So let me tell you what they do when you’re human and your RBC (red blood cell count) reaches 4 g/dL
1) you are required to report to the hospital for emergency blood transfusion. They did not call me; they called my emergency contacts, because apparently I should not have been driving
Drove myself to the blood test 15 hours before but shhh don’t think about that
Cuz yeah, 2) the lab calls directly
It doesn’t go to your doctor first
You get the call from the lab tech, the second the test has been run. Literally, my doctor was told after we were, because Time Is Of The Essence
I, bad at being up at 8am, kept trying to go back to bed. This was not permitted
3) you get your ass put through the ER at lightning speed, I have never gone through faster including for the chest cramps that I could not stop screaming through
Still haven’t been rushed in with an injury as opposed to chronic illness fucking me up though, so ymmv
I felt significantly better with the extreme anaemia, I was just tired and bad at stairs
I did not even believe I needed to be at the hospital that urgently (literally my dad didn’t wait for me to get dressed he got me out of bed and in the car)
4) they don’t wait for a bed they stick your ass in a chair in the hall it’s fine lying down is optional but blood is not
This may be due to it being the day after New Years, when a lot of people have made the poor hospital very busy from both Christmas and the new year
This is why it is Extra Bad when the local hospital is so underfunded they close their ER doors for the entire month of December and reopen January 3, Doug Ford
5) you get at least 600mL of new blood, sharpish. That’s two bags, and the Standard Blood In Speed is 4 hours per bag and the fastest they’ll go if you haven’t had a transfusion before.
Do not let them put the fucking needle in your hand because those veins are small and require slower speeds but lying bastards will tell you it won’t
They are lying
If you have had a transfusion before and were Good At Blood, you can get it at double speed so each bag only takes 2 hours and you aren’t in the hospital all day on your birthday
Unless aforementioned lying bastards put the needle in your hand, in which case double speed is the same 4 hours as Standard because they are dicks
You can listen to most of 20, 000 Leagues Under The Sea in 8 hours. Receiving blood transfusions does not enhance the experience
It may in fact be detrimental
6) the nurses will not believe you when you come back in 2 weeks after your first transfusion because you have noticed you’re having the same symptoms as the time you were RUSHED WITH ALL HASTE
The hospital will then do their own blood test to decide if they take you seriously, realise your RBC is now 6 g/dL as opposed to a healthy 12-16 g/dL, and suddenly move much faster
Pointing out you were there two weeks ago and they should already be seeing the old test results in your medical history does not help
7) noticeable symptoms of such severe anaemia include hot flashes, for which you should acquire ice cream sandwiches
Ice cream sandwiches are great for short hot flashes 10/10 recommend
Mint flavoured even better menthol tastes like cold
Tl;dr: blood is apparently underrated and you do in fact need a lot of it super urgently
Also red blood cells on their own live about 2 weeks and if your RBC goes right back down after that your bone marrow is no longer making red blood cells
You will not be able to tell where any of the buggers have gone because your RBC can get down to 4g/dL without any blood actually exiting your body so they’re probably re metabolised
#medical shit#red blood cell count: apparently very important#medical#doctors#hospitals#seriously never take a transfusion through your hand if you have a choice#also bring a friend#letting the patient escape to acquire own snacks is in fact frowned on#anaemia#they fixed my bone marrow it’s fine now#i’m just not allowed on imuran#nor are 14-35% of other people#cuz i get all the weird or reverse side effecta#woooooo me

'Hey, look at me,' Felix spoke. You looked over at him, your hands still fidgeting with the straps of your bag sitting on your lap.
Felix had insisted on taking you to school today, as Minho had already left, having to arrive early to be on time to prepare for the lessons he had to teach that day. Minho hadn't said much, and you were sure he was the only one who was as doubtful about the entire situation as you were. When Hyunjin had left your room, he had returned to Han, continuing to monitor him and relieving Felix from his post. You had gotten ready far too slowly, your head still going back and forth between believing and trusting in Hyunjin and the urge to run back into Han's room. By the time you were done, Minho had already left. You knew you had been slow on purpose, hoping that being unable to catch a ride with Minho would give you the excuse to stay home. Somewhere you suspected that that was why Minho hadn't announced his departure, nor given you a heads-up and final call like he usually did. You suspected he too would prefer it if you were to stay home with Han, even if it would hinder your academic success. But Han wouldn't have it. When Felix had left his room it seemed like Han had given him a mission of making sure you would get to school today. After checking your bag for the umpteenth time, pretending you weren't sure if you had packed your favorite pen, notebook, and charger, Felix was starting to lose his patience and urged you out of the house. For the entire drive to school, you sat beside him silently, fiddling with your bag nervously as you kept imagining Han's pale and sick face.
Felix gave you a kind smile.
'We've arrived,' he said simply. You looked out the window again, seeing the familiar building, with many people coming and going to and from the entrance.
'Right,' you said, quickly opening the door and jumping from your seat.
You heard the other car door open and close, and as you were about to take a step towards the school, Felix halted you. He rested his hands upon your shoulders and turned you to face him, hands not leaving you.
'He'll be alright by the time you get home,' Felix assured you, repeating Hyunjin's words.
'How do you know?' You asked, insecurity lacing your tone. Felix sighed.
'Trust Hyunjin. He knows what he's talking about. I know it's scary and all, one of us being sick for the first time, but I'm sure he is right. There is no doubt in my heart that his diagnosis is incorrect. So trust him,' Felix urged.
'I do but…' you began, hesitating for a moment, 'but how can he look like that, be so sick… just because of.. love… is it… it's… because of me, right?'
'Oh baby,' he said with a chuckle, taking you into his arms and hugging you tightly.
'None of this is your fault, and no one could've ever seen this coming. We only just found out too, even Hyunjin had a hard time placing his finger on it,' Felix said in a comforting tone.
'But how can he be that sick?' you pressed on worriedly. Felix let go of you, putting his hands on your shoulders once more and looking at you warmly.
'We might be gods, but we don't know everything, you know,' he said with a chuckle. 'Honestly, I don't know why he is as sick as he is, and why he is the only one,' Felix admitted truthfully, looking thoughtful, 'but I know illnesses and I know they can affect different beings in very different ways, even if they are the same species. Besides, it's what Hyunjin always says; the power love holds over all things is severely underestimated. I've seen many pets miraculously cured of diseases that I personally had diagnosed and pronounced terminal, just because of the love they got from their humans. Mind you, of course, that's not for every pet, and that doesn't mean they don't get enough love but-' he added, but seeing your face he quickly stopped and cleared his throat. 'Anyhow, what I was saying is that, as Jinnie always persists, love has more power than we realize and works in mysterious ways.' Felix ended.
'He will get better,' you said, stating it to convince yourself.
'He will get better,' Felix said definitely. 'And he is already getting better as a matter of fact. Just when you left I noticed his heartbeat seemed to be getting back to normal and even his color and scent seemed to be slowly returning to its original state,' Felix said seriously but with a smile.
You nodded.
'Now, no more dawdling because Han will give me an earful, as soon as his voice is recovered, if I do not get you to your next lesson on time,' he laughed. You couldn't help but chuckle a bit at his remark. He let go of your shoulders, and one of his hands took hold of your chin.
'Can I see your pretty smile one more time before you leave?' he asked sweetly. You smiled for him, a real smile and a bit of warmth seemed to return to your insides. 'That's my baby,' he grinned. He bent towards you, planting a soft kiss on your lips before withdrawing again. You could instantly feel yourself blushing. 'Just making sure I won't get sick as well,' he teased. You pouted at him and he winked, letting go of your face and waving you goodbye as you walked up to the school.
'WHYYYYYY are you not just addicted to your phone like the rest of us,' an irritated voice spoke. Before you could look around, you were being jumped, an arm around your neck pulling you into a headlock.
'Sera!' you said her name, laughing but trying to get free.
'No! I told you I would kill you when you'd get back, so get it girl,' she laughed, rubbing her hand over your hair and messing it up. You squealed and giggled, trying to get loose but she wouldn't let go until she was satisfied.
'There,' she said huffing as she let go of you, putting her hands on her hips and looking at your messed up hair proudly, 'totally killed your vibe.'
'I guess I had it coming,' you chuckled, trying to flatten your hair again with your hands.
'Yes, you did. And after my lecture yesterday, you still didn't react to my messages this morning,' Sera said, tutting and shaking her head like a disappointed parent.
'Oh, shit, Sera I'm sorry,' you said, quickly pulling out your phone and checking it. You indeed had quite a few unread messages. Sera sighed but smiled.
'It's fine,' she said, waving her hand dismissively. 'I'm just happy you're here and you're fine. Wanna have lunch then?' she asked, pointing with her thumb over her shoulder in the direction of the cafeteria. You nodded.
'Where's Adam? You asked her, looking around but not spotting his blonde hair anywhere.
'Class,' Sera said simply, pulling up her nose and shrugging.
The two of you made your way to the cafeteria, chatting about her weekend. By the time you got seated and started eating, the conversation slowly shifted to your weekend.
'So erm, how did your weekend end?' Sera asked, suddenly sounding apprehensive. You looked up, a feeling of suspicion instantly upon you.
'Why do you ask?' You said, slightly sharper than you had intended to. Sera looked away for a second. You could see her chewing the inside of her cheek thoughtfully for a second, an expression on her face that seemed almost doubtful.
'I…' she began, pausing for a moment, then hesitantly continuing as she straightened her back, 'I incidentally saw you arriving this morning. My class was boring and you just happened to be right outside of my window,' she added quickly, hesitating and pausing again. 'I saw you with some guy- a different one I mean,' she said meaningfully, 'Don't get me wrong,' she quickly added, putting her hands up. 'I mean, I just,' she said, her face suddenly becoming quite pink. 'I'm a curious person, okay?' she insisted, her cheeks blushing and nervously scooting over the bench. You could feel yourself holding your breath. 'It's just- I'm normally very good at reading people, but you… You're different. Good different though! Not like I think you're an alien or something,' she giggled nervously. You had never seen Sera like this before. You knew her to be a confident person, resolute. But you wouldn't be thrown off by her behavior, holding your mouth shut and keeping a face of steel. 'It's just, you're a bit unlike other girls our age you know. As I said, for one, you're not addicted to your phone and stuff,' she said, smiling awkwardly and pausing again. Then she suddenly sighed. 'Uhg okay, I'mma just come out with it,' she said suddenly. Your heart felt like it stopped.
'Are you poly?'
'Wh-What?' you asked, blinking.
'You know, polyamourous. In more than one relationship. Like multiple boyfriends,' she pressed on, looking eager now. You scanned her face. This was what she had known, what she had been asking about, hinting at, fishing for. It hadn't been about you, or your divinity, nor the boys or their powers. This was all.
You suddenly started to laugh, unable to help yourself. The apprehension, caution, and fear instantly slipped away from you. She could be trusted. It was safe. You knew. Your Goddess knew.
Sera looked at you uncomfortably, probably slightly startled by your burst of laughter and still waiting anxiously for you to respond.
'I'm sorry,' you chuckled, seeing her stressed face, 'I know what it means, it was just really unexpected that you asked,' you began.
'I'm so sorry,' Sera said quickly. 'I shouldn't have jumped to conclusions, it's just, people and relationships really interest me and I might've watched just one too many dramas and-,' she rattled but you quickly cut her off.
'No Sera, it's fine,' you said as you stopped chuckling and gave her a reassuring smile. You were sure you could tell her. You could see her light now. See it was dim like the other humans, but pure and safe. 'Yes. Yes, you're right,' you answered her question.
Sera looked at you with big eyes and slowly a smug smile appeared on her face.
'I knew it! I swear I fucking knew it. Adam wouldn't listen to me. I mean he doesn't know, I didn't tell him, I was just fishing for information, but that boy can't take a hint,' she said, shaking her head and rolling her eyes. 'But ever since I saw you with Mr. Hwang and then when you left with the other guy at that birthday party,' she said, giving you a meaningful look that told you she had known what you and Minho had been up to back then, 'and then the others. I mean I swear every single time was coincidental okay. It's not like I'm some weird creep who's spying on you, but it just turned out that way, honestly. I wasn't sure if I should say anything because you weren't saying anything and-' Sera babbled on. Clearly, she was completely in her element.
'Well, it is kind of an awkward topic to talk about I guess,' you said truthfully. She instantly shut her mouth and looked at you.
'Oh shit, sorry. You want me to shut up?' she asked quickly. You shook your head smiling.
'Nah, it's fine. Actually, I think it would be nice finally being able to talk to someone about it, to be honest,' you said truthfully.
'Oh thank god, good. Okay,' she said, bending over to you eagerly, 'gimme all the deets.'
'Well, erm, I don't know where to start,' you said, frowning, thinking.
'Okay, so I figured it's at least four or something right?' she said eagerly.
'Erm, eight actually,' you admitted.
'EIGHT?' she exclaimed loudly, her eyes growing big. You kicked her under the table.
'Shut it!' you hissed but giggled, 'I mean I'm fine with you knowing but I don't need the whole school to know.'
'Right, right, right, sorry,' she said, rubbing her painful shin but still looking eager. 'So I guess that means it's all of your roommates then, isn't it?' she asked. You nodded. Sera mouthed a silent "Wow".
'But eight? Really? Isn't that like,' she raised her eyebrows meaningfully and continued in a whisper, 'a lot of work.' You felt yourself blush and she wiggled her eyebrows, leaning back in her seat, your change of color apparently giving her enough of an answer.
'You know, good for you,' she said, putting her hand up in an okay sign and looking smug. 'I mean I can't even deal with one knucklehead now and then, but eight… Pfft kudos to you,' she chuckled.
'Don't you… find it weird?' you asked, feeling awkward yourself now as well. Sera raised her brows and this time it was her turn to laugh at your question.
'Honey, you're asking an adopted pansexual girl with an interracial lesbian immigrant couple as parents. Nothing is weird to me,' she shrugged.
It was hard to believe she really didn't think it was weird, but she seemed to be more curious than judgemental regarding the situation.
The rest of the break she spent bombarding you with eager questions about your relationship with the boys and the dynamics in the house.
By the time the bell rang for your next class, Sera wasn't done asking questions yet.
'I really have to go to class now,' you laughed as you saw Sera racking her brain for another question she could ask quickly before you'd go. Sera pouted.
'You know you can always text me, right?' you chuckled as you got up from your seat and gathered your belongings.
'It's not like you'd answer anyways,' Sera said sticking her tongue out at you playfully. You laughed and were just about to turn around when she grabbed your arm.
'Wait!' She said quickly, sounding eager.
'Wha-hat? I have to goooo,' you said impatiently as many others were leaving.
'Let's go on a double date!' Sera suggested enthusiastically.
'I-what?' you said, taken aback by her question.
'A double date. Or, wait, what do you call it when it's with multiple people? Okay never mind,' she said quickly when she saw your face. 'But please, let's do it. I swear it'll be fun! We can get to know each other, make friends,' she suggested. When she saw your doubtful face she continued. 'Come on, I bet you've never been able to go somewhere on a date with all of them. I promise we'll pick somewhere busy, that way you won't stand out too much.'
You hesitated. You had been to places with all of them, of course. But never really on a date…
'We could do the funfair! It's always super crowded and no one will notice, trust me. The weekend after next? Saturday at eight. We'll meet you at the entrance.'
Before you could object, Sera grabbed your hand and shook it before running off with the leaving masses, leaving you behind slightly bewildered.
You blinked a few times and then chuckled. Sera was unlike anyone you had ever met. But it was nice having a human friend with whom you could be more open and trusting. It'd be nice to feel normal for a bit.
Minho was already standing by the car, waiting to take you home from school. Seeing him from a distance made your heart pound faster. Not just because he always looked so dashing in his brown suit, gray hair, and glasses, but because you were a little scared. He had been sweet to you this morning like he always was, but you had failed him as a goddess. You know how much he treasured you and knew how much you being his goddess meant to him, and you were scared he'd be mad at you for what you had done, or more so the lack thereof. You also knew how much Han meant to him and what it would do to him to see Han so sickly. With all of these thoughts swirling in your head, you took a deep breath and walked up to him.
You were slightly surprised to see that the dark circles around his eyes seemed to have almost disappeared. He looked healthier somehow, even though he'd had a long day of working.
'Hi Lino,' you said with a small voice as you approached him. He gave you a smile and a curt nod, holding the door open for you as you got into the car, but he didn't say anything.
During most of the drive, he was silent, and your heart started to sink again, lower and lower with every silent minute that passed by.
You were just about to say something, anything to break the silence. An apology or any words that could comfort him, tell him you were sorry and would never forgive yourself for what you had done when he suddenly spoke.
'It's not your fault you know,' he said suddenly and softly. You looked over at him somewhat startled. This was the last thing you expected him to say.
'I-what?' you said, feeling dumbstruck.
'You know it's not your fault right?' Minho repeated. 'None of us could've ever seen this coming,' he elaborated. You were silent for a second.
'But it is my fault,' you whispered, looking down at your lap, your heart sinking once more. Minho clicked his tongue.
'If you really wanna blame yourself, go ahead, but know that we don't,' he said simply. 'Honestly, we blame ourselves for not realizing what a mess we are without you,' he added softly. You weren't sure how to respond. You felt quite sheepish, staring out of the window, looking at the streets you passed by. 'We should've known we can't be without you anymore... And we should've called you to come back,' he said, then suddenly he clicked his tongue angrily, smacking his hands irritably against the steering wheel. 'I should've never listened to him!' He said with a sudden intensity, his eyes straight on the road. 'I begged him to call you, but he wouldn't let me. I could barely convince him to let Felix check him out. I don't know how Felix managed to convince him to let Hyunjin check on him as well…' Minho said, grabbing the steering wheel hard until his knuckles went white. You looked at him in shock. You couldn't remember if you had ever seen him so angry. 'He should've just let me call you,' he repeated with clenched teeth. 'It would've never gotten as far as it had. I know he's fine now, but he looked like dog shit,' he grumbled. His anger seemed to die down and he sighed, putting on his blinker and taking a right turn.
You were surprised with Minho's anger, which seemed to be directed at himself. This was not what you expected. You suddenly realized that the look on his face was nothing but a mirror of your own feelings; disappointment, annoyance, and anger, all directed at himself. You wanted to help him, to comfort him, but how could you, as you had no way of stopping yourself from feeling the same way.
'He's doing better now?' you repeated with a small voice, a lame attempt at making him feel better even though you barely did.
'Yeah, he is,' Minho said with a nod. He sounded calm again. You could see him straightening his shoulders and letting out a quiet sigh, as if to breathe out his feelings, before he started speaking again. 'He called me during the break and he seems to be back to normal again,' he said.
'He called you?' you asked, feeling hurt that Han hadn't contacted you in any way.
'Yeah, video call. He looked quite normal again, so don't worry about it, okay? It really wasn't your fault,' Minho said once more. But his words simply made you feel shittier. The fact that Han hadn't contacted you broke your heart. Was he angry with you? But Minho said they didn't blame you, even though you did yourself. Why hadn't he called you? Why?
'Han?' You knocked on his door softly, but there was no response. You knocked again, calling louder this time. Still, no response. You sighed, withdrawing your hand from the door and turning around. But just when you were about to take another step, you changed your mind. You knew Han was in there. You were sure. And according to all the other guys, he was doing fine now, almost like nothing ever happened. And Minho had assured you he wasn't mad at you, although you were mad at yourself. But you knew your heart would not be at ease until you saw him.
You turned around to face the door again. Maybe he was asleep. Maybe that's why he hadn't answered. You could imagine he hadn't slept too well for several days and now that he was better, it might've finally caught up to him.
You weren't one to go into other's rooms if they weren't there. You never really snooped, nor entered without their permission. But this time you didn't care. You had to see him for yourself. You had to be sure he was doing alright.
Slowly and quietly you turned the handle, opening the door to peek inside.
Han was sitting on his bed, his back turned to you as he seemed to be staring out of the window.
'Hannie?' you said his name softly, scared to startle him. He turned his head towards your voice but stopped halfway, showing he was listening but not responding, nor looking at you.
You bit your lip and walked over to him, but as soon as you got close to him he turned his face away from you. You stopped in your tracks, hesitating for a moment. No, you need to talk to him. Pushing through your anxiety you went to sit next to him on the bed.
'Hannie?' you said, repeating his name in a steadier voice this time. He still didn't look at you. You needed to make contact. You could feel your inner Goddess, like she was tapping you on the shoulder, asking you to give her space. You took a deep breath, in and out, and opened your mind.
Although his light shone bright, there was a certain dimness to it. Carefully, you took his hand into yours, caressing it with your thumb.
'I am sorry, Hannie,' you spoke softly, 'for letting you down. For not being there, and not doing my duty properly as your goddess.'
Finally, he turned his face to yours. His green eyes looked at you incredulously.
'How could you say such a thing?' he whispered, shaking his head and frowning. He grabbed the hand that you had used to stroke his tightly with both of his hands. 'Don't you ever say that again,' he said almost angrily. 'Don't you know how it hurts us when you are hurting?' he spoke.
You gave him a sad smile, squeezing his hands for a moment. As Minho had said, he hadn't blamed you for a second.
Suddenly he let go of your hands and turned his face away from yours again.
'It's me…' he whispered suddenly. 'I am the problem… I am… weak.' He said the words painfully, clearly disgusted with himself. It broke your heart. Tears welled up in your eyes.
'Don't you ever say that again,' you repeated his words back to him, your voice trembling with the pain you felt for him.
Han simply huffed, his eyes still locked on the floor. 'You know it's true y/n,' he said bitterly. 'I am weak. I was the only one who got sick, the only one affected so ridiculously. None of the other boys were even close to… my state of being,'
'But they were all sick,' you stopped him before he could continue. 'They told me none of them were feeling right. Everyone was unwell in their own way. Maybe you just didn't see because-'
'-Because I was the sickest of them all?' Han interrupted you. He scoffed. 'Yeah, like I said, none of them were close to being as "lovesick" as I was. Clearly, I am the weakest of the bunch,' he said angrily. 'I mean, I guess I've always known it. I mean look at them, look at their cool powers. Lino being time itself, Chan taking care of souls, Seungmin making this planet liveable, Hyunjin making life worth living. I mean I could go on, but it's clear all their powers are way cooler and way more important than mine. I mean what do I do? I talk to plants. So what? Big deal. Nothing cool or sexy about it. I should just-'
'Han Jisung!' You said his name so loudly and suddenly that he jumped. He instantly turned his head to face you once more, looking at you with big watery green eyes. You had never used his first name with him. From day one he had always been "Han" by his own request or "Hannie" since it sounded like the pet name "Honey" which he enjoyed. 'I won't allow you to talk about yourself like that,' you said sternly. Han simply scowled and was about to look away again when you grabbed both of his hands tightly and continued talking.
'You are everything,' you said to him slowly in a lowered voice, the words now coming from your heart. A small crease appeared between his brows and you continued. 'You are every breath we inhale and exhale. You are the light that keeps us warm and the shade that shelters us. You are the water we drink and the blue skies that we see. You are life,' you said insistently and seriously. You could see Han's jaw tightening, a habit he adopted from Chan. 'You are all of the others, as they are you. And without you, they wouldn't and couldn't be.' Your voice almost turned into a whisper and you paused for a second. You knew he was listening. Not just him, but his aethereal self. You could see how his light responded to your words. But his pained expression and self-doubt weren't gone yet.
'Without you, I wouldn't be,' you whispered to him, softly squeezing his hands. His face started to relax somewhat now. The painful knot in your chest that seemed to mirror his own lessened, even though your watery eyes weren’t dry just yet.
'Hannie,' you said his name once more, his sweet name that you loved to speak so much. His lips quivered for a moment. 'I can still remember back when I wasn't aware yet… The first time I saw your gift…' you said, the words suddenly feeling so emotional that they were hard to speak. 'I remember seeing you, just through the crack of the door, seeing you make that beautiful flower bloom,' you pointed over your shoulder at the plant on his drawers next to the door. 'It was the most beautiful thing I've ever seen,' you whispered as a tear rolled down your face. Han looked at you, his brows slightly raised now, as his eyes were filling with tears too.
'You give life, Hannie,' you said, letting go of his hands and catching a tear on his cheek with your pinky finger. 'How can you forget that?'
'I-I haven't, I just-,' Han stammered as more tears fell from his face.
'You don't have to be cool or sexy. You don't have to be strong either,' you added. 'You just have to be you. You have to remember who you are, what you are. Don't let those human emotions get in your way of knowing how special you are,' you said, shaking your head.
Han nodded in response. The tears that were falling from his face seemed to contain the darkness that was covering his light. You looked into him, seeing his light shining brighter than ever as he softly smiled at you. You smiled back at him and sighed deeply. Your goddess retreated into the shadows once more, knowing that the job was done. You lean over to him, putting your forehead against his, noses aligned and touching. You felt yourself breathing in his scent, and the tears in your eyes finally seemed to dry.
'I've been such a fool, my love,' Han whispered. You smiled softly, your heads still touching. 'I let envy and frustration overtake me. You're right. I guess I forgot who I was there for a moment.'
You slowly withdrew your face from his, smiling at him and seeing him smile at you.
'It's okay Hannie, that's what I'm here for,' you said kindly to him.
'I know, but still, I was acting a little dramatic I guess,' Han said with a sheepish grin, scratching the back of his neck awkwardly. 'Having a human part of us sometimes is a little-' he spoke, but suddenly stopped. He turned his head away from you, looked at the door, and frowned. He blinked a few times, then turned his head again, looking at the wall that was separating his room from Minho's. Han raised an eyebrow.
'Han? What is happening?' You asked, feeling apprehensive. Han put up a hand to silence you as he stared at the wall for another second before he looked down at the floor. He scoffed for a moment and then suddenly started laughing.
'Han what-?' you asked again, getting kind of concerned now. But he wasn't listening.
'No way,' he whispered to himself, getting up from the bed, and, for a moment, totally seeming to forget you. He walked a few paces, still looking down, before stopping again and chuckling once more. 'No way!' he laughed before looking at you again with a wide grin.
Startled by his unexpected reaction, you pulled at your goddess for help, but you instantly felt that it would be no use as if you had used up all of your credits for the day. You got up too now.
'Han, what-?' you repeated taking a few steps before it suddenly dawned on you. Han still didn't respond but simply grinned at you. 'Oh,' you breathed. Han simply nodded, understanding that you understood.
WRITERS NOTE
Thank you all so much for your continuous support. I understand that you had to wait for a long time but I simply have too little time to write.
I try my best to write when I can, and your encouragement, kind words, and fun reactions really make me happy<3
However, I'd like to ask some of you to please understand that rushing or pushing me won't make things go faster and will only make me feel bad :(
I have been working on this series for over two years already, and I am currently working on Chapter 50 (!).
Although I really do love this story, it has been quite difficult, tiring, and time-consuming work (for me as well as for my lovely editors) at some times. I love writing a lot and I post this story for free on multiple platforms because I want everyone to be able to enjoy reading this for free as I too know all too well what it's like to have no money to spare for your hobby or favorite artist (life is expensive ya'll, I know that)
So please, if you enjoy my story, give it a vote or a nice comment, and trust that I will come back with a new chapter for you to love, even though it might take longer than you'd like (trust me, it takes me longer than I would like as well).
Please remember, that creativity cannot be forced or rushed.
Once again, thank you all so much for all the love, votes and comments, and trust that I will be back with more. I appreciate every single one of you <3
Lots of Love
Dolly

Unfortunately, we have a tendency to look for differences and to classify people in categories, we determine who isn't worthy to participate in church or to receive God's blessings. This is the opposite of what we're called to do.

Six Months Since
By Shoshana bat-Yehonatan
A poem for the six (Hebrew) month anniversary of the Simchat Torah Massacre. With thanks to the JPS, Koren, Metsudah, and other translations on Sefaria.org. Footnotes link to sources of quotes. Footnotes connect to sources which will be in reblog, because otherwise it's too long to post.
TW: RAPE
Six months has it been
Since the fields turned red without flowers
Now calaniot bloom where once my darlings danced
But still, my precious ones are gone.
I have no prophets to comfort me
No visions from God [1]
My king remains in exile [2]
How can I sing a song of God on alien soil [3]
In an alien tongue?
Yet I have been too long a stranger in a land not mine[4]—
Two thousand years, to a paltry hundred and twenty—
And I forgotten even how to speak the Holy Tongue
Let alone write in it.
I have neither wit nor words to sing my grief.
And so I turn to those before me
As they turned to those before them
And say,
“God, open my lips, and let my mouth declare my grief.” [5]
Oholiva cries [6]
And Ohola wails [7]
This year was pregnant[8] with a second month of joy
Instead she wails in travails unending
“When will my children return?” [9]
Oh wall of Fair Zion [10]
Shed tears like a river [11]
Cry out in the night and pour your heart out like water [12]
Rachel’s eyes are red as her sister’s [13]
As she weeps over the fate of her children [14]
Six months it has been
Since they ravaged women in Zion [15]
Maidens in the towns of Judea [16]
Since their hands tore my princes apart
No deference shown to elders [17]
On this day six months ago
My infants were taken captive before the enemy [18]
The joy of our hearts was seized
And our dancing turned to mourning [19]
For the youths are gone from their music [20].
Now my eyes shed rivers of water [21]
Over the ruin of my people’s daughter [22]
Bitterly I weep in the night [23]
My cheeks wet with tears [24]
There is none to comfort me: my friends have betrayed me [25]
I cry:
Behold my agony! [26]
My priests and my elders have perished in the city [27]
The elders strewn like dust on the ground [28]
Those whom I dandled and reared my foe has consumed [29]
“This is the day we hoped for! We have found it, we have seen it!” [30]
My maidens and youths have gone into captivity! [31]
“It is your doing.” [32]
Blood on her legs, her nakedness seen, [33]
Zion reaches out for comfort [34]--
“Away! Unclean!” [35]
She can only shrink back and sigh [36]
“May it never befall you.” [37]
The nations have resolved “They shall stay here no longer” [38]
We wander and wander [39]
But where are we to go?
How can I bear to see the destruction of my kindred? [40]
“My life as my wish, my people as my request,” [41]
I begged my Husband [42]
“For we have been targeted, my people and I, to be destroyed, massacred, and exterminated.” [43]
But the King turned His face from me.
My dear ones were purer than snow [44]
Ruddier than rubies or coral [45]
Their bodies lovely as sapphire [46]
Now their faces are darkened with ash [47]
Unrecognizable amid the ruin of the streets [48]
See, God, and behold to whom You have done this! [49]
Look at me, answer me, Oh God! [50]
How long will You hide Your face from me? [51]
I have no prophets now to comfort me
And must take my comfort from those before:
You promised “God will restore your captives.” [52]
Return them, God, and let them come back [53]
Renew our days as of old. [54]

As someone who’s the go-to prospects blog in my mind, do you have any thoughts on Aron kiviharju dropping to the fourth round? The video the Wild shared after he got drafted is soo interesting to me
"Let me tell you one thing, man; you just made the biggest steal of the draft. I promise you that."
29/06/2024 - The Minnesota Wild draft Aron Kiviharju 122nd overall
Aron Kiviharju was supposed to go 1st overall.
Can you be a bust before you ever get drafted? Can the narrative miasma of going 1st overall linger on someone who went 122nd?
Kiviharju’s first game report from the 2024 EP Draft Guide is dated November 24th, 2019. He was 13 back then. According to them, no other player in EP's database — nor in any other draft guide this year — has had scouts' eyes on them so early, for so long. They say he understands the game beyond what's reasonable for a player his age, that he's always excelled while playing above his year level, that even though he's small and light there's something special about his game. Singular, elite, a phenom. This child is the next big thing. He is 13, 14, 15, he is anointed Boysaviour before his voice has cracked.
How many times have we heard this story before?
One day, Aron Kiviharju will be competing with and against players his age. And when that day comes, it might feel a bit odd for the defenceman. For years, ever since Kiviharju was young, he has played up a level, or two, or three. At age 13, he was playing U16 hockey with TPS Turku and, this past season, as a 15-year-old, he started with TPS’ U18 team before moving on to the U20 club. His numbers – 30 points in 35 games – would be deemed impressive for a 19-year-old forward, never mind a young defenceman who only turned 16 in January.
Steven Ellis' article on Kiviharju for Daily Faceoff, early September 2023, broadens the scope of public scrutiny even further:
Time travel back to 2022, and you'll find his name is printed right next to some familiar faces from this year's draft: Macklin Celebrini, Cole Eiserman, Berkly Catton, Ivan Demidov — except, they're all listed as possible challengers to his assumed throne.
And then, the accident.
The glaring flag on Kiviharju's draft profile, and across every report, every interview, and article since is the reality of his stalled potential. A scout’s job is to project a player’s future, but progress is rarely linear. What might halt a once-promising player's progress? Injuries and global pandemics and a poorly managed season or two; these things don't care for destiny. For every realised prodigy there are a dozen more who will fall short of expectations — this is something you pick up fast reading backdated draft guides and sifting through the history of the NHL.
In Kiviharju's case, the dislocated kneecap and the skate cut to the throat are the things most will write about. Behind the scenes, however, there were evidently other factors that contributed to his drop to the 4th round.
You see, every time I think I've escaped it, the size issue comes back.
The belief remains, however, that larger is better. I’m understating just how much it pervades hockey discourses: it’s present in scouting reports and has had measurable impacts on drafting; I hear it on professional and amateur hockey podcasts; it’s thrown out casually during interviews by coaches and fellow players. I can’t read or listen to anything about Faber without stumbling across it — the preoccupation with size. I’ll be very clear here: I’m not reading anything malicious from specific people, I’m not accusing anyone of crimes, and in no way am I implying that ice hockey is unique here. Just the opposite, in fact. I know professional sports hinges upon producing stars, that the commodification of young bodies is endemic to the business. Those stars are, stripped down to the basest definition, workers who perform with their bodies and sell their labour, whose bodies will inevitably be coveted and revered for their adherence to the Platonic Ideal of their respective crafts. For men’s sports, there’s something extra on top of the commodification of children’s bodies — it’s the vernacular of near-fetishistic worship; of the masculine, the oxymoronic youthful-but-mature, the virile. The language used to praise Faber and other young d-men like him has my stomach twisting in a discomfort that I find hard to quantify — players, coaches, and the media all talk about him, and the hockey blinders slip. He’s a “workhorse”, a “stud”, he’s got “a man’s body” — and call it projecting, call it reading too deeply into innocuous statements, but the closest thing I can compare it to is hearing my AFAB body spoken about as an object whose value can be reduced to its function, its usefulness, its closeness to sexual maturity.
Excerpt from the last time I wrote about a Minnesota d-man (sensing a pattern here).
Kiviharju probably would've dropped some places regardless of his injury and missed time; that's where the league is trending right now in terms of draft preference. When you're small, every mistake is amplified by your lack of size. You must be twice as skilled, faster, more consistent.
p. 595, The 2024 Elite Prospects NHL Draft Guide
Kiviharju's media appearances read like someone who is haunted by his draft stock despite his assertions otherwise.
Kiviharju's bold proclamation, caught on GM Bill Guerin’s hot mic, that the Wild just got "the biggest steal of the draft” will likely be associated with Kiviharju's rise — or perhaps his fall — as Minnesota media and fans work at their mythmaking. I don't know if I want to care about some hockey myths anymore. My appetite for them sours day by day. These myths were started by the eyes and hands and mouths of people watching a boy of 11 play hockey, who witnessed him and salivated at his unwritten future. Part of me thinks: I don't want to be complicit in their continued weaving — though I know I will be anyway.
I read what he says in the lead up to the draft and it's like he's telling himself as he tells us; that he will not care, because he is worth more than this.
From Kiviharju's draft day interview, transcribed by me:
Q: What's the biggest thing you learned about yourself going through the rehab process? AK: Kind of like... it's — life is more than hockey. Hockey is the biggest thing for me. I love the sport. I will do this for the rest of my life, for sure. First playing it, then probably I will continue with hockey after my career, so I've been always thinking like that, and I'm still thinking like that, but it's just that it's — more. Life is more than just hockey, there's a lot of things. And there's a lot of different things about myself, kind of like when you don't — if hockey is my fuel and I'm a car and I'm 200 days without getting any fuel, we have to find some new ways how to get that fuel, to keep my car going. - Q: How has your cut healed since U-18's? AK: Yeah so (he gestures to the cut right below his jawline) that was a pretty close one, but thank God we're alive. That's what I kind of meant when I said that this life is more than just hockey. So first you're 200 days without playing hockey and when you come back your first game the World Under 18's a skate cuts your throat open, so it's very close calls, and that's when you remember that this is only hockey.
Whatever happens, I want Kiviharju to hold on to this. Don't get me wrong, I'm rooting for him. In so many ways, he fits the archetype of players I enjoy. I want him to make it to the show and blow everyone's expectations out of the water and bring Minnesota the Cup. I love this team, even if I rarely post about them. Even still, whether he shoots into stardom or he washes out of the NHL, it doesn't fucking matter. It's only hockey.
And he is more than his ability to live up to our myths.

As You Judge, So Shall You Be Judged
1 “Stop judging, that you may not be judged. 2 For as you judge, so will you be judged, and the measure with which you measure will be measured out to you. 3 Why do you notice the splinter in your brother’s eye, but do not perceive the wooden beam in your own eye? 4 How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me remove that splinter from your eye,’ while the wooden beam is in your eye? 5 You hypocrite, remove the wooden beam from your eye first; then you will see clearly to remove the splinter from your brother’s eye.
Pearls Before Swine
6 “Do not give what is holy to dogs, or throw your pearls before swine, lest they trample them underfoot, and turn and tear you to pieces.
The Answer to Prayers
7 “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks, receives; and the one who seeks, finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened. 9 Which one of you would hand his son a stone when he asks for a loaf of bread, 10 or a snake when he asks for a fish? 11 If you then, who are wicked, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give good things to those who ask him.
The Golden Rule
12 “Do to others whatever you would have them do to you. This is the law and the prophets.
The Narrow Gate
13 “Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the road broad that leads to destruction, and those who enter through it are many. 14 How narrow the gate and constricted the road that leads to life. And those who find it are few.
False Prophets
15 “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but underneath are ravenous wolves. 16 By their fruits you will know them. Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? 17 Just so, every good tree bears good fruit, and a rotten tree bears bad fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a rotten tree bear good fruit. 19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 So by their fruits you will know them.
The True Disciple
21 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father in heaven. 22 Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name? Did we not drive out demons in your name? Did we not do mighty deeds in your name?’ 23 Then I will declare to them solemnly, ‘I never knew you. Depart from me, you evildoers.’
The Two Foundations
24 “Everyone who listens to these words of mine and acts on them will be like a wise man who built his house on rock. 25 The rain fell, the floods came, and the winds blew and buffeted the house. But it did not collapse; it had been set solidly on rock. 26 And everyone who listens to these words of mine but does not act on them will be like a fool who built his house on sand. 27 The rain fell, the floods came, and the winds blew and buffeted the house. And it collapsed and was completely ruined.”
28 When Jesus finished these words, the crowds were astonished at his teaching, 29 for he taught them as one having authority, and not as their scribes. Matthew 7 | New American Bible Revised Edition (NABRE) New American Bible, Revised Edition © 2010, 1991, 1986, 1970 Confraternity of Christian Doctrine, Inc. Masterpost
This is a comprehensive masterpost linking to every chat I've translated in chronological order. Here are however some things to know before you proceed :
↳ I do this in my own free time, and I'm not being paid to do it. I pitched this idea randomly at 1AM on my other sideblog on a whim, and I'm still making this on a whim. ↳ Neither English nor Korean is my first language. I am however fluent in both. I'm only mentioning it in case one of my translations completely misses the mark. I can't be perfect all the time, lol. ↳ I'm doing this in real time. I don't have anything backed up, which means that I'll have to go through the entire game from the beginning and translate each chat as they go. Please understand that I might not be able to update this blog every day and that it's likely going to take a while. ↳ Translating from Korean to English is tricky. Some things are bound to still get lost in translation despite my efforts. I'll have to take some liberties at some points to keep the meaning intact if translating word-for-word makes it hard to understand. ↳ I am not going to be translating every possible answer with every possible outcome. I'm crazy enough to take on this project but I have my limits, lol. The version I'll be posting is the one from my own game, with the answers I pick to get to the good ending. These may not be the "canon" answers, but there will be enough of them to get the good ending. (Also ! I will add a "♥" whenever there's an answer I give that Jumin likes.) ↳ However, I am open to translating other interactions in the game, even if they aren't in Jumin's route. As long as they involve him, it's fair game. Anything he says that makes you stop and think "wait, that's weird", just ask and I shall deliver (I've done every route except Yoosung's. It's likely that I'll be able to find the Korean line in my own game, but in case I don't, you'll have to send it to me.) ↳ Since this is meant to be about Jumin, I'll only be translating the chats, calls and story modes that concern him (if a character talks about him in a chat he's not in, I might also translate it if I think it would give more insight on Jumin's character overall). Tackling the ENTIRE thing will drive me insane, lol.
Thank you for your patience and support.

November 21
Psalm 119:64 The earth, O Lord, is full of thy mercy: teach me Thy statutes.
Acts 20:35 I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.
John 12:24 Very truly I tell you, unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds.
1 Samuel 16:7 But the Lord said to Samuel, “Don’t judge by his appearance or height, for I have rejected him. The Lord doesn’t see things the way you see them. People judge by outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”
Mark 5:19 And he did not permit him but said to him, “Go home to your friends and tell them how much the Lord has done for you, and how he has had mercy on you.”
Psalm 51:1-2 Have mercy on me, O God, according to Your unfailing love; according to Your great compassion blot out my transgressions. Wash away all my iniquity and cleanse me from my sin.
May you earnestly desire the privilege of dwelling in the house of the Lord, abiding in His presence, surrounded by His glory, ministering to Him, for just as the temple had many private chambers for the priests, so Jesus promised that in His Fathers house are many rooms, which He has gone to prepare. Ezekiel 42, John 14
May you put away any thing which receives the portion designated for and claimed by God – any thing or any one to whom you give worship and complete surrender, devotion above all others, thanksgiving and praise for what you have, confession and repentance for forgiveness and cleansing – for only as you remove from the throne what you have placed there and give to God that which belongs to God, and to the world that which belongs to the world, will the Lord come to live and abide with you forever. Ezekiel 43
May you know that the goods and wealth which can be hoarded will not be of use when you truly need it in the day of the Lord, so owe no man any debt except the debt of love, and let good works, done in obedience to the Father, lay up true riches suitable for eternity and appropriate to offer the King. James 5
May you be patient until the Lord's coming, just as the farmer waits for the land to yield its crop, waiting for the rain in due season, standing firm because His arrival is near, not grumbling against each other, for the Judge is already at the door. James 5
May you be blessed as you persevere in patient suffering for righteousness sake, as did the prophets who spoke in the name of the Lord, for you have heard of Job's perseverance, and have seen what the Lord, full of compassion and mercy, finally brought about. James 5
May your speech be plain, without embellishments, that you may not dishonor your Head and that men may know that you are walking in integrity. James 5
May you turn to God continually each day, conversing with Him, listening to what the Spirit says, in all states, whether you are in trouble and distress, or happy and full of praise, or ill in body or mind and needing the support and strength of the called out ones, for the prayer offered by faith in the name of the Lord will make the sick well and bring the sinner forgiveness as you confess to, and pray for, each other for healing through the powerful and effective prayer of righteousness in Christ. James 5
May you remember that whoever turns a sinner from the error of his way will save him from death and cover over a multitude of sins. James 5
My child, I call you to work, not to idleness. It is a sacred work that I assign you, one for which you have been shaped and formed by My Hand, trained and equipped by My Spirit. It is not a work you can do in your own strength and skill, nor one that you can accomplish with your own strategies and wisdom. If you begin to feel you have been given an impossible task, My dear one, then you are beginning to truly see and hear what My Spirit is speaking to your heart. It is when you feel a dread inside and a concern that you have bitten off more than you can chew, when you start wondering if you were wise to promise to follow Me where I would lead you that I can begin to truly use you in My work. That is when, in desperation, you will begin to lay aside the useless tools of man and the worthless wisdom of the world and come to Me in humility, asking for My wisdom and seeking to find My strength in My Word. I rejoice to receive you at the time you feel the most worthless and the least valuable, for I can only use an empty vessel, not one filled with self-confidence and influenced by other agendas. Empty yourself, My precious one, and receive My infilling; seek Me early for your daily bread and wine and oil, then go in My strength and joy and glory to fulfill My commission, returning empty but obedient, having gone forth bearing fruit and returning bearing the harvest.
May your ways be undefiled, upright, truly sincere and blameless as you order your conduct and conversation according to the revealed will of God, for you shall be blessed, happy, fortunate and to be envied. Psalm 119
May you seek the Lord, inquiring for and of Him, craving Him with your whole heart, for those who keep His testimonies and statutes will be joyful, blessed, happy, and fortunate. Psalm 119
May you walk in the ways of the Lord that you will do no unrighteousness or willful wandering from His precepts. Psalm 119
May you keep the precepts of the Lord and observe them diligently as He has commanded, fully obeying them for the joy set before you. Psalm 119
May your ways be steadfast, directed and established, in hearing, receiving, loving and obeying His decrees, for then you will not be put to shame by failing to inherit His promises, when you have respect to all the commands of the Lord. Psalm 119
May you praise Him and give thanks to Him with an upright heart as you learn by sanctified experiences His righteous decisions against and punishments for particular lines of thought and conduct, for He will not forsake you utterly as you obey His decrees. Psalm 119
May you take heed to and keep watch on yourself, conforming your life according to His word, that you may cleanse and keep your way pure. Psalm 119
May you seek the Lord with all your heart, inquiring for and of Him, ever yearning for Him, that He will not let you wander, stray, or step aside, willfully or in ignorance, from His commands. Psalm 119
May you lay up His word in your heart that you might not sin against Him. Psalm 119
May you declare and recount with your lips all the laws and ordinances that come from His mouth, praising the Lord as He teaches you His decrees and statutes. Psalm 119
May you rejoice in following His statutes as others rejoice in great riches. Psalm 119
May you never forget or neglect the word of the Lord, but delight yourself in His statutes, rejoice in His decrees, and meditate on His precepts, having respect to the paths of life marked out by His law, as you consider His ways. Psalm 119
May you be discerning enough to prefer being a poor person who walks blameless in his integrity rather than a rich man whose ways are perverse, gaining his wealth through double-dealing. Proverbs 28:6
May you be a discerning child of God who heeds the law of the Lord, not entertaining companions who serve worthlessness. Proverbs 28:7

Allah calls Himself Al-Ghaniyy—The Self-Sufficient, The Independent— on eighteen occasions in the Quran. He is the one without need of anything. Al-Ghaniyy is self-sufficient, free of any dependence, and rich— while all of His creatures stand in need of Him!
The Independent, The Wealthy, Self-Sufficient
Ghaniyy comes from the root ghayn-noon-yaa which points to four main meanings. The first main meaning is to be self-sufficient and independent and the second to be free from needs or wants. The third main meaning is to be satisfied and content and the fourth to be wealthy and rich.
This root appears 73 times in the Quran in five derived forms. Examples of these forms are aghnaa (availed), yughnee (benefits, avail) and istaghnaa (considers himself self-sufficient).
Linguistically, ghina is used to refer to the concept of independence because of being self-sufficient. The opposite is faqr, which refers to poverty, being in need. Faqeer is used to describe a poor person. In reality no one is in absence of need of Allah ‘azza wa jall and everyone is dependent on no one other than Him. Therefore Al-Ghaniyy is the only One who truly transcends all needs, is completely satisfied, and the One upon whose wealth, riches, and blessings all others depend!
Al-Ghaniyy Himself says: But if you disbelieve – then to Allah belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. And ever is Allah Free of need and Praiseworthy [Quran, 4:131] …And whoever turns away – then indeed, Allah is the Free of need, the Praiseworthy [Quran, 60:6]
True Praise Belongs to Al-Ghaniyy
In the Quran, Allah ‘azza wa jall combines His name Al-Ghaniyy ten times with His name Al-Hameed (The Praiseworthy). For example, the believers are instructed to spend of their wealth in charity, however Allah ‘azza wa jall is far Richer from needing their charity, but the purpose is that the distance between the rich and the poor becomes less. [Tafseer ibn Katheer]
Of whatever is given, it is the piety behind it that will reach Al-Ghaniyy, as He reveals: It is neither their meat nor their blood that reaches Allah, but it is piety from you that reaches Him. [Quran, 22:37]. Whenever a believer gives in charity with a sincere intention, he should know that Allah is the Most Rich and He will reward him for his charity and multiply it many times. And complete praise and thanks is to Him, as no one can do Him a favour, for everything is His own creation and invention!
How Can You Live by This Name?
1. Don’t let wealth distract you.
No matter how wealthy you are, good-looking or of good career, remind yourself Who is the real owner of everything.O mankind! You are the poor ones in need of Allah, where as Allah is the Rich Beyond Need , the Praiseworthy. [Quran, 35:15] So use your money, power and position to please Him only.
2. Thank Al-Ghaniyy.
Whenever anything of wealth comes your way, for example a promotion through work, a financial gain, or anything of benefit to you, make sure the first thing you do is to thank Al-Ghaniyy and to ask Him to aid you to use it wisely and make it a source of barakah (blessings) for you. Musa said: If you were to be ungrateful, you and everyone on Earth, Allah is Rich Beyond Need, Praiseworthy. [Quran, 14:8]
3. Be content.
The Prophet salallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam said: Richness is not having many possessions. Rather, true richness is the richness of the soul. [Al-Bukhaaree] Remind yourself that the highest degree of wealth is contentment with the decree of Allah ‘azza wa jall. Strive for ridaa, which means you are satisfied with whatever Al-Ghaniyy gives you or withholds from you as this is the ultimate key to the tranquility of your soul.
4. Don’t beg or ask from others when there is no need.
The Prophet salallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam said: It is better for anyone of you to take a rope and bring a bundle of wood over his back and sell it, and Allah will save his face because of that, rather than to ask the people who may or may not give. [Al-Bukhaaree] As a Muslim you should strive to not burden other Muslims or be lazy and inactive.
You should never ask from others just to increase your wealth. The Prophet salallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam warned: Whoever begs from the people in order to accumulate wealth, it is as if he is asking for a live coal, so let him ask for a little or a lot. [Muslim] The Prophet mentioned three cases in which it is allowed to ask the help of others: in case of repaying debts, when a calamity has stricken and all your wealth is destroyed or when one is stricken with poverty and three trust-worthy persons can testify for this. [Muslim]
5. Ask Al-Ghaniyy.
Use the beautiful and comprehensive supplication of Musa ‘alayhi sallam while realizing your need of Al-Ghaniyy:
رَبِّإِنِّيلِمَاأَنزَلْتَإِلَيَّمِنْخَيْرٍفَقِيرٌ(28:24)
My Lord! Truly, I am in need of whatever good that You bestow on me! [Quran, 28:24]
6. Give of what you love.
When you give charity there are two very important instructions: only give from halaal wealth or belongings and don’t give what you would dislike for yourself. Ibn ‘Abbas radiayallahu ‘anhu mentioned as reported in tafseer Ibn Katheer: Allah commanded them to spend from the purest, finest and best types of their money and prohibited spending from evil and dishonest money, because Allah is pure and good and only accepts that which is pure and Verily, Allah is far Richer than you, He is in no need of this money, so do not give, for His sake, what you would dislike for yourselves.
Giving of what you love is something lost in our modern day, individualistic society. How many times do we give away old, even broken clothes in charity? Al-Ghaniyy knows you best. Reflect on this crucial statement: By no means shall you attain Al-Birr, unless you spend of that which you love [Quran, 4:92] So give away something you love yourself and you will feel the effect on your heart!
O Allah, Al-Ghaniyy, we know that You need none and all need you. Make us recognize our poverty in front of You and always make us thankful for the wealth You bestow on us and aid us to use it for Your sake. Adorn us with contentment with Your decree and make us of those who give away of what they love, ameen!

I rewatched Loki (and got progressively angrier), here are the highlights:
(featuring my queer analysis/rewrites hehe)
Episode 1
22:03 - “if looks could kill” Mobius ab and to Loki
22:05 - “What do you want from me?” “Well, let's start with a little cooperation.” “Not my forte” “really? Even when you’re wooing someone powerful you intend to betray? Come on.” Mobius and Loki - GAY
24:35 - “I am smart.” “I know.” “okay…” “.. okay” actual weirdos
Episode 2
5:13 - Loki ‘reading’ Mobius’s jet ski magazine hehehehe
14:03 - “Look, I know you have a soft spot for broken things.” Ravonna to Mobius as he talks about why he should be allowed to keep Loki alive
16:30 - Loki adjusting Mobius’s tie as he talks about how ‘adorable’ it is that Mobius thinks he can manipulate him, because hes a freak
24:34 - “Loki, i've studied almost every moment of your entire life” Mobius literally what is with you
24:53 - Pompeii scene my beloved
Episode 3
7:16 - “don't ever call me that” “Tech savvy?” “no, a Loki.” Sylvie and Loki silly funny sibling behaviour
22:15 - “You’re a prince. Must’ve been would-be-princesses or perhaps, another prince.” “A bit of both. I suspect the same as you.” ah the beloathed line that haunts my nightmares
31:28 - “y’know, i feel like i've told you so much about me, i really don't know the first thing about you.” yeah ‘cause there is LITERALLY NOTHING TO LEARN ABOUT HER Sylvie is so badly written it actually kills me
Episode 4
7:26 - “like me being born the Goddess of Mischief” - Sylvie is arrested by the TVA for having been born a girl, and presumably that later meaning that if she wanted to she could become a Valkyrie if she wanted to - which i'm fairly certain it's mentioned that Loki wanted to be a Valkyrie when he was younger. This is actually so fucking stupid. The file on our Loki variant states that they were born with a “fluid” sex (whatever the fuck that means), and we are to assume that a lot of parts of variants are intrinsically the same between each other, so you’d assume that Sylvie would also be born with a “fluid” sex
10:07 - Loki and Sylvie are finally bonding by discussing what “makes a Loki a Loki” and Loki insisting that its their collective ability to survive - of course they have to be fucking weird about it which causes a Nexus event, because plot i guess
11:00 - i hate that we don't get to actually see Loki and Sylvie get picked up
12:39 - isn't it a little fun, a little silly, that the bad memory Loki is stuck in is Sif saying “I hope you know you deserve to be alone and you always will be”
17:17 - it's interesting however that it doesn't really hit for Loki until after hes admitted that he does things for attention because he's scared of being alone - BUT i don't like that that is probably reason that the writers had for him falling for Sylvie, him thinking that because she is like him that she has similar fears and thus wouldn't do something to lose that companionship, rather instead it would have been interesting in its use to how Loki has inexplicably grown attached to Mobius of all people (especially because it is immediately followed by Mobius coming in)
15:27 - “aren’t you supposed to be interrogating your variant pet?” r15 to Mobius
19:11 - “I'm going to miss these little tete-a-tetes.” “Me too.” mocking from Mobius, a bit more genuine from Loki
20:59 - “you like her.” Mobius to Loki about Sylvie - im going to kill myself
22:14 - “your female self” good god im going to drown myself its so bad - neither Loki nor Sylvie should be considered a male or female version of the other, because they are both NEITHER male or female, they are both “fluid” in sex - the writers clearly did not know, nor give a fuck about the queerness of Loki and the character it actually makes me want to tear my own head off
34:26 - okok, i think it's fun and a little silly that Loki has a big reaction to Mobius being pruned, one that's harder for him to conceal than the one when he's told that Sylvie’s been pruned - but also, a bit nitpicky here i know, it's really dumb that he's just standing there, he doesn't even try to reach out to Mobius to move him out of the way or anything
41:18 - the “No, i have to tell you something” & “back on lamentis…. This is new for me.” & grabbing Sylvie’s shoulders - clearly supposed to set up the idea that Loki has some-fucking-how fallen for Sylvie (which is dumb as even worse written than most straight relationships) and wants to tell her now? For some reason? HOWEVER, it could have so easily been (and would have been better) instead, him trying to tell her that he trusts her and sees her as a partner in crime and a friend. Because that's the whole thing, right? Loki is scared of being alone, and yet doesn't do friends, and doesn't do partners, because he knows that he will always be alone anyways. The nexus event is him finding solace in the fact that he will die beside a friend rather than alone like he's always known he would. But nooo selfcest is definitely better than meaningful friendships, why dont you fucking kill me for thinking otherwise. Anyways he gets pruned here anyways so L Loki, fucking loser.
Episode 5
Unrelated but where the hell did the Lokis get their clothes - like, i get Sylvie because shes been fucking off all over the timeline for a long time, but everyone in the void? Why do they have their clothes
Again it seriously kills me that Sylvie has no character - no likes, no goals outside of destroying the TVA, no self-reflection, she's the woman character that is smarter and cooler than her male counterparts because they need to be looked after in order to not be killed
Another note on this, we can get a vague idea of what Loki will want when everything is over - he jokes about wanting to rule an entire universe/timeline, but in reality everyone knows he will just want to go somewhere where he's cared about and seen as equal, somewhere where he won't be alone - but we don't know what Sylvie will want, we cant even conceive an idea, because all we know is that she wants the TVA and whoever controls it gone, and we can assume that she wanted to be a valkyrie when she was little, but we know literally nothing else about her, so we have to assume either her and Loki are going to figure out their paths together, or that she will go off to figure it out on her own and we won't hear or see her again until she has a dumb cameo I think i would respect how little we know about Sylvie if it were a “i've spent so much of my life surviving and fixated on this one thing that i haven't had time to figure out who i am as a person and what i like and what i want after its all over”, but we never get anything like this, at least in any kind of depth that would make it good The Strong Woman trope is what I was looking for
16:04 - “Have any of you met a woman variant of us?” “Sounds terrifying.” i'm going to bash my head against the wall until my brains are crawling out the other side
Whoo president Loki, aka the only version of Loki selfcest i can stand behind, because at least commit to the bit if you're gonna do it
The one black Loki is the overly aggressive one that betrays everyone first, because what else should we expect from hollywood. Fucks sake
I do adore that the Lokis have so easily adopted Mobius within their little group and how good he is at understanding all of them
30:18 - “Mobius isn't so bad” “or so good. I think that's why we get along.” “he cares about you” Sylvie and Loki
okay, I'm not saying that they should have made Mobius the love interest, however I absolutely am saying that. I personally think that would be far more compelling than the selfcest plot, it wouldn't be out of nowhere like i'm sure some may argue because so much of this show was spent on showing that Mobius is the only person that's been able to truly understand Loki and get a good read on them and Loki views him as a friend despite it all, on the other hand i think the selfcest plotline is absolutely out of nowhere, but its not viewed as such because its portrayed as straight and thus expected, they have little to no romantic chemistry, they have had very very very few scenes where they are interacting positively with each other that aren't surrounded with the fact that they are working together because they have the same goal and are trying to survive and most of those interactions are sandwiched between arguing. I just think this scene could have easily been about Loki acknowledging that he cares about Mobius in a way that he doesn't think he has anyone else before, Sylvie could make a call back to her mailman, and then Loki can go quiet and amongst that have the blanket thing w/o the strange glances and awkward pauses and then they can discuss betrayal and what they want to do once everything is all over
31:48 - “i dont have friends. I don't have… anyone.” Sylvie - well now you do because thats all that this will be right? :D ← the face of denial
36:47 - “looks like you got away in the end” Mobius to Loki - you are a homosexual
37:09 - the lokius hug & Loki’s face before it
40:48 - “I don't know how” “you do, because we’re the same.” Loki and Sylvie - well you dont fucking say! Gee golly! Who woulda thunk it? Certainly not me, Mr. sylkie-is-selfcest-no-matter-how-you-twist-it. Good god I hate this stupid show.
Episode 6
I hate this show so so much, but i do really like when the silly mascot character that is kind of overlooked as comedic relief turns out to be a vessel for the villain, or at least are more sinister than they first seemed and they just become kind of uncanny and unsettling
I also really like immortal characters that have been alive for so long that they are truly exhilarated by their end
33:45 - Loki having a “no stop, this isn't you ;(” moment is so funny
34:56 - the grossest moment of the show. Selfcest, ladies and gentlemen!
35:12 - i feel like it is very important to note that sylvie saying “but i'm not you” here, is NOT her denying that her and Loki are the same, just that the experience and feeling that Loki is expressing is not shared
39:49 - “Who are you? What's your name?” Mobius to Loki - sobs it's so upsetting i can't do this - imagine how much more tragic this scene would've been if Mobius was set up as the love interest shm my head stupid fucking show
End :))))

Here’s The Kicker
“One day Jesus was praying in a certain place. When He finished, one of His disciples said to Him, “Lord, teach us to pray, just as John taught His disciples.” Luke 11:1NIV
Prayer is the most powerful communication between God and man. Jesus wanted His disciples to know how to pray. If He wanted them to know how, it’s for certain He wants us to know as well. There are many forms of prayer. My most often prayed prayers are ‘Help,’ and ‘Forgive me.’
One form of prayer is ‘Petition,’ where we write down our need, the scriptures which align with the need and find a partner who will agree 100% with our prayer.
I’ve been listening to Hank Kunneman preach about ‘Imprecatory’ prayers. Actually, I’d never heard of them before, but as I read the scriptures now I can see all of these prayers prayed by King David. In Psalm 58 David was speaking about unjust judges, (where have we heard this lately in our society?) Then we come to the imprecatory prayer— V6ESV “O God, break the teeth in their mouths; tear out the fangs of the young lions, O LORD! Let them vanish like water that runs away;…”
Wow, relatively harsh! But wait. What the evildoers were doing was harsh, evil and unjust. David understood they knew right from wrong. Bleeding hearts will say, ‘they didn’t know any better.’ Wrong! Genesis 3:22NLT “Then the LORD God said, “Look, the human beings have become like Us, knowing both good and evil…” This one statement from Yahweh shows that all people from all times have been given a conscience. The conscience gives warning, followed with feelings of guilt, remorse and shame. Satan makes sure those feelings follow every sin, because he’s the of the Law.
A depravity equal to today was occurring in Rome during Paul’s time there. He addressed this depravity knowing God built a conscience into everyone, even those unacquainted with Him Romans 1:21NIV “For although they knew God, they neither glorified Him as God nor gave thanks to Him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened.”
Before Yeshua/Jesus God knew Gentiles had no understanding and no way of making atonement for their sins. After Jesus came and paid the debt for everyone’s sin “…now He commands all people everywhere to repent.” Acts 17:30NIV.
In this nation no politician, church-goer, or judge has an excuse for practicing evil. They’re all aware of Who Jesus is and what He has done. The fact they don’t choose to believe in Him doesn’t resolve their guilt or negate His Sovereignty. Romans 14:11-12ESV “…As I live, says the Lord, every knee shall bow to Me, and every tongue shall confess to God. So then each of us will give an account of himself to God.”
After asking God to save these lost souls, we can pray our text, or Psalm 141:10NIV “Let the wicked fall into their own nets, while I pass by in safety.” Psalm 35:8NIV “may ruin overtake them by surprise— may the net they hid entangle them, may they fall into the pit, to their ruin.”
Yes God hears and answers such prayers prayed by the innocent. Our prayers aren’t to be prayed out of spitefulness and revenge, hatred or malice— for we are to love our enemies. Here’s the kicker to this imprecatory prayer. Prayed in God’s love these consequences ‘may’ awaken them to truth and give the opportunity for Holy Spirit to deal in their lives unto salvation.
Can we love as much as Christ loves to keep our hearts free of vengeful desire? Seek for their salvation? Praying down God’s will? It’s your choice. You choose.
LET’S PRAY: Father God my mom used to pray, whatever it takes to save __ use it. Lord God these evil people trying to eat us alive, do whatever it takes to save their souls, in the name of Jesus Christ I pray.

Dear Dawn, Its just me again. Trying answer up to all your letters. Good Mornin by the way its 6:35 A.M. . . . OK! answer to what makes everyone classify me as a Seriel Killer? Well actually no one had. The cops labeled me this on the fact that a number of men where killed . . . For Seriel Killers—Real ones stalk as often as they can. And if theres a cooling off period its only in a matter of days. Not months. Plus there brutal in these deaths. These men where never tortured nor dismembered. Richard Mallory raped me. Where as he tied me to the steering wheel, then proceeded to vaginally and anally rape me. For nearly 2 hours. Then after he was done. He put rubbing Alcohol he had in a visine bottle. The bottom my nose, vagina and anus. This was excurciatingly painfull. But more so in my ass. Because he tore me up bad. I never had sex like that. I never allowed exotic wierd stuff while I husseled. Just Clean stuff. Well after his attack. It wasnt untill 6 months later I’d meet another one. And thee others were 2 to 3 months apart. I was meeting strangers more so then my regulars during the last year of ty and I’s relationship. Because my regulars most of them where at “Desert Storm” now . . . The other question. Is why cant people see it was Self defense. Is because the crooked scum. Started slashing slanderous crap all through the media, and Magazines . . . The producers working with Munster horzepa Thompson and others involved, told them . . . that the public would have to believe I was a Seriel Killer . . . The thing is. The movie is totally a made up lie. And goes 200% against all I told them in my confessions. What really makes me sick, is that every time I was trying to recollect an incident and get into the rape. I was cut off… Only being asked Callous question such as how many times did you shoot him? and where did you leave there bodies? And there cars Where did you ditch them at? . . . They were pissed off every time I tried telling the real realities of the situations which were events that were also hard to remember. Cause I was always drunk during the attacks. I drank in front and with all my clients. I was a beer alcoholic for 14 years. Also in the three hours interview. I was going through withdrawals and slight D.T.s. At one point. I saw what looked like worms crawling on the floor in the corner. Just for a second. Between the pressure of stress, hysteria the trauma of it all, and withdrawing it made me really to upset to relate things coherently or competent. They knew it too. And kept stokien me . . . So this is part of the deal. But theres hundreds more of deception they used against the true facts of Self defense . . . One major one is. I kept all weapons each guy used against me. Which were in storage. If I should ever get caught or turn myself in. The weapons can’t be found. Yet tyria knows they were put in there. Its really sick . . . She knows its self defense. But of course is denying . . . as I said before. A conviction has to occurr, and the public has to believe its Seriel to apply for a box office hit. Whereas you can imagine. Rambo brought in 20 million the first 4 weeks it was out across America. So First Female Seriel Killer. “Got it” OK! Thats the whole deal. Well Dawn last page. I’ve got ya pretty well on a bit of understanding whats going on. Theres so much more though. The crookedness would take days to explain. But its soon to “all” come out in the wash. Through investigations and a book I’ll be writting on it. “Sound off”. Gotta Go Gal. I love you too. By the way buddy! I always cared about you, and thought about you on many many occasions. You take GOOD. care of yourself. 4-now Love Lee

Uncommon Questions for OCs and their creators: For Myra
5. How easy is it to earn their mistrust? 6. Do they consider laws flexible, or immovable?
14. What animal do they fear most? 15. How do they speak? Is what they say usually thought of on the spot, or do they rehearse it in their mind first?
24. Is sex something that they’re comfortable speaking about? To whom? 25. What are their thoughts on marriage?
34. How hard is it for them to shake a sense of guilt? 35. How do they treat the things their friends come to them excited about? Are they supportive?
5. Easy. Myra isn't the type of person to blindly trust everyone he sees. Guy lives in an abandoned temple rumoured to by haunted by the foot of a mountain and forest where people are known to die by accident or unalive themselves. So of course he doesn't take things at face value.
But once he gets to trust you, it's very easy to lose his trust. Just do something he doesn't agree with or that pisses his off. At the contrary of his father, Myra is very calm, so it takes a lot to tick him off, but once you do it, it's done. Boy blows up like a pressure pot.
6. Depends on the flaw actually. He recognizes people have qualities and flaws to them. He recognizes some flaws can be changed. He also recognizes some flaws you just have to learn to live with them.
14. Spiders. My man will rip himself naked if a spider so much lands on his shoulder. Will brawl bears and pandas, will fights wolves, will face dragons, will crush roaches. Throw a spider at him and he will freak out.
Explanation - Orb Weavers. It was summer, he was cleaning up the forest trail. As he turned a set of bamboo trees, he slammed head first into a orb-weaver's net, with said orb weaver still in the net. Let's just say, he had to spend the next day retracing his steps to find his stuff that he threw in a fit of panic.
15. They rarely rehearse what they must say and mostly just say what comes to their mind. But they do think things through before saying it.
24. When he was a teen he was a lot more talkative about sex than he is now. He would brag about his conquests, as did most guys with his popularity and age. But as he grew and got some sense and humility knocked into him, he stopped doing this. He now only talks about sex with his significant other or his doctor when on appointments.
25. His mother never married and his grandfather was a widow. He was not close with his paternal grandparents nor paternal uncles, so he never had an 'example' or married life. It's not something on his mind, that he considers for himself, but if his significant other was adamant on marriage he'd do it.
34. Depends. So far quite easy. He doesn't think about the kids he bullied when he was a teen. When he got some humility knocked unto him he did think what an awful guy he was and felt guilt for all the people he bullied, but he doesn't dwell on it. If he did meet one of them again, he'd probably apologize.
35. He doesn't have a lot of friends anymore. He currently has four good friends, his sister Aniara, Tomoyo (her bf), Haruki (one of the Forest Rangers) and Megumi a fellow snowboarder. But whenever any of them come to him excited about something he's usually the rational supporter. He's the type where he will listen to your plans and think about them, and give you advice on them.

Fear the LORD, and Serve Him
14 Now therefore fear Jehovah, and serve him in sincerity and in truth; and put away the gods which your fathers served beyond the River, and in Egypt; and serve ye Jehovah. 15 And if it seem evil unto you to serve Jehovah, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve Jehovah.
16 And the people answered and said, Far be it from us that we should forsake Jehovah, to serve other gods; 17 for Jehovah our God, he it is that brought us and our fathers up out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage, and that did those great signs in our sight, and preserved us in all the way wherein we went, and among all the peoples through the midst of whom we passed; 18 and Jehovah drove out from before us all the peoples, even the Amorites that dwelt in the land: therefore we also will serve Jehovah; for he is our God.
19 And Joshua said unto the people, Ye cannot serve Jehovah; for he is a holy God; he is a jealous God; he will not forgive your transgression nor your sins. 20 If ye forsake Jehovah, and serve foreign gods, then he will turn and do you evil, and consume you, after that he hath done you good. 21 And the people said unto Joshua, Nay; but we will serve Jehovah. 22 And Joshua said unto the people, Ye are witnesses against yourselves that ye have chosen you Jehovah, to serve him. And they said, We are witnesses. 23 Now therefore put away, said he, the foreign gods which are among you, and incline your heart unto Jehovah, the God of Israel. 24 And the people said unto Joshua, Jehovah our God will we serve, and unto his voice will we hearken. 25 So Joshua made a covenant with the people that day, and set them a statute and an ordinance in Shechem. 26 And Joshua wrote these words in the book of the law of God; and he took a great stone, and set it up there under the oak that was by the sanctuary of Jehovah. 27 And Joshua said unto all the people, Behold, this stone shall be a witness against us; for it hath heard all the words of Jehovah which he spake unto us: it shall be therefore a witness against you, lest ye deny your God. 28 So Joshua sent the people away, every man unto his inheritance. — Joshua 24:14-28 | American Standard Version (ASV) The American Standard Version Bible is in the public domain. I don't play Genshin, so I'm only peripherally aware of what's going on, but did want to say something - especially since I know I have some teenagers and people in early 20s who follow me:
I get how exciting it is to have someone you admire for their work (whether voice acting, art, writing, whatever) wanting to interact with you. And it's fine if they do! There is nothing inherently predatory about being the 14-year-old thrilled to bits their favorite media figure remembers who they are, nor is it predatory to be the 35-year-old media figure utilizing a safe place, like a Discord server, to interact with fans, even if some of them are underage.
The key here is safe.
If someone is sending you NSFW art or pictures (of themselves or anything else), is implying (or outright saying) they'll wait for you until you reach legal age of majority, if they're asking you for pictures of yourself or to chat privately and not to tell anyone...
You need to tell someone.
It doesn't have to be your parents, especially if telling them might mean consequences for you (which should not happen, because you are not at fault for whatever that other person is saying or doing). Find an adult you trust. A teacher, a religious leader, a counselor, a psychologist, someone you think might be able to help you figure out how to handle it and what to do going forward to protect yourself.
Again, let me say: YOU ARE NOT AT FAULT IF THIS HAPPENS.
No ifs, ands, or buts. If you are underage, and someone of age, especially someone with the "power" of knowing kids and teens admire them and using that power differential to keep you quiet or compliant, they are doing something wrong (and potentially illegal), and they should be the ones held responsible. Not you.
At any age, if someone is using their status to coerce you in any way, they are in the wrong. If you are underage and they are aware of it and nonetheless exposing you to inappropriate text, chats, pictures, photos, videos, anything: they are likely breaking the law. You don't have to have told them to stop. They know what they are doing. And it is predatory.
Can it potentially just be an accident? Yes, honestly. Say you've been chatting with them on and off, thinking they know your age, and they say something or show you something that is inappropriate - if you're like, "Hey, I just wanted to make sure you know I'm fifteen?"
If their response is, "Oh, crap, I had no idea! I'm really sorry. I'll be more careful. Thank you for telling me! I hope you're okay" and the behavior never repeats? That's one thing. It happens.
But if their response is "man, you think I care?" or "yeah, but I know you look this stuff up anyway, everybody does," or "ha, yeah, I figured. Don't tell anyone, I'll be in trouble. 🤣" or "so - we come back to this in a couple of years, yeah???"
You do need to tell someone. You need to be kept safe. Laws are in place to protect minors for a reason. Some may seem draconian, but that doesn't mean they're not there to give you a safety net where you are 100% not at fault, and do deserve help protecting yourself.
Again, again, again: You. Are. Not. At. Fault. Period.
Speaking as a parent of a kid on the cusp of being old enough for more freedom online (she's 13 later this month): I absolutely believe she, and you, will come across more decent folks than dangerous ones online (same as offline). And I hope she has people she'd trust to help her, even if it for whatever reason it wasn't me or her father, if she finds herself in a situation like the one revealed today.
I, as an adult in fandom spaces, am not your mother. I am not here to prevent you seeing or looking up things you shouldn't. I'm not telling you there's anything inherently wrong with seeking out answers to awkward questions online, or looking up NSFW art or stories, or even watching porn. None of this is new, it's just now no longer in anonymous newspaper advice columns or Playboys stuffed under the mattress. For teenagers, especially ones who are trying to figure out their own self-image and comfort levels, all of this is totally normal. I was 14 on the internet once too. And I don't think anybody would accuse me of being one of the prudes that thinks blocking Pornhub and monitoring texts will magically keep teenagers from finding things. Tale as old as time.
But - and this is a big but:
It is part of my job to keep you safe when interacting with me. Whether you speak to me publically or privately, I am aware of that. Another part of my job is to make sure I never say anything that I wouldn't want seen by the whole world, if I am talking to a minor online. I would never betray your trust like that, unless I felt someone was in imminent danger, but that's not why I say it. I say it because I should not be saying anything to a 14-, 15-, 16-year-old that I would want to keep private from everyone else knowing about.
Teenagers, you're not stupid. Your hormones are playing cuckoo clock, you've got a thousand things in your own body changing by what seems like the minute, and your frontal lobes may still be a little mushy and under-networked. But none of that makes you stupid. If an adult - whether it's a celebrity, an artist, a fandom acquaintance, or someone you know in some capacity in real life - is doing things you know they shouldn't be (and often telling you not to tell), you are showing wisdom in seeking help. Help should not judge you. (I know it happens. Hence the "should." But that doesn't mean you did anything wrong. You did exactly right.)
So please - keep yourselves safe. This situation involved a voice actor, but it has the potential to be anyone. I'm not saying trust nobody over 18, ever. You absolutely should have people over 18 that you can turn to! Just know, if you find yourself dealing with this, you are not alone, and there are also people who can help you work through confusing feelings and help you navigate what to do next.
Stay safe.
You deserve it.
