Having finally read through the entire first 18 issues of the Spider-Man/Deadpool comics I am in love with this ship.

Like even without ANY former comic book context or knowledge it was just a really addictive story. Is Peter Parker some super rich CEO in this universe? Yes. Okay weird flex but sure I'll go with that, he seems pretty reluctant about it but I'm down.

Is Deadpool married to a literal succubus demon and Queen of Hell? Yeah for sure I've got no clue where this came from but hey apparently THE Death is also his ex girlfriend. Comic books are weird...

But OMG the TROPES.

Deadpool IDOLISES Spidey. He is head over heels for Spidey! Even with the big secret hit on Peter Parker he chooses to be better for Spidey.

The whole dancing in their underwear at the bar for Thor and the succubus demon.

Deadpools free pass list with Spidey as No.5 (love that Spidey just pretends he didn't see that.)

The fact that just like another certain popular pairing I love, it seems all their enemies know there is something between them, Shiklah is clearly jealous and Itsy Bitsy asks if they are gonna kiss.

The Christmas issue was so cute especially this moment:

The way deadpool worries so much about Spidey going dark, how he starts abandoning his principles, how he care SO much and just wants to help whilst Spidey dismisses him.

The literal fight for Spidey's actual soul is just sooooo my jam. That Wade sacrifices everything he now believes to save Spidey from his self destruction I was glued to my phone reading these.

Dark Spidey was kinda hot though ngl - don't judge me.

Itsy bitsy was a freaky nightmare villain. Loved that for her. The overuse of the term "daddy" in increasingly wrong ways has scarred me (and prob Spidey) for life.

Basically what I'm saying is I'm shocked that there aren't like 20,000 fanfics already written about this story. There is so much potential as well, especially after issue 18 once Spidey realises what Wade did for him. There is a LOT to explore here:

Now obviously I haven't yet read on and I know there were different writers involved (including Robbie Thompson whose take on these characters I'm looking forward to reading for... reasons... 👀 so I'll see how it goes).

But yeah this is great. I know I'm sooooo late to the party but NWH reawakened a dormant love for Spiderman in me that was last active properly in 2004. I'm digging it okay?
