It’s kinda interesting how he says that it would be “ep 0?” - so like if Cole is there …then he would first return during the shorts. Meaning the shorts take place before the season..right? If that’s the case then we would get an explanation during the shorts but I’m not sure. But if they’re “episode 0” in a way - then it means it takes place before season 2.

I want Riyu vs Arin. I want Riyu vs Arin because look at me. LOOK at me. A dragon’s great size and weight are useful in battle.

Unless it’s a battle against someone that dragon would rather die than lay one claw on.

There’ll probably be quite a bit of time before they see each other again, and Riyu’s not done growing. We’ve seen how big a typical adult mountain dragon is compared to a normal ass human being. Okay. Riyu may very well not be full grown by then but he’s certainly going to be bigger than he is now. But even if he was the size of a damn archdragon he would not hurt Arin, ever. Not on purpose.

I’m imagining it; Arin’s either guarding something, or trying to get Riyu to stop following after he’s tracked him and Ras down. He’d be going in for blow after blow, and Riyu would be dodging out of the way to the best of his ability, letting himself be forced backward, but Arin is small and agile. Imagine the deep set fear in your gut if you were extremely huge, extremely heavy, covered in armor, and having sharp claws and a tail club, trying to maneuver around someone much smaller and faster than you who is determined not to leave you be. Imagine trying not to stumble and fall and risk crushing him one way. Trying not to take one wrong step and crush him another way. Trying to keep your tail high off the ground so you don’t break his ribs swinging it into him on accident as you twist and turn trying and failing to keep him in your line of sight. All while pleading and begging to just stop, just talk, and trying not to beat your wings in stress and alarm because that, or even trying to take flight and escape, might slam him hard into the ground.

I’m imagining him raising his head up, clenching his jaws; you can see the whites of his eyes. Now, i truly do not see Arin going in for the kill or even to really injure much. Just to instill fear. Brute strength and fear. And I would argue that scaring someone several times your size who desperately does not want to hurt you and will never forgive themself if they do is an easier thing to do than scaring a fellow human being. Riyu could try and pin Arin to try and make him listen. But what if he brings him down too hard? What if he crushes him that way, too? What if? What if? What if?

Combat moments I appreciated in drs2p2:

When Zane lost his fight. I know they later found out the game was rigged, but NOTHING stood in the way of Zane winning that match. Which ig some could argue that's poor writing but it fits perfectly into my own personal headcanons so here's my interpretation:

Zane didn't lose that fight to his opponent, he lost that fight to himself. Bro is off his game. His head's not in it. First of all he's frequently been staying behind from missions: he's still processing the fact that he's lost months, if not years, to being in stasis. Which we still don't know the reason for. Additionally, he's worried about Pixal. He's a little lost in his own head right now.

Second of all: they JUST said this is a battle of elements and it would be unfair to use every fancy technique in their repertoire. So Zane was overthinking how to win this fight with mostly just his powers. Not to mention this was supposed to be a friendly competition. Which is NOT Zane's strong suit. Zane is a precision guy who's used to fighting in life or death situations. He's often thought of as the deadliest ninja of the team for good reason. Even disregarding the brutality he inflicted as the Ice Emperor, his kill count is probably the highest of the team on account of how he's made of METAL and just a punch from him can break bones. His strength is taking down threats in as few strikes as possible.

Zane lost that fight because right now his feelings are taking up like 80% of his RAM, so he didn't have the capacity to figure out how to win without seriously injuring his opponent.

I also liked how Kai got dropped through the portal just ready to fight immediately. He didn't know what was going on he just got here but he's always ready to just rip anyone to shreds. Oh we're fighting? Sick! He had 0 idea that was the winner of the tournament who in that moment harboured every elemental power but his own. He just saw a bully picking on his friends and kicked it into high gear. AND HE HELD HIS GROUND for SO LONG. PROOF they had to stick him in a void or he would have won the whole tournament, rigged or not.

Those 2 moments reminded me of in season 6 when Zane lost to Nadakhan in a game of logic because his feelings got the best of him, and how Kai had to get captured first or else he'd probably throw a wrench in Nadakhan's divide and conquer strategy by being the insanely strong glue that makes the team stick together.

Huge fan of all the regional Sora's I've seen around lately and wanted to do my own so . like . Boston Sora and Arin but specifically based on different types of kids at my school who are like Similar enough that u could mesh them into two designs iykwim .

no shade but i don't get ppl who think wyldfyre having a little crush is ooc or ppl who just hate having a fun little side romance in general. this season has a lot of heavy shit so it was nice to see wyldfyre finding a new innocent connection after going thru so much and losing her mentor. and also wild child x ipad baby is funny
