oscar görres spoke of working on ‘so it goes…’, explaining that he had just become a father when creating the song
as taylor was photographed at the studio on the same day, it is very likely ‘so it goes…’ was written/recorded on march 2, 2015

do we know anything about dress and/or so it goes 👀
so it goes was recorded in september 2017 and it makes me want to freak out because she had already released lwymmd as a single and depending on exactly when in september she had also already released ready for it. this woman is insane
Theres a bit of timeline fuckery with so it goes but not as much as people make it out to be: Oscar Görres, a cowritter on the song, said he got a call from Max Martin, Shellback, and Taylor asking to use his track after he’d just had a child. According to social media, he had a daughter in 2014/2015 and a son in September of 2017. The interview is a bit confusing, timeline-wise. On one had, Görres says “I’d just become a father,” but then he implies that Max and Shellback had already completed half the album. (For context, English isn’t his first language). I tend to believe the 2017 date since taylor said everything she wrote for reputation she wrote for reputation, not years in advance, and she just really wasn't writing songs in 2015.
DRESS IS A WHOLE THING THAT MAKES ME WANT TO SCREAM
so theres this stupid fucking video (affectionate) of taylor laughing in a studio with bleached hair and wearing a black mesh top and wearing this thin gold choker that she was super fond of in oct 2016 thats posted in all of making of a song trailors, and it's not any studio i recognize (i thought for a while it might be mxm studios in sweden but NO) and i thought "okay, dress sounds like it comes early in the process and doesn't have a studio credited (which taylor does all the time and it makes me SCREAM) maybe she recorded dress someplace weird" but NO dress was recorded in 2017!! JACK ANTONOFF I AM IN YOUR WALLS WHY ARE ALL THE SONGS YOU PRODUCE SO HARD TO FIND A DATE FOR (its because he respects his collaborators privacy and doesn't give out any personal details and instead talks about the artistic process when he's asked about what it was like working on songs and i love and appreciate him for that).
so really all we know about dress was that it was written in 2017. that and new years day are the two songs we know the least about, since we never got any behind the scenes footage of taylor recording them.

Lyrics:
Everybody loves you, baby
You should trademark your face
Linin′ down the block to be around you
But, baby, I'm first in place
Face card, no cash, no credit
Yes, God, don′t speak, you said it
Look at you
Skip the application, interview
Sweet like Marabou
Look, look at you
Give me a call if you ever get lonely
I'll be like one of your girls or your homies
Say what you want, and I'll keep it a secret
You get the key to my heart, and I need it
Give me a call if you ever get desperate
I′ll be like one of your girls
Evеrybody wants you, baby (everybody)
You should insure that waist (with the highеst policy you can get)
But nobody wants you bad as I do
Baby, let me plead my case, yeah
Face card, no cash, no credit
Yes, God, don′t speak, you said it
Look at you
Pop the culture, iconography
Is standin' right in front of me
Look at you
Give me a call if you ever get lonely
I′ll be like one of your girls or your homies
Say what you want, and I'll keep it a secret
You get the key to my heart, and I need it
Give me a call if you ever get desperate
I′ll be like one of your girls
Ah, aah (ah, ah, ah)
Give me a call if you ever get desperate
I'll be like one of your girls

idk if it’s common knowledge but so it goes… was made in 2015 cuz Oscar Görres told this story about writing it and he became a father in 2015 cuz he posted a happy 5 years to his kid in 2020
You also netted a song with Taylor Swift on Reputation, "So It Goes…" Did that connection come through Max?
“I’d just become a father. I was not in the room when the melody and the lyrics were written. Max and Shellback did half of the album with her in L.A., and I had done this [instrumental] track—which is weird too, because I don’t do tracks. No one really does tracks on our team now. But I’d started that idea. Shellback was looking through things on his computer, listened to that track, and Taylor reacted to it. "Oh, what’s that? That’s special. I haven’t done anything like that. Can we do that?"
So they were vibing and doing melodies, and Taylor had the lyrics. She wrote everything quickly. I woke up—this is the funny part of the story—and someone is FaceTiming me at 6:30 in the morning. I’ve just had a child. I was up all night and my eyes were bloodshot and my hair was crazy. I saw it was Shellback and I ignored the call, put my phone away, and jumped into the shower. My girlfriend is like, "Can you answer your phone? Someone’s calling you constantly, it’s Johan [Shellback]! Can you just take it?" I got out of the shower with a towel wrapped around me and I texted Shellback like, "Ok, it’s 6:30 a.m., I am so tired, I’ve been up all night, and I just got out of the shower. Can I call you back later?" He said, "No. Call me. Now." [Laughs.]
I called him back and saw this girl on his couch. She goes, "Hi! It’s Taylor! How are you?" And I’m presenting myself [in a towel] after a shower… it was a very unpleasant picture for her. She goes, "We just heard the track. We had the melody. The lyrics are like this. I can read you the lyrics! I had this idea. What do you think about that?" And I was like, "…yes!" It was a very strange songwriting session for me, but I’m very thankful for that. It’s the one FaceTime call I’ll remember for the rest of my life.”

I think us hardcore fans know when it was made but a lot of the casual fans I don’t think they now. And it’s got that … which is so Harry coded. That’s a funny little story. I hadn’t heard that story before. Thanks for the share 😊

FACETIME CALL: FIORUCCI SWORDFISH TEE
Found a photo of Marina and Oscar Görres who co-wrote “Orange Trees”, “Enjoy Your Life”, “True” and “Believe in Love” where they discussed joyful production discussions over Facetime back on April 28th, 2019.
Tumblr media
We can’t see much but what we can spot is the Fiorucci swordfish digital printed baby tee. This round neck tee once retailed for $110.00 but is, unfortunately, sold out. Also worn by IT-girl Gigi Hadid!

Hey, I have a piece of information about the writing date of So It Goes…. so that you can fix your spreadsheet with the writing date. So It Goes… was actually written on March 2nd, 2015 because Oscar Gorres, the producer of the track has said that Taylor had to FaceTime the morning after he became a father to show him the song, and Oscar’s first-born child was born on March 2nd, 2015. Plus, Taylor was seen leaving the studio that afternoon. I hope this helps you correct your spreadsheet with So It Goes… being written on March 2nd, 2015 instead of September 2017. But it could be that the 2015 version is a rough draft? I don’t know, but either way at least SOME version of So It Goes… was written on thst date, but it probably wasn’t the final version, since this version would’ve likely been about Calvin Harris, possibly referencing him, so she may’ve changed some parts of the song. Still, even if this version is about Calvin, it’s probably a Sparks Fly type of situation where she wrote a rough draft/demo version a few years before the final version was released. I have more thoughts on this, but they’re kinda just clown theories, but tell me if you’re interested in them.
P.S.: Do you think that Karma the album is real?
I actually don't think that SIG was written in 2015 because:
Oscar Görres said that when Taylor did SIG: "Max and Shellback did half of the album with her in L.A", so that means the 2016 songs, like Gorgeous, King of My Heart, Delicate etc.
Taylor said that she wrote every track for the album.
The lyrics are very Joe Alwyn, imho: "met you in a bar", "all eyes on us", "I'm so chill, but you make me jealous". The bar line especially.
The tracklist on the reputation magazines are all over the place, and that makes me think that the tracklist was revised.
Also the baby was *born* on March 2nd, and Taylor was in the studio in the afternoon. There's no way that both parents were already at home.
But please, you're welcome to share your theories here. Someone a few days ago wrote me that they were attacked cause they had shared their thoughts on the MIAB/CBBH situation and I don't want to be a self-righteous person so thank you for sharing your theory.
As for Karma, I don't believe it's real. Taylor said that she didn't know what musical direction she wanted to take next and that she wanted a break. When reputation dropped, she said that there were people in her life who didn't inspire her to write songs (I think this was a dig at Calvin, so it might be a straight up lie lol)

Ariana Grande's Return with Eternal Sunshine
Seamless blend of pop and R&B, Ariana Grande, returns after four long years with her most personal album to date, eternal sunshine, her seventh studio album that derived from the 2004 film, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, the album explores heartbreak, pain, and exploring new beginnings.
eternal sunshine was produced and written by Grande, Ilya, Max Martin, and Oscar Görres, and many others. In 2022, Grande revealed to media that an album wasn't in the works yet due to her working on the set of Wicked in London. During the writer's strike, she returned back to the United States and began production for an "album" in New York. Grande was spotted interacting with fans in the media and this led to fans thinking that she was recording since the photo showed a building that had a recording studio in it. In late 2023, many radio shows teased the album and by early 2024, Grande released "yes, and?", a house-pop single. Shortly afterwards, we were given the release date for eternal sunshine with the length being around 36 minutes.
eternal sunshine explores Ariana Grande's perspective of her life, post-divorce, heartbreak, and pain is all indulged in this album. With few teases of her ex-husband, Dalton Gomez, in the lyrics, mostly portrayed in the beginning of don't wanna break up again. Grande also explores the genre of house music like in yes, and? and throws everyone off, but it doesn't disturb us since it's a break from the R&B and let's us get up and groove. Not saying that the album doesn't make us get up and groove, eternal sunshine contains beautiful guitar riffs like in intro (end of the world), R&B-like beats shown in true story, and pop-hip-hop beats like in eternal sunshine, the title track. To conclude, eternal sunshine may be her shortest work of art but is her most beautiful one to date and everything in this album compensates for it.

Was So It Goes written in 2015?
almost definitely not. here’s a sneak peak from my reputation timeline:
Oscar Görres, a cowritter on the song, said he got a call from Max Martin, Shellback, and Taylor asking to use his track after he’d just had a child. According to social media, he had a daughter in 2015 and a son in September of 2017. The interview is a bit confusing, timeline-wise. On one had, Görres says “I’d just become a father,” but then he implies that Max and Shellback had already completed most of the album. (For context, English isn’t his first language). Personally, I believe the believe the September 2017 date. Taylor reportedly told multiple secret sessioners that everything on reputation was written for this album, not years in advance, it seems like a song called “Family” was cut from reputation, and the tracklists in the reputation magazines are out of order, suggesting a late addition. Taylor has has also been known to add a song to the album incredibly last minute— most notably Forever & Always on Fearless, but also with Death By A Thousand Cuts on Lover, which had to have been written post April 20, 2019 (but that's for another album).

Lyrics:
Diamonds, diamonds, diamonds, diamonds
Diamonds, diamonds, diamonds, diamonds
Diamonds, diamonds, diamonds, diamonds
Diamonds, diamonds, diamonds, diamonds
Have it all
Rip our memories off the wall
All the special things I bought
They mean nothing to me anymore
But to you
They were everything we were
They meant more than every word
Now I know just what you love me for (mm)
Take all the money you want from me
Hope you become what you want to be
Show me how little you care
How little you care, how little you care
You dream of glitter and gold
My heart's already been sold
Show you how little I care
How little I care, how little I care
My diamonds leave with you
You're never gonna hear my heart break
Never gonna move in dark ways
Baby, you're so cruel
My diamonds leave with you
Material love won't fool me
When you're not here I can breathe
Think I always knew
My diamonds leave with you
(Diamonds, diamonds, diamonds, diamonds)
Shake it off
Shake the fear of feeling lost
Always me that pays the cost
I should never trust so easily
You lied to me, lie-lied to me
Then left with my heart 'round your chest
Take all the money you want from me
Hope you become what you want to be
Show me how little you care
How little you care, how little you care
You dream of glitter and gold
My heart's already been sold
Show you how little I care
How little I care, how little I care
My diamonds leave with you
You're never gonna hear my heart break
Never gonna move in dark ways
Baby, you're so cruel
My diamonds leave with you
Material love won't fool me
When you're not here I can breathe
Think I always knew
My diamonds leave with you
Diamonds, diamonds, diamonds, diamonds (woah-oh)
Diamonds, diamonds, diamonds, diamonds (woah-oh)
Diamonds, diamonds, diamonds, diamonds
Always knew, my diamonds leave with you
Diamonds, diamonds, diamonds, diamonds (woah-oh)
Diamonds, diamonds, diamonds, diamonds (woah-oh)
Diamonds, diamonds, diamonds, diamonds
Always knew
Diamonds, diamonds, diamonds, diamonds
You're never gonna hear my heart break
Never gonna move in dark ways
Baby, you're so cruel
My diamonds leave with you
Material love won't fool me
When you're not here I can breathe
Think I always knew
My diamonds leave with you, oh
You're never gonna hear my heart break
Never gonna move in dark ways (oh-oh)
Baby, you're so cruel (so cruel)
My diamonds leave with you
Material love won't fool me
When you're not here I can breathe
Think I always knew
My diamonds leave with you

I mean she branched out to Aaron and achieved a very different sound with him? So like she does try new stuff? //
Yeah and she used joel little for some songs on lover as well? Like she does try new things but i think what shes doing rn (rerecordings) explicitly calls for.... old things
She worked with Joel, Louis Bell, Frank Dukes and Sounwave on Lover. And obvi Jack. On Rep, aside from Jack and Shellback and Max, she also worked with Oscar Holter, Oscar Görres, Ali Payami and ILYA. Like she has her core collaborators but she branched out regularly and as you say the trick with the re-recording is making it sound IDENTICAL to the old sound so like she can’t be wilding. She needs people who are very good and can copy the old sound, not people who are gonna innovate or experiment.
