“It’s chip is failing.” One of the longnecks whispered to the other. “That’s the thirteenth in a month. The empire needs loyal soldiers.” The other hissed. Trigger Frowned. He was Loyal to the empire. Anything that needed to be done was done by him in a heartbeat. “If his chip deactivates, decommission him.” The Kaminoan in red ordered. The hairs on the clone captain’s neck stood straight, like troopers at attention. Decommission?? Him? Never. His loyalty to the empire was firm. He’d only gone to see the longnecks because of the holes in his memory before the rise of the empire. There was no issues with him otherwise.
“Hey, sketch. Tell me I’m not crazy.” “You’re not crazy.” Trigger rolled his eyes. “Har dee har, trooper. The battle of Talos. Do you remember it?” “Sure I do. You led us on the offensive in the Nulsa region. Why?” “There’s something bothering me. See I remember leading you all, but there was another person, a woman.” “Hmmm. You sure? I only remember you. Is that why you went to see the longnecks? You think maybe it was a Jedi?” “Probably. To think we served with those traitors…but the problem is, I remember her so faintly…I remember…green?” “Hold on.” Sketch’s tone changed immediately. “Yeah hold on…That brought something back…Yeah there was a woman! Pretty young actually, but…why was she important? Why was she with us?” “That’s the problem, I don’t remember but she was there! I’m not crazy!” “Hold on, let’s go ask scratch and cipher if they remember her, they talked about something similar yesterday.” The two clones hurriedly made their way to the firing range, where two clones in similar armor to their own were blasting away at targets. “Cipher, Scratch.” Trigger called out. “Commander. What’s wrong?” “Battle of talos, do you remember a woman being there?” Cipher’s face paled. “Commander…is something going on?” “You’re not in trouble troopers, I’m remembering her, Sketch tells me you two were talking about something similar.” Scratch leaned in close. “We do. She was with you, you were talking to her about…something; and then we moved out.” “We have to talk to everyone who was there that day, something’s off.” Trigger whispered. “Report back to me tonight.”
Later that night, Trigger was in the barracks when Cipher stepped inside. “We talked to everyone who was there. Some of us didn’t remember until we mentioned either the color green, the smell of vanilla, or, get this; Flowers.” It hit Trigger like a cargo freighter. The woman wasn’t just with them on Talos, she was with them almost everywhere. The mess, The battle of tarlile, relief missions to Cordas…Why? “You remembered it too, didn’t you?” Cipher asked. “It wasn’t just Talos.” “I’ll check the archives. Until then, No one outside the 118th clones knows about this until we remember who she was.” “Yes sir.” Almost immediately the Clone commander left for the Archives, pulling up his records. Checking among the participants of Talos and every single major operation during the separatist crisis was the CT designations of his troopers. Everything was normal until he got to the command section of participants. Himself, and two names. Both Redacted.
