Wait, Price snuck off 30mins into entering the bar? Who did he find so fast, Nik?

No but Nik does hold the record for quickest time between bar entry and hookup. Going a whopping 2 minutes between entering the bar and spotting a pretty thing to cart off somewhere private. His trick? A flash of gold chain over a blanket of chest hair, and 400 dollars.

Got inspired by @eowynstwin ‘s take on the 141 as artists and wrote similar thoughts for Nikolai, Nikto and König. Hope it’s okay.

Nikolai is a photographer. He fell in love with the realism the medium has to offer, but also with how easy it can be to tweak things and make them seem unreal. He likes to experiment with multiple filters, parameters and subjects, but his favorite element to capture is nature - especially the wintery forests of Russia he used to explore as a young child, rolling around in the snow and collecting frozen pine cones.

He loves to bask in the silence such landscapes bring ; the slow passing of time his camera comes to immortalize ; the wildlife he sometimes encounters, so alive despite the cold death lingering around ; the shimmers of the ice upon frozen rivers and branches. The details he catches under the cold sun seem surreal, out of this world even. But they all find their place in his own universe, away from the never-ending bustle of his life.

Nikto also fell for the charm of realism, except he pursues it with charcoal instead. There’s something familiar and almost nostalgic about the dry feeling it leaves on his skin, the delicate sticks staining his hands with a darkness similar to the one clouding his mind.

The subjects he draws are dark, sometimes unsettling, reminiscent of his nightmares and the horrors he’s seen. Yet some might see a peculiar longing in some almost invisible details of his art - a strange sliver of hope among the shadows.

He only works on his art during the night, when the world quiets down enough for him to make sense of his thoughts. When nobody dares to expect anything from him.

It’s also the time when no one can see him delve into his more indulgent dreams - allowing himself to wish for more peace with his pencil gliding freely on the paper.

After retiring, König fell into wood carving. The way the knife slices into the wood, singing differently depending on his choice of material, never fails to be relaxing. Soothing. Healing. He spends hours upon hours peeling delicate layers off of a block, no matter its size. It allows his mind to finally go quiet, detangles the nerves he’s constantly fighting.

The only downside is that he tends to lose track of time, sitting outside or in the small atelier he put together, carving away until hunger clouds his focus or his eyes refuse to stay open any longer. But he doesn’t mind. After a life spent trying to quell his thoughts, the anxiety coursing through his veins like blood, this newfound relief is worth getting sidetracked. It brought peace in his daily retired life, one he thought he would be longing for until his end.

The captain has a rubber duck on his desk. A rubber duck with aviator sunglasses, to be more specific. It sits right next to his favorite mug and a framed picture of his childhood dog.

Ghost obviously notices. He tried not to say anything about it. He really did. But come on, it’s something he can make fun of his captain for. Would you pass up such an opportunity?

“The fuck is that?” He asks, pointing at the rubber duck

“The fuck does it look like?” Price answers, putting out his cigar on a hot pink ashtray that says BLOWJOB QUEEN with big sparkly letters (a gift from Gaz and Soap, naturally). There’s a brief pause before Ghost opens his mouth again.

“Where’d you get it, then? We barely have the time to-“

“Gift from Laswell.” Price set his pen down with a sigh, giving up on the paperwork in front of him.

They both stare at the duck in silence, observing it.

“Kinda looks like Nikolai, innit?”

Price nods and chuckles. A week later, on the bookshelf right behind the captain’s chair sits three rubber ducks. One with a cap, one with a Mohawk, and one with a mask.

When they're sick:

Price: He's fine stop asking. No he has to get his work done, no time for rest. He said he's fine! That cough is normal, yes puking is normal. He's got shit to do!

Graves: End of the world, he's dying. This is it, this is how he dies. He's laying in bed crying until the second he can breathe out of his nose again.

Nik: Wait, he was sick? Since when? You're lying, he never gets sick.

Ghost: He's working until his bones break. He needs to be watched or he's trying to get out of bed. Will behave as long as he's constantly supervised. Is that medicine orange flavor? He's going to kill you, cherry only.

Soap: He's either absolutely fine or he's dying, there's no in between. Don't touch him he bites or if he doesn't have any head pats he's going to cry.

Gaz: Oh, he's taking a sick day. He doesn't want to risk getting anyone sick. Is he dying? No, his doctor says he'll be fine. He'll be fine, he'll catch up on sleep.

Laswell: Don’t touch her she'll stab you. Don’t look at her she's fine. Her wife made her soup, don't even look at it. Why is she still working? Who else is doing her damn job? Exactly.

Alex: He can handle being shot better than a cold. He hates everything, he's melting, he's dying. Tell Farah he tried (he'll be fine in two days).

Farah: Sick? Does it look like she has time to be sick?

Alejandro: He's doubled his work load. He gets more productive when sick. He has his spicy soup, he's going to live forever.

Rudy: Sick? He's immune to all such things. He hasn't been sick since he was five.

it’s sad when Gaz is excluded in MW content and to defend him most people just bring up how cute he is, which isn’t wrong. but also we should acknowledge he is just a good character overall.

it’s disappointing that so many fans exclude interesting and well developed characters due to their looks or just them not being men. many characters in cod who are not conventionally attractive or are women are often not brought up by fans.

characters should not be disregarded because of design, gender, etc. let’s not make this a trend in the community.

More Nik headcanons! This does NOT include spoilers for the new game! I'm not super happy with how this turned out, (it hasn't been edited and it's a little all over the place) but I needed to get something out so here it is! • Takes great pride in how he looks and dresses. Invests in high quality clothes (not necessarily designer though) and hygiene products. Probably something do to with the control it allows him plus he's already got a rough job. Might as well be comfortable and look good if shits gonna hit the fan.

• I do think that gold chain has some sentimental value to him. Even sees it as a good luck charm. In my relationship hcs of him I love to see it as a gift from his SO. It is with my oc at least.

• This one's kind of... random and out of the way but he seems like he'd be good at chess, even though he rarely, if ever, plays it. Not good at checkers though. No clue why or how

• Knew Yegor when he (Yegor) first started dealing in arms and cigs, but it wasn't until after Yegor got on Zakhaevs bad side they really were able to get close. Nik probably helped him get away from Z. I wouldn't be surprised if that's part of the reason he's so loyal to Nik when he ends up joining Chimera. That, and Nik seems like the type of person to help with Yegors kids

• Speaking of Yegor, because of his experience dealing in arms he often helps Nik with that side of Chimera. Probably is the stand in leader while Nik's running around with Price

• Chimera is his pride and joy. He treats it very well and is incredibly careful about his deals and who he hires. Very few people outside the group know where the main base is. (TF141 and Laswell, for example)

• Sees the members of Chimera as his family and will die protecting them. Syd, Iskra, Krueger, Yegor, Farah, all of them. Knows their likes and dislikes by heart, helps them through hard times (and there's a lot given their jobs), jokes around with them, etc. etc.

(P.S. Used Yegor a lot here because he was in MW19, but I'll definitely include the others in later posts!)

Nikolai who stops wearing cologne, one day.

It’s not because he can’t afford it, not in the slightest.

Not because he ran out, absolutely not, he’s on top of everything. Spares upon spares.

Not because he’s suddenly turned against the stuff, either.

No, it’s because Price mentioned it makes his nose sting.

It’s the same reason Price stopped buying fabric conditioner. Nikolai always seemed to spend too much time tugging at his clothes when he used the stuff, too much time in bed tossing and turning, too much time massaging reddening shoulders. Nik was allergic, and so Price happily accepted the slightly coarser jackets.

The same reason Nikolai cooked steak to medium rare, instead of his preferred very. He knew Price always struggled a bit with unclean food, always struggled with the fear of food poisoning, especially given he never had the chance to take such liberties as a child.

Same reason Price let Nik into his office. He loathed people in his space. Freaked him out. Preferred having a space to himself, a place that wasn’t filled with shouts and arguing and warmth and people. Rather, a space alone. But when Nik stumbled onto base after a 22-hour flight, Price unlocked it without a second thought.
