Oscar and Brenda Sudley are the owners of an apartment block that barely stands upright and they are joined here by their long-suffering tenant, Zaki Hakim.

I love that out of all the sims who come up on the phone, it’s Michael Madcap that’s dressed up all fancy. Game knows me too well.

Ding! Oscar is still working hard to pay off the loan he took out to buy the apartment block but at least he maxed the Writing skill. He’s using it to unlock a new position in the Writer career and will take it himself and leave the freelance career thingymabob behind.

Looks like Brenda’s grand meal for Winterfest went down a treat!

Round 3 - Household 5: Sudley Apartments
Grace was told Oscar’s joke about llamas was going to be hilarious. All things considered, she could have a worse landlord. After talking to Zaki it sounds like Oscar is at least getting better with cleaning up the place.

Brenda and Oscar have been arguing all morning. Is it about the constant mess Oscar creates or is it about how onion-obsessed Brenda seems to be? Who knows. All that’s certain is Zaki went for his jog extra early to get away from it.

Round 2 - Household 5: Sudley Apartments
Oscar has been in DIY mode this week after getting a notice from the council telling him to clean the place up. He has pulled most of the moldy wallpaper out of the rooms but there’s still plenty to do. The ground floor is now a common area for his tenants, complete with kitchen, lounge, bathroom and laundry.

Oscar has fixed sinks plenty of times. Maybe he should give Justin some tips... It’s great they’re working together and all but Brenda might as well wait until Oscar finishes before using the mop. She’s on a mission, no puddles allowed!
(That ends a week at the Sudley apartments. Next up are the Nicastro family across the street. I’m rebuilding their house at the moment!)

Looks like a little poetry was all it took for Brenda and Oscar to forgive each other. Seems they’ve already forgotten what the argument was about.

Kristina: “The mayor’s husband arrived to welcome my family into the Boschdale neighbourhood. I thought Louisa wasn’t going to turn up, but she arrived at the last minute, ugh! Seems they brought Oscar and Zaki along with them from the apartment block across the road. The men seemed decent enough, apart from smelling like cheese.”

Kristina starts arguing with the mayor about the power plant and barely stops herself from jumping over the table.
(Oscar’s face is priceless... I think he wishes he was somewhere else.)

Not sure about you, but I’m starting to see an issue in Oscar’s apartment. His slob trait is definitely having the time of it’s life and Zaki only lives one floor below him. If that wasn’t enough, Zaki also has the neat trait. Feel sorry for Zaki, I know I do...

Didn’t expect Zaki to convince his landlord but they’re both sharing the workload like responsible adults. It’s up to Oscar to clean his own rooms though. Zaki can’t push him too far, he’s only been here a week...
(That wraps up their first week which means we’ll be moving onto our next family who live in Woods End, the third neighbourhood of Newcrest.)

What a dreary place Oscar... Maybe some colour on the walls would do some good? Actually on second thought, better to knock the wall down and rebuild it then paint it knowing this place.

Oscar managed to pick up some work as a freelance writer and is now bringing in some much needed simoleons as he proofreads through a range of pretty uninspiring speeches. Zaki has noticed the smell coming from his landlord’s apartment and is on the verge of asking Oscar when he’ll be doing something about it or hiring a cleaner.
(Newcrest needs 10 households to unlock Services, and we only have 7 so far. Within the first week of arriving, Oscar’s well on his way to maxing the Writing skill (now up to L7). Looks like Zaki is going to need to complain about the smell. Maybe he can convince his landlord to wash his clothes once in a while too?)

It’s nearly the end of Oscar and Zaki’s first week in Newcrest and Zaki decides to invite his landlord to dinner as thanks for the apartment space (despite how bad it’s been so far).
Zaki also took the opportunity to tell Oscar about the smell in the apartment and asked if he could look into it because “he would hate to take up the issue with the mayor”. This gentle nudge seems to have done the trick and Oscar apologised for the issue. Will things improve or is Zaki’s landlord just all talk?
