This!
you guys know how certain people fall asleep when they're with someone they trust? the kind of trust where in their entire body just accepts that vulnerability is fine with this person? Yeah, that's Kaeya to Rosaria. She would sneak into his office while he works just to sleep. His office is usually really quiet whenever she comes because he instructs his knights to just slip the documents under the door whenever she dozes off.
"Wake me up in 15 minutes" She would say after yawning.
"I'll take note of that sister Rosaria." He would wake her up when he clocks out.
In turn, whenever she bumps into him while he's outside of the city, she keeps him company. At times, returning the favor by letting him sleep on her lap.
"Wake me up in 15 minutes" Kaeya would ask while listening to the crackling bonfire.
"Sure." She would let him sleep until sunrise.
(can be platonic, can be romantic, either way they have each other.)
#i love them#they clearly care deeply about eachother too (platonically at the very least)#i feel like both Kaeya and Rosaria are the types who get really uncomfortable and prickly when people try to show affection via-#-physical touch (deeply rooted distrust does that to a person)#but with eachother they find it much easier to give in to the other person's comfort#not overly so like they won't be cuddling up on the sofa every hour of the day#but when life gets a little too hard there's always a shoulder there for them to lay their head on#both are much more acts of service type of people (more openly at least) and letting the other sleep around them is definitely part of that#my communal stash of kaeya#my communal stash of rosaria

⋅ Who said waking up for a midnight snack wasn’t healthy, especially compared to Yangyang’s roommate who is trying to study when the clock is ticking its way to the morning. Luckily, like the good roommate he is, he takes care of you.
Yangyang rubbed his eyes the second he woke up, the grumbling of his stomach making him realize why he had woken up in the first place. A groan slipped past his lips, throwing the warm sheets to the side as he already gave in to the midnight cravings. He pushed his body off of the upper bunk bed, a 'thump' when his feet landed on the ground sounding loud due to the coldness of the bedroom. His tired eyes didn't notice how the lower bed was empty, and left in a heap of previously warm sheets.
His footsteps blindly guided him out of the bedroom, heading towards the common living room and kitchen. He would regret this in the morning due to tiredness, but for now, he just wanted to get rid of the forming ache in his stomach. One of his hands slowly reached out to look for the light switch against the wall, only to realize it wasn’t as dark as he expected it to be in the living room.
It took a couple of seconds for him to even adjust to the dim light coming from the other side of the living room, but once his eyes had verified that it was okay to look, he noticed he wasn’t alone anymore. Your figure was seated on a chair at the desk, typing away on your laptop with occasional mouse clicking as the only sounds he could head. “y/n, is that you?” he asked, though he had already realized it couldn’t be anyone else but you.
Yangyang waited for a reply, seconds ticking by but it seemed as if he could wait forever due to the silence that he got in return. “y/n?” he asked again, this time stepping a little closer to the source of light. He could see the white document of your laptop, filled up with the black letters in its regular font. After that, his eyes followed how you clicked to Spotify Webplayer to change the track, a smile gracing his lips when he realized you simply couldn’t hear him because of your earbuds blasting music at this hour of the night.
For a few minutes he just stood there and observed in silence, because despite his playful antics, there was also a different side to him that would watch people from up close. The way your shoulder slumped slightly indicated that you were close to giving up on your tasks, and your manner of rubbing your eyes every once in a while pointed out a great feeling of tiredness. When your fingers weren’t occupied typing: your mind searched for new words, or wandered to a hazy state. Yangyang wondered how you could even do this at this hour, but guilt kicked his ass when he realized he was the one who stopped you from making homework just the day before, if he hadn’t forced you to watch a horror movie with him then you wouldn’t be working now.
“Okay, time for bed” Yangyang grumbled to himself when it became clear that you had no intention of stopping what you were occupying yourself with. He took the remaining steps towards you, his improvident mind causing him to pull at the string of your earbuds so that they dropped from your ears. An overly loud shriek left your lips due to the sudden attack of your college roommate, but once you had seen his face, you expressed your disappointment with an eye roll. “What do you want?” you asked, your heart slowing down after its most critical moment today.
The face Yangyang made told you he was more disappointed in you than you were in him, and you also knew it was because he caught you making your assignments in the middle of the night. “Sleep, and clearly you need it too,” He said, clearly referring to the way your mood was a consequence of the lack of sleep. You moved your chair more towards him, giving him another look on your laptop which made him wonder if you had been there since he was asleep... was it even possible to type so many things in a span of a few hours? Though his words didn’t make you acknowledge the truth as he had hoped. “I need to work on this now, before I only have one day left. I don’t want to be like you” you shot back in defense.
Yangyang very well knew your defensiveness came from exhaustion mixed with a growing feeling of failure with every wasted minute. Regardless of his need to diss you back, he ignored it so that the talk now wouldn’t turn into annoyance between the two of you. “Do you want a snack? We still have leftovers” he said, stepping away from you to empty the fridge and fill his stomach. You only hummed in response, making it unclear for him whether that was a yes or a no. But when you mumbled a small no, he returned with only a small bit of leftover food for himself to eat.
“Can I help somehow?” he asked as he took a seat on the sofa, his feet dangling over the arm of the sofa to keep himself slightly active in the tired state. When you didn’t reply, he nearly thought you were ignoring him for real this time, but then realized you were just finishing off a sentence that you really needed to type down before you’d forget. “No, just be quiet. I have a headache” you said in a softer tone, never breaking eye contact with the electronic device in front of you. Your confession made Yangyang stop chewing for a few seconds, eyebrows narrowing at the thought of working on college-related things while headache and tiredness were kicking in. As much as he knew you’d have to finish your task before it became a last-minute kind of thing, he also knew you needed sleep and care. “Come, stop working,” he ordered as he got up from the sofa.
Before you could protest, his hands already broke the eye contact between you and your laptop by closing it, leaving the file unsaved and your laptop on standby. “Don’t be angry” he said as he could see the way your lips parted to start protesting against his thoughtless decision. He took your hands away from the desk, intertwining his warm fingers with your colder ones. “Let’s go to bed now, I know you’re tired,” he said in a gentle tone, the tone being its way to win you over to his side. Thankfully you had been already at the edge, and he made you take the last step towards his side. You slowly got up, his hands pulling your weight off of the chair so that you were standing next to him.
In slow steps, he lead you with him back towards the bedroom that you shared. His hand still holding yours to pull you a little closer whenever he noticed that your steps were going in the wrong direction. Tiredness had really taken over your mind by now, and he was the only one to realize it. “Here we are,” he said once he pulled you into the bedroom gently, leaving the light off so that your headache wouldn’t get triggered to build up even more.
Luckily your bed was the lower one, as Yangyang was convinced you'd never make it up the few steps with your tiredness. And at this moment he was happy you didn't share a room with those who often pulled gaming all-nighters like Donghyuck. He held onto your hand as he helped you to lay down on the single mattress, unexpectedly getting pulled along as you hadn't let go of his hand. His free hand quickly pressed onto the soft fabric to prevent himself from falling on top of you. "y/n" he whined soft, his face dropping on the mattress in sleepiness.
"I won't let go of you now" Yangyang mumbled, not even moving his head to the side, despite not being able to breathe through the fabric. Instead of complaining as you would usually do when he said such things, you cuddled up closer to him. "Then stay" you whispered to yourself, your breathing slowing down once you were settled in the arms of your roommate. You were unable to see the smile appearing on Yangyang's face when he heard the words. "I will. Don't worry" he replied soft to you, finally moving his face from the mattress as instead, he nuzzled his head closer to yours, his smile-painted lips pressing a kiss to the top of your head.
A few silent minutes passed by, due to the darkness your eyes had automatically shut. "I told you I'd help, I do it because I love you" Yangyang whispered into the silence, the smile he had before was still existing on his lips. For what seemed like the millionth time today, your reply was not more than silence. Your breathing said more than words, as you had fallen into a peaceful sleep,
in the embrace of your favorite person.
