The lights of Tannyhill shone brightly in the distance, like a beacon illuminating everything perfectly.
You were in the backyard of Tannyhill, sitting on a stone table that probably cost more than your entire house. The night was warm, but you still felt a slight chill running through your skin. It could be from the air or from the presence of Rafe Cameron, leaning against a column, looking at you with that smile that made your chest tighten in ways you didnât want to admit.
âIf JJ knew about this, he would kill me.â Your voice broke the silence, a mix of nerves and sincerity in your words.
Rafe raised an eyebrow, his smile widening, but his eyes never left yours.
âIf JJ knew about this, he would have been dead for months.â His tone was light, as if he said it in jest, but you knew that look. He wasnât joking.
You should have laughed, maybe even responded with a scathing comment, but the truth was that the idea of ââJJ finding out what you were doing terrified you. How could you explain to him that after years of swearing that you hated Rafe Cameron as much as he did, you had ended up here, seeing him in secret?
âWhy are you doing this, Rafe?â you asked, abruptly changing the subject. You had thought about that question many times, but you had never dared say it out loud.
Rafe stopped smiling, slowly pushing himself off the column as he made his way towards you. Each step he took seemed to charge the air around you. When he reached your side, he leaned in slightly, just enough for his intense, direct blue eyes to catch yours.
âBecause with you I donât have to pretend.â
The words hit something deep inside you, leaving a crack in your carefully constructed defenses. You looked at him, searching for any trace of lying or manipulation, but all you found was honesty, raw and unvarnished.
âThat doesnât make it any less complicated.â You tried to make your voice sound firm, but there was a slight tremor that betrayed everything.
He tilted his head, his expression softening a little.
âAnd thatâs why youâre still here? Despite everything.â
You didnât answer. You couldnât. Because the truth was, no matter how hard you tried to get away, you always ended up coming back. Something about Rafe dragged you along, like a current you couldnât avoid.
He moved closer, his hand finding your waist with an ease that made you catch your breath.
âLook at me.â His voice was low, almost a whisper, but charged with intensity.
You obeyed, even though every part of you screamed not to. His eyes seemed to pierce through you, seeing parts of you no one else had noticed.
âDo you know what happens to me when youâre not around?â he asked, his tone so serious that you felt a lump forming in your throat. âItâs like everything is⊠empty again. You make it all make sense.â
Your heart skipped a beat, and suddenly the space between you felt nonexistent.
âRafeâŠâ you started, but he cut you off, shaking his head as his forehead brushed yours.
âDonât say you donât feel it too.â
And you didnât. You couldnât. Because you did. You had felt it from the first moment his lips touched yours weeks ago, from the instant he looked at you as if you were more than just a Pogue.
This time, you were the one who closed the distance. The kiss started slow, as if you were both afraid of breaking something fragile, but soon it became more urgent, more desperate. Your hands found his neck as he pulled you closer, as if he feared you might disappear at any moment.
In that instant, everything disappeared: the Pogues, JJ, the Kooks, the consequences you knew would fall upon you. Nothing else mattered. Just Rafe and you.
When you finally broke apart, you were both breathing heavily. Rafe leaned against your forehead, his hands still firm on your waist.
âRegretful?â he asked with that lopsided smile that always disarmed you.
âNot yet.â Your voice was more confident than you expected, though deep down you knew that answer could change.
Rafe let out a soft laugh, running a finger through a loose strand of your hair.
âYouâre braver than you think, Pogue.â
âAnd youâre more of an idiot than you let on.â
Rafe was still so close that you could feel the heat of his body as he pulled away slightly, his fingers still absentmindedly playing with a strand of your hair. His smile grew softer, less teasing, and for a moment it seemed like there was something else on his mind.
âI have an idea,â he said suddenly, his voice low, as if he was afraid to break the moment.
âWhat kind of idea?â you asked, raising an eyebrow.
Rafe stepped back, crossing his arms as he looked at you with a mix of expectation and excitement.
Rafe stepped back, crossing his arms as he looked at you with a mix of anticipation and excitement.
âTomorrow. You and me. A real date.â
That took you by surprise. Even though youâd been seeing each other on the sly for weeks, the thought of something as formal as a date hadnât crossed your mind. Was it even possible? Your lips curved into a small smile.
âAnd how do you propose we do that without JJ or the guys deciding to kill you?â
Rafe shrugged, his expression confident as ever.
âYouâre running away. Youâve done it before.â
âRafeâŠâ you started, even though you already knew youâd end up agreeing.
âTrust me. Itâll be perfect.â His eyes were shining, as if he was already imagining what it would be like. He took another step towards you and placed his hands on your hips, leaning in just enough so that his lips were just a few inches from yours. âJust you and me. No one else.â
You sighed, as if you were considering your options, but in reality your decision was made from the moment you looked into his eyes.
âOkay,â you finally relented, your voice laced with a mix of excitement and resignation.
Rafeâs smile widened.
âMeet me at Figure Eight Harbor, just before sunset. Bring something comfortable.â
âAny other directions, Mr. Cameron?â you asked, arching an eyebrow in a sarcastic tone.
Rafe leaned in and gave you a quick kiss, barely a brush, before pulling away.
âJust donât be late.â
You watched him walk away toward the house, his steps confident and relaxed. When he turned around for the last time, he gave you a look and a smile that made your stomach turn.
That night, as you made your way back to your house, you couldnât help but imagine what the date would be like. With Rafe, nothing was ever easy, but there was something about the way he looked at you, how he seemed to want to show you a different world, that made it worth the risk.
The next morning the morning sun streamed through the windows of your room, bathing the walls in a warmth that would normally have comforted you. But this time, you were too excited to pay attention to the small details. Today was the day. A date with Rafe Cameron.
You had woken up early, your heart racing and a smile that seemed impossible to erase. The pogues were away, completely absorbed in their quest for gold. With them gone, sneaking off to meet up with Rafe seemed easier than ever. Without JJ hovering like a hawk and Sarah suspecting a thing, you could finally relax and enjoy some alone time with him without the constant fear of being discovered.
You spent the day getting everything ready. You picked out comfortable clothes, like Rafe had suggested, but also something you knew he would appreciate: a light, simple dress that fell softly over your legs and sandals that would allow you to move around without any problems. You had tied your hair up in a carefree way, leaving a few strands loose to frame your face. You didnât want to look overdressed, but you also couldnât help but want to impress him.Â
By the time it was time to leave, the plan seemed perfect. You just had to avoid your father, something you usually managed with ease when he was deep in his own problems. With the guys gone and his attention divided between the television and the empty beers piling up on the table, there was no reason for this time to be any different.Â
Or so you thought.Â
As you walked down the stairs, holding a small bag in your hand, Lukeâs raspy voice echoed from the living room.Â
âWhere the hell do you think youâre going?â âIâm just going for a walk,â he asked, his bloodshot eyes fixed on you.
You froze on the spot, your fingers clenching your bag tightly. You knew you couldnât tell him the truth, but you hadnât prepared an excuse either.
âIâm just going for a walk,â you said, trying to sound casual as you avoided his gaze.
Luke stood up from the couch with a jerk, his body swaying slightly, and you realized immediately that he was drunk. Again.
âGoing for a walk?â he repeated, his tone full of mockery. âYouâre not as smart as you think, kid. Do you really think you can get away without me knowing?â
Your heart began to beat faster. You tried to stay calm, but you knew how these things ended.
âItâs no big deal, Dad. Iâm just going for a walk, thatâs all.â
âDonât talk to me like Iâm stupid.â His voice rose a pitch, and the thud of a bottle falling to the floor made you take a step back. His eyes narrowed as he looked you up and down. âWhy are you all dressed up? Huh? Who are you going to see?â
âNo one,â you lied quickly, but your voice shook, and that only seemed to make him angrier.
Luke took a step towards you, and the air in the room became heavy, suffocating.
âYouâve always been a liar, just like your mother.â His words were venom, and the contempt in his voice made you clench your fists at your sides. âWhat? You think you can just walk away and leave me here like I donât exist?â
Fear began to creep its way into your chest, but you didnât let it show on your face. You had learned to hide it well, to survive moments like this.
âIâm not leaving anyone, Dad. I just want to get out for a bit.â
âDONâT MOVE!â he suddenly shouted, slamming the table so hard that the noise echoed throughout the house.
Your body tensed, your feet rooted to the ground. You stared at the door for a moment, calculating if you could escape, but you knew he would reach you before you could even turn the knob.
âYouâre not going anywhere,â he growled as he approached, his steps firm and heavy. âAlways doing whatever you want, always thinking youâre better than me.â
Every word out of his mouth was like a blow, but the real blows began soon after. He threw a glass against the wall, just inches from where you stood, and the sound of glass breaking made you instinctively step back.
âDad, stop.â Your voice was low, but firm, even though inside you were shaking.
âSTOP?â He laughed bitterly. âDonât tell me what to do. Youâre nobody to give me orders!â
You felt a lump in your throat, helplessness mixing with the pain of knowing there was no way to reason with him in this state. All you wanted was to get out of that house, get to the port, and be with Rafe, away from all of this. But with every passing second, it seemed more impossible.
Finally, you took advantage of a moment when he was distracted looking for another bottle to try and move towards the door. But when Luke noticed, his face twisted into a mix of fury and contempt.
âWhere do you think youâre going?â he growled as he blocked your way.
You were trapped. And as time continued to tick, you felt the chance to see Rafe slip through your fingers.
Away from you, as time passed, and there was no sign of you. Rafe first thought maybe you were late, but as the sun began to set completely, worry began to settle in his chest.
âWhere are you?â he murmured, looking at his phone. He had texted twenty minutes ago, but you hadnât responded. You hadnât read the text either.Â
Rafe knew something was wrong. Even though your relationship was a secret, you had never missed a date without notice, and the thought of something stopping you made him more uneasy than he was willing to admit. His jaw tightened as he climbed into his truck. No matter what the reason was, he was going to find you.Â
He drove straight to your house, or as he silently called it, âPougeland.â The Maybank home wasnât in the best condition, and Rafe hated every second you spent there, especially because of Luke. He had heard enough about the man to know he wasnât someone to be trusted, and the thought of you being alone with him infuriated him.Â
As he approached the entrance, the sound of shouting from inside the house made his heart skip a beat. He didnât need to confirm who they were; He recognized your voice, full of fear, and Luke's, in an angry and aggressive tone. He quickened his pace towards the door, and just as he was about to enter, he heard the sound of something breaking.
âDad, stop!â Your voice came through clearly, desperate and scared.
That was enough for Rafe to act. He pushed the door open, the frame creaking from the force, and what he saw filled him with anger. Luke was on top of you, holding your arm as you tried to free yourself. Your face was marked, with the trace of a recent blow, and your eyes reflected both pain and terror.
âLet go of my girlfriend right now, motherfucker!â Rafe roared as he launched himself at Luke without a second thought.
Rafeâs presence startled Luke enough for him to loosen his grip for a moment, and you managed to stagger back to the side. Rafe didnât give you time to react. He landed a punch straight to the jaw that sent him tumbling backwards, but Luke quickly recovered, attempting to strike back.Â
âWhat the hell are you doing here, brat? Itâs none of your business!â Luke shouted, furious as he tried to grab Rafe.Â
âIt is when youâre hurting her!â Rafe shoved him hard against the wall, his rage igniting like an uncontrollable fire.Â
The two men grappled, but Rafe had the upper hand. Though Luke tried to punch him, he was too drunk to be effective. Rafe eventually tackled him to the ground, pinning him down with one knee as he gasped for air.Â
âIf you touch her again, Iâll kill you,â Rafe snapped in a cold, deadly voice.Â
Luke let out a bitter laugh, but didnât get a chance to respond. Rafe dropped him on the ground, unconscious from one last blow, and turned to you.
âAre you okay?â he asked, his voice much softer now, though his eyes still glittered with fury.
You were shaking, leaning against the wall, tears rolling down your cheeks. You nodded weakly, but Rafe saw clearly that you werenât okay. Without another word, he picked you up, ignoring your weak protests, and carried you to his truck.
âRafe, you donât have to do thisâŠâ you murmured, but your voice cracked.
âYes, I do have to,â he replied, his jaw set as he carefully placed you in the passenger seat.
He drove straight to the hospital, his hands gripping the steering wheel so hard that his knuckles turned white. When they arrived, Rafe insisted that you be checked out, and while the doctors made sure you had no serious injuries, Sheriff Shoupe arrived to take a report.
At first, you were reluctant to speak, but Rafe stayed by your side, holding your hand as you recounted what had happened. It was difficult, but every time you hesitated, Rafe looked at you with that mix of determination and tenderness that made you feel stronger.
Finally, Shoupe nodded, closing his notebook.
âWeâll do whatever it takes to keep Luke from bothering you again. Iâll send a team to arrest him right now.â
Rafe let out a sigh of relief, though he still seemed tense. He helped you out of the hospital, and when you finally climbed back into his truck, the silence between you was charged but comforting.
âThanks, Rafe,â you murmured, barely audibly.
He turned his head toward you, his expression softening for the first time all night.
âYou donât have to thank me,â he said, his voice low but firm. âIâll always be here for you. Always.â
The days following the incident at your house were a whirlwind. After Rafeâs intervention, youâd spent more time with him than ever before. Though youâd tried to reach out to the guys, you knew they were too busy with their obsession with gold to really pay attention. On the one hand, you felt guilty for keeping secrets from them, but on the other, it hurt that they werenât there when you needed them most.
Rafe, on the other hand, wouldnât leave your side. After what had happened with Luke, heâd insisted that you stay at one of the Cameron properties, a place where he knew youâd be safe. Though it was strange to depend on him, you also felt more protected than ever.
When the Pogues finally returned, they were quick to notice your absence. JJ was the first to raise his voice.
âWhereâs my sister?â âHe asked, his tone tense as he walked down the dock.
Sarah, who had spent the last few weeks feeling guilty for leaving you behind, tried to calm him down.
âMaybe sheâs at home, JJ. We canât assume the worst.â
âOh no? What if something happened to her while we were away looking for useless treasure?â he snapped, pointing at her.
âEasy there, buddy,â John B chimed in. âLetâs go find her and see whatâs going on.â
Without wasting any more time, the Pogues hopped in the Twinkie and headed straight to your house. But when they arrived, they found the front door taped shut and the place completely empty. The sight stunned them.
âWhat the hell happened here?â Kiara muttered, crossing her arms as she looked at the mess.
JJ, furious, started pounding on the door with his fist.
âThis doesnât make sense!â
Sarah was the first to notice that something was out of place. From her perspective, something about the mess and the police tapes seemed familiar.
âI think this has to do with Luke,â she said quietly, looking around.
âMy father?â JJ turned to her. âIf that bastard did anything to him, Iâll kill him with my own hands!â
John B tried to calm him down, but it was clear that everyone was just as worried. They didnât know where you were, and uncertainty was eating away at them.
Hours later, it was Sarah who finally found you. You were with Rafe, on a remote beach, leaning against his chest as he held you protectively. The rest of the guys arrived shortly after, stopping dead in their tracks at the sight.
âWhatâŠ?â JJ was the first to react, his shocked expression giving way to uncontrollable fury. âWhat the hell are you doing with him?â
You pulled away from Rafe quickly, but he stayed by your side, his gaze fixed on JJ with a mix of defiance and warning.
âJJ, I can explain,â you said, but your voice was shaking.
âExplain it?â Kiara interjected, her face a mix of disbelief and disappointment. âWeâre looking for you everywhere and you just happen to be here, cuddling with him!â
âHow could you betray us like that?â JJ snapped, taking a step towards you. âHeâs a fucking bully, a psychopath!â
âStop it!â Rafe raised his voice, and everyone glared at him with hatred. His jaw was set, his eyes shining with suppressed fury. âWhile you guys were too busy on your fucking treasure hunt, I was here saving your sister from your fucking father!â
The silence that followed was deafening. The Pogues stared at him as if they couldnât believe what they were hearing.
âWhat?â JJ asked, his tone lower, but still filled with distrust.
âLuke,â you finally said, your voice cracking as you tried to find the words. Luke⊠he attacked me.
âIf I hadnât gotten there in time,â Rafe continued, his voice sharp. âIf I hadnât been there, your father would have killed her.â
JJâs expression changed drastically. It went from anger to fear, and then to pain as he processed what Rafe had just said.
âThat canât be true,â he muttered.
âItâs true, JJ,â you said, your voice barely audible. âRafe saved me.â
The rest of the Pogues fell silent, processing the truth. Kiara looked down, while John B placed a hand on JJâs shoulder. Sarah, who already suspected as much, simply nodded regretfully.
Rafe looked at you for a moment before turning his attention back to them.
âI donât care what they think of me,â he said firmly. âBut Iâm not going to apologize for protecting her.â
The air between you was thick with tension, but this time, it wasnât hatred that filled the silence. The Pogues didnât say anything else, but the glances they exchanged confirmed that, as much as they hated to admit it, Rafe was right.
In the days that followed, although no one said anything directly, you could feel their gazes shifting away whenever Rafe accompanied you or when they mentioned something that might have to do with you. There were no more accusations or confrontations, but there was no open acceptance either. It was as if they had decided to ignore the subject entirely, something you were grateful for even though it hurt a little.
Rafe, for his part, remained unwavering. Despite the judgment he knew he was receiving, he never let it push him away from you. If anything, he seemed more determined than ever to prove to you that you could fully trust him.
One afternoon, as you sat on the porch of the house where you were now staying, Rafe drove up in his truck. He got out with a paper bag in his hand and that crooked smile you knew all too well.
âWhat do you have there?â âYou asked, putting aside the book you had been pretending to read.
âSurprise,â he replied, walking over to you with an air of mystery.
Rafe sat down next to you and pulled out two wrapped burgers and a box of fries from the bag.
âI thought you might want something other than canned food,â he joked as he handed you one of the burgers.
You couldnât help but laugh. It was a small gesture, but after everything that had happened, it meant a lot.
âYouâre a hero,â you said with a smile before taking a bite of the burger.
You spent the rest of the afternoon talking about anything but the Pogues or Luke. Rafe seemed determined to keep you away from any topic that might make you uncomfortable, and you appreciated that more than you could put into words.
A few days later, as you walked with Rafe along the beach, you unexpectedly ran into Sarah. She was alone, sitting on the sand with her gaze lost in the horizon. Seeing you, she raised her hand in a shy greeting.
âHey,â he said, his tone surprisingly soft.
Rafe braced himself beside you, clearly prepared for an argument, but Sarah didnât seem interested in fighting.
âI just wanted to tell you thatâŠâ he paused, looking first at you and then at his brother. âThank you. For being there for her.â
Rafe looked taken aback for a moment, but then nodded.
âYou donât have to thank me,â he replied in a neutral tone.
Sarah looked at you, and for the first time in days, you thought there was some warmth in her eyes.
âWe⊠the guys and I⊠shouldnât have judged you. Itâs just thatâŠâ she sighed, rubbing her temples. âWe didnât expect something like this to be happening while we were gone.â
âI understand,â you said, though there was still a small wound in your chest from how you had been treated at first.
âBut if youâre happy with him⊠then itâs okay,â Sarah continued, looking at Rafe with a mix of wariness and resignation. âJust⊠take care of her, okay?â
Rafe smirked. âI plan to do that.â
After that encounter, things began to change. The Pogues didnât mention your relationship with Rafe anymore, and while not everyone was completely comfortable with the situation, they realized it wasnât something they could control.
JJ was still the most distant, though he avoided any sarcastic comments when you were with Rafe. John B and Kiara seemed more neutral, and Sarah, though torn, slowly began to accept that Rafe was an important part of your life now.
Even though you knew there were still tensions with the Pogues and that life on the Outer Banks would always be complicated, at that moment, you felt like everything was where it needed to be. With Rafe by your side, you knew you could face whatever came next.

okay randomly pulling this one out of my head because I've been trying to figure out how the hell I want to say it for a while: what's crazy about the new wave of gf fans is that I've seen the sentiment (though I also saw it once or twice back in 2016) that shipping bill with ford is "saving" people from the alternative of the most popular bill ship being That Which We No Longer Mention By Name and I have to say that this literally only checks out if your entire understanding of why pedophilia is bad is because It Just Is, rather than the fact that a child by definition cannot consent and the power dynamics at play mean it is always a form of abuse, it's an adult exercising control over a child. like it's the abuse itself that's bad. so by that logic I have to assume people are either 1. choosing to ignore the fact that within canon, ford was coerced/straight up lied to and then had his consent violated repeatedly, Or 2. insisting that this is all okay because ford is an adult. who consented at one point in time (under dire circumstances) (it wasn't even his idea??) even though he revoked that consent later and it was ignored. like it's fascinating to me how bill refers to ford as. hang on actually so you know I'm not just making this shit up
he quite literally calls him a child here (from the website) while explaining Why he went after ford and the thing is you see it reflected perfectly in his behavior: he calls him 'kid' even when he's in his 60's to taunt him, he makes him get rid of a beloved pet he doesn't approve of, he unquestionably acts as a mentor more than a friend on equal standing, fucking etc. point being I think gravity falls does something a lot of stories don't even when they try to cover this type of subject matter where they make it obvious that being a victim of abuse isn't a matter of age or intelligence. abusive people will look for vulnerability in Anyone and I really don't think there's a hard moral line here.
I think the point of what I'm trying to say is that if one is okay and the other isn't: uh. why? what does it say when an almost identical if not more insidious* narrative about a character being abused is okay because it has a more "acceptable" veneer of sex appeal?
*"more" is subjective here, personally I think ford being written as a victim is more obvious/intentional than the stuff going on with dipper because in his case they were in a relationship ("relationship" in big quotes) for multiple years which adds layers to it. both are bad obviously but I think what gets implied in ford's story is worse on purpose. okay back to studying bye

I did it - I finally did it, I made concept doodles of the different leaders
I've been meaning to do this for a while now, I've just kept forgetting to and then get distracted with much more pressing matters n shit so yk but I decided fuck it they don't need to be good so long as they just get my idea across,,, and then later on when I have the time, energy and patience to I can fully render them
These are all also leaning into who they are in my HCs, simply because I think it's kinda boring to just go "well what if we put person a in person b's body and keep everything else the exact same" like where's the nuance in that,,,
So all the same story beats still happen, just minor differences, like Tord still leaves and has the robot explode causing the damage (but different contexts now) and Tom is still possessed by the rage demon or whateva and Edd still gets powers and Matt still becomes a vampire,, they just are put in different plot points in the story
I don't like the idea of just reskinning characters, yk, if I were to change story beats for things like "instead of matt getting bitten by the vampire bite it was tord" I wouldn't want it to just be the same shit happens because Tord wouldn't react the same way to it as Matt would, yk ?? I don't wanna give the character's the others personalities, just their plot beats
But in this things stay relatively the same
Except in this Tom, in a desperation to live after failing to dismantle Tord's robot in an act of rage against Tord returning and pretending like nothing happened, makes a deal with his more demonic half and gives up part of his soul to live
Edd gets blown up trying to use Tord's robot against Tord's wishes and something something main characters can't die or whatever so he painfully finds out that his "poweredd" powers grant him a very fucked up version of immortality,,, I made it look goopy because I can and I'm madly in love with my partner and they've given me this idea so fuck them blame them if you want
Matt gets no lasting consequences for his actions because he's a vampire and they have MAD regenerative abilities, but he does still blow up but this time when him and Edd are fucking around in Tord's little office ?? whatever the hell it is he has stuffed in his room as a secondary room, yk when him and Edd are touching all those buttons they're not supposed to, that's what caused the robot to malfunction and Matt ends up getting the brunt of it - I mean so does Edd, and since this would be Tom's world that would probably why Matt and Edd's relationship grows sour since Edd got caught up in the blast too n whatnot I dunno I'm mostly spitballing here I haven't sat down and properly thought out these AUs yet so yk
take all of this with a grain of salt this is ALLLL subject to change in the future but for now this is what I have in my head for everything :p

Hey. You might want to pull your nose out of that disgusting textbook for once.
Weâve been over this. Just because you donât understand something it doesnât mean itâs disgusting. Itâs very disrespectful.
What is disrespectful is you not paying attention to our yearâs hottest new commodity - emphasis on the hot. I must say, he fills out that uniform quite nicely.
Iâm sure he does.
Câmon, youâre not even a little bit curious? Just a peek?
Y/N? Hellooooooo?Â
Oh my god. I know the guy.
???
What is he doing here? Last I heard he was being homeschooled.
Know him how??
We went to the same primary school. We wereâŠfriends.
Riiiight.
Donât get any ideas. I havenât seen him since I was ten. And he looked very, very different back then. Had a ratty sort of face. I can still kind of see it, actually.
Oh, Y/N, how could you say such awful things about his beautiful face! Oh dear, that bone structureâŠ
Quiet, you. Heâs reallyâŠgrown. Heâs so much taller now.
You know what you should do? You should offer to help him catch up.
On five years of school?
Oh, please, he was homeschooled. He had to have learnt some things. Who is he, anyway?
Theodore Nott.
Now thatâs an Old Money name if I ever heard one.
Ivy. Be nice.
So? Is he? Old money, that is.
IâŠsuppose so.
Are you sure you two were friends?
Yes. Itâs been a while, thatâs all. I justâŠwow. I canât believe heâs here. Like, right there. I didnât know if Iâd ever see him again.
What happened?
He moved. I was starting at Hogwarts. We lost touch, it happens.
But now heâs back! Yay! Did you see those sinfully blue eyes of his?
Ivy, you have a boyfriend.
I know. Ivan agrees, by the way.
That heâs hot?
Yes.
Heâs sitting on the other side of the room. When did you have time to discuss this??
Just now. Right in front of you. What did you think all that eyebrow-waggling was about?
I thought you were having a stroke. Merlin, the two of you are perfect for each other.
Donât change the subject. Heâs not gay, is he? Your friend? All the hot ones usually are.
I wouldnât know, now, would I? I havenât heard anything about him in years. Ivy, leave him alone. Please donât harass the poor guy, sexually or otherwise. And quit it with the notes. Heâll notice.
How??? Has he got eyes on the back of his very nicely shaped head? Heâs busy with Flitwick anyway.
Trust me, heâll see. Nothing gets past Theodore Nott.
Monday, 2.15 pm, Potions
Well?????
Well, what?
The chat!!! Your chat!!!!!! With Mr. Theodore Nott!!!!!!!!
You have to quit it with the caffeine. Youâre far too excitable after lunch.
The chat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It was fine. It wasâŠnice.
Uh-huh.
He goes by Theo now.
Okay. Iâll pretend I care about that.
It was all very casual, very superficial. It was really just us exchanging pleasantries. Oh, right. He asked me to accompany him to Quidditch tryouts.
You??? But you hate Quidditch.
I know.
Please tell me you didnât say that.
I didn't. I just said I didnât know much about it.
And?
He said that didnât matter. He just wanted me there for moral support.
Then what was with all the turning red halfway through? You looked like you were going to combust.
Was it that obvious?
Ivan had some pumpkin juice ready, just in case.
It was nothing. I just wasnât expecting it, thatâs all. He called me his good luck charm.
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Youâre going to rip a hole through the parchment.
AWWWWW
So?? Did you say yes??
I said Iâd think about it.
BOOOOOOOO
Come on, Vee. Heâs been flying since before he could walk. He always talked about joining the big leagues, you know. He knows everything there is to know about Quidditch, so of course heâll make the team. And itâll have nothing to do with me.
But he doesnât even have any friends yet :(
Thatâs because he hasnât talked to anyone yet.
Yâknow, Romilda Vane wanted to know why he was talking to you of all people.
Whatâs that supposed to mean??
Eh, you know. You can be a littleâŠsnippy.
I am NOT snippy.
There it is. The snippiness.
Whatever. Itâs all so pointless. Come Thursday evening, heâll have joined the Quidditch team and heâll be hanging out with, yâknow, those people, and weâll be ancient history. Heâll make plenty of friends. He just doesnât know it yet.
Okay. If you say so. Also, at lunch, I finally tried that thing youâre always talking about, âapplying myself,â and I found this article on his dad in the library. From 6 years ago.
Donât you want to know what the article said?
You could have mentioned he was a death eater, you know.
I donât care about that, by the way. You used to be friends and thatâs good enough for me. But, Y/N, he was arrested six years ago. And you havenât talked to Theo in six years. But there isnât any kind of connection between those, is there?
Y/N?
Do not make me throw this at you. I know how you feel about paper cuts.
Tuesday, 3.03 pm, Defence Against the Dark Arts
Whereâs your friend?
?
You know. Who youâre always passing notes with in class?
You noticed?
Hard not to. It makes you all fidgety and annoyed.
Yeah, well, Ivyâs an annoying person.
Iâll take your word for it. What do you have after this?
Transfiguration.
Wow. Thatâs one of the harder ones, isnât it?
Er, depends on who you ask, I think.
Still brilliant as ever, then.
Shut up. Iâm not half the swot I was in primary school.Â
I never thought you were a swot. You were justâŠenthusiastic.
Thatâs sweet of you to say, Theo.
Huh. I thought Iâd always be Teddy to you.
Weâre not ten anymore, Theo. I can say your name perfectly now.
Thatâs good. So, have you thought about it?
Thought about what?
The Quidditch tryouts. Youâre the only person I know here so you have to say yes.
I donât know. Some of the girls look pretty interested in getting to know you.
What?
Nothing. I guess I could swing by for a short while.
Thatâs my girl.
Thursday, 8.37 pm, Common Room
SO?????
He got in. Obviously. Was there ever any doubt?
Did he run up to you? Did he hug you? Did he pick you up and spin you around???
Witch Weekly is a bad influence on you.
Details, please.
He hugged me. Kind of. Nearly tackled me, he was so excited.
you are SO his good luck charm!!!!!!
Friday, 11.17 am, Defence Against the Dark Arts
Witch Weekly?
Itâs not mine. Iâm holding it for a friend.
Right.
Really, I am. Ivyâs a fiend for these but she has this Charms test coming up that she absolutely cannot fail.
I believe you. âTop 6 Magical Contraceptives for the Modern Witchâ doesnât sound like your kind of reading material.
Iâm sorry, I didnât mean to embarrass you. I was only having a little fun.
Iâm not embarrassed. Are you embarrassed?
Erm, no, but youâre very red. Do you need to see the Healer?
Iâm fine. Itâs just hot. And no one calls Madam Pomfrey âthe Healer,â by the way.
Ah. I see.
Is there a point to all this? Did you need to ask something?
Oh, right. What are you up to on Saturday night?
Saturday? DunnoâŠwanted to take a crack at that Transfiguration essay.
Excellent. Iâll pick you up at 8.
Oh?
Itâs nothing. A couple of the guys on the team wanted to celebrate with drinks at Hogsmeade. Everyoneâs bringing someone, and I thought it would be nice if you came. Being my good luck charm, and all.
Oh, Theo, you probably donât know this since youâre new and all, but going down to Hogsmeade is only permissible on certain weekends. And only start a couple of weeks into the term, so not yet.
Did you just -? Oh my god, you did. You laughed at me. You laughed at my note. Out loud. Youâre lucky youâre in Slytherin, you know. Snape usually goes absolutely ballistic if anyone interrupts his lesson.
Iâm sorry, I forgot what a stickler you were. I just - I didnât think Iâd miss it.
Please, Theo, forget the drinks. I cannot in good conscience stand by and let you break so many rules. Youâve been here less than a week!
Guess youâll have to keep an eye on me. Make sure I stay out of trouble.
Exactly.
Great. See you Saturday at 8.

Expanding on this because I think thereâs a good point being made here.
Some trans people do support gender abolition halfway. They think sexism is bad and they want everyone to be able to dress and act however they want. But they donât support gender abolition in the radical sense, where it means that people see them as masculinized females and feminized males. The breaking point is when people start to see them as a member of their biological sex.
Gender abolition is a feminist concept. In feminist gender abolition, âgenderâ itself is defined as the roles and norms assigned to females by the patriarchy which keep women subordinate. So gender abolition is about breaking down the gender norms that primarily oppress women, so that we can all be on an equal playing field.
Real gender abolition means that it doesnât matter if someone is female or male, our sex shouldnât define anything else about us or about how society treats us. There would be no gender norms to oppress anyone.
In the ideal world of gender abolition, some people may want to change their sex for various reasons, but I donât think they would have âgender dysphoriaâ as we see it today. It would probably be more of a feeling of curiosity or jealousy at most. People would likely just get over it, considering there is no way to truly know what itâs like to be the opposite sex.
What trans people talk about as âgender abolitionâ is either just about people dressing how they want, or itâs actually something like sex abolition. The ideal world of sex abolition is one in which people stop seeing biological sex and stop thinking biological sex is important. Everything is mixed, lots of people are androgynous, sex doesnât matter, there are no sex-specific spaces.
That idea is:
1. Impossible. Our human brains are extremely good at recognizing biological sex. The idea that the average trans person can ever become truly androgynous is based in an unrealistic fantasy.
And
2. Anti-feminist. Females have different bodies and different needs than males. Females are subject to the bulk of sex-based violence and sexual assault. Breaking down the categories of sex, breaking down the sex-specific resources in healthcare, sports, and social support, breaking down the spaces females need in order to feel safe in a sexist world, is anti-feminist and misogynistic.
Itâs impossible for trans people to be in favor of gender abolition. Their identities are based on traditional gender norms staying the way they are.
Trans women donât want cis women to stop acting and dressing in a traditionally âfeminineâ manner. Trans women donât want cis women to be liberated from the oppression that causes them to spend hours picking out clothes, doing their hair, and putting on makeup.
Because if cis women stopped doing those things, everyone would understand that womanhood is not defined by those things. If cis women stopped doing those things, everyone would see how different trans women are, whose performance of those rituals is the only proof they have of their so-called âinnate womanhoodâ.
It would all fall apart if cis women stopped performing patriarchal femininity.

Perception is a funny thing. Subjective. And that was something you had learned very early on in life. Working in Nevermore as an empath is always interesting, you get your fair share of teen angst, puppy love, stress, frustration and your personal favourite curiosity. Feeling the students around you often gives you a great insight into how your lesson will go. Perhaps thatâs why your classes are known to be the better behaved ones, you tailor your lessons to their moods. Despite your desire to be an open and honest person, all of Nevermore believe you to be a confident, outspoken at times and charming alpha. All expect one. Your masculine leaning appearance only adds fuel to their preconceived idea of you. Peopleâs opinions of you never really bothered you, learning itâs best to allow them to think what they want. As long as youâre true to yourself then thatâs all that matters to you. Your status is not something you deem to be important public knowledge.
As the principal of Nevermore, it was unsurprising that people naturally assumed Larissa Weems was nothing but a beta. Her calm fair nature combined with the uniqueness of her striking appearance only supported the idea. Truthfully, being a private woman, this never bothered Larissa Weems, she quite liked the idea of the public version of her and the real her, hidden behind closed doors. People often say itâs exhausting, pretending to be someone you are not. Larissa would have to disagree with that statement.
Dating Larissa Weems was nothing short of heavenly. Sure her being your boss could be seen as problematic but for both of you it was no issue. The connection you shared with the shifter was like no other youâd ever had the pleasure to experience. She was the first one to ask you rather than guess based on her perception. You were the first one who showed true and unconditional love. You knew first hand how others opinions could affect others so it was only natural you would want to ensure Larissa felt nothing but warmth and love.
The first time your suppressants ran out was only a month into your relationship. Exam season in Nevermore was always stressful but it didnât help that your pharmacy had no refill for your prescription. It didnât particularly bother you that people would find out the truth, you were more scared for her reaction. Of course she immediately noticed the change in your scent. Naturally she didnât want to say anything and potentially cause upset but soon enough it became physically impossible to hide. Your heat hit hard and if youâd been able to concentrate on anything other than the slick between your plush thighs you wouldâve noticed that poor Larissa was sent spiralling hard and fast into an unexpected rut.
Desire. Need. Lust. All you felt in the moment. It made thinking with a clear mind difficult for you both. However, just like you suspected, the newfound knowledge changed nothing. Well. Thatâs a lie. But you like to argue it changed for the better for you both. A safe haven where you could both be what you were made to be. Larissa loving taking the caring dominant role over you, protecting you from any possible threat. You adore being hers, pleasing her, cooking for her. Anything that woman needs your there and ready to do whatever it takes. Not to say sheâs not the same for you, you love how her frame towers over your body as she holds you to her chest. The feeling of safety and comfort was all you ever desired. A true Alpha to your omega. True bond. Bound together by fate. Yet nothing changed around Nevermore. The days flowed as they usually did but behind closed doors, it was all different.
Wednesday had well and truly pushed every one of Larissaâs buttons. The principal being left pacing her office as she waits for you to join her for the evening. It amazes you how well Wednesday can rile your lover up. Although it shouldnât be surprising because her not he is the same. Most assume you become overwhelmed with jealousy and thatâs why you donât like Mortica Addams. If only they knew what a riled up Larissa Weems meant behind closed doors. No. You hate the emotional scars morticia left in her wake. Long deep jagged cuts all over Larissaâs fragile heart.
âRissa?â You muttered quietly, drawing the woman from her frustrated thoughts. When did you come in? Immediately, your scent washed over her tight frame, muscles began to loosen subconsciously. A direct response. You however could only whimper as her emotional state crashed into your small frame. âWhat can I do my love?â Within a few strides she was towering over you, a smirk plastered on her ruby lips as she growled, âI wanna make you feel so good you forget your own name. I need to fuck you darling.â
You couldnât even draw a breath before she was slamming your body back against her heavy mahogany door. Helpless. âMommy needs her good girlâ she practically purred as she nipped and licked over the column of your throat, your pulse thumping under her warm muscle. Really itâs unfair, how can you do anything but surrender to her pure dominance. Tiny moans escaping you as your brain grappled to form a response. To consent to what would soothe you both. âPleaseâ you gasped, hands pawing at her dress that was snug to her hips. How could she not give you everything when you flash those needy doe eyes her way and use such pretty manners?
Her toned thigh made contact with your pulsing clit with a practiced ease, her hands being the only thing keeping you upright as you worked yourself pathetically quickly to an orgasm. The scent of your alpha mixed with the pleasure she was happily providing you created the open road to bliss. Larissa prides herself on just how little she can do before youâre hurtling off the edge. How she could quite literally command you to fuck your pretty pussy for her, putting on a show as all she does is watch. The first orgasm never takes too long for her pull from you. You canât help but whine when she moves her now slick coated thigh from your heat. âHush my love, you know mommy will take care your needy cunt. Iâd never leave my pretty girl all needy would I?â
Somewhere in the blissful haze the pair of you moved to your bedroom next door and the clothing was stripped from you both, her goddess like figure on full display for your eager eyes to devour. âMommyâ you whimpered, every letter dripped with need. âI havenât ruined my pretty girls brain already have I? Mommy wants more sweet girl you understand that donât you?â Her condescending tone added an edge you didnât know you needed, instinctively your legs fell open, exposing your puffy red soaked slit. âHmm pretty girl, that was too easy, perhaps you need to be reminded whoâs in control here. Canât have MY girl spreading her legs for anybody now can I?â
Larissa couldnât help but drive straight in, to get a taste of you like a starving woman. You simply taste delicious. Like nothing sheâd ever tasted before. Your arousal coating her tongue was one of her favourite things in the world. The rich taste, the way she could flick your bundle of nerves with the tip of her tongue and youâd respond with such a pretty mewl of pleasure, your core flooding with more for her to feast on. Your hand immediately found its home in her silver strands of hair, gripping and tugging on them as your hips bucked toward her sinful mouth. God the way her nose would bump into your clit as she plunged her tongue into your soaked little hole as her both of you moaning like wild animals. A perfectly timed dance, as old as fate itself.
Larissa prides herself on being an attentive alpha. You are on your third climax of the night before she even realises sheâs now painfully hard. Her appendage standing tall and proud. Ready for action. The tip angry, red and leaking. The sight of you gasping for air as you come back down to earth, pupils blown wide with a messy pussy drive her wild. Yet sheâs not done yet. You breasts need to be marked. Every inch. Hers. Thatâs what you are and sheâll mark you as many times as it takes for every one to know. Her slender fingers toying with your perky nipples as she remarks her claim on your neck. Itâs enough stimulation alongside the physical sensation being bestowed on your breasts that sends you hurling over the edge again. Tears brimming in your eyes at the pure force of the orgasm rippling through your body. Chest heaving as the shifter leans back to take you in. âPretty baby, such a messy girl for mommy. I know my girl needs more. Beg for it darling. Tell mommy what you want.â It takes a few attempts before you manage to breathlessly stumble out âI - I want y-you to come I-inside me this time. Please. I want to make you feel goodâ
Trying to sit up on shaky limbs is a trial and a half, but nothing would stop you from pleasing her. Your lover treats you so well, itâs only fair to repay her. âPleaseâ you pleaded peering up at her through your eyelashes. A simple plea but simply too cute to resist. âGo ahead sweetheart, show mommy how much you want her cock in that sweet little pussy of yours.â Instinctively you bent to take the member between your plump lips, cheeks hollowing around her as you swirled your tongue around the leaking tip. A little pleased moan left you to vibrate along her shaft. âOh good girl. Thatâs my girl. Such a good cock sucker for mommyâshe praised. Yet it was short lived. Larissa would say she has good stamina, but youâd got her so desperate she could burst from just your mouth. And you both wanted her to be inside of your warmth when she burst. âOffâ was all she offered before tugging you off by her grip in your hair, âmy sweet girls such a good girl for my dick, but I want to be inside your sweet cunt when I burst. Fuck my babies into you until youâre begging mommy to stop. You want my knot right darling? My cock buried snuggly into your cervix as I fill you to the brim?â
If you thought she was all talk, that thought died as she sunk her cock in. Slowly. Inch by inch. She wanted you to feel every stretch, every vein, every twitch. âLook at how well you take me pretty girlâ she moaned taking in the sight she was pleading you to look at. Her hand settled around your throat, lightly pressing you into the mattress and drawing to her full height. âPretty thing with my hand like a necklaceâ her murmured thought was cut off by a loud pitch moan filling the room. Any final restraint broke like a damn. Primal needs filling the older woman as she drew out to just the tip before slamming back into you. Blissfully unaware of the world outside the door is what you were. Her hand wrapped round your throat, her constant pounding of your tight little hole, the sinful grunts coming from her as she kept her almost animalistic pace. Striving to hit the spot that makes your eyes roll back into your head as you coat her thick cock with your slick. Incoherent whimpers babbling out of your mouth among the slight choking sounds she was pulling from you only aid in green lighting Larissa to climax.
âMommyâ you whined, haphazardly reaching to paw at her bare chest, âso full. So good.â The praise giving her the drive to pound you just a little harder causing you both to tumble over the edge together. Long spurts of white hot sticky seed raced to your womb as you milked Larissa for all she had, inner walls gripping her knot so tight that she couldnât help but spill more into your awaiting core. âFuck darlingâ she panted as her arms gave out, her head finding its way to where her mark on you lay. It would be a while before Larissa could even considering pulling out of you. Even then she knew youâd beg to be like this for a little longer. To stay full and connected. And who would she be to deny her precious omega of anything? There would come a time she would slip from your now gaping hole and shush your cries of displeasure before setting to work on caring for you. Cleaning you up with a warm rag, bath filled with lavender salts running as she grabs you a drink before lifting you effortlessly in her arms to the tub. Soaking together in the post orgasmic bliss before drying off and drifting off to slumber wrapped in her strong arms.

Moffat, Sexy Women, and More 80s Who Complaints:
Note: I am a woman and everything I'm saying is my opinion as an individual woman and not an attempt to represent women as a whole. We're like half the world's population. We're not gonna agree on everything.
I'm just gonna randomly say a bit about the Moffat era and women that's sort of a defense in an "this still feels better than other things" sort of way.
Look, I will not deny that the Moffat era (mostly 11's part) has some issues with women. Most of it, at least for me, has less to do with how the female characters are written and more to do with how the male characters address them (Let's Kill Hitler, I'm looking at you).
But, one thing that bothers other people that doesn't bother me as much is the sexualization. This is mostly compared to what came before it.
For me, because sexuality isn't an inherently negative thing, a character of any gender being sexualized isn't automatically a bad thing. It's more of a matter of subject vs. object.
To illustrate my point, let's bitch about 80s Who for a bit.
Now, when I say 80s Who, I'm mostly referring to the Saward Era (seasons 19-23/5th and 6th Doctors). Ace wasn't really sexualized in the same way the companions before her were.
If you dig through this blog, you'll find that this is sort of the third in a miniseries about various issues with 80s companions that mostly come down to something about gender. With Tegan, it's that she's an outspoken woman and treated negatively for it. With Turlough, it's that the EU tries to downplay the more gender-nonconforming aspects of his character, which admittedly mostly happened by accident.
This time, I'm talking about Peri. Peri was heavily sexualized but in a way that I don't particularly like. It ultimately comes down to how the era handles sexuality in general.
JNT was more of a marketing guy than a creative guy, but his ideas of marketing the show ended up contradicting one another. On one hand, he wanted to avoid controversy. Doctor Who had a bit of a history of controversy, though most of it was about how violent it was, something this era of the show clearly did not care about. Instead, the primary JNT/Saward obsession was with sex. It had to be clear that the Doctor did not fuck and never had. But, this sort of extended to the companions as well. 60s and 70s Who would occasionally give companions one-off love interests. This didn't happen a lot, but there was a history of it dating back to The Daleks, where Barbara makes out with one of the Thals for a bit. In 80s Who, the only time a companion got a love interest was right as she was leaving the show and that was a last minute change.
(Side Note: I'd once again like to comment that Doctor Who wrote women better in 1964 than in 1984 and that Barbara is a great character. The worst thing Moffat every did was have Twice Upon a Time trick people into thinking of this era as The Sexist One.)
You might be wondering, "so what? It's a kids show. Of course nobody's gonna be horny!". And yeah. There's absolutely nothing wrong with that. The problem is that the show isn't horny, but it is sexy.
What I mean: Horny is sexuality in-universe. It's the characters having sexual attraction and interests. Sexy is sexuality out-of-universe. It's characters being attractive to the audience.
Peri is the ultimate example of this. She's completely normal for this era of the show when it comes to sexuality. It's not really a thing and when it is it leads to almost immediate marriage. But, she's always dressed in revealing outfits. In Planet of Fire, she's on vacation in a warm region, so that makes sense, but she continues to dress that way everywhere she goes.
Peri is sexualized as fanservice for the audience and for villainous characters to leer at to make them more threatening. Her personality doesn't really match her choice of outfits. It's all for the benefit of the audience and a justification for creepy bad guy behavior.
I mentioned before the sexual subject vs. object. A subject does while an object is done to. A subject looks while an object is looked at. When a character's sexuality isn't an aspect of their character, existing primarily as something for the audience and other characters to leer at, she's a sexual object. And that sucks.
The reason Moffat's sexualization of characters like Amy and River doesn't bother me is that they do not have this problem. The women in this era are just as horny as the men. It's clear that these characters are the sort of people who'd choose to wear the outfits they wear. Yes, it's still fanservice written that way due to Moffat's horniness, but the female characters he writes have sexual agency. They're sexy because they're horny. They flirt with people they're attracted to. They're not just being leered at by the audience and other characters. They're looking as well as being looked at. They actively participate in the show's sexuality. They are sexual subjects.
Of course this doesn't work all the time. There's a lot of "men are horny idiots about women" jokes. When it comes to other aspects of female characters, there's a lot of talk of them being overly emotional and focused on romantic relationships. This did get better over time, being less of a thing with Clara and basically not a thing at all with Bill. I think Moffat was aware of the criticism he was getting and learned from his mistakes. But mistakes were certainly made.
But, though Moffat was obviously horny for his female characters, he them sexual agency. It might not be for everyone but it meant that the horniness of the era didn't bother me.
Besides, I'm horny for Moffat's female companions too. Is it morally different because I'm a woman being horny in a gay way?
#steven moffat#amy pond#river song#peri brown#moffat apologism#better than the 80s might be a weak argument#maybe i just wanted to analyze my own brand of feminism#please do not treat this post as a declaration of war

One can argue that modernity is by definition the absence of form and that everything can change but either way again I completely disagree with the notion that there is no other way it could be successful. And many fans even got disappointed at the changes and all. Again we have so much connected the idea of "retelling" with "forget the plot" sometimes and it shows to all the "modern retellings" how they miss the point of the material they ellegedly adapt by a mile. Is your opinion and good for you to have it but again I disagree big time. It is a matter of marketing sometimes and like I said many people got disappointed at the changes as well. Many even said "we ignored the changes because music was good" and again i disagree. You might claim that and I can counter we shall never know again I disagree that you cannot be lore accurate. That is my opinion that's all.
I never meant to say over 3 hours although i see why it comes out this way. I meant 3 hours is a length that one expects a performance to have. And again I said many times over that he doesn't need to adapt every single moment of the Odyssey and turn it into a 5 hour thing. I said it would be better to be lore accurate. I literally said nothing of speeding up. Where on earth did that come from? On the contrary. In fact the last saga WAS sped up and it showed to the narrative.
Actually they were not to the Odyssey but to epic cycle and AGAIN that is exactly what I said. I said the first two sagas proved that you can have a LOOSE ADAPTATION (not 100% acurate) and STILL be lore-acurate. Astyanax incident was spoken in just one line in the Iliou Persis. It was given a reason in the musical. THAT is what I expect to see in an adaptation; liberties that work WITH the plot and fill in some gaps. Not something that says "fuck the plot I'll do whatever" that is not an adaptation in my mind or at least not a good one but it also depends on the media.
And I never said you did?! đ€·ââïž I said that is the feeling I got from some people who loved the musical who couldn't understand my dislike for it. Where did I say you said that? I said that they state their opinion on THAT matter like you express your opinion on THIS matter. And again why can't you accept that someone has a different idea on what a retelling is? You can say it is. I say it isn't because I do not agree in this method and a story that ignores the most basic parts of a plot does not count as a retelling in my book. It is an original story inspired by a material.
I put the emoji for a reason my friend. I was only half serious on that answer. I am honored you enjoyed my posts which is why also I engage with you and I express my opinion sincerely and directly because I believe we can be honest with each other. And when I said "don't expect me to change my mind" I meant that as an emphasis that I respect your opinion but I would continue to express the same thought and say that I disagree. If that offended you in any way that was not my intention. I see that you are passionate on your subject and I am on mine so I only "warned you" that my answer will still be the same. I NEVER said you are trying to push your opinion on me now I believe YOU shouldn't misunderstand me. I only mention that my opinion will continue to be the same.
And I said a hundred times already that I do not say you try to do the same and I also said that I didn't feel like that with most of fans either. You keep insisting on that but again all I said was that I disagree with you. Why do you feel attacked? If my previous reply seemed harsh I am sorry but again I didn't say you tried to push your opinion I only state what I do with mine.
Okay right back at you. I feel that you are not listening what I say. I again said I do not consider it a retelling because it literally respects nothing of the plot. It is not re-telling the story it is a writing of a new one (again that is my opinion). You disagreed and I disagree. Why do you keep saying that I accuse you of something? Also I said a million times you do not need a word for word thing to have a loyal adaptation. I also stated it a hundred times. Cutting is inevitable. THIS amount of change was optional.
I see. You definitely are free to do so. Honestly it is sad that it comes this way but you absolutely can and you have the right to do so. I am sorry you felt this way perhaps that is because I express my opinion too passionately the same as you. It happens. I am sorry that it comes this way. No I do not block people. If others wish to block me is up to them. It wouldn't be the first time. It is up to you. You do not need to earn Mr for it and I do not live for followers or people who block me
I know I am not a pleasant person and never claimed to be. I am who I am. If that is so unpleasant to you that you wish nothing to do with me is up to you really. No need to warn me about it.
You realize that a fandom has gone off the rails or that it has REALLY taken over when you see "Epic the Musical" tagged under images of Achilles and Patroclus! Like...how are two characters who were both dead by the taking of Troy, yet alone by Odyssey who do not appear not even as a mention for the Underworld as they were in the Odyssey, relatable to this?!
Sorry! XD
#so thinking someone is wrong counts as an attack? you came to the post to tell me i am wrong and i can argue i am not either#i didnât know that disagreeing with someone counts as an attack#responding things you never said? i literally said nothing that you didnât say i bring up my reasoning behind my opposition to what you say#i didn't have particularly bad experience with epic fans like i said before#basically we disagree on the notion of liking#but i never said that you agreed with everything he did either#i mean i didnât say anything rude to you i am not sure how this counts as ânot kindâ. we have a disagreement that's all#there doesn't need to be someone right or wrong#if i sounded rude i am sorry but i am only stating my opinion on the matter

I fear that Alfons's route will be just as emotionally taxing as Elbert's and I'll miss using my tickets in time just like I did in Elbert's route because my brain's had enough emotions and miss finishing the mission board again
#hoping the sylvatica specialist sees this and lets me know how much I should prepare emotionally#rambling and cw for mentioning the fictional SA in the tags#like... dark content rarely bugs me. I consume it all the time#But Elbert's route effected me a lot more than I thought it would and I don't think anything's ever made me feel like that#to the point I can't really put it into words#just because of the subject matter (the servants) and how very well it and his discomfort was portrayed#And I did see the content warnings for Elbert's route from fans. I had a strong idea of what his backstory was like and I was right#and it still hit me harder than any fictional media I've consumed#I just want to know if I should expect something worse or on the same level or not as bad#because some details I've noticed are making me worried#specifically in Between Two Villains when Elbert said Alfons was assisting the doctor and we already know what the doctor was willing to do#and I don't think Elbert is the type of person to come up with a cover story#ever since Elbert's route I tend to assume the worst possibility for a backstory/trauma#so yeah I really want to be able to finish the route panel mission this time#but I don't know how much to emotionally prepare or how to emotionally prepare#ikevil#ikemen villains#ikevil alfons#alfons sylvatica#elbert greetia#ikevil elbert

wanted to say I appreciate your nuanced takes on MW and especially Curly. i don't get the claim that the fandom is full of Curly apologists when majority (esp yt and tiktok) say he's worse than Jimmy. Yes there's commentary about bro culture defending people, he def messed up in trying to placate Jimmy (tbh "we'll fix this" sounded more like trying to keep someone prone to outbursts like Jim calm and not hurt Anya/himself) but I don't think he did nothing to help Anya, since she continued to confide in him and he had less than a week to resolve it before the crash (I also don't get everyone saying he knew for ages when it seems like Anya told him that same week). I get Jimmy's a pos but saying stuff like Curly should've known he'd crash the ship or that Jim had a criminal record he ignored, reducing them to obviously horrible villain and willfully ignorant sidekick feels like a disservice to the game. If your best friend turned out to be horrible, what would you do in a confined space in the span of a few days to respond? I'd say some of the horror comes from trying to do good but ultimately failing, Curly's state after the crash is meant to be tragic horror not revenge/punishment
Thank you and this is what I want to get across.
A lot of information we have to supplement when it comes to how long things have been happening on this current ship. I think people try to add on to the horror and negligence by making things more obvious so it can feel like it was easier to avoid when, true to life, its not. Jimmy clearly didn't deserve or appreciate what Curly did for him in getting him the job, but do you think if Jimmy was that big of a menace on Earth he would've given him a position where he could have that level of power over people's lives? There's something in the fact he specifically chose to pick a position so close to himself where he could watch Jimmy.
I hate the bro code argument because that is a whole can of worms people really don't get. That sort of mentality is born from the general respect and preference of male matter over female ones. Curly is clearly not that guy, he is absent minded about the issue and inadvertently dismissive but he clearly believes Anya, he just can't understand what she's going through. It's an onslaught of information that no one really reacts right to. Additonally, the entire discussion of her assualt plays to heavy into the idea that there is fault outside of the perpertratior when it comes to SA. It's too close if she only did this or if Curly had protected her better but the fact of the matter is Jimmy did what he did. He did it before any of the conversations with Anya about it and it's why her behavior seemed to change so drastically in those last two days.
He has other conflicting thought and while his role as a Captain should've taken over, people act like it's not a very human thing to have such a toxic presence cloud your judgement. It is never easy to separate friend from coworker once that connection is formed, you want to help them, especially if they were friend first and for a long while like in this case. It's not right, but people act like it would be easy when the game clearly points out that no choice is easy to make, especially when you have to make it for more than one person. You have the weigh the consequences, look at all the options and make a plan. People can headcanon and decide how long things where happening, but if we look at what we were presented through the characters eyes, the only person given time to do that was Jimmy.
He waited two months after the crash to appoint himself Captain. Every time a problem was brought up he immediately took action and refused to sit on it and find a better solution. I think it's important to look at the warped way Jimmy takes initiative where Curly didn't as it works as a good contrast of why you don't just run in to "fix" things. The quickest and easiest option may not be the safest or most beneficial. I think some thoughts on the game suffer from the black and white thinking the game doesn't operate on along with us being voyeurs. We see what exactly led to what but the characters don't. They don't have the hindsight and foresight we do and even ours is scrambled by the non-linear story telling.
Like it's hard to talk abuou those grey zones without sounding like an apologist because you're explaining why taking responsibility isn't easy. It's not and it's weird to act like it would be in a scenerio that led up to the events of the game knowing what we know. We see all these characters in such isolated moments with various things before, in between, after and even during we aren't privy too. The idea that Jimmy is worse than Curly heavily banks on the words Jimmy was saying to Jimmy before he crashed the ship. That whatever happened on the ship was his responsibility to bare, which is true due to his position. But, are they not still not responsible for taking the actions Curly then must bare?
Like i feel like people think that these are situation that become easier with age or when you are in a postion of authority and they aren't. You don't lose your biases or gain some sudden knowledge that makes it easier. It just becomes more tiring as you keep dealing with it. I would be first in line to say Curly fucked up and should've done more but the idea he knew how bad it could get or he really saw the worst in the people around him and ignored it pretty much ignores a huge aspect of his character and the game.
#i do believe Anya was a victum to Jimmy more than once before the crash but the game plays wit the sort of fear of waiting and stagnation#i believe the reason she decided to tell him was becasuse she finally broke down and tested to see if she was pregnant after one too many#signs and its why she went to hide the gun because she knew now that there was proof of what Jimmy did and was he would do anything to#cover it up and while she also didn't want the baby there was no sure fire way to safely induce a miscarriage or abortion cause shes smart#enough to know that hence her reading the illusion of choice and taking measures to protect herself#but in the hypothetical it was a one time occurence I think Jimmy would act like one single mistake shouldn't define him and Anya thinks#that if she did something sooner or said something sooner than she or Curly could've stopped all of it but that the hard thing taking actio#its so hard to be preventative to a person like they also have the autonomy to do things and no one on the ship is okay with actively takin#that away outside of Jimmy that its just a delicate issue and people act like it was a conscious choice not to help when he just helped#wrong he did wrong by not immediately punishing Jimmy but at the same time did he even fully get it yet? Jimmy immediately got into his hea#after like the sound design right before he confront him is telling like every track sort of gives you the feeling of the characters where#we cant see their thoughts because again the only two characters pov we get are Jimmy's and Curly's and even then we only get Curly's thru#the responsibilites he has to take like he is always tasked with something because thats his role but we rarely see him do something off hi#own volition cause hes a metaphorical cog in many of the machines the games comments on but he's not actively pulling a switch#also i think people latch on to the we can both be heros things too much when analyzing Curly because Curly very much is not happy being th#leader and current âheroâ of the Tulpar he just wants out in a way that doesn't hurt and while he is still responsible for not doing more#the idea he could've easily nipped this in the butt acts like Jimmy was not a beast of his own and that he made Jimmy into the person he wa#vs the fact that Jimmy is a person on his own right that makes these choices others are forced to take responsibility for when he simply c#couldve not done evil shit like at the end of the day Curly is not perfect but not nearly or remotely as bad as Jimmy because for that hed#have to not care hed have to not have tried hed have to not try to take responsibility and he did just not in the right way but thats#subjective to the person and you can only realize you did fuck up after the results are before you and its tragic like this game is a#a tragedy no matter how you try and spin it. There's lessosn to be learnt but at the end of the day it telling the worst moments of peoples#lives and the certain inevitabilities that come with it#mouthwashing#mouthwashing game#curly mouthwashing#captain curly#nurse anya#anya mouthwashing#jimmy mouthwashing

mommm white people on tumblr are misconstruing my posts again despite the post being entirely about how important wording is + how i donât feel comfortable posting large statements when i havenât fully processed them yet.
#if you want to put me on a blocklist for loving netanyahu you can! i donât! and no matter how many times i get told i do#i still donât!#i literally said i hope his balls get cut off IN THAT POST#i donât know how that read as unclear.#perhaps there are no hidden genocidal messages behind the wording of my tumblr posts - who knows!#when i said i cared about every single civilian living in that land i meant it. if you decide that i actually donât thatâs not my problem#if you somehow took my words and decided that what i really meant is that iâm a government bootlicker who loves murder#you can do that all you want. it wonât make it true and it wonât help save any lives#i was in ramallah and jerusalem six months ago. have you gone?#if the answer is no maybe think about that for a second#moreover if youâre viewing this from a purely racial or religious framework you have no idea how to navigate this subject#i donât view israel and palestine through which government i want to back. why the fuck would i do that#palestinians and jews and everyone else in that land is who i care about. i care about gazans#if thatâs not enough of âa sideâ for you i donât really think thereâs much of a conversation to be had.#do you think i wake up every day NOT thinking about gaza? do you think i wouldnât feel nauseous every second of every day because of gaza?#do you think that within everything iâm saying that the most logical conclusion would be to post all of my thoughts on tumblr?#because if you think any of that weâre not going to have a productive conversation. i donât take kindly to being told my own emotions

Every day I am haunted by the fact JJK could be amazing but it will be just idk Bleach or something
#I've seen a lot of people complaining about the fact that it's impossible to fit the ending of every unfinished arc#in the five chapters that remain for the manga to end for good#And it all just... legitimises my fear and apprehension haha#And it's a pity! It's a pity! The dynamics were so good! And yet nothing! Sukuna was so good! And yet nothing!#It was so nice how he seemed to play with the idea of transcending human categories and values but even the values of curses so to speak#Well beyond everything. Well beyond positive/creative nihilism even! He was not like Mahito#I wonder if Mahito is more a negative nihilism with a funny edge or a positive nihilism. For now it seems positive#with how he seems to have said something like 'nothing matters so we can do whatever we want and create what matters'#But Sukuna transcends all that! It could have been interesting to see how that developed in a way that wasn't just childish edginess#But no. And then there's all the idea of curses and sorcerers not being all that different#and so not really entirely possible to say one side is good and the other bad#There was the idea of the very source of powers with fear and love playing a role here in such a juicy way#And then there's the entire thing happening with Gojo as a concept and the very concepts he plays with which I could eat like an apple#but also I would let those very concepts eat at my heart as a worm inside an apple#Full of holes and rotting inside out and yet delighting at the sweetness#It could all be so good! And yet! Most of the manga is a few sketched dynamics and concepts and a very long fight with Sukuna#promising half finished arcs#WHY it could have been so good. And I don't think criticism is a matter of 'fans being spoiled! Go write your story!' or something#It's not a matter of things not going as fans would want them to be. It's a matter of not writing well#or cohesively things established by the author themselves. And I think that's a fair criticism#If we are to take manga as an artâ which I wholeheartedly supportâ#then we can subject mangas to artistic or literary or whatever you want to call it analysis. There are works that are better constructed#than othersâ and there are works that have good ideas but poor execution. And it's always a pity#In the case of JJK it's truly breaking my heart and the comments I see around about these five last chapters are not helping xD#God it could be so good. So good. And I'm not talking about in specific to meâ which yes that too given the topicsâ#but just so good in general. It could be so good. It could have been so good#And yet it's starting to look more and more like any other shonen. It truly breaks my heart haha#I talk too much#Jujutsu Kaisen#I used Bleach because I think that's one of the mangas that has been the most a let down to the friends I have who like shonen

"For particularly important things, it's always more reassuring to write them down like this." - Zhang Beihai
[ID in alt text]
#my art#three body problem#3 body problem#zhang beihai#äžäœ#ç« ćæ”·#i've been meaning to draw three body problem characters and actually post them on my blog for quite some time!#so if anybody wants me to draw any specific character from the series feel free to reply here or send an ask as a request!#beihai is my top favorite and he resonated with me more than i expected! i rather liked bits of consequentialist philosophical ideas in him#anyways incoming ramble/infodump in the tags about various subjects pertaining to him#all you need to know about me is that i often lurk in chinese language fandom spaces and you might see commonalities in designs#if you see fanartists draw him with the broken eyebrow and mole then that's due to the æçäžäœ (my three-body) donghua adaptation!#admittedly i was introduced to the series through that adaptation years ago because it seemed rather absurd (minecraft haha) but oddly good#at least check out the third season (haven't seen the fourth one yet but that's ongoing actually) or listen to ć€èȘæ (night voyager)#i'm rather curious how fanartists on tumblr might tackle character designs since i mostly see the two live action adaptations here#i want to diverge my designs from any particular adaptation but my beihai design takes a lot from æçäžäœ!#now about beihai- i really enjoyed his characterization and i'd like to bring up a maybe unintentional parallel and foil with the eto#hopefully that's something new to add to the discussion about zhang beihai and here's what adaptations don't get about mike evans#in the book he's a character you mostly only hear about from others and he's known to be a private person#he conceals a lot of his thoughts from even people like ye wenjie + he taught the trisolarans about deceit#then his strategy to kill luo ji was to keep it low and make it seem like an accident which those obfuscations of thought parallels beihai#then evans says: âbut⊠it's obvious now that everywhere is the sameâ which is similar to beihai's âit doesn't matter. it's all the sameâ#the contexts differ but i think they're good foils about human nature âbeing the sameâ with evans's quote being about futility#then beihai's was about how regardless of if he survived or not- someone else would be able to carry on with his work#i have many other thoughts about beihai like how chu yan's (captain of blue space) group approach with the voting contrasts beihai#while beihai tried to bear the weight of attacking the other ships in solitude- chu yan made vengeance against trisolaris a group effort#(which that action goes against how the swordholder was a solitary role instead of a group one which is neat to me!)#i'd discuss more but i think that's enough to show that i really love zhang beihai (feel free to discuss the books with me though)
