actually there's a huge difference between queerbaiting/"Hey guys look how gay these two are haha they're definitely gonna end up together, give us views uwu oh- never mind oops they're going to superhell" and "Hey it's 2004-2012 and there's no way we can get away with having our protags/main couple be two gay men but we really want to show these two are soulmates so we'll do it through subtext and underlying messages and by literally telling you over and over again their relationship is the most stable and important in the entire show, and the ending will imply they lived and died together", and it's insane that some of yall don't see how these two are not the same fucking thing.

Chloe and Chaz

My favourite queer couple from my favourite "comedy" show. Wow, so well-written and inclusive <3 THANKS, THE NEW NORM!!!!1! AND THANKS ELON MUSK!!!!!!!2!

Also, also, it's so fucking funny that people keep calling them "Non-Binary Chaz", like that's their full name now. Finally, the positive rep I've been looking for. I should change mine to match 💀

Oh man! I haven't posted much on my Tumblr in SOOO long! I've been drawing a lot lately and so I want to share because I think I've gotten so much better! I just watched Fallout show and wanted to try a sort of pop art style! So here's my three favorite characters 🥰

If you told me "The New Norm" was made by leftists/socialists who were parodying the stereotypical hyper-conservative Right, I'd believe you.

Literally the most annoying character in the show is the main one- fat, old, American white male who bitterly complains that "nothing is the way it used to be."

The nonbinary character- supposed to be indicating "wokeness" with their dyed hair, constantly wearing a face mask and being openly pro-trans healthcare who uses they/them pronouns is probably the MOST tolerant, surprisingly. The creators try to frame it as them being the "annoying" one, despite the fact that every time a deregatory term is used against them they shrug it off and seem to be very understanding of differences in political views. They don't go around "policing everything" as the stereotype would suggest, they just. Exist?

And then the main male character would - who would've guessed - complain for MINUTES straight, monologuing without letting anyone get a word in about how "woke Left is ruining the country," basically.

.. while the aforementioned "woke" character kind of stands there confused, like "what the fuck are you on about. I literally just came in here and you don't even know my name and you're already complaining on principle. I don't know what I'm supposed to do to make you happy, honestly." They're supposed to be the hypervigilant "pronoun police" and such but they genuinely seem. Neutral, for the most part, even while insulted and referred to as "less-than" in various contexts.

All in all, the pilot flew over the intended Right audience and mainly actually caught the attention of leftist-socialist queers like myself. I almost want it to continue, genuinely to see how the nonbinary character develops. The caricature of "woke" [fursuits and "speaking in barks", pride pins, rainbow flags, etc] is so RIDICULOUSLY exaggerated it's genuinely hillarious in a fucked up way, because. Nobody in real life acts like that. Nobody. You're fighting air, brother! Those problems don't exist!

Redesigned some of The New Norm characters because THE WOKE TOLD ME TO

(These are the first things I thought of so please be nice to me)

Chaz: pretty obvious why, I made their clothes something an actual teenager/young adult would wear instead of the cult attire that they’ve got on for some reason?? Made the whole look a bit more cohesive and realistic, but also made sure it was still an outfit that an older person would probably disapprove of. I wanted to sort of lean into a more alternative look because of the hair without going all the way, so I gave them a few more piercings and kept the colour of their contacts as eyeliner instead. Also, enby pride socks and a bracelet.

Chloe: she didn’t actually need redesigning but after I did Chaz I realised how similar their new outfit is to what Chloe wears, so I changed her look up a bit. I gave her some jewellery and some more tame piercings because Norm strikes me as the type of parent(?) to not allow anything more dramatic. I also made the colours brighter. As a side note here, I actually quite like her original design, but how do they not say her name ONCE in the entire episode?? Isn’t she one of the main characters? I’m only calling her Chloe because that’s what I’ve seen others say, I have no idea if that’s her name or not.

Janice: I wanted to make her relationship to Chloe (who I assume is her daughter) a bit more obvious so their hair and eyes are the same colour now. I also wanted to try and steer away from her looking like the wife from family guy, so I changed her outfit up a bit more too. A skirt instead of shorts cause again, Norm seems like the type to dictate what you can and can’t wear. I like to think she looks more like an individual now, instead of your average animated wife character.

Billie: that was the ugliest cartoon dog I’ve ever seen. Why did they draw it like that. This was more of an artstyle change than anything. However, it’s also stated during the episode that it’s an emotional support dog, which I thought was an interesting thing to include because that means someone in the household needs an emotional support animal. I figure it might be Norm’s pet, as we can see that he has some anger issues, and I also figure any animal that has to be in Norm’s presence for an extended period of time would be pretty damn sad. Billie needs its own emotional support animal at this point.

Like...why is Chaz there??? I understand it's supposed to be the woke majority censoring it or whatever but...aren't liberals usually sex positive and don't mind talking about sex??? Aren't conservatives the ones that are more abt like..not being sex positive?? /genquestions idk really what I'm talking about but it seems weird to put the "woke" character censoring out things that if anything conservatives would agree with more yk??

At least the post they made abt Chaz saying to not dead name X by calling it Twitter, albeit very fucking stupid because I don't think a real non-cis person would try to make that argument since Twitter is an app, not a human with emotions, it at least makes since for a conservative to say that based on their skewed perspective yknow? I'm just..so confused
