rewatching skam has just been like okay but you really don't even wanna root for ANY of these couples like i still love isak/even and am looking forward to my faves sana/yousef but i already knew i didn't care about noora/william and i barely remembered eva/jonas

but it's like okay eva/jonas got together in the first place by cheating and she cheated on him after thinking he cheated on her because he couldn't just tell her about buying weed?? skdjfkjs so like glad they didn't stay together but wow i do not like that eva gets with chris i don't remember if that lasts or not but he was clearly shitty and i have not seen signs that he's grown into someone that would not cheat on his gf btu whatever

noora/william obvs she really did end up liking him but they got together by him manipulating her into it and i know it's not like vilde ever dated him but noora should've been straight up with her long before she finally was like girly had been OBSESSED with william and as her friend noora kept it secret too long (and vilde was so calm about it when they did finally talk about it like she clearly had strong feelings about it when she saw them together so i can't fathom how she wasn't even a LITTLE petty about it) and they did end up having their moments that i enjoyed but it's still like okay she says she doesn't know if she slept with his brother and he doesn't see that red flag for what it is like instead of thinking nikolai assaulted her he just goes on thinking she cheated and refusing to listen to her AS IF she's not scared and traumatized enough after blacking out

and even/isak i do still love them but i will say actually it's similar with noora/william where there's just not much buildup before making it seem like a super serious and intense relationship i mean at least it's believable that they like each other with noora and william i was just like okay but why does she like him now what has he actually done to change her mind? but anyway AGAIN starts with cheating i guess isak and emma weren't officially together in any capacity but even and sonja WERE and idk i feel like a lot of the time that kind of thing is overlooked by fandom when it comes to m/m ships especially because it's easy to be like oh well sonja wasn't the best gf or whatever as if that justifies it but it's just like yeah okay but it's still cheating idc if it gets your fave precious boys together like there's still a girl getting hurt by that behavior

IDK obvs it is a teen show and teen shows love cheating storylines and whatnot but i've just been like omg you are all so annoying god bless but for real just break up with your partner! just break up! i'm begging you! like i am still having fun for sure but i remember enjoying it all more the first time around with the exception of sana's season bc i knew even back then that they fucked it up so i feel like the disappointment is gonna hit even harder this time since a lot of aspects of the first three seasons have already disappointed me

I hate the comparison of the new gen seasons to og because I think each of them are so different in themes from og seasons, however if we go by og isak's season standards than I want to point out that in ep. 2 Isak was planning to go to a party at Emma's and then met Even and the two of them hang out instead.

i get that, he’s a lovely and complex character! i feel like most of his personality in your writing comes maybe more from the headcanons you have of him rather than his actual characteristics since we don’t rlly know that much about him... bc having seen the show sometimes i don’t really see canon lucas in your writing, not saying it’s a bad thing hope you don’t take it the wrong way its just my opinion 🙈 i just mean it must be difficult to write his character since he wasn’t that developed in the show!!

yeah no I know exactly what you mean!! like I definitely think I’ve kinda created my own Lucas haha but I think that’s especially okay considering he was taken away from us 😪 but I mean in fanfics you take liberties with every character and have headcanons for every character and with him it honestly just feels like more freedom? because you’re not having to focus on how he is but how he would be or could be. like, in fake making-it for example they’re all in their 20s, and even in SOS he’s 17/18 compared to 15/16 in the show so I also think that’s important! we have no way of knowing what he’s like on his own or with new people or a little older or when he’s allowing himself to be in love. I mean, every universe is an au for him in a way, and I think that’s why I love writing him most. like you have to make him your own. and I think many people/fics actually quite often take a lot more liberties with him than I do haha. it was difficult to find those headcanons to begin with but writing (my) Lucas is the easiest thing for me now

I just finished my rewatch of season 1 of Skam and oh, what an excellent excellent season and I am overcome again with how much I love my children.

Skam Italia Season 2 - not a “five top clips” post, just a mention of my fave scenes I don’t think I’m able to do a top five considering skam italia season 2 (not yet anyways). I have three favourite clips I think. patatine e marmellata, effettivamente and la grotta. but then? on most days it’s halloween and nel mio letto. but what about illegale (that introduction to the season was poetic cinema come on. filo’s “c’è un prima e c’è un dopo”  had me dying, but there’s sm more, and since this will be a bit long, I’m just gonna elaborate on one of my fave details of this season: when edo says “peccato. fosse stato Fiumicino, magari, potevamo andare a fare un giro al mare prima“ - “too bad, if it had been Fiumcino, we could have gone to the sea beforehand”  while he lets go of that enlightened thingy, follows it with his eyes for a sec and when he then lowers his gaze at ele, the music drops. I love when sth like this happens. perfect synchronisation. also he is suave af), svegli (marti and giò, I just love their scenes, do I need to say more. bonus: giò calling marti out on his behaviour towards his mom), idiota (I really like marti & sana interacting. this scene is so funny. the pretended sweetness and the sarcasm. also marti you’re kind of an ass here and I’m glad sana wasn’t getting any of that. bonus: marti’s “ha ha ha” read: ‘you’re gonna pay for this, sana.’ spoiler: she didn’t pay for that), radio osvaldo (bla bla vafftanculo I’m faking a phone call to get out of this radio meeting so I can embarrass myself in front of my crush a couple of minutes later, but then we have a nice moment on the school terrace only for emma to ruin it and all that I have left to do is glancing at my crush awkwardly lol he didn’t notice anything, did he? hahaha I’m already into deep fml), niccolò (the few seconds we see marti being terrified of sana lmao bless you fede you never fail to deliver. and then he sees nico through the glass [goddamn that metaphor] and is awe-struck. i mean same, but yeah, he’s totally out of it. i like that they don’t use the slow-motion thingy too often, it’s a bit cheesy, but sometimes it works quite well and it does work very well in this scene. nico stares right back and you can see how marti has trouble breathing, thinking, whatever, he’s just gone. bonus: marti’s eyes and his freckles and his lovely hair. you can see all of that very clearly in this clip. it’s so nice. another bonus: choice of music. yeah arctic monkeys works with me every time), tabasco (because nico is a jealous little bean who can’t cook and their eye-love-making on the couch of course [I wish that one incident didn’t happen though]. bonus: I love that apartement, it’s definitely an aesthetic), ammucchiate (I hate-love this clip, but I’m too tired to go into detail. all I can say is that the red dancing scene, where they are staring at each other while marti makes out with emma and nico with maddalena, is one of my fave scenes of the season. music? on spot. cinematography? on spot. tension? on spot. visible conflict? on spot. and then the scene by the trash cans. nico is obviously using the story about maddalena to test the waters considering marti’s opinion on mental health, and well, pinky touch and almost kiss hahaha let me die), seguimi (red thread of fate!!), pausa (only because i want eva x giò back and this little scene was ;8( and then the bathroom scene between marti x nico. “io ho voglia di stare con te. tu non hai voglia di stare con me???????????“ but then it starts to hurt, but I like pain heyy), pride (did I mention I like pain? bonus: the location!), quante cazzate (back with the pain. the ending made me cry my eyes out. it was the first time I cried for marti. federico’s acting...good lord. that was so horrible to watch. the fight between the boys was already tough, but when he broke down, I could only sob), quando parlo (federico cesari’s acting FEDERICO CESARI’S ACTING. I cried so hard. I’m so happy they introduced us to mamma rametta, but god, that was painful), lei è lo psicologo? (the introduction of one iconic celery dude aka dr. roberto spera. I hope he makes a comeback somehow. also: marti, you’re so brave for trying to get help), ti fidi di me, rose? (filippo sava is back and we witness marti smiling. call the police), pace (giò’s “a testa demmerda. che ridi? vieni qua, no?” and then marti coming out to the boys [more or less]. they are all idiots, but they’ve grown sm on me by that clip, I just want to give them all a hug. a bonus hug for giò, cause he continues to be the best supportive friend one can hope for), sto a bracciano (just when I thought I coudln’t love the contrabbandieri more, they release that clip. so many beautiful things happen, it would take me some time to write them down, so I think it’s better if I skip that. all I want to say for now is ‘giovanni, il mago dell’amore, garau’, ladies and gentlemen), due ore (because, duh, they are reunited and marti can’t stop smiling. I’m a huge sucker for marti’s smile. he should do that 24/7. bonus: fantastic choice of music yet again), then I think we have the red scene in Milano where the clip ends. (beautiful and sensual. music was again on spot and so was the cinematography. best shot is the very end with nico beside marti where we can only see half of nico’s content face and marti laying on his back smiling, half hugging his lover. there. clip? finito), vediamo (the metaphor with the giraffe. both heartbreaking and beautiful at the same time. goddamn. and mama rametta and marti who are working on their relationship and need to be protected at all costs, and oh, superb acting once again followed by many many tears), namacissi (I’ll spare you the details, this would get to long. I think I mentioned how much I love dr. spera and the boys. again. so many things to love [how to throw comedy into a serious scene you ask? this clip has the answer]), martino e niccolò (soft, softer, marti and nico. under all this suffering there’s this fine line of hope evolving. beautifully acted, important representation and a wonderful message of how very important it is to show how much you care. “solo baci sul naso” let me diiieee), si vedi (”cià cià” “cià cià cià ciao”  I mean? plus marti and his mom, do I need to say more. also: marti smiling), classifica (boy squad + nico (they should have a name. anyone?), two boys kissing in public. big yes. show them. bonus: the end with giò lmao i died), sono io (this would get too long as well. I’m just gonna say “bacio al panettone?” “bacio al panettone!” marti and nico are the worst. I don’t like them all. last, but not least: marti and eva. this friendship is back dudes and dudettes, I need at least a couple of scenes in the next season(s) and then, finally, marti claiming his identity. I stan forever. this character development is over 9000 I don’t make the rules).

so yeah, I suck at deciding. some clips have just good scenes worth mentioning and some clips are close to my top five or even in my top five who knows I don���t. I think I could manage a top ten idk

I watched one of those "reacting to Skam season 3" video out of pure boredom and that led me to a rewatch at 3am after probably more than a year since I last saw anything related to OG Skam..now I wanna go back to 2016..that period of time when every day we couldn't wait for them to drop the new clip will always have a pretty special place in my memories...ughhh..nostalgia

oh everyone is saying how they're excited which makes me even more nervous. I literally don't even know if I'll finish it. I have a tendency to abandon projects halfway through but I'm hoping that by talking about it here I will be pressured to finish it.

I also haven't been so disappointed by a druck season before, but also I consider all the previous druck seasons good with just like some not so great aspects. Like at least all the seasons before were consistent with what they set up. Sure they might have fucked up, but I never had to continuously think about what even are the themes of the season.

What's frustrating is the potential. Like you see all the elements were there. All the elements for a really good season were there. And then they just...didn't follow through on them.

As for my writing background...

I've never written anything this big before. Me and my best friend were a writing duo pretty much since we learned how to write. The longest thing we've written had about 40 pages I think (we were like 13, 14 and it was a story about a girl who can read minds. It was so silly. There was a best friend with an inflatable lounge door etc.). But on my own, I never had the perseverance to actually write anything long. Most of it was short and depressing. Also most of the time I'd much rather do something else. But then again once in a while I get struck by a muse and write like a short drabble or write like 2-3 pages of little something. But then once again I don't follow through on it to come back to it. But I have been meaning to get better at keeping at it. Which I guess this is also like an exercise if I can actually do it. It seems just small enough that I might do it, but also big enough that I will feel good about myself if I do finish it.

But also Druck has literally been the only show that I have ever written something for and actually published it for others to see it. So if you like wanna know how bad my writing skills are you can look here (which I wrote I think during like s3e3 or something, so it's a bit of canon divergence) and then I also wrote this after David came out to Matteo when we were all angry about Matteo's silence, and then I also found this little skam thing from back when we were in hiatus between s3 and s4. And I think that's all I ever released to the public. The rest is in my various notebooks that no one is ever gonna see or read or lost to time completely.

As for the Ismail's season - I have a basic idea of what the emotional beats are gonna be and where I want them to happen. I have a semi-detailed line up of episode 1, but I have to actually go rewatch and like transcribe some stuff from the clips that actually stays. I have two clips from episode 2 fully written up, and the rest is of the episode also semi-described what I want to happen in each clip.

The rest of it is just like some notes on things that happen later in the season etc. It's sitting at 2000 words right now. The thing is I tend to think about it while falling asleep which means that I either have to get up like 20 times to go write it down or, like yesterday, I started recording my thoughts with a recorder on my phone so that I don't forget what I want it to be. I'm gonna try to stick with it through the holidays and get like a few chapters/episodes in, and then I'd probably released some of it to know if anyone actually likes it.

This is probably more than you've asked for, but you know me. I always talk too much.

yeah for sure!! i’ll put what i remember under the keep reading tab for ppl who wanna hear about it :) i only went to the panel, not the rewatch (bc money lmao) so there are probably some other things they talked about that i missed, but i’m sure there are other ppl on here that can fill you in on any gaps that i miss!

it was valeria (jo), julie (megan), and lakeisha* (shay), and pedro (p jo) on the panel (he was the moderator, the other three did most of the talking), though they did mention other castmates throughout :,) 

*lakeisha was the name they went by on the panel, and in the info before the panel it said they use they/them pronouns, so that’s how i’ll be referring to them throughout this 

all of them started out by talking about what they’re doing currently, julie said she’s dropping out of school because her therapist told her “you as a person matters more than you as a student” which i thought was a great sentiment as well 

lakeisha said they’ve been making a lot of clothes and music (also throughout the whole thing they kept showing us their shoes and they left to pee like halfway through something they were answering one time hfjskaj)

they then talked about their audition processes (val had the most chaotic series of audtions omg i would love to see her audition tapes)

val originally read for either jo or megan, and she had literally just moved there like right before casting and almost didn’t go to her audition

she said that she decided to be the loudest person in the room so that they couldn’t ignore her, and that carried her through most of the rounds of auditioning

she said that at the end she said “if you don’t choose me, which you should choose me, but if you don’t, please choose another latinx actress because you have no idea how much it means to see someone who looks like you on screen”

julie auditioned because she was hoping julie (andem) would bring lisa and tarjei and she basically wanted a free meet and greet djkfshk 

she found out about skam og on tumblr !! she’s one of us 😌 

she thinks julie andem is the coolest person in the world 

they told her that she was pretty much everything they envisioned megan to be, so they cast her fairly early on and then had her partner with the marlon prospects 

giovanni, who eventually played tyler, auditioned for marlon and they kissed during their audition even though they weren’t supposed to

julie went to high school with till who ended up playing marlon and people would always ask her what it was like to get to make out with him and she was just like .... we just working bruh

lakeisha found the ad to audition on instagram and decided why not because it said it was a paid job 

they looked up a bunch of improv games the night before because they had no experience and had no idea what they were doing

in the audition julie asked what the tattoos on their hand meant (and also the one thing lakeisha was excited about being out of contract was that they could get as many tattoos as they wanted without asking for permission)

they all had a lot of love for julie andem and loved working with her

val said that she’d always try to make julie laugh and she said that julie is the reason og and austin are so good, because it’s her story and her vision 

they roasted the shit out of fb too (as they should)

basically fb ghosted them and never renewed the show but also never cancelled it so technically they don’t even know if anyone else could get the rights to reboot the show somewhere else (lakeisha said ‘skam austin onlyfans’ lmao)

i don’t remember which one of them said it but they said fb is like an inconsistent dad lollll

they also think that fb sort of finessed julie/her team because they were under the impression that it would be like og where they had their own website for the show and everything, but then it ended up just being a facebook page

they also filmed promo for season 1 that never ended up being used but they don’t know why 

lakeisha felt super disrespected by the fact that not only did they not get their season, but also the fact that they just dropped the show like it was nothing and none of them even found out that they probably weren’t getting more seasons until they saw that their instagram accounts were gone

everyone was upset about the igs getting deleted too because they put so much work into the content on there for it all to just disappear 

val said “no one tells a story like the one that was about to be told” and everyone agreed

val said that if the show would have continued, jo would have been undocumented and they would have shown her trying to navigate college (not only were we robbed of a jo season, we were robbed of college seasons 😤)

jo x jo were definitely going to be a thing

val said that when they wrapped s2 she was like finally!!! because now they could get into the stories that they really wanted to tell and really knew would make a difference (everyone vehemently agreed)

they were proud of the fact that they’re the most diverse cast and that they don’t just treat the characters of color like sidekicks like the other remakes do

julie talked about how skam france was the only remake to have jonas not accept isak right away when he was coming out and how it was suspicious that he happened to be the only non white jonas and that was the choice they made

val said that druck is the only remake she’s watched but she likes it

they also talked about how, even though it’s great that the cast was so diverse, practically everyone behind the scenes was white

val said that she didn’t really think about it much at the time because she found it hard to speak up since she was very young and inexperienced but looking back she wishes jo’s body wasn’t so fetishized as a latina (she didn’t clarify whether she was talking on a production level or within the fandom, but she talked about costuming so i assumed she meant more on a production level)

they all wished there was more representation off screen as well as on

shay x megan was brought up and julie said that shay was going to have her own love interest (am!even !!!!) come season three, and that it wouldn’t have been megan 

she also said that megan was mostly just confused and like ‘haha i kiss girls when i’m drunk’ but then she also said that megan and shay never had feelings for each other at the same time so 👀 

she was upset that they made megan and marlon get back together at the end of season 2 because she wasn’t a fan of them together, but she said it also makes sense because a lot of teen girls go back to their toxic exes even when they know it’s not good for them

lakeisha said that they hated shay’s acrylic nails because it didn’t make sense to them for her to have them (especially since shay was a musician)

they also said that they’ve been pretty confident and open with their sexuality since they were around 12, and that one time in middle school they dated a boy because he had an xbox and then they were like oh no is this toxic am i using him because he actually has feelings for me?? hdskafja 

they also said that the cfgc music happened because they heard that the boys from og also had a song and at first i was like wtf are they talking about but now i think they meant the penetrator song 💀💀 

julie has a cfgc shirt :,) and they all stole a bunch of clothes and stuff from set, val said she took a bunch of outfits that jo never wore which makes her sad to think about now 

val’s favorite scene to film was the car scene in s1 before the party (she said it was one of the best moments of her life) and julie said she liked that one as well (val said there’s a shot of her looking into the camera and flipping it off but they didn’t include it in the show, i feel robbed)

people asked how it felt for lakeisha to be the first lesbian isak and they said that they didn’t feel like they were, because they didn’t really get the chance :(( but they also said that the idea itself was very intimidating and there was a lot of pressure around it

they also said that they and gio were very very close both on screen and off, they said it wasn’t even like they were an extension of one person, that’s how close they got

there were a lot of improvised scenes, particularly with val, and she also said that incorporating spanish into jo’s dialogue was mostly improvised 

julie, val, and pedro also all talked about how they’re all mexican, and how each of their life experiences vary so much from one another, on the show and off and julie said megan’s upbringing was a lot like hers 

they all also said that they liked the music the show used and a lot of them have emotional attachments to a lot of the songs 

val said she wishes they used more frank ocean and i agree 

they also said they’re not sure if there are bloopers or anything, but they’d love to see them if there are 

i’m trying to think of anything i missed ahhh i feel like they talked about so much but i think i’ve got the key points soooo
