According to NBC here in the US, the missing titanic sub has been found. As debris. Off the bow of the Titanic wreckage.

And it looks like the sub suffered what we all suspected, and what was undoubtedly the more merciful of the two options: a catastrophic implosion from the pressure.

Also, more info has come to light about the fishing trawler with the hundreds of migrants that sank cataclysmically off the coast of Greece, indicating that the greek coast guard knew about the vessel AND how much trouble the vessel was in, and were towing it at a speed that made it capsize, at which point they unhooked the tow line and watched the trawler sink without helping the passengers to safety. Despite a bunch of other ships trying to help as well throughout the whole ordeal.

So a lot of people are dead, all because of regulations (and the lack thereof) regarding sea-faring vessels and rescue protocols. People shouldnt be allowed to make a business charging a ton of money for a ride on an uncertified, unsafe, un-seaworthy ship going deep into the ocean with no distress beacon or tether to the mothership. People also shouldnt be allowed to enact laws that criminalize the ferrying of refugees, which then force the refugees to hitch rides on fishing trawlers, and which also prevent people from helping those fishing trawlers full of refugees due to fear of legal consequences.

Hopefully BOTH of these events spark changes on an international scale in terms of what is legally allowed to be sailed, who is legally allowed to be the passengers, and what the rescue protocols are in the event of disaster for any seafaring vessel, illegal or not. It shouldnt be just the global 1% who get 24/7 search parties and remote-operated submersibles helping rescue them.

merlin’s secret being a visual thing. when he is around arthur or gwen or leon or morgana or [insert whatever character here] merlin seems pale and thin, almost like a ghost or an apparition. when the sun lands on him he reflects it like a corpse, he eyes seem dark and dull. he has this ethereal beauty to him, this otherworldly visage that leads many to believe he is of fae blood. he just doesn’t seem to be 100% human. but when he is ONLY with lancelot or gaius (cough or gwaine bc gwaine DEFINITELY knew) merlin is heartachingly human. merlin shines in the sunlight, colors are brighter and more vibrant around him, and his smiles are wide and his laughs are boisterous. he takes on color and leaves everyone wanting to know him. but when other join in or interact with the two, merlin shifts before their eyes so quickly and suddenly that they aren’t sure whether or not what they saw was a trick of the light. the idea still leaves them wanting more and wanting to see the merlin who is just so full of life but that merlin only appears for a small select group of people. merlin who has a guard so high that it has an effect of other’s perception of him.

Something that nobody tells you about growing up to be like your dad is that it will just give you new, invigorated insight into just how much your dad sucks ass. For example, I am in a foul fucking mood because I did poorly on my midterm and now feel like I need to vent my excess neurotic energy by picking a fight. However, instead of waiting til I get home and deliberately setting up a scenario where I have an excuse to blow up at my wife and kids without 'being in the wrong', I am instead fuming about how shitty my dad is, which harms nobody of importance and motivates me to be better than him out of spite. your latest post got me thinking... what if after the reader found out about the boys' feelings for them, they all started taking turns having the reader? like, there were so many fights going on that bruce had to make a schedule so everyone could have their time with reader

id say after reader finds out and they kinda just accept their situation that yeah they definitely do make a schedule .. and everyone tries to follow it. at first. i'd say they take your feelings into account, and you get to spend time with whoever didn't creep you out or piss you off that day. really, the schedule was just a suggestion.

in the end, it's bruce who's in charge, and it's bruce making the decisions. unfortunately for the rest of the boys, he takes full advantage of being the one legally married to you– the one who got to you first. this means a lot of your time would be spent with him, your dear husband. after all, you really did fall in love with him before you found out he had a few screws loose. he's still the same man you love, and you'd probably prefer spending time with him anyway.

as for the rest of them, they don't really have a choice but to work with the time that bruce had left. it's just a bit stressful to plan a perfect date for the bad weather forecast on their day.

See, if they REALLY NEEDED to do the whole Lila Five thing they could've still done it and have it be meaningful, well received, and important to Fives character by simply making it one-sided. Five could've fallen in love with Lila in those seven years, but never acted upon it because 1) it's his brothers wife and 2) she doesn't feel the same way. This could result in multiple emotional arcs for Five where he realises that there are things in this world he can't control. He's always so used to being able to go back and change time and timelines to bend to his will, but this time, he just let's it go. He realises that fate is fate, he can't change that and THATS OKAY. He would also realise that he has severe attachment issues due to feeling like his father abandoned him as a child, and also feeling like he abandoned his siblings as a child, and try and work on that in the future.

And, most importantly, he wouldn't have betrayed his brothers trust. He would let Lila go because he KNOWS Diego loves her, and, no matter how attached he's grown to her, he would sacrifice his love for his brother any day.

Then Diego could've found out, and felt betrayed, but then Five could reassure him and tell him that there is nothing in this world more important to him than his family, and therefore he would never act upon his feelings. This way, fans could sympathize and maybe even relate to five, he would become an even bigger fan favorite due to his selflessness, and it would do his character some good.

But...that's not what we got. We got Five being a homewrecker, Lila being a cheater, Diego being betrayed by the people he loves the most, Lila being a predator, and a complete character assassination of Five Hargreeves that ultimately added nothing to the plot.
