I never got taught Sun Smart Safety! I definitely could've used it as a kid LMAO, the part of Alabama I used to live in got BAKING HOT in the summer. My standards for "weather I can run in" were fully insane back then (and even now, I'd take high noon in the summer over a cold rainy run in a heartbeat 😖)
I also like cold deaths for spooky purposes! But I think heat deaths are kind of underused - I really like the delirious foggy haze of it all :3 wandering off into the desert and dying of exposure in Derek's route was super fun for me. Plus there's something really appealing about severe sunburns (in fiction!).... the torturous potential...... >:3c
BB! You better be wearing at least sunscreen and sunglasses during this hypothetical high noon summer run! Don't make me come down there!
The foggy haze delirium is a symptom of heat stroke bestie, when we wandered off into the desert and met the demon our organs were cooking.
Ugh, severe sunburn to me just means sun blisters and those are kinda nastygross if they get big and they fucking hurt, which I guess is the point if we're going for "torturous potential".
I do like it in a hurt/comfort context though, sunburn is ubiquitous enough that most people know how to treat it and it sucks just enough that having someone else do it is a relief, cute cute if ya ask me ♡
#asks#patchwork-fool#BB Lore unlocked#im not sure if “has been to Alabama at least once” and “possibly likes running” count as lore#but I'm adding them to the BB folder in my head anyway#slip. slop. slap. seek. slide (sun safty nonsense they teach us as kids in Australia)#not adding context to that because I think it's funnier not to#ya ever had a sun blister pop because someone thew a book at you? i have. it sucks lmao#I'm a big ol' softy that likes vulnerability of tender medical care. shocker I know lol

More Buff Chichi 💖💪🏽
Ik it’s been a while but here’s another buff chichi I drew. This was supposed to be like a funny shitpost (I was using one of those out of context images as a reference) but I got serious halfway through lmao, now it has a whole dialogue and extra shading n shi. I literally die everytime someone likes my old buff chichi post and anything dragonball related I’ve made bc I never expected the fandom to still be alive like this when I first started posting (also my aus are rly random and I never expected ppl to actually see and like them oop) and it gives me a good jumpscare when I come back to check my inbox lmao.
Anyways. Here’s Chichi being Stronk, who knows who said it but Chichi heard someone mention her age as if that would mean she would be weak and she took it as a little challenge and grabbed her boys as quickly as she could to put that statement to rest. Trust she’s got some muscles under there, you just can’t see them because these goobers are covering them.
I originally had some extra speech bubbles where she says “I bet I could even lift your father, Videl, and Pan at the same time too!” To which Gohan replies “Please Don’t! You’ll hurt yourself” because he’s the only one worried about her age and health lmao. Everybody else just egged her on. Maybe even Goku gets sad he wasn’t the one lifted instead but who knows. Goten’s line was also altered from “Gohan and Dad really weren’t kidding about you still working out.” But it sounded a bit like a jab at the two and her since it’s unlikely that’d be a thing he wouldn’t believe from either of them. She trained him, like cmon, out of all the people who’d stop training? idk what I was thinking with that line😅
Added trunks last second because it was funny thinking of Bulma struggling with doing the same but only with Trunks, and even funnier when I thought about Vegeta doing it bc he would be half embarrassed but he doesn’t like to lose. (Though it’d be too easy for him and would make no difference since he’s a super powered alien.) Also I thoroughly enjoyed drawing these three together, it was really hard since I’ve only ever drawn chichi out of all three.

i love how benson is, on the surface, this devil-may-care kind of character, going around shooting people, dragging randy around to fix his life and scaring the hoes in the process—but at the same time there are these little details that show how much he does care. I mean the big obvious one is his motivation for wanting to fix randy, fix randy and help him not turn out like benson and the rest of the people in the small town, we all know this and have gone over these themes. but the smaller details, unintentional or not, those are really nice. Benson being the only one at Burger Burgers Burgers who has his sleeves cuffed and his shirt tucked in. This is one of many details that shows Benson does care, he cares about how he looks and how he's perceived to some extent. because let's be honest, it does set his character apart from the stereotypical 'redneck working at a fast food joint'. Which then gives an added weight to when he walks outside for his cigarette and untucks his shirt. he's releasing himself from this more restrained version he's presented himself as up until that point. Which then ALSO makes Chris saying "Benson, why do you fucking care?" even funnier. because like... Benson basically responds by killing him which in a way is him saying "hey, you're right, why do I fucking care?" lmaoooo Benson is also the only one, other than Randy (and I guess hardy?) who is wearing BBB uniform trousers. Chris is wearing cargo joggers and Jess is wearing a mini skirt with fishnets. If benson really didn't care about that job, or how he looked at that job, would he be wearing 100% of the uniform, well fitted, cuffed, tucked, cleaned, and ironed? And then when changing outfits at his house he puts on a fuzzy yellow/green cardigan and graphic ringer tee, the choices of which feel very intentional and like they're his favorite pieces of clothing. Which I think must be true if you think about him knowing this is his swan song, he wants to go out looking good. But what he doesn't change? His trousers. You'd think after killing three people at a job you probably don't particularly like and dragging their bodies around, changing out of the uniform would be a relief, other than wanting to just get out of clothes that are recognizable to the restaurant. Which makes me think his BBB uniform trousers are the best/most well-fitting trousers he owns which in itself is interesting. I mean look at the clothes he gives randy, they're not that much different in body size so even on benson those jeans would've been oversized as hell. This somewhat cleaned up version of himself that he presents, especially pre-killing spree, juxtaposed to his home life and his car is, I think, a great representation of Benson as a person. His home life, the clutter, his Ma in the front room, the clothes he gives randy, the junk strewn around his car—versus his cleaned and cuffed and tucked uniform and his stylish cardigan and graphic tee (idc what you say i love the cardigan)—I think it shows someone who is struggling but putting on a brave front, trying to come off as put together, as someone who knows himself and doesn't care about other people's perceptions, but at the same time so desperately does care and hates that he cares, and hates that he can't seem to change things. he can only dress them up a little to look presentable to passersby. and maybe it's one of those "the walls are just blue because they're blue!!" type situations and the wardobe dept or kyle or carter or the art director and whoever else, maybe it's just simply style/design decisions by one or several of them and there's no subtextual meaning behind it all—but even if so, I love that, to me at least, it's developed this deeper meaning within the context of the film and the character.
Don't even get me started on the Kurt Cobain cardigan and Benson having a shotgun in his trunk.
#hey i should just shut up#lol#the passenger#the passenger 2023#im gonna go work on a gifset now hehe

DGaider: "I wonder if they're going to call it DA4 for the same reasons DA2 had its name ("so everyone knows it's a sequel"), which we fought against so DAI didn't have to be called DA3. That would be kind of hilarious, honestly." [source] Twitter user: "I hope not, I’ve gotten use to Dreadwolf. But apparently, the change may be to “Dread Wolf.”" DG: "That would be even funnier, since it's the kind of change that's barely worth mentioning... yet it's not even EA mentioning it." [source] Twitter user: Was there pushback against naming the first one “Origins” at all? I’ve always wondered about how games get named and numbered (or not). I’ll admit I would’ve been the one in a focus group confused bc I associate “Origins” with prequels, not the start of a franchise." DG: "I don't remember why Origins got added, tbh. I just remember thinking it was funny, because the playable origins were considered a feature so the name change was, like, "Dragon Age: Game Feature" to me." [source]

I'm using Mando'a in a story I'm writing and I wrote myself into a little linguistic hole. A number of words and verbs (ba'buir, ba'vodu, ba'gedet'ye, ba'jurir, ba'viinir) have the prefix of ba', but I haven't been able to figure out it's purpose. Because when added to buir, it becomes grandparent (ba'buir), and when added to vod, it become ba'vodu (aunt/uncle), so it sounds like a...a lifting term, like "above parent" sort of, but the other words don't use this rule. Help, please?
I like to think it's another tier of something. Whether it's before or after is dependent on context though. Things coming before: Buir is "parent", ba'buir is their parent Vod is "brother/sister", ba'vodu is your parent's brother/sister Jurir is "bear arms," ba'jurir is education and raising children. In a literal sense this can be taken as ensuring the next generation has the knowledge they need to protect themselves and pass that on also. Things coming after: Slanar is "go," ba'slanar is "depart." Gedet'ye has more tiers, where gedet'ye is "please," gedeteyar meaning to be thankfu and "ba'gedet'ye" is "You're welcome" I'm not sure where ba'yair fits...? It means to chew?? I mean it's a step during eating so???? As for specifically ba'viinir, it is a fan created word stemming from the word viinir meaning to run. Which with my rule of tiers, is so much funnier that the next tier of run is "EVERYONE RUN!!!" But another way it can be used is to scatter something, rocks, credits, animal feed, pretty much anything that can be spread quickly I'd assume. I hope this helps ✌️

All my favorite moments in blue beetle: a very long and silly list because this is my new fav movie ever (latinos on top fr)
The fact that the entire movie is low key a representation of how lost people can feel after they finish college and don't know what to do with their life.
How celebrated it is that Jaime is a first gen college student
As much as I loved him being from el paso, I love that he now gets his own city that it still deeply rooted in latino culture
How despite the fact that everything is going bad for the family, Jaime still tries to keep moral up and be positive
Jaime stands up for Jenny without thinking
How his persistence is what ends him landing up with the scarab, and subsequently keeping it out of victorias hands
Am I allowed to say his entire family? The scene where they're all pushing him to open to the box was so funny. Their dynamic felt so real, and it makes even more sense because apparently any time they were bickering it was improv.
How well the movie handled micro-aggressions against latinos. Like the receptionist didn't even attempt Jaime name, and how Victoria would never get her scientist's name right. They are subtle, but very real problems.
Maybe this was just me, but from the trailers I thought Jenny and Jaime already new each other, but I liked that they just met. It made their story more interesting.
The body horror route they decided to take with the suit was so cool.
The suit in general. I missed practical suits so much, and it just looked so amazing.
Another thing, that has already been talked about a lot but idc, is that I still am so in love that his family knows from the get go. Of course it wasn't really his choice, but I love how there is never any big secret, and they are constantly in the picture.
I know the Khaji-Da doesn't have as much personality compared to the comics, but the whole sequence where Jaime first gets the suit was so funny.
Notoriously in the comics the beetles were sent out to worlds to be the harbingers for their creator species to invade said world. I loved the small detail in the intro of the blue beetle crashing into the green beetle and then having a flash of electricity. I wonder if that was to hint at a malfunction, since the Khaji-Da never goes to evil with Jaime.
I love Rudy's truck. It's stupid but that's why it's so good.
The whole family debrief was was funnier than it should've been, and the beetle on Jaime spine looked wicked as well.
I thought it was interesting how much of a presence Ted Kord had on the movie, mainly because. of Jenny, but it was still there.
Every. Single. Latino. Reference. I could barely keep up there were so many good ones omg, the details were amazing.
For Jenny being an original character I thought she was done very well
I love how Rudy was useful and basically got them into kord industries.
I love the way we only see Jaime eyes in the suit. It's a different approach to what we've seen with masked heroes so far and I love it
How much they talked about the first two blue beetles, I thought adding that context made it better
They made it very evident how lonely Jenny feels, and I think her small emotional moments really paid off in the end.
I love how Jaime was so openly affectionate with both Rudy and his father, it's something uncommon with men in latino cultures and I loved seeing it.
The entire sequence where Jaime's house was being raided was so uncomfortable. And it was in moments like this were I thought Soto did a great job of weaving real world problems latinos face within a superhero movie.
The moment when Jaime's father had a heart attack, and Jaime was being dragged away, and his sister was screaming was just so heartbreaking and powerful. All of them were hurting so much.
I loved how active his family was, and how all of them immediately went to go rescue him.
Side note: the bug ship looked so cool and goofy and I loved it so much
How Jose was actually very curious about Jaime's connection to the beetle, but Victoria didn't care
The whole dream scene with Jaime and his father. I thought it perfectly mirrored their conversation from the beginning of the movie, and I thought it was incredibly moving. Not to mention I loved the detail of Jaime wearing the last outfit he saw his father in.
I loved that Jaime saved himself, but that his family greatly aided him. I thought it was a great metaphor for the fact that you can do things on your own, but having support can really make the difference
I thought it was so funny that Jaime absolutely refused to kill, and his family members did it was a smile on their face lmaoo.
I know it's cheesy, but I always love it in superhero movies when the main character finally accepts their destiny and it was a very cool moment for Jaime too. But I will say I think they did it with an interesting approach. For most superhero movies the big moment is the superhero finally deciding to go out of their way and fight the big bad, but in this movie he just finally fights what's right in front of him.
How once Jaime accepted himself as the Blue Beetle, Khaji-Da started speaking to him in spanish and adopted his ideologies, further proving their relationship is a two way street.
I loved that Khaji-Da stopped Jaime from killing Carapax, because he was justifiable angry, but he would've regretted it at some point
The low key plot twist of the locket Carapax had not being his wife and child, but being him and his mother. That was genius tbh.
I loved that Jaime had the iconic 2000s superhero half masked fight. This movie felt so 2000's but in the best way possible.
How the entire final act was circling back to the point of loving his family making him weak, but throughout everything we've seen, it's clearly the opposite.
I liked how once Jaime bonded with Khaji his mask would come on and off on command.
How Jaime started wearing his father's necklace in the ending :(
I loved the entire score so much, the synth wave vibe they decided to take was fantastic. I also love how iconic and recognizable they made blue beetle's main theme. Like the bum bum bummm that kept showing up was so good.
I really loved how they aged Jaime up to 22 as a newly college grad. I feel like superheros are always either 16 or 40 and there's never any in between, so it was nice to see.
And for my last point to a very long list: I loved that in the end Carapax helped Jaime and Jenny. Because the real villain was Victoria making them fight each other, and in my opinion that was such a powerful metaphor for latinos and any pocs
#blue beetle#blue beetle movie#jaime reyes#This movie means way too much to me#Like I have been so hyped every since I heard it was being made#Was literally there every step of the way#And im happy to say it completely surpassed my expectations#FINALLY A MEXICAN SUPERHERO#LATINO HEROS ON TOP

For the character asks, Lance Hunter
Thanks for the ask! 💙
First impression: Loved him. I think I found him a little bit annoying, but in a good way, of course.
Impression now: I somehow love him even more. I still can't believe the writers just wrote him and Bobbi out because they were such great characters. He deserved to stay even just for comedic relief, because God knows the team needed a laugh sometimes, and so did we.
Favorite moment: When he shows up in prison to "talk to his client" in season 5. That was so iconic because not only was it a great entrance, but also such a relief to see a familiar face in that situation, especially if said familiar face has a hilarious dynamic with Fitz. That was obviously written for the fans, so I have no complaints. Honourable mentions to when he punches the guy from the ATCU without so much as a second thought, when he rants about Bobbi in 2.04 pretending he's not in love with her, and when he goes undercover as an obnoxious IT guy.
Idea for a story: This is not my idea, but I need to know what happened when he and Bobbi almost got married again between seasons 3 and 5. What do you mean "the ninjas showed up"? This had so much potential, but I think the fact that he never explained makes it funnier. Is it a weird metaphor for something? Did some ninjas actually attack them right before the wedding? Are the ninjas some friends who didn't think they should get married? We'll never know.
Unpopular opinion: I've seen somewhere that Most Wanted was a bad idea from the start, and I'm here to tell you that's wrong. I think it's a tragedy that it got cancelled, because can you imagine the potential? A spinoff of the best show on Earth? Our favourite problematic spy couple on the run breaking the law and causing problems? How is that a bad idea. Even if the script was bad and the plot was bad and everything was bad, it's still extra screentime for two awesome characters. If nothing else, we all know he would have had hilarious one liners, and I would have loved to watch it.
Favorite relationship: Huntingbird. Yes, I know he and Bobbi had a LOT of issues, but that just makes it funnier. Their bickering was on point, and the way he so was so obviously down bad for her the minute the words "demonic hell beast" left his mouth is so pathetic and hilarious. On a more serious note, the way they worked together as agents was great. While they may not have always trusted each other, they always had faith in the other's capabilities to do a good job in the field and stay alive ("Don't die our there"). They worried, sure, but they didn't try to keep the other out of danger Fitzsimmons style because they knew they could handle things, and for the most dysfunctional relationship of the show, that was pretty healthy. As for platonic relationship, Fitz. All they had in common was the fact that they were sassy Brits with serious relationship issues, and that was somehow enough to form a great dynamic. I loved all their little moments in 2.04, especially when Fitz talked about his crush on Jemma in the weirdest, most uncomfortable, and out of context way, and Hunter just went along with it and comforted him.
Favorite headcanon: At some point watching season 6 I decided it was stupid that they hadn't returned to SHIELD, so in my head they did. It just didn't make sense that they still had to live a life on the run when SHIELD was a legitimate organisation again, especially when the new director was their best friend who could have pulled some strings to have them there. It would have been so cool to see them again, not to mention it would have been very helpful for the team. And can you imagine Hunter's reaction at seeing Sarge? If anyone could have added some levity to the situation, I know it's him.
Writing this made me remember how much I love and miss him. Please send me more!

I come from a place of sheer curiousity and I just wanna ask genuinely- you say that you're a fan of 13s/ the chibnall era. Why? Doctor who is my favourite show and I've connected with every incarnation deeply and immediately, but have never been able to "click" with 13, despite my best efforts. What is it that you like about her? What is it that you like about chibnalls writing? I want to know and I want to like her/it too, but as of right now, I just... don't. Obviously you're not obligated to, but can you explain why?
Ok so this ended up being a Long Post, so I'm putting my response under the read more. Also I'm assuming you've actually watched the Chibnall era up to The Power of The Doctor, if you haven't then heads up for spoilers and stuff that might not make much sense without context.
Oh and I'm gonna @ @rearranging-deck-chairs and @ssaalexblake because I see their DW opinions all the time and they're really good and they can probably give more nuanced answers on some things. (Idk how well I did on explaining why I liked some of them, and it really is up to personal preference on some things)
Thirteen herself:
There are a lot of reasons I like Chibnalls era, but one of the biggest ones out the gate is definitely Jodie and her acting in the role of the Doctor. I think the way she balances bouncy gregariousness with the colder more angry and mean aspects of the Doctor is great. She does this thing where she can just make her eyes go dead and then smile like it's a threat, like she's gonna bite, especially when going up against villains. It's great. And Jodie herself is a delightful person.
Beyond just physical acting choices, I find the thirteenth Doctors struggle between her anger and secrecy, vs her desire to connect and her joy at life very very compelling. She keeps this distance that's really interesting I think, where she's genuinely attached to and trying to be a friend to the Fam, but still trying to keep her whole past out of the deal, which doesn't work that well, as we see in s12 and Flux. She's surrounded by death and haunted by the knowledge of how little time she has with her friends, (Grace, and she just came back from bill) but she still wants and needs that connection, and she learns to live in the present a bit. I made a whole post about her final regeneration speech here. I love her arc a lot even if it hurts. Also she's such a horrible hypocrite about so many things, which also makes her a fun character to rotate in my head and study like a bug. I do see it as being on purpose, some people seem to think it's just bad writing that she contradicts herself but imo that's a big part of her character.
Chibnalls writing:
I personally like the timeless child plot because :
There are a lot of stories and ideas in the Chibnall era I like, and a lot more I find very compelling. Whatever your opinions on the writing (and I definitely have had a lot of critique for some bits), there were a lot of ideas introduced that were fun and interesting. One of the weaker points of the era IMO is having so much fun stuff set up, but only shallowly or quickly exploring it, and then adding more stuff on top.
A lot of things didn't get the exploration/screen time I thought they deserved (especially characterization and interaction/dialogue wise). But that just gives my brain more to chew on at the end of the day, and I do love what was done during the seasons itself, not just all the potential stuff.
1) I can connect with it, I know Chibnall was coming at it from a place of being an adoptee, but as a native person the story of a kid taken and raised into an imperial/colonial society, who had their history stolen and their body exploited to further that societies ends, hits very close to home.
And 2) I have a "everything is true at once" approach to canon and I think the more origin stories we make for the Doctor the funnier it is.
This era had a lot of repeating themes, ideas that showed up and we're explored in a lot of different circumstances, often with a rule of 3 aspect to it. One is themes of Empire and Exploitation. Particularly through the stenza in s11 (empire using up planets, introduced to us basically doing foxhunts for clout, but with People instead of foxes), the dalek specials, the Cybermen in s12, and Division/the timelords in flux (as well as the sontarans &co).
Within that there's the repeating motif of how by exploiting people or their beliefs for power the imperial power/bad guys sew the seeds of their destruction. From Tzim Sha using the Ux and them turning against him, to the Division being destroyed by the Ravagers, who they tried to use to get rid of the Doctor/the old universe (and the doctor and even the master going rogue in the first place). Hell even Kerblam! (I know I know) Has a version, where the AI system being used to do terrible things is the one to call the doctor for help!
Another standout are themes of breaking cycles, Ryan is estranged from his dad and was distancing himself from Graham, but they both put in the work and grow extremely close over their two seasons. He also chooses to leave the TARDIS when he realizes he's absent from his friend's lives and wants to be present. And the Doctor gets to break the cycle of exploitation that Tecteun started, when she meets a vulnerable being with mysterious power (the energy being from TPOTD) she helps it free itself, on a way she wasn't helped.
Individual character stuff:
Going again into more individual character stuff I love, I've gotta give it to Sacha Dhawan for being a fucking superb Master. His acting is bonkers amazing and he does a great job portraying the sorta huge personal crisis the master is going through, and externalizing via evil schemes. At the end of Twelves run we saw Missy try to be like the doctor, to get her friend back (and even succeed a bit) but end up dying for it. Now we come back to a master who died trying to be like the person they see as their only equal, and has discovered (wrongly) that they were never equal to begin with, that the doctor is so much more than them. So he tries to make her like him instead, and If she won't become like him and kill them both along with the rest of gallifrey, then he will become her properly this time (by body snatching), ruin her legacy, and die with her eventually (overtaking her in the same way his whole existance has now been caused/overtaken by the doctor in his eyes, because of her being the source of regeneration)
Also can we talk about the Yaz?? I've been dying to talk about Yaz!!! I love her a lot and I find her fascinating, shes probably my favorite companion based on just sheer amount of time spent Thinking about her. Her doctorification/character arc is so good
Yaz is into the travelling and saving the day lifestyle the Doctor gives her for the responsibility of it all, for feeling useful and capable and good. Her early characterization Monet's include her complaining about not having more interesting jobs as a cop because she wants responsibility, she wanted to be important and helpful (that's the entire reason she became a cop, to help people like she was helped when she was in a dark place, and she finds a better way of doing that with the Doctor). And she GETS THERE, narratively and on a character level, she spends three years on earth with her own companions! She co-pilots the TARDIS and can fly her herself! She saves the day when the master steals the doctors body! And most of all SHES EXTREMELY SAD AT THE END BECAUSE THE PERSON SHE LOVES DIED BEFORE HER!! JUST LIKE THE DOCTOR !! (ugly crying) (I could write a whole other post about thasmin, good and bad, but a lot of people have put it better than me)
Also, I'm a big TARDIS girlie, she has somehow ended up being one of my favorite characters in doctor who, and the chinball era does so much fun stuff with the TARDIS!! Different writers take different approaches to the TARDIS, and how alive vs inanimate, or how active vs passive she is. I think the Chinball era had something special in terms of the way the TARDIS was depicted, and I loved it a lot. We never really get to see past the control room but it's a gorgeous control room! And throughout the era the TARDIS just feels so alive, it's always humming and beeping and chirping, I especially love the moments when the lights change color to match the doctors mood (mostly to blue, for sadness, sometimes red to yell at that dalek that one time). And speaking of the doctor, starting with ghost monument thirteen has a bunch of sweet moments of banter or just ~emotions~ with the TARDIS. I genuinely teared up a bit when she entrusted the timeless child memories to the TARDIS,and before her regeneration speech when she asked the TARDIS to look after her. Because who can she trust with her past AND her future except her oldest truest friend.
I could add a lot more of specific things from the era I love (solitract my beloved) but I think this is getting long enough as is lol.
#doctor who#thirteenth doctor#chibnall#jodie whittaker#flux#timeless child#dw#also sorry about answeing so late i forgot this in my drafts lol

is Rock/Romeo different in the japanese ds cute?
(as someone who isn’t fluent) yea in jp romeo sounds like less of a bastard and more like idk. idiot airhead spacey naive kid? the jp version also takes him much more seriously as a love interest option which stresses me out a bit but it’s also cute
for the english version of DS and cute natsume sometimes added some arrogant douchey scum bastard zaniness to romeo’s lines to idk i guess try and match rock? (who has different speech habits / “role speech” in JP compared to romeo) and of course natsume also just handled a lot of DS lines Weirdly or Not at all
for example
the wedding vow
JP:「もう一生離さないよ♡ 」| “For the rest of my life, I’ll never let go!♡” (cute)
Natume EN: “I’ll never leave you. Heh heh.” (troubling)
the divorce fakeout event you get if you neglect your husband (the entire thing)
JP: romeo thinks you hate him and he’s sad because you don’t communicate, and says goodbye.. he comes back and apologizes and admits he never wanted to leave, he just wants to stay together and you head to sleep (all’s well that ends well)
EN: romeock thinks you hate him and he says “is it my looks? my gorgeous looks can’t be fading already, can they?!” when he comes back he’s like “i know you can’t be tired of my looks already. it must just be a phase. well time for some beauty sleep” (who the fuck said you were allowed back in)
other than stuff like that, in general i’m finding a lot of events make slightly to very more sense in japanese because often it feels like each line of dialogue was either translated too literally into english or they didn’t have context, so that also applies to romeo’s heart and random events especially later events / events after marriage / rival marriage
the entire yellow heart event didn’t make proper sense to me in english compared to japanese but one small silly example from it where (probably) no context translation made the scene 10x funnier is when he has his dramatic confession
in JP he realizes he may have hurt you by joking around and making up stories to hide his feelings and apologizes profusely. protag shakes her head no with a heart over it to be like “it’s okay <3”
in EN he asks “Can you forgive me…?” and protag does the same gesture. like “NO <3”
also neither here nor there but his relationship with Louis feels a lot more familial in japanese. in english i wanted to kick him out the window during the child discipline event. in JP it’s more silly… (i still want to kick him out the window but more affectionately…) she overall sounds a lot more idk timid in EN but in JP she’s rougher and teases and scolds him a bunch (good👍). she and her two NEET cats children are a very cute family imo
overall i find natume’s odd additions to the game incredibly funny and enhance the experience in their own way (by making it worse) and i enjoy the more bastardly creature but i also think the more serious and soft romeo is sweet. he still has a lot of “what is wrong with his brain” moments in both en and jp he’s just more douchey in english
#thank you for the ask <3#weird how this is the opposite of the impression i got from rock sosawl#there’s points where xseed definitely made him sound less skeevy than the jp version. especially the. added event#tho in both cases the dialogue was jazzed up for the english versions just in… different directions#natsume also made rock more of a jackass jock type in the english version of AnWL#like if your kid gets into studying he has this whole fear of them becoming a nerd#they also invented the ‘if we don’t make this farm work i might have to get a job. oh man! try harder please?’#same w gustafa’s version of that event. out of nowhere he says he doesn’t mind never bathing.#look as a rock apologist rock deserves slander as punishment for various crimes. gustafa did nothing to deserve his slander#my favorite natume oopsies in this game are the two chicken men#neither mick nor purple say anything like ‘i’m your chicken man’ in japanese. i especially don’t know why purple says it in english#asks#bokumono#rock tumbling (sos)#harvest moon#hmds cute

tumblr prompts too. You make me air out my 16 WIPs I get to get you twice (I did include outlines tho)
(it's 17 WIPs, j just haven't started the next chapter of Salvation yet)
You know what, Kraft Singles is in my tumblr prompt doc, so let me add a little excerpt from that
(and we're going in with NO context here, because it's funnier)
I also JUST realised that I forgot to add Rice Demon to the WIP list so gonna go do that right NOW
“Get this,” he said, plonking himself next to her. He was clutching something close to his chest, and she peered over, trying to catch a glimpse of what he was holding. “Did you know that Helluva Post will let people mail out individual slices of cheese?”
Lute blinked incredulously at Adam. Of all the ridiculous things he’d ever said to her over the years, this had to be one of the most outrageous.
“Excuse me?”
“Yep. Angel told me.” He let something drop into his lap, and she was horrified to see he’d been possessively clutching a handful of individually wrapped cheese slices. “Apparently, even though they’re not shelf-stable, they’ll still let you post them.”
Gingerly placing her paperwork down onto the coffee table, Lute pinched her nose between her thumb and forefinger. “Adam. Why?”
He grinned at her and reached over to grab the black marker from her lap. “Why the fuck not? I’m gonna send everyone here one. See if it works.”
“Adam, I don’t want your cheese mail–”
“Babe, just think. This could really take off. Maybe Charlie could start sending these out as, I dunno, ways to entice people to the hotel.”
Lute looked to the sky and exhaled. Why? Why was she being punished? What had she done that was so wrong, she deserved to deal with Adam’s inane ideas born out of total boredom? Maybe if he got a fucking job, this would never have happened.
She made a mental note to schedule a meeting with Charlie. Surely there was something he could do.
“I don’t think it’ll work,” she said slowly, standing up and placing a kiss atop his horned head. “Just… try not to be too disappointed if they come back with ‘return to sender’ stamped across them. And,” she added, narrowing her eyes at him. “Make sure you write ‘do not eat’ on them. We do not need food poisoning spreading throughout this place.”
He was already damned to an eternity in hell as it was.
“Yeah, yeah,” he waved his hand at her impatiently. ‘Don’t worry, babe. I got this under control.”

✩‧₊˚ Let's Get Confused!!! :D ✩‧₊˚
(Star Message 01 - 05 React-os!)
1) Wait, so you're telling me that Blade's storytelling put kids to sleep???
That's quite odd!
I mean, yeah, a lot of what he was saying was confusing the kids. But I would think that, with how animated Blade was being, it would still be entertaining enough to keep them awake. 🤷♀️
It's funny how polite Olivine is being about it---spinning it into a positive outcome. Bless your little heart!
2) Uh-oh! My workaholic wife is back at it again! 😂
My mans really does overwork himself...
If I were the Captain, I would've forced a ton of vacations onto him, too! :D
I personally can't really relate to this side of Edmond's personality---the obsession with his work. I'm the kind of person that has had to do way more work than I was comfortable doing in the past, to the point that my personal life was non-existent, but as soon as it wasn't necessary to have such a large workload I didn't push myself to keep up that insane schedule.
Edmond, on the other hand, has just gotten so used to constantly working, that at this point it's difficult to stop...
Maybe it's because he had that sort of schedule for even long than I ever did, since he's a noble? That, combined with his natural integrity/work ethic?
3) Eiden out here validating the fans' comments about the space-appropriateness of their clothes---
---and Blade giving a very reasonable explanation---
I like to think the the tailor also has a devious mind, determined to bring out the maximum sexy-potential of each project they receive (even if their "added elements" will require them to do an additional wardrobe-change later)!
It's also very possible that Eiden's collaborations with them have tainted their formerly-innocent tastes...
😈😈😈😈😈
4) Edmond, sweetie---no offense, but HOW is this any more scandalous than your usual outfits??? 🤨
Is it because your stomach is showing?---No, that can't be it, because the ceremonial clothes in his Knightly Night SSR show his stomach.
Is it because your shoulders are bare?---No, because the shirt in the prison guard outfit of Vigilant Observer is sleeveless...But then again, perhaps the guards are expected to keep that jacket/overshirt on over the sleeveless shirt, so maybe that really is the reason???
I AM CONFUSION!!!
EDMOND, PLEASE EXPLAIN WHAT YOU CONSIDER "MODEST!"
It is quite nice seeing Blade and Eiden being so supportive to Edmond, tho.
They see him feeling a little uncomfortable, and Blade immediately reassures him [of the clothes' utility] while Eiden hypes him up. It's so sweet!!!
5) Blade and his not-at-all worrying ideas °❀⋆.ೃ࿔*:・
Can I just say---I LOVE the fact that Edmond takes Blade's question seriously.
I (along with many other fans) see Blade as strong representation for neuro-divergent individuals; and IRL, many such people act "eccentric" or ask questions that people think are "silly/weird."
So, Edmond taking Blade seriously---just like he treats everything/everyone seriously---without getting angry or annoyed is such a delight! We love to see it!
6) I love it when Blade hops into Robo Mode at the most unexpected times!
It's funnier when the situation is less serious than this, but hey, I still enjoyed it!
Also, the voice-acting bit during this part was fantastic. Blade's voice sounds so cool!
7) Blade, honey---are you telling me you can catch a FUCKIN METEOR all by yourself????
BRUH.
I knew he was built to be a hella-strong sorcerer-murderer robot, but putting his strength in the context of earth-science terms makes it even more insane.
8) It's quite impressive how nonchalant blade is being about all of this... (ᵕ—ᴗ—)
Like, he and Edmond just stopped a FUCKIN METEOR from crashing into the tower and killing people, and he's over here cracking little jokes!
What a legend!
9) So, as soon as I saw this---
---for some reason, I immediately thought of this;
Which is a fine and dandy meme, but I'd say that Blade is completely justified in his assumption that the thingy from the sky is alien tech; it isn't a crackpot theory, an thus, I wouldn't say this meme is completely applicable... But maybe I'm just being too picky with my meme-etiquette. :D
10) Wait, so this isn't even the first time that "starscape creatures" have sent a message to Klein?
🤨🤨🤨🤨🤨
But from what I've gathered so far, the message is just supposed to be a sort of audio message---so how does he know about what kind of environment the starscape creatures live in???
Does the audio talk about where they live??? Do they speak the same language as they do in Klein, or is it somehow possible to interpret the alien language when given no context/prior exposure to that language????
11) Rei, no offense, but you kinda suck at explaining things....
Seriously.
WAT? ∘ ∘ ∘ ( °ヮ° ) ?
Am I just stupid, or did Rei just say the same thing twice but in different ways?
I can't be the only on that doesn't get it, right?
Would this make more sense if I knew more about audio transfer, or like, how radio works???
12) *Voice dripping with sarcasm:*
Oh boy, how reassuring! 😂😂😂
I know for a fact Rei is perfectly capable of making people feel better, but I guess he ain't feeling very charitable right now! (Which, I would think he would be, since they brought him an interesting new thing to research...)
★ End of report! ★

Big Reputation, Big Reputation
Sorta a sequel to this post. More below.
You see, they would probably change the colour that her hair fades into, depending on what song she reappears in next, but honestly the hot pink is too iconic to me now.
I’m surprised at how quick i finished this one. Like whenever i start and finish something in within 24 hours it looks off, but this a one actually looks good for how quick i did it.
I cut off the shoes because i didn’t want to finish them (i hate drawing shoes). The mesh part of the body suit was done by creating another layer, filling in the necessary parts with grey, using the noise tool to make it look like mesh, and making the layer a medium layer and lowering opacity.
Am i still salty about Reputation Taylor’s Version not being announced at the end of the Europe leg of the tour? Yes, so this is how i cope. It’s so funny how every other era got more than one outfit, and now the tour is almost over and this bodysuit is still the only reputation outfit in the tour. Speak now has like ten just for Enchanted. Granted it is a really cool bodysuit. At the end of time when everything is just dust floating through space, the reputation bodysuit will somehow still be intact just floating through the void. What I’ve learnt is that the rep bodysuit isn’t leaving anytime soon.
This is funnier in context with the Kapyy Vigilante shit piece i made, since in that i just headcanon that Talia keeps a bunch of these outfits in her wardrobe lol. Adding on to that, she doesn’t remember why she bought them, maybe for a party or something but otherwise she can’t remember.
What if i just keep doing this and put more coaches in the era’s tour outfits? Like i genuinely can’t even think of anyone. Maybe Sara in the yellow blue 1989 combo, but otherwise i can’t think of any other ideas.
Bonus doodle that takes place after the previous post’s bonus doodle:

2023 post round-up/summary
Lovely @twig-tea tagged me here, so I'll try my hand.
I'd abandoned tumblr for about 4? 5? years 2016ish through 2020, had a short stint with it again in 2020, took peeks and vehemently disagreed with much of what I saw in 2021-2022, and grudgingly settled back in in 2023. I wasn't going to interact. I wasn't.
Jan-April: *crickets* I was being strong!
Then, I saw people moaning about how they'd learn Thai if only it was on Duolingo, and you know how spite can be funnelled into positivity? I did that! Result:
May
Popular: Free Thai Language Learning Resources, most popular by a landslide. This pleases me greatly, as I put a lot of work into it and always hope more people start picking up this language.
Favourite: maybe my thoughts on Ming, piggybacking off @kenmakaashi's post?
June
Popular: my musings on translation and how it relates to fannish reception of media, which was my most popular post of the year and 'broke containment', if only in a very small way. Some of the additions in the tags and reblogs are fantastic, do go have a look if you like!
Favourite: toss-up between my attempt at showing a parallel between a silly moment in Our Skyy 2 x BBS and a scrapped shot from BBS proper and this rant about Romanisations of Thai and why G**gle translate is the devil (that bit is in the conversation downthread), which let me meet @plantsarepeopletoo.
July
Popular: Summary of James Welker's 2006 essay "Beautiful, Borrowed, and Bent: “Boys’ Love” as Girls’ Love in Shōjo Manga"
Favourite: the offerings are slim here … let's go with the one in which I once more was salty about the way folks talk about BL
August
Popular: Only Friends' Ray isn't just The Drunkard, but also The One Who's basically Given Up On Himself, as per his title card (this one was so popular it got stolen and reposted – without credit or permission – to twitter 🙃)
Favourite: Thinking about Drama, the Romance genre, and tropes, and how those relate to our perception of BL (good additions from various folks in the notes; conversation with @visualtaehyun in reblogs and @twig-tea in the replies).
September
Popular: IFYLITA Ep 6 poem context notes
Favourite: toss-up between complaining about badly machine translated content in Love in Translation and musing on the name of Khun Yai's favourite bar
October
Popular: my long-winded answer to @zimmbzon's ask "Hi, how would a non-binary person (me) get around the binary gender rules and vocab in Thai?"
Favourite: uhhh … maybe my musings on honorific translations in kimi ni wa todokanai? (yes, technically a reblog from sideblog, shh)
November
Popular: most popular was this throwaway therapy vent containing food for thought and while I guess this meme is mostly fannish I'm linking it anyway because it's my blog and I'll cry if I want to (or something)
Favourite: when I called out the resemblance between the Last Twilight trailer and Intouchables (2011). Literally no one cared, but then @my-rose-tinted-glasses independently came in strong with receipts as soon as the actual first episode aired and made me feel validated af.
December
Popular: Why I'm pretty sure Last Twilight's "fried rice/false rice" joke was funnier in Thai
Favourite: the saga of the songs in Ep 4 of Last Twilight
I didn't do any round-up posts, but I'll include the other category @twig-tea added:
Five other posts that I want to highlight because I can:
BL Favourites Tag Game (July 2023)
Link to fujoshi.info with information on WHY you should check out that site if you're interested in having an informed opinion on BL and the genre's history.
contemporary issues in Thailand as mentioned in Only Friends ep 1
Thoughts on code-switching in Step by Step
Reply to @mynameisnotthepoint's comment-via-ask on my anti viki rant
I'm not going to tag anyone because I'm completely lost – I was mostly off tumblr for nearly three weeks; if you made a post like this you'd like me to see, please link me/tag me! <3

im terribly bored and not doing well so im scraping the bottom of the barrel for entertainment which means i am watching the incorrect quotes video.
trying to be objective i think they’re fine, i think i don’t find them as funny mostly because ive seen them many times so i know the punchlines, which isn’t their fault. with the ones i do not know the punchline i do smile a bit. and for like half of those i do think “oh yeah this is something they would say”
anyways that’s a lukewarm take not worthy of writing a whole post about, im actually here to complain because ive been listening to the magnus archives (literally just finished the third episode of season 5 before watching this) and that quote about the cows i just :/
i don’t know if the problem lies in thomas’ execution or in the concept of incorrect quotes or in the choice of the quote by the fan or anywhere else but i’m upset.
i do like incorrect quotes, they can be funny and they’re not always the destroyer of literary comprehension some people make them out to be. like anything from fandom, it’s not great if you only see the characters through that lens and people will reduce characters to overused tropes and will project stuff that isn’t even close to canon on them but the fault of that is, i think, mostly on the people doing it and not in the concept of incorrect quotes or shipping or headcanons or whatever. incorrect quotes can be fun and can suck just like anything else. i mean they’re not the same a shipping because at least with that the purpose sometimes is to enrich the story or the understanding of the characters while quotes are just there to be fun. but i think it’s fine to have something that’s just for fun.
the problem is that to do them smartly you have to be careful, because taking something from one work to the other might not be as easy. many times the joke relies on pre-established stuff like character traits or relationships or world building which you didn’t really notice when seeing/listening to it in its original source until you picture it with new characters. it has happened to me that i think i can make something into an incorrect quote and then realize that it just doesn’t work. and some people do not notice this or think that it’s fine cause they assume the person reading the quote will know the original source and will be able to make the relevant associations.
and then add the layer of translating a quote from media like tv or film or audio into writing, (which often causes some quotes to be bad because the original relied on visual context or the delivery, the timing, the sound effects, etc), and then on top of it all we have thomas only seeing the quote written down and interpreting it back into acting.
he did a good job i think in the first incorrect quotes video because his performance added to the quote. it was funnier with his voice and acting than written down. i assume he doesn’t go watch/listen to the source of the quote before interpreting it, and im not sure that’s really a necessary thing, but that disconnect can definitely make the final result even messy sometimes. when it’s quotes from like brooklyn 99 and parks and rec and such it’s mostly fine because they’re short dialogues made to be comedic by themselves and that’s what this type of show is absolutely full of. but with other things, especially works from other genres you gotta be careful.
anyway that’s all to say that “obviously i’ll tell you if i see any good cows” means so much to me and carries this… emotional weight due to its context.. and you just can’t slap any random character names on it and call it a day. at least that’s what i think.
it’s not just about the cute idea of “seeing good cows”, its the love in that quote that is so. subtle and rare and unlikely within the terrible circumstances the characters are in. the domesticity and fondness is a soft sliver of comfort after the previous episode and before that big ending of season 4. it’s lovely and sweet and domestic while enveloped by previous, present and future loss and pain.
it’s NOT a character who is being treated as some kind of himbo telling another character (with huge arm gestures) “yes OBVIOUSLY i’ll tell you if i SEE any Good Cows 🙄🙄🙄 pssht”
it’s not about the cows 😭 does that make sense? 😭
#ts criticism#thomas sanders#am i just looking for stuff to complain about? absolutely#can i do that because it’s my blog and i chose what to do with it? absolutely as well#will i delete this post in a day or less? maybe

Another one for the totally-not-a-secret books.
Okay, so the context for this is that Vogue Thailand shared this MileApo prepping for the show video on their IGR earlier. 😂 Please go give it a watch/link/comment there if you have IG
Um, it's pretty obvious it was the same room which makes them opening the door twice even funnier 'cause it looks super suss 🤣
So:
Even obvious aside from the fact that's Mile, if there was any doubt, it's his outfit but Apo's suitcase under the bed.
BUT! That being said, I actually am not convinced by this they shared a room. It may have been a practical decision to let them get ready together in the same room, and also the lighting may have been better in Apo's room. For example, P'Mos was there to do both their makeup and we also know they shot the Srichand live around the same time and were already together in robes. But I guess the Vogue Th team wanted it to look like they were each in their own rooms?
Mile had also posted this IGS from his own hotel room. To destroy the delulu about this: the walls of this room are green (LOL) and the bed setup is entirely different. But, to bring back the delulu, @yilingbee pointed out Mile is entirely on the left side of bed and there is more than enough room for a second person beside him 😛
The third pragmatic possibility is it's a space set aside filming, likely the way this product placement in KPWT was, where it looked like they were staying in a room with a single hotel bed 😂 All the fans were laughing about how everyone else got single twin beds like kids whereas MA were sharing a king sized bed like the parents.
looking back, most likely this room was booked specifically to shoot this Giffarine ad which still haunts me to this day because why did Giffarine put them in fluffy robes so it looked like they had sex and then took a shower together and then put on skincare afterward we all know that's not what happened but LITERALLY EVERYONE WAS THINKING IT IT WAS SO INTENTIONAL AND IT WORKED
But then Mile shared this there was one bed (if you squint) photo on his alt IG later which was even more incriminating.
As always, draw your own conclusions! 😂 I just present some facts (and have a little fun).

It's frustrating to see those "lesbians date each other's exes all the time" posts in regards to r0nance because they just ignore Robin as a character altogether. Just because a lot of lesbians have insular dating pools and do end up dating friends' exes, doesn't mean this lesbian would! Also it ignores any context from the show with how stancy ended, as well how Robin pushed stancy together in S4 and Steve's feelings for Nancy were reawakened. That changes the way "dating a friend's ex" is seen because it's not an ex from almost two years ago he's gotten over, it's an ex he still has feelings for that Robin herself encouraged him to pursue. Robin is her own person and that means she's allowed to decide Steve's friendship and potential feelings are more valuable to her than the possibility of a crush. No one is saying Steve would tell her not to, but a lot of people are saying Robin wouldn't want to.
I feel like so many ronancers don't see Robin as an interesting character herself but instead as a gay woman to ship Nancy with to get her away from those "icky" men, and disregard both their characterizations to do so.
it really is frustrating!! literally they ignore everything about Robin's personality to just make her a lesbian. because apparently all she's good for is her sexuality and nothing else. which i don't want to praise the writers but a good thing about the storyline with robin is that they allow her to be a character then added in her sexuality. she's smart and willing to jump into danger for her friends then we learn that she's a lesbian. they don't make robin a sexuality - they make her a character. Honestly this is why ronancers saying "steve fans treat robin like a sidekick to steve" is even more frustrating. because we see her as a character but all ronancers see is a sexuality. also it's even funnier when they're excuse is "robin is her own person" because do they even see robin as a person?
GOD YOU'RE SO RIGHT!!! just because some lesbians have a small dating pool doesn't mean robin does! robin cannonically is showing interest in another girl that is interested in her but most people think that in order to be progressive you have to get rid of men and robin can date steve's ex. like no robin is showing interest and somebody else is showing interest in her - HER DATING POOL ISNT SMALL ANYMORE! lol sorry this is long rn but I want to get every aspect.
literally it ignores canon and you're so right like it's not a person dating their friend's ex of two years. it's robin knowing that Steve has feelings for his ex then going to date his ex WHO ALSO IS IN A RELATIONSHIP!! it's wild to me how people blame steve in season 4 for telling his feelings to nancy when she's dating someone but they don't apply that with ronance in the slightest. just shows that they hate steve and the ship is only to spite steve while not caring about any of these characters. LITERALLY ROBIN WOULDN'T WANT TO BECAUSE THAT'S HER CHARACTERIZATION!!
that last statement is everything and I agree whole heartedly
