As someone who has always loved siblings dynamics in fiction, I find it funny that almost every single member of the HoM team has siblings. Kim has two little brothers, Danny has an older sister, Jake has a little sister, Jenny has eight robot sisters, June has an older and a younger brother, Rex has an older brother, and Zak has three cryptid siblings. Ben and Randy are the only ones who are technically only children but Ben still at least has a cousin who he has a sibling dynamic with. I don't think Randy had anyone like that. (Although it's one of the few shows here that I didn't watch so feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.) Any way, now Only Child Cunningham is being treated like the little brother by all of these experienced siblings and has no clue what to do and I find that funny.

(P.s. sorry about the long comment. This thought wouldn't leave me alone so I thought i should share it)

I also adore sibling dynamics in fiction! It's one of the main reasons I don't want to put much focus on ships in this AU, like I mentioned before, there would be like one canon couple with one of HoMies, but otherwise everyone are sort of floating in nebulous single area, so I could focus better on their complicated friendships with a dash of found family/siblings dynamics!

(And your ask reminded me of a fanart I did a long time ago about Randy being the only child in Secret Trio. xD same brain anon!)

Also one can argue that Howard, Randy's best friend, could be considered sort of like a brother to him (they became friends at a very young age), but I personally view them more as Bros. (does it make sense, lol?)

But even if we count Howard, their dynamic would be more equal in older-younger sibling scale, while Randy indeed would be mostly treated as a younger sibling amongst HoMies and it would probably drive him insane!

Being the youngest and newest in their friend circle, he is like a new baby brother or a co-worker/young kohai (ye, cringe wording but terminology vibe aint wrong! xD) that others are prepared to protect and help, impart their wisdom on, but also tease! (and perhaps learn something from him in return! )

But Randy Only Child Cunningham, as an already seasoned, if a bit overconfident, hero would hate (just a little bit) being considered as less experienced (even if he technically is) than others, no matter how much he absolutely adores being in presence of all those cool people! At times it would feel condescending, but in reality others just want to support him the more they learn about how he came to be the Ninja.

After all they know what it felt like being that young, having that responsibility trust upon your shoulders and going through so much. Especially considering that among them, Randy perhaps had the least stable support during his hero-ing career. Sure, all of them had to go through some things alone, but there were family and friends that were there to help when it came to it. And, no offense to Howard, who does sometimes manages to get through for Randy, he is not the best at being the type of support Randy needs at times. And, Ninjanomicon? While incredibly useful for teaching moral lessons and art of being Ninja - is not exactly the most er, physically able in supporting Randy at time of crisis, being an inanimate object and all that, lol.

So yes, Randy-Only Child-Lone Ninja Hero-Cunningham sometimes doesn't know what to do with all those people who appeared in his life and treat him like a little bro! But sometimes, he enjoys it. ;)

Also random, and its not very obvious at all, but there is slightest differences amongst HoMies on how they view/regard him and behave with/around him, depending on their own experiences:

Kim and Jake, as older siblings through and through, tend to see him as a younger bro, like their own siblings who can be a handful and overzealous little hellions at times.

Danny, Rex, Jenny and Zak are a bit complicated. They all have siblings that are older than them, but they are also kind of younger in some sense (or in Danny's case an adopted younger sibling).

Danny and Rex would tend to be overprotective a little bit, as people who didnt have a younger sibling before (I mean, Danny does but she is so independant! Danny doesnt get to exercise his overprotectiveness on Danielle xD) so its a bit new to them. But they are also kind of dicks, and thats just the younger siblings in them talking, lol.

Jenny and Zak on the other hand, both have siblings that are very confusing from the age bracket view.

All ofJenny's siblings are older than her BUT their prototype AI and bodies make them behave younger than her, so she tends to view them as younger siblings. There is a constant argument amongst them about who is older-younger, but its all in good fun! (She also sometimes misses being the only child. xD)

Zak's siblings are all cryptids, and two of them are older than him in age (Fisk and Zon are definitily full grown and possibly more long-lived than humans, I still have questions about Komodo, but he is probably older than Zak in age just by a little bit), but their behaviour, as.... well, i don't want to say animals, because they are not mindless animals, but let's just say - their disregard to human behaviours and norms, as cryptids, make them behave in a way that could be considered irresponsible, thus making Zak often behave like a responsible older sibling, despite being younger than them.

So, Jenny and Zak tend to be as snooty and in 'charge' as an older sibling would, but also be mischevous little shits that is younger (sorta only) child behaviour.

Ben and Jun are sort of like the previous four, but they tend to view Randy on a more equal footing rather than just vacilate between older-younger types of behaviour.

Ben, is a single child, but he grew up pretty close to Gwen, since they were born on the same day. Sort of growing up twins but not kinda situation. They also have an older cousin/brother Ken, and they both adore him, but it is obvious that primarly those two grew up together and are equally annoyed with that, lol.

Jun is a middle child. (I kind of dont want to say anything else, because i feel like it explains everything. xD but-) She is independant, and is equally exasparated with her snooty older brother and her hellion of a younger brother. So, really, she just tends to be the most normal towards Randy in the end???

so, ye, of course in the end they treat him as just a new friend, this was just more of me trying to look into inner mind of sibling dynamics in a weird way haha

okay so. overall review:

actually not as bad as i expected it to be! and not as bad as i thought it was going to turn out while i was in the trenches there lol. i still wished it focused a little more on eddie's home life/relationship with his dad and uncle AND his friends, and had way less of the romance stuff (read: none), BUT i will admit that there ended up being a lot less of the romance stuff than i initially expected and a lot less than it seemed like there would be while still in the middle of the book.

the paige stuff still made me uncomfy bc i didn't like the power dynamics there (paige had something eddie wanted desperately, and i don't like the idea that that could have had something to do with his "feelings" for her/why he engaged with them ((esp bc let's be real — he didn't seem super torn up over not getting to be with her in the end)) or that she used that to her advantage bc there was ALSO something in it for her) BUT i will say they did make it slightly less skeezy than i expected bc she was only a couple years older than him instead of like. significantly older like i expected.

i do wish there was more about eddie's friends and their fallout and reconciliation. his friends were super important to him and he just. dropped them. like that. and there was BARELY any blowback. like yeah there was a fight with ronnie, but we never actually got to see the reactions of any of the other hellfire/corroded coffin guys, and i would've liked to see that. same with the reconciliation, it felt very minimal — i would've liked to see more of how that played out too.

I LOVED EVERY SINGLE GODDAMN SECOND OF WAYNE MUNSON CONTENT, THAT MAN IS A GIFT HE IS AN ANGEL I ADORE HIM WITH EVERYTHING IN ME. IF THERE IS ONE THING THIS BOOK HAS DONE IT HAS SOLIDIFIED MY STANCE THAT WAYNE MUNSON IS THE BEST GOD DAMN CHARACTER AND I WOULD DIE FOR HIM.

as for eddie — i think the author did an alright job finding his voice. there were times where i thought she really nailed it, but there were also A LOT of times where i thought "he would never say that!!" "he would never do that!!". it wasn't very consistent, but overall it wasn't awful and there were some good parts!

the other characters we know and love that made cameos — VERY fun to see them (gareth, chrissy, jason, hopper, will, jonathan!!!) gareth was ESPECIALLY fun to see because they really embraced that feral chihuahua boy energy we love to assign to him. BUT. i am SO incredibly upset with how badly they massacred my boy tommy h (whOSE LAST NAME THEY COULDNT EVEN GET RIGHT I MEAN W H A T!?) they fucking. got his characterization SO BAD. it was awful. i am. personally offended by it (joking, mostly rhsjsi). (as a tommy lover i am. devastated tho. HE WOULD NOT DO THAT!!!)

OH ALSO — reefer rick. WHAT a fun dude. hes out here in his robe and bunny slippers drinking darjeeling tea, living it up. what a guy.

id like to give a huge FUCK YOU to principal higgins too! they made that dude a straight up MONSTER. he was unnecessarily CRUEL and some of the things he said straight up to eddies face,,,,,,, sir what the FUCK. i know the 80s was a different time but jesus fucking cHRIST was casual cruelty and bullying from grown ass ADULTS commonplace? i sure hope not.

ALSO FUCK AL MUNSON LIVES ALL MY HOMIES HATE AL MUNSON LIVES. that man was AWFUL, TRULY HONESTLY GENUINELY THE WORST. neglectful and cruel and downright AWFUL. NOT ONLY DID HE CONSISTENTLY ABANDON EDDIE THROUGHOUT HIS LIFE BUT THEN HE DREW EDDIE INTO HIS SCHEMES, CONNED HIM, FUCKED UP REAL BIG, AND THEN LEFT EDDIE IN THE ASHES OF THEIR — OF HIS — HOME AS THE ONLY PERSON LEFT WITH THE COP WHO GOT SHOT AND IS LIKE SLOWLY BLEEDING OUT. COMPLETELY flat. bc we all know what happens to eddie in canon. he's sitting there reenrolling in school, peacoking around about how he's GOING to finish high school and he's GOING to graduate and he's GOING to show principal higgins that he CAN do it and that he ISNT the fuckup deliquent he's convinced he is. BUT WE ALL KNOW HE DOESNT FUCKING GET THAT IN CANON. he's taking waynes advice and fully embracing who he is and he's learning to be comfortable in his own skin and to rise above all the noise of people who don't like him and think he's a freak. ONLY WE KNOW HE NEVER TRULY GETS TO DO THAT EITHER BECAUSE WE ALL KNOW HOW IT ENDS IN CANON. so yeah it just ends up being a REALLY fucking BLEAK ending because all of that "positivity" is absolutely tainted. it's fucking soured. and i am once again INSANELY INFURIATED about eddies death. so fuck the duffers, again.

also, eddie munson literally never caught a fucking break. not one fucking break. his ENTIRE life was just one series of tragedies after the other and it truly just continued on that way until he fucking died. honestly, its a goddamn MIRACLE that he has ANY ounce of positivity and optimism and hope left in his life when we get to him in s4. thatd how utter dogshit a hand he has been dealt in life. and it only.got worse from there. and i will NEVER forgive ANYONE involved in his creation for that.

You didn't even regret it. Deep down you enjoyed imagining yourself holding his soft hands, kissing his face aggressively, resting your head against his chest as if it was a pillow... your thoughts consumed you, haunted you no matter what you tried to do to stop your feelings. But yet again, you didn't regret it.. you regret not regretting it, foolish you, using your heart rather than your brain...

You felt your chest burning up, it's so cold and yet you're so warm.. it was embarrassing you were overheating because of a crush. A faint notification sound, followed by more notifications, each getting louder and more aggressive. You put on a somewhat lazy outfit, but you made sure to look at least somewhat presentable. You took your wallet, heading to the little cafe at the end of the street. You looked for Rui, and he wasn't there, which is ti be expected as the cafe was closer to your house than his. You took a seat, waiting a few minutes. You scrolled on your phone, mindlessly looking at tiktoks untill.. "My sincerest apologies, I didn't keep you waiting for too long, now did I darling~?" he took a seat beside you, slyly putting his hand on top of yours, rubbing circles in it. You had felt slightly sleepy these past few days, so his comforting touch made you yawn slightly. "Nah I've only been waiting for five minutes" you mumbled, slightly tired. "You should really be getting some more sleep, you know?" "Pfft, ironic considering thats coming from you" you tease, he faked being offended, playfully scoffing. You talked a lot, your feelings just became stronger.. fuck.. you were deeply in love with him.. "You okay? You zoned out, are you sure you want to talk, maybe you should sleep instead, it's fine honestly I don't mind-" you snapped out your thoughts as Ruis words hit you like a brick: "Hm? Oh- oh no! I, I'm sorry I just.. got lost in my thoughts I guess" he was about to speak, but the waitress came and took your orders, so he forgot what he was going to reply. You two kept glancing at eachother, awkwardly laughing when you both looked at eachother at the same time.

"Thanks for the date, pretty boy, I'll see you later" Rui winked at you, you forgot you joked about this being a date, so you just stood there dumbfounded.. he giggled, giving you a kiss on your nose. He left, but you stood there, shocked.. 'kissing your homies is normal, right?'

Begging for you to talk about OJV Stans and Marj’s friendship. Mari coming out to Stan first and whenever she is having a meltdown him always zooming to find Kenny or Kyle is so wholesome. One of the things about OJV Stan is that he IS the Dad Friend. By which I mean he’s extremely protective but also unequipped for actual crises, and is prone to inadvertently indulging in shenanigans. The way this extends to Marj? Lemme get goin.

So when she came out to him, bro was CONFUSED like “uhhhh why am I the first person you’re talking about this with? Why not, I dunno, Kenny or something” like Stan fully isnt the person to go to for advice but he IS the person to confide in (plus he gives really good hugs if u need them) and he actually cried when her answer was “I just felt like I could trust you is all” this sweet boy, if he doesn’t know what to do in a situation he’s GONNA find someone who will, so he went “what about talking to Kyle? He might know more about this than me?” And she read him for absolute filth lmao all “well speakin of, that’s why I came to you. You have your own little secret that you’ve been scared to bring up, dontcha” AGDGJKLH

Nah but seriously, their friendship is so wholesome, she frequently scolds Stan for indulging Kenny’s recklessness, he’s out here like “dude Marj that’s a pyramid scheme don’t fuck with that shit” (she winds up running it lmfao) and may not always be the most observant person, but he knows his friends and ALWAYS recognizes the signs of Marj starting to shut down, and she knows that. She says the word and Stan is finding her someone with the emotional tools to help. I also like to think that Stan COULD be one of those people. OrangeJuiceVerse Stan Marsh is actually very emotionally intelligent, but he isn’t confident enough in that to think he has any room to help others. It’s the same reason that later down the line he wrestles with taking on a sponsee.

A more fun note: in that first year of college, the trio of Marj Stan and Cartman are THE musical theatre gang. I’m talking they are DESTROYING karaoke. I don’t know why I have this headcanon but I do and I love it. Another is that when Stan gets in trouble with her he gets so guilty for disappointing her lmfao like out here looking like a sad puppy all “I’m sorry Marj Ken and I thought hanging off the roof was the best way to get the top piece of his sculpture attached” smh “don’t tell Kyle” “don’t tell me what?” Lmao

And Stan is SUPER protective of anyone in his group, plus he’s kind of a social justice warrior lol he isn’t confrontational as Kyle and Cartman are but he’s GONNA go “hey dude that’s not cool” call someone out for being a dick and he’s intimidating when he gets mad! Like OJV Stan is a BIG BOY he’s a gentle giant for sure but fuck with someone he loves and suddenly the golden retriever boy is SCARY. karaoke trio nights someone says something transphobic and he is there all “the fuck did you just say to her?” Now Marj and Stan are both the ‘muscle’ of their group. Both are tall and strong and could definitely fuck someone up. They don’t, but they could. Both are pretty gentle in nature which is super sweet, but they could do some damage if they had to. They’re a slay duo tbh

Would love to hear your thoughts on Dan calling his and Phil's relationship 'more than romantic'

ive written about this before here and i think this essay (plus my added commentary) also sums up my thoughts well!

imo it just means that romance is not the Crux of their relationship. often we think of a romantic relationship in this way: strangers -> friends -> lovers. literally a fanfic trope lol. but there's sort of an implication there of Romantic Love being the final state, like a fairytale ending. imo, dan (and phil by proxy) views his and phil's relationship as beyond this structure, and honestly this is true of many queer relationships! the idea of your spouse being your best friend for example was not really considered the norm by cishetero society. i mean, maybe this is just the people i happen to be surrounded by, but particularly the older straight couples i know (gen x-boomer) would not describe each other as best friends even if they do love each other romantically. like maybe today it's kind of a given to be friends with your romantic partner, but there is often still an implication of a hierarchy of whether friendship or romance is more important, "bros before hoes," "it's either me or the homies," "my bf can't be friends with other girls," that kinda shit. and ofc all of that is inherently thrown out the window in a queer relationship, but i think some queer people do still hold onto that structure whereas dnp dont even regard it bc they hold romance, friendship, business, housemates, all of that is like in the same place for them wrt each other.

BASICALLY they are each other's most important person, but it doesn't really matter what that means exactly because it doesn't change what is at the core. AT LEAST TO ME! PERSONALLY!

Chapter 10: Right Where You Left Me

As far as explanations go, the one Gale gave Fallon is pretty solid. Gale is incredibly smart, but he isn’t clairvoyant; as he told Fallon, there is no real way Gale could have predicted that Mystra would offer him an almost impossible ultimatum. Fallon believed Gale when he promised he loved her more than Mystra– a conversation that honestly feels like another lifetime at this point– but more than magic itself? There was no competing with that. Fallon completely understands why Gale made the choice he did, knowing he was at risk to lose his connection to magic. Moreover, Fallon hates the goddess of magic even more than she did previously. 

Still, Fallon finds herself noticing little moments throughout Gale’s story that could have been entirely avoided. Specifically, he wanted to re-forge the crown until after he reached Elysium. “Could the crown have been re-forged before reaching The Outer Plane?” Fallon asks curiously. Granted, her knowledge of The Weave and how magic intrinsically works is not exactly something Fallon could give a lecture on, but Gale could. Despite that, Fallon has a feeling Gale probably could have re-forged The Crown of Karsus before ever setting foot in Elysium; especially since he had no intention of returning the crown to Mystra. All his goddess had asked of Gale was to return the pieces to her. She said nothing about Gale needing to put it back together to receive her favor once more. Fallon would know, she saw Gale’s conversation with the goddess the day she tasked him with returning the crown, through their tadpole connection.

Which means, if Fallon is correct, Gale could have completely avoided Mystra’s ultimatum entirely; and therefore all of the pain and hurt Fallon has been through in the last year could have also been completely avoided. 

“Of course,” Gale confirms. “Combined with the magic I still possessed and the piece of the Karsite Weave within me, desperate to reunite with the crown itself, re-forging it outside of the Outer Plane most certainly would not have killed me.” 

Fallon chews on her bottom lip, considering the information he’d just shared. “So why did you wait? Why give Mystra the opportunity to best you at all?” 

“Fallon, you can’t sit there and tell me if you were given the opportunity to prove your naysayers wrong, directly to their face, that you wouldn’t take the opportunity?” His tone is a little condescending, and his hackles are raised. Fallon questioning his choice after telling her his sob story is clearly not what he expected.

Fallon stares at him in slight disbelief. “So let me make sure I understand this correctly: You found the pieces of The Crown of Karsus, you could have re-forged the crown and become a god without going to the Outer Plane to do so, but you decided to wait until Mystra was watching…just so you could win? And not doing so to her face would have made finding and reforging the crown a loss, despite ultimately getting what you wanted?” Pride. Ambition. All of the things that caused Gale’s original downfall; they were still his greatest motivating factors after all this time. Gale Dekarios had truly learned nothing.

Gale frowns. “You don’t understand–”

“No, I think I understand perfectly. Instead of making this easy for yourself and taking the win and walking away, you put yourself in the position to potentially give Mystra, a goddess who has spurned you multiple times over, the chance at having the upper hand,” She shakes her head. “You could have come home to me…you could have come home and none of this would have happened.” Fallon stands up and walks over to the window of the suite, staring out at the busy streets below.

Gale follows her over to the window, and he takes his hand in hers. “Fallon, please, you must listen to me. When Astarion came to see me– when he told me what happened to you…what you tried to do to yourself…it shattered me. Not only were you in such a state that you felt like your only way out was through death, but that I was the cause…you must know how sorry I am for the role I played in that, and how deeply, deeply sorry I am for causing you such immense pain. If I’d ever thought it was possible to hurt you so thoroughly, I never would have left you behind.” 

Fallon stopped listening the moment Gale confessed that Astarion told him Fallon tried to kill herself. The pieces all begin to fall into place in her mind. Astarion found Gale right before he went to Elysium. By the time Astarion returned to Baldur’s Gate, Gale had already ascended to godhood, bound to Mystra once more. “Is that why Astarion sought you out? To–to tell you what was happening to me? Did he ask you to come home? Don’t fucking lie to me, Gale Dekarios.” 

Gale must realize his mistake the moment the question leaves Fallon’s mouth, and he doesn’t need to answer her because his face says it all. Not only had he just told her Astarion came to see him, but that during that brief visit, the vampire informed him of Fallon’s mental and physical condition, and Gale did nothing.

“Fallon…I was right there.” He tries to explain, tries to justify his actions and choices; to her, of all people.

“And I was right here, and so gods-damned miserable that being dead was more appealing to me than living a life without you in it…and you knew and still, you chose yourself. You chose your pride and your ambition and your goddess, and left me here to fucking rot.” She needs to find Astarion, immediately, and she’s pretty sure he left his sending stone behind before they departed for the ball. Shit, she fucked up. 

“I– I have to go,” She pushes past Gale to find her shoes. “And you need to leave.”

“Fallon–”

“I mean it, Gale– you better not be here when I get back, because if I can convince Astarion to come back with me, I will not be held responsible if he snaps your fucking neck.” She sits down on the couch, hastily trying to buckle her sandals and cursing under her breath.

“So that’s it then…after all we’ve been through…you’re choosing him.”

Fallon stares at Gale in disbelief. “After all we’ve–” Fallon’s laughter is loud and harsh. “You left me Gale! If Astarion had come home even minutes later that day I tried to poison myself, I would have succeeded. Regardless of any feelings I have for Astarion, there’s no coming back from that for you. Even before I found out you fucking knew and chose not to act, there never was. Not as my lover, and until you fucking realize the absolute selfishness of your actions, not as my friend either.”

Fallon doesn’t even look at him as she turns to leave, rushing from the suite as fast as she could manage in a floor length gown.

what would your story be like?

what genre would you be in? (and saying sci-fi/fantasy/etc is plausible, if you imagine your story would be a 'discovering magical world' trope or something like that, as long as you provide reasons. you can make something up too, like what direction you think your story would go)

who is the antagonist of your story (currently)? (could be a literal person, an idea, a movement you disagree with, or something else. if you're one of my Christian homies doing this you can say the Devil but you must also include something else for ~drama~ lol)

First, I feel I would be the loveable side character doomed by the plot. I mean idk i feel like it suits me. I'm not main character or love interest so I feel like this is just right for me as a person

Second, the story would probably be like a rom-com type thing? (since im basing it on real life thats the most plausable) idrk lol. Mc has some love problems, side character and others help? Plot twist she gets with side character or friends? Plot plot twist side character or friends get with love interest?? Idk i'm getting these ideas from my butt lol.

Third, again, I think the story would most accurately be a rom-com js bcs I want love very badly and books are as good as it gets rn! Tropes may be like friends to lover, enimies to lover, idk

Antgonsts would obvs be the devil (hes the enemy since day one bro) and the mc may be an enemy to herself at some points? Or maybe random characters with sad backstories could be mean to her and stuff? Very basic things for a basic story

The fandom would 100% be mostly postive and cutesy. I just get that vibe from the book and the ppl who would read it!

FInally, I think it (whether or not there is a series) all depends based on the plot twists as stated above. If the side character gets the guy then yea there HAS to be a series. But if it just ends normally then maybe another series based on povs from the other characters/ friends of the mc. So yes, there would probs be a series but depending on how the first book goes changes the plot of the rest of the series.

Teen Wolf (2011-2016, 2023) Okay, I'm not necessarily proud of this one, but it was my favorite show when it was on for it's five seasons and I unironically loved the movie this year. Did it have LOTS of problems? Yes. Do I care? No. Scott McCall is one of my favorite characters of all time. Derek Hale was a flop his entire life and I loved him for it. I legit have two arrow tattoos cause of this show dammit, lol.

Shameless (2011-2021) I'm ghetto white trash. I come from two lines of Slavs and American poor. I will always love it. Was it outlandish? Yeah. Did it show some real ass shit? Yeah. Did I cry at it more than once? Yeah. Did Ian and Mickey getting married heal my heart? No, but it was very nice to see. I legit live in my childhood home on the southside. I am a gay with bipolar. I am technically on probation right now. I don't think I need to say anymore.

OZ (1997-2003) I started watching this show way too young. It was the most ridiculous, dramatic, ain't shit, had no business show. And yet I still own the DVDs and made my best friend start watching it. She's mad as hell at it, but she agreed to watch it knowing she would be mad as hell. And she's now the one being like "fuck we can watch another season, I hate this fuckass show but I want to watch." A win is a win.

Generation Kill (2008) Yes, the American military complex is bad af. But this show is funny as fuck. It didn't hesitate to show these dudes are just regular ass dudes. There was no hero worship. My bestie and I still quote it to each other all the time. Plus the HBO War fandom was amazing back in the day. So many good edits and fics.

Queer As Folk (2000-2005) Okay this show did not hold up well at all. What with the, you know, main relationship that we all loved and rooted for being Brian (29) and Justin (17). But we didn't have anything else back then okay! I still love this show, but maturing is watching it and realizing Ben and Michael were the best couple, Melanie was never wrong and should have left Lindsay, Lindsay was bisexual and needed therapy to stop being dickmatized by her gay best friend she never got to sleep with because he's a gay man, Justin also needed therapy for so many reasons like so many, and Brian needed to like just stop just stop in general.  Also, it legit took 5 YEARS and Justin also almost being killed for Brian to say "I love you" and we all just celebrated that like it was the greatest thing despite it taking FIVE YEARS. Again, it was all we had. But I still love how it showed gay people having sex and enjoying it and not really much shame or whatever. And the "admit the truth, you love him" speech is something I STILL quote for my ships to this day. Like it was very "we're here, we're queer, get used to it" and that was AMAZING for 14 year old baby gay Clyde.

South Park (1997-Present) It's ain't shit to it's core. It's hilarious. It's still my humor. I've been watching since season 7. Sometimes I don't agree with the takes, but lots of times I do. And when it's not even trying to have a take it's just straight funny. When I'm in a low cycle, I put it on and can at least get some laughs, which is hard to do when I can't even get myself to shower and leave my house.

South of Nowhere (2005-2008) Okay. Listen. I'm a gay lady. Oh I see. So yeah. The N had a show about a teenage lesbian realizing she was a lesbian cause she fell in love with her out bisexual friend. And then they had a relationship! And they stayed in it! And like they had sex and it was normal and fine and just yeah. This show meant a lot to me.

TharnType (2019-2021) Honestly I haven't had this show for very long personally but it is one of my favorites. I've watched it twice in less than a year. It's a hot ass mess. It's perfect. It's problematic and toxic and everything I love. Type is on that "I can hit my bitch" gay energy from back in the late-00s, which is bad don't get me wrong, but it's so delicious to watch because he's just so small, angry, and hopelessly in love. He really got the D one time ONE TIME and stayed gagging for it for the REST OF HIS LIFE. That is amazing. That is art. If you can't see how that's not the greatest thing you've ever seen, I'm sorry I can't help you. Techno remains my favorite friend in all of the BL shows I've watched now because everything he did, EVERYTHING, was gold. Lhong was BATSHIT INSANE and it was the greatest thing I've ever witnessed. My bestie has ZERO interest in any of my "gay Thai shows" but she has said she will watch this one with me because "it sounds ridiculous and it's just gonna make me mad, but you already have me watching OZ and that makes me mad so let's do it." Plus it's got "her boy" Mew. It's amazing. I'm making my straight bestie watch it and I am already so ready to watch her watch this show. I even liked the sequel. Type and Techno were really out here like IS HE CHEATING ON YOU WITH THIS GIRL like Tharn was not a whole ass homosexual who already had the convo back in college about trying pussy once and going ew. He really put on a fire fit to scare off a woman claiming his GAY man. Amazing. How could anyone hate this show. I don't understand. lol

NEW AU JUST DROPPED!!! SIT DOWN AND LET ME TELL U

This au is macaque central and basically nothing involving the other characters changes. Everything that happens in canon happens in this au and there is no change in the plot or timeline. BUT!!!! The main thing about this au is that it features my little homie, the nine-spirited lion, Yuansheng!! SO in peachbuds Yuansheng manipulates macaque into possession because he has six ears and is the only one able to hear him (or smth like that) and this au is based off of that!! It’s theorized that Yuansheng was a master manipulator at shadows and dark magic, his nine heads have a powerful bite that surpass sun Wukong’s power.

In my au, similar shit goes down. Sun wukong leaves to fight Buddha and leaves ffm to Macaque in case his return is… delayed. Yuansheng and Macaque have met before, however Yuansheng is not keen on getting his ass beat by wukong so their meetings are slim. Now that wukong is gone, he sees it as the perfect time to get into macaques feeble little head. He doesn’t posses him flat out, he starts small, manipulating him gaslighting him girlbossing if you will.

The moment he ACTUALLY possesses macaque is after erlang burns flower fruit mountain. Macaque feels small and powerless and no matter how high of a rank he’s granted he is still nothing but a pathetic monkey to the eyes of heaven. Yuansheng strolls up and he’s all like, “hey I got unfathomable power just let me use your body and I’ll beat the living poop out of erlang.” And so HE DOES

After the whole thing Macaque is absolutely PUMPED at the fact that he got to use magic- albeit not his own- BUT MAGIC NONETHELESS!!! He asks Yuansheng if he can stick around in case he needs to use his powers and he’s more than happy too!! (Maliciously)… Time goes by and Macaque and Yuansheng are good friends!! Buuut Yuansheng is still an evil bastard sorry to disappoint 😔 He starts to taint Macaque’s relationship with wukong and trying to completely cut his ties with him, constantly telling Macaque that he doesn’t deserve this kind of pressure and that Wukong was just abusing your loyalty (hypocritical LOL). At some point, it works and Macaque is absolutely SEETHING with anger. He decides to search for wukong and give him a piece of his newfound power. So macaque and Yuansheng set off!!!

They find wukong, macaque is delirious with anger and Yuansheng sees it as the perfect opportunity to possess macaque and kill wukong because he killed his grandchild that one time (or smth). Wukong recognizes that macaque is possessed and wukong being wukong figures the best way to get unpossessed is to BEAT THE LIVING SHIT out of macaque. Macaque did not expect him to have a 1 v 1 against his old friend but FUCK IT WE BALL!!! Macaque gets struck in the eye and this is when Yuansheng realizes “OH SHIT!!! This is not a good sign…”

(Side note, whatever happens to macaque does NOT happen to Yuansheng, Macaque is just a vessel).

Yuansheng pops out of macaque last minute and just watches wukong KILL HIM!!! Wukong is dripping with rage, and instead of mourning for his best friend, he zips off to try and find Yuansheng and make him atone for his sins. After hours of searching, he comes back empty handed and goes back to his journey in hopes that it’ll give him a distraction.

When the coast is clear Yuansheng returns to Macaque and tries to possess him again, to try healing him. When he can’t seem to access macaque’s spirit he realizes he’s dead, like DEADASS DEAD. For some reason this hits Yuansheng hard and he starts sobbing profusely. Usually he doesn’t attach himself to his vessels but Macaque :(.

Que the whole LBD resurrection sequence and macaque is back! He comes face first to Yuansheng throwing up all over the floor and he’s like “Erm…. Akwaaaaard.”

Blah blah blah they reconcile or smth idk still working on this part. Macaque tells Yuansheng that they need to work on teamwork and rather than Yuansheng just possessing macaque, macaque eases into the use of magic and they let their powers intertwine instead of feed off of each other. So they do that and they become a powerful and awesome duo!!!

I like to think during that whole era, those two bounced their habits off of eacother. Like, Yuansheng can do a monkey grimace, climb trees, search for ticks, and mimic monkey sounds. And macaque can hiss/growl, purr, and unintentionally lick himself.

ALSO these two are not meant to be shipped they are just best friends who are on the top of everyone’s wanted list.
