For all the support I.tachi could give the Obiran ship, I think it’d be equally hilarious if he just couldn’t stop himself from making this face anytime they’re even remotely romantic with each other

Okay we'll do a quick speed run through what I've thought of so far

Good:

- Suzuran is found by O.bito and Gai while they're on a mission.

-They haven't had any formal training in ninja arts, but they did learn some stuff about chakra from an old man for a couple weeks before he passed on. He left Suzuran a lot of scrolls on sealing theory/technique and chakra control that they've worked out for themselves.

- "You mean to tell me you taught yourself chakra control and sealing theory without any supervision whatsoever?"

"What, like it's hard?"

"YES??"

- Suzuran is brought back and inducted into the village; they don't really wanna be a ninja, but given that they're practically a step away from being a master at fūinjutsu and that's got big glaring neon signs of 'WEAPON!' written all over it then they don't have much of a choice.

- Anyway, over time they get closer with O.bito until they're both mutually pining for each other and everyone else has a betting pool on when they finally get together/who confesses first.

- While they aren't overtly the most pda couple, they just ooze sappiness when they're together and it's sickeningly adorable and domestic <3

Bad:

- O.bito finds Suzuran and decides that their abilities could be very beneficial towards the A.katsuki's goals, so he seeks to bring them into the fold.

- In a manner that's similar to D.eidara's recruitment Suzuran refuses because they're not interested and get suckered in a fight against an U.chiha. (Unlike D.eidara, they don't get hung up over the loss and vow revenge lol.)

- Suzuran gets along best with the artist duo. They're diverse and creative with the kind of seals they make; they have a variety of immobilizing and exploding seals that appease both the artists.

- They hate H.idan with a passion and the second he appears they're ready to throw hands with him. No thoughts, only fight.

- As for Obiran developments:

- For the longest time Suzuran believes their feelings are one sided (despite the fact that they are the closest one to O.bito aside from Kisame and that he has told them parts of his past). They know he's stuck deep in his grief for his former teammate and that he believes the reality they're in is Hell, so even though his plan is to reform the world with the ultimate genjutsu they help him in his endeavors to achieve this goal because they love him.

- They love him, even if the true purpose of Project Tsuki no Mei makes them sad.

- However, their feelings aren't one sided. Even if O.bito's feelings don't manifest in an easy to understand way, even for himself, he does love them back.

- His trauma surrounding Rin has clouded his ability to see or react objectively. So if Suzuran were to get hurt there would be a lot of destruction left in his wake.

- There are quiet moments between the two in which O.bito is actually pretty clingy. Suzuran thinks he's like a fussy hen that tries to act indifferent, but doesn't mind.

Weird/R.oad to N.inja:

- Basically same meeting/beginning as the Good au, except right off the bat Suzuran and O.bito annoy each other to no end.

- They are Rivals™ and Anything You Can Do I Can Do Better

- Protective af of each other despite how much they "loathe" one another, but don't point it out or they'll get really loud in their denial

- Fight like an old married couple

- "Ooooooo you wanna kiss me so bad it makes you look stupid!"

- This au could also technically probably extend a little into the R.ock L.ee spin off if so desired, because it is a weird au XD

Watching more K.aguya-sama and the weird au Obiran dwelling in my soul continues to grow

Oh some things I forgot in my speed run of the three Obiran aus:

- In the Good au Rin lives and the U.chiha massacre doesn’t happen. But there’s still drama with D.anzo and the U.chiha in general because that man’s a prejudice prick with a twisted definition of what’s best for the village and on god if they could Suzuran would kick his ass into the oblivion and then some.

- Rin is the president that pioneers the Obiran fanclub and the instigator of the betting pool. So far her bet is that O.bito realizes his feelings first but Suzuran will be the one to confess. K.rum catches the snitch but Ireland wins the match

- Suzuran and S.hisui are best buds and the foundation of their friendship is horrible puns much to everyone’s despair.

- Gai is an honorary big brother.

- Doesn’t matter which one, all three au’s it’s pure loathing and “No thoughts only fight!” when it comes to H.idan and Suzuran.

- In the Weird au O.bito and Suzuran are actually already engaged by the time T.eam 7 get dunked from the Good world into the alternate reality. The children are appropriately bamboozled XD

I was so wrapped up in the idea of two versions of Obiran that I completely forgot R.oad to N.inja existed

Now I have three Obiran au’s ლ(｀∀´ლ)
