Vader being so used to chronic pain that he doesn't think anything is 'that bad' anymore. He'd literally be bedridden needing space morphine pumped into his veins and he'd still insist that his pain isn't that bad and he should be up working because that's how it has been for 20 years being gaslit by palpatine.

Vader underreporting his symptoms so much that Luke has to force connect with him and feel his pains himself to correctly report them to the medic. Luke also is very bad at assessing his own pain but he tries hard to be objective, and also Vader's chronic pain is that insurmountable

Luke's like what the actual fuck dad this is literally worse than that one time I got electrocuted and Vader would be like this is just another thursday?? I need to do paperwork
