what gets me about this moment is that I don't think mu qing needed to say anything, not even 'please help', but especially not begging for understanding. xie lian would have helped him anyway. but in doing the begging, he's reminded everyone (except poor lost Feng Xin i guess) of why xie lian might not want to help him.

#i also think its interesting that its emphasized here that like. xie lian doesn't hold grudges but he Remembers #and i think this incident in particular was so damaging to his faith in the world #and now he's put in the other spot #actually in a way i think this almost helps mu qing's chances bc xie lian is quite burnt out on vengeance #and i don't think he'd ever pass up the chance to be the spot of goodness he needed back then #if that makes any sense #not that it really matters. xie lian wouldn't let him die unless he was sure that mu qing was extremely evil #tgcf #tgcf liveblog
