Day 278 Art meditation, November 13, 2022

In this long journey of how to support and love myself, how to be proud of myself on all parts of this journey, not just the success point, there is this thought that creeps up which is to slather myself in joy. It’s a little subdued today, but yesterday as I was working into the Pink part of my logo and brand, I definitely felt joy.

I think the joy is also what it feels like to make art now without the opinions of anyone else in the art process. The beauty of this art is for me to be able say, ‘you know what? I kind of like it.’

To the point where I feel emotional and physical joy.

Pink and the Feminine, are going to be our way forward …

This week I met my deadline to work into one more of Senga Nengudi’s art pieces sculptures, “OAAKA - AO”, from 1996. I think Senga knew things then that some of us are learning now, and I wonder if she feels sadness about this lag in human growth?

The other stray thought is that I’ve brought dinner parties back into my life. It’s a really good push for me past my highly Introverted nature. Making a new complicated dessert shell is a really good way for me to get into a certain inner flow. Even if the dessert kind of fails

The part that interests me the most is bringing people together in a more intimate setting, food and desserts made with love … New stuff is possible … I love allowing whatever IS to BE … Because whatever it IS, it is still in person and real and organic … So I want more of this

I wonder if I’m ever going to have the courage to contact Senga … Sigh. Another thing on my to-do list.
