part of why i even got into ISAT (~3 months ago now) is bc i was looking for the perfect birthday gift for my sibling (who is also into a lot of narrative rpgs like myself) and upon opening steam to go through their wishlist ISAT was recommended to me immediately for myself

i went through with watching the game in hopes it'd be a profound emotional title esp during a depressive episode where i was having trouble feeling much passion for anything and. man. it did not disappoint in the slightest

I think we as a society should bring back brotps. I think we should be weirder about characters being friends the same way people are weird about ships. Make those two characters who interacted once or twice besties. Make it difficult for them to get rid of each other even if they want to. Go nuts

funny thing about aus in which another one of the party joins the loops with siffrin is that, while the others are 10x more likely to mention the loops, i cant imagine any of them would go to siffrin first.

ISAT anon here, assuming the big relevation about the king’s motives is the one in chapter 3’s ending and not some further relevation in act 4 I haven’t reached yet, revived deca having similar motives is so. Ough!!!! How have I not thought of it yet?? That is so diabolically evil I need to write it at some point. One of the main reasons I started playing was because I wanted to see if I could draw any lines between deca and the king and so far I am *not* disappointed.

Old mond finding out about the change belief,,, it would be so jarring for them to go from a “everything has to stay the same, the only way to break the dull monotony is to try something new but half of it is illegal now” society to a “do whatever you want forever :)” society. Isn’t the ability to change a personal freedom of sorts? I don’t know much about the change god itself yet but from what I do know Barbatos would approve of them.

I did not know you could talk to the change god but did you know once you fish enough times you can actually catch a fish? I know nothing about the odds or if it fluctuates over time but I found it interesting :D

like . like . the Idea of decarabian, perhaps, finding This Mond so …. nice. it’s perfect. but he can’t shield it from the world, that didn’t go so well last time (and this new wind god would give him a piece of their mind if he so much as tried), but maybe. there’s another way to preserve this. there’s another way to keep everyone okay.

but THEN what if he tries that with old mond. my city, my people—they’re all gone. i have nothing. nothing to return to. the things left of me are passed down records, and ruins. what happened to our language? what happened to our beliefs? what Happened, please, tell me. when you all left, what did you take with you? (<- like how much would deccy Mourn. how much would he be in a similar position; of trying to grasp onto grains of sands.)

HONESTLY it would be so cool to see how decarabian would react to the king. both doing something … not so great, out of love, out of grief, out of protection, out of “it’s better this way.” put the two of them in a room what discussion would they have 🎤 (also 👀👀👀👀 revived deccy fic !!!!! looking !!!! and YEAH god theyre both so. shakes them !!!)

kinda cute if loop gets closer to the rest of the party instead while siffrin is busy with isabeau.... like don't get me wrong it's important to me than isafrin doesn't take over isa and frin's whole lives, that their other bonds retain equal value and effort over the long run. but there is gonna be a bit of a honeymoon period while they adjust to the major shift (esp since siffrin can use focusing on a new dynamic w isabeau as a way to not focus on other, worse changes for a bit).

SO

maybe while isabeau and siffrin are going on long romantic walks that make loop itch and seethe with jealousy but taking them up on the invite to join would hurt worse,

maybe loop reads a bit of château castle, just so they can talk to mirabelle about it! siffrin wasn't interested in reading it, but loop has too much time on their hands, and it's easier to talk to mirabelle when she's focused on her favorite book series instead of them. mirabelle tries to be so kind when speaking about other people, but with characters the filters go down and she'll talk the most delightful shit, and loop learns just how to egg her on and make her laugh with their own takes.

maybe loop talks to odile about vaugarde. siffrin went through the same conversation about her heritage a dozen times, but loop never did. and it's been a long time since the days loop traveled the country with their family, long enough that they've forgotten... too much of it. so odile gets to synthesize and process the things she's learned about vaugarde while pretending she's just helping to remind loop, and loop gets to re-learn and occasionally remember facts and tales from their journeys while pretending they're just giving odile a chance to talk.

siffrin is tired of fighting and has a bad response to picturing bonnie in battle, but fighting is one of the only things still familiar to loop, and they've seen the whole party die so many horrible times. so maybe it doesn't bother them, to carefully teach bonnie how to defend themself. and bonnie is absolutely delighted, not to mention star struck! loop is inhumanly graceful and never gets tired of explaining the same techniques, correcting the same problems, running the same sequences of moves. bonnie thinks they're so cool - even cooler than siffrin - and loop is so proud of bonnie.

loop, making old friendships new again, growing into a unique place in the party!

Thinkin bout my isat au now, I don't have much of an idea on it cuz tbf I barely changed anything other than well-- Odile is in pain now. Just thinking more bout scenarios that'd differ during the uhh... new loop+?????? How'd I even go about calling that new set of loops now?

Just that the most visible change would be on Odile who's now waaay more tired looking and a lil more slower than usual. So in a way her battle style becomes a lil bit like a glass cannon in that she hits HARD but takes time for her to get a hit in now. And as the loops go on, she becomes weaker on the defense department so she truly be a glass cannon. Odile also doesn't "level up" in this au too since she had already maxed her experience out, it's just that she's also slowly dying so to be fair-- Her exp is fine but her hp isn't and her lvl is being treated like a timer of her slowly approaching doom. So even if her levels lower, it won't really affect her experience and the spells she had already unlocked. To the Universe, she's still as experienced as a lvl 99 person, it's just that now she's becoming as fragile as someone lower leveled.

She retains her more powerful spells but using those spells would backfire on her and result in a recoil that ALSO hurts her, not as much as she damages the enemies, but a significant of her hp gets taken away still.

What do you think Odile does for a living? She feels teacher like to me. What do you think she would do post canon?

HMMMM THIS IS GOOD QUESTION…

ive seen a lot of people hc her as a teacher / professor so i!! think that suits her pretty well. specifically as someone who studies + specializes in different types of craft (that would be why shes so proficient in multiple craft spells. also how she was able to figure out the loops stuff, AND to find something that could prevent siffrin from looping back).

post canon i am not sure… i am always torn between how the party would handle things post canon. obviously they would keep travelling for a bit, odile alongside her family without the stress of. constant sadness encounters + a king to kill lol. i think maybe she would get to take her time, reeaally get to know vauguardian culture when not within. a crisis. as was her original intention.

eventually. EVENTUALLY. when the family settles down somewhere (i am a “they all get a big house together” believer lol) she would get back into craft stuff. maybe go back into teaching too—surely people would be eager to hire a saviour. especially though i think it would be neat of her to try looking into wish craft etc, as a long forgotten form of craft. to satisfy her own curiosity, for siffrins sake, or just as a way of preserving the countries culture in whatever ways possible.

Thinking about Siffrin's nature in post-game and how he struggles with the fact that he's not entirely human anymore, which scares him (esp after MDP's words when it mimicked Odile). Would he still be loved if he's not a human?

Sure, he could pretend to be one, but the problem is that as time goes on, the signs become more apparent! Even before he turns into an eldritch beast to deal with King's sadness back in Dormont (which I need to figure out how this worked bc he was sort of happy when he froze, but I WANT the battle of Titans!) - he bleeds red, and his eye doesn't reflect the surroundings, but the Universe (if you watched The Last Unicorn, there was a moment like this), like you stare into his eye and see an abyss filled with stars and galaxies. Or hearing the call, which is what made his family seek solutions to somehow inhibit his nature, otherwise they're afraid (and Sif is scared too bc he doesn't want) he might just transform and leave bc the place for eldritch monsters are among the stars.

BTW, I have this scene sitting in my brain!

Isa wakes up in the middle of the night because he feels Sif is missing. He finds them outside, but in a partly transformed state, when he sees his human body, and his neck is stretched up, staring into the sky.

Sif is like "can you hear it? The Universe sings me home…." and then he offers Isa to listen. Isa takes his hands and suddenly his mind is bombarded with melodic sounds, but he cannot comprehend what he hears. He feels sick, dizzy and nauseous. His head is about to explode and it's clear it not meant for human ears.

Sif sees his pain and lets go, apologizing for hurting him. Isa asks Sif what it means, if Sif wants to leave, which it suddenly clicks for Sif and he gets scared because he doesn't want to, but part of him is drawn into cosmos like a magnet. So he changes back and falls into Isa's arms and in a few days, when Sif wakes up, they will have this discussion.

BTW 2, bc their family goes "we don't care if you are human or a beast, you're still Siffrin we love", so eventually they accept and embrace their nature, even utilizing it without straining his human body~
