Sometimes I ask myself, 'Why does no one ever talk about how much of a foil to Kunikida Nikolai seems?'
And then I remember, 'Ah, that's right. Everyone else thinks reasonably.'

Playing Animal Crossing New Horizons with HSR Men
Warnings: ugly villager slander, established relationship (can be platonic or romantic)
──── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ────
Argenti: Your fellow knight of beauty grows quite fond of the game, immediately finding the freedom of creativity in decoration endearing. He always gives you compliments on your OOTD, and takes screenshots whenever you design a new area on your island. Argenti gave himself the gardening job- spending his bells on red rose seeds. He gets proficient in following the flower guide, and is very proud of himself if he ever gets a golden rose on your island. He loves the villagers, finding them each very cute, and even beauty in the "ugly" villagers. "Did you see the villagers wearing the red rose on their head? I must say I am flattered they love it so much. Though, I am more happy that they appreciate the beauty of our island." He enjoys documenting the beautiful places in your island with photos <3
Aventurine: From the beginning he points out the fact that Tom Nook is a capitalist, which makes you roll your eyes thinking he thinks this game is silly. However, it is quite the opposite as it doesn't take him long to get out of his home loan debt and is somehow extremely lucky. It's unfair to you that he could just log in on any given day and have the best deal for turnips. However because you are his favourite he says he’s willing to buy you whatever you want, he guesses. He happens to be able to catch rare species like the Coelacanth, and it infuriates you but you really can't be if it's helping the museum. "445 bells per turnip, sounds like music to my ears~" "What's that? You want this violin? Well I guess I could spare you a few bells... is one million okay?"
Blade: Let's not kid ourselves here- it takes a lot of convincing and help from Silver Wolf to get him to even be in the presence of Animal Crossing. He says he would much rather stand and look at the wall (SW: "You already do that everyday"). Eventually he sits himself next to you, and listens to your giddy rambling about what to do in the game while he puts on a serious face not saying anything. After the preliminary tutorial/startup gameplay, he finally says, “…why is this rat harassing me for money.” However, the loans aren't the worst but the villagers chasing him down are. He purposely ignores them and grumbles when you tell him to answer ):/. He prefers to watch you play, but because he sees you smile and laugh at his sarcastic comments, he thinks it's not so bad.
Boothill: He's definitely down to try it out, but he ends up being a bit of a troll. He doesn't really mind cute/ugly villagers, until he judges them for what they say. “That’s right, (y/n) did catch all those fish.” “Did he just ask me if he could call me Muffin.” “WHAT DO YOU MEAN I GOTTA PAY ANOTHER LOAN?!!?” Yeah… he quickly feels the grindy-ness, complaining that Tom Nook was working him like a forkin’ dog. A little bit of comical rage, but he won’t lie he is enjoying it. He also asks if there are any guns and he is disappointed, so he opts for the net. He's a little rough and rowdy, but he does it in style. That being said, he 100% spends his extra bells on a cowboy outfit.
Dan Heng: He agrees instantly- aw :(. He knows you (and March) have been begging him to play. He’s is fairly good at it- gets out of the tent quickly, masters catching creatures, a nicely organized house… He’s quite resourceful too, chopping down trees and going to mystery islands to farm the heck out of it. The villagers love him, both of you often seeing them run to him with the little sparkly flowers. And even though he's normally serious, you can't help but fawn over how sweet he is with the villagers. "...She wants to call me Shmoopy, do I-" "YES." Villagers asking him to catch a fish? He's immediately on it. He remembers their names and treats them like real people :(
Dr. Ratio: "Is it educational?" Bro is such a nerd. You deadpan at him, and sass him for expecting this to be IXL or something. He is also one to get through the tutorial part easily. You expected him to be overly critical of the game, but he finds appreciation in the museum: both the creatures and the art. Is it a farfetched idea that I think he'd know how to tell the reals and fakes right off the bat? "Do you really think Da Vinci spilled coffee on his work?" At least it saves you the troubles of wasting your bells and getting a fake. I think your island would not be a mess, and would have at least a few statues (you know the ones) which add his touch to it.
Gallagher: Honestly he's happy as long as he gets a little area for himself. Kind of a wild card this one- somehow calm and chaotic at the same time, and it's puzzling because how is he doing such weird things with a straight face? Trolls the villagers quite a bit (he's lucky ACNH villagers are nice) by hitting them with a net (just once though) and giving them different catchphrases every time they ask. "Why is Bob saying 'spaghettini' at the end of his sentences?" "Um, because I thought it'd be funny? Also I'm kinda hungry so-" "Gallagher ):/" Despite the randomness, he is wholesome at times. He is also one to compliment your new outfit, and stargaze with you on the new area you decorated.
Gepard: He's busy so you weren't expecting too much from him, but he takes pride in having a well-rounded island. He gets so excited when he catches a new species that you don't have yet- what a cutie. Also goes full throttle when there's a bug-off or fishing tourney. Despite being a video game, I feel like there will be some way he messes up taking care of plants. The flowers overgrow, the turnips rot, and he doesn't understand why the trees aren't growing? But with some tips from you along with your island designing skills, your island rank moves up and he is BEAMING. "Zucker asked about you." "...he did?" "Mhm, he asked how you were doing, and said he saw you laying out pathways on the island."
Jing Yuan: He finds it so cute when you ask him to play. Lowkey like Blade where he likes watching your happy expressions when playing. He's happy that this game provides him a way to relax while not getting bored. Secretly an enjoyer of villager drama: "Wolfgang wants to apologize to Audie with this present. What happens if I don't deliver it?" "Again? Ah, just give it to her quickly." "...what if I don't." "...Jing Yuan." Oddly I feel like he'd enjoy the group stretching (what an old man), and encourages you to join. Like the "Dozing General" he is, there will be times when he's inactive and gets the bed head.
Luocha: You weren't expecting him to enjoy the game, but he's surprisingly willing to be resourceful. His storage is full of materials, which you scold him for because this is the reason for his empty undecorated house. But he always has things you need so you can't exactly complain. Also one to be pretty smart with managing bells and resources, able to maximize their worth. When the island gets visitors like Label or Flick, he has items ready. "Luocha... where did you get that coat?" "This? It's a designer piece, from Miss Label." I'd say he does have a sense of beauty in design, so thankfully your island is gorgeous.
Sampo: Sympathizes with Redd like a true scammer. "Aw look, he just needs a bit of money to get started... he even gave us a 'cousin's discount'." However, a rivalry starts with Redd when Sampo's first art piece turned out to be fake (scammer gets scammed moment). He asks if he can be the salesman that he's supposed to be. When villagers run up to him to offer bells for an item he has, he accepts thinking it'll get him a deal along the way. Unfortunately friendship gets you nowhere in terms of home loans. I'd say he's pretty good with the turnip stonks, so there's a balance. Also TRASH ISLAND. I'm sorry, but your man is a hoarder, "But what if I need this?" (Literally me.)
Welt: When you ask him to play he asks why the animals are crossing. He finds the style and characters are so cute, and he can see why you enjoy it. This is definitely a way he gets in touch with his "youthful" side. He loves the creative freedom in the game, even getting indecisive about how to design your island, and thinking of what outfit to wear. He once made a simple t-shirt for fun, but was surprised when he saw a villager wearing it. It'd be so cute and funny when he learns new emotes- and he just spams them with a straight face. Not gameplay related, but I feel like in his free time he'd draw you both in villager form <3.

Request: can u do how the om brothers would react to a mc that is like. (for lack of better words) EXTREMELY dumb ..... like karen smith level slow💀
CW: none really, gn!reader, this is honestly just some crack but it was so fun, also reader is dumb but like also likeable?? They're just confused but they've got the spirit. Dividers by @/cafekitsune <3
Tumblr media
Lucifer
Lucifer is....overwhelmed to say the least. Although he does find your wide confused look at everything slightly adorable, his neck breaks from all the times he's gotten whiplash from seeing you get upto something incredibly stupid.
It also absolutely gets on his last nerves that his brothers rope you into their shenanigans and then blame it on you when they get caught, cause they know that Lucifer is not going to punish you except for a little sigh and look of "disappointed but not surprised".
Mammon
You two really take the prize for the most adorable and dumbest couple ever. Mammon was lowkey surprised that there was someone more clueless than him. He didn't think that was possible. He loves your confusion at everything 'cause you tend to support all his plans to make money, no matter how ridiculous they seem to others.
He will be ready to fight anyone though if they so much as to insult you in any way.
Leviathan
At first, Levi thinks you're absolutely horrifying because you remind him so much of Mammon. Though as he warms up to you, you're the only he tolerates cause he loves the way you listen to all his rants even though you don't understand half of it.
He is also very biased towards you. Mammon and you could be doing the same stupid stuff, but guess who gets insulted? Mammon <3 You could simply do no wrong in his eyes.
Satan
Everyone thinks that Satan would most likely get annoyed by your clueless-ness but its the exact opposite. You remind him of those orange cats that do the dumbest things possible and almost get killed. He thinks its adorable.
Even though your interests don't match often, he's always open to hear you rant on about your day and hobbies. He's also another one who is ready to make someone go missing if they insult you.
Asmodeus
Asmo will literally squeal in joy of how cute you are. He will ignore every questioning look when you ask something stupid and will just honestly go on a rant of how adorably clueless you are about everything.
He fights the inner urge to squish your cheeks gently in his hands, because he thinks he might just die of cuteness overload at your confused puppy look at stuff.
Beelzebub
Beel, for the most part, doesn't mind your oblivious nature and thinks its just cute how you manage to not think about so much stuff and be happy in your own little world. His favourite time of the day is probably when he gets to listen to you rant about whatever while eating his snacks.
Beel is also absolutely ready to defend you when someone insults you, its the only time anyone sees him get angry for something non-food related. He just gets the cutest little frown on his face when he sees that someone upset you with their words.
Belphegor
Belphie bullies you, no question asked. Of course, its all playful bullying but if he sees that his words seriously hurt you, he'll silently cuddle up to you before murmuring a soft apology for being mean.
If anybody else says something to you, well get ready to find a missing person report a few days on the news <3

More SecurityWaiter/ DreamTheory headcanons cuz I said so
Ness does not put on an act at sparky’s he’s just like that
Even when he’s not working he still wears bright button downs and tucks them into khakis
Ness can NOT keep a secret for the life of him, but Mike also loves gossiping so it works out
Mike dropped out of high school while Ness was homeschooled and didn’t get a proper education, so they’re very dumb together
“Babe was Christopher Columbus a president?” “No I think he was the guy that invented the lightbulb”
Mike is the little spoon
Ness makes musical references that Mike never gets, sometimes randomly breaking out in song
Whenever Mike compliments Ness, whether about his voice or personality, he instantly cries
Ness taught Mike a lot of tips on getting out of panic attacks and breakdowns, like the name five things tip
They both have autism and are on opposite sides of the spectrum
Ness absolutely lives for drama, if he was in the present day he would watch those beauty guru drama videos on YouTube
It kinda seems on the outside that Mike doesn’t really like Ness, but that’s just how Mike shows his affection, he’s not really a loud and proud kind of guy, while Ness is, though when they’re alone Mike is very affectionate
Mike can be extremely needy, but in a
Mike is a terrible cook (shown through my comic haha go read it)
Mike is very clueless when it comes to flirting, he did NOT understand that multiple female characters in the movie where flirting with him and he did NOT understand when Ness flirted with him either
Anyway that’s it I have extreme brain rot abt them

This page* from Unmasking Autism by Dr. Devon Price is a great example of why I can't stand Price's writing. Validating autistic existence (and complaining about how autistic behavior gets pathologized) is eminently possible without lying/swinging hard into the opposite absolutes.
Not only does he say "completely harmless" about behaviors that have readily identified harms, he labels common autistic behaviors (which should absolutely be understood, & contextualized as part of human experience) as "healthy", which at its most innocuous is saying that these behaviors are present in otherwise unremarkable autistic people but which I interpret to mean he believes these are *necessarily euadaptive* behaviors. The absolutism of "complete[ness]" and necessity has no place in serious writing about psychology.
Anyway that's the point I wanted to make, but here are some specifics about how these normal and understandable behaviors (many of which I exhibit) aren't harmless:
1) Not noticing surroundings can be super dangerous! Not noticing that people are trying to talk to you is mildly inconvenient (which is a harm)!
2) *Needing* to know what to expect implies that being thrust into an unfamiliar situation w/o information causes distress irrespective of the actual contents of the situation. That's a harm (despite merely being an extreme version of a universal part of human experience)!
3) The more rigid a structure is, the more catastrophically and frequently it breaks. Rejecting deviations often means rejecting necessary activities like eating, or like leaving a dangerous situation.
4) Taking a long time to fully respond to a question is fine. Giving no sign that you're considering — or have even heard — the question is distressing to yr conversational partner. I highly recommend going "hmm" or cocking yr head to the side when you think about things, if this is true of you.
5) Taking information into consideration is a healthy behavior. It is physically impossible to know literally all information about a decision. Depending on your definition of "all", this behavior may lead to spinning your mental wheels while never making an actual decision, which mad sucks to experience and to cooperate with.
6) Alexithymia (i.e. not knowing how you feel) also sucks to experience! Just because you can't name or even identify the existence of a feeling doesn't mean you don't have it! Like the other behaviors I've mentioned, alexithymia has no inherent moral weight.
Anyway! I love being autistic, and wouldn't choose otherwise even if I could, but some parts of it are maladaptive even when the only other people you interact with are also autistic, and I wish Dr Price would acknowledge that.
ETA: apparently it's page 243 in the physical book! Thanks @heightjoke

alright, I've wrestled the amorphous blob of my many thoughts about Constance Isles—not the amorphous blob of Chthonstance Isles, that would have to be another post—into some semblance of legibility ( @domini-porter come get your juice)
what's most interesting to me, at least right now, is looking at Jane and Constance as foils for one another, specifically in re: Maura.
what we've got is one idiot who loves Maura so much but has decided she mustn't show it, and one who doesn't know how to love her even though she should, and maybe wants to. one who can't help but love Maura and one who appears to take for granted that she gets to. and they both resent each other because of it. Jane resents Constance because she can't imagine anyone not knowing how to love Maura, not wanting to show her love, not treating her the way she deserves to be treated, always. and Constance resents Jane and Maura's easy intimacy and the fact that Jane knows Maura better than she does, though that's her own fault and she also knows that.
they also hate themselves, of course (Constance knows she was not the best mother she perhaps could've been, or at least not the one Maura needed. Jane thinks certain things she's done and certain mistakes she's made mean she's bad and that she deserves for bad things to happen to her, and for good things not to. this is also Catholic and probably at the centre of my thoughts on Jane being raised Catholic but that's another post). the other brings that self-hatred into sharper focus for each of them. Jane gets closeness without apparently trying, which is infuriating to Constance who never got it (though as far as we know she didn't particularly try either. why does it get to work for Jane but not her?). Constance has a right to Maura in all the real, official ways but nothing in their relationship to show for it, which is infuriating to Jane, who has a very deep and real connection with Maura but not one that means anything in particular on paper. Both of them have the ability to change these things and don't. Constance I think is more self-aware in what she's missing than Jane is, and possibly I'm stretching the parallel a bit far suggesting Jane would value a legal right to Maura in and of itself; but she sure would value it practically. If Maura were incapacitated and someone had to make a decision on her behalf (ignoring for a moment any legal provisions Maura might have set up for the very reason the Maura is the one who set them up and I'm talking about Jane), you bet your bottom dollar Jane would be seething if it couldn't be her making that decision, legally. She knows she can't say it aloud, but she would be.
and then of course there's the class stuff. Constance (and Maura) and Jane are socio-economically extremely distant from one another, and that's always yummy in character interactions. they have Thoughts about each other right away that are independent of what they know about one another from Maura. they have prejudices and biases and us vs. them shit that gets their backs up and colours their exchanges very conspicuously. and they both act very similarly about it, in the few canon moments we have to analyze on the subject. they're both proud and they're both defensive and they're both insecure. but from opposite sides.
the scene where Constance shows up to the dirty robber is so delicious to me for Jane's brash blue collar-ness and how unprepared Constance is for it and how Maura is with both of them: loving. they're both posturing for Maura in a way in that scene. Constance is trying to act like she can enjoy the things Maura apparently enjoys (only with Jane but never mind that), and Jane is trying to make Constance uncomfortable because it's one small way she can try to make Constance pay for not being who Maura needs/needed her to be. and because she gets a kick out of it herself, definitely.
Jane is in her element, on her own territory—she's won. as regards Maura, in that moment at least, it seems apparent that Jane has won. Maura is there of her own free will, with Jane and with Jane's mother, and Jane has won. and Constance and Jane both know it, and Constance is trying to get on the winning side, and Jane is rubbing it in. it's about Maura herself of course, entirely directly, but it's also about Maura indirectly and in these complex, class-informed, potentially subconscious ways.
god bless Jacqueline Bisset, man. good shit.

Halfway through July, and I have neglected to write my yearly birthday introspection, although it did occur to me that between my birthday and the new year I was in fact doing two introspections a year anyways.
For certain reasons I've been waffling about it, but it's also quite nice to be able to look back and compare with the previous year, to see what's changed (sometimes unexpectedly) and what's still the same. Last year I mentioned I "made a close friend [...] and disentangled myself from a draining relationship", but in the end I had been drawn to said friend because he was the polar opposite of the person I was disentangling myself from, and while a different extreme might have been refreshing in the moment, that too was unsustainable in the long run. I think what finally dragged me out of the cycle of too-clingy/too-distant nebulous just-friends-but-what-if sort of relationships was twofold: I started going to counselling with a goal (not the usual "I feel like I'm having a breakdown so I'll see a therapist for 3-6 months before ditching"), and also got into a communal hobby such that I was able to make casual friends and attend regular and diverse events with a time limit (rather than laser focusing on one person and relying on them for all my socialising).
A year ago I said I was feeling adrift, goal-less, and filled with the sort of summer malaise inspired by the scorching Taipei weather this time of year. Unfortunately we are still rather scorched. The temperature and UV levels somewhat put a damper on my usual practice of walking around outside looking at things. On the positive side, I did struggle through the adrift-ness and applied for one (1) grad school program over the winter, which I didn't get into but I did learn that I feel better when I'm working on something, and I was also motivated to finally take Taiwan's Chinese proficiency exam to open up my options for the sort of programs I could try for in the future (I passed a level higher than I expected to, and it was great to feel acknowledgment of my competence at something I'd really put long-term effort into). After the grad school rejection I started planning the trip to Ladakh, which allllmost felt like it involved a similar level of paperwork and fuss- and actually pulling that off in the end (ok, even tho this was after my birthday) despite all my fears and anxiety (particularly around travelling post-transition) was also a great confidence boost. (For a week after I also had this frantic urge to drastically change my life, and I can't tell if it wore off with time or if the heat simply drained out all ambition beyond staying out of the sun and sitting in front of the fan eating cold dragonfruits.)
I have at least two proper goals now, and although one may require starting over entirely from an educational standpoint, as they say, "the time will pass anyways". On my bike rides at night I do tend to start pondering what shall become of me, creeping along in the years but being no closer to permanent or even temporary residency status than any other time I write about it either wistfully or with well-intentioned but otherwise ultimately futile determination, nor feeling like I am useful for any sort of capitalist pursuits. (I suppose this is the part of reflection wherein things have stayed the same, and we must stay tuned for next year.) But I also believe I have made some progress in deflating a little the omnipresent catholic guilt at simply existing, not to mention the adjacent notion that enjoying life a bit and not being maximally miserable at all times is a SIN. By this I mean I have gone twice now to a nice hair salon to let a beautiful woman shampoo, condition, and also give me a haircut that doesn't bear a strong resemblance to a bichon-frise immediately after.
All in all, I would say the verdict is incremental improvement. (Okay maybe I'm also racking up incremental nerve damage from all the shibari but you win some you lose some.) My housing/employment/visa-running status hasn't changed dramatically but I feel more hopeful and kinder with myself. I think my Chinese reading speed has kicked up a notch. I've managed to keep the instant noodle consumption under control. I've sent a lot of postcards on my quarterly trips, which are generally well-received. I have taken great delight in growing many plants in the window cage (whether they survive is another thing, RIP to the tomato plants while I was away, bravo to the basil that miraculously rehydrated from what seemed to be a completely unsalvageable state, sorry to the lemon tree sprout that was apparently doing fine on its own before I came back and over-watered it to death). Things feel kinda okay, and I used to be quite suspicious of this because surely they were only going to get worse again, but these days I figure hey, even so, might as well enjoy it while it lasts.

my misgendering kink has been going brrrr lately so here's some thoughts that involve it
How some DoL characters would react to PC coming out as trans
(CW/TW for transphobia for most of these! these guys are not nice)
Avery is against it if you're anything less than passing in public. They will make a point to make you appear as your birth gender as much as possible (i.e. controlling your clothing). What would it say about them and their reputation if word gets out that they're dating a tr***y?
Harper acts supportive when you come out to them during one of your friday therapy sessions, and is relatively indifferent for the most part, but they start to make comments asking if you're sure? Maybe this is stemming from something else? But it doesn't escalate until the asylum where they gaslight you into questioning if you really are trans, maybe you're making it up for attention. Their whole thing is getting you to accept your ""real"" self and make a point to misgender you very often. Constant gaslighting and hypnosis molds you into how they want and their goal is to get you to forget about this silly little phase <3 (extra note: if they find out you're taking hormones, they'll make sure the pharmacy refuses to sell it to you anymore for some bullshit reason)
Bailey is, well,, you might as well have just not told Bailey at all because they couldn't give any less of a shit. As long as you use it to your advantage and get them money, they won't bother you about it
Briar is fine with it, there's plenty of people into shit like that. They are similar to Bailey, in the sense that all they'd care about is if it gets you money. They'd see it as an opportunity and set up special shows, using all the fetish names for it they can while advertising
Eden is EXTREMELY against it. You're their wife/husband and nothing will change that, your gender is your genitalia when it comes to them. If you try to correct them, they will ignore you. If you push, they will have no hesitation beating the ideas out of you. (I can also imagine them putting you in the cage as an attempt to get rid of the ideas Society put into your mind). At higher love they might try to gender you correctly, but they still grumble about how it's Wrong
Kylar is probably supportive unless it means they find out that you guys have the same genitals, then you're in deep shit. They have a meltdown because now y'all can't make the babies they've always dreamed of. How could you trick them >:((( I feel like they'd have to grow on it though because you're still you, and that's all they could ask for (and if the opposite is true and they learn you guys can make babies,,, then prepare to fuck like rabbits because Kylar is not gonna waste a single second more)
Pure!Sydney thinks it's a sin and that you should spend more time at the temple, tries to guilt you with religion and has troubling thoughts of their own about being friends with/dating someone like you. Corrupted!Sydney would be full-on supportive, I'd think
Robin is also full-on supportive, and maybe your open-ness to them would help them come to some conclusions about themself
Whitney is Whitney. Telling them is a mistake because you've just given them a new thing to bully you about. If they gender you correctly, they do it in a mocking tone. Personally they don't really care though, as long as you're still their slut
Leighton doesn't misgender you, but they fetishize the shit out of you. Also blackmail blackmail blackmail (that's all I have to say for them tbh lmao)
Remy would scoff, but not think much of it. What silly ideas, you're just a cow, cows can't be trans. Go eat some grass.

I agree with your take on Mobius so much! People treat him like a cinnamon roll. Which he isn't. He is a horrible person but no one wants to acknowledge that. Sylvie is terrible too, but at least people acknowledge her flaws which is something I guess. Oh, and I had watched season 2 of Loki series, and Mobius was so ooc in the first episode. Like, he randomly went from torturing and manipulating and gaslighting Loki to suddenly risking his life for Loki. It made me wanna throw up. I have never seen such a random 180° turn. Extremely ooc. And Lokius shippers eat that shit up. Like, I don't know whether you have watched Season 2 or not, but there's a scene where Mobius volunteers to do something extremely risky to save Loki. And yeah, I don't believe that crap at all. Tomorrow they might suddenly show Thanos risking his life for Loki too. I think season 2 episode 1 should have came with an OOC warning attached lol.
Have a great day! ❤️
Unfortunately, I have watched all of the series. I may talk about Lokius shippers a lot, but Sylki shippers (though there’s only like… two of them nowadays) have the same issue that Lokius shippers have. They only acknowledge the flaws of the character from the opposite ship, and not the flaws of the character they ship with Loki. Sylvie fans hate Mobius, Mobius fans hate Sylvie. There’s issues with both characters! Are you kidding me?
YES EXACTLY. He was very OOC… I guess he got some kind of “redemption”/“change of heart” or some shit behind the scenes. Why do you suddenly love Loki so much? Of course the shippers eat it up. They’d eat literal garbage if it was orange color coded with grey hair, and green color coded with black hair or played by Tom/Owen.
Nothing towards either actors BTW hope it doesn’t come off as that. I mean this towards the fans, not the actors!
It’s just… these aren’t even the same characters anymore. That’s not even Loki! And Mobius, though I have no love for him, isn’t even himself anymore. The writing is so fucking inconsistent not only with Loki, but with EVERYONE.
Yep. I do know what you’re talking about. Why so lovey dovey and knight in shining armor all of a sudden? Why would he suddenly risk his life for someone he threw into a time loop to get physically assaulted without a second thought? Oh why cause they hugged so it’s okay now? 🤦🏻‍♀️
Look, if Mobius had apologized or even acknowledged his previous behaviors, then I wouldn’t be so freaked out by the way the fandom treats him or the OOC-ness (because obviously they’re gonna let shit slide for a mediocre ship) But… NONE OF THAT HAPPENED! Think I spoke about this in one of my last posts but so many Loki “fans” TRULY believe Loki needs to be humbled. That’s why they don’t bat an eye at the abuse coming from Mobius. As well as them being eager to excuse absolutely anything in order to not ship the “straight” ship.
It’s getting really weird. Some of them want Lokius to be canon just because “Ooh gay ship” and not because they really believe Loki and Mobius go along well together and they’re opposites attract and one’s a god one’s a human and so on. Whatever tropes you can throw in there.
And Lokius fans pretending to be so much more morally superior/holier than thou for being against Sylki because of the selfcest shit… YOU EXCUSE MOBIUS VERBALLY DEMEANING LOKI AND HAVING HIM BE PHYSICALLY ASSAULTED… HOW IS THAT BETTER?! This is like the pot calling the kettle black. Like I’ve said before, If Mobius was female.. People would hate his guts! And the amount of people shipping Lokius would be so, so much lower. And they’d actually see the flaws of the show.
Hope this does not sound like me trying to defend Sylki/Sylvie in anyway, Both are HORRIBLE, bottom of the barrel, and garbage ships. Sylvie’s writing/actions are not excused just because she’s female. It’s just Lokius shippers are more prevalent, therefore more annoying to me. And for some reason, Lokius shippers tend to be a lot more immature. I think because they’re usually younger than Sylki shippers.
I understand people want representation, but there are so many ships that have been done better. You don’t need to grasp for straws just because you only now learned that Loki is bisexual!
THE THANOS POINT LOLLLLLLL EXACTLY. That cracked me up, I won’t lie. I wouldn’t be surprised if that became a thing. They’re just so desperate to ship anyone and everyone! Can we think critically about these characters/movies/series for one moment?
Thank you! You too ❤️

Since it was buried deep in a long esoteric fandom post, i kinda want to extract and expand on this comment as its own post
There is an ancient, global, historical and cultural meme that gets glossed over a lot: a ton of christian concepts of Satan, and of Hell, and satanic-ness, is based on antisemitic interpretations of jews, but also, and i mean this in the coolest possible way, as a Jew, much of it is based on Jewish imagery -- in particular, it is based on Jewish G-d.
there's the explicit, overwhelming, absolutely ubiquitous association with fire, to the point where it is the overwhelmingly major attribute of G-d, and any invocation of fire in the jewish tanakh hints at connotations of G-d. Blood dashing and blood marking, and flesh sacrifice by slaughtering and burning of offerings throughout the jewish Tanakh, especially in Exodus. The frightening imagery of fire and brimstone has entered basic western vocabulary so deeply that this imagery -- imagery that in the sources characterizes all of G-d's and the Jews' presence and religious behavior in Exodus and throughout the rest of the Tanakh -- is casually described as hellish and satanic. Volcanoes' lava fields are 'hellish', fires of natural gases producing pillars of flame and smoke are 'hellish'. rituals of fire and blood and burning and heavy costumery and ancient crumbling scrolls hidden in arks embossed and engraved with strange tongues are satanic. and the devil is given a characterization thinly echoing torah's depiction of jewish G-d: as a challenging and frightening and alluring figure who straddles fae-adjacent borders between tricksterish disruption and extreme legalism, who makes deals and bargains (covenants, even) with humans.
In christianity it's usually a distancing game -- a forcible identification of all these recognizable attributes of G-d and judaism with the non-god, christian figure of the devil; and simultaneously a forcible identification of jewish g-d with christian god (after all these attributes are stripped out), and of christian god with extremely different attributes, or at least opposition to the devil. But not always.
It's found in exactly as many words in foundational Gnostic theology that had a great amount of influence on the development of early christianity: it explicitly and actively (rather than the implicit coding above that mainstream christian imagery does) identifies Jewish G-d, as in the exact God of the Jews who is depicted in the Torah, as a false god, the archon and demiurge, who should not be, who is responsible for creating the material world as an illusory, fallen, sinful, inherently corrupted world as an intentional prison, rather than an incomplete starting point a la grapes-but-not-wine, and whom Jews evilly or deludedly follow to maintain the existence of this sinful world rather than escaping to the neoplatonic purity of true forms, where the True God, the New Testament god who includes Jesus Christ, rules instead.
It's pretty ~normal as a process goes! (it in fact totally mirrors some stuff in judaism, where we identified various things as treyf because they had connotations of a canaanite pagan thing LMAO. semiotics using ingroups and outgroups in this way is very very common, and normal! and our g-d, of course, with Its troubled, complex heart, in many ways is from folding the hearts of many different canaanite gods into one person). but in this case it's maybe unique in scope and subtlety, for contingent historical reasons: a case of the sign outstripping the signified to an incredible extent and also of trying to backdoor-in identification with the god in question (eg the designation of gnosticism as a heretical sect by christianity, because mainstream christians preferred to recontextualize/repurpose jewish g-d, rather than break from It and allow jewish g-d to be defined by/identified with jews, even if in the gnostics’ explicitly evil way).
it does also have a weird consequence more modernly, among ppl who backlash to christianity with eg [demonic imagery is cool] stuff and don't realize what it looks like to people who have a slightly larger camera aperture: just skipping over the entire existence of judaism in terms of why the hell-stuff exists or is a hell-thing in the first place (there are a few reasons, and this is the big one). like, it DOES feel bizarre when there's like, ppl trying to be edgy and subversive by embracing christian demonicness that [checks notes] is just aesthetics and attitudes that are just very traditional jewish imagery and ritual. yk it just feels a bit....'hm....do they....uh.....know...'. when the old satanists 'inverted' the jesus pentagrammaton with uh, just the sigil of baphomet, as if the hebrew lettering etc is originally christian. like….
as most peopel know, the association of judaism with satanism is both extremely a longstanding Thing in antisemitism, but also smth jews are Super dystonic and jumpy to disclaim for obvious reasons.
now ofc jews's flat statement that this association is just fake is like, 'true', in that while judaism certainly developed in the past 2 millennia with an awareness of christianity and in the same world as a variety of other cultural influences, judaism is obviously not about christianity. as in, it doesn't categorize its elements and framework of the world according to christian elements and frameworks. but 'it's fake' is not like...a complete answer i guess. (like, it implies hell aesthetics were totally independent and preexisting and judaism was only associated with it post-hoc); it's also kinda, giving up ground? in the going straight to 'hdu say we're freaks! we r normal!' rather than 'is that supposed to be an insult? being a freak is cool and also your instinct to categorize us this way is telling and interesting'
this isn't unique, similar reactions happen alot where there's a marginalized culture trying to avoid violence lol, but it's sort of. lame. why not lean into this attempted dunk. the material universe as a delicious as well as incomplete and perilous mass of bursting universeness, whose materiality is what brings about both fortune and misery, brought to material existence by jewish g-d who is scary and bizarre and fiery and has a great deal of weird opinions/ideas about a bunch of detailed specifics about this-worldly life and the this-worldly material of the universe, who makes deals with the particular people who engage with them -- who is a recognizable germinating seed of the surface of christian hell and satanic aesthetics and ideas, is metal and interesting!
and it's not like. idk. a set of frames that are incompatible with christianity either, afaict some traditions lean harder than others, but i'm jewish and obviously not exactly an expert in those aspects of christianity lol.
a friend of mine regarding their conversion to judaism said:
like g-d as a... person, for lack of better terms. g-d who is a bit of an unknown quantity? sort of devilish, smirking at you when They offer a deal and you are not aware of the legalese (or maybe you are! ) and it's just like. this is how g-d is. g-d is just being g-d, g-d is this rascal who is quite particular but also endlessly enamoured with what people will do...
i didnt (& still dont!) care for satan in the christian sense because ....i don't find a god who is unchangign and eternal and sort of... impersonal.... in any way interesting. & thus an anti-god who is.... there and personal but like just to "tempt" you or w/e is also boring in comparison.
but g-d who is playful, who is tempting and trying to seduce you and be seduced, who you can bargain w and get into a contract w which might seem "unfair" in some ways (fucking halakhah right wwww) and like bullshit legalese but it's like....

Descendant Persona Chart observations P2
Tumblr media
People with Venus-Neptune in positive aspect(Sextile, Trine, and Conjunction)in this persona chart could attract people who are sensitive, romantic, sweet, attractive, submissive, and creative. Also these people could feel this kinda soul connection between them and the other people to where the vibe is always good. These people could also attract people who are liars, cheaters , etc; though it doesn’t happen as often as the negative aspects(Square, Opposition). This is for both relationship wise and friendship wise. Or your relationships and/or friendships could’ve had this kinda vibe. Also the people who have this could be like this towards others.
People with Mercury-Mars in positive aspect(Sextile, Trine, and Conjunction)in this persona chart could attract people who are quick witted, who have a sharp mind, enthusiastic, sarcastic, a bit impatient, and argumentative, but in a fun way and not in a bad way. This is for both relationship wise and friendship wise. Or your relationships and/or friendships could’ve had this kinda vibe. Also the people who have this could be like this towards others.
People with Sun-Ascendant in positive aspect(Sextile, Trine, and Conjunction)in this persona chart are really the type to easily express themselves when they’re around their friends, partners, etc. These people could attract people that are really fun, expressive, vibrant, and warm. This is for both relationship wise and friendship wise. Or your relationships and/or friendships could’ve had this kinda vibe. Also the people who have this could be like this towards others.
I’ve seen that people with Venus-Mars in negative aspect(Square, Opposition)in this persona chart could attract relationships in particular where there is a lot of physical intimacy, but it doesn’t feel like its enough or that it’s not satisfying and could feel like one partner feels pleasure while the other doesn’t. Also the relationships could have a ton of passion and love, but both may not be able to give one another enough to where it feels like it’s enough, though that’s mostly for the square, still it could be for opposition too.
People with Venus-Pluto aspects in this persona chart could attract people who love intensely, are mysterious, seductive, loyal, extremely sensual, and are magnetic, but these people could also attract obsessive, possessive, controlling, manipulative, and love-hate relationships, friendships, etc. People with Venus-Pluto in negative aspect(Square, Opposition)in this persona chart could attract more toxic ness and more intense, extreme feelings than the positive aspects(Sextile, Trine, and Conjunction). Or your relationships and/or friendships could’ve had this kinda vibe. Also the people who have this could be like this towards others.
People with Sun-Jupiter aspects in this persona chart could attract people who are jovial, funny, optimistic, lucky, and positive. People with Sun-Jupiter in negative aspect(Square, Opposition)could attract people that are more dramatic, overly confident, and excessive, but could also be generous and helpful. This is for both relationship wise and friendship wise. Or your relationships and/or friendships could’ve had this kinda vibe. Also the people who have this could be like this towards others.
People with their Ascendant in a fire sign(Aries, Leo, and Sagittarius)can appear to be really fiery, passionate, outgoing, confident, and energetic within their relationships, friendships, etc. People with their MC in a fire sign can appear to people to have exciting, adventurous, extremely passionate, and big hearted relationships, friendships, etc. but again with aspects from other planets could change the traits or add more.

Liquido, Shane Finn and Skipper (Trio Headcanons)
- Thick as Thieves.
- They considered each other like real sharks tribe like in Finding Nemo.
- They may be over the edge over people but they bond very well with sharks they encountered.
- Skipper is the mom friend who gives solid advice and scold Liquido for his recklessness. He is also the only person besides Coach Del Aqua who can put Liquido on his place in casual manner.
- Liquido is the asshole who also treat his friends as such but tone down due to the same interest and teammates who spent more time in water than earthly sentiments. These two are few of the people he can tone down his snarky ness and asshole ness.
- Shane Finn is the average joe who just hangs out with Liquido because the guy brings too much energy and enjoy extreme challenges. He also enjoys Skipper pragmatic advice and take the advice to his heart.
- They may be close but if things get rough, specifically in pure malicious, you are on your own. ( Why do you think in Depth Charge S05E03, Skipper and Shane Finn just let Liquido be punished?). Just because they are friends, they are not to coddle someone.
- Likes to taunt opposition teams but purely for rivalry. They know when to draw the line to avoid pure conflict.
- Liquido appreciates them deep down but will never say it out loud cause it will let his guard down due to his trust issues from his rough childhood.
- Shane Finn is practically the charmer who gets the ladies or guys on off days while people get intimidated with Liquido and Skipper is already taken or not that interested in hook ups.
- Enjoy grilled fish with sodas by the campfire while view ocean at night.

I’m in a Batfam mood so I’ll put this here for if Batfam comes back around but I am stuck on the idea of Tim or Damian specifically seeing platonic!darling as like, a twin.
For Tim it’d happen if Batsis was his equal in intelligence, can match his wit and tenacity and his strategic mind. Darling is his fresh eyes on a project, can pick apart his mood with a glance. It’d be more difficult to get this darling to his side because Batsis just /knows/ him and /knows/ what he’s planning, but that just drives Tim more. He needs them by his side, because how else would they be so in sync if they were not of the same mind?
For Damian, it would be because Batsis is his opposite. The yin to his yang, the water to his fire, the light in the dark, so on so forth. Damian would be in jealous awe at how easy it is for Batsis to be social and bright, so giving and good. He’d want to be with them constantly because they weren’t anything like him. They can trust without paranoia, can smile even if they’re in pain. If the two are young enough then Batsis is the one person he can be a child with. He needs them to love him because it’s so easy for them to love. He refuses to share it with anyone else.
Idk it’s just. The extreme love of a yandere that literally thinks of their darling as their other half, split down the middle and their mind breaks a little when the darling doesn’t agree. Can’t Batsis see? Even if they weren’t biologically related, they were meant to be one.
I really love this concept! Being someone’s other half doesn’t strictly have to be romantic and to mix the yandere-ness into it just adds so much more to the intensity of it.
Tim feels like his darling is his missing piece, when they’re together no matter what they fit so perfectly and he can’t help but love the feeling of being complete. He’s grateful that they know him as well as they do, at least before his obsession has set in. He appreciates that he doesn’t have to tell them how he’s feeling or what exactly he’s thinking for them to just understand him right away. Tim can’t quite explain his overwhelming connection to the Reader but he absolutely clings onto it, onto them. But given how intelligent the Reader is they’ll be more than likely to pick up on his obsession which will only cause them to distance themself from Tim, resulting in him only being further plunged into his obsession all the more. How could he possibly let his other half pull away from him? How could he just allow himself to lose that feeling of being whole? He can’t and he won’t. It’s during this time that Tim finds himself resenting that the Reader does indeed know him so well, that they can so easily read him as well as they can, but then again that’s what made them so similar and what worked for them to begin with. Not only can the Reader read him and know him like the back of their hand, Tim can do the same with them. It’s very much a back and forth thing between the two, their own little game really. It would be hard to know who made the first move or had the first thought out of the two given how eerily in sync they are. But Tim may just have to up the ante if he wants to keep his darling with him and protect that feeling of fulfillment he has because of them. He may have to stray from his and his darling’s similarity, especially in how they think and react for him to be able to be one step ahead of them and ensure they stay right where they are in his life.
Damian at first is filled with only envy and resentment at just how easy it comes for the Reader to make friends, to interact with anyone they come into contact with, to be able to freely express themselves how they please while he has to keep himself under wraps and remain guarded because that’s how he’s been conditioned. He use to find himself perplexed by just how the Reader couldn’t be overcome with the utter need to watch their back, to look over their shoulder, to question the intentions of each and everyone they crossed paths with. He just thought that they were too soft and clueless about the true evils of the world but eventually he found himself falling into a different rhythm with them. He still can’t fully comprehend how they could possibly come to love and care for him like they have but then again that was just how they were.
He didn’t have to prove himself to his darling for them to see and know him for who he really was and the purpose he had. Damian didn’t have to do anything but exist for them to give him a chance to be a part of their life and he couldn’t be more grateful for it. And he would do anything to continue to stay in their life, especially if that meant keeping others from being able to. Damian sees the Reader as something to protect, they’re just too good and pure compared to him and he wants to do everything in his power to keep them that way. He in no way, shape, or form wants to share their love and attention, and given how freely they give it all away to such undeserving people, Damian can’t help but feel threatened that someone else will come along and steal his place and be what his darling needs. And because of that he’ll ward off anyone and everyone from even coming close to being able to do just that. He’s able to finally be himself with someone, to show them who and what he truly is deep down. Damian is finally able to let himself go, to drop his guard and breakdown his walls for someone and he’s not just going to allow for someone to take that away from him. Damian found his place, a sense of being accepted and loved, something that really feels like a home to him and he’s not going to let go of it.

ive been getting kinda annoyed with face family lately, how ppl always seem to make france and england this perfect lovey dovey doting parent duo, and i wanted to make Lore Accurate™ human au where ame and cana are so neglected they end up raising each other, alone and end up so painfully domestic there's some weird romantic feelings building
i understand the sentiment, i don't mind face family for the fun, but hetalia humor-ness is like. giving the feeling if they were a family they wouldn't be functioning lol. and they wouldn't! i've read a couple dysfunctional face fics that pleased me though, so i can't say i've been tired of it
if you don't mind me derailing, i've had specific human scenarios in my mind sometimes... with a kind-of face family in the backdrop. somehow i like when even cana and ame are finding it hard to get along under their roof. they have such diff approaches to personal conflict... but in the end im like sooo sweetened by them being on each others side. (in my mind this is where the kindof. idk. anti-conflict is. whatever i should call it. the idea of promising to be the opposite of. a divorced couple LOL. lets enter a loop together) fruk is like eternally divorced to me in my mind lol... either on-and-off or like so many conflict that they just should be. one in my mind had france leave pretty early on, and the house keep straining. eventually ame left on his own somehow anyhow(runaway or something?). then england and cana are the only people left in the house. maybe inspired by however hetalia nationverse goes lol its captivating to me. whatever they're destined to do and feel... i like when cana goes to find ame.
but going to your mentioning again of caname ending up dedicatedly alone... can't say i don't like that either (>_<) i like the isolation... like reaaally isolated i think. maybe not physically but i dont mind physically too! i'd love a kind of isolated domestic dread lol... fweh... comfort in unease(suddenly thinking about yuri ocs). i mentioned caname in like an isolated countryside setting before, and it still makes me feel fond. a kind of idle, mundane day-to-day. idyllic... in those cases i just tend to remove france and england from the equation entirely tho lol... put some random parent for them i dont care 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️ england and france could have a different use to me. (^_^) in the case where there is france and england... i've imagined it before. but there's usually extreme circumstances in my head that causes them to end up just two in the end... (sorry francis sorry arthur) maybe they could just run off somewhere forever. hitchhike... who knows... north america is so far...

'Krow doesn't really like it when it gets SUPER hot, but he fairs better with extreme than extreme cold. He gets a bit more energized with the heat while the cold saps it. If it's cold enough, he will conk out.
0000000 the brainwoms, idk if it's just me reading into things too much because l've taken care of and had an intrest in them before, but this just SCREAMS some sorta reptile or reptilian to me. I rlly hope someone else hasn't already guessed this ^^'
If that is right I am tempted to say Loch Ness monster but that just might be my soft spot for Nessie since my Nana is from glasgow and introduced me to the story lol! Thinking about it realistically the Loch Ness monster is known for being huge and having a tall neck and being able to swim so unless he's looking like the exact opposite in order to help disguise it more, that's probably very off (although I believe you said that he COULD swim just never got lessons (😭😭)) And Im pretty sure you mentioned that he’s very heavy for his height so that could explain where the mass comes from (hiding a much larger form in a smaller body) Though also you said Gabby was immediately set off by him and she’s more familiar with indigenous American folklore and since the Loch Ness monster is a Scottish folklore based off of kelpies (also a possibility something from the water capable of Shapeshifting into the form of something else though I know that those are also a common Scottish folklore and I’m not sure if they’re as prevalent in indigenous American stories ^^’ and also again the swimming thing-)
Sorry for my ramble I just read that ask and my brain immediately went into hyperdrive ^^’ also sorry if I got any information wrong I’m not a super huge theorist so this is just what’s from my brain of what I remember being mentioned on the blog ^^’
Inch resting lil brain worms you got there, very interesting. And a theory I haven't gotten!
I'll confirm that it's not correct, however, your heart is in the right place.
I believe there's a couple of asks around where the (mostly) correct answer was listed or guessed at.
Gabby has gotten more familiar with other supernatural critters over the years, but more so it's like... Native ones just stick in her brain as more "real" than others, cause it's what she grew up on. And with Krow, it's more so she thinks he's a creep (which, I mean, she's not wrong) than that he's actually some... secret spooky monster.
But there IS something up with Krow. I will confirm that much.

my personal bias when it comes to dess is that i think she’s shaping up to be too cool to just be a regular laura palmer Haunt The Narrative type LOL it feels like kind of a shame that she should only be relegated to flashbacks and otherwise be missing until the very end of the game… the classic cope for this (one i do like in theory) is Knightdess, but Knightdess is also riddled with issues when it comes to narrative and worldbuilding logic. if dess is in the light world making fountains, then why doesn’t she just go home?????? why is she throwing noelle into fountains instead of TALKING TO HER?????? and if the answer to this has to be “She’s Brainwashed” then sorry but im not going there LOL
angel/champion of the world dess however makes perfect sense of her “hero” or even “true hero” motifs, her protective nature, her implied metaphysical situation, maybe even straight-up christ motifs (what is dess but a “child” of the “creator” who was sacrificed for the sake of narrative, who might now be acting as this narrative’s “savior”?), and it fits naturally into the ways she both parallels gaster (similar fates and out-of-bounds perspective) and is the “opposite” of him (“ness” vs “giygas” or jrpg hero vs jrpg villain; “christmas” vs “halloween” or holiness vs sacrilege; christ and antichrist; we can even throw “woman” and “man” on there, not in a weird essentialist way but just as another dash of seasoning on the yin-yang heterogeneity soup). dess might be convinced that nothing will ever change, that she can’t have better, no one can have better; but as the world’s champion, dess is at least able to “watch over” noelle and feel like she’s still taking care of her. she doesn’t need to have been brainwashed. she doesn’t even need to love her stupid creator or be some kind of zealot. as long as she’s convinced herself that this is the best she can do for herself, for noelle and everyone else, then that might be enough for her. i think it’s a fascinating deconstruction of a “fridged” character: someone who was done extremely dirty by the narrative but cares enough for the people in it that she’ll protect that narrative if she thinks it’s for their sakes; someone whose sheer will to live drives her to make an active role for herself in the story, but whose experience of trauma has made her cynical in her approach; someone who will retroactively ensure her own disappearance because she thinks that’s the only thing she can do. at what point is her “heroism” just glorified self-harm?
