Do you ever feel tired of everything like really tired that you just wanted to lay in peace on a soft bed and close your eyes for eternity?

How I wish dying is as easy as sleeping.

I’m an accomplished man. I got everything. That's what people around me always says. But I’m not happy. I wished I could tell them. Instead, I am running away. From those people who thought that I’m a happy man.

After all these years of pretensions, I would like to know how it feels like to remove the mask I wear all the time for other people's satisfactions.

“Welcome home, young master, Tooru.” Oh, to be the real Oikawa Tooru once again.

Fifteen Years Ago...

Odd. That’s how he sees the boy in olive brown hair and olive green eyes. His character matches the eerie feeling of the house he’s living. Tooru would never want to associate himself with a kid like that. If it wasn’t for the request of his dying grandmother, he won’t be in an old village, living in a mansion where his ancestors used to reside when they were alive. The mansion itself is a home of grandeur but Tooru cannot be persuaded by luxury. Even though he has been living a life of comfort that every kid his age would cry for, Tooru want something else. Something that could not be bought by money.

And the boy standing from the clearing in the woods, is a great example of thing that even him cannot buy.

“You are Grand Raya’s grandchild.” Every denizens in this town knows about it. The St. Vincent’s heir, Tooru Oikawa has arrived. That’s what the local newspaper posted in the front page.

Tooru extrudes his tongue at the boy he have tried bribing with his money, “stop tailing, you damn dog or I’ll throw you and your family out of this old and shitty village.”

Manners, Tooru. Manners. If his mother were here, that’s what she would be saying to him. St. Vincents’ are good people. His father, too. So, why he can’t be like them?

“I am not following you, Tooru. I lived here.” Wakatoshi turns his back at the boy he finds peculiarly beautiful. He would accept him. As long as he stay good and real. Tooru Oikawa will soon agree to be his friend. “Go home, little prince.”

“Freak.” Tooru bites back, walking drastically away from the clearing with Wakatoshi’s timid half-smile face lingering in his mind.

“I had no choice.” As if his answer matters to the unsaid question, Tooru just shrugged his shoulders and instruct his butler to hand the canvas and paint kit to Wakatoshi who did nothing but just nod.

“Why are you hanging out with him? I’m really curious.” Shigeru finally voiced out his thoughts, stopping the heir from descending down the foyer.

Wakatoshi who have been doing his best to earn Tooru’s trust also stopped on his tracks. What would he say? He thought. Would he deny him?

“I had no choice.” Tooru answers, licking his lips.

The two young boy walks out of the mansion. Passing through the enormous porch and straight on the path towards the garden.

“Why do you keep saying you don’t have a choice? You’re not a corpse.” Wakatoshi lays the canvas and the kit under the bird bath. He face the peculiar beauty in front of him, buffled. “You are alive. Why can’t you choose?”

“I have hundreds of choices. I just don’t know how and which to choose.”

“Have you been dead?”

“What’s with the question?” Tooru dusts the canvas and put it on the easel. Motioning Wakatoshi to move away from the bird bath. What a strange boy for his age. Tooru wanders his mind to the query. Has anyone been dead and came back to life? The idea was crazy.

“If you really treasure your life then you will fight for the choices you are afraid to make. Even the dead get to choose in the afterlife, Tooru.”

Tooru pursed his lips in thin line. Orbs battling against Wakatoshi’s olive ones.

“I let you know a secret, I’m a coward that’s why I chose not to choose.”

All his damn life, Tooru has been letting his mother and few of those people he trust to choose for him. Whether it’s about the clothes he would wear, the food he would eat or the individuals he would associate himself with, it all depends on them.

To put it simply, Tooru doesn’t trust himself enough to make a choice.

“Of all the worst choices sprawled on the table, why did you pick the worst of them all?” Grand Raya asked her grandchild who have been painting his subject on the wall of his bedroom.

“Do you think he’s a bad choice, grandma?” Tooru pauses, scrutinizing his unfinished work for any additional details. “It was my first time though, choosing what’s best out of the substandard options I had.”

“He may be a substandard for you but have you noticed yourself lately, Tooru? You are changing.” The old woman sat in comfort on the wheeled chair, resting her head between the mounted pillow atop of the soft backrest. “I will sleep for now, wake me up when dinner is ready.”

Grand Raya never opened her eyes again that day when she fell asleep. Tooru have done everything he could to shake his grandma back to life but the old lady had chosen death.

He is nowhere to be found. At times like these, whenever he feel tired or out of focus, Wakatoshi would appear out of nowhere to give him the boost he might needed to accomplish his task. Tooru dropped his bag on the teak bench in their garden and decided to look for Wakatoshi in the woods where he lived.

“Hey.” Tooru calls the attention of the boy who is currently chopping firewoods in the backyard.

Wakatoshi sways the ax once more, dividing the wood into half before acknowledging the other boy’s presence, “Tooru.” He says, drying the beads of sweats running from his temple down to his face.

“You skipped class.” Tooru and Wakatoshi are both attending the same academy that’s why it was easy for Tooru to notice if his substandard friend is not around.

“I have fever and headache.”

“But you are chopping firewoods.” Oikawa notices that Wakatoshi’s lips is more red than usual. He has fever indeed.

“This will keep me warm later once the temperature drop at midnight.” Wakatoshi gathers the chopped firewoods and bring them inside the cabin.

Oikawa lend a hand and follows the taller boy inside, carrying the remaining woods.

“Have you eaten?”

“Not yet.”

“I’ll make you a porridge. Go to your room.”

It really bothers Tooru why his friend chose to live in the woods when he can afford to purchase a property in the town proper. From what he have heard, Wakatoshi’s parents are both miners and owned a mining company that operates in different countries.

“Still alive?” Tooru asks as he makes himself comfortable to intrude Wakatoshi’s peace.

The brunette sets the porridge on the bedside table and signal his friend to rise and eat the food he prepared.

“Barely alive.” Wakatoshi answered.

The two young souls ate in silence. Eyes stealing glances when one of them is not looking.

That night, Tooru had decided not to go back in his home. Instead, he spends the night attending the sick Wakatoshi who had nightmares due to his high body temperature.

“I’m sorry.” Tooru apologizes, realising his inappropriate action.

Wakatoshi touches his lips. Surprised by Tooru’s sudden lips press on his, “what were you apologizing for?”

Tooru hides his face, too embarrassed to face the boy he used to call freak.

“I kissed you.”

“I like it.”

He was surprised by his reply so he ended up staring at Wakatoshi’s face and lips.

“Wakatos—” Tooru did not get to finish his name. He was pulled by him, down to the bed and underneath his surging warmth.

Wakatoshi looks at him like he is the most exquisite creature in their world, “you are beautiful.” That’s what he said before claiming the brunette’s lips and let the four corners of the room to witness the fiery kiss they shared in the middle of that cold midnight.

A week later ...

“I can’t find my father’s necklace.”

“Where was the last place you visit?”

“the river near your house, Wakatoshi.”

The next day, he was found dead under the river. Foot jammed between the massive rocks underwater.

“Welcome home, young master, Tooru.” Oh, to be the real Oikawa Tooru once again.

The brunette motions the butler to leave him alone and the man obeyed.

“I will see you now, freak.” Tooru smiles, setting down the wheeled chair where his grandmother died with a smile on her lips.

It was a great dream. Tooru saw his young self arguing with Wakatoshi in the garden. The freak was smiling at him while leaning against the bird bath.

“Stop moving, Wakatoshi! You’re gonna ruin my painting!” Tooru yells.

Wakatoshi flashes his rare eye smile and says, “you are really beautiful, Tooru.”

It was just a dream.

But it felt real.

Tooru had chosen.

He’ll stay there.

That’s where he belongs.

Inside Wakatoshi’s warmth.

Tooru Oikawa with the gem pressed tight on his chest... died in his sleep.

“We’ll get that one,” said the two men who both pointed the decades old painting of a bird bath with a green gem on it.

The old man who sells painting on the street had to bite the inside of his mouth to prevent himself from crying.

The old man is Shigeru, the St. Vinvent’s former butler.

While the two men are Wakatoshi Ushijima and Tooru Oikawa... and this is their another life.

WD*Steven New Episode Thoughts

** Warning, below the cut contains spoilers for the newest episode of @ask-whitepearl-and-steven's comic series, as well as my theories for the next episode with the title listed.

This is also a blind reaction, meaning I'm commentating on it as I am reading it for the first time!

(1-2)Starting off with Steven answering an ask! Looks like he's trying to find Garnet. I love how Steven comments on how Pearl and Amethyst's rooms are so closely connected, as it stays true to the canon, I also enjoy how Steven is unsure about how to find Garnet's room, because, just like in the canon, Steven found it by accident while trash diving with Ames.

(3)Third panel! Steven, my poor baby, mmm, lemme squish--anyways, I both love and hate his anxieties over asking Garnet about this, because, yea, it's a tough thing to have to talk about, especially after working so hard to gain their trust back after the reveal. Finding out that Coral was mostly Steven, with almost no (if any) Earl control would be a scary realization.

(4-7)AAAAAAAAaaa future vision :>

(8-9)I forgot for a moment that Jasper was poofed and was scared to see Garnet holding her bubbled gem. Maybe she didn't use future vision to see why he might think she would view him as a failure? Or maybe she's hiding it and trying to find the right words depending on what he says?

(10-11)I was sortof right? I am kinda glad that she couldn't see what he was going to ask, but, that begs the question, were there other things she saw revolving around questions Steven's going to ask? Also "ziplining across a void inside the temple" is 100% Steven XD

(12)Welp, nevermind, must have been thinking of the canon*Steven, oops ^^;;

(13-14)J a s p e r ! Bring her back! Maybe she'll get a redemption arc instead of Lapis and Peridot in this canon? That'd be so rad, and would honestly make so much sense, because basically everything is flipped on it's head in this AU, in the diamond crest, White was at the top, while Pink is at the bottom, so instead of the lowest Diamond giving birth, it was the highest. Instead of Steven learning his powers gradually, he was kinda sorta info dumped on once he realized he was still mind controlling Earl.

(15-16)O H M Y S T A R S did Garnet really just-*chokes* you're gonna make Steeb nervous qwq

(17-19)Steeb...I feel so bad for him, I really hope that Garnet can comfort him, help him, right now. Maybe she'll truly be the first Crystal Gem he really connects with (if my memory serves me correct, he's already kinda doing that with Amethyst, and Earl isn't technically a CG yet)

(20-21)Garnet help him! The look on her face though, she's confused, definitely. Maybe this was an unlikely path?

(22-24)MY FEELS!! I love how Garnet was trying to give advice, and Steven, being the anxious mess he is in this AU was all scared and is crying about turning out to be like his "past self" (because, you know, the reveal hasn't happened yet)

(25-26)Thank you Garnet, now help Steeb by telling him to talk to Earl! I know you're going to do it, I know you want to say it Garnet, just do it! Earl's the only one who can truly help in this situation, you can help with fusion, she can help comfort him!

(27-28)WHAT THE HECK! Garnet! Are you trying to help him, or crush his fragile little heart?!!

(29-30)Oh phew,,I thought this would be a lot darker, like, "your memories may be resurfacing in other ways" type shit, but, it's just talking about how powerful White was, and, yea, I get that it would be a confounding variable, and adding with the possibility that Steven may be unable to fuse with any gem makes a great story point, one that gives him the anxiety Lapis and Peridot have canon, Peridot is afraid of trying something new, or to lose herself in the fusion, while Lapis is afraid of hurting someone again.

(32)>.> I literally just mentioned Rose, how, in, the, hell-

(Next Episode Title: Fountain of Confessions) I think this will be about Steven and Rose having a heart-to-heart at Rose's Fountain. Maybe Steven talks about Coral, how scared he feels, and how he doesn't feel like he belongs because he's the only Diamond. Maybe Rose also confesses to some things about not trusting him at first, but how he's growing on her, as well as some hints to there being more about her than just a Rose Quartz. Maybe we'll even see Greg again! Ooo! What if Greg hints at his affair with White before he met Rose :0

Story of the Renegade gems part 2! Conflict and newbies

Clear quartz begins to train Rubellite so that she can learn to fight.

The first Renegade gems learned to hide when the warp pad flashed (they did this to avoid the war)

They eventually destroyed the warp pad by forming Mystic Topaz's cannon

Eventually a mysterious Pink bismuth arrived and told them to go with her or die. They go with her to her hidden base on mars.

They avoid the diamond's corruption blast and upon bismuth giving Rubellite's weapon an upgrade, fly back to earth

After about 3 years of peace, a jet and her onyx guards arrived on earth to wipe out any potential remaining rebel cells.

The onyx guards get poofed and jet poofs Rubellite. As a last ditch, Jet forced a yet to be reformed Rubellite to fuse with her into cinnabar

Cinnabar was eventually taken down, when Rubellite took control and allowed herself to be poofed

Jet was bubbled. Eventually they let her out and she regretfully joined the Renegades. (She and Rubellite have a great relationship now btw)

One fateful day, a large ship appeared to the Renegade base and out stepped Mookaite Jasper and Alexandrite. Two of the military generals of homeworld.

A battle insued, and the original renegade gems formed Rainbow Moonstone for the first time. They managed to poof and bubble alexandrite before Mookaite Jasper escaped.

Alexandrite was reformed and knowing this was her chance to get out from homeworld's thumb joined the Renegades as soon as she could.

Alexandrite and Jet found a sword in the desert with a gem embedded in the hilt. It could send slashes of multicolored light at a target.

The sword's gem was removed and the Renegade gems wanted to se if "she" was corrupted. Out popped a perfectly healthy Opal. "She" explained how "she" fell off a sky temple and was forced to fight in the war in the form of a gem harnessing sword. "She" actually identifies as a "He"

The gems get another visit from pink Bismuth who decides to take them to homeworld (they had no choice)

They meet a rebel sympathizer in the form of Olenite who helps them fend of Apricot agate and her peach and Tangerine quartz guards. She goes with them and joins the Renegades. She brings with her Aragonite and Howlite as well

They returned to earth only to learn that bismuth just wanted a specimen of gold and silver in order to create an artificial gem metal. She then left with no warning.

Aragonite and Howlite learn about male identity from Opal and feel like it suits them better. They reveal that they are a couple and fuse into Celestoberite

Opal unbubbles an Onyx guard that he has been secretly talking with for over a year. This gem identifies as male too. They are caught together by clear quartz but she lets onyx join the team

The Renegades are fully formed now

New life chapter 2 meeting the gems

"-THIS!" Crona screams but he stops as he looks around and he's in a house where one end it has rock interior with a door in the center and the rest of it is made of wood. Crona just looks up and down and though it was bit weird since the the whole thing didn't mix. Steven and Connie step down from the warp pad but Crona still remains on the warp pad. Steven notices this and looks at Crona

"you don't have to worry its safe," Steven assures him. Crona finally steps down from the warp pad and looks around he weird house.

"So um Steven w-w-where are we?" Crona asks

"Oh this is where I live," Steven responds, "what do you think?" he asks and Crona just looks around again before looking at Steven

"It looks nice. I guess." Crona says in a low tone

"well since your gonna be hear for a bit. Want something to eat? Drink?," Steven asks

"U-uhm no no," Crona responds on impulse with a shock face.

"Uh ok," Steven says. He found it a bit odd the way Crona reacted to the offer but he didn't want to press on so he decided to talk about something different subjects. "So uh what can you tell us about the place you live?" Steven asks hoping Crona knows what type of environment so they can narrow down the places he might live.

"uh I -I live in m-m-many places but t-the one I tend to live most was a place on a forest," Crona stutters in response. Connie starts to think of all the places where he could live and looks at steven

"Hey Steven do you have a globe or map around here," she asks

"oh yeah let me see," Steven says and he went through some of the cabinets. Steven looks through one of the cabinet on the side of his stairs. "hm lets see shoes, boxes, ug there you are," Steven takes a globe from the cabinet. He walks to Crona and presents the globe. "The Gems gave me this for my 6th birthday so that i can learn geography. So where do live?" asks as he brings the globe closer to Crona. Crona looks at the globe carefully and looks at the continents

"uhm I-I-I mostly live hear," Crona points at the US. Steven moves his head just enough to see where Crona pointed at and then looks at him

"Ok where in the US do you live?" Steven asks. Crona is about to point in the US but then the warp pad activates and all three look to see white light coming from the warp pad to see three female figures: one was tall, thin with white skin and her hair leading to a point in the back. The second one is short with purple skin, long lavender hair, she is wearing a black tank top and mauve color leggings. The third on is the tallest of the three she has maroon colored skin, has a cubed shape afro, is the most muscular of the three, she's also wearing a visor. What Crona realize is that all three were wearing a star symbol in their outfits and the thin one had a gem on her forehead while the short one had a gem on her chest but the bottom half is covered by her tank top

"Steven we-" the thin woman stops talking at the sight of Crona. "um Steve who's this?" she ask

"Oh sorry this is Crona," Steven says and then looks at Crona, "Crona, these three are the Crystal Gems," he says with a smile. Steven then walk toward the Gems, "This is Amethyst," Steven points to the short one

"Yo what up." Amethyst says

"This is Pearl." Steven says as he points to the thin one

"Greetings," Pearl greets with a smile

"And this is Garnet." Steven says as he points to the tall one

"Hello." Garnet greets in a stoic manner while adjusting her visor

"U-Uh hi I-I-I'm Crona," he stutters nervously. Amethyst walks towards Crona. She looks up and down taking a good look at him and smiles

"Yo whats with the weird get up," she says

"Amethyst!" Pearl says in an angered tone before calming down and looks at Crona with a smile. "I'm sorry she can be a bit immature," she says with the last word having a dark tone. While Amethyst doesn't seems to care and sticks out her tongue at Pearl.

"Try to behave Amethyst," Garnet says, "So Steven care to explain everthing," she asks

"Well Connie and I were trying to watch the new episode of Crying Breakfest Friends when we got a video call from Peridot. She says she and Lapis were being attack but it turns out it was just Crona. In fact he's the one being attack by Peridot but things calmed down we found out that Crona came to the barn by accident. From what Peridot told us it's by a flash of light." Steven explains

"He also says he can find his way home but he needs to be in a certain place in order to get home," Connie explains. Getting the gist of the situation Pearl turns to Crona

"Oh your just lost. Well don't worry we'll get you back to your home," Pearl says with a smile

"o-o-oh ok thanks," Crona stutters while looking down. In the meanwhile Garnet approaches Steven.

"Is there anything you else you know about him?" Garnet asks him

"Uh not much else really. Oh he was about to show were he lived until you guys show up," Steven explains

"Alright what did you use?" she asks and Steven presents her with his globe. While Steven tells Garnet on how Crona lives somewhere in the US. Unbeknownst to the two, Crona is overhearing their conversation, he sighs in relief. He's glad that these people are helping him get back home. Once he's back he find out what happened to him and Rag-

'Oh no Ragnarok!' he screams in his mind, his pupils expand and starts to chatter his teeth and looks down, "Oh no Ragnarok." he whimpers. Steven, Connie and the Gems note on Crona's sudden reaction and are starting to feel concern for him. Connie walks up to him and gently grabs his shoulder

"Hey is something wrong?" Connie asks

"Ra-ra-Ragnarok," Crona stutters

"Who's ragnarok?" Pearl asks

"Right we forgot to mention that. You see Crona told us that Ragnarok is his weapon partner that comes out of his back," Connie explains but after saying that she began to think about it and looks at Crona, "uhm Crona can you explain on who Ragnarok is?" she asks

"H-h-he's my blood," Crona states. Connie gives Crona an odd look and wanted to tell him 'are you serious' but decides to take a much more gentler approach

"OK Crona can you explain that a little bit more please," she asks

"You see h-h-he lives in m-m-my body and he c-c-comes out of my back. Also m-m-my blood is black," Crona stutters. After hearing that, Connie is left dumbfounded. The way Crona explains everything, even though he stutters, he seems to be telling the truth. Connie wanted to know a bit more but she stops when she hears Amethyst laughs

"HAHAHAHAHAAHAHAAAHA" Amethyst laughs as she rolls on the floor, "Aggh i-i wow you haha you can't make that stuff up." she says as her body lights up and she morphs her body to resemble crona and got up and walks in front of him. Crona himself was speechless as he's staring at himself but being light lilac. "You see he lives in my body and he comes out my back. Also my blood is black hahahahahaha," she laughs and smacks her right hand on the right side of her head

"AMETHYST!" Pearl screams. Amethyst looks at Pearl as her face looks like it would explode form anger and morphs back to herself normal self. Pearl then looks at Crona with a soft look, "I'm sorry for her behavior hehe," she chuckles nervously. "I'm sure your just a bit confused. Based on how you got here, I believe your mind got scrambled," she says with an innocent smile on her face.

"Y-y-you don't believe me?" Crona asks

"Well it's certainly not possible for a human such as yourself to have all the things that you just described," Pearl responds

Crona sighs. He should have know that people wouldn't believe in what he said even if he tells them. Yet this time it was different. Normally Ragnarok would appear and say something rude and bully him by now but what happened. Crona starts to think of the worst case scenario on what if. What if he lost Rag-

"UUUUUUUUUUUUUUGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH"

Everyone stood still and have their eyes wide open after hearing that groaning sound come out of nowhere

"UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHH"

The groan was louder and Connie, Steven, and the Gems are looking directly at Crona.

"R-Ragnarok?" he asks as he looks up. All of a sudden black liquid spews out of Crona's back. Amethyst grabs Connie and brings her at least 5 feet away from Crona. The liquid itself still connected to Crona's back begins to solidify as it morphs into a muscular, humanoid figure with an egg shape head. It has an x in the middle of its face with large ping-pong ball like eyes with x's as pupils, has gloved hands, spikes on his back, and no mouth . It also starts to rub it's head. While everyone just stares in horror at the sight of the thing, Crona sighs in relief. "R-Ragnarok your okay?" he asks. Apparently called Ragnarok, he looks down at Crona with an annoyed look

"Do I look okay to you?" Ragnarok asks with an angered tone. Ragnarok then proceeds to pull on Crona's lips and gives him a noogie

"Ow ow Ragnarok Stop," Crona pleads

"First of all I got a massive headache. Second where the fuck are we?", Ragnarok points out while looking around the house while still bullying Crona. Ragnarok finally notices Steven, Connie and the Gems. "AND WHO THE FUCK ARE THEY!" he yells.

Steven, Connie and Amethyst were just wide eyed at the sight of Ragnarok. Pearl is making gasping noises and Garnet clench her fist and got in front on Steven to protect him.

"Hey bitches mind telling were the fuck were at?" Ragnarok asks rudely while still bullying Crona. Connie recovers from her shock and looks directly at Ragnarok

"Hey!" she shouts and Ragnarok stops bullying Crona and looks at Connie. "Stop that!" she states and Ragnarok let's go of Crona and arches forward

"Stop what?" Ragnarok asks in a mocking tone.

"Stop bullying him. Also what are you?" Connie asks as she tilts her head to the side. Ragnarok didn't answer at first instead he looks at Crona, who in turn look at him as well

"I-i-i told them y-y-your my weapon p-partner and y-y-your in my blood and t-that's it's black," Crona explains. Ragnarok then turns back to Connie and crosses his arms

"There, everything that pinky just said is what I am." Ragnarok says

"Alright maybe I asked the wrong question," Connie says to herself but loud enough for everyone to hear. She was about ask Ragnarok another question before he spoke

"Hey I got a great question. WHERE THE FUCK ARE WE!" he yells. The Gems feeling the situation getting more hostile, they summon their weapons and make sure that Connie and Steven are behind them. Ragnarok and Crona can feel things are getting a bit worse and are tense up.

"Wow we got ourselves some bad asses over here," Ragnarok says with his hands in the air. "Hey Crona lets show them what were made of," he says as he morphs into a broadsword. Crona prepares to fight until Steven screams

"STOP!" he screams and everyone stops and look at Steven. Steven looks at Crona and Ragnarok. "Ragnarok you want to know where your at?" Steven asks and Crona's sword manifest lips just above the guard

"Yeah that's all I want to know," Ragnarok responds

"Ok you two are in Beach City, Delmarva," Steven says while giving an odd look over Ragnarok's sword mode

"Alright then," and Ragnarok morphs back into his humanoid form. "Now tell me how the hell Crona and I got here," he demands

"well you two came from flash of light," Steven explains

"Flash of light. Really?" Ragnarok says and looks down at Crona. "How the hell did that happen?" he asks

"I-I-I don't know. I-I d-d-don't remembered," Crona responds causing Ragnarok slaps himself in the face

"Great. Just great." Ragnarok complains

"b-but they s-s-said they're going to help us," Crona says

"well at least you did something right," Ragnarok says rudely and looks at Steven, "alright fatty help us out so I can go back to eating souls," he states causing Pearl to get angry at Ragnarok

"You fowl mouth creature!" she says in an angered tone and walks closer to Ragnarok's face and point her index finger in front of him . "Apologize to Steven," she threatens. An anime tick mark appears on Ragnarok's forehead as he's getting more agitated

"Get your finger OUT OF MY FACE YOU BIRD HAG!" he screams

"Ughh," Pearl says in disgust. She's really getting angry at Ragnarok and was ready to attack him until Garnet puts her hand on Pearl's shoulder.

"Ignore him. The sooner we help them, the sooner they'll leave," Garnet explains

"Uh fine", Pearl grumbles and walks away from Ragnarok. Crona sighs in relief as things finally calms down at least he doesn't have to hurt anyone. Ragnarok pokes Crona's head to get his attention

"W-what?", Crona asks

"Yeah I just notice something," Ragnarok says

"What is it?" Crona asks

"What's with those chicks being all weird looking." Ragnarok says while pointing his thumb at Pearl as an example.

"Well look who's talking. You come out of that guy's back," Amethyst points out. Ragnarok was about to say something before Crona spoke

"T-t-their G-G-Gems." Crona says

"Gems?" Ragnarok asks

"T-t-their aliens," Crona responds leaving Ragnarok a bit baffle

"Aliens? Really?" Ragnarok asks as he looks at the Gems closely. He remain silent before bursting out laughing. "HAHAHAHAHA. Wow th-this is new: witches, monsters, demon weapons, soul eating, and now aliens. Wow you learn something new everyday. HAHAHAHA," he laughs. Crona looks down embarrass over Ragnarok's behavior. Steven, Connie, and the Gems look at the two with an odd look. Connie and Steven look at each other and both shrug their shoulders. Garnet rubs her chin and walks towards Ragnarok and Crona

"What are you talking about?" Garnet asks while crossing her arms and Ragnarok looks at her

"uh witches, monsters, demon weapons, and oh yeah I forgot eating souls!" Ragnarok says in anger tone while using his fingers to count off all the things he says. "What do you think I'm talking about." he finish. Steven is scratching his head. Now things are getting much more complicated, Steven can't wrap his mind of what Ragnarok is saying. Steven focus his attention to Crona.

"Hey Crona uhm how normal is all the stuff that Ragnarok is saying?" Steven asks

"Pretty normal," Crona responds without stuttering and without any problem

"Yeah its pretty normal, fatty. Its as normal as breathing and as normal as the sun and moon laughing," Ragnarok states while laying his elbow on Crona's head. Now everyone is just confuse. Connie is just trying to understand if Crona and Ragnarok were telling the truth or was good at lying.

"laughing sun and moon? That's NOT NORMAL!" she yells causing Crona and Ragnarok to look at her with wide eyes. Connie then starts to think of what to say and remembers that Crona showed up by a flash of light. In that moment she starts to piece things together and turns back to Crona and Ragnarok. "Um I want you two to follow me," she says and she leads them outside. Crona and Ragnarok look around as they were in a beach and they walk down the steps. When they got down both of them look behind them and see that the house they were in and behind it was a giant statue of a woman with 4 arms spread out and 4 surrounding the house. Two hands on the left and one on the bottom right are gone. Crona is amaze by the statue's appearance while Ragnarok just scoffs it off for being a shitty statue. Once they reach the sand, Connie turns to Crona and looks above him. "Crona please look at the moon," she says while pointing above him

"Why w-wha-" Crona stops talking and is in shock as he sees the moon

"Hey Crona what are y-" Ragnarok mouth appears and his jaw drops at the sight of the moon. It was round and had no laughing face. Crona couldn't believe what he was seeing why is the moon round. Where was the it's face? Crona starts to gasping for air. All of a sudden he remembers how no one knew a thing of what he was saying. How everyone just look at him and Ragnarok with confusion and more importantly the flash of light he came through. Crona piece everything together and now knows what's going on. He and Ragnarok are in another Earth.

Ophelia Novikoff was royalty. Well, not quite, but her life was treated as such. She was the princess of Hollywood; a perfect gem in the west coast’s crown. Her father was beloved, a well-known actor who lived in a mansion by the ocean. To Ophelia, though, he was only dad. They were close, especially because Lia’s mother tragically passed away when she was only a year old. Her dad, devastated, only turned his love to his daughter. He’s never remarried, although he’s had a string of girls that Ophelia teases him about often.

Her mother was a poet, an English major who met Patrick by chance while visiting Los Angeles. Ophelia would later go on to follow in her mother’s footsteps, but it was Patrick who introduced her to books. They would read together on the back porch, watching the waves as they crashed. He would read to her in his trailer on set, or on the planes to location. Ophelia went everywhere with her father. He was her best friend.

Life went on, and soon Ophelia’s teenage years became the subject of the tabloids. It wasn’t long before she was learning how to sneak out; how to hide under hats. When her father tried to get her in acting lessons, she rebelled. Ophelia didn’t care to follow in her father’s footsteps. However, it was this time in her life that Lia found out just how angry she could really be. The photogs instantly got in her head, and there were many articles about the young Novikoff’s temper.

The negative attention caused Ophelia to break off from her world. Patrick moved them to New York City when Lia was accepted to Columbia and for a while, her life was safe. Of course, it wasn’t long before the paparazzi figured out where they’d gone. One night, as she was trying to get home from school, a man with a camera attacked her, forcing her into a dark alley before she could get into her car. For the next week she wouldn’t leave her room, and the whole ordeal was shoved under the rug, the photographer quietly going to jail.

Ophelia was infuriated. It was the summer just after her freshman year of college at Columbia. Life was supposed to be better here. She began taking classes; karate, krav maga, kickboxing. But it wasn’t enough. She soon started to turn to harder substances, white chalk that would take away the anger and the night terrors. The only reason she stopped was because she was found, half alive, in her bedroom by her father’s maid while he was out on location.

While she’s been clean for years now, Ophelia still can’t quite shake the feeling of those days. She survived merely with the help of her father and a few close friends. There were days when it felt like her world might not keep turning, but it did. Lia graduated; went to grad school. She wrote acclaimed essays about Shakespeare, following in her mother’s footsteps. Ophelia even appeared in a film with her father, much against her will, but it won her a Golden Globe nomination.

Life was going well. Better than that, even. Ophelia finally had enough time to open a bookstore, Heaven & Earth, in the Upper East Side. She lives above it in a flat that she shares with her dog, a corgi named Puck. Her dad would come over often, visiting New York for business and also for his new productions (as he’d recently stopped acting and started producing more often)

She supposed the good couldn’t last. A scandal rocked New York and, while Ophelia knew of her father’s ties to Russia, of their family’s ties, she never knew quite how tied they were. Her grandfather, of a different name than her father, was arrested, due to ties to Bratva. When she confronted her father about it, she only learned that he had been part of this horrible family. That he had been running the syndicate in New York. While his father, one she had never met, was the only one caught, Ophelia felt as though she had been put in prison herself.

Ophelia is lost but trying to hide the fact. Knowing that her father was not who he said he was, finding out that her whole life had been nothing but a lie, has forced her to retreat even further than she ever has. While she can’t turn him in, can’t give him up quite yet, she can punish him. She kept up appearances, occasionally made her way past her father’s building as to make it look like she were still visiting. But right now, she couldn’t look him in the eye without seeing devil’s horns.

And then, the dark thoughts set in. What if she became like him? What if she was pulled into his darkness? She almost instantly went back to cocaine; went back to a world of hurt; a world that would only make things worse. She started therapy, hoping that it would help, but really the only thing that truly helped was exercising. It’s potentially to a destructive point but Ophelia didn’t know how to cut herself off completely. For now she immersed herself in her books, in her gym, and began writing a new essay. One about Shakespeare’s fathers and daughters. One that might lead to a novel of her own. After all, even in the darkest of times, she found herself hoping for light.

The Escape IIS Treasure is a powerful timekeeper driven by the force of Purnell’s ground-breaking double-Spherion movement, designed and developed by Purnell in collaboration with master watchmaker Eric Coudray. To adapt what is today the world’s fastest triple-axis tourbillon to a feminine wrist without giving up any of its power, Purnell redesigned its Escape II, the world’s first double Spherion movement. What is more, Purnell added to its exceptional new timepiece, a feature that is a world premiere: a pair of tourbillon cages set with gemstones. This extraordinary feat of nanotechnology combined with precision gem-setting know-how has never before been achieved in watchmaking history. As such, the Escape IIS Treasure is a nod to the gem-set timekeepers worn by women in the 17th century, and an exercise in high style that marries the elegance of a precious wristwatch with the technical prowess packed inside Purnell’s double-Spherion mechanism, alive in a perpetual dance of diamonds.

The new Escape IIS Treasure collection offers a choice of four new versions, each customizable upon request. Each version comes with a skeletonized movement, a 32-hour power reserve, and a 44mm case made smaller for a feminine wrist. Two versions, the Treasure Diamond and the Treasure Rainbow are set with diamonds or “rainbow” gemstones on their tourbillon cages, while two more versions also feature a case and dial fully set with baguette-cut diamonds or “rainbow” gemstones. Across this collection, the sparkle of gemstones enhances the visual spectacle of the double Spherions visible through a custom-crafted monobloc sapphire glass, setting a new standard for grand complications for women.

A New Addition to Purnell’s Double Spherion Family

Specialized in gravity-defying tourbillons since it was founded in 2006, Purnell introduced its “Spherion” – a triple-axis tourbillon – in 2017 in the Escape I model. That Spherion construction, designed by Purnell in collaboration with Eric Coudray, featured a triple-axis tourbillon mechanism rotating at higher velocities than any existing triple-axis tourbillon. Its movement relied on the Potter Escapement which Eric Coudray modified in part by adding “internal teeth” to its escapement wheel, to improve performance and reduce energy consumption. Purnell’s Spherion became then the world’s fastest triple-axis tourbillon.

Eric Coudray explains the Spherion construction in a few words:

“The idea behind putting three cages inside one another was to create a regulating organ, which would neutralize the effect of gravity on the balance wheel and therefore improve the accuracy of the watch accuracy. And to achieve a relatively fast rotating speed, we used a pretty old escapement called “Potter” dating from 1875.”

As for the purpose of high-rotating speeds, Eric Coudray says:

“There are two goals. The first is to have an object that looks alive and visually attractive; the second is to improve the escapement regulation. The working principle is to have a fixed escapement wheel and, on the cage that holds the balance wheel, you will only find the anchor (and not the escapement wheel). This is unlike a traditional tourbillon where in the same cage, you would find the escapement gear, the anchor and the balance wheel.”

Two years later, Eric Coudray and his team successfully developed the Escape II, the next iteration of Purnell’s Escape collection. The Escape II unveiled in late 2019 offered Purnell’s clients something completely unexpected: an intricately-designed movement powered by not one, but two counter-rotative Spherions inside two tourbillon cages rotating in opposite directions on exactly the same path.

Fitting the double-Spherions into the movement required two years of development for the watchmakers to rethink the caliber construction and 386 components in their entirety. Fourteen months were required to develop the single-piece sapphire glass and side-viewing windows positioned by the lugs at 6 o’clock, to enhance the experience of full visibility onto the two high-speed Spherions.

Few objects are as timelessly precious as a handcrafted, gem-set timepiece. That fact is just as true today as it was four centuries ago when the first brilliant-set timekeepers appeared on the wrists of elegant society women. Modern women, however, embrace not just the beauty of precious stones, they also appreciate the technical intricacies of a highly complicated mechanical timepiece.

With its own sophisticated, female collector-base in mind, Purnell has designed the Escape IIS Treasure as the quintessence of the spectacular, powered by its highvelocity Spherions that come alive in a mesmerizing dance inside their gem-set tourbillon cages.

Diamond Set Spherion Cages

For the first time in watchmaking history, the Escape IIS Treasure features tourbillon cages with arms set with gemstones. The task of gem-setting the tiny arms raised its own set of challenges. First, the surface on the arms of the tourbillon cages had to be increased to create enough space to set 152 brilliant-cut gemstones on each outer cage. For that, Purnell redesigned the tourbillon cages with a wider arm architecture without compromising either the precision or the function of the Spherions, or reducing the 32-hour power reserve.

In its feminine iteration, the new model had to be imminently wearable. For that, the case size of the Escape IIS Treasure – the “S” standing for “small” – was reduced to 44mm, down from the 48mm of the Escape II, its predecessor. Next, the overall weight of the cages was re-balanced, given the added weight of the diamonds. The weight of the movement was maintained at just 15.7 grams with each Spherion weighing a mere 0.831 grams.

Finally, gem-setting on the robust titanium for the cages posed a significant challenge, yet it was one that Purnell overcame by calling upon the skills of its talented gem-setting artisans using extreme precision to apply special technique adapted to titanium.

Path of the Green Witch – Part III

In parts one and two of this series, we examined what a green witch is, and isn’t. Now we start to get into the “meat of the topic”.

For me, being a green witch means a very close relationship with the nature around me, no matter where that may be. While I currently live in the mountain desert of New Mexico (my very own “Land of Enchantment”) I have lived in many places throughout the world. Each one has its own special environment, and as such the “nature” of each place changes. From my time near Stonehenge to the forests of the Ozarks, to the Pacific coast, I have always been attuned to nature.

Of course, there are certain parts of nature that always have a strong tie to any green witch, and one of those parts are her trees. You see, trees are rooted to the Earth. They are strong, yet depend on nature to provide food, water, and sunlight. They are just like the animals (including humans) that live, procreate and die, all within the confines of Mother Nature.

So, what trees does the green witch relate to? Well all of them, but here are some significant ones for any green witch.

Trees are the pillars of our world. They anchor our ground and seem to hold up the sky. They form the backbone of the green witch’s practice. While we tend to focus on herbs, we also work with wood, often when something more physically stable or permanent is required. The green witch’s staff and stang, for example, are made of wood, as is the more traditional witch’s tool, the wand.

Sticks and twigs form the basis of many protective amulets, as do rounds cut from the cross-section of branches and inscribed with symbols. Trees also have many practical uses, such as supporting plants and serving as natural fences. Wood is also used to build homes and furniture.

Following are sixteen trees of use to the green witch, plus some associated lore. These trees grow in various areas of North America. The parts of trees used include bark, leaves, and inner wood.

BIRCH (BETULA SPP.)

The traditional witch’s broom is made of birch twigs. Magically, birch is associated with cleansing, protection, and purification. It is also associated with children; cradles were often made of birch wood.

OAK (QUERCUS ROBUR)

Oak is one of those traditional woods that are firmly entrenched in folklore; it is magically associated with defense, thunder, strength, courage, healing, longevity, protection, and good fortune. Because the wood is very strong and durable and possesses a certain reputation for indestructibility, oak has been used in home construction and in shipbuilding. The bark is used to tan leather and as a dye. Acorns, the fruit of the oak tree, are symbols of fertility. When found growing in oak trees, mistletoe was considered to be particularly potent by the druids and important in their magical work.

MAPLE (ACER SPP.)

Maple is another popular tree used for cabinetry and by artisans. It is also a source of dye and maple sugar. Magically, maple is used for love, prosperity, life and health, and general abundance.

PINE (PINUS SPP.)

Commonly used in building and construction, the pine is one of the most widely found trees in North America. Its resin is used for the creation of turpentine and soaps, and the production of rosin. Amber, one of the most beloved gems for magical jewelry, is fossilized pine sap. Pine oil, another product of the pine tree, is commonly added to household cleansing products, proof that the scent is associated with a sense of purification. Magically, pine is used for cleansing and purification, healing, clarity of mind, prosperity, and protection from evil.

CEDAR (THUJA OCCIDENTALIS—WHITE CEDAR; CUPRESSUS NOOTKATENSIS—YELLOW CEDAR; JUNIPERUS VIRGINIANA—RED CEDAR)

Another precious wood that is recognized by many cultures as magical and powerful, cedar has been known throughout the ages for its protective qualities as well as its ability to repel insects and pests. With its aromatic scent, cedar was often given as an offering. Yellow cedar, found in North America, grows in a roughly conical shape and is often used in hedges. The other kind of cedar found in North America is the red cedar (Juniperus virginiana). Magically, cedar is associated with healing, spirituality, purification, protection, prosperity, and harmony.

ROWAN (PYRUS AUCUPARIA, SORBUS AUCUPARIA)

Rowan is also known as quicken, hornbeam, witchwood, and mountain ash (although it is technically not a true ash, it is so called due to the similarity of the leaves). Rowan berries have been used in brewing and the bark has been used for tanning and as a dye. Curiously, rowan is said to be either a favorite of witches and fairies or anathema to them. Magical associations include improving psychic powers, divination, healing, protection from evil, peace, creativity, success, and change and transformation.

POPLAR (POPULUS SPP.)

Also known as aspen, poplar’s magical associations include prosperity, communication, exorcism, and purification.

ASH (FRAXINUS EXCELSIOR)

Ash is one of the trees considered by some European cultures to be the World Tree. Magically, ash is associated with water, strength, intellect, willpower, protection, justice, balance and harmony, skill, travel, weather, and wisdom.

WILLOW (SALIX ALBA)

The white willow, also known as the weeping willow, has long flexible branches that are woven into what we know as wicker-work. Long associated with the moon, the willow has a great affinity for water and is often found growing near it. In folklore, the willow is associated with the Goddess and feminine cycles. Thanks to the ability of cuttings to easily and quickly recover from trauma, willow is also associated with growth and renewal. Magical associations of willow include love, tranquility, harmony, protection, and healing.

WITCH HAZEL (HAMAMELIS VIRGINIANA)

Also known as snapping hazelnut, for the spontaneous cracking open of its seedpods, witch hazel has long been used as a poultice for bruises and swellings. Witch hazel extracts are used for their astringent properties. Magical associations include protection, healing, and peace.

HONEYSUCKLE (LONICERA CAPRIFOLIUM, LONICERA PERICLYMENUM)

Also known as woodbine or hedge-tree, the honeysuckle is associated with liminal or transitional states. The scent of honeysuckle flowers is strongest in the evening. Magical associations include psychic awareness, harmony, healing, prosperity, and happiness.

APPLE (PYRUS MALUS)

Apple trees are found all over the Northern Hemisphere. Their widespread availability and fertile abundance bring to mind their association with life, longevity, and fertility. The fruit is used in cooking, baking, and brewing. Folklore associates the apple with the afterlife, fairies, creativity, and the otherworld. Magically, apples and apple trees are associated with love, healing, harmony, and longevity.

ELDER (SAMBUCUS CANADENSIS, SAMBUCUS NIGRA)

Elder is also known as witchwood. It is said that bad luck will fall upon anyone who does not ask the tree’s permission three times before harvesting any part of it. Folklore associates the elder with the crone aspect of the Goddess and with witches, and thus elder wood is rarely used to make furniture or as firewood for fear of incurring their wrath. Medicinally, elder bark is used as a diuretic, purgative, and emetic. The berries are used as a laxative and diuretic and also induce perspiration, and the leaves are used as an external emollient for irritated skin, sprains, and bruises. An infusion of elderflowers taken as a tea encourages the body to perspire, thus helping the body to work through a cold or illness, and also helps loosen chest and sinus congestion. Elderflower water makes an excellent topical application for irritated skin, including problems such as sunburn and acne, as well as an eyewash. Magically, elder wood is associated with protection (especially against being struck by lightning), prosperity, and healing.

YEW (TAXUS BACCATA)

Yew is poisonous, which may be one of the reasons it is so closely associated with death. It is a European tree that figures largely in the lore of witchcraft and natural magic. The yew produces a very hard wood and was used where construction required an unyielding, inflexible structure. Magically, it is associated with spirits and the otherworld.

HAWTHORN (CRATAEGUS OXYACANTHA)

Also known as may tree, mayflower, thorn, whitethorn, and haw, the hawthorn shrub was often used as a boundary marker. In fact, “haw” is an old word for hedge. Hawthorn is a magical tree. If it grows together with an oak and ash tree, it is said that the fairy folk can be seen among the trees. Even where it grows alone, hawthorn is considered to be a fairy favorite. Like oak, the hawthorn produces hard wood and great heat when burned. Magical associations include fertility, harmony, happiness, the otherworld, and protection.

HAZEL (CORYLUS AVELLANA)

The hazel tree has long been associated in European folklore with wisdom. Gods and mythological figures associated with the hazel include Thor, Brigid, and Apollo. The nuts and branches are used for magic, and the hazel is associated with luck, fertility, protection, and wish granting.
