it’s canon to me that anakin skywalker and marshall commander fox are archnemeses of a shakespearean nature to eachother

why? well, fox’ life is a tragedy of galactic proportions. he’s a slave at best and straight up non-sentient property at worst, caught at the crossroads of being the face of the republic’s most corrupt establishment to his brothers who resent him for being forced to bear an authority he has no actual control over, and being the closest and easiest target for that very authority’s ire. made to enforce the rigged and deeply unjust laws against his own oppressed peoples, and no one understands better than fox how much coruscant truly despises them. the chancellor at the heart of it all, and anakin, the favored pupil - taken in by the flattery and empty promises like all the rest of them, the jedi most intimately connected to the senate who yet cares so little to know the clones who shed their blood in it every day that he never sees beyond his own very nose. no one asks the guard what they think, and fox despises them all for it, but the jedi who play at caring more than anything. it’s an impersonal, distanced dislike for the most part, but with skywalker it burns all the brighter for how often fox sees him walk the halls of the senate and never think to ask.

I feel like sw as a whole puts a decent amount of effort into making sure charecters are out of the picture for major events (Ahsoka being presumed dead during tot, Ezra vanishing into wild space, all of rouge one, etc) it mostly happens with force users for obous reasons but...

Idk I feel like they don't nessacarally need to do that? Like there's an easy answer to "if x was alive why didn't they show up during y event" and it's "they were busy" they don't need to be dead or presumed dead to be otherwise preoccupied. We didn't even see all that much of the rebelion in tot (at least as far as named characters go) and there was other stuff to do even with the death star.

Maybe they were doing other stuff off screen, or running other mishions? I really don't get why this question is such a big deal?

Surprisingly enough, and utterly counterintuitively, Mercy gets more physical interaction during Clone Wars than he ever did in the Jedi Order pre-war as clone troopers wear their armors (especially helmets on which have built-in filtration/rebreathing systems) most of the time which makes Mercy less hell-bent on keeping his distance.

I do wonder about the clones' resistance to addictions because I feel like in the fandom we casually mention stims so much as a method of staying awake on campaigns or getting work done or whatever. and so in my head the clones are like just being continuously fed methamphetamines world war 2 style for weeks. And post-battle the medics have got to just be throwing injured brothers a jar of painkillers and telling them to gtfo of the medbay if they aren't bleeding out. Right?

It's probably reasonable to assume that the genetic element of addiction was programmed out by the Kaminoans, but the clones can still get drunk, so we must assume they can also get high. There's only so much you can do to stave off dependency, so just ... idk, I do wonder about overdose rates in the GAR. The sociocultural norms and structures that'll have popped up around substances in clone culture. Coping mechanisms for bad days, bad battles, old injuries that never quite healed right. What the illicit GAR drug trade looks like- spice and liquid death sticks skimmed off Sep pirate freighters; cases of expired stims thrown away and then retrieved from the trash. Clones with shakes on shore leave, descending into the skug holes of Coruscant trying to find a cheap high to replace what they lose when they're not bouncing between fronts. Hoping they don't get gutted and left for dead down there, where their battalion won't find them, where a clone body is just more debris.

I love (hate) how Dark Disciple Clone Wars arc & the book acknowledged Asajj's character and depth like once or twice then called it a day. They did not care for her other than that, she was only there to uplift Quinlan's character the rest of it

I’ve seen a good amount of ideas about Eldritch Force Cryptid Anakin Skywalker. Which is great! He is canonically 1/2 Force, and I love seeing the silly and terrifying effects that might have! But. Y’see. The Twins are both 1/4 Force. And they have no idea what’s possible. For instance.

Leia knows that the Force can be used to absorb blaster fire the way Vader did at Cloud City. Luke knows that the only limits put upon the Force are the ones the user put there. What if some Imperial fuckface put together a third Death Star, say, 3-5 years after RotJ? And decided that the first target would be Hosnian Prime (or whatever the capital of the New Republic is at that point), and waited until Like was there visiting Leia, so as to take out the biggest political and practical issues at the same time? So Highest Grand Moff His Imperial Fuckface pops out of hyperspace at just the right moment, DS3 all charged up, and fires at Hosnian Prime. And he waits the half minute it takes for the beam to destroy the planet. And he waits. And he waits. And the beam is gone but the planet is not. And standing right where the beam should have hit are the Skywalker twins, who absorbed the entirety of the beam because nobody told them they couldn’t.

Idk I just think it’d be neat

The thing that kills me about the Star Wars prequel trilogy and why I will die on my hill that my problem is not that Star Wars is a tragedy, its that its a badly written tragedy, is that Anakin Skywalker was at his closest to being a good Jedi when he was ten years old.
