In the changeling au, what does “keeping” mean? I know there’s the whole thing about faeries tricking people into “giving” them their names, but what actually happens in this au? Like what would the actual consequences be in a practical sense?

(And I assume nothing happens if Adrien just learns the names through other means bc they have to “give” it to him?)

it means that people who's names he has are susceptible to his illusions and persuasions, even if neither party knows it

they can't perceive what he doesn't want them to, and they're more likely to agree with what he asks, even if its wildly out of character for them. he doesn't know he has this power, he just thinks his friends are really nice to him

and yeah, if he learns someone's name secondhand, it doesn't count. it has to be a direct interaction, and it has to be comprehensible

self inserts are great. some people have one they use for every media and i love seeing this one specific little guy people choose to represent themselves go on fun adventures and make friends with their favorite characters and fall in love with others. some people have a different insert for every media they ship from or even for every ship they have and that's??? honestly really impressive and cool how so many different things can represent a single person. sometimes they're fantastical and magical and sometimes they're just A Guy™ in Situations™ even if it doesn't really "fit" the media they're an insert for. and some of these designs?? I just read a very old reddit post where a lady lied to her boyfriend about "peeling" her "old skin" right after or during her period. And the bf didn't hesitate to believe her and try and make her more comfortable and pampered during those times. Thing is, the girl also convinced all women on her bf's life to keep up with this lie. Of course, he ended up finding out, and he laughed he's ass off at his own naiveness and stupidity.

Now, don't tell me this isn't something that: Mammon (OM), Leviathan (OM), Beelzebub (OM), Deuce Spade (TWST), Malleus Draconia (TWST), Leraye (WHB) , Stolas (WHB)... would completely do.

I can see them just being so worried over their girl, completely adorable idiots.

Part of me feels like I asked this already and I apologize if I did, I have not gotten a whole lot of sleep this week.

BUT

If our MCs met up in the Devildom, do you think they'd be friends? I like to imagine Sydney seeing other exchange students and just cheering them on, whether it be in their studies, day to day, or love life.

Hmm, well you did tell me about your MC Sydney! I remember her being half fae!

But I don't know if we ever talked about whether or not she'd be friends with Ciaran if they met up in the Devildom somehow...

But I can tell you right now that they would be friends. Ciaran is incredibly friendly and outgoing. The only person they don't like is Lucifer lol. Well and they get over that, though. It's more that they don't like people who are prideful (though this is very much a pot calling the kettle black type of situation... Ciaran is not super self aware lol).

Anyway, I think Ciaran would love her. Especially if she's the type to really cheer on others. 'Cause Ciaran is like that, too. So now I'm just imagining them hyping each other up! That sounds adorable, honestly!
