My name is Blimmery Owding, and I dug Maelin's grave.

With that chilling sentence, we step back into the Belladonna series, and I was hooked already.

I am so glad this novella happened. It gives a whole new look at Blimmery, but I also had so many questions about Maelin when she was mentioned in Nightshade Academy. While I would have loved to get more of her thoughts (we do get one chapter slightly told by her), getting to see her from an outside perspective adds a lot. With Yashi we already have someone who isn't so quick to believe the lies of the Force, and who is ready to stand against them. With Blimmery, we have someone who uncovers secrets, but isn't brave enough to act on them.

I feel like it's so easy to want more from Blimmery, to expect him to stand up in a losing battle. Even though we see that's not his personality, we see his hesitation and how unsure he is in himself. And we see how hopeless his situation is in trying to save Maelin.

One thing's for sure - if you're new to the Belladonna series, this is an excellent starting point, or novella to pick up while you're waiting for Underground Royalty. I'm so excited to get back into this world, and I'm definitely going to be reading this book again in the future, along with Nightshade Academy, to see all the easter eggs I missed and get ready for the next book!

Thank you to Mel and Lost Island Press for the ARC. Can't wait for this one to be released! Expected release date is May 11, 2024.

Anyways, in my AU the RBA recruits have graduated and become teachers at RBA. They will be mentor / older-sibling figures to the Terrans.

I still need to work on their design but here’s a scaling chart of them with the Terrans!

I hope this is what you meant AHSBHA I tbh just used this to draw my faves from beast wars (Except for Terrorsaur because I wanted to pick the ones probably least likely to murder the Terrans on sight). Also idk if adding Tarantulas was cheating because they already met him, but he IS my fave character in both Earthspark and BW. Grimlock is also one of my faves but I decided having 1 character already in Earthspark (other than the Terrans) was enough.

Cheetor is probably just happy that this Tarantulas isn’t torturing him this time around. Dinobot is in the back questioning why they aren’t doing combat training ??? Decided to add Slash (TF:RBA) too because I thought having some more small dinos would be fun. And Waspinator has been blown up (as always) by the smart trainer.

I’m not shading allat sorry chat BUT I enjoyed drawing my faves HEHEHE (BW is peak and everybody should watch it.)

Screw their height in the series, it’s just confusing. Here is what I believe their heights are in comparison to other recruits and Terrans

The random yellow line would be Bumblebee’s height, and I really do think that Hashtag is way taller than any other recruit or Terran (actually, she’s smaller than Elita-1 but her alt mode is larger than Elita’s)

When you post your works, you'll be anonymous until 9:00pm AEST, Christmas Eve (24/12/2024). Your gift is the satisfaction of being right & having new TWW fic to read, or the disappointment of being wrong that quickly leaves because there's new TWW fic to read!!! Whether you're writing fic for the books, the movie, the 1998 series, The New Worst Witch, or the 2017 series, any form of The Worst Witch is welcome! <3

Rescue Bots in Earthspark anon, if the Terrans meet the Rescue Bots in universe, they would probably have an episode where they decide to try out being a Rescue Bot themselves and end up discovering something about themselves in the process. Don't know if the Rescue Bot Academy bots would be in that mix given how it seems like there haven't been many bots younger than Bumblebee shown in the show.

On a semi-related note, if Whirl does appear in ES, I kind of want them to be like their Cyberverse version while the RBA version of him would be Twirl and his "daughter."

You're very right yes yes, and I can see them certainly considering it (especially Nightshade thanks to that episode where they played temporary Batman for a minute)

I feel like it would be so goddamn adorable if, after they get the Allspark and a bit after that, they meet the rescue bots again with new recruits (whether it's the recruits we see in RBA or brand new ones)

Yes on Whirl and baby Whirl being Twirl

Whirl would be somewhat older than the terrans, but probably still young and from the Allspark creating a spark, and I can see Whirl protecting her fiercely

He'd also represent another autobot who's rough around the edges!

I can actually see him assuming the terrans are a threat at first because unfamiliar mecha and Whirl is still pretty prickly, but I can see him calming down a lot upon being told / realizing they're just kids too.

I feel like there would be cool interactions between Hashtag and Twirl, Twirl would make a comment about how Hashtag sounds super duper cool and fun emotions ensue

Twitch and Whirl would literally do everything together I can seriously see them make matching friendship bracelets.

JB and Hoist are going to be the best of friends because the Dino due thing and both have Grimlock as a father/mentor (I hope).

Wedge and Alex arguing who the real #1 fan of bumblebee is.

Medix and Hashtag starting their own band.

Medix and Nightshade would definitely share their interests in science (I can see Nightshade wanting Preceptor as dad 3)

Hotshot and Thrash definitely be racing each other to see who the fastest is (and then Twitch comes crashing in cuz it a competition and she wanna win it).
