It’s interesting that Peter doesn’t recognize MJ in the hypothetical first chapter you put up!!! Do you have thoughts on why that is? Is it just the dark? When does he realize?
Good question! Peter has perfect night-vision, so even in the dark he could see her in high def 4k. But the reason he didn't make the connection is that his MJ and this MJ look like they're from totally different worlds. (haha)
Mary Jane (Peter's OG girl) is half-Filipino. She's tall and thin (almost gaunt) and has fire-engine red hair that comes straight from the bottle. Her eyes are also naturally dark. She was very much a goth/alt girl style, and is pierced/tatted much in the same way Peter is.
Meanwhile, Emma Jean (AKA Scarlet) is shorter and much curvier, more ripped because of her job. She's much paler and a natural red-head with traditionally green eyes. Her style also trends more towards 'insta-baddie'.
The biggest visual similarity they have is a penchant for gold jewelry- though Mary leaned towards rose-gold while Emma likes yellow-gold.
Peter realizes Emma Jean is this world's Mary Jane half a week into his job at Margaret's, when she drops her full name. (He's just known her as Emma up until then.)
He very valiantly keeps it together for her full shift while penciling in a breakdown for later that evening.

#it's oh no because no one appreciates her often not even the narrative#i call it the blanche brier effect#it sometimes is paired with the rose brier effect where i have to fight against resenting the outgoing sister everyone loves#(this effect has lessened with the brier sisters for me but it's still a point of comparison)#i read the first chapter of 'no name' and it's delightful because it has a wonderful pair of these sisters#so far it seems that both are being appreciated so i love both#but i am concerned with how the story is going to go#(also it doesn't have to be literal sisters just two girls who are the same age and presented as a contrasting pair)#books#victober

fuckign obsessed with sabigiyu... sabito's tough and snarky and brash when hes around people but then see him with giyuu and hes the biggest fucking puppy... constantly touching and being affectionate whenever he can, harshly stopping/snapping at anyone who tries to badmouth giyuu or even looks at him wrong, always glancing back when hes talking looking for giyuu's attention and recognition- he so freely displays his love and its just so sickeningly sweet to anyone around as witness
giyuu's a youngest child too, you know he'd eat that shit up. he fucking loves how much sabito spoils him- the occasional time sabito tries to be stern or ignores him all he has to do is bat his eyes and raise the corners of his mouth and sabito near immediately caves to whatever he wants. anything to see giyuu's full smile, and giyuu never hesitates with him
they know exactly what the other wants at a given moment, know when to be soft and sweet or when to be rough and wild- quietly sitting together close enough for their thighs to touch and enjoying the warmth of eachother's presence to playfully pushing buttons until the other snaps and gives their full attention to grappling the other to the ground. they'd both stop at the drop of a dime for the other for whatever reason needed, lovingly teasing and calling the other an idiot the whole way out

Hermione bought both Harry and Ron cell phones.
Harry of course knows how to use one just never had any use for one until meeting them at Hogwarts. Harry hides it under his floorboards at the Dursley’s. only using it at night after everyone has gone to bed. And Ron thinking this is a new type of magic Hermione invented.
Harry bought Hermione an Owl and Ron a new Broom kit
Ron is delighted. He loves the hand me down set but is so delighted to have one of his own. Hermione is touched by Harry’s gift and names her Athena.
Ron gets Harry a new pair of Quidditch Goggles that work like his glasses, and Hermione the new set of potions books she’s been eyeing.
The goggles were something harry never thought he needed and he is grateful. Hermione is touched by Rons thoughtfulness.

my coworker is so nice omg.....i've always admired her style too :'))
#she's so bubbly and outgoing with the kids i admire that a lot.....they really love being in her presence#thinking back to when i first started i tried so hard to emulate the other teachers#but it didn't feel genuine#it really is true that everyone has their own way od teaching#im very much like. no nonsense hgkshfjd but i do joke around as well. i def don't have the energy of some of the other teachers#i'll talk to the second graders the same way i talk to the eighth graders.....i can't change my tone like that#for september i stopped teaching online and my boss told me all the parents were asking for me back hgkshfjsh#so im glad im doing something right#but we do have fun and some of my kids are so cute telling me about their day :') and one of my students always tells me#how much she likes my scarf even though it's the same one i wear every week....she's adorable#tbh i am very comfortable being strict with the kids now when the time calls for it. i couldn't do it before

as fun as that was, and i would never stop doing fun gift art for the world
its disheartening, and hurts, to try and get engagement from people. to struggle to get asks for weeks. and i know im not the most active blogger, but as soon as i offer free art, i get swamped with asks. where is that beforehand? i dont know what to say entirely, it just makes me depressed. the fact that people are so quick to jump on my ask memes but wont talk to me or this blog otherwise. i dont know what to do
I don’t want to tell anyone that it’s bad to ask for it, or that it’s bad to receive it. Because that’s not what I’m trying to say. But it just sucks to get low engagement and people only interact with you to receive art, often without giving you anything in some way. It’s fine if it happens sometimes, but it’s exhausting when it’s repeated. It makes you feel like people only want you for free gifts that you put time and effort into but won’t give you the same effort
I guess I’d just like to encourage everyone to send regular asks to each other, even if it’s on anon. That’s all I’d want to see not even just for myself but mostly for others
#again I know I’m not super active or have the most posts#but I’ve had this blog for 3 years and have been in the community since 2018#again it was really fun but considering that I barely get anything for my regular Mundays and have to make regular ask calls#I guess I’m not really asking for much#even if people giving each other stuff like equal attention is my ideal#but I suppose if this trend keeps continuing and I post less stuff like the drawing meme#you’ll know why#I have an ask answer ready to post tomorrow too#my life has just been crazy but Khaos has always had such a chill blog to update#im quite shy and I know I’m not very outgoing but I’ve been around for 5+ years and this just keeps happening#I’m not blaming anyone either or anything this isn’t targeted or whatever#but I’m just already dealing with stuff and I wanted to say something finally#I don’t like making posts like this but I guess I deserve to be able to for once#this is also not the first time it’s happened it happens with a lot of memes I post that are art related so yknow
