"Are you telling me you want Feyre to destroy an entire Court-of allies against Hybern, dammit-just because of a love affair gone wrong?"
Right now you don't care much about the consequences your words will cause you, and you certainly don't care that you are raising your voice to the High Lord of the Court of Night. Rhysand merely stares at you with glacial violet eyes, his stern face painted with total indifference. Here is the one you hate: not your friend, but the High Lord. The one who reserves glances of superiority for you and makes you feel stupid every time you open your mouth. But it is not he who answers you, but rather Cassian, always the first to put Rhysand before everyone, before even himself.
"Speak more respectfully to your High Lady." You cannot stop your face from contorting into a grin. The concept of High Lady was invented by Rhysand and has no real value, you think, now they're going to resent Tamlin for that too? Besides the fact that Feyre has no political experience, hell, she wasn't even a Fae until recently, how do they expect her to lead a Court?
Mor, as usual interested in putting straw on the fire, speaks in a honeyed voice, "Are you still pining for Tamlin, Y/n? We thought that time was over." You feel your cheeks go flaming with anger. You want to respond, but Azriel, always the pacifist in the countless confrontations you've had with your friends, gets in the way. The blonde doesn't seem to relent even when the winged male tells her to stop, and your face shifts to Rhysand, who sits in his study chair settling more comfortably on the backrest, enjoying the show. There's no point in arguing, you think. You roll your eyes, and under everyone's gaze but without saying a word, you leave the room.
You love your family, but sometimes they really seem dumber than a goat. You are not a High Lady, no, and certainly your job does not include ruling a Court, but you know perfectly well too that whatever Feyre is doing is wrong. But you don't blame her: Rhysand can be persuasive, and probably the destruction of the Spring Court was more his idea than the Feyre's, he's still attached to events that happened five centuries ago.
You just don't understand, given the delicate period Prythian is going through, why tear down an entire Court. One more ally against Hybern. And above all, mixing politics and personal conflicts? Never a good idea. Not to mention Mor, and Rhysand's attitude. And... everything. You are tired, and with a sigh you walk out of the huge building and down the main street of Velaris, taking more time to think. Normally you would have winnoved in your apartment on the edge of town, but you feel the need to blow off some steam.
Too bad your little walk doesn't help, in fact. Seeing people so carefree and naive makes you see red, because they have that chance, and the rest of the Night Court doesn't. You've always tried to push the issue, trying to get as many women and children into Velaris as possible, but Rhysand has always been very firm about the rules. Slowly you realize that maybe they are not friends, or even family, as you allowed yourself to call them years ago. You don't share their choices, their ways, their governance. You don't share any thoughts. But you are stuck. Where could you possibly go?
You arrive home and the first thing you do is undress and prepare a hot bath. Once you are done, with only a towel you head into the small kitchen, determined to make yourself some tea and take a tonic to sleep, exhausted from this day.
At your table you find Azriel. That's right, you had forgotten that you now share an apartment with him. You greet him by calling his name, and he looks at you curiously, almost worriedly.
"Are you okay?" He asks, and you're not quite sure how to answer. Normally you are not so unhappy, but today's fight hit you hard. It has opened your eyes. Feyre, here for so little, is already more important than you. Not to mention how they make you feel inadequate and stupid, as if your opinion doesn't count for anything. You don't respond, not trusting your voice, and simply shrug. Azriel gets up and takes the tea-making supplies from your hands.
"I'll do it." He says kindly, and you murmur a thank you, and decide to get dressed in the meantime. When you return from your room, tea is poured into a steaming mug on the table.
"Two teaspoons of sugar, just the way you like it." This brings a smile back to your face, and you begin to sip the sweet liquid careful not to burn your tongue. "You can tell me what's going on, you know."
You think about it for a while before answering, but eventually decide that you have nothing to lose. "I don't want to be here anymore." Azriel looks at you surprised.
"Do you mean... in this apartment, or...?"
"No. I want to leave the Night Court. I don't want to work for Rhysand anymore, I'm exhausted." You sigh, and tears sting your eyes. Azriel looks at you sympathetically.
"Don't you feel at home anymore?" You shake your head, and are glad you confided in him. If anyone can understand you, it is certainly Azriel. He nods, silence takes over, and the only sound is the jarring sound of a teaspoon used to stir the tea, hoping to cool it slightly.
"Maybe you should leave, then." He says simply, his tone serene. You did not expect such a reaction, but you are grateful for it. A bitter laugh shakes your shoulders. "And where?"
Azriel shrugs. "Everywhere. Anywhere you want." I suppress his words by really considering it.
"What about Rhysand?"
"I could... help you." He says finally, and his words mean so much to you right now.
"Would you really do that?" He merely nods. "I ... thank you."
Not long after, the tea now cold and the cookies you kept inside the drawer now gone, the plan is decided. You will contact an old friend at the Spring Court, and ask her for refuge.
Azriel will accompany you to the edge of the Spring Court, helping you carry your things and offering emotional support.
"Are you sure this is the right choice? Feyre..." You nip his speech in the bud with a hand gesture. You've thought long and hard about where to go. But you have no contacts besides this friend in other Courts, and despite your history with Tamlin... you can do it.
"I'll come and see you, you know."
"I hope so."
"Will I ever know what happened between you and him?"
The question leaves you speechless, your body stiffens and you freeze for a moment, but you are quick to recover. You take a deep breath before speaking again.
"We loved each other. But then... Amarantha came and..." You don't say more than that, you don't explain further, but Azriel understands and doesn't ask questions.
"So...we'll see each other, yes?"
"Sure. I'm counting on it, Az." And with a final hug, you turn and enter the Court of Spring without looking back.
The first few weeks proceed slowly, but positively. You get up in the morning when the sun is already high in the sky, a warm breeze caressing your legs as you step out onto the small balcony with hot tea warming your hands. Your friend had to leave shortly after your arrival, and she will be back in who knows how long, leaving her home all to yourself. By now you have built a routine: you wake up and sip the sweet drink, you read until lunch, you cook, and in the afternoon you take care of chores. But your favorite activity so far has definitely been going to the local market. It is so different from how you remember.... And yet so much the same. The air of fear you felt because of Amarantha has ceased, though a small trickle of it remains because of Hybern. The stalls overflow with fruits and vegetables of all kinds, colors and scents. It makes you smile with familiarity every time you pass by.
Today you woke up determined to make some treats, but you are missing some ingredients, forcing you to go to the market. You quickly slip into one of your friend's clothes, and grab a picnic basket on your way out the door smiling. There is no doubt that you are happier now.
"Hi, honey! What can I get you today?" Alyna, a delightful female with whom you have bonded a lot these past weeks, greets you cheerfully.
"Hey, Aly! Um, could you make a mix of all the fruit?" You ask quietly, and the fae is quick to give you whatever you need. You admire the way she fiddles with her hands, but at the same time she's conversing with you-she's really good at everything, you think.
"So how are you finding yourself?"
"Great, really great. I'm really happy with my choice." She smiles at you as she helps you arrange the food in the basket. "I'm glad about that. Come see me for tea once in a while!"
"Of course, how much do I owe you?"
"Oh, dear, but don't worry!" After further insistence, she allows you to leave her a couple of gold coins. Much more than she actually needs, but she deserves it.
You opt to take another tour of the stalls before heading home. One in particular catches your eye, the colorful clothes too beautiful not to be admired. You are so busy running the pink fabric under your fingertips that you hardly recognize the voice next to you. Your body seems to do so before you even realize who the male next to you is. But then it's clear as day: the crisp, rainy, earthy scent, so unique and delicious. The blond hair and the broad warrior shoulders. It hasn't changed one bit. Your whole body is stiff, but you take a deep breath. You prepared for this moment; you knew you would see him again sooner or later.
Things between you and Tamlin did not end badly, but neither did they end well. It wasn't even a relationship you had: you barely had time to get to know each other and fall in love before Amarantha yanked him away from you. You suffered a long time for something that never even happened. But you know there won't be another chance like that: Tamlin has loved, no-loves Feyre with all of himself. He has moved on. And so have you, of course. But he will forever remain a crack in your heart.
The merchant's voice brings you back to reality. "Miss, are you interested in the dress?" You look at her wide-eyed, confused.
"Excuse me?" The sound of your voice makes the male, who has remained unaware of your presence until now, turn around.
"I was asking if you were interested in the dress."
"Y/n?"
"I, um. No, thank you. Sorry for wasting your time." Your tone is confused, you feel Tamlin's gaze burning your skin as he approaches. You feel his presence all over you.
"Don't worry, dear." The merchant walks away, leaving you alone with him.
"Y/n... what are you doing here?" For the first time in fifty years you allow yourself to look into his eyes, and it's as if the world is falling apart and rebuilding at the same time.
"Tamlin..." Tears wet your eyes as you try to show strength in front of the male you loved so strongly before. And who has now lost his mind for another female.
"What are you doing here?" The anger in his face, in his voice makes you take a step back.
"I-I ran away. I didn't fit in, and an old friend offered me to stay with her here." He lets out an annoyed snort.
"Of course, they didn't send you, did they?"
"No. I--there's something you need to know, Tamlin, about Feyre. I'm not in the habit of getting involved in matters that I don't-" He doesn't even let you finish the sentence.
"Feyre and I are just fine, and I won't let your Court get in the way one more time."
"No-"
"No, Y/n. You made your choice half a century ago when you chose him over me. Now I am making my choice. You better get out of my Court, you are no longer welcome."
And so, as he came so suddenly, he goes away, leaving you standing there like a fool. You compose yourself as best as you can and set out on your way home, tears flowing freely down your cheeks in the meantime.
You didn't bake anymore. As soon as you returned, you took a hot bath and a sleeping tonic, which has now become your trusted go-to solution. You woke up a few hours later, in the middle of the night, the effect of the tonic wearing off. Thoughts invaded your head, and it was only after hours of tossing and turning in bed and the sun coming up by now that you decided to write a letter to him. You get up and grab a pen and paper, your hands trembling with excitement. You cannot let Feyre find out about this, or your whole plan will be blown. You wish you had Azriel by your side to give you advice.
Dear Tamlin,
I apologize for making such an impetuous introduction to your Court, and especially without official notice. I wanted to let you know that I no longer work for the Night Court and have left of my own free will, but I have some important things to discuss with you, and they concern the security of your Court. I hope you can understand, and I hope to see you soon so we can talk about it. In case this does not happen, I hope to get you permission to reside in your territory, and I warn you not to trust those close to you.
Best regards,
Yours, Y/n.
With a sigh you close the letter and don't even wait for the sun to fully rise: you leave the house with a light cloak to cover you from the cool breeze and take the letter to the nearest village messenger.
The reply comes sooner than expected. It is simple and informal, and you sincerely hope that everything has gone according to plan and that it is not a trap set by Feyre, or worse, Rhysand himself.
Meet me at the market this afternoon after lunch.
Tamlin.
You reread the small sheet of paper a hundred times before getting ready. A way of nostalgia invades your senses one by one, but you chase it away violently. You don't have time for this. You must help him save himself and save his own court before it is too late.
"Y/n?" Tamlin notices you first as you wait for him at the same stall as last time. You turn quickly, so fast that you lose your balance and risk falling, but the male has quick reflexes and catches you before that can happen.
"You haven't changed a bit." His wry comment lightens the air around you, but it weighs down the burden in your chest that you feel. However, you do not give it away. You are here for a very specific reason, and you don't even know how much time you have left. You cannot be distracted by events that happened years and years ago.
"Tamlin." You greet him. "I'm here to warn you." You don't reveal everything right away; you're still trying to figure out if he would be willing to believe you or not. You know it's not easy for him. His expression turns cloudy, but he invites you to continue. You send down a knot in your throat before you speak again.
"It's about Feyre. I-I know it's hard to believe, but she didn't come back to you. Rhysand appointed her as High Lady, and you let her into your territory as a spy for the Night Court. She will destroy you, you can't-. you can't-we can't afford that in a time of war." You talk so fast that you stumble over the words occasionally, not stopping to breathe even once. Tamlin is almost tempted to invite you to breathe and explain more calmly, but your words cloud his eyes with anger.
"You... you-" He cannot even find the words to tell you after such a revelation.
"No, you have to believe me. Maybe-let me show you." Your tone is almost pleading, and at this point there would be no point in denying it to you. Tamlin knows you: you may have chosen him fifty years ago, but you have never been a liar.
You show him everything you can. It's been a long time since you've entered his mind, and the feeling is so familiar that your heart tightens. You focus on what you have to show him, and you don't think about it. After what seems like hours, you get to the last fight that happened with Rhysand, and when you get out of his mind his posture is slumped, tired, exhausted. You feel sorry for him, just as Mor had said, and you feel sorry for everything he seems to be feeling right now.
"Is he really ... so much better than me?" He finally asks, and it's not what you expected. You want to hug him, to tell him that no, absolutely not, never, never could Rhysand be, but you hold back.
"No." You just say, searching his eyes with yours, but not finding them. His face is low, probably trying to hide what look like ... tears, from the people in his Court. "Tamlin..."
"No, no...it's all right. I'll send her away now, you can stay as long as you like." The answer should make you happy, but it doesn't. His tone is so pained that you yourself begin to cry. You find it very ironic, how you are crying for him but he is probably crying for another female.
He leaves without saying a word to you. Just like last time.
Months go by. The war against Hybern has been fought and you haven't seen Tamlin once again. You have not taken part in the fighting despite your training. You do not feel like seeing such death. But you know that the Spring Court did, and it was also thanks to them that Prythian won against Hybern.
Azriel has visited you a handful of times since then, and he has always been very apprehensive and kind to you. No one yet knows where you ended up, and you will never be more grateful to anyone than him for keeping quiet.
Your dear friend has also returned, and together with her you have managed to find a small apartment in the nearest village, allowing you to take more part in the social side of your life.
It feels strange to return to the market once the war is over. A feeling of peace and total relaxation fills the air and feels surreal to you. You are not used to it, but you welcome it with open arms.
"Hey, honey, how are you?" Alyna, who has become one of the closest friends you have, asks you.
"It's such a nice day today, it's better than usual, or is it not?" You say lightheartedly, a big smile makes its way onto your face. Not just because of the war, you realize. You've finally managed to build a life for yourself away from the people who were giving you misery. Only one small question mark remains in your life, and that is Tamlin, but you realize there is not much you can do about it. You wonder why you still can't get over him after all this time. Is it the same for him, too? Surely not. Surely he will feel what you are feeling now, but for another female. The thought alone is capable of hurting you, but you drive it away, focusing on the figure in front of you.
"Yes, finally the burden of war no longer hangs over Prythian, I would say. Would you like some coffee?" And how could you say no.
When you get home in front of your door you find a letter. It comes from the Court, but it is not Tamlin's handwriting. It is an invitation, you realize when you open it, you have been invited to a formal ball to celebrate the end of the war.
You are delighted, this makes you a citizen in your own right, but you are also weirded out. From the invitation it appears to be a formal ball, and although you were an emissary long ago, at the Spring Court you are nothing more than a simple peasant girl, who like everyone else gets her food from what she produces, why would you attend such an event? More importantly, will the Night Court participate?
You put the countless doubts to rest with a bath and a sleeping tonic.
The next morning, you head to the village with one goal firmly set in your mind: you need an elegant and appropriate outfit for the Spring Court. All the formal dresses you own clearly belong to the Night Court, and although they are beautiful and elegant, by the time you have tried one on you have realized that you would not be comfortable. And also, if others will be present you want to show them that you are now no longer part of their Court. That this is your home, and you are happier than ever.
You walk into an old weaver's store that you've been to a couple of times before and you've always been comfortable.
"Y/n! What a pleasure to have you here, what would you need?" The female greets you warmly as always, and you reciprocate with equal affection.
"I would need a dress for a dance. Something simple but nice." The Fae squares your figure with watchful eyes, and you can almost see the wheels turning behind her eyes.
"Try this on."
After a whole afternoon spent inside her cuddly little store, and no less than three delightful new dresses, you finally manage to get home. It seems almost out of place to have three such exquisite and expensive dresses in your hands in such a tiny, bare apartment, but you were unable to say no in front of such beauty, such art expressed in fabric. You go to sleep with still a broad smile on your lips, perhaps in spite of everything you would not have minded going back to the court events.
The next day you wake up and instead of your usual reading, you do household chores, since you were supposed to be in the Spring Palace in the evening.
You gather fresh eggs and feed the animals, pick various fruits from the trees, and finally take a nice refreshing bath. You spend the afternoon getting ready, and just as the sun is about to set, you transmute in front of the Palace.
The feeling that overtakes you is ... it makes your stomach clench in agitation. It has been more than fifty years since you set foot in its home, but it has not changed one bit. The gardens are immense and full of sweetly and delicately scented flowers, the hallways are filled with gold and riches on every side. A Fae you don't recognize at the entrance to the ballroom asks you for an invitation, and you cheerfully hand it to him.
You don't immediately feel comfortable when you enter, and you make your eyes roam all over the room looking for the familiar figures of the Night Court, but you meet no one. In fact, no one from other Courts seems to be present. Your eyes wander again and again, until they meet those of a tall, relaxed-faced male. Tamlin. He sips an amber liquid from a gold-decorated glass as he talks happily with Lucien. Oh, how you've missed him, too.
When he notices you, he seems to take his leave and you stare at him as he crosses the entire room to join you. Your heart beats so fast that you are sure he can hear it as he gives you a slight bow and takes your hand, laying a gentle kiss on your knuckles. He leaves you the spot where he placed his lips almost thrilling.
"Y/n, you are stunning." He says, smiling gently at you, and the way he acts confuses you a little. You don't want to be anyone's spare tire. But at the same time, it ... it's all so much the same, it's as if 50 years had never passed. You've been hoping Tamlin would compliment you, after all the effort you put into fixing your hair, face and dress, and now that he does -- you're confused.
"Thank you, Tamlin. To what do I owe your invitation?" You decide to be direct.
"That's exactly what I wanted to talk about." He moves causing you to step forward in front of him, lays a warm hand on your uncovered back, and guides you to the banquet full of treats, away from the center of the room. "Help yourself." You don't serve yourself, despite all that food being extremely tempting, but instead you wait for him to speak. He sighs. "I wanted to thank you. For your warning. If she had carried out her plan-I don't even know if this Court would have stood."
"Of course, Tamlin. From my side I wanted to ... apologize." No apology was planned, but you owe him one.
He shrugs, dismissing the question with his hand.
"That's okay, I hope now that it's all over ... we can keep in touch. If you'd like to come to these kinds of events." You don't answer, but your smile speaks for you. You don't dance together, but it's the beginning of something wonderful, something that already happened a long time ago.
After almost a month, another invitation arrives. It is a dance where the other Seasonal Courts are also invited, so it will be even more exclusive, fortunately you still have two more dresses and most importantly, there will be no Night Court.
You quiver and are even more agitated than last time, you feel like a little novice girl. You avoid drinking any more coffee in the morning, not wanting to increase your nerves even more than they already are. You again spend the whole afternoon getting ready and transmute once more in front of his palace, the honeyed scent of flowers welcoming you just as you remembered. Your heart begins to beat wildly. You enter the hall and your eyes automatically land on Tamlin. You missed him, you realize.
"Y/n! Good to see you." The blond-haired male once again makes his way to join you. "You look as lovely as ever." His eyes burn on your figure, bolder than last time. He hands you a colorful drink and you gladly accept it.
"You look lovely too, Tamlin." You sip the pink liquid in the glass, a sweet and sour taste invades your mouth. "It's delicious, what is it?" You ask charmed. The male chuckles.
"Something new from the kitchen, but I don't know what it is either." He seems to hesitate a bit, but finally speaks, his cheeks slightly flushed. "Do you want to dance?"
Your knees almost buckle. "My pleasure." You say all too quickly. He holds out a hand to you, and after placing the glasses on a nearby table, you direct me to the middle of the dance floor, all eyes on you.
You dance in silence all evening. One dance turns into two, then three, and then into a whole night. When the music ends by now there are only a few people left, you are sweaty and out of breath, but you are happy. As happy as you've ever been. Deep laughter shakes your body, finally infecting Tamlin as well.
"I haven't danced in a long time." You say once you've calmed down, almost as justification for your behavior.Tamlin merely smiles at you. You head to the banquet and he hands you a large glass of water, and you are eternally grateful. You drink it down in one gulp.
"So...see you, Y/n?" He asks you uncertainly. You nod smilingly.
Only a handful of days pass when a letter arrives. But it's not a formal invitation, no. You recognize Tamlin's handwriting and can still smell him in the air. Has he been here? You quickly return and toss the basket full of crops at the doorway, eager to open the envelope with trembling hands.
Dear Y/n,
I would have liked to tell you in person, but I couldn't find you at home. I hope it's okay to have asked your friend for your address. Be ready tonight after dinner.
Yours, Tamlin.
Your body freezes before rejoicing in laughter coming from your heart. You get right down to business: do your usual routine, bath, hair, and finally your dress. You don't wear an elegant one, but a simple, typical Spring Court dress that Alyna gave you. You do sweet braids and don't wear makeup, but use your favorite perfume. Your favorite perfume. Someone knocks on the door at dusk, and it only takes a few moments for you to open it.
"Hey, Y/n." His eyes linger all over your body, he runs his tongue over his lips, and you can't help but stare.
"Hi." You greet him simply, a shy smile on your lips and slightly rosy cheeks. It's a date, you realize.
"Thank you for accepting."
"Did I have a choice?" He chuckles, then shakes his head.
"Of course you did. But I wanted to take you somewhere." He smiles at you. He holds out his hand and you grasp it, one moment you are in the doorway of your apartment, the next you are on a meadow covered with pale flowers and a cool stream. You look around in wonder. You had missed these places, so much that you didn't even realize it.
"It's... it's gorgeous." You comment in amazement. He nods, the stars reflected in his eyes giving him a poetic air. You would like to touch him now more than ever.
"I would have liked to have had more time, with you." He says after what seems like an eternity spent staring at you and nothing else. You nod, step forward, and he does the same. The warm breeze ruffles your hair, and you make to raise a hand and fix it, but he is quicker and moves a strand behind your ear. Just as he did one night long ago, and countless other times.
"Tamlin..." He shushes you with a kiss. It is sudden and leaves you breathless. It takes you a couple of seconds to recover and reciprocate with as much passion, as much feeling. You both pull away reluctantly, your breath heavy and your cheeks flushed. You can feel her heart beating incessantly, in the same rhythm as yours.
"I've been wanting to do this ever since I saw you again." He says and makes you chuckle, because it was exactly the same for you. "I've missed you."
"I missed you, too. So much." You answer and kiss him again. And again, again, again.
You have been denied for fifty years and now you don't have enough, you want to take back the time you lost. You must eventually break away one more time, making you moan in frustration.
"Let's try again." He says with his lips still resting on yours, your breaths mingling together.
"Let's try again."

Tokyo Revengers Red Flags
Mikey, Draken, Mitsuya, Baji, Kazutora Chifuyu. All of this is hypothetical and how I believe the boys would be as red flags and what their traits would be.
Mikey - Lashes out on you in anger so you would hate him and distance yourself from him. He does this so he doesn't lose control one day and puts his hands on you. - Bromance over romance. I already mentioned in another post how he would be hanging out with Kenny more than you. - He's a night owl, sleeps for the whole day and even in class to stay up riding with Draken or for a nightshift if he has a job (lets be real he can't live off of Draken's pockets or inheritance). - It sometimes feels like he doesn't care about his future and it's not like you can stay out past curfew (if you have one) or on weekdays where you have school. Draken - Emotionally constipated. - It seems like he doesn't care when he's not needy. (In the top 3 rankings for least needy). - He would be unreasonably overprotective over his bike with you as if you can damage it. But doesn't care when Pah almost knocks it over by accident.💀 Mitsuya - He's the most greenest flag this is a toughie. - Treats you like family, so normally doesn't apologize in arguments. - He steals your ideas if you're also in the same club as his and makes it seem like they are his ideas in front of everyone. - When you confront him he makes some excuse like "i was thinking of that ages ago" or "i already made this" or "it's our idea, babe. you came up with the concept and I executed it. We make a great couple and team." - When you confessed to him you mentioned how he's so kind, accepting, caring. Saying no would ruin that image, plus he felt bad for you which is why he said yes. He offers you compassion and that's about it. Baji - Also a tough one for me. - After meeting Kisaki and trying to get him kicked out of Toman in the Valhalla arc (even if no one dies) he distances himself from you. - He is good at making you look like the bad person in every argument without fail so you apologize. Kazutora - Keeps the posters of those girls in bikinis in his room. - Doesn't stop the random chick that flirts with him, or pushes them which makes you shocked cause like?? Thought he was strongly against violence against women. - Sees it as betrayal when you don't listen to what he says. - He still has a few screws lose and listens to his friends instead of you when it comes to changing his possessive behavior. What a jerk. Chifuyu - Stalks you in school so you can say 'hi' to eachother and think it's fate that brought you together. - He has a list of your likes even though they are outdated. - Makes you think he knows you better than you do. - SMALL SPOILER: During the BD arc, Takemichi breaks up with Hina. He joins Takemichi and breaks up with you too to join him like an idiot even though he was looking forward to your date. Unlike Takemichi that had a valid reason to breakup, he does it without one and didn't even make a random excuse.
(pt 2 out with Koko, shin, inui) Edit: Fixed Mitsuyas so its more fitting for his character.

kook!jj
content warnings: drug use, mommy issues, sexual harassment, gun violence, classism, underage drinking, attempted murder, neglectful parents, light misogyny, jj being a jerk, manipulative behavior, jokes about incest, arguably cruel jj
born jackson junior genrette, after larissa’s father and called junior by chandler
he’s really close to his mom because chandler often goes on “business trips” for long periods of time and he hates the way he treats her. he’s a mama’s boy
hates when chandler tries to buy his love but will use his deep pockets to his advantage (buying a new bike, weed, coke, etc.,)
acts out in school to get his father’s attention only to end up dropping out his junior year much to his mother’s chagrin. his feelings for chandler reach an all time low when he discovers that he’s not even his real father.
besties/rivals with rafe. they are the same yet so different, you see one the other is not far behind, just terrorizing pogues and taking secret sips from their flask to make it through stuffy events
kook!jj still has the peacekeeper™️. he found it (read: stole it from a pogue after he finished beating the shit out of him for threatening him with it) in the cut. he almost never uses it. almost. he whips it out from time to time to scare impress girls and show off to guys. he still practices on teddy bears but it’s actually used, the first time it’s used is by rafe at the tarmac. jj is so pissed he implicated him in the murder of the sheriff but helps him “take care of it”. rafe knows nothing jj does is out of the kindness of his heart, he scratched his back so he’ll scratch his
does coke instead of weed (he tried shrooms and molly once but after the incident™️ never again). rafe got adderrall from barry during his short stint at college and let jj try it. jj thought it didn’t work until he found himself applying for his ged and ordering the catering his mom asked him to order a week ago
a biker instead of a surfer. while canon!jj balances both worlds, kook!jj prefers to feel the wind in his hair while on the ground. he loves his baby, treats her better than actual women, and does not let anyone touch her. she’s a gift from his mother so he takes extra good care of her
throws the wildest parties, sometimes with rafe sometimes solo. if cops break up his party cause of a noise complaint, he pays them off (if it’s not shoupe) or runs
kook!jj and rafe allegedly share girls (and some boys). it’s not as likely as the rumors say though since they have different types
speaking of girls, kook!jj is a total creep to girls. at parties, he scans the crowd for his prey and descends like a hawk, following them around the whole time, playing up his harmless goofy persona, dragging them into drinking games so she can “loosen up”, offering to drive her home (if she came with friends, it’s a 50/50 chance they’ll let him take their girl home)
jj tends to gravitate towards pogue girls and says they’re “less trouble” than kook girls. he can do whatever he wants without having to worry about the girls running their mouths about it because they know they should be thanking him for even entertaining them
jj does not hate pogues as much as rafe; yeah, he thinks he's better than them, but he doesn't hate them. he will join in on whatever harassment bordering on crime rafe pulls, but only under two circumstances; if the act is interesting enough, he'll do it. if he's bored, he might do it
kook!jj has a morbid sense of humor, the type that makes people question if he’s joking or confessing a crime. it’s not edgelord shit and it doesn’t have the cadence of a joke; it’s just him saying something with a straight face and laughing at everyone’s reaction. he’s met with awkward chuckles, sighs of relief, and shoulder shoves, but they still don’t know if he was just fucking with them or sharing his dark thoughts
loves messing with rafe, though if you were to ask him, he would deny it. truthfully, he hates when rafe acts like the perfect kook king, it grinds his gears cause he knows that's not who he is and thinks he's shit at pretending to be that guy, especially in front of parents and some tourons (it's also a bonus that he gets to see him crash out)
a bunch of the boys are gathered around a mini bonfire well after the party's ended. jj suggested the game 'smash or pass' for seemingly no reason, but rafe knows better. nothing jj does is innocent or an afterthought.
jj takes a swig from their shared flask and passes it back to some guy he's already forgotten the name of. he claps, “okay, my turn, smash or pass… sarah.”
“dude what the fuck is wrong with you?”
“what? i’m just playing the game. plus i’m sure rafe’s dying to know which one of his friends wants to fuck his sister. isn’t that right raf-”
he’s sucker punched.
“jesus!” “fuck man!”
“fuck you jj.” he stomps off, ignoring topper’s calls for him to come back.
some guys he recognizes from his gym class help him up. he wipes the dirt off his legs, pushes his hair back, and grins.
“well that’s his answer. how ‘bout you fellas?”
does not get along with topper at all, thinks he’s slimy and pathetic. it’s why he loves to riling him up, whether it be flirting with sarah or calling him a punk ass bitch to his face
kook!jj is in a situationship (if you can even call it that) with figure eight’s resident outcast, weird girl!kook. they officially meet at midsummers; he snuck away to smoke and saw her smoking in his spot while sketching. he tried his usual technique on her, but she was very uninterested and didn't even try to keep the conversation flowing. he called her a 'bitch' and she laughed, he asked what she was sketching; she showed him a disturbingly accurate drawing of him no more than a couple minutes ago and the rest is history
kook!jj reacts better to the news of chandler not being his father than jj does to the news of luke not being his father. part of him always knew that chandler was too different, too cold, to be his father; he's more shocked that his mother had the balls to cheat on him
jj tries to kill chandler after finding out he tried to kill his mother when she found out she was pregnant with him
chandler tried to talk his way out of it, but jj was not having it; he knew who his father was—a conman, a liar, and a thief. he knew the man was just biding his time before jj got bored of entertaining his final words and pulled the trigger when he dropped the bomb of his true parentage on him. he uses jj's shock make his escape
kook!jj who pogues and kooks alike can agree is an agent of chaos

Coming right up with some new thoughts
I finally finished the Acolyte (took my time ik) and honestly, it's banger! Everything is on point, the story actually feels like it's Star Wars: we have jedis, siths, mysteries, turns of events, known characters, legends lore, ancient stuff never brought up before. The fights are so on point it's crazy.
But I gotta say this, and I know, a lot of people are saying it too, but I really gotta spit it out. Don't listen to the people saying it's bad. All I see all the time is stuff like, why did the lightsaber turns red?! Making Anakin less special, why couldn't Palpatine make force sensitive clones but some witches can? And on and on and on and on.... and you know what people, anyone, and I say ANY-ONE, who says that kind of stuff, hasn't watched the show at all, every one of these stupid comments find an explanation in the show. But let me tell the truth about all that, the loudest part of the Star Wars fans are Marvel men, they want Tony Stark, they wanted a twisted white guy who kills people for fun, they think they are some sort of Anakin wanna-be who have trouble with their anger cause of women and lies, when actually they are just sexist little shits who immediately hated on Ahsoka in 2008 and it shows. They hate less the concept of Palpatine surviving somehow than witches who create life BECAUSE of a vergence planet making they them ultra powerful, just because they are a lesbians, men free, coven of witches and that's what bothers them so much. If Osha and Mae had been white guys with anger issues they would claim it's the best show in the book.
But what I'm saying actually stands for any kind of Star Wars or Marvel content. Sure, Rey didn't get a good writing and was the main character of a trilogy purely made for the money without a single care for the fans, but they don't hate her for the writing, they hate her because she's strong, because she can do stuff on her own as she always did since 4 yo. They didn't say anything when 10yo Anakin blew up a battle station or won a podrace said to be impossible for humans. But on the moment a woman who is clearly stated to be all powerful because of a dyad gets skills a bit too fast that's it, throw the whole thing by the window they made Disney woke.
So all of you who loved the show and are just quiet about it, don't worry, everyone loved it, all the bad things you hear comes from like 100 stupid waste of men who only get heard because of an algorithm. Kinda sounds like politics, or religion, doesn't it?

could you write about y/n being the new mancity yoga instructor and erling blushing whenever she tries to help him stretch
Mango
Erling Haaland X Female Reader
Summary: Erling, hates yoga but doesn't hate the new instructor.
Erling had a sense of dread as the day approached for his weekly yoga class. He had never imagined himself as someone who would participate in yoga, and the idea of it made him uncomfortable. However, as a player for Man City, he was required to attend the class once a week as part of his training regimen. To his surprise, the team had even hired a new female instructor to lead the class.
Erling overheard some of the other players whispering about how attractive the instructor was, which only added to his discomfort. He found their comments to be shallow and foolish, revealing their inability to interact with women without judging them based on their appearance.
Despite his initial reluctance, Erling reluctantly showed up for the team's weekly yoga class. He found himself in the studio, surrounded by his fellow players, waiting for the new instructor to arrive.
Suddenly, the door opened, and a young woman in her early twenties rushed in, apologizing for being late due to traffic caused by an accident.
Everyone turned to look at her, and Erling found himself momentarily speechless. She was stunningly beautiful, and he felt a sudden rush of attraction towards her.
The instructor smiled warmly at them and introduced herself. "Hi everyone, I'm Y/N, and I'll be your new instructor," she said. "Let's start by standing upright with your weight centered on the balls of your feet. Inhale both arms to the sky with the palms facing each other. Exhale as you bend forward very slowly while keeping your legs straight."
Erling tried to focus on the instructor's instructions, but found it difficult to concentrate with her soothing voice and stunning appearance.
He couldn't help but think that he was starting to sound like one of his teammates, who had been swooning over her before the class even started.
Despite his initial reservations, Erling found himself becoming more and more intrigued by the new yoga instructor. As the class continued, he began to realize that there was much more to her than just her beauty.
Erling found it increasingly difficult to concentrate. To make matters worse, the new instructor, Y/N, kept coming over to him to help him with his positions. Every time she came near him, he felt his face turn red, and he found himself struggling to keep his thoughts focused on the task at hand.
Suddenly, Y/N appeared by his side and placed a hand on his hip. "Move your hips this way," she instructed, guiding him through the motion.
Erling tried his best to follow her guidance, but he was acutely aware of her touch and found it hard to control his thoughts. "Are you okay?" Y/N asked, her voice filled with concern.
Erling took a deep breath and tried to compose himself. "Um, yeah, I'm fine," he replied, trying to hide his embarrassment. He couldn't believe that he was getting so flustered over a simple touch from the instructor.
He was starting to feel like a complete idiot in front of his teammates, who were all watching him closely.
Despite his embarrassment, Erling continued to push himself through the class, determined to make the most of the experience.
Towards the end of the yoga class, Y/N came up to Erling once again to help him with his positions. As she leaned in close to him, he could smell the sweet scent of mango perfume emanating from her. He felt his heart race as she bent over right in front of him to help Grealish, and he knew that the other guys had noticed how agitated he was getting. He could hear them snickering behind him.
Finally, the class drew to a close and Y/N addressed the group. "You all did such a great job today, that's the end of our class for today. See you all next week!" she exclaimed, as everyone started to pack up their mats and towels.
But before Erling could leave, Y/N approached him. "Hey, I just wanted to make sure you were okay during the class. You were looking a little red," she said, her voice filled with concern.
Erling ran a hand through his hair, trying to sound as normal as possible. "Yeah, I'm fine. You just worked me good," he replied.
Y/N smiled at him warmly. "Okay, as long as you're good. See you next class!" she said, before turning to leave.
But before she could go, Erling mustered up the courage to ask her out. "Hey, before you go, do you maybe want to have dinner sometime?" he asked, his heart racing.
Y/N turned back to him and smiled. "You work fast, Mr. Haaland. You're lucky you're one of my favorite players. I'll give you a chance, but I hope you don't disappoint," she said, teasing him.
She walked over to the whiteboard at the front of the studio, picked up a marker, and wrote down her number. As she bent down to pack up her bag, she made sure Erling was watching her, and then she left with a playful "call me."
Erling couldn't believe what had just happened. He knew that he was in trouble now - Y/N was going to be the end of him. But somehow, he couldn't help feeling excited at the prospect of what was to come. This was going to be fun.

Idk if anyone will see this or care but this is my coming out post
I'm 33 and I think I'm finally done pretending I'm something I'm not. I've known since I can first remember that I was a guy. My first memories are of running around shirtless, being told I would have to cover up soon and not understanding why. I wondered why I didn't have a dick. I always wanted to prove how strong I was, how fast I was, how high I could climb, etc. I remember when I first learned about puberty and I was 100% certain that, when the time came, I could pick which one I'd be and I knew I'd pick male. I couldn't wait to start growing a beard and look like Riker.
The dysphoria has always been really fucking bad. The autism, ADHD and OCD made me miserable already but dysphoria made me so badly depressed by the time I was 10 I was constantly thinking about ... well, let's just say that I never thought I would see 33.
I found out being trans was A Thing and started binding, begging my parents and doctors to let me start hormones, etc. I had a really shitty person at CAMH tell me that I didn't meet the criteria? Lmao. He's probably retired now and I hope he's miserable tbh.
I did eventually take T in my early 20s for about a year, then I had a breakdown thinking I was making a huge mistake... because I didn't think I'd ever be happy. I feel wrong down to my fucking DNA. Even now I'm fighting with myself because I feel terrible that I can never be a cis man and it just... it kills me.
So yeah, I decided to chug copium for years thinking that if I tried really really hard I could accept being female and be Okay.
Hahahaha. Ha.
The funny thing is, even when I was chugging copium I was still thinking things like, "If someone had a magic wand and could make me a cis male I'd say yes without hesitation," or, "I wish Star Trek was real cause they could fix me easily," or even, "Wearing a dress is drag."
I still felt like I was being weird by looking at bras, panties and swimsuits. (Not that there's anything wrong with that if you're into drag! And I'd fight anyone who tries to make trans women feel bad. It's just, personally, it doesn't feel Right for me.) I assumed people saw me as a man. I really played up being girly. I'd be giggling and acting flirty and barf. But I thought I was being very Gender and convincing people! And that's what I was trying to do: convince people. People who didn't need convincing because they saw me as a woman. It was just me who didn't.
Fun fact: I quote this all the time and people keep looking at me weird.
Anyway, I've been in a bit of a mental breakdown over the past few days because my brain finally said, "You know what? Fuck this and fuck you. You know what you are, goddamn idiot bastard man." So now I'm trying to be less of a goddamn idiot bastard man and continue the process I started when I was like... 3. I'm gonna make little me so fucking proud when I grow that beard (god I hope I can grow a beard) and get this weight off my chest.
I haven't figured out what name to go by yet because I've been through several since I told my parents I hated my name when I was like 10 and none of them fit. But I am a man and I am starting the process of making that obvious to everyone around me.
I already know some people are gonna be challenging but fuck it, we ball!

Rompecorazones 2 // Jenni.H
Victoria quickly ushered your sobbing form out of the dutch changing rooms in hopes to calm you down without the prying eyes of her teammates.
your breathe has picked up quickly so vic sat down on the floor and dragged you with her. She placed your head into her lap and twisted the strands of your wet hair in hopes to ground you a little.
"okay sweetheart you have to calm down otherwise we can't have a conversations okay?" Vic softly spoke whilst your loud cries subsided and turned into a blank expression and tears streaming down your cheeks.
"she hates me, i ruined it." you spoke as you started up at the celling. "she never wants to see me again, so i told her she wouldn't have too."
"so it's a done deal?" Victoria quietly asked aware of the members of staff that could be anywhere around the building.
"i got the call this morning, so i told Vilda that i was resigning after the tournament which means i'm benched for the foreseeable. Being in this tournament has brought me nothing but hurt, so i'm not upset that i've finally been allowed to go." Vic took in a sharp intake of breathe at all the news.
"he can't just bench you! how is he being allowed to do that?" vic’s once calm words turned into anger, and her once soft fingers tangling in your hair turned into hard clenched fists
"he can and it's already done, i can fight my own battles. he doesn't scare me." you sighed, although after the outburst in the Spanish changing room you were more than ready to never be under Vilda's control again.
"do you want me to stay? i travel back tomorrow but just say the word and i'll find another flight."Victoria quickly stated and gestured for you to stand up with her.
"i cannot expect you to d-" although i tried to stop the girl from having to pay for a few extra nights in a hotel there was no room for complaint. "i'm staying with you, no arguments." she spoke after she stopped you with her hand.
your murmured complaints were almost quietened by Victoria's raised brow and hardened expression.
almost.
"vic no, it's not going to work this time. you need to go back, start preseason training and i will be fine. it's been a long time coming" her face displayed her feelings of the decision but yet she decided not to argue.
"you will call me whenever you need me?" you nodded at the girl and brought her into a tight hug.
"now go back into the changing room and be with your team” the dutch girl was clearly hesitant about leaving you alone which caused you to open the door yourself and push her in.
once you were alone you walked around some more before ultimately deciding to go back to the changing room, but before you walked in you heard the loud shouts from one of your teammates, maybe multiple of them you couldn’t tell.
deciding against walking in and making it worse you slid down the wall and waited until it was quiet once more.
_______
After you left the dressing room the whole team was staring at jenni in shock.
never had they seen the older women be so harsh to you, normally they were making fun of you both for being so sickeningly cute.
“Qué fue eso?” alexia questioned with an unreadable expression. what was that?
“no sé” Jenni spoke quietly as she looked down at the floor, it interested her a lot more than alexia’s disappointed expression. i don’t know
alexia laughed.
not because she found anything funny, quite the opposite. she couldn’t believe that Jenni had no explanation for her outburst.
even the team were shocked that jenni had nothing more to say, everyone thought she would’ve had something more to say yet it was almost like she regretted it.
no that couldn’t of been right, jenni has been so angry that much emotion must’ve come from somewhere. There must some truth in those sharp words even if it was deep down.
yet Jenni still stared at the floor, the normal goofy and loud women now speechless as she watched her tears drip onto the changing room floor.
“i- i can’t believe i said that to her.” Jenni spoke quietly, which is what started the loud shouts from the many angry spaniards.
_______
eventually you grew tired of sitting outside the changing room and listening to the shouts coming from inside, yet you couldn’t hear Jenni no matter how hard you tried to listen her voice couldn’t be heard.
you walked into the changing room, Jenni was stood in the middle of it as she just listened to the angry words that were clearly directed at her.
as much as your heart grew full at your teammates defending you, you wouldn’t allow them to do to her what she did to you.
“detente, por favor” you spoke once you came into view. stop it please
Once she heard your voice Jenni’s head snapped up as her glassy eyes focused on your own.
you saw her about to open her mouth. probably to say more hurtful words, at least that’s what you thought, so you stopped her with a shake of your head.
you couldn’t take anymore of her cruel words.
you could see her almost pleading with you to atleast allow her to say something but you were too vulnerable you wouldn’t allow yourself to carry on being hurt so deeply infront of the girls you considered family.
it was clear to everyone in the room that it wasn’t only Jenni you didn’t want to hear from, you sat yourself in your seat and put in your headphones but not before telling Alexia to let you know when you all board the bus back to the hotel.
and she did, once everyone started to head out Alexia tapped you on the shoulder before gesturing to the people leaving.
you nodded and stood up whilst picking up your things, Alexia waited for you by the door. the only thing you could offer her was a small smile as she led you outside with an arm around your shoulder.
there was a reason you seemed to stick with Alexia whenever you weren’t with Jenni. She didn’t feel the need to talk every second, she enjoyed comfortable silence which in this moment was all you needed.
the pink haired women dragged you down into the seat next to her as you sighed and leant your head onto her shoulder allowing the rumbling of the bus and your music blaring in your ears to lull you to sleep.
Alexia met eyes with Jenni’s from across the bus, the dark haired women’s eyes were known for being bright and so full of life but instead they were dull and no longer had that sparkle you fell in love with.
Jenni quickly looked away and instead placed her eyes on your peaceful figure but your eyes were forcefully squeezed shut almost like you never wanted to open them again.
All Jenni wanted to see where your beautiful eyes along with your beaming smile reassuring her that all would be well, just like you did in the match. But she knew that was impossible, she hurt you in the worst way, she humiliated you in-front of everyone you love.
she doubted she would ever see that beautiful smile directed at her again, she’d messed it all up and all because of her own self-doubts.
She knew she loved you, She knew that she wanted to be embraced in your love until it was no longer possible, and yet she threw that possibility away.
she could never expect you to forgive her, because she didn’t know if she would ever be able to forgive herself.
a/n: well i guess this only calls for one thing… part 3 anyone?

Thoughts on Jessie Gender's video on NATLA
I really admire Jessie Gender's videos usually, she's the one whom I usually go to to see videos on gender and queerness in media. I like her stuff a lot and respect their work.
But the NATLA video left me going "no, wait, that's not what happened" a lot. I can't summarize the video, I suggest people go watch it if they want to know but I disagree with practically everything for the most part.
I'm not anybody on the internet. But what I do have is a lifetime of growing up on ATLA, a degree in Sociology and English Literature, coming from a culture that ATLA is based on, studying about colonial rule, researching the cultures ATLA is based on in my spare time and a love for the original. Does that establish some legitimacy? If for some reason you feel like you need to go hate on Jessie for this, DON'T. DO NOT. This is me just critiquing because I think the video content was biased and I want to honestly engage with the points made because everyone has a tendency to demonize the adaption without looking at it on its own merit. With that said:
Point 1: Sokka's sexism is taken out to make the show more palatable and his arc in the Kyoshi Island episode undermines Suki to prop up Sokka.
She says that Sokka's sexism and him addressing it is a show-long arc, and him deconstructing that is him fighting against the colonial sexism of the Fire Nation.
Sokka's sexism is explicitly dealt with in one episode. He's shown to be overtly sexist in the first 4 and never again except for little comments here and there that every other character makes as well and goes unaddressed. His sexism is not because of the Fire Nation- FN is very inclusive of women as warriors. Sokka's sexism is an anomaly because no one but him cares that Katara isn't just sitting home mending clothes(Bato, Hakoda, none of the men on the ship they are on in S3 say a word and she takes off to join Aang in the Fire Nation islands).
If Sokka's sexism is not systematic to the Southern Water Tribe or caused by the Fire Nation, what kind of commentary on sexism is this?
She also says Suki is played down and demured to give Sokka confidence when she's teaching him, taking away her arc as she pines for the new boy who she likes because he's shirtless. Sokka's throughout the episode shows insecurity and a more subtle form of sexism where he's trying ton prove he's as good as her. He's trying to show off his strength to her, and failing miserably and when he realizes she bested him, he walks away. He goes into it assuming he's better than her but walks away realizing shit she is GOOD. Then he goes to her dojo to observe the practice and follows along, Suki invites him in seeing him fucking up the forms outside and teaches him.
Suki falls for a tackle Sokka does in the og and live action. In the OG, it's shown as Sokka ACTUALLY being better. In the live action? He isn't. One lesson doesn't make him better, she transitions from actually teaching him to kinda flirting until she completely stops. She's not weakening herself for him, both of them are expressing romantic interest. How did Sokka, a boy who that morning was defeated by them, get better than SUKI in a spar she put genuine effort in? I think that's frankly more sexist than the live action take.
Additionally, Suki was meant to be a one-off character meant to teach Sokka that sexism is bad. She existed entirely to serve Sokka's character arc and had no independent motivation in season 1. In the live action, we see her talk about wanting to go into the world, and see her growing motivation through Aang's presence of wanting to not just protect Kyoshi Island, but the world. She became what she is only in season 2 and 3. Sokka's sexism arc didn't even pan out well because he never addressed the issue with Katara after that episode, the first and most affected victim of his sexism.
Sokka wearing the armor in the original, is a joke. Aang calls their uniform a dress while laughing (it's not, like it's not even constructed like one, the bottoms are loose pants called Hakama). He isn't put into the uniform to show solidarity, it's a joke, and we are meant to be laughing at Sokka for the most part. Queer fans have reclaimed and redefined that scene to be like drag, but that wasn't the original intention of the show because we get jokes on Aang's masculinity which never actively get refuted from Toph in season 2. Katara of all people points out Sokka wearing a poinytail in a demeaning manner multiple times, a supposedly girly hairstyle. If the original wanted to honor Sokka embracing gender fluidity, they wouldn't consistently mock him for being choosy about buying a bag and wearing a ponytail(which in-universe has cultural importance to him).
All signs of 'femininity' in Sokka are played for laughs in the rest of the show(down to the scene where he draws a rainbow, and his master Piandao simply rolls his eyes).
Sokka is also never once shown as a better warrior in the live action- his story is the opposite. Sokka yearns here to be an engineer, a scientist tinkering away with new inventions. His father Hakoda and the SWT discourages this because there is no value in that for them. Value is shown for them to come from physical strength, which Sokka NEVER has in live action season 1(him having biceps and being shirtless is not a glorification of strength). He's good, but he's nothing special. His true highlight is in his intellect and the show implies pretty well that Sokka doesn't need to be physically strong or a warrior to fight back against oppression.
That's his defining line in the show teasers "you do not need to be a warrior, to be a hero."
Point 2: The sexism arc isn't replaced by anything more nuanced.
It is! It's replaced by the biases against bending. Sokka discourages Katara from bending because the Fire Nation attacked the SWT to eliminate waterbenders. Both Katara and Sokka hold fear for waterbending, a part of their own culture, specifically because of the Fire Nation's hegemony and hierarchical beliefs. Waterbending = preservation of culture and Katara says these exact words in episode 1. Sokka stopping her is him being under the colonial hegemony of the FN because waterbending is what brought Fire Nation soldiers to their shores to kill their mom. That's the new arc and it has follow through to the end. Instead of Sokka telling Katara to kick ass because he isn't sexist anymore, the live action Sokka says it because he's embraced waterbending and his own culture now through seeing Katara grow and letting her choose for herself what's best for her (instead of smothering in his faux warrior persona, which they literally discuss when stuck in the cave). This arc is exclusive to the show, there's no comment on the cultural significance and erasure of waterbending in the original.
It's made more explicit in Katara's arc, where she needs to get past the fear the Fire Nation has put in her of the dangers of her own bending, and embrace that her people wanted to protect it (Kya sacrificing herself, Gran-Gran hiding the waterbending scroll).
Point 3: Showing the genocide of the Air Nomads is disrespectful
In the original, the Air Nomads are nothing but a memory. At all times. We never see the influence of the Air Nomad culture on Aang, or see them alive and thriving at any point. We see them fight back on the live action, and the actual genocide is a few short minutes, interspersed with Aang sinking. It's not a lingering process and it shows the abilities of Air Nomads. Jessie says this is purely aesthetic and to be cool, but there are significant moments that happen here.
Establishing the powers of Air Benders- this is the first and last time we'll get to see Air Bending on this scale and this shows what they can do
There's a scene where two air nomads nod to one another, and the air nomad switches from defensive to an extremely offensive move. It shows that this isn't typical for the Air Nomads, and that they are being pushed to their limits
This is a festival, they were defending themselves and it's important to show that the Air Nomads didn't just go silently without a fight and were ambushed on an important day.
To show the Fire Nation's cruelty and the extent of their power during the comet specifically.
To give weight to WHY everyone Aang runs into is so critical and hateful of the fact that he was gone, and to also show why Aang never refutes them and the weight of what he's lost (and also that even if he were there, he couldn't have done anything)
It's not just to be cool, it's honestly not cool to watch and taking Gordon Cormier, a child's quote to say that's what everyone's impression is, is disingenuous despite the disclaimer given. The kids' quotes always get taken out of context. Reviewers and Avatar fans who went to the premiere were disturbed overall by the violence. They did not think of the Fire Nation as "cool", they saw the Air Nomads like that. Like don't we want people to think of the Air Nomads in a positive light for fighting back?
Their culture gets little to no expansion in the original, and whatever Aang has left of them is actually slowly stripped away in the original.
Aang is made to okay the destruction and modification of the Northern Air Temple when destruction is shown as wrong during his rage and grief in the Southern Air Temple. The new settlers have used the gliders of Air Nomads to device weapons that fly, which were then sold to the Fire Nation. The Mechanist and his people continue this and create more weapons to fight the war in the temples(albeit this time agaisnt the fire nation but the cycle of violence continues using devices and cultures of a peaceful people). A once-peaceful place, is now a center for war innovation and Aang is told to accept this because he must let go of the past to look to the future.
The above, in comparison to Aang simply saying "I should let go of the past and look to the future" is FAR more disrespectful of Aang's culture and past. The live action keeps Gyatso's memory a constant companion to Aang, he is terrified of letting go of the past and it hinders him from simply living.
Point 4: Violence is shown as good and the cycle of violence is perpetuated.
She says Kyoshi demanding Aang to fight back and hit hard is showing that Aang needs to embrace strength and power. That everyone telling him to fight and be alone means strength is given importance, and that the same is shown when Zuko says "sometimes the weak can become strong, sometime you just have to give them a chance."
Kyoshi is wrong. She is willfully portrayed as powerful, but harsh. Roku(though his screentime was small) disagrees with her and tells Aang to find his own way of fighting and that is ultimately what Aang follows.
Kyoshi doesn't come off as correct, she's demanding and harsh, unforgiving. Aang initially lets her take over because he is scared of the power he holds and she promises she can control it to help others. Aang doesn't want power(he literally says 'I don't want these powers'). In the finale, he gives in to the ocean spirit and does what Kyoshi asks; save everyone, even if it costs his own life. But it is shown as a tragedy. Katara calls back for him and tells him he shouldn't have to sacrifice himself, that he has a place in this world as he is no matter what others tell him and he listens to THAT. He says he will save the world not alone, but with his friends, in the memory of the Air Nomads to ensure it never happens again.
Physical strength is only a priority to Katara's character. Sokka doesn't fight in the end, he's begging Yue to not sacrifice herself and is protecting her. He's not some macho man. Aang is also not embracing power.
Zuko says that line not to show that he can grow stronger, but that people should get second chances. He's a hurt kid wishing his father had the compassion to let him grow. But he doesn't and Zuko walks away from it thinking physical strength and bending prowess is important, crushing his compassion. That line on a meta level isn't even about physical strength. It's about mental fortitude and character, and the strength to be compassionate.
Jet was mentioned as being portrayed as more wrong, but in the original he was ready to sink a village of innocents. in the live action he genuinely helped Katara with her waterbending and was justified in wanting to kill the mechanist(who collaborated with the fire nation) and King Bumi (who is neutral, incompetent and has let the Fire Nation run rampant in the city). He's more sympathetic here because he's doing it with a concrete reason, and he didn't even manipulate Katara the way he did in the original. She was genuinely charmed by him.
A big problem I had with Jessie's video was putting in clips from some right-wing channel between critique of NATLA....which....why? Huh? And these were used to say NATLA is leaning into fascist tendencies and smoothing out any critique of colonialism when it really isn't. I think NATLA is very explicitly saying the same message as the original. Not in the same way, but it is. The show actively engages audiences and the characters in discussions of cultural erasure and the problems of valuing power(the latter especially through Zuko and Azula).
There are million issues with the live action (Sokka's casting, ableism in Zuko's burn scar, the writing issues, pacing issues, the lack of screen time for Aang and focus on the Fire family). The ones Jessie Gender discussed though, are not it.

OKAY. HERE WE GO. I DID IT, I WENT OVER THE CHAPTERS AND PULLED OUT DIFFERENT THINGS. IM SO SO SORRY THIS IS SO LONG. PLS KNOW HOW MUCH I LOVE UR STORY AND IM SORRY FOR HOW LONG THIS IS!!!
....
Chapters that include Sukuna: 23, 24, 25, 32, 33, 34
Chapter 23: The Party Era "Well… around a time like now, that asshole is probably somewhere in the middle of the party," Gojo explains.
The way he refers to Sukuna as an asshole has you worried. Are you going to have to deal with another Naoya?
Swallowing down a large gulp of nerves, you bat your eyelashes at Gojo, "Asshole…?"
He tenses up beside you for some unknown reason, "Uh… I mean, yeah." He shrugs, "Sukuna isn't the nicest guy in the world, everyone knows that."
Satoru describing Sukuna as an asshole, tensing up but only saying that he isn't the "nicest guy in the world".
"Sukuna…" Gojo pauses, thinking hard about something before shaking the thought away, "He uh… How do I say this… He'll," The man looks down at you again, "He'll be nice to you."
He wasn't worried that Sukuna would hurt her. It makes me believe there could be a closer hint towards Sukuna knowing who the reader was prior to this. If he knew about her then it would give Satoru a reason to be able to leave her alone with him without worrying that he would harm her (if Choso was being honest about the abuse-- which he would have no reason to lie about?).
Your body language made it so painfully obvious that you didn't want this guy touching on you and you eventually turned your head back to him, noticing that it was the same person Gojo snapped at earlier.
That realization caused goosebumps to form all over your skin and you tried telling the man to back off you. He definitely heard you but clearly ignored you, going as far as groping your ass and creepily smiling at you.
The exact same man from before? It seems suspicious that the guy would go after the reader more than once in the night, especially after being practically threatened with Satoru's eyes… maybe this was set up? (I'm stretching it).
In the blink of your eye, one second he was trying to come to touch you again and the next you saw a fist make contact with his jaw, a crack heard even through the music as his body stumbled to the side and then made contact with the floor.
Sukuna doesn't even bat an eye before he whacks this man to the floor for harassing a woman. It makes me feel like there's something there. Does he know her? Or does he genuinely just hate people making women uncomfortable, but that also defeats the purpose of what Choso said-- why would Sukuna beat a guy up for making a woman uncomfortabe if he beats them.
The smile that was once spread across his face drops completely when he looks at you.
???
Chapter 24: The Heavy Tension
FIFTEEN MINUTES. That was the exact amount of time it took you to seduce Sukuna.
The act was way too easy. Actually, it was suspiciously easy.
It's one thing for him to have made his introduction by knocking a creep out for the sake of you but it's an entirely different thing for the man to then order you to dance with him.
Still feels weird to me, but I'm not too suspicious given his history with women (provided in future chapters).
His introduction seemed pretty odd as well. I feel like because the man was doing this to multiple women maybe this was still planned??? But he's also a creep SOOOO!
A voice was right in your ear, lips brushing over your skin and giving you literal chills, "You're not uncomfortable with me touching you, right?"
SEE IT JUST MAKES ME SO CONFUSED!!!!
"Bullshit," He utters, "Nobody dresses like this without the intent of gaining my attention," Sukuna claims while his hands slide back down along your body.
This is probably nothing but I thought I might just add it?
"Care to be my next victim?" Sukuna requests, his wording making your face scrunch up a little.
"What a poor choice of words…" You murmur in response, taking him by complete surprise.
IM SORRY I HAD TO ADD IT LMAO
You glance over to a nightstand you pass by and notice a single framed picture. Stopping, you can't help but pick it up. It's Yuji. The resemblance between Sukuna and his younger brother is uncanny, they look identical with the exception of Sukuna appearing older and having face tattoos.
"Is this your brother?" You blurt out.
Sukuna's head turns back to you again, his brows furrowed and a vein popping out in his forehead at the mere mention of his sibling. "Unfortunately, yes." He sighs deeply, rolling his eyes at how curious you are and returning his attention to whatever it was on inside the bathroom.
If this isn't Choso's room, which I don't think it is… Why would Sukuna have a framed photo of Yuji? He obviously doesn't like his brother, but I feel like there's something weird about that fact.
Only to be stopped by another banging against the room door, this time followed by some guy calling Sukuna's name.
…
His phone buzzes on the counter and his head snaps back before he snatches the device up. Sukuna's whole face sinks and he looks like he's about to kill someone.
"These fucking idiots…" He sighs, unlocking his phone and responding to something. You sit idly on the floor, staring up at him until he looks down at you again.
With a sigh Sukuna shakes his head, "Someone threatened to call the cops and shut this party down so, I gotta' go." He explains.
I'm sorry this was definitely Satoru no one is telling me otherwise…
Chapter 32: The Heavy Tension
He nods his chin toward the picture you just had in your hands, "You know my brother, don't you?"
There is no way he could have guessed that??? She picked up a picture of Yuji last time and he didn't think she'd know who he was, but Choso?
"He's talked about you before," Sukuna says suddenly.
I know he said this in a joking way, but is there any way that Choso and Sukuna still keep in touch?
It's slow but he soon meets your eyes, "Bad one. Fucker' snuck a hit on me like the little bitch he is," Sukuna curses.
Oh he's definitely talking about Satoru c'mon.
"No, but, I fight a lot and I'd love to have a pretty face like yours taking care of me after each one," Sukuna comments, his words making your heart race.
I JUST DONT UNDERSTAND ANYMORE…
Sukuna releases one and then brings the other to his mouth, placing a kiss on the palm of your hand.
He's being so gentle here????!?!?!
Chapter 34 - The Degrading Era
On your body was this large t-shirt and… your underwear? Except, it was freshly cleaned? Holy shit, how long were you out for?
He even takes care of her the morning after, which feels weird because of his character.
"How do you feel?" Sukuna cuts off, uninterested in your questions as to why he's so close to you.
…
When you opened the device and went through it, you noticed your notification from your bank, a lovely deposit of six thousand USD having been sent to you within the last hour.
Okay so Satoru already knowing did seem fairly suspicious. But then again you were gone for awhile…?? But he wasn't with you… UGH I DONT KNOW!
That's oddly specific. You didn't think much of when he called you a whore last night, since, y'know, you like being degraded. But, something about that being his assumption for your occupation is a crazy coincidence.
Especially considering how hellbent Gojo was on telling you not to call yourself that. The more you think about it…
Gojo got upset at something from Sukuna's party, he didn't want you to call yourself a whore all of a sudden, Sukuna seems to have believed that was your actual job, and you remember how pissed Gojo seemed as he thought about you sleeping with Sukuna-
Holy fuck. Are the two connected somehow? Is something going on? What does Gojo owe Sukuna? Does Sukuna know you only slept with him as payment to clear Gojo's debt? Is-
I DONT CARE IF SUKUNA SAID HE WAS JOKING. THIS IS TOO SUSPICIOUS!!!! "You've got the kinda' pussy men pay for. Hell, I…"
I know this is because he didn't want to compliment the reader BUT 1. he's seeming a little to sweet to her if this isn't how he normally treats women. 2. I DONT THINK HE WOULD JOKE? DID HE PAY??? HELLO!!! IM CONFUSED
You're quick to wrap your arms around his neck as you're lifted into the air and Sukuna carries you to his bathroom.
"Do not get used to this." He says sternly.
You've got a big smile on your face as he assists you with readying yourself for the day.
The man helps you to brush your teeth, cleanse your face, get dressed in your clothes from the night prior that have been washed, and then he basically carries you everywhere around his house.
After which, Sukuna says he's driving you home and you end up spending a lovely morning receiving princess treatment from the man.
I'm sorry HELLO? I'm telling you this is weird behaviour for someone who supposedly fucks and dips… he seems to caring, especially towards her. I know he doesn't have feelings for her but what is it!!!
(i put this on my acc also if it's easier to read that way i dont know if these messages get cut off lmk!)
if u read this... thank u, and im sorry.
ly girl ur great!
Oh you’re gonna eat the next chapter I upload up ngl
So to start, I can’t confirm or deny anything as typically said :/
But I’ll instead give you more things to consider based on these thoughts of yours! These are in no specific order btw so bear with me pls !
—
One, as said before, no one knows the time frame on what Choso said about Sukuna being abusive to women & I’d also like to point out how it’s clearly said that Choso moved out of their shared home the moment he got the chance to years ago.
While this doesn’t make up for anything, it is something to consider since he was quite kind to the reader & for him to act such a way it’s just out of character compared to what Choso says :)
—
Two, the creep who harasses the reader twice is simply just an example of men who just dont take the hint. He blatantly ignored Gojo’s threat and still approached the reader anyways — it wasn’t set up at all ^.^
—
People keep asking why Sukuna would assume the reader knew Choso. Well, they do attend the same university & as seen in the most recent chapter, most people are aware of the two being brothers — the reader being the only one out of the loop. Hell, even Shoko knew a bit about them since she said Sukuna doesn’t like being referred to as Itadori.
—
It’s never stated that Sukuna typically fucks & leaves. If anything, notice how he offers to be fwb to the reader. Never is it specified that Sukuna is the type to fuck someone once & then dip, especially as it’s later revealed the reader isn’t the only woman he’s interested in having sex with as he says he called the “wrong whore”.
Plus, despite Choso’s claim of Sukuna hitting women & us not knowing the time frame on that, note that his aftercare could just be who he is. I had to make him the king of something in this fic & I chose aftercare💀
That being said, sure, later down the line you could assume Sukuna would lose his temper and lay his hand on someone but never would you know if his aftercare to the reader is exclusive only to her or just how he is.
—
Gojo sending the money the next morning isn’t unusual in any way.
When the reader slept with Toji, Gojo knew (assumed) she’d done it without even receiving a text from her so it’s safe to assume he did the same with Sukuna and figured after not hearing a word from the reader, she’d completed her goal.
—
I believe that’s about all I wanted to explain, the theory girlies are gonna eat this tf up so ty for the break down🫶
Oh, you still missed the detail I said no one found btw ;)

Hi! I just like binge read all of your tvd post and I adore them, I feel like you talk about the Mikaelson the way I feel about them, like I love the characters but they ARE awful and it causes this very push and pull with the way I view them and I'm ngl the fandom doesn't help when I'm trying to acknowledge the pit falls of the characters. that and I can't articulate the way I view characters well and I just really appreciate how multi dimensionally you view them because it really refreshing to see some one put it into words in a way I can't.
I don't know if this is the kind of thing you do or anything but I was wondering if I could ask you your opinion on Kai Parker? I feel like I view him the way I do Klaus and kol in sense. Like obviously he's a bad person but I feel like the level of fucked up he is and why hes that level of fucked up makes him a really interesting and enjoyable character for me, and it's kinda hard for me to say this because I Adore Bonnie Bennett. I personally don't believe liking one character cancels out the liking another but seeing how the fandom acts about it especially how many people will stand by Kia entirely and make Bonnie out to be this monster (because they're racist weirdos point blank.) makes it harder for me to feel comfortable voicing my intrestest in him as a character. Now I do think a lot of factors played into Kai becoming who he is and I can understand why people would empathize with him but I don't think it justifys how weird they are to Bonnie, yk? Idk this wasn't about Bonnie I got carried away but yeah I'd love your option about Kia Parker if you have one. I also understand entirely if you don't like him obviously everyone's entitled to there opinion and he did kill his siblings and stuff, but I'd love to hear your opinion on him regardless if your interested, that is. have a good day/night :)
Hello, love! I'm really glad you do, and I definitely agree. This fandom is very, very strict in which characters you can like and which ones you cannot. It's exhausting, to be honest.
I definitely like Kai, he was the only thing that kept my attention glued to the screen after the Originals left and he made the plot more entertaining. He was funny, downright evil and enjoyable to watch, but he was, at least for me, a very obvious mix between all the main villains/antagonists (Klaus, Damon, Kol, Katherine), and the writers clearly intended for their audience to see him as irredeemable, and this is of course tied to the fact there were no available white women to beacon him into "becoming a better person". Bonnie was around, but for obvious reasons she could never be that woman, though the writers certainly played around bonkai, having Kai have a clear interest in her even after she wasn't the key to make him escape his prison world.
I definitely think Kai had a rough childhood and did not deserve to be isolated, though that obviously doesn't excuse what he did to his siblings, but that's what makes him a good character in my eyes. He was a good antagonist but an awful evil person, the circumstances surrounding why he became that person are tragic and sad, and that's okay, because that's in my opinion exactly what a character like Kai should be. And no, that doesn't excuse what he did to his family either, before anyone thinks that's what I was implying.
Though I do not understand why Kai gets so much hate over the whole "killing children" as if the Mikaelson or the Salvatore had gone through centuries of their lives without harming a single child (Klaus ordered to have his unborn daughter killed, for god's sake), and it's really funny how bonkai is portrayed as this top awful abusive couple when every single ship in tvd is. I definitely get the appeal of Bonnie and Kai, the only thing that prevents me from shipping them is the fact she nearly killed herself because of him, there are a few lines I won't cross when it comes to shipping, sa/rape and suicide are on that list, but people need to stop acting like they're worse than the other more popular couples.
To summarize it, I like Kai a lot, I understand why some other people don't (I do, really!), but nothing justifies what he put his family and Bonnie through.
Thanks for the ask, darling. You have a good day/night too!

HAZBIN HOTEL THEORY W SPOILERSISH
Firmly believe that Eve and Lilith switched places, Consensually. We've all seen how Adam is about women in general and how trash he is, plus how Lucifer has obviously been in a funk/depression for a LONG time as even Charlie could remember even as a small child that he wasn't feeling okay.
Now I don't think they did it to be malicious or as some manipulative scheme, but instead as two strong women who have spent their entire lives managing or taking care of the men they are around, and when they met again realized that the other's place is what they needed, even if just for a little while.
Eve being in Hell allows her to be free and not having someone belittle/talk down to her as she finds what makes her truly happy without limits and Lilith in Heaven gives her peace and to take care of herself. As someone who's had burnout of taking care of someone you love for so long, it takes a toll and they switched places to help themselves heal/get better to be better for those who need them.
Now, Alastor. I believe that Lilith made a deal with Alastor like many have theorized but instead of him hanging around Lilith I believe that she had him be around Eve as she took Lilith's place as someone who could be a guide in Hell while figuring herself out. I also do not think Adam or Charlie are aware of this arrangement between Eve and Lilith as I don't see Lilith as a mother who would abandon her child for her own selfish needs, and instead did it when Charlie began leaving their home and doing her own things in Hell.
Now, with a comment that Lucifer told Adam at the Finale I'm inclined to believe that Lucifer does know his wife and Eve traded places, but doesn't know it was because she needed a break from his Depression. But, I do think she is going to be very happy to see that her husband is doing much better with a better relationship with their daughter and that Lilith only kept Charlie at a certain distance from Lucifer cause she didn't want Charlie to see how bad his depression made him or make her feel like she had to stay around in obligation to help them, wanting her daughter to feel free to do what she wanted.
Obviously, a theory and nothing confirmed, but I can't see the creator making Eve or Lilith crappy characters, especially how everyone was upset that Stolas's (ex)wife became such a simple hated character, someone who just seemed to make it feel okay how Stolas treated others and support his relationship with Blitz. I can't wait to see what actually happens with the characters though, especially with how it ended and I encourage everyone to go watch and support Hazbin Hotel finally making their way to streaming!

You may be the first person to agree with me that Michael Trevino is more attractive than Joseph Morgan, so now I’m curious. Who are the most attractive (purely based on looks) cast members in your opinion?
I am the worst person to ask this. My friends hate talking about celebrities with me or even sending me pics of people they find attractive because I have a very specific view of what I find attractive. I identify as pansexual and demisexual, meaning I do tend to need to emotionally bond with someone to find them attractive so I struggle to focus purely on looks. Like I can tell if someone is objectively attractive but sometimes everyone will be obsessed with an actor and I just don't get it. I can understand that Nate Buz is objectively attractive, but because I can't stand him as a person, I just don't personally find him attractive. I also tend to find women way more attractive than men. As you will see by my lists.
It also really depends on what you mean by "based purely on their looks." There are people who are "scientifically" attractive, but I just don't find them that attractive. It's impossible to be completely objective when talking about attraction. Everyone is attracted to different things.
I will say, I typically don't like light haired men, which explains the Trevino over Morgan opinion. It's not that I can't recognize Joseph Morgan (Klaus) is attractive. He's just not in the top for me. I also feel like people tend to find him more attractive because of his accent. Although, I will admit I liked him more with his longer, curly hair. But that also could just be because that's when his character gets more tolerable for me.
I also want to remind everyone that these are my opinions. Everyone has their own opinions and it doesn't mean your fav isn't attractive. These are just who I think is most attractive. Let's be honest, the cast is stacked with extremely attractive people. If they are not on the list, they are still attractive, it is just a very competitive field.
(This does not include Legacies cause I haven't really watched it)
Most Attractive Cast Members in My (un)Biased Opinion
It's going to come as no surprise who I consider to be the most attractive in the show. They also happen to be my favorite ships from each show. I swear I am trying to be objective but they seriously were the stand outs to me the first time I watched the shows. I mean just look at them. There is a reason that both Kat and Phoebe do modeling on the side. As for the men, you may say I have a type, but it's hard to deny that Daniel and Michael are not at least in the top, if not the top, for men. But if that's not objective enough for you, here's my top lists excluding them:
Most Attractive Men
We can't have a list of most attractive men without Charles Michael Davis topping the list. Marcel is one of the most attractive men in this series. I won't hear any arguments against it. His smile is just top tier. I don't feel like I need to say anything else to prove my point. Just look at that man.
I feel like Michael Trevino (Tyler) and Collin Woodell (Aiden) have very similar vibes. This is maybe less objective than not, but I just found them more attractive than some of the more popular characters that usually top the lists. Also, I thought it would be inappropriate to put them without their shirts on, but... I mean, come on.
Yusuf Gatewood is not talked about enough. I was not a huge Finn fan in TVD, nothing against Casper, but I was just never drawn in by that character. But Yusuf as Finn really pulled me in. I also just have a thing for smiles. He has such a captivating smile.
I can see that they are objectively attractive but not at the top of my personal list:
Ian Somerhalder as Damon. I know this may anger some people, but I just have never been an Ian girl. I get what people like, but his eyes always freaked me out a little bit. He just doesn't rank high for me, sorry! Joseph Morgan as Klaus. Joseph Morgan just doesn't top the list, but I just don't find light haired men that attractive. I'm not saying he's not, he just isn't in my top. Paul Wesley as Stefan. I loved Stefan and he has the stereotypical "good looks." He is pretty high on the list still, just not in the top. Chris Wood as Kai. I don't have much to say on this one. He's objectively attractive but again, just not at the top of my list. David Alpay as Atticus Shane. I know he was awful but objectively he is very attractive. Steven McQueen as Jeremy. He definitely had a glow up from the emo teen to the vampire hunter.
Most Attractive Women Spoiler alert, it's all of them
Like, my god, even actresses with the smallest screen time carried the show. These aren't really in order but I tried. I can't even begin to rank them against each other. I hated Monique's character but my god, Yasmine Al-Bustami is beautiful. Nishi Munshi (Gia) is just a gorgeous human being. I didn't like Antoinette, but I would do anything for Jaime Murray. I'm obsessed with everything Nathalie Kelley (Sybil) does.
This is not to say that the other actresses aren't beautiful. Again, everyone is gorgeous. These women just felt next level gorgeous to me, whereas, actresses like Candice and Nina felt more girl next door, if that makes sense. Like Inadu (Blu Hunt) was killing all of my faves and I was still somehow rooting for her (jk, mostly).
I know most of my list is from The Originals, but that tends to be the show I rewatch the most. I also feel like they tend to have more actors. TVD had the same actors playing like 20 different roles.

Why do these people NEED Jungkook to be a fuckboy so bad? It's so WEIRD. The "kpop idols can have whoever they want" is only used when talking about Jungkook, and it's not from today that people have this unhealthy, weird obsession with him being straight and wishing that he fucks every girl that he breathes next to, probably fucking y/n's, weirdos. I mean, the other day I saw a tweet that literally said Jungkook couldn't stand next to a woman, with the innuendo that he couldn't stand next to them without flirting or wanting to fuck. What the fuck is wrong with these people? Why can't they just leave him alone? Yes, sure, he grew up, he matured, but that doesn't change the fact that he IS a romantic, and that doesn't change just because the person has money and fame... Not everyone wants random hookups, regardless of fame and money, that's not what life is all about! And smoking and drinking have no correlation with sex or a "fuckboy lifestyle", it's just how some people like to relieve themselves from stress, or they just want to have a good time. God forbid!
Hi anon. I agree with you. I wish I knew why they need it so bad or maybe I don’t. I can’t comprehend people’s obsession with Jungkook as some hetero fuckboy. I definitely think they are a bunch of y/n weirdos that need to project that onto him so they feel like they could have a “chance” 🤢 if they ever met him. I really don’t think my asexuality is to blame for why this kind of behavior grosses me out so much, but maybe it is.
Acting like Jungkook can’t sit next to women is laughable. I mean, I have yet to see him have any sexual chemistry with a woman 🤣 they are really grasping at straws with that one.
Jungkook is a romantic. But it just goes to show that these people aren’t actually fans of his. They just probably watch thirst trap TikToks of him so they can have whatever mental image of him that they want. Because if they actually watched content and saw how he truly is, they would have a hard time keeping up their fantasy.
Smoking is huge in Korea. It’s an appetite suppressant, and skinny is extremely glorified there, so smoking equals less food (don’t even get me started). And their work culture is super toxic capitalism that glorifies working super long hours, so smoking allows for breaks and is a means to cope with stress. Alcohol consumption is huge there too not just celebs everyone. So yeah, there is no correlation. Plus, our little introvert likes to drink at home. I’m sure he goes out sometimes, but Jungkook seems to be a homebody like me. But sure, he’s meeting all these women at clubs and bars and hooking up way them in the name of “fuckboy lifestyle”. I’ll say it again, that I think his musical direction lately caused an uptick in these people. They are discovering him for the first time, seeing him hip thrusting on stage, singing hetero songs, and declaring that as who he is off stage too. Thus, fueling the y/ns that already existed in the fandom allowing them to be louder and even more annoying. I hate it, truly. Jungkook is really good about shutting people down, but there are always those that refuse to listen. Like those in my ask box saying that he never shut down rumors. 🙄 I haven’t seen another idol receive the same labeling as JK. As someone who is a true fan of his as a human being not just for his talent, it’s disheartening. I keep trying to see MS as a positive thing (probably so I can cope) if anything good can come out of it, can it please be that these weird people find something else to do and forget about the tannies come 2025? Thanks.

Dorian Gray in an Unjust World
The timing is bad (work, flare-up, life stuff, deadlines etc) but I need the thoughts I had on my last reread of The Picture of Dorian Gray off my chest.
Textually, Dorian's portrait is not alive. It may be an ever-updating record of Dorian's choices, analogous to what we now call a living document, but it's still an object. It's not a victim or even a witness, only a piece of evidence. He's done terrible things to so many people, but the portrait isn't one of them.
I can still read the book the way I first read it when I was much younger, when I went in already knowing to some extent the author's intent and what makes it a work of gothic horror.
Back then I knew that he wasn't writing about helplessness, but about a young man with agency choosing time and time again to make the most psychospiritually corrosive choices. Though the pain Dorian causes others is an important window into what is evil, ultimately it's a book about evil, not a book about pain. And it's a damn good book about evil.
Now, though. Now I have so much more experience with evil than I did when on my first read-through. Back then my one abusive parent was the only true horror I knew, but now I've seen the insides of so many caustic systems and rotten institutions and the people who collectively make them work that way. I've met dozens of Lord Henrys myself and probably read about another thousand or so in the news and the uncountable would-be Dorian Grays who channel them.
More importantly, I've seen the damage done, the pain that bears witness to evil. I've known the Sybil Vanes and Basil Hallwards of the world, and though I've seen plenty young and innocent in their graves just as in the book, I've seen so many more live to bear the emotional and psychosocial scars those wounds leave when they don't kill you.
And yes we're all a little bit Dorian, everyone's done something that would make their portrait sneer at some point, but we're all a bit Sybil too, injured by the wrongdoing of others. We're all a little bit Basil sitting in front of someone begging them to be better, to stop making choices that hurt others, and just like Basil more often than not all we'll get for our trouble is to be the next one hurt.
So on my latest reread, something sucker punched me: if the portrait had feelings, how much it would hate him for what's been done to it. And though the portrait doesn't have feelings, the real people Dorian makes an impact on bear his cruelties by proxy just as much as the portrait does.
Our most callous choices do not leave lasting marks on only our own selves. They do real and lasting harm to others: others' bodies and brains (which are really one and the same thing), others' hearts, others' lives. You can etch the lines into someone else's face or take the light of hope from their eyes without ever meeting or knowing them.
The supernatural forces which govern Dorian's portrait protect him from what he's doing to himself, but the emotional damage he inflicts on others is still visible in THEIR faces. He still leaves his mark on the world and on the people he's wronged.
We can almost draw a line through each of the characters from Henry down wherein each one's relative agency diminishes as their own goodness or innocence within the narrative increases.
1. Dorian had many, many choices, and with mildly coercive influence from Henry he made all the cruelest ones.
2. Alan (the chemist who helps Dorian conceal a murder) was blackmailed with a terrible fate, and he knowingly did an evil thing under duress.
3. Sybil's brother James didn't strictly NEED to swear revenge for what was done to his sister (indeed there's a lot of discussion about misogyny and the disposability of women who were seen as having "lost their virue" to be had, some of it potentially damning to James himself), but there was zero chance of anyone facing consequences for it any other way.
Just as we see so often in real life recorded history and in our own time, James' tale of revenge ends anticlimactically for him because he's a working class labourer, while Dorian's life takes the novel-worthy trajectory because he's of high enough social class for it to happen.
4. Sybil did nothing wrong, yet Dorian had the power to destroy her life, and he chose to use it. Her only share of agency was whether to live the life of suffering that remained to her or to die. Dorian may not have killed her with his own hands, but her suicide was a murder on many levels. Just as her brother could've been a protagonist in some other novel had he more status and means, she could've been a protagonist in some other story if her virginity weren't the sole cornerstone of her future.
4. Lastly, Basil actively tried to do the right thing, using what influence he might have had on Dorian to try to stem the flow of horrors, but was basically talking to a wall. Despite being of about the same social status as Dorian and Henry, Basil's voice had so much less impact on events than Henry's that you almost beg him to turn and run for his life instead.
The shock hit me the exact moment Basil asks Dorian to repent all he's done, because without realizing it, up until that point I'd been seeing myself as Dorian.
When I read Picture half my lifetime ago I did not put myself in any one character's shoes in particular, though at 16 I was perhaps even more egotistical than I might be now. The connection had nothing to do with seeing oneself as a main character or not; it was about seeing myself as having been warped by life.
"How can I repent sins that aren't mine?" I thought, and only then did I realize that wasn't a thought from the mind of Dorian, Alan, James, Sybil or Basil. I'd been seeing myself as living flesh and bone and brain that's been used the same way the portrait has.
Dorian's portrait ages prematurely from the choices he makes about his own body, but you don't have to be shallow or ageist to agree that it's ugly. Before any of the youth and conventional beauty captured there is ever diminished, the first change- the one that appears after his first cruel and selfish act- is to the expression he wears. The smile of a young man who hasn't yet crushed or destroyed anyone turns to the sadistic, leering grin of someone who has, and who leans into the power rather than into the potential for remorse.
The Machiavellian socialite of the portrait isn't me, but that sense of losing my innocence to someone else's choices is.
The parts of my personality that I find most unpleasant to look at- the tendency to take refuge in despair because hope is painful, the way I sometimes indulge in misanthropy so that the bitter truths of the world we live in can hurt just a tiny bit less to acknowledge- you can't cultivate those in a person who has as much power and privilege as Dorian Gray, but they have just as much potential to be used as justification for behaving in ways that protect or empower oneself at the cost of others. Simply having less access to the levers of power does not absolve us of our capacity for evil.
Maybe that's what Sybil Vane would look like if she'd lived to see her 30s, resentful and sad and, above all, defeated. Or if I'm being more honest about my place in the exploitative structures of colonialism wherein we live, maybe that stress-worn face of resentment and resignation in the mirror is akin to what Alan looks like after another ten years of desperately holding onto the secrecy that keeps him from being skewered by the deadly homophobic institutions of his time- bought at the price of complicity in murder.
The novel itself is the true portrait of Dorian- without seeing the lives of Basil, Sybil, James and Alan, we would have absolutely no way to understand the connection between the malevolent individual in the painting and the malevolent life this superficially beautiful boy has led. And in this way, each person he wronged is a reflection of his cruelty- a portrait of Dorian rather than of themselves.

Gosho. I am begging you. If you want to make Miike and Chiba seem like a romantic couple, can you STOP showing the moment where he screams at for crossing trying to cross the road on an empty street when the lights are red. It's not romantic in the slightest, also, if the street is empty, many people cross the road regardless of the lights.
She and Chiba were in the same class in school. They did a movie together. Surely there are some romantic moments between them you can creat between them in that setting? That wouldn't be Chiba screaming at a Miike and making her cry?
...Takagi. You are dating Satou? Why would you deny it?
Okay. I want to speak about this actually. Chiba hasn't shown any interest Miike at all, he just considers her a coworker. He has shown no attraction whatsoever, and I'll be honest, I don't believe it's due to him just "waiting" for his childhood love and so he's not looking at any women. I know he'll suddenly be extremely into her the moment that he learns the truth but it just comes across as contrived.
Shinichi is so adorable. I love how he acts annoyed the kids want to check out the crime scene but he was actually happy they did as he wanted to go as well.
Shinichi is such a lil' Shit. He couldn't resist teasing Takagi.
This woman is going to die, I know. And instead of sharing what she suspected was happening, she decided to investigate alone <.<
Ai is not wrong. It must be unnerving for everyone how used to death Shinichi is, especially as he currently looks so young.
Oof, Yumi is going to be unfairly targeted, isn't she.
So all three people had valid reasons why they didn't very much care for the law at this moment? Perhaps rules don't always have to be followed so much, especially in extreme circumstances these three listed.
Shukichi is a very caring boyfriend. I wish it wasn't framed negatively though, it's nice that he's so concerned and wants to check up on his lover.
...Yumi is going to give Satou grey hairs T-T So is Takagi.
LMAO Yumi is such a tease. She's great.
It's nice to see the police do their jobs without needing the MC help them along. I know Shinichi will come in clutch but they should still be decent at their jobs, especially the police detectives, so I like that they're getting to show why they have their jobs.
Surprise Akai! I wonder if Shukichi contacted him to keep Yumi safe? Does Shukichi know Akai is alive and can contact him? WELL THAT JUST ANSWERS THAT QUESTION.
Awwwww, Akai is looking out for his future sister-in-law.
I love that the police just give Shinichi information now. They know the gremlin will find it out eventually so they might as well tell him so he can help.
...Miike. You know there is someone targetting female cops who are members of the traffic department. Why. Why would you not be so suspicious of this man asking for you to look inside his car?
Chiba is witnessing first hand how terrifying Shinichi can be.
Shinichi, you're supposed to sing lullabies, not shout them out.
...Shinichi. You weirdo. "How do I distract the culprit? I know, I'll sing a nursery rhyme!"
Okay, but the culprit isn't wrong. If someone tells you that they know a person is about to commit suicide, it's the police's job to find the person to prevent the death. It's why wellness checks exist, even if the police can so disgusting and corrupt and can cause more harm than good with them.
Fuck the rules if it means it will save someone's life.
I obviously don't agree with the actions of the culprit but as someone whose own brother was lost to suicide and the people responsible for checking on him failed to do their jobs, I know exactly how he feels.
When I say you hate the people you believe is responsible, it's an understatement.
It doesn't matter if it was too late, if they had done their jobs, it could have helped put those who cared about the one who committed suicide at ease and told them at least they tried.
