The reason I’ve always appreciated Tim (and why he's very different from his fanon version) is that when Jason asks him if he feels he’s a better Robin, Tim tells him yes. He repeats it even when he’s on the ground bruised and bloodied because Tim knows he is, he knows he deserves the costume and doesn't owe anyone anything anymore. (Don't mistake this for arrogance, Tim knows he deserves that "R" on his chest.)
