The End Of My Candy Love

Warning!

Alright, so. This post will contain a lot. First of all, it's gonna be really sloppy. I'm very emotional person and I easily get attached to games, movies and stuff. I know it's a bit weird, but yeah, I'm a weird person. Anyway, that's why there's a warning: there's gonna be a lot of sloppiness, grammar mistakes (at least I think so, specially since english isn't my native languange) and it's probably going to be long. So, if you're intrested in reading my thoughts about everything - good luck.

First Adventure

I first heard about "My Candy Love" in 2015, six years ago. So, I was basically a baby (I'm pretty young). And I started playing a year after, I got totally obssesed with Lysander and I fell in love, seriously, haha. I was into writing back then, but I couldn't find any ideas on "what to write?" and MCL gave me just that - inspiration (that's most likely why I'm just a romance freak).

My Story

You know, I was a child so I couldn't really pay for AP, but I always found some kind of way to get them. But then I got my phone I just used money from that, geez, I was nuts. The old AP system was so iconic, looking for Nathaniel, finding Kiki, I'm gonna miss it.

Anyway, I got along with Castiel pretty well (which suprises me 'cause I found about walkthroughs in 2017, like year after, so maybe it was because I was a brat?), but I adored Lysander. Oh, I also loved Ken (I was so sad when he went away) and Nathaniel. After I met Armin, I liked him too.

Again, being a child and playing a game like this I came across all diffrent kinds of emotions. I was laughing, crying, dying from embaressment (this thing with Nath and locker room, aaa) and getting seriously mad (Deborah's arc, Priya, Charlotte). I remember impatiently waiting for new episode to come out or crying my eyes out during Lysander's amnesia plot. Jesus. I loved the way Castiel was teasing Candy, I loved this cute-clumsy Kentin, I loved the old Nathaniel, I loved Armin and most of all - I loved my precious Lysander. I adored the interactions between characters, how funny or cringy they were and how much fun I had. I even like this secret-dating plot even when it got on my nerves. I still remember staying up late to watch videos like "lysander illustrations" and stuff. I also really enjoyed reading MCL manga and I spent hours trying to translate it from Spanish to English or my native languange (funfact: I still haven't finished it! I don't know where to find those mangas) or trying to draw something from the game up ending up terribly failing. Anyway, I was crying during the prom thing, my Candy was so grown-up, I got emotional, haha. So, 40 episode came in. I was pretty excited 'because, me, being extremely naive (I got to say, I've never had a problem with Beemoov before, I started playing MCL in 2016 and Eldarya in 2017, so there were no major issues with them, only the price of PA, I think) thought that my Lysander is going to propose (I was a child, ok?) and maybe, there's going to be a second season with us living together. Haha, how naive I was. Whole episode 40, really got me tearing up, I was a wreck, seriously (When Kentin couldn't take Candy's bra off I lost it or this whole ananas thing in Castiel's route, omg). But I finished it feeling happy. I truly enjoyed spending my time on this game. But, then this whole university thing came out. And the fact, that Lysander, Armin and Kentin won't be with us foe the next season. I spent entire vacation crying (I was a kiddo, ok?) and being mad at everyone. I felt like I got robbed. It was horrible.

"A New Chapter"

I was one of these people who just couldn't accept the change. Not in the world. Never. They stole my Lysander, Kentin and Armin from me and changed AP system to some kind of bullshit. God, I was mad. Really mad. Seeing Castiel was quite nice, but I didn't fill the void of my baby. But, oh, my, God. When I saw Nathaniel I just couldn't believe. I said I was mad? Then I was furious. I really liked the old Nathaniel, he had his own vibe, his backstory, his character and it was just, damn, amazing. But they changed him completely, for what? They wanted the second Castiel? Yeah, they got it. Priya as a love interest was quite a good move, tho. I even though I didn't like her (in highschool or in university) I liked the idea of adding a female interest. But the thing that hurted me, was the fact that Lysander was taking care of the farm. Like, no! He didn't want that. He didn't like the countryside. He had such a potential to become a author and Beemoov didn't let him. God, that broke my heart. Anyway, I didn't spent a single penny on MCLUL, but I have to say - I kinda enjoyed it. You know, it was the guily-pleasure kind of thing. I didn't like it as much as I liked highschool, but there were some good or funny moments. I loved Rayan's kiss scene. I adored Chani. Or Hyun making us watch "Toy Story". Nathaniel's ulgy green hair or all these crazy threesomes. I liked it. Kinda. I hated Nath tho. The ending, hm, it was okay, I guess? I do feel sort of nostalgic thinking about it 'cause I got some nice memories from it, in the end. But yeah, going on.

Love Life

Oh. My. Lord. I was so sceptical about it. Like, I was sure that, at this point they're going to do "My Candy Love Mid-Life Crises" next or some other shit. But in the end, I "kinda" like it. It wasn't good like highschool or fresh like university, but I was nice to see new chapters with our annoying-cringy Candy, that I love (btw, I started playing other otome games and I realized that Candy wasn't that bad). Meeting Eric was nice, even tho, this whole cheating plot really got me ragging. Like, damn, Beemoov, seriously? And if you going this, why not with old LIs? Just kidding. Anyway, I truly enjoyed meeting Dan and Eric, the two of them were quite a characters. I won't forget them, hah. I was happy with single ending, 'cause I think about it as a "open ending" when my Candy can go back to my baby and everything's going to be alright.

Regrets & Complaints

Now, now. Where do I start? AP system was a freaking nightmare. Replacing old Nathaniel with some kind of weird Castiel was a nightmare. Removing Lysander, Nathaniel, Armin and Kentin was a nightmare. Not finishing plots was a nightmare. And why in the whole Love Life I haven't seen Amber once? Why Alexy never mentioned Evan like they're not brothers? Why Castiel doesn't care that I was dating his bestfriend? And why, in the world, after changing the system finding Kiki is so damn easy? Why AP is so expensive? So many questions!

All The Good Times

But, I got to say. I will never forget this bitchy Castiel, cookie-monster Ken following us around. Or cute Nathaniel. Castiel buying Candy some kind of weird McDonald's. Or Lysander's parents exposing him having crush on Candy. Or seeing Kentin kissing Amber (ew). This super akward-funny sex ed lesson. Deborah's arc and losing my shit over it. Or Thomas (this weird child) stalking my Candy and her LI in the park. And Lysander asking us how to hide a body, aaa. Or Armin telling us he loves us. Or Kentin. And Cookie ripping this huge teddybear apart. Or the water fight in Kentin’s spin off. And crushing on Alexy and later on finding out he’s gay. Or spin-the-bottle game and Lysander getting jealous. Or Dake, being a creep for entire game straight. Or guessing what was guy's surnames. And for sure, I will never forget this demonic Kiki dog.

What it worth it?

In the end, yes. Have I ever told you that I want to become a professional writer? Silly dream, I know, but writing is a huge passion of mine, and well, my first story was based off My Candy Love (it is cringy as hell, but I feel kinda nostalgic thinking about it). All these years spending on playing game that I wasn't supposed to be playing was amazing. It was one of the best experiences I had in life and I will never, ever forget that.

What now?

Well, Beemoov is working on a new game and I'm kinda optimistic. I know, it's really naive of me, but I want to believe that they won't f*ck this up, this time. And going back to Sweet Amoris, well, I truly missed this place! And the teachers... And Kiki. I wonder, when it will be released and will Beemoov finally open up about telling us surnames and ages of love interests. Anyway, I want to believe they learnt from their mistakes.

In the end. Thank you, My Candy Love, for creating so many memories. I will be forever grateful.

Since I can't get myself motivated to draw part 2 of the cities, have some headcanons bout looks of few states (+ San Diego who I forgot, idfk how could I forget the golden child of Cal "[...] and we all like San Diego" ~ California)

first Florida, who has doesn't have all teeth bc why not, gave him freckles bc SUNNY STATE. His shirt says "I don't talk to cups" and U is deffinetly hiding O under it, poor Gov tried his best, but his sewing skills aren't the greatest.

Louie just gives me long hair vibes, idk. Also, ofc the hat isn't his, he just needed to play into his beautiful shirt remade by Gov (poor guy). If you are wondering, it was Pot stealer before. Also, freckels were given only bc I am weak.

LA doesn't enjoy PA(pa), he heared some stories. Penny isn't that bad, he's just usually quite upbeat (and an ass) unless he's hangover, then he's just tired. Tbh I think he's look didn't change that much, his hair is just more fluffy, ya know, because.

Texas!! I had to convince myself to like him, but his looks were set for me pretty quickly, he just gives those blond, blue-eyed type of white guy, ya know? Scar on his mouth is bc, of course, the Alamo. (If anyone wonders, Austin - who will be drawn by me probably few times, since Cal adores him. - looks a lot like him, just no scar, he has his hat down and doesn't always have a small beared bc he gives the same golden boi vibes as San Diego.) Also, San Francisco will absolutly throw hands if they'll ever meet, maybe Cal forgets, but SF does not forgive.

Hopefully obvious, it's Mass, my own golden (raccoon) child, he also did not change much, looks a little more,, snarky? annoying?? His scar is from Boston Massacre.

And York(ie), ofc, whom I adore. He has eyebags bc "City that never sleeps" shit and I gave him visible hair for one, and only purpuse - I hate drawing him without them, it makes it look like he's bald, sue me.

And the golden boy, Diego!! He has a tattoo on his chest of a bible vers in spanish. While drawing him I noticed how close he looks to Dio (Florida). "Todo tiene su tempo y todo lo que se quiere debajo del cielo tiene su hora" - is the quote, not sure if it's good tho bc I can't speak spanish, I'm learning french at the moment.

Also, I do have a look for Oklahoma, but sadly SOMEONE won't give me more stuff with him, I am still waiting for a proper welcome to the table ._.

Kardashian Dreaming

Had the coolest/most bizarre dream ever. 

I was seated at this meeting with Mama Kris Jenner, Rob was there and prolly the other family members, I can’t remember. And she was gonna hire me or wanted to hire me, and it was an interview or something am not so sure.  But basically my role was to hang around the whole Kardashian-Jenner clan, be on the prowl on the stuff they do, find research backing up evidence that what they do is effective by science (but way better than David Avocado Wolfe levels, more classier and actually backed up by a medical doctor (hello, me!), and yes, blog about it.

Or ghost write articles whatever floats my boat. Basically tag along with them, maybe occasionally take their pics for Instagram/Snapchat as to back up the article I wrote or blogged, but not in a PA kind of way.  I’m more like just like a third party observer, I am to be treated cordially and kindly, not like staff, whom I don’t like as some are bossy, snobby divas (must be competition syndrome who knows?).

I don’t get to be on the show either (Thank God, I wasn’t the type who wanted that sort of attention to begin with), but as a fan of the series, it’s a treat that I get a full-depth view of what goes on in the family for real and ahead from what’s aired on E!, way before everyone else gets to see it (of course I have a disclosure clause tho I can write anything, as long as Mama Jenner approves of the topic of course, like I report directly to her anyway and she does keep direct tabs with me on the stuff that I write).

Well, anyway, going back  to the story: Then Kris goes for the jugular and looks  me in the eye and says “we pay higher than 500 per hour”, kinda making me know she’s done her homework about me and that whatever I’m currently being paid for at my current job,  she’s willing to pay me higher (lol. 600 maybe?) and before y’all start thinking, I knew deep down Mama Kris meant she was gonna pay me at least 600 US Dollars per hour just to “keep up with them”,  and I had a fixed schedule of reporting 3-4x a week at least four hours to a maximum of 8 hours a day, as for specifics on time well, if there are evening events and if I’m free, I can go and would be paid double for night differential. All of which was pretty ok by me.

I learned in my 90 minute snooze that the Kardashian clan are actually pretty generous employers. Like you got free range around the house (of course you can’t enter the private rooms unless you’re invited by the owner to go in and there are CCTVs so they do know when PAs steal their stuff), you can eat whatever food is in the pantry (except stuff that’s labeled with the names of the girls if they’re saving it for later, like Kim writes her name on it labeled as “Kim” or “Kiki”, Kourtney uses a green tape label so you know it’s hers, shit this dream is so detailed, it was beyond!!!

Anyway, so I get the job yo’. I’m hanging out with Kanye West. He’s not even scary. He’s actually very nice and polite, not like the angry dude you always see on the telly.

So he’s going about talking being drawn to different kinds of wall graffitis (I swear I had no idea there were even types to begin with!  Shit there it is on google, people I am just typing this website and googling it down now because I thought that dream was just crack but fuuuucccck nnnhhooo!!!) and showed me this wall written with words like yeezy (yes written in bold with no caps on the first “y”) and a quote, I can’t remember but I know it was a cool quote about believing in yourself and pretty profound one at that. It took me a while to realize while talking to this man that he was in the process of making his own font!! People, Kanye West was designing his own fucking Times New Roman y’all!!! Prolly use the letterings to put it on his shirts, on his album, have it sold on Microsoft Office or whatnot, this shit is superb I simply cannot!!!.  It wasn’t a useless font,  it’s like a relatable font that could be used for making a slogan, a poster, or heck even as a document paper if you don’t mind wasting some ink on the printer.

It was super genius, I tell you. I remember giving him feedback about it (because he asked me, that’s how cool the ‘Ye is, he gets feedback from the masses coz he wants to understand the common people!) that I liked the design on the wall except if I stood at a certain distance, I couldn’t read the first word written on top (I can’t believe I had the nerve to talk up to the ‘Ye) but he was super cool about it and admitted he hadn’t thought about that but was “going with the creative flow” when he was in the moment and having an artistic flair myself, I understood where he was coming from.

Next I’m in the gym. Now I’m pretty certain this is recent, I cannot confirm if Khloe is pregnant but she sure wasn’t working out either.

Out of the Kardashian sisters, she’s the one I genuinely get along with the best. She even calls me by my first name Kristina, opting not to address me by my middle name which Kris and Kim do as I didn’t want to confuse myself into sharing a nickname similar to my new boss (aka Mama KJ). I dunno but I clicked best with Khloe and could honestly imagine that IRL we could be really good pals. She does have one interesting habit: she always has to turn off the lights when not in use.

It’s weird because you think one: these people are ridiculously rich but are stingy with electricity? Two, shouldn’t the Kardashian/Jenner fam invest in motion sensor lights? And Three: according to Khloe, she started getting back into this habit to reduce energy in lieu of Climate Change (of course), and it used to be the one reminder her dad, the late Robert Kardashian Sr  always made her do because, like me, she had a habit of leaving the lights on too.

So basically included on my job description was yep, turn off the lights each time I went out of a room or check if there are unused lights.

So one time I’m in the family gym, and Kim was there. Now out of all the Kardashian/Jenners (don’t tell Khloe ok, ORZ) Kim is my favourite. IRL she’s not tall, prolly around my height, but has a doll-face and is really curvy but small in the areas that matter. TBH Kim leaves me star-struck, very Kween- like: regal, formal, never losing her shit (unlike me the whole freaking dream sequence) but still approachable and likeable.

Out of all the Kardashian/Jenners, Kim is the most like Kris. Like literally Mama’s carbon copy, even in some mannerisms, except Kim is more reserved, polite, but still approachable without being intimidating, which that part is mostly like her Mom.  Though Kim can be intimidating in a different way.  Let’s just say both women have that Alpha air about them.

Kris Jenner is all business and is the the Queen Mom, kinda like my boss so it’s ironic I leave a job only to be hired by someone who resembles a lot of qualities similar to the former boss. But who can deny BIGGER and BETTER PAY?

As for Kim, I really can’t compare her to anyone I’ve ever met, but she’s definitely got an aura of being something extraordinary. Like Celebrity vibes.  That feeling one gets when you’re in the presence of someone who is gonna either change the world or bring it to its knees and end the rest of humanity, XD. 

 Anyway, I’m in the gym and I dunno why but there are icicles on the machines (the elliptical, the treadmill, the bikes)  I don’t feel cold or anything but it I chose to ignore it prolly coz I was astonished that there were icicles on the machines and yet no one bothers to turn off the AC and plus hello, I’m watching Kimye work out a sweat or rather, breathing cold air like some friggin’ Elsa with her long platinum hair which makes me miss own on bleached Khaleesi mane too.  Kim’s working on the treadmill, she gives me a polite smile and nod, and says hello, addressing me by my middle name (it’s shocking because I’ve barely been in this house or at this job for long, and already Kim knows me by name and face.  It’s like an amazing talent she and Kris have, they remember faces and names of people they’ve just met, whether you’re a Royalty or a servant, they’ll remember.  They’re like natural politicians!).  

Khloe asks me if I could turn off the lights, which was the gym, I dim it a bit, with Kim’s permission, of course.  She doesn’t mind, she’s in her own zone.  Breathing out cold air probably from those iced exercise machines I dunno (I believe I found new material for my writing blogs that I was hired for too).  

I move on to another side of the gym, which is a lounge area.  I see in the corner of my eye Kourtney having a informal business meeting with a blonde long-haired Japanese business dude who gives me Steve Aoki vibes, a translator (who is my friend Aira), and a bunch of other peeps lounging on sofas.  I yell over to Khloe and tell her that someone’s in the lounge room and she goes over to me and says “Oh yeah, leave the lights on.” Laughs off and walks away.

I’m not close with Kourt tho.  I don’t think we have bad vibes or anything, actually we’re the same age, it’s just Kourt and I never had a chance to bond because her top priority are her kids and we just never had time to chitchat, but I think she’s just as nice as the rest of the family, probably even more casual than Kim, but less chummy as Khloe.  She did mention once that I’m a natural with kids even though I never baby sat any of the Kardashian kids, but they’re really sweet and they seem to like me well enough.  

I’ve interacted with Mason, Reign, and Penny; they’re the sweetest kids, Reign and Penny always greet me with hugs, they’re super friendly.  Mason’s already a big boy, so hugs are not in order and he’s usually somewhere off doing his own thing or hanging out with Scott aka The Lord (who doesn’t seem like the douchebag he’s normally portrayed as in the show).  I’ve met North and Saint briefly as Kim was in a hurry, North’s a bit shy, she’s got the cutest smile tho. I just don’t think North warms up to people as easily as compared to Kourtney’s kids do tho.  Saint is adorable, as expected, but it’s too early to tell how he’s gonna be when he’s older, but he’s so darn cute. Saint reminds me of this kid of a friend of mine who was just about the cutest darnest little kid whom I preferred to babysit over his naughty older brother, Andrei, hahaha!

And as for the Kardashian-Jenner girls.  Well, all I can say is Kendall is by far the tallest and prettiest sister and has got the most amazing legs, but she’s moody as f tho.  Like let’s say she’d walk in a room I was in, she’d ignore me (unless I’d be the first one to greet her, then she’d respond with a bored hi or mumble something close to it) then Ken would do her own thing like sit on a corner of a table or lounge on a couch and interact with her sisters but mostly looks bored as if she’d rather be somewhere else more interesting than at home, which is kinda disappointing since I’m a huge fan of hers, but I get her deal.  She grew up into the whole limelight and unlike her older sisters, she never wanted any of it and if you asked her, she’d probably wish she was living a rather normal life. Plus the bad bitterness she has as a model and having to prove to everyone she’s a supermodel because people hate on her for the nepotism even though she really does work hard.  Basically Kendall is the Kuudere of the Kardashian/Jenner girls.  So I get her deal. But compared to Kun-Kuun Kenny, Kylie is more like the typical teen/Generation Z/late Millenial: Always on her phone, not really in tune with anything going on about in the house.  I like Jordyn Woods tho, she’s really friendly and warm that you don’t get an air vibe out of her, like she’s genuinely a nice girl that you’re glad she’s there for Kylie.  Maybe that’s the reason why Kylie’s got a lot more mellow than her older sister Kendall, since Kendall doesn’t have that sort of friendship from what I’ve seen based on that whole dynamic I’ve gathered in that 90 minute dream.

Oh, and as for Kylie being pregnant? Let’s just say, I can’t say :P

That dream was so awesome!!  Too bad I had to get up after dozing off when the alarm reminded me that I had to leave the house early because I had an exam. I woke up feeling shitty because I didn’t get enough rest and as I took a cold shower, it suddenly hit me that I had dreamed about this during that 90 minute accidental snooze and I found myself having to write it down, and added more of my personal in-depth thoughts because tho it was such a vivid dream that happened so fast, I’m amazed by how much insight I actually got based from those details that I decided to write it all down and post it on tumblr/twitter with hopes that I do wonder if any of this shit was accurate.

I probably should’ve done something funny for Star other than the typical ‘Magical Girl magic swirl spin’ but eh, whatever, it looks okay at best // Penny is one of those “Main character’s crush” that I actually like because of how funny and based in reality she is (i.e. telling Gumball that his ideas of marriage at their young age isn’t a good idea but to instead give it time). Penny wasn’t on my list at first but PC suggested her (so if there is any character y’all wanna seen drawn in my lackluster way, go ahead and suggest ‘em) // Pepper Ann is one of those shows that I would probably pay around $50 for a complete series DVD set from Disney if given the chance (*hint hint, wink wink* disney), its been one of my favorite shows since I was a kid in the 90s (tho’ I’ll admit that when I first watched it, during the first episode I saw [not the bra one] I thought PA was a boy)

Ann at Mr Gilman’s from about noon to a little after 4 p.m. – home at 4 3/4  - delighted with the old registers – declares that if she had time ‘she could copy out the whole of the earliest volume with pleasure – pas moi – she is writing a long letter of extracts from cash books etc respecting Newhouse to her sister tonight – Siding in my study and punctuating Ann’s long letter till 11 1/2 p.m.

The Little Edo, Kawagoe

Hello! Kali ini gue akan cerita tentang destinasi pertama gue ketika gue berlibur ke Jepang, yaitu kota Kawagoe di Saitama prefecture. Lokasinya kurang lebih 50 km dari pusat kota Tokyo. Baru pernah mendengar nama kota ini? Sejujurnya gue juga baru mendengar nama kota ini setelah gue melihat itinerary yang disusun oleh sepupu gue. Kayaknya gue yang kurang update ya, tapi jujur gue belum pernah sebelumnya mendengar cerita dari orang lain tentang kawasan ini. Sepupu gue juga ternyata mau kesini karena ingin “napak tilas” perjalanan Seohyun dan Yonghwa di We Got Married. Errr, iya kita ini wanita-wanita pecinta Korea sebenarnya. Akhirnya gue coba cari tahu dulu Kawagoe ini daerah apa. Dan ternyata, area Kawagoe ini terkenal sebagai the little Edo, kota tua yang menggambarkan suasana Jepang di masa zaman Edo dahulu. Banyak berdiri bangunan-bangunan tradisional dan kuil-kuil di sepanjang jalan di daerah Kawagoe. Gue suka banget nih kalau dibawa ke tempat-tempat kayak gini, so I was very excited!

Seperti yang gue bilang sebelumnya, Kawagoe ini letaknya agak jauh ya dari pusat kota Tokyo, karena sebenarnya Kawagoe ini sudah masuk ke prefektur Saitama. Untuk mencapai Kawagoe, bisa dengan mudah menggunakan kereta saja. Kemarin, gue naik kereta dari stasiun Shinjuku Station. Dari Shinjuku Station, masuk ke jalur Yamanote Line (JR Line, jalur hijau) yang ke arah Ikebukuro/Ueno. Naik kereta di jalur ini kurang lebih selama 8 menit, lalu turun di Ikebukuro Station. Di Ikebukuro Station, pindah ke jalur Tobu-Tojo Line (jalur biru) yang ke arah Ogawamachi. Naik kereta di jalur ini kurang lebih selama 45 menit, lalu turun di Kawagoeshi Station. Lumayan lama, ya, karena memang agak jauh letaknya. Harga untuk total perjalanan ini kalau kata Google Maps 820 yen. Jujur aja gue nggak hitung berapa harga aslinya, karena udah otomatis kepotong dari SUICA nya, tapi harusnya sama kok kayak yang dari Google, kalau beda pun nggak akan beda jauh. Dari stasiun Kawagoeshi, bisa berjalan kaki ke pusat Kawagoe kurang lebih sejauh 1,5 km. Jauh? Memang, tapi asyik kok :) Selama di Jepang, gue banyak jalan kaki jauh. Ada lah, ya, dalam sehari minimal gue jalan kaki 7 km. Tentu capek, tapi karena di sekeliling kita itu banyak hal menarik yang bisa kita lihat, jadi ya tidak masalah!

Tujuan utama kita di area Kawagoe adalah jalan Kurazukuri. Di sepanjang jalan inilah, kita bisa melihat bangunan-bangunan tradisional Jepang dan kuil-kuil yang rapi berjejer. Waktu itu, kita sampai di stasiun Kawagoeshi pukul 08.30, masih pagi sekali. Dalam perjalanan kita menuju Kurazukuri, kita melalui sebuah jalan yang merupakan deretan pertokoan. Tapi karena masih pagi, jadi masih pada tutup deh. Gapapa, tetep bisa foto ala ala. Jalanan pun masih sepi. Kita berjalan ditemani bapak-bapak dan ibu-ibu yang bersepeda. Ohiya, karena kita pergi di bulan Agustus, jadi di Jepang sedang musim panas. Akan tetapi, kalau masih pagi seperti ini, masih dingin sekali rasanya. Mendung pula, persis kayak di Bandung.

Akhirnya, sampai juga kita di Kurazukuri! Tahu darimana kalau kita sudah sampai? Karena sepanjang mata memandang, yang terlihat adalah bangunan-bangunan antik tradisional Jepang! Bangunan-bangunan ini sebenarnya merupakan pertokoan. Ada toko souvenir, toko kain, toko makanan, dan lain-lain. Kita sempat masuk ke sebuah toko souvenir yang menjual barang lucu-lucu. Masuk aja tapi, nggak beli apa-apa, karena harga tak sesuai dompet, hehehe. Area Kurazukuri ini juga sepertinya sudah banyak dikenal oleh para turis. Di jalan masuknya, terpampang peta area Kawagoe yang menurut gue cukup informatif dan membantu. Di post ini sudah pernah gue tampilkan peta tersebut.

Selayaknya turis, kita jalan-jalan menyusuri jalan Kurazakuri ini. Masuk ke setiap gangnya, masuk ke toko-toko yang menarik, dan tak lupa foto-foto. Di dalam gang-gangnya ini, terdapat beberapa kuil juga yang bisa kita masuki. Untuk masuk ke kuil ini gratis kok, tidak bayar.

Ada juga gang yang khusus menjual berbagai macam permen dan manisan, makanya disebut penny candy lane. Di gang ini, gue membeli semacam kue ubi. Tidak tahu nama persisnya apa, tapi terlihat enak dan harganya pun murah, hehe. Cocok buat oleh-oleh. Di salah satu gang ini pula kita menemukan sebuah toko yang sangat dicari-cari oleh sepupu gue: es krim ubi! Es krim ubi ini warnanya ungu. Kalau kata sepupu gue, di toko inilah Seohyun dan Yonghwa pacaran sambil makan es krim ubi. Hm. Toko es krim ubi ini memang ramai banget sih. Sepupu gue pun akhirnya beli. Lupa harganya berapa, kalau nggak salah sekitar 400-500 yen. Gue nggak beli, karena sebenarnya agak skeptis dengan rasa ubinya. Tapi ternyata pas gue cobain punya sepupu gue, enak juga.

Di daerah Kurazukuri ini, yang juga terkenal sebenarnya adalah Toki no kane atau time bell tower, semacam menara jam dengan bentuk tradisional. Rasanya kita ngelewatin tempat ini ya, tapi entah kenapa kok nggak ada di galeri foto kita. Juga ada Kurazukuri Museum, namun kita tidak masuk. Sedikit cerita tentang Kurazukuri seperti yang dijelaskan pada link: https://www.japanhoppers.com/id/kanto/kawagoe/kanko/2473/; jadi nama Kurazukuri ini merupakan istilah Jepang untuk suatu gaya arsitektur Jepang yang menampilkan dinding-dinding tembikar yang tebal dan tahan api serta pintu ganda yang berat. Bentuk arsitektur inilah yang ditampilkan di bangunan-bangunan di sepanjang jalan Kurazukuri. Gaya arsitektur ini populer di Kawagoe karena suatu ketika pernah terjadi kebakaran hebat dan yang bisa bertahan dari kebakaran tersebut hanyalah rumah bergaya kurazukuri. Nah, museum Kurazukuri ini sebenarnya adalah bangunan bergaya Kurazukuri yang selamat dari kebakaran di masa lampau tersebut. Bangunan ini dulunya dimiliki oleh seorang saudagar tembakau, jadi di dalam bangunan museum ini ditampilkan produk-produk tembakau tersebut dan ada juga info mengenai bagaimana cara penanganan kebakaran dari masa ke masa. Gue nggak masuk ke dalam museum ini ya, hanya lewat saja. Semua info tentang museum itu gue dapat dari link yang udah gue tulis di atas. Kenapa gue nggak masuk? Karena sesungguhnya kita nggak tahu kalau ternyata itu museum... Karena bangunannya nggak seperti museum yang biasa kita lihat, malah kita kira itu adalah toko. Eh ternyata museum. Kita malah lebih tertarik dengan semacam becak yang dipajang tidak jauh dari depan museumnya, dan kita malah foto-foto. Yah, wanita.

Setelah puas menyusuri area Kurazukuri ini, akhirnya kita jalan kembali menuju stasiun untuk kembali ke Tokyo. Namun sebelumnya, kita makan siang dulu di restoran Sukiya yang terletak di sepanjang deretan pertokan yang sebelumnya kita lewati, yang tadi pagi masih tutup itu. Harga untuk seporsi beef bowl berbeda-beda untuk setiap size nya. Gue beli ukuran medium, harganya sekitar 500 yen untuk seporsi beef bowl dan ocha dingin. Not bad. Setelah merasa cukup mengisi perut, beristirahat, dan meregangkan kaki, kita jalan lagi deh ke stasiun Kawagoeshi. Hari udah cukup siang, sekitar jam 11 gitu, dan baru deh kerasa musim panasnya. Terik!  

Sebagai turis yang sedang dalam mode sangat-sangat excited, gue merasa terpuaskan kok jalan-jalan di Kawagoe. Lingkungannya memang berbeda dari Tokyo yang metropolitan gitu, jadi memang menarik lah untuk dilihat. Ohiya, disana kayaknya kita memang terlihat sebagai turis ya, yang kerjaannya foto sini foto situ dengan muka sumringah. Dan karena kita hanya berdua, jadi kalau kita foto ya gantian, kalo mau foto berdua ya selfie. Nah ketika kita lagi repot foto gantian, datanglah seorang ibu-ibu Jepang yang sedang jalan-jalan sama anjingnya, menawarkan untuk memfoto kita berdua. Ibuuu baik sekaliiii haha akhirnya kita difotoin deh! Makasih ibu! :D Oh dan satu lagi, di Kawagoe ini gue juga akhirnya merasakan komunikasi pakai bahasa tubuh, bahasa isyarat, dan bahasa kalbu. Jadi ceritanya kita mau beli tiket masuk museum Fujiko F. Fujio dan tiket bis malam untuk pulang dari Kyoto di Lawson. Yaudah masuk nih kita ke Lawson, langsung ke kasir dan bertanya bagaimana cara membeli tiket-tiket itu. Mbak-mbak kasirnya lempeng aja dong bingung kita ngomong apa. Kita juga bingung jadinya, haha. Akhirnya pelan-pelan, mbaknya pun mulai menangkap kata “ticket”, “Fujiko F. Fujio”, “bus”, dan “Kyoto”. Dituntunlah kita untuk membeli segala tiket tersebut, dengan berbagai kesulitan yang ada, haha. Tapi mbaknya baik kok, kelihatan banget kalau mbaknya juga desperate bingung jelasin ke kitanya gimana, tapi tetap berusaha melayani kita dengan baik. Makasih ya, mbak! :D
