Been thinking about railway networks again...

You remember me telling you that New Yatyosh is based off a Minecraft world, right? This map (its lines and locations) are roughly based on that. Due to the difference in scale, obviously this can't be a regular city subway system, so instead it's a cross-country high-speed railway. Which may or may not be cheaper and more efficient than taking a plane, depending on where you are and where you're going.

I invented a train company for this map. I imagine it's responsible for many high-speed rails across Skai, but the Southwest subsidiary just covers New Yatyosh.

Anyway, just for fun, how bout I show you the subway map of the Pixelmon world I based this off?

One of my favourite parts of New Pixelmon is all the "villagers" were just pumpkins on wool blocks with very fragile mental states. If anything was slightly abnormal an entire town would lose it. Anything, including but not limited to:

The government house in Black County is no longer a literal ocean monument from Minecraft. Yes that was a thing. Yes it was plot relevant at some point. Yes I'm very happy it's gone.

no new pixelmon isn't impressive in the grand scheme of things but it was very impressive for a 12-year-old! Like damn girl you built all this? And there's lore? Alright let's sit down and you tell me all about it.

This map isn't entirely out of date, but it's not as detailed as I want it to be. I'm working on a new one, but it's an on-again-off-again sort of thing and I figure I should publish a map sooner rather than later. This won't be a full rundown on the countries' culture or geography, more just a list of locations, and for that, this map will work fine. Actually just so anyone reading this isn't completely lost: All the countries listed above are made up. RV = Rainbow Valley, NY = New Yatyosh 'Flickering Out' is a story I've hypothetically written, but practically is only half finished. The important part is 'Flickering Out' takes place in 2031. And if any of this reads like a Fandom wiki page... that's cause it's meant to, I'm doing this in lieu of creating a wiki for like, two people.

So before I post the stories I figure it would be a good idea to post a plot summary of Flickering Out cause most of the entries happen either during the end or after it. I'm kinda bad at summarising things though so wish me luck.

So it starts with all the tap water in New Yatyosh becoming contaminated with parasites that kill anyone who drinks it. So ah, about two thirds of the country is dead, which is only about 700 million people nbd. So in an effort to not have the entire country be decimated by microscopic worms, all the remaining teleporters in the country all called to evacuation centers to teleport anyone still alive out of the country. Also teleporters are people, by the way, not machines. Apparently that terminology is confusing to some people (cough cough, Matthew) Crap I'm losing the summary okay so this is where Sonwy meets Atusme- wait no I have to explain the steroid shit. Goddamnit I'm so sorry I suck at summarising plots.

So instead of trying again I'm just gonna continue and hope to salvage this mess.

Okay, deep breath.

As with all channeling sorcerers, teleporters have a limited amount of magic, the limit being way too little to teleport thousands of people across a continent over six hours. To combat this, they're injected with an experimental steroid that extends how long their magic lasts.

No, no, none of this is relevant. The more I go into detail the more detail I need. And the more detail I give the more confused I'm sure I'm going to make you.

Okay, look. Water is poisoned. Teleporters gotta teleport. Sonwy meets Atsume. Sonwy witnesses a kid die to the water. Sonwy begins experiencing nausea, anxiety, and mild hallucinations, somewhat as side effects of the steroid they're being given, but also because he's just kinda a bit fucked in the head anyway (you'll see what I mean later). All this culminates in Sonwy passing out from exhaustion on Day 6. On Day 7 Durkuat, a cursed ancient Tiansei, appears from a portal above the evacuation center, and subsequently destroys the entire state of Tamie, then kills everyone in the evacuation center, except Sonwy and Atsume. They both manage to escape.

If I were smart, I'd delete the above and just leave the last paragraph. Buuuuut I won't cause... I dunno, maybe you'll find it interesting. Anyway, next post will be a journal entry, I promise. I'm gonna try and keep them all in rough chronological order so the first one will be detailing Day 7.
