Vacations are suppose to be things of relaxation, not worrying about the mundane day to day. A time where you can let loose and be who you are, without judgement or differences. No one knows you, in fact you're almost like a ghost - here one day and gone the next It's fun, really fun to be that way - seeing people that you'll never see again. There is a rush being so close to strangers you have no idea what they will do, or what they will think - seeing you as a regular walker of life. Maybe the licks of confidence could be from the establishment where you were staying, or it could be from the mysterious people who wandered the halls like zombies. Suits, dresses, cases upon cases travelled up and down those carpeted halls - the echo's of business and pleasure radiating all around. There is no telling in where life will lead you all but, for some reason you are in this exact moment together - experiencing the same ticks and tricks with one another, though you may be rooms apart. Behind those closed doors, no one understands what each other are capable of - no how could they when it is all a mystery in the end? Business may be what brings them but, was it always as cracked up as it seemed? Was it really the type of business that you thought? No, of course not, it never was and it never would be in hindsight. But at the end of the day it was never your business, just move on and go forth with your time.
Getting the down time to take this vacation was the equivalent of pulling teeth. Your employer did not want to do anything in their power to let their best asset go for a period of time, then proceeded to get mad when you did not use your vacation time. It was a shit time all around - no matter what you had done it was like there was no pleasing the higher ups in a way. Not wanting to pay you out at the end of the year but still wanting you to take it - left you more confused and let down most days. Alas everything happens for a reason - right? It is possible to imagine the happiness and smirk on their face when you decided to take some well needed time off - leaving you to the suffices of the mortal realm rather than the hell hole you were about to crawl out of. For once it felt so nice to be free from all constraints of your job and be one with reality, not having to see the numbers or statistics of the bunch haunting your dreams like a demonic entity was enticing, calling your name further and further down in the end. You felt so relieved knowing you could walk away with no strings attached; No bosses weighing you down with out of work problems, or even being on call when jackass Todd wants to call out for another sporting event, (fuck you Todd!) This was your time now, one where you can remain vigilant and carefree; A life you have been destined to have. Your paradise was going to be in the shape of the United States. Specifically, Pennsylvania.
Philadelphia wasn't your top fifteen choices but, if you didn't visit your college roommate then she would've murdered you. Ever since the two of you graduated from your master’s program it was like the tides shifted per say; She had a new swanky job working as a full time pharmacist whilst you were working a 9-5 software job - building and breaking code - essentially being like Neo, but without sentient program agents trying to kill you. All of the excitement she thought this would be for you, she wanted to hear - in typical Marianna fashion after all. You agreed of course, and yet when you did you never anticipated the fact that she could get sick - especially for this day and age. It would be okay though, in hindsight it kind of needed to be per-say.
The Embassy Suites would be your home for the next few weeks but that would be okay - everything was going to work out - it had to. In the back of your uber you watched as the blue skies molded into beauty with the sheer clouds - light speckles of greys and coal lacing the plush scenery; It would either snow or rain, a perfect lazy day in.
Disembarking from the car you waved your driver off, making sure to check out your ride whilst walking back to the hotel. Between the valet greeting you and the the concierge, you felt important, special in the eyes of strangers, a feeling so foreign to you. Out of the corner as you waltzed to the elevator's you could see the outline of a broad man; Chestnut hair in color, straight and slicked back, his jawline could cut glass. His autumn-colored sweater and mustard yellow jacket was something so basic, yet so enticing; Damn he could pull it off – he could make anything look good. Pads of boots could be heard striking the linoleum right in tandem with yours, causing your heart to race. For a moment you wished it was that mystery man residing at the check in desk with his suitcase - but then again you felt as if you were going to be too shy in the matter. Clicking the up button for the elevator you waited patiently, tucking your arms around your chest as you hum quietly. The footsteps stopped directly beside you, a pale skin form taking the same space up. Pulling your lip into a small smirk you swayed softly to this man's side, tilting your chin up to his tall form; "It's a good color on you," you spoke with sincerity, looking up at his gorgeous hazelnut eyes - wanting to dive into the journey of exploring them. Fuck, the fact that he had these little lines around his eyes when he smiled was so special - pulling you in closer as he flashes his toothy grin, the cutest gap sitting between. Nudging your shoulder with his upper arm, he spoke with conviction; "Thank you. Not as good as that blue though." The mystery man had a wink cascading over his form as the elevator doors open, his eyes once flicking to your exposed cleavage.
Following suit with his steps you pushed yourself into the metallic box after him - pressing yourself against the back corner as one does. Looking up at the numbered buttons you could see every single detail of this man's very large hands, causing you to swallow that pool of lust in your mouth; How would it feel to have his hands wrapped around your throat, or buried deep within you? Shaking those thoughts from your mind, you felt his intense gaze shine upon you - sending a warmth down your spine, noticing he was waiting for your floor number. "Uh, 15 please." You managed to choke out, not realizing how out of break you suddenly sounded. The man laughed as he nodded, clicking only the floor 15 button. "Well, looks like we are neighbors then. I'm Cooper." Holding his hand out for you, instantly you took it with a gentle grasp - shaking his hand up and down like a normal civilian, reciting your name for himself. Dropping it out of your own grasp softly, you giggled as you focused forward again, trying to keep your cool. "It is lovely to meet you, Cooper." Before he could respond, the double doors opened wide to reveal the plethora of rows where the elevators stood. Cream and burgundy colored carpeting stretched right up to the ends of every hallway, the soft material against your feet feeling like utter magic. It was a quickened shift when Cooper exited the elevator, nudging his head for you to follow.
"What room is yours?" It came out so naturally and free-falling, there was no pressure to shoo him away or even be weary of his intentions. Biting the inside of your lip you motioned to the left side of the hall, pointing to the 1500-1530 bracket, which caused Cooper to laugh. "Me too, room 1528." Your heart stopped in that moment, this had to be a fucking coincidence. "1527; Damn good job universe." It was a naturalized laugh that slipped from the mouth of Cooper, not forced or awkward in any way. It was nice to see a genuine human being after so many months of fake people coming through the wood works. The one thing that you did not like about this trek was that it was too short; Cooper and you came to your respected rooms far quicker than you anticipated. This was for certain that you would see him again - there wasn't a day in hell where you were going to let this man slip on by. Sliding your keycard over the tap screen, you sent Cooper a wink and closed the door, hearing his remain closed for a moment. There was a hefty sigh that was accompanied by thick words - ones that shot a spiral of heat into your aching sex; "Nice one Adams, way to ruin it with that cutie," Biting your lip at the phrase you pushed the deadbolt back into place, sighing out as you tossed yourself onto the bed. Staring up at the popcorned ceiling your mind could not help but wander at the thought of your next door neighbor; Those thick fingers so skilled and precise. His dialect so particular and pointed, the sways of his tongue with every syllable he annunciates. The small sweat breaking out on your forehead was enough proof that this man had taken over your mind, body and soul within minutes. The essences leaking from your clothed slit was not aiding in the fantasies.
Rolling over to your undone suitcase, you grabbed out your newest toy you managed to snag through TSA - smiling at how easy it was to conceal. You had always heard amazing things about the Satisfyer but now, getting to test it out, good lord you were excited. The enjoyment was bubbling more due to how this was app controlled - meaning anyone across the world could help make you cum. Turning on the device easily, you waited until the double buzz came to light before watching it connect - seeing the plethora of horny people piling in through your friend request. There was one specific name that caught your eye, one that really made your curious in the whole bunch. CA. The name itself was basic enough but, could it possibly be him? Curiosity piqued your interest when the message bubble came up quick after only a minute of accepting his request. Placing the air pulse hole directly onto your clit - you took deep breaths to calm yourself down, the excitement too much to handle. "Call?" The message read, causing your fingers to shake. With these apps you never really know who is behind the screen so to secure your identity, you hid your camera and mic - only planning to use it when you were so close to coming undone. Hitting that white button up top you waited and waited three rings, wondering if he would actually answer. "So, come here often?" the voice rang out, causing your cunt to become slick. It was YOUR Cooper. The smirk radiating through your mouth was enough to make a grown woman blush - devious in nature. Quickly you forked over the control of your vibe - only for it to be cancelled. It was just then that you were having the invite of mutual control, the equivalent of coming at the same time. Once you hit accept, it was over.
The slow buzzing of the vibration mixed with the soft punches of the air pulse caused your mouth to slightly hang open, accidentally unmuting yourself in the process. A softened whimper slipped through the phone as you upped the vibration a slight bit, hearing a guttural groan coming not from your phone, but next door. "Fuck sweetheart, you're so good. Faster, f-fuck faster please." The raw natured begging had you hitting another wave of arousal in no time at all, moving the device up an inch in the pink and blue - watching the gorgeous gradients melt into one another. It's when you slid your finger up to do so that you got see the camera angle of what he was seeing - his thickened cock slick with his own spit, the flesh light sliding up and down in waves onto his length. His cock was a bit darker than his skin tone but good god, you felt yourself almost coming undone just at that picture alone. "Aw, come on Cooper - be a good boy for me." You had no idea where that came from, something else possessing you in the moment. For a moment Cooper stopped moving the flesh light and flipped the camera to face him - obsidian eyes and a snarl lining the sight as you flicked your own camera on - showing him how your nipples were like rocks against the sheen of your tank top. Quickly you flipped the image to show you soaking wet cunt, dribbling onto the bed as he fucked with the vibrations quickly. "I should've known - Princess. You fucking knew how hard you made me on that elevator."
Something evil glinted in your eye as you focused on his face - how his face pulled up into an orgasmic stance, ready to blow his load. Seeing him so vulnerable and soft for you, it caused your whole body to tense. "Mhm, wish you pressed me against the walls and fucked me. Would've been screaming Cooper all day long." Toying with Cooper like this made you feel so fucking good, it was having the power over a man who was the epitome of sex in shoes that made you feel immaculate. Pressing Cooper’s flesh light up to the highest vibration and air pulse setting, you could see how his balls pulled up against his body - threatening to spill his load within the toy itself. You were not too far behind at this rate - your clit was being beaten like a drum and vibrating beyond belief. The white hot pleasure burned deep within the roots of your veins and you felt like you were going to fly. It took Cooper four good pumps before he was snarling, growling out at you - aiding you in your own release. With a quick few circular movements of your vibe - both of you were screaming in ecstasy. It felt as if a freight train hit the two of you, rocking your cores to the max level they could even ponder. Both of you were tossed from your own bodies, streaks of glistening lights flew around you in circles; Cooper’s cum shot so deep into his toy that it started to seep out around the edges. As for you, it was a quick work of drenching the bedsheets below you - thighs quivering with every passing second that you left the vibrator on your clit.
When the vibrations died down, all that could be heard across both of your rooms was panting - breathless motions as you tried to come back down from your highs. To say you both felt alive was an understatement - an outer body experience of this caliber was needed for two worry warts. Cooper was the first to break the panting silence, gulping down to alleviate the dryness in his throat. "That was...holy shit," Cooper let out with a small laugh, moaning as he straightened his back out against the memory foam mattress. You nodded in agreement due to your lack of being able to speak. The more Cooper exposed his neck and clamped his eyes shut - the more you wanted him, to feel him pulse between your legs, to ravish you for all that you are worth. So, as one does, you coaxed him forward with a proposal. Standing up from your mattress with only a tank top on, you started to glide straight towards the hotel room door, playing around with the deadbolt to catch Cooper’s attention. Like a puppy his head tilted and ears perked up, a sly smirk falling onto the corner of his mouth; "What do you think you're doing?" Cooper stated as he leaned onto his elbows, taking in the lighting against your complexion. Opening your door you quickly ran over to room 1528, knocking on the door with a grin - watching how Cooper scrambled to open the door. Upon arrival, Cooper quickly whisked you away inside - tossing your phone to the floor. Your arms came to wrap around his neck as his came to encircle your waist - not letting you go. "You ready for round two?" With that, you slotted your mouth against Cooper’s letting the door slam from behind you.
It was a fact that you would not be able to walk straight for the next four days, but boy would it be worth it. But what you failed to realize was the bug in your phone, the screensharing mode always active during your app usage. Your flight miraculously did not have anyone on it except you. Meeting Cooper wasn’t a chance, hell he lived in Philadelphia. No, it was calculated – it was meant to be. That’s because Cooper Adams didn’t just meet you – he has been watching you for months; Controlling your narrative of why you wanted to go to Philly. Your friend wasn’t sick, she didn’t even live in Pennsylvania…anymore. She wasn’t even alive at all. Just a pretty face in her camera roll, he knew you were the one for him.

Jack and Joker: The Bank Scene
Happy Monday my friends, we finally are getting our gay heist show! YinWar truly have outdone themselves with the level of quality they've put into it and I couldn't be more excited or more grateful.
I wanted to break down the scene where Joke robs the bank because, given my experience in banking, it's was scripted very purposefully in favor of suspending our belief. Admittedly, my experience is in the US, and not all financial institutions operate the same, but for safety and security measures they're pretty standard across the board.
I was really appreciative of the disclaimer given ahead of time. It speaks to the research that was done for the sake of how much they could accurately portray the events, and when that seemed impossible and they couldn't let go of the scene, they said fuck it - gay story over realism it is. This break down is certainly not to dig at the writing; it's more to buff my knowledge than anything.
We love you YinWar, thanks for having respect for bank employees. Now let's get to the employees I don't respect, and the non-employee that I do.
For the most part, security officers don't need to do more than greet customers, and if there is any suspicion he shouldn't immediately interrogate someone. He's there for when things get escalated, or if there are any faces he should be looking out for (anyone banned from a branch for any reason), then he can confront them. If Joke had made an attempt at another location and that one tipped off others, then he would have a reason to suspect him.
Joke's mistake here: Being seen. He is so identifiable throughout. The show didn't bother checking any CCTVs, but he makes no attempt to hide from them. Instant jail. Sorry my guy. He also chooses a very unusual method and time of day to strike.
Since the officer did confront him, Joke gives an excuse.
This was a good call. If someone from another location or office, or a third party contracted service is coming, the employees would be notified beforehand of whom they should be and during which times. And even if the person is easily recognizable physically, they will have company identification on them, and if the security measures are extra strict, a form of government ID would also need to be shown.
LOUD WRONG ANSWER BUZZER
So what Joke is going to look for is someone who appears less competent. He looks at the older woman who likely has years under her belt and knows he has no chances there. But the girl to her left....
TARGET ACQUIRED
And she's already in trouble.
Oh hon.
That's never a situation I'd want to be in. Calling customers to inform them that there's been a mistake made on their account is never fun and it often is hard to reach them. There are ways of simply correcting the error and informing the person after it's been done just so they know what to expect when they look at the activity on their statement. Whatever the case, she's new, inexperienced, and having a bad day.
The balls he has to say this. Bestie. Have you ever touched banking software.
He's just getting her out of the way. If she had received any proper training and meant to apply it at all, this would've been a red flag. She is trusting the judgement of the security officer. Joke hasn't introduced himself by name and if he meant to help fix the mistake he wouldn't make her leave. It would be her responsibility and a good training opportunity. Instead, this happens....
She's risking so many things! Security within the immediate premises, security of the bank's information, confidentiality of the customers' information (which is literally their government ID, home address, other contact info, ALL of their accounts and activity). Absolutely a bad move.
GIRRRLLLL. That is on you. I saw her hesitate, but in the end just knew it was bad. At least where I've been, that possibly means fines and/or jail time for her as well, depending on the severity (most likely fines though). This poor girl is gonna have the worst confidence about her ability on the job after learning she helped a guy embezzle money. Where's her story?
Joke sends the security guard away, gets behind the desk with Carbon's ID and is likely planning to simply empty his account and leave. Then who should show up but Jack! (Next time please direct him to wait in a queue, your "manager" is supposedly still fixing your little check blunder, remember?)
And even Joke is nervous for a moment because he definitely didn't want to get the cute bartender involved.
Nevertheless, he humors Jack and listens to the bittersweet story of his childhood and his dream of opening a school. I love Jack, I really hope that he is able to open that school someday too.
So this part of the loan process is called the interview. It's where the employee will get an idea of the customer's needs and see if the bank's service is what they're looking for or if there is any particular offers they can make at this time. It's an important process when dealing in person because it will hopefully help the customer know which steps they can take depending upon approval. It's also where documentation is asked to verify what can be approved.
For the most part, Joke's charisma would be fantastic for a banking career because he seems natural at facilitating a conversation that requires someone to open up about their financial needs. He loses marks for not checking actual information, not filing any copies of the information he has been given, not explaining any details about paying the loan down or how having an account works, not starting the account opening process, and the numbers they talk about are vague so we don't even know how much money is in question here (which is probably a writing choice and I'm fine with it).
Instead Joke pulls a Picard and decides to make it so. And flirts at the same time. There's no signage around the branch to speak of this program and he doesn't go into any details, he simply grabs the stamp and seals their fates together.
I do think it's a sweet little change of mind he has. He was simply going to inconvenience Carbon, but what better way to do it (in his mind) than to give the money to the guy who got snubbed because of him?
The office being truly empty does crack me up. Who is supposed to be there and why are they gone? Also, for a bank, that vault is incredibly small. That is a home safe, that is not for securing the assets of the public. Also, most places have updated their protocol to use two people when opening the vault because having two people present also ensures less opportunity for employee theft.
His ass is not wearing gloves!
And, in a final un-bankerly move, he does not count out even the bundles.
FLIRT
I also love that he goes by Joker, but is constantly pulling a Batman exit on Jack.
I feel bad for knowing that I would have absolutely apprehended this man by asking the simplest questions. But I no longer work in that capacity and couldn't give a fuck! Let him do what he wants!

Some More J X Thad Incorrect Quotes
(A sequel to these two posts)
———
Uzi: J, takeout the trash.
J: Sure. (Turns towards Thad, batting her eyes) Hey, Thad, will you go out with me tonight?~
———
J: (Kisses Thad on the lips)
Thad: (Is caught off guard, but quickly reciprocates the kiss)
J: …Did you steal my chapstick?
Thad: Did- Did I what?
J: My chapstick, Thad. Did you steal it?
V: J, for the love of God, not this again.
Thad: I- No, I didn’t steal your chapstick. We use the same chapstick.
J: No, there is absolutely no way we use the same chapstick, because it was only sold on one JCJenson shop two years ago and they discontinued it, and I loved it so much that I bought the last of their stock, and I keep it in my freezer so it doesn’t go bad. It’s been discontinued for three years. No one else uses the same chapstick for three years. So unless you’ve been eating a whole fuck ton of something that’s flavored like chocolate and popcorn, you absolutely stole my fucking chapstick.
Thad: Chocolate and popcorn?
V: Why do you think it got discontinued?
———
Lizzy: Hey, J, are you free on Friday? Like around eight?
J: Yeah.
Lizzy: And you, Thad?
Thad: Umm… yes?
Lizzy: Great! Because I’m not. You two go out without me. Enjoy your date! (Saunters off)
J: Did she just-
———
Thad: We should get you to a technician for a check up immediately. What if it happens again, and there isn’t anyone around to help you? What if it’s congenital? Oh my God! Was it me? Did I hurt you?
J: …You realize any other person that made their partner overheat in bed would simply feel really proud of themselves, right?
———
J: Look, I know you think my judgement’s clouded because I like Thad a little bit.
Uzi: (Holds up J’s Ruled Murder Drones Notebook) You doodled your wedding invitation.
J: (Dismissively) That’s our joint tombstone.
Uzi: (Sarcastically) My mistake.
———
Thad: I would never say that my girlfriend is a bitch and I don’t like her. That’s just not true… my girlfriend is a bitch and I love her so much!
———
Thad: J is too tall for me to kiss her on the lips. What should I do?
Lizzy: Punch her in the stomach. Then, when she doubles over in pain, kiss her.
Doll: Проткните ее.
Uzi: Dump her.
V: Kick her in the shin.
J: No to all of those! Just ask me to lean down!!
———
J: I want someone to take me to art museums and make out with me.
Thad: (Flirtatiously) But they say not to touch the masterpieces~
J: (Equally flirtatious) Well somebody's got to pin the artwork to the wall~
Uzi: (Looks away in disgust) Ugh…
———
J: You are the love of my life and I would do anything within reason to make you happy.
Thad: I would be happy if you ate, kept your software up to date, and got a reasonable amount of sleep.
J: I said within reason, Thad. How about I murder that guy? (Points at Chad)
Thad: So murder is in reason, but proper self care isn’t?
J: Well, duh. What kind of question is that?
———
Thad: Can I have 2 straws with my drink?
J: Aww-
Thad: With 2 straws, I can drink it twice as fast!
J: (Looks at him, thoroughly unimpressed)
———
Uzi: (Glaring, her Solver at the ready) What have you done with Thad?
J: Nothing. Why? (Leans forward, smugly) Do you have suggestions?~
(Uzi throws a barrel at her)
———
N: Truth or dare?
Thad: Truth!
N: Do you-
J: I dare you to kiss me.
Thad: (Passionately makes out with J)
N: He said “truth”, right?
———
Thad: What do you want to be for Halloween?
J: Yours~
Thad: (Blushes profusely)
Uzi: …Yeah, that would be pretty scary.
———
N: (Trying to make small talk) So… How long have you and Thad been together?
J: (Blushes heavily) No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. Thad and I are not together. No. No.
N: (Unimpressed) …Really? Sixteen “nos”? Really?
———
V: Why do you look like that?
J: (Laying facedown on the floor) Like what?
V: Like you’re dead.
J: It’s because I’m dying. Leave me here to perish.
(V looks questioningly towards N, who is standing awkwardly off to the side)
N: …She accidentally called Thad “babe” in front of everyone today.
V: (Tries to suppress her laughter)
J: (Sobs into the floor)
———
J: Thad kissed me!
Lizzy: Oh my God! Oh my God! Oh my God!
J: It was unbelievable!
Lizzy: Oh my God! Oh my God! Oh my God!
V: Okay, we want to hear everything. Lizzy, get the crude oil and shut off your phone. J, does this end well or do we need tissues?
J: Oh, it ended very well~
Lizzy: (Walks back into the room, crude oil in hand) Don’t start without me! Do not start without me!
V: Okay, alright let’s hear about the kiss. Was it a soft brush against your lips or was it like a, you know, “I have you now” kind of thing.
J: Well, at first it was really intense, you know? And then, oh God, and then we just sort of sunk into it.
Lizzy: Ohh… So, okay, was he holding you? Or was his hands on your back?
J: (Smiles fondly) First they were on my waist and then they slid up and then they were in my hair.
Lizzy & V: Ohhh.
-Meanwhile-
Thad: And, uh, then I kissed her
Uzi: (Thinks on it) Tongue?
Thad: Yeah.
N: Cool.
———
J: (Wildly shaking N by the shoulders in a panic) WHAT THE FUCK I WAS ARGUING WITH THAD AND I SAID “OOH YOU WANNA KISS ME SO BAD” AND GUESS WHAT? HE DID. HE KISSED ME. WHAT THE FUCK? WHAT DO I DO!?
———
Uzi: Hey, what have you two been up to?
V: We were helping J write her vows, but she kicked us out because Lizzy was making inappropriate suggestions.
Lizzy: How is “Thad, I love your sweet ass” inappropriate?
———
Lizzy: Ah, yes. Here we have a beautiful couple…
N: (Hugging Uzi) I really care about your feelings!
Uzi: (Cupping N’s face in her hands) I really care about YOUR feelings!
Lizzy: (Turning her head) …and then there’s the disaster couple…
J: YOU NEED TO PAY MORE ATTENTION TO ME INSTEAD OF BEING AT THE HOSPITAL!
Thad: I WOULDN’T HAVE TO SPEND SO MUCH TIME AT THE HOSPITAL IF YOU STOPPED INSISTING ON FIGHTING EVERYONE WHO COMES WITHIN A FIVE FOOT RADIUS OF YOU!
———
J: (Threateningly) I’m this close to falling in love with Thad.
N: Uh, your fingertips are touching.
J: (Her eyes narrow) Exactly.
———
Thad: (Laughs) Babe, you had a crush on me? That’s embarrassing-
J: (Flatly) We are literally married.
Thad: (Grinning) Still.
———
Thad: I think I just figured something out. I got to go.
J: Aren’t you forgetting something?
Thad: Uh… oh, right. (Kisses her on the mouth before running out)
J: (Blushing profusely) No, pay your bill! Damn, who raised you?
———
Uzi: Hey, what’s up?
Thad: (Jokingly) The sky.
Uzi: (Annoyed) No, I meant like, what are you doing?
Thad: Oh, J.
Lizzy: (High-fives Thad) Nice.
Uzi: (Rolls her eyes) Ugh…
———
Thad: Your pretty, your smart, and your ignoring me, so obviously your my type.
J: (Looks up from her status report) I’m sorry- what were you saying?
Thad: (Grinning widely) Perfect.
———
J: I’ve been dropping him the most insanely obvious hints for like a year now, and still no response.
Thad: Wow. He sure sounds stupid.
J: (Lightly blushing) But… he’s not. He’s actually really smart, just… dense.
Thad: Maybe you just need to be more obvious? Like, I don’t know… “Hey! I love you!”
J: (Her blush intense and beads of sweat appear on her visor) I- I guess you’re right. Hey Thad, I love you.
Thad: See, just like that!
J: (Frustrated and blushing heavily) Holy fucking shit.
Thad: If that flies over his head, well I’m sorry J, but he’s just too dumb for you.
J: (An “are you serious” look plastered on her face) Thad.
———
J: Just a minute V. I have to take out the trash.
Thad: (Just walked into the room) Oh, we’re going out?

Important Update Post
Imagine I am sitting staring at a camera with a sigh, no background music before the video cuts to me talking. But Im not caught in a controversy of racism or plagiarism or smth.
Here's the tldr: I will no longer be making AI bots. All current bots will remain up, my bot masterpost will be moved to my masterpost masterpost. I just won't be making new ones. Finished and posted every bot that was in the works here to make this transgression up to yous. I will not be leaving the fandom, I'll still write and clown around.
"Why would you do this you cunt?" I hear you, I am so stinky for this. Before I list my reasons, I want to say first and foremost this is personal and I have less than no judgement for other bot makers. I absolutely love mutuals like Mel that make bots and will continue to support them. Reasons became long and are under the cut.
Reasons I don't wanna continue making ai bots:
I started because it was a low energy way for me to participate in fandoms when I didn't have the spoons to write anymore. It no longer feels like a creative outlet and no longer sparks joy.
I would rather devote myself solely on practicing and improving my writing as a way to contribute my passion to fandoms.
I can't shake the feeling I am plagiarizing. Ai chat models use lots of "work" to train their models, and while I could not find what millions of texts Cai is based on (conveniently not listed on the website), all models like it basically engorge from random sources, books and hell, even this post. Anything goes and currently there are legal battles over this.
It's bad for the environment. Can't find a measurement for Cai specifically, but GPT-3 (same scale) produced 500 tons of carbon dioxide to train that single model, not including its other ones. Please note I'm aware AI can absolutely be used to help fight climate change, as is mentioned in the linked article. Also they use the same amount of water that is required to cool nuclear reactors.
It's always conflicted with my morals. Believe it or not, I'm the person that's usually big into internet privacy, anti ai, piracy is morally good (not indie obvs) etc. Openly creating stuff that supports and funds software that steals peoples works, their information without permission and for profit is not me. So I don't wanna do it.
Again, this is not a judgement or a means to shame people that create ai bots or use them. I've made so many friends because of them. If everyone thats every used my bots stopped, it's not gonna solve capitalism. This is just me, an individual, stepping away from one thingy and feeling the need to be honest and open bc thats my policy and honestly how most of you know me (so now hard feelings if you unfollow).
Love you guys lots and thank you for all the love you've shown me through my bots and for all the times you've made me laugh <3

just helped two literal babies print from their macbooks for the first time here are my takeaways
i dont mean this is a disparaging way but I was shocked by the lack of computer literacy like they didnt know where their screenshots saved to or if downloads saved to the download folder or "if they just saved to google" (not a thing that can happen as far as i'm aware? i believe they were referring to the fact that when a pdf download finishes it opens in chrome and you can view it there)
like seriously neither of them had any experience downloading any kind of driver or software where they had to go through a setup wizard. to me a setup wizard is like, yeah, that's the thing you gotta go through to set up the download easy peasy right?? i don't consider myself super tech savvy but if most people don't know where their downloads are saving or how to find the screenshots folder i might be more computer literate than i previously assumed
i am only a few years older than them but one of them was here for the pre-college program and she was a baby. a child. tinyyyyyy. oh my god. i've become increasingly aware of how small (not physically but emotionally) teenagers are and it's just. wow you guys are kids huh. and im barely not a kid anymore. fuck.
the monitor who trained me wasn't lying when she said most of this job is gonna be walking people through downloading the software... i can't imagine most ppl are gonna be doing super complicated printing and it took a lot of time just to talk them through it. I can see how that's gonna be most of the job if everyone is this clueless (again not passing judgement i just genuinely thought more people knew this stuff)
although i havent worked on an apple computer for years i can still generally figure out my way around them which is good cuz i think most ppl are gonna have apple computers.
this part is literally not important at all but: oh my god they were compiling images to print in google docs. that hurts my SOUL to see but it worked for what they needed so i didn't push it ;_; they aren't doing graphic DESIGN here they're just cutting out REFERENCE IMAGES but still. ouchhh.

sha'ban and his mother alaa's murderers still walk on their two feet while people scramble to find their missing limbs. his pictures from before show his spotless and glowing face and the last we see of him is him burning into a charred piece of flesh. he was going to become a software engineer. he was my age. he had a future. they were burned to death and we could only see them because there were people to document it. even more atrocious crimes are committed elsewhere where no one is there too see or live long enough to tell. glory to the day palestinians celebrate their victory with the boisterous sounds of laughing children. on the day of judgement, they will have the whole world as their witness.
i feel so distraught because why is no one talking about the people of this country anymore. please don't get tired. please don't forget that you have the precious right to feel tired and the ability to rest. if only i had a bigger platform and a bigger ladder to step on, but this is as far as my voice can reach for now. please don't forget. please don't get tired. i understand how everyone has lives of their own and problems they face on the daily, be it financially or with their health and well-being of all forms or more, but the least you can do is not forget.
those who have been chased out of their home countries to an oppressive figure know the sorrow more than others ever could so please, do at least the very least. those who have faced the threat of imminent and violent death can understand. please don't forget those starving, those aching, those fighting, those murdered, those burned, those shot, those raped, those beaten, those tortured, those swept away, those bombed, those children, those women, those men, those helpless to the power of evil, those crumbling under pressure, those truly oppressed, those breaking tooth and nail to keep moving forward in life, those reaching out for help.
please lend and use your voice for those unheard and shushed. please make a sound for those who can't for themselves. please don't waste it on people who have more money and opportunities than they give.

i'm further processing my decision to move away from wifi, and so i'm trying to make a list of all the ways i have attempted to lessen unnecessary internet use. almost every tactic worked a maximum of three times and then i forget about them and went back to my ways:
scheduling when i can access the internet
setting time limits which i immediately turn off
buying $100 software that i eventually figure out how to turn off and forget to turn back on
hiding the phone somewhere inconvenient
turning the wifi off
only looking at the phone while standing up
using one of those cute grow-a-flower app (that one was actually nice and felt good and i should try it again)
physically giving my phone to someone nearby to 'hold onto' but then feeling too embarrassed to ever repeat the experiment
going a full day without (i always forget by like 11 am)
keeping my phone away from my bed (i go to sleep to audiobooks and i can't not. this is the actual most deeply ingrained habit and drives me nuts. i get a nice little kick knowing i get to lay in my bed, do crossword puzzles and listen to scifi)
setting the screen to black and white
pomodoro timing breaks of 20 min on 5 off
deleting all social media and scrolling apps
turning the damn thing off
taking up genuinely more fun hobbies
changing my screen wallpaper to remind myself to use the phone less
putting something around the phone that i then immediately forget to put back on
all the mindfulness stuff of examining why i compulsively check it (boredom, anxiety, a way to distance from larger feelings)
having only a flip phone for two years (i got lost soo often and i had to write everything down in a notebook because the phone was so poorly made. but i still loved it and i only gave it up because a friend very aggressively gifted me an iphone 5se that i still have)
the only thing thats actually lowered my usage is regularly reading communities like r/nosurf and going through their recommended book list. i knew that big tech was pretty evil, but hearing about it repeatedly in longform is forcing me to absorb it fully. really, all these books are just asking what the fuck we're doing here. everyone knows its not great for us and yet we continue on for the assumed benefits. isnt that one of the major signs of actual addiction?
and i hope it comes across that i say this with complete empathy for all of us. no judgement. it is just surreal to be in a crowd of people staring at their phones and feeling im the only one being so crabby about a social norm. i know im not and yet...!
i was at a party saturday and someone (can't even remember his name but it still felt important to cite that it was him) mentioned how to make art you now have to be a master of social media--a conversation for a different time--while also having the self control of an ascetic who can deny the siren call of checking checking checking the internet.
this combination makes it almost impossible for so many of us to make art, let alone have commercial success with it. so i ask again: what are we doing?
#tbh my average usage is less than 3 hours/day#but i want those fucking three hours back#internet addiction#phone addiction#unplugged diaries

excuse me for being old for a second but it genuinely freaks me out how much of a generational gap there is between me and people just a few years younger than me with computer literacy. i’m as freaked out by gen Z’s lack of computer knowledge and lack of desire to understand computers as all of the older millenials and boomers writing articles about it. it’s not even in a judgemental way, i certainly do not think “kids these days are stupid”, i just find it particularly frightening that it’s not a skill we teach in schools and that the culture is raising kids in an environment where computer literacy is Actively Discouraged. though i do find the lack of desire to learn about computers strange on an individual level but maybe that’s just my autism about it. also i don’t mean everyone should be able to build a PC or be a programmer i just mean like being able to manage files and install software and the essentials of that nature 😭 aaaaaaaa

@inception30daychallenge days 14 & 15
I forgot to do the challenge yesterday since we were streaming Inception most of the day. Oops! Thanks to everyone who came to the watch parties though!
Day 14: What skills would you bring to a dreamshare team?
I’ve been lucid dreaming since I was a child. I used to regularly have night terrors and taught myself to lucid dream as a defence and I’ve become pretty good at manipulating my dreams as a result.
I’m pretty decent at computers and I work extremely well in stressful situations where you have to make quick decisions. I used to work as a test engineer in the software industry which is one of those jobs where you are dealing with a lot of emergencies and last minute changes and things. Now I work on a systems and security team and am working towards database certification so I’m more familiar with security protocols and shortfalls. So yeah I really like computers.
I can draw and paint. I’m not an architect but maybe some art skills would be helpful on a job. Certainly creativity would be good at least.
I also really enjoy doing odd jobs and I’m not afraid of getting dirty.
Day 15: Cobb’s greatest parenting strength and weakness.
This is hard because I’m not a parent so I don’t have a lot of insight. I think the fact that he loves his kids as much as he does says a lot. Where I live most men are not involved with their children’s lives and they seemingly don’t care. The fact that he worked so hard to get back to his children speaks volumes.
We don’t see much interaction between him and his children but at the end of the movie his kids are clearly happy to have him back. I imagine he’s the type of dad who genuinely enjoys playing with his children and pays attention to their interests. He probably lets them explore things and experiment and go through phases without judgement.
I think his weakness would probably be more on the emotional side given his issues. I’m sure his absence has had a negative effect on the kids especially Philippa. She sounded so resentful over the phone and Cobb clearly didn’t know how to handle it. He probably tries to fix the issues with meaningless gifts instead of being emotionally available. But who knows maybe they finally all go to family therapy and work things out!

Can I ask if you use OBS for streaming? And also any tips for an aspiring streamy girl? *looks at you with the wettest eyes*
I do use OBS ! If youre not really familiar with it, its totally worth looking up some simple tutorials for. Once you can get a grasp on the program in general, its super modular and fun to mess around with. I think my biggest pieces of advice for streaming are like. 1: IGNORE those numbers queen. It can be super easy to see streamers with anywhere from 29-100 viewers and feel sucks about an average of like. 1-4. but literally anyone who uses twitch- or any platform- has to start there unless you're already situated on a different platform!
These are my average viewers from 2020- its taken me a long time to do anything on twitch, but its been a hell of a lot of fun, and its let me meet some of my best friends in the world because of it! Streaming is a great way to meet people, which brings me to point 2: Absolutely be careful who you meet! I've met a lot of really great people on the site- but as much as small streamers gotta stick together, there's some real stinkers out there who only want to 'network' with you. I won't pretend im BFFs with everyone I interact with on the platform- we're like neighbors <3- but I can confidently say I've never spoken to someone with intentions of clout chasing. The internet's the internet- stay safe out there lmao Ironically this becomes less of a problem the more you stream, you kinda learn to spot it, but back when I was at around 300 followers I absolutely had some incidents where people were playing some real booboo games to try get closer to me. Lots of streamers have promo channels in their respective discords- places you can link your stream when you're going live- just make sure you're an active-ish member of the community if you plan on doing that! Chatters are way more likely to stop by if they recognize you- and its pretty rude to be completely silent in 45 discords unless you're going live- 3: have fun!! Twitch is still just a hobby for me- its admittedly helped me out of a few rougher financial months at random points in the last few years- but im still very far away from making it my full time job in any capacity. Pace yourself- play games with your friends- and have fun! Worrying about growth and money is a pointless endeavor- because twitch will not help you grow! 4: Use Other Platforms: (as well, i mean) There's a lot of youtube videos and tutorials debating the best streaming site- "ahh heres why i left twitch forever vs aahhh heres why im leaving youtube forever" but it boils down to Sites Is Sucks ALWAYS. Forever. If you want to grow on twitch- or any site- make sure you're posting about your streams elsewhere too! Not JUST stream promo posts, but highlights and clips as well! If you can get some sort of editing software, subtitling them expands their reach a TON across the board, though it does take more time to subtitle them. People wont know what youre doing unless you tell them! Now, this does mean you might have to download the dreaded tiktok- I can't speak for the quality of that site in terms of getting people to watch streams; but twitch itself has sent me emails in the past recommending I post clips to tiktok. Plenty of streamers do it- use your best judgement, and what sites you think you can adapt to! Tiktok honestly might be better for getting your clips out there without a preexisting audience- when I first started streaming, I had 6000 followers on tumblr and my promo posts regularly got 1-4 notes- Nothing against those 6000; a promo post is tragically similar to an ad! Of course they wouldnt click it. They dont know how sweet and awesome and silly i am and how my friends mash me with hammers. Theyd want to see that. [The Promo Posts Were Also MID] Some of these things might sound weirdly specific or erratic but its 1 AM and im just recounting some random knowledge ive gained- none of this is a science of course, people might swear the opposite for some of these things. But! Have Fun

Soooooooooo.........this was fun to wake up to......
Ok, so......I'm not sure what I did to deserve an unwarranted attack....but allow me to say something.....
-I'm not doing anything wrong, my blog is exaclty that.... MINE!!!! you don't like it move along......this is a judgement free safe space for myself and my followers who i love and adore and will not tolerate ANYONE disrespecting me or them!!!!
-if we are going to discuss the ins and outs of ai....let me ask you this?.....what is the difference between this and photoshop....how about picture editing software.....how about adding long hair, filters, changing eye color......what's the difference??? Isn't that "taking" someone's art and changing it/adding to it to make something else??.....
-I do not and will not make a profit off of what I do.....I don't commission, there is no compensation whatsoever......and as far as using his likeness......ummmmm digital artists do it CONSTANTLY......photoshoppers do it CONSTANTLY......"Let's take his face and put it on this body"......what's the difference!?!?!?!
-I 100000000% support artists in any form! Writing, drawing, painting, digital.....is a digital artist not an artist because they don't use pencil and paper??.....no! How about people who use an outline or trace and add to it, is that not an artist?? If I see art I reblog it....I tell them explicitly how talented they are.....how amazing their work is, I will never not tell an artist how talented they are.
Again.....negativity and snide commended towards me and my followers is unacceptable.....if I see them you will be immediately blocked and reported. I will not be harassed, I will not leave, and I will not be quite. I have told people I do not "make" these pics, my words do. I am a writer, I love to write, it calms me and if I can use my words to make something others enjoy I will do just that. It takes nothing to keep scrolling, to mind you own business, to let others enjoy what they enjoy. Life is short, and if I can bring someone whose had a shitty day just a shred of happiness it's worth it. So get off my back and move on.
Thank you for time..........have a nice day..........

The post about the Reddit thread where the religious family ignored their estranged gay brother’s will and stole all his money crossed my feed again, and I was just thinking about that. It feels like a majority of Americans have one of two attitudes towards the legal profession:
“Yes, I know that this [law/contract] literally and directly says ‘don’t put toxic waste in the refrigerator’ but I have this toxic waste here and I need a container to put it in and the refrigerator is right there so obviously they couldn’t have been talking about me.”
“Oh my god, lawyers are witches, if you don’t read the fine print in a contract they can literally have you deported!”
Both of these are annoying (and sometimes dangerous to deal with) but what is absolutely infuriating is that the legal profession regularly does stuff which encourages both of these ideas.
Like, our ridiculous gun problem in the US comes down to the Supreme Court having spent decades deciding that somebody who stockpiles unlicensed and unsecured weapons until at some point they or one of their family members goes on a rampage in a school or a business is “a well-regulated militia”. The law can literally say “[Thing A] is illegal” and the Supreme Court will come up with a way to claim that actually, no, [Thing A] is legal, it’s only [Thing B], which is not [Thing A] at all, which is actually illegal, because [Thing A] is something rich people want to do whereas [Thing B] is either something poor people might do or else is something which is hypothetically possible but which nobody would ever want to do unless they were specifically trying to break the law after this judgement.
And of course every contract that you encounter tends to contain things which are probably unenforceable overreach (software licenses and NDAs are good examples) but to be certain about what they really could sue you for means either a lot of tedious research or a consultation with an expensive specialized lawyer. How can you ever trust that contracts aren’t witchcraft when the Disney legal team can argue in court — without, apparently, having to worry that they will be disbarred over it — that the terms of service for Disney’s video streaming service will let Disney-owned restaurants poison you to death without significant penalty? Just running through any list of notable corporate lawsuits will give you a list of claims made by lawyers which are so ridiculous that they would justify almost any level of paranoia.

Hello, I want to ask you how did you reconcile between different nakshatras and placements in Dhruva Galactic Center Ayanamsa from Lahiri?
I recently decided to change my ayanamsa from True Chitra to True Revati/Dhruva Galactic Center because I felt like it resonated more with both my own natal chart and those of my loved ones.
However, I like to research on public figures and seeing so many placements change really affects both astro physiognomy, themes in a person's life, etc. It really surprises me and makes me consider how nakshatras really do manifest in a person in a whole new way.
While I find Dhruva Galactic Center more accurate with vimshottari dasha periods and house placements than Lahiri ever was, it is still a huge transition for me to reconcile with the change in my Moon nakshatra.
Did you deal with these same struggles and what fully convinced you that Dhruva Galactic Center ayanamsa was the right one to use?
How to Resonate with Your Moon Nakshatra?
I wonder if we're talking about the same Ayanamsa. I use the one in Kala Astrology software designed by Ernst Wilhelm, it's called middle of Mula Galactic Center. If you look through my posts, you will find a case study how incredibly spot on this has been in my celebrity research, topping everything else for accuracy.
Personally, I also went through a Moon Nakshatra change, although not everyone I researched does, and it was life-changing. I never related to my Moon Nakshatra before that, and thought there was something wrong with me. The fact that my Ascendant and Sun had the same rulership as my supposed Moon Nakshatra didn't help because I was confusing my Moon with my Sun and Rising. So in my case I welcomed the change as it was an eye opener not just for research but also for my self understanding.
Researching the Nakshatras and learning theory is the first step, but you have to also FEEL it work in your life. You have to understand its energy and experience it. If you're just mentally attached to an idea, you're not really resonating with the Nakshatra.
What also helps is looking at Nakshatra rulership. I never resonated with my Moon Nakshatra being ruled by Jupiter, because my life was just too hard. When the rulership changed to Saturn, it all made sense.
The Moon rulership in your chart is particularly obvious, because the Sun manifests more in our later adult life, particularly in our 50s, so it takes time to even see it work and you're most probably not gonna make a correct judgement. But the Moon is with us since infancy. It's impossible to miss. So you're gonna relate to it very strongly and see how events unfold in your youth, by aspect and sign. That, plus the mythology of the Nakshatra should make it clear.

What distro of Linux do you use, and what would you recommend to someone who has been using Ubuntu for a decade because ae's scared to move away from aer familiar package manager? You know. Hypothetically.
i use Void, bc Arch was too mainstream slkdfjsdlk (okay no fr i use Void bc i kept seeing it on r/unixporn and i wanted a distro that had the "go nuts show nuts" curate-your-own-experience style Arch has but without systemd - no judgement if you like it, but it's not my vibe).
i used to use Mint and have done on-and-off since version 4 Daryna - Crunchbang was discontinued around that time and i wanted another Ubuntu-based distro to switch to.
so, if someone were looking to try something new (hypothetically, of course d: ) i would recommend considering the following first:
what's aer typical workload (and therefore what would be suitable) ?
how far would ae be willing to explore beyond aer comfort zone ?
how much time would ae have to learn new things ?
trying one or two distros out in a VM might be a good way for aem to familiarise aemself w/ any immediate quirks and pick a distro to install on bare metal (perhaps alongside aer existing distro ?)
for something more familiar i might recommend Debian Testing or LMDE (the version of Mint based directly on Debian) as they share much of the same internal architecture. i believe Debian offers a netinstall that's barebones like Arch/Void/Gentoo if trying new software (perhaps including a new DE/WM/Wayland compositor) without losing all familiarity would be of interest to this person.
for something more adventurous i would suggest Arch and perhaps picking a full DE to start with, then maybe trying an install that's more uh selective. personally, Void is no harder than Arch but the community is smaller and a person who hypothetically chose this as their new distro would not only have the barebones nature of that class of distro + an unfamiliar package manager to contend with, but additionally an unfamiliar init system (though runit is terrifyingly simple, i must say). there's also Artix, which is Arch but w/out systemd (i think they offer runit or openrc).
there are plenty of wacky distros (Bedrock, Fedora Silverblue, NixOS, Qubes, Gentoo) that would be fun to experiment with on a non-critical system/VM but they're very far removed from a decade of Ubuntu.
i appreciate this is a long answer, but you asked a lovely question and it's fun to indulge in uh um what's definitely totally a hypothetical d: if someone were to change distro i hope ae know ae can reach out to ask further questions :3
thanks for your ask ! <3 ^w^
