How do they feel about dress-up? 🦸 (Pt. 2)
Featuring Bucky, Sam Wilson, Wanda Maximoff, Vision, Scott Lang, T'Challa, Spidey (aged-up), and Doctor Strange. Written from a bi woman's perspective. NSFW under the cut! ⚠️🔞
Bucky Barnes
Bucky’s got too much trauma. If you ever dared tell him that you find the Winter Soldier look hot, he’d feel quite honestly disgusted and betrayed. With some couples therapy, he might come to understand your position, assuming you make it abundantly clear that your feelings regarding the look are purely physical and no part of you is emotionally attached to the persona. He’d probably never feel like he could do the full roleplay, but he might be willing to grow his hair out and put on a little eyeliner for you now and again. What Bucky really would like is for you to appreciate him as he was. Profess to him that you love a man in uniform, tell him that you want him to pull the old sergeant garb out of the closet and fuck you like he just got home from the war. That’ll be a dream come true for him, and an exercise he’d be much more comfortable entertaining.
Sam Wilson
Sam would throw his head back and laugh if you told him you thought he looked hot in the Falcon garb. Add that you dig the wings, and he’d raise an eyebrow. What’s that? You think he looks hot in the Captain America suit too? He’s flattered. Truth be told, Sam would jump at the chance to fuck you in costume—either costume. He’ll even throw in some cheesy one-liners. No wings, though. What would you say to a little birdwatching to help you get in the mood beforehand? As in you sit on the roof with a pair of binoculars while he does majestic circles around you? That’s the best he can do where that’s concerned. Ask real nice.
Wanda Maximoff
Hey, this girl has a secret thing for Mexican wrestlers, she can hardly kinkshame you for this dress-up request. Plus red is the color of love, so it’s ready-made. Tonight, it won’t be Wanda who comes for you…it will be the Scarlet Witch!
Vision
Vision’s first reaction to you asking him to make love to you as, well, the Vision will be a thoughtful stare. You didn’t actually start dating until he’d made the habit of appearing before you in ostensibly human form. He’ll ask you if it’s more about your wanting to feel like you’re connecting with the real him, or more that you find his synthezoid look arousing. He won’t judge you for either—he’s only curious. A little bit of both, you say? Few things in this world can make an artificial lifeform smile so.
Scott Lang
Now, when you said you wanted him to wear the Ant-Man suit to bed, you didn’t have shrinking in mind, did you? Scott’ll fuck you with it on no problem, but he’s disabling the controls first. Better safe than sorry. He can’t really make fun of you for being into the suit, he honestly thinks he looks pretty good in it too. Now if Hank would just make you one…
King T’Challa
Be careful when you broach this one with T’Challa. The Black Panther is a sacred tradition, and he’ll be much more likely to see the humor in your request if he’s known you for a while. He’s going to think you’re kidding at first, and when you insist that you’re not, he’s going to poke fun. In the end, though, he’ll indulge you. He might even end up liking it more than you do.
Spider-Man (post-NWH)
“Sexy” is not the first word Peter thought anyone would use to describe his Spidey suit. “Is it because it makes my butt look good? I guess it does make my butt look good.” He’s down, don’t worry. Seeing as the mask helps dial down the sensory input from world around him, he might last longer with it on, so that’ll be a nice bonus. What’d be really nice for him is if you pulled it off at just the right moment…
Doctor Strange
Hoo boy, will you get a look from Stephen when you confess to him that you dig the mystic garb and want him to fuck you in it. He’s always been more of a take-all-his-clothes-off kinda guy, hence your having to make the request. When he asks you to clarify whether “the outfit” includes the Cloak of Levitation, you’ll tell him it doesn’t have to because you don’t want to risk him not dressing up at all. But guess what? He’ll do it anyway. And find it startlingly erotic. Next time, he wants you to be the one wearing Cloaky. Preferably with nothing underneath.

Short interview with Joe & Tobias from Rolling Stone l’Hebdo n°113
They've been listening to each other for years, but Joe Elliott (Def Leppard) and Tobias Forge (Ghost) only recently met to record a new collaborative version of the hit 'Spillways'. The connection was immediate. The two musicians show that despite the generation that separates them, their passion and talent are in tune.
Joe Elliott: The intro to "Spillways" reminded me of "Jane" by Jefferson Starship or "Hold The Line" by Toto. That's what I like! When I joined my band, I had the whole legacy of The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Who, who had the rock in them, but they never forgot the melody. "Spillways" is for me the perfect hybrid of what people expect from Ghost and what they don't.
Tobias Forge: I was partly formed with underground extreme metal, where the music is more atonal, loud, brutal and fast, that's why Ghost has this evil aura about it. But I also grew up with AOR. Ghost combines those two elements. I wanted Ghost to be like a 70's band trying to create music that was futuristic and scary at the same time. I love "Jane" by Jefferson Starship. I play it on the drums as part of my gig prep routine.
Joe Elliott: I remember when I discovered this song. In the UK, as a young adult, we didn't have rock on the radio, apart from a show on Friday nights between 10pm and midnight when no one was listening, and on Sunday afternoons when everyone was away at the football match. "Jane" made the top 40, not many rock songs have had that. As well as being a great single, "Jane" is an exemplary vocal performance!
Tobias Forge: I never saw myself as a singer, I became one by force of circumstance...
Joe Elliott: Me too!
Tobias Forge: Of course, I love punk and other less vocally demanding music, but one of the things that makes AOR stand out from the crowd is the incredible talent of the singers, whether it's bands like Journey, Foreigner, Kansas...
Joe Elliott: It turns out that my favourite singers aren't really singers, but they get their talent from their interpretation of the lyrics. Steve Walsh from Kansas could sing the phone book, but my favorites are the ones that make my hair stand on end, like lan Hunter, Joe Strummer, Michael Monroe... These guys may be screamers, but they know how to interpret the lyrics. When "School's Out" came out, people wondered if Alice Cooper was singing or barking. When asked what I wanted to do, I said I wanted to be somewhere between Phil Mogg, Bon Scott, Phil Lynott and Gary Holton, with influences from Alice Cooper and Johnny Rotten. We can't all be Freddie Mercury. When I listen to myself on the album On Through The Night (1980), I hear a guy drowning. He does his best, but he doesn't have it all together. Mutt Lange later helped me to find my voice, and from then on I was on my way, it just took me longer than most singers. But you Tobias, you can sing! To hell with humility!
Tobias Forge: I think half the work comes from being comfortable with your voice. I've learned to love working with it. My "hit radar" doesn't always work, sometimes there's that magic moment when a song screams that it's going to be a hit. This was the case with "Spillways" or "Square Hammer". But "Cirice" wasn't originally intended to be a hit, I wanted to make it more progressive. When I played it to my daughter, she said it was her favourite. That's how the song was redesigned as a single, which got us a Grammy! Success is very hard to determine when you're writing, it's the audience that decides. On the other hand, I couldn't understand why "Mary On A Cross" didn't do so well. But in the end, it just took it a little longer.
Joe Elliott: We all say to each other in Def Leppard, "In a parallel world, this song would be a hit". It turns out that nowadays, hits don't happen the way they did in our time. It used to be that you'd make a single, it'd get picked up, played on the radio, and then you'd make a video for it and it'd be on MTV. Everything has changed since then. It just so happens that the Bank Of Dave movie has completely resurrected our song "Kick". When we did that song, we knew it was going to be the first single from Diamond Star Halos. We felt the same way about "Fire It Up" (on the same album) and "This Guitar". We've never questioned our songwriting skills, which get better with time. Some of our big hits still leave us confused! (laughs) As Tobias said, we play some of our songs to our kids and if they say "play that one again", we're onto something. They know better because they have the heart, they don't calculate anything.
Tobias Forge: That's what I say to people who tell me they can't write a song. It doesn't matter, it's what you feel that counts. The Ramones wrote some very direct songs, but a lot of them weren't that successful. While ABBA wrote some pretty technical songs, a lot of them are pretty hard to play. They made their songs accessible, especially with the vocal melodies. A lot of people in pop say "don't make it too complicated". Yes, do make it complicated if the song demands it! You have to follow your instincts.
Joe Elliott: We musicians are a special breed. As soon as we started talking it was like we'd known each other for ten years. I also hope that one day we can sit down with our guitars and a bottle of wine and see what comes out.

Female Character-Centric Masterlist 2
part one
5 Times MJ Made a Friend (+1 Time She Wanted More) (ao3) - juurensha mj/peter G, 3k
Summary: It’s hard moving to a new school, but maybe hanging out with a bunch of nerds is exactly what MJ needs. Also, she tells Spiderman to call her MJ because really, who does Peter think he’s kidding?
A glimpse from future (ao3) - Kanelore N/R, 20k
Summary: Peggy Carter has seen a lot of unusual things in Stark mansion, specially when walking into Howard’s lab after hearing a sound of explosion, but she never expected this “Howard, why am I seeing a kid in your lab?”
You know all those fics where Howard comes to the future? Well basically in this, kid Tony goes back in time where Howard is much better.
A Head Full of Doubt/A Road Full of Promise (ao3) - sergeant_angel G, 210k
Summary: There are a lot of stories that don’t quite fit into Riptide (or, Kate’s story isn’t the only one that’s going to be told)
A Morbid Taste for Ice (ao3) - sitehound darcy/loki M, 198k
Summary: Darcy Lewis likes to think of herself as terribly adaptable, with an “If life gives you lemons, zap life with a Taser and demand chocolate” sort of attitude. And life, lately, has had a perverse sense of humor, first trapping her in a state of perpetual Science Assistant in the armpit of New Mexico known as Puente Antiguo; and then forcing her to live in a trailer home with Jane Foster, Jane’s guy, Thor, and his brother, Loki, master of mischief and wide-scale urban renewal.
But Darcy’s not about to let her situation get her down. She’s managed to get pretty good at her job, and with liberal application of a credit card, made her rustic house a home. And wielding a Taser and armored by her snarky wit, she’s more than a match for the God of Mischief.
Stumbling face-first over the frozen body of a friend on the front porch, however, is more than even mostly unflappable Darcy can handle. The obvious suspect is her mentally unstable roommate. But despite all his other faults, Darcy is certain Loki isn’t the perpetrator. And not just because she’s starting for fall for him….
an exchange of voices in repetition (ao3) - sandyk pepper/tony M, 4k
Summary: Pepper hadn’t really thought about the difficulties of planning a wedding around all the rest of her life.
Beckoning from Beyond the Mirror (ao3) - ParanoidInPink G, 29k
Summary: It’s Halloween night. Cassie Lang is getting ready for the evening when she’s met with an apparition and tragedy strikes. She is the first of many to fall into a fatal, comatose-like state that doctors can’t explain. Scott is desperate and turns to the only man he knows who could possibly cure the supernatural scourge. Little did he know of the adversary he’d soon have to face.
Bygone (ao3) - inkbert darcy/steve N/R, 88k
Summary: While Jane and Thor search the universe in order to find Darcy after a lab accident, Darcy wakes up still on Earth, just decades in the past. Darcy continues to travel through time, skipping ahead years at a time, and staying for as little as a few months or for as long as a year. She has a rock-solid friendship with Rebecca Barnes, and Howard Stark on Fridays at six to see her through.
Cassie & Peter Being Buds (ao3) - whumphoarder G, 8k
Summary: The adventures of Peter babysitting 10-year-old Cassie Lang.
come over (we don’t need no reason why) (ao3) - anyorangeslices scott/hope E, 39k

Hope matches with Scott on Tinder. They try - and fail - to keep things casual.
darkness will be rewritten (ao3) - princessironspider natasha/tony N/R, 104k
Summary: Peter is Tony’s biological child.
Natasha Romanoff has been married to Tony Stark secretly for years.
What would the movies be like if this were the case?
Finding Family (ao3) - aparticularbandit wanda/vision M, 374k
Summary: When America begins universe-hopping again to try and find her moms, she realizes that’s too much scope for her. She looks for smaller scope, and instead she finds Wanda.
five times Laura Barton opened her door (and one time a door was opened for her) (ao3) - twistedingenue clint/laura G, 7k
Summary: She’s been making her life here, where things are quiet and uncomplicated, and uprooting herself would — well, there are things she’d rather not do and risks she’d rather not take anymore.
Forged in Sparks (ao3) - SailorChibi T, 8k
Summary: Being kidnapped by Hydra wouldn’t be anyone’s idea of fun, and that included Shuri. She had no idea what Hydra wanted with her - or with the scruffy, skinny man in the cell right next to her.
Gamora, You’re a Fine Girl (ao3) - Meraki_fics gamora/peter G, 4k
Summary: Gamora has never been good at emotions, being raised by a genocidal maniac does that to a person. Emotions are a weakness, at least that’s how Thanos raised his borrowed children. Emotions were not something she ever spent time on or paid any attention to. However, in her new home with her new family, emotions were something to be aware of.
Hold Back The River (ao3) - GoddessOfDestruction hank/janet G, 7k
Summary: Seven snippets, seven years of Hope’s life and her relation with Hank (and Janet) from her birth to the day Hope learned about her mother’s alleged death.

One Tuesday Morning in Wakanda (ao3) - hantumomo G, 4k

Angst, a not-so-secret admirer, a gender non-conforming AI, and minor goaty shenanigans add to the fun.
She’s With Us (fanfiction.net) - Annabelle536 T, 45k
Summary: In hindsight Wanda should’ve known she wasn’t joining a team…she was joining a family. And each member made her feel like she was part of it, in their own little way. Complete. Now with an epilogue!

Good Omens 2: Fastforward Rewatch
Thoughts (positive, negative, and general analysis) below the cut, this one is long and FULL OF SPOILERS.
You have been warned.
2:1
The opening was perfect. Loved the scene in Heaven, loved the mystery with Gabriel, and Shax's introduction.
Why was Crowley living in his car?
Hell is much less intimidating than in Season 1.
Why are the demons on half-rations? Is this just a general "Hell Sucks" thing? Or does this tie into the supposed manpower issues later on and if so, why is Hell having manpower issues?
Where is Hastur? I miss him (and Ligur, even though I know he's dead).
They definitely needed to make a bigger deal about the Book of Life and Aziraphale's possible erasure from existence. This kind of got glossed over at the end of the episode and therefore wasn't as much of an existential threat to both Aziraphale and Crowley as it should have been and felt. It mostly just seemed like an afterthought.
This was overall, the best episode of the season.
2:2
"I knew the angel you were." I don't love the fact Aziraphale remembers Crowley's angelic form. Like, I get how that could fit in with later events, Aziraphale just not wanting to be seen associating with the newly-donned Crowley. I can buy that they worked together as shown in the first episode. But when Crowley fell, I would like to believe his identity changed and Aziraphale would no longer be able to recognize him, leading us into the opening Eden scene from the first season.
Some of the visuals in the Job scenes were a little wonky.
Gods, I love when David Tennant gets menacing.
Heaven and its representatives didn't feel quite as threatening this time around, which really detracted from the tension around the whole hiding Gabriel issue.
Okay, so Crowley doesn't destroy the goats...this is fine (I guess). And yes, mostly in character for Crowley. But it also seemed to be pushing the "I'm really just good guy" Crowley line a little too hard? I mean, he is a demon. He got demonic moments in Season 1 (see below).
ON THE OTHER HAND, the scene with Aziraphale and the ox meat was a little disturbing, the way Aziraphale desperately pounded that stuff down after Crowley essentially tempted him into it. Apple analogies, anyone? The musical cues and Crowley's look just seemed to spell out that this was some kind of corruption, which was very cool.
The angels can't be that dumb with the restoration of Job's kids? Right? I mean, the theme of the first season was that a disconnected bureaucracy didn't keep tabs or care, not that their highest representatives would come down and be so easily boondoggled.
Oh my gods, Hamm's wig hahahahah.
Loved the scene where Aziraphale thinks he's going to hell.
2.3
There's an interesting conceit here with both Crowley and Aziraphale trying to manipulate humans into falling in love, which is kind of analogous to the situation with their respective deities trying to manipulate humans for their own causes (like Job, for instance).
LOVED LOVED LOVED David Tennant getting to rip with the thick Scottish accent.
Aziraphale saying people get a choice in Edinburgh while not giving Nina and Maggie a choice is an interesting contradiction.
I just need to note that Aziraphale was listening to Danse Macabre in the Bentley (a piece which, appropriately for this setting, begins with a series of tritones in the solo violin, aka the "Devil's Interval." Take from that what you will).
The Edinburgh scenes were very effective, overall, but a) Aziraphale's diary is mentioned, like, 1.2 times and never brought up again b) probably needed some cutting just to make it tighter and c) Aziraphale seemed a little too naive in this sequence?
Also, Crowley having a Scott Lang set of moments was funny but also...a choice.
This all being said, the Edinburgh sequence ending in the manner it did (Crowley abruptly getting dragged back to Headquarters) leads you to believe Crowley got the shit tortured out of him in hell after that whole stunt.
2.4
Conversation between Shax and Aziraphale in the car was perfect.
But again, the whole risk of Aziraphale's destruction due to his hiding Gabriel was still wildly underdeveloped and didn't feel real or threateningly imminent.
Unpopular opinion. The whole set of post-bomb magic scenes weren't entirely necessary.
I suppose if Crowley had missed with his shot, Aziraphale would have to explain his discorporation to Heaven which could get tricky if they started to ask more questions about how that came to be. But it wasn't going to kill Aziraphale. Would have been messy, though.
This being said, the magic stuff was very entertaining and fleshed out more of the Aziraphale-Crowley relationship, and I loved the whole photo-blackmail angle and felt that maybe it was resolved a little too quickly?
Nazi zombies? I mean, okay. I personally felt it would have been better to leave them buried in the ruins of the church and be done with them.
Sometimes too much information detracts from the original material. The first 1941 scene we got in Season 1 was perfect. I almost prefer we would have left that as is and done the magic bit in another era.
2.5
The whole 10,000 (700) demon march on the bookshop was just kind of...weird? Like, I get Beezlebub authorizing it to find Gabriel but then they attack the bookshop and it all got a little muddled.
The demon designs/makeup/costumes were so much better in Season 1, as was the hell set.
Gathering the shopkeepers for the meeting felt like filler material.
The Crowley/Gabriel scene was A+, especially when Crowley ordered Gabriel to jump out the window.
Crowley keeps telling people he's not nice but always acting nice. How much leeway does he get as a demon?
IT WAS WEIRD AND KINDA CREEPY that Aziraphale pulled a Wanda Maximoff and semi-mind controlled everyone into his little utopian Jane Austen fantasy.
"Surrender the Angle" hahahhahahahaahhaha
The demon attack sequence was not my favorite.
2.6
Crowley's Heavenly costume change was awesome.
I'm sorry but I can't deal with the Beezlebub/Gabriel pairing, it's just so RANDOM to me.
And this relates to the way I think one of the larger issues with this season is that the plot hinges on Gabriel just...suddenly not being a massive dick anymore and all that development happening offscreen. I mean, mazel tov to ineffable bureaucracy shippers and all (and I do like the notion of this season being smaller in scope and not depending on yet another end-of-world situation) but it just felt so...undeserved?
Also, the line, "Beezlebub is my Heaven" is just...*shivers* Come on, guys.
Very glad Nina and Maggie didn't end up magically together. I also felt their "heart-to-heart" with Crowley was extremely forced and very fanfiction-y.
The Metatron manipulation here was Class A. He obviously despises Crowley and was playing Aziraphale like a damn lyre.
I dearly dearly hope all the "spiked coffee theories" are false, because it would take away from all the fantastic character development and regression moments that center around Aziraphale's decision. It makes sense, what Aziraphale did. But Metatron is out here playing 5d chess while everyone else is playing checkers.
Tempting Aziraphale with redeeming crowley to angel status? So Aziraphale can "fix" him and stand him up as another toy character just like he did with his Austen reenactment? oh boi. Yeah, I'd be pissed if I were Crowley. Forget the trauma of his fall and not wanting to go back to Heaven (which kind of got sidelined this season), but the fact that your best friend and possible romantic interest of several-thousand years is basically saying "you're not enough as you are" by implying Crowley would be "better" as an angel (although i know that's not necessarily Aziraphale's intention)? That's a yikes.
David Tennant is so, so good at being nervous and heartbroken here. Great speech.
"Nothing lasts forever, Crowley." OUCH.
So, I may get flamed for this, but I feel like the kiss may have been a little forced. I get the romance angle, and I think that was well-deserved at this point, but I'm not sure how I feel about Crowley just going in for the kill there like that. Unpopular opinion, I realize, but between that and the stereotypical rising string soundtrack, it was a little much.
Final Overall Thoughts
This season felt like it had maybe 3ish episodes of material that got stretched into 6.
Hell was nowhere near as frightening/gross/built out as it was in Season 1. And the costuming/makeup was much more drab in comparison to the first Season.
Crowley, I hate to say, got a little "woobified" in this Season. Remember, in Season 1 he delivers the Antichrist, does actual demonic work, causes a bunch of paintball players to think they're shooting real guns for a solid twenty minutes, and literally annihilates another demon with holy water. I realize escaping Hell may have softened him a bit, but I missed some of his more present edge from Season 1.
Along these lines, Aziraphale also felt more naive than he was in Season 1. He's persnickety and idealistic, but not necessarily wide-eyed.
Maggie and Nina had great chemistry. I kind of wish they had leaned into the whole "Crowley and Aziraphale manipulation of their lives" angle a little more, as it's a great thematic parallel with the duo's complaints about the agents of Heaven and Hell.
The angels and demons conveniently became much less competent for plot purposes. Kind of lowers the stakes when your opponents can't seem to plan all that well? Saraqael was the only one who seemed like they had their shit together this time around.
Also, the infighting as to the vacant Archangel position really could have been expanded upon, as that would have been a very interesting plot thread to follow, especially as it relates to Shax and Furfur's little administrative battle downstairs (which would bring back the theme of bureaucratic nonsense from Season 1).
Also, Shax went from a legitimate, compelling threat and character to kind of petering out by Episode 6. That was disappointing. her early scenes were fantastic and I get the feeling they didn't know quite know what to do with her character.
This all being said, there were a lot of great character moments and themes and the payoff with Aziraphale's decision to go back to Heaven was perfect. I'm very curious where this goes in Season 3, if we get a Season 3 (I'm assuming it will end in South Downs, but how we get there will be another...ah ha ha...story).
Overall, I'd give this season a 6.5/10 or 7/10.

Okay, so I'm very new to this blog and don't know your story about Ant-Man. AKA, how did you "find him" (ex: by following MCU movies or randomly hearing the movie from somewhere else)? What made you like him so much? Why is he important to you? Do you relate in many ways? Tell me everything. (That sounds so pushy lmao but I really am curious!)
😂 You’re fine, Anon. You’re fine I promise. First of all, welcome to my mess of a blog! Glad you’re here. I think you’re actually the first person in a long time if not ever to ask me these questions, but I’m very happy to share.
So I’ve been a big fan of Marvel ever since the first Iron Man came out. Once I watched that one, well I was hooked. Little did I know just how vast the MCU would become and how deeply involved I would be over time.
But honestly, Ant-Man slipped under my radar until I went to watch Civil War in theaters. Scott Lang made his debut into my life, and I was like *points at screen* “That’s Paul Rudd since when was he in the MCU?” I mean, I’m a fan of his, but not enough to follow everything he’s in. I watched the fight scene and watched what Scott could do. And I was intrigued.
But what really got me if I’m being honest was this.
Like this is legit how I would react too. I’d be nervous and excited and I’d get my words mixed up which happens often and I’d just be so star struck and like “Wow this is awesome!” That was so relatable that I was like “I wanna know who this guy is.”
As soon as I got home, I rented Ant-Man on my laptop, and it was hook line and sinker. I didn’t have a chance.
Scott is more like the Everyman. He’s just a regular guy trying to do what’s right, and he makes mistakes and tries to fix them and this whole superhero gig just kinda fell into his lap. He’s intelligent and kind and funny and loyal and protective over his family, especially his daughter. He doesn’t take himself seriously, but he’s such a good asset to any group and often overlooked. Much like how I overlooked him until Civil War. But I’ve looked for him ever since.
And honestly, I just see a lot of me in him. I’ve had Marvel fans I’m friends with confirm it lol. We played a game once of who are you in the MCU where the closest match in personality wins. I said I was Scott Lang, and I won the game. I have other favorites, sure, but, you know, no one else just resonates with me more. In this fandom or in any other I’m in. It’s hard to explain, but I’ve never fit more with a character before, and it’s really nice for me to have Scott.
So there’s the story. I don’t know if that’s what you were looking for or hoping for, but yeah, there it is. In my head, Scott and I are like 🤞🏻 and thick as thieves, I mean burglars lol.

Scott Lang + rainy =
》For the first time in a bit the reader is gendered. Kinda weird. Anyways the reader is a man.
As a man known best for being arrested he was very good at entertaining himself, and others. In prison he was a lot more inventive due to the lack of any resources. Sure there were cards and chess but it was asinine trying to get something like a pencil for more than two minutes. So he made stupid games. Like 'Never sentence said' a game where you tried to make up a sentence that had never been said before, rules varied. Or 'Never have I ever' a game usually played by either drunk people or teenagers, sometimes drunk teenagers, but it was a good way to get to know the people on the block.
"Never have I ever stolen a car." Scott was still on house arrest. More accurately, saved the world again in a very illegal way. And as luck would have it you were in town and your plane was cancelled by a stupid amount of rain.
"Scott, that's cheating." He was just being cheeky, you did steal that car together that one time. In your guy's defense you were at a frat party drunk and didn't want to crash your car. So you drove someone else's. Genius.
"Okay fine, never have I ever smoked."
"You haven't smoked, even in jail?"
"No. Made me very popular." He did think about it, when the nights got rough and Louis wasn't talking, but he couldn't. He didn't want the lingering smell to trap him. "Cigarettes being money was great."
"Damn, lucky you," you nodded, genuinely impressed. Then you sat back and grabbed your beer, sipping in thought. "Guess you win that one. Never have I ever… been to a nude beach."
Scott laughed at that one. "Ah man, it's sucks. Don't do it."
"Really?!" All of a sudden you couldn't stop thinking about him being naked. In the sun. Wet. Tanning.
He took a huge swig of his bottle with a dramatic exhale. "Yeah. Never have I ever told a secret on accident."
"So you have on purpose."
"Well, how else are you going to confide in someone?"
Maybe it was the beer but you were feeling a bit more than usual. The idea of secrets and his openness with you was something you wanted to know in full. You'd only recently re-entered his life so where you stood was still a bit unclear. It had been almost a year and everything was like nothing changed even though everything did. And maybe it was because you were older but the thought of spilling your secret was on the table. "Never have I ever told someone I like men."
There. You said it.
It wasn't as silent as you thought it would be. Your heart was in your ears like that's where they were supposed to be, as fast and hard as the pounding rain. The rain was trapping you.
But the next noise was Scott taking a drink, a rather large one at that. He wiped his face then looked confused. "Wait, you've told no one?" You were still scared, even though he gave you no reason to be. So you just nodded. "But- you know what, I'm gonna play twenty questions with that later. Never have I- why haven't you told me?" His tone wasn't quite offended, he was a bit more hurt.
"I don't know. I didn't want you to think I was weird."
"Did you realize recently?"
"No, I've known. I've known for a long time." You finally got brave enough to look at him. Scott was watching his hands holding his beer with a softness he gave when nothing was happening but he was loving that nothing.
"I'm the only person who knows?" he asked. The question was more of a very pleased statement.
"You're the only person who needs to know." Maybe it was the beer, maybe it was the fact that you were older, maybe it was because the rain was beating down like it was forcing you to action. "You're the only reason it matters."
This was something you always fantasized about. It always had different reaction and ending, both good and bad. None of that amounted to the real thing. Scott leaned in gently and pulled you halfway just as gently. The briefest moment passed before your lips touched, not hesitancy but asking permission. The stars didn't line and fireworks didn't go off but it was more. It was reality, no matter how much you thought it was fantasy.
One, two, four, laying back on the couch, six, it stayed at seven because your lips didn't part. You had never been so thankful that the rain fucked you over. Who really cared about cancelled plane tickets?

((Hey, Anon! Sorry it took so long, but I had to really think about this one.
((I decided if the man would ever show up after all this time was for one of two reasons: one, he was in a much better place and wanted to make amends or two, he needed some help because his temper and drinking problem got him in trouble and decided maybe approaching his Avenger son would be worth the risk. I went with the first option this time. The second may be written eventually, but we’ll see.
((See below for the whole encounter. Hope it’s what you were hoping for or better.))
The man at Scott’s door looked almost unrecognizable, but he would recognize the man anywhere.
Those were his own eyes looking back at him, and that’s the only genetic resemblance he inherited from the guy.
Charlie Lang. “Dad”.
The man who hit him at eleven years old, just for standing up for his momma against his father’s drunken temper. The man who haunted his childhood and forced his momma to take him and his sister as far away from Florida as possible. The man who messed up their lives so much and taught him how to be a good father by what not to do.
Scott stiffened at the sight of him, and he didn’t speak. He didn’t trust himself to.
Charlie looked at his boy in awe. Sure enough, there he was, the Avenger. The man who made something of himself and has become far more than Charlie ever could have imagined.
He was also a man who looked like he could beat him to a pulp. And maybe wanted to.
He couldn’t blame his son for looking at him like that. This was the first time in decades he had seen his son. The first time since Charlie…
Charlie cleared his throat and coughed. “Hello, Scott.”
“What are you doing here…”
Yes, well, Charlie had earned that kind of cold greeting. The tone was cold, but those eyes burned a hole in Charlie’s stomach. “I umm, I came to talk to you if that’s alright.”
“Why.”
Charlie knew this wasn’t going to be easy, but he was going to give it a shot. “To…to make amends.”
That doused the fire in those eyes for a brief moment. “Seriously?”
“Well,” he shrugged. “Better late than never, son.”
“Don’t call me son,” Scott practically growled, the fire burning in his eyes again. “You don’t have that right.”
“You’re still mine though.”
“Only in blood but in no other way. No way that matters.”
Ouch, but Charlie accepted it. Old Charlie would have lost his temper. New Charlie had to take a breath to remain calm. He nodded once, slowly. “Okay. Okay that’s fair. Umm, may I come in?”
“No.” Scott adamantly shook his head.
This was too sudden, too much. Having the man on his doorstep without warning after so many years felt like a violation, a sting that wouldn’t fade.
He was on the defensive, prepared to protect himself if necessary. Good thing Cassie was at a friend’s house right now, but he wished his mom or big sister or brother or anyone he could rely on was there.
If Hank was there, Scott felt pretty sure he would slug Charlie.
Scott felt like a scared little boy again, even though the man in front of him looked like half the man he used to be. And he hated how he felt right now. He was an Avenger, a superhero shrunk down to an emotionally small and fragile size.
“Can we talk at least? I want to apologize and see if we can make amends and then maybe…” Maybe see his granddaughter, he hoped.
Maybe nothing, Scott thought. Normally, he’s all about second chances, but this felt like one time where he couldn’t live up to that belief. “Say what you have to say already and then go.”
“...Alright,” Charlie took a breath before he began, “Scott, I am so sorry for ever laying a hand on you. I’m sorry for my behavior and my temper and my drinking. I’m sorry for the turmoil I caused for you and your mother and your sister. I’m sorry I never reached out and did this sooner. I’m sorry you grew up without me.”
I’m not, Scott thought, although a part of that didn’t feel true. It wasn’t the fact he grew up without Charlie, it was the fact he grew up without a good dad. “Okay.”
Charlie tilted his head some, hoping for a little more than that. “Oh. Is - is that all you have to say?”
“It’s all I trust myself to say right now.”
Charlie nodded once again. “I see…Umm well. I’m staying at the Fairmount, and I’ll be there for a week. If - if you want to talk further, I’ll be there. Okay?”
Scott shrugged noncommittally. “Okay I guess.”
“And umm,” he pulled a card out of his pocket and offered it to Scott. “Here’s my cell phone number too if you want to reach me that way.”
He held the card out for a very long awkward moment before Scott took it, looking more like if he took it, then the man would leave.
Charlie backed away slowly, hesitantly. He didn’t want it to end like this. He hoped for more, but maybe he was reaching for too much. He knew the reunion wouldn’t be a good one, but he hoped for a little better than this.
And he couldn’t bear to say goodbye, too afraid that would be final and permanent, so he settled with, “See you around, Scott.”
“Bye,” Scott muttered flatly.
Charlie finally left, and Scott closed the door harder than he meant to and locked the door before he slid against it down to the floor and curled up wanting to hide, his emotions finally breaking through and overtaking him. He shook and cried and felt very much like a scared, hurt little boy who wished his mom was there.

He’d managed to be able to distract himself on his phone while he waited, and thankfully nobody wanted to sit next to him at the bus stop with how he looked. It meant that he could sit as comfortably as he wanted. As much as was possible, anyway.
Finally the bus arrived, the squeak of its breaking being hell on Clint’s hearing aids. His were fairly high tech, but that sound was terrible no matter how much of a filter you tried to put over it. Wincing just slightly as he stood up, he made his way over to the small double doors and watched as they opened.
Climbing just the few steps that were required in order to board the bus proved to be hell on his ribs and knees, those having been injured plenty of times in the past, let alone what the latest mission had done. Every time something this severe happened, he promised himself that he was going to retire. Maybe get an easier job at least…but he never meant to keep that promise. Deep down, he knew that he’d be doing his job in some capacity until he was struck down. By a bad guy or otherwise. He was pretty accident prone, enough to make one wonder why he had the job to begin with. The short answer was; he could shoot a lot of people in a short span of time. With various weapons, but especially his bow. That, and he seemed to stay alive out of spite at times.
The archer had really been hoping that people would continue to avoid perceiving him. It wasn’t that he didn’t like attention, if he didn’t like it he wouldn’t joke so often, but usually the attention that he was offered while injured was either pity or immediate distrust.
As he looked at this woman turning to face him, he took a deep breath and readied himself for whichever of those two choices she would pick.
Oh fuck. She was Russian.
And he was already beaten to shit. He’d made her job easier probably, at least that was what he gathered from her remark and that smirk that she wore on her lips. Doing his best to remain collected while he ran through plans in his head, he tilted his head a bit as his brows furrowed and tried to buy himself some time.
“No, sorry. I think ya got the wrong guy. Name’s actually Scott Lang.” Lying with an alias was easy, he did it damn near every mission he was on in some capacity. It just so happened that Scott was the first guy he thought of, so he hoped that Ant Man didn’t happen to also have some Russian enemies. “I was in a car wreck, hence…bus.” He used his hand to gesture lazily and vaguely around them to the surrounding area of the vehicle.
”Sounds like you an’ him got some bad blood though maybe, so uh…good luck with your search. I’m just gonna…“ he held up his phone a bit in his hand for emphasis, ”get back t’ playin’ ‘Among Us’.“ He smiled with his lips pressed into a thin line and nodded a bit.
The entire time he had been talking, he’d been acting subtly. He turned on a signal on his phone that would monitor his location until he turned it off. He had also used his least sore leg to slowly and gradually inch his bow closer to him where it sat beneath the seat he was in. All while maintaining eye contact in an effort to distract her.
A man that Sasha recognized from her work in intel, stepped onto the bus. Clint Barton. Boy did he look like he had been through hell. Maybe even and back again. Sasha, lately especially, saw a lot of the players in the Shield/Hyrda game, come through her information that she brokered. Red Room, Shield, Hydra they were all the same to her. Their agents, super-beings and other-things-beings-and/or-eldritch horrors that they use in their fight for world domination and supremacy. Clint Barton, was one of these such people, in Sasha's eyes. Clint sat down. Sasha moved over and sat in the seat in front of him and turned around to face him. Sasha's arm leaned on the seat back in front of Clint. "In a little bit of rough shape, aren't you Hawkeye? Do you need a little help? Where is your Shield to help?" Sasha sat there, turned around, looking at Clint with a smug smirk on her face. The taunting in her voice really brought out the sound of her Russian accent. ....

Imagine figuring it out (Part 12)
Masterlist
-The next morning you were standing on the porch with your coffee, the steam wafting into the cool summer air as you sipped it slowly, the birds gently sounding as you watched the black vehicle slowly pull into the gravel driveway. Your arm crossed over your chest as you watched the car come to a halt, as you brought the mug down from your lips. As Steve exited the car, he couldn’t help but weakly smile at you, he knew that this was just as hard on you as it was Tony, cause unlike everyone else, he noticed it was an Air Force mug you were drinking out of.
“You’re late.” You called out as Natasha replied, “We never set a time?”
“Ahhh but see Steve here said morning, which for him means anywhere between 6am and 8am, it is 9:45am, meaning by his time, you are late.”
“Alright smart ass.” She sassed as she softly embraced you.
“Good to see you kid.” Steve whispered as you smiled, “You too, I ummm I tried to give him as much prep as possible, so hopefully he will be on his best behavior.”
“I hope so too, cause I need my strongest allies.” He whispered, as Tony stepped out of the sliding glass door, in his hands a pitcher of lemonade that you suspected Pepper and Morgan made. His eyes fixated on you as you turned to meet his eyes, a smile pulled on your lips as you tried letting him know you were doing the right thing.
“Welcome to casa Stark, and Strange, your stay is not extended so please, make this quick.” Tony sassed as you led the team towards the porch, and gave Tony a look, before he retorted, “Sorry, where are my manners, please take a seat, don’t get too comfortable.”
“So much for best behavior.” Natasha whispered to Steve as he chuckled, “it wouldn’t be Tony if he wasn’t at least acting like an ass.”
“I heard that, Rogers.” Tony retorted before you looked at Steve, and sank into one of the wicker chairs “So what was it that you wanted to discuss?”
“Time travel.” Scott piped up as you looked towards him, as Tony replied, “And you are?”
“He is the guy who tried destroying the suit from the inside when we were fighting in Berlin.” You replied, as he made the Ohhh face and replied, “And why would an insect be interested in time travel?”
“It’s more like quantum fluctuations than it is time travel. Listen, we all know how crazy it sounds, but sir after everything you have seen…”
“You are talking about quantum fluctuations, which can seriously mess with the Planck scale, which would then trigger the Deutsch Proposition, [Y/N] is that something we can agree on?”
“Yes Tony, we can, but nothing is impossible.”you replied, as Tony handed everyone cups of lemonade before replying, “You are right, but to put it bluntly the chances of not coming home are far higher than succeeding.”
“I came home though.” Scott stated as you looked at him, Tony’s voice taking over as he stated back, “No, you accidentally survived.”
“But I still…”
“The likelihood of that happening is a billion to one, face it Lang, your return was a fluck, and now because of that fluck you want to pull some time heist. Did any of you stop to think why this hasn’t been thought up before? It’s because it is a laughable situation, its a pipe dream, I mean just face it, Thanos is dead, the stones are destroyed and half the population is forever lost.”
“But we dreamed it.” You stated, “We have been trying to figure it out now for years, to save the half we lost, to save the people we lost. Tony, what if the key we can’t figure out is something they can help us with?”
“The stones are all in the past too, all we have to do is pinpoint exactly where they are in the timeline, and collect them.” Steve added
“Meaning we can snap our own fingers and undo the damage Thanos caused.” Natasha stated as Tony looked at you betrayed that you were siding with them.
“Okay, so let’s say this sucide mission works, and we snap our fingers and make it all worse than it is now? Then what is your plan?” Tony replied, the hurt clear in his voice as you looked at him, tears forming in your own eyes, as you whispered, “That’s a risk we have to take.”
“No we don’t. You of all people I thought would understand that Steve Rogers giddy optimism won’t solve all of the world’s problems. I mean there is no logical, tangible way that you or I can execute this time heist safely, we have been trying as you stated for years. And after all the simulations and tests we have run the results are still the same, which is that messing with the quantum fluctuations leads to our ultimate demise. While he spoke he took a seat across from you, his back to the lake, as he looked at you, his face reflecting back at him in the glass of the door as you leaned forward to look at him, your eyes pleading that you give it a shot.
“But if we strictly follow the rules of time travel, meaning no talking to our past selves, no betting on sporting events, no…”
“I’m just going to stop you right there, Scott was it? I mean are you seriously standing there telling me that the way you are planning to undo the snap and save the universe is based on the 1985 movie Back to the Future?”
“No.” Scott scoffed as Tony leaned back again, “Good, cause you had me a little worried there for a second, that your plan was even more horseshit than I originally thought. See the way Hollywood paints Quantum Physics isn’t how it really works at all, and to say…”
“Tony,” Natasha cut him off, his eyes shifting to her, “We have to take a stand.”
“We did take a stand, and yet here we are.” He replied
“Listen I know you have a lot on the line, you have a wife, a beautiful young daughter, a quiet life, and an irreplaceable woman who you get to call your best friend, but I lost someone extremely important to me, a lot of people did, including your irreplaceable best friend. Don’t you want to at least try to bring her back what she lost?” Scott replied, as Tony looked to you, but before he could respond, Morgan came darting out the door and into Tony’s lap, her arms wrapping around his neck as she whispered, “Momma sent me out here to save you, and [Y/N].”
“Good job, I’m saved, but I don’t think she needs saving.” He whispered back, “I wish you were coming here to ask me anything else, I am honestly happy to see all of you, if you want we can set the table for 7, Pepper makes a killer…”
“Tony,” Steve cut him off, as Morgan looked at you from over Tony’s shoulder, “I get it okay, and I am so happy that you have found peace, and been able to thrive with the help of Pepper, and [Y/N], but this is a second chance.”
“I have my second chance right here Cap,” Tony whispered, “I refuse to roll the dice on it. Like I said, Pepper makes a killer breakfast, and as long as you all agree to not talk about this, you are more than welcome to stay.”
-After several seconds you spoke, your voice slightly shaky as you blinked back tears, “I guess I will walk you to the car.”
“So that’s it?” Scott asked, as you rose, Steve’s eyes on you as you pushed to the front, and descended the stairs.
“I mean he is scared, can you blame him?” Nat replied as Scott retorted, “Yeah, but what are we gonna do now? I mean we need him to pull this off, we can’t just stop.”
“No, we aren’t going to stop, but we are going to do it right, meaning we need a really big brain.” Steve answered, before turning to the group, “You two wait in the car for a second, I need to talk to [Y/N] really quick… alone.”
-After the two got into the car, Steve took his hands and placed them on your arms, looking at you with kindness he whispered, “Thank you.”
“For what? I couldn’t make him agree even if I tried.” You whispered as he pulled you in, and wrapped his arms around you, your head buried in the dark leather of his jacket as you inhaled the musky cologne he wore.
“Come with us.” He replied, as he squeezed you, “We are going to go talk to Bruce, who I know will help us, with the two of you I am sure we can figure this out.”
“Steve…” you started with a sigh, everything in you wanted so badly to say no.
“I know I am asking a lot, I mean Tony is right, it’s…”
“I’m in.” You replied, before pulling back and adding, “Let’s get everyone back.”
-Tony watched you leave with Steve and the others from the bay window of the cabin, his heart breaking as Morgan called from the dining room, “Daddy, can I go get [Y/N], the food is getting cold.”
“I don’t think she is coming to breakfast, baby.” Tony called as he turned from the window with tears in his eyes, and gave Pepper a knowing look
-When you showed up to the diner you couldn’t help but smile at the oversized green scientist seated in the corner, “Now aren’t you a sight for sore eyes?”
“[Y/N]!” Bruce exclaimed before pulling you in for a crushing hug, before he greeted the other three. As they filed into the booth, you couldn’t help but notice the oversized bowls filled with breakfast foods. A waitress walked up to pass behind the chair as Bruce stated, “Hilary, can you go get my friends here some drinks, coffee will do.”
“So you come here often?” Scott asked as you sat beside him, Bruce smiled as he replied, “Every day, have some eggs guys, I can’t possibly eat all this myself.”
“So… am I the only one confused?” Scott asked as he looked to you, Nat, and Steve, all of you looking at Scott as Bruce piped up, “I mean these are very confusing times.”
“Yeah, that’s not what I am confused about.” Scott addressed as Bruce looked at him, knowing fully well what he was implying.
“I know, I know it is crazy that I am wearing shirts now.” Bruce joked as Scott kept trying to figure out how Bruce was the way he was.
“Like.. how…” he started but you were faster, “So how’s life been treating you Bruce?”
“Fantastic, I mean…” he started but was cut off by a small group of giggling girls, “Excuse me Mr. Hulk, but can we have a picture?”
“Of course!” Bruce exclaimed as he paused to pose with the girls, allowing you a moment to look at Scott, “Focus on why we are here.”
“I mean I can’t be the only…”
“Scott… focus.” You replied, as the girls wandered away
“Sorry about that, where were we?”
“Bruce,” Steve started, “We need your help, we want to go back in time, and collect the stones. We will use them to undo the snap, and bring everyone back, the problem is, we need someone with the brains to help. We have [Y/N], but we also need your help.”
“Why can’t Tony help, I mean they were always the iconic duo, you never saw one without the other. I mean she loved him so much she disappeared with him while we lost to Thanos, again.” Bruce’s tone completely changed, showing finally how he really felt about everything that had happened, your chest rising as you took a sharp inhale.
“He has too much to lose.” You answered, “Bruce we really need…”
“Now you guys know this is fully outside my area of expertise, I mean Tony is really…”
“Bruce, you are sitting here as a combination of the big guy and the mad scientist, I remember a time when that was outside your area of expertise as well.” Nat interrupted as he looked to her
“Fine, I’ll help.” Bruce agreed, “I’ll meet you back at the upstate compound when I finish my breakfast.”
“Thank you.” You replied, before sliding out of the booth and starting towards the car.
“What’s wrong with her?” Bruce asked as Steve sighed, “She left Tony behind to help us, so I suggest that you act a little kinder when you speak of her and Tony.”
-Back at the compound you were sitting in Steve’s apartment, your hair soaking wet as you stared at the wall, one of Sam’s old shirts hung over your frame like an oversized tent, as you looked over the tiny details of the wall.
“If you stare at that wall anymore, you are going to burn a hole in it.” Steve’s voice boomed from the bathroom as he turned the faucet off, a smile on your face as you called, “If only I could manifest the mystic arts to form lasers from my eyeballs, then I would be unstoppable.”
“I don’t know, you are already pretty remarkable, and besides, laser eyes are completely overrated.”
“Do you really think we can do it?” You asked, as Steve sank into the cushion besides you, your head turning from the wall to him, as he looked at you with a straight face, “I do.”
“I should have convinced Tony more… I should have…” your statement was cut off though by Iron Man playing loudly, and the familiar caller ID lit up the phone. Your hand wasted no time hitting the accept button, as you brought it to your ear, “Thank you for calling Taco Bell, how may I help you?”
“I figured it out.” Tony whispered
“What?”
“I figured out how to get the time heist to work… where are you?”
“The compound, why?”
“I’ll show you in the morning.” And with that he hung up, as a very confused Steve looked at you.
“Tony figured it out.” You whispered
-That morning you were waiting at the side door, your frame covered in a Stark Industry tshirt, and ripped jeans, your red and gold converse in your feet as you bounced up and down waiting. Inside the compound the four were testing the van, Scott was the test subject as you looked to the horizon for the car. As you saw the car peak over the hill, and heard the screeching of the brakes you couldn’t help but smile. As he stopped in front of you, he rolled down the window and pointed at you, “Never do that again.”
“Wouldn’t dream of it.” You smiled as he got out of the car, your arms engulfing him as he whispered, “Now, let’s go figure out how to be Christopher Lloyd, and Seth McFarlane.”
As you started to walk away he stopped, “Shit, I almost forgot.” As he rushed back to the trunk and pulled out Steve’s old shield.
“You stole Morgan’s sled?” You joked, “She is not gonna be happy this winter.”
“I’ll make her a better one.” Tony sassed, “Oh and I know that it’s not a competition, but she loves me 3000.”
“Well aren’t you glad she loves me to the moon and back, which when you do the math is 477,800. That’s far more than 3,000.” You teased as you led the way into the compound, and up to the lab that they had the van parked in.
-While Hulk and Rocket were getting Thor, you were in the kitchen with Tony discussing the GPSes, Taco Bell laid out before you both as he explained the mechanical aspects of the device. Steve and Nat watching from the doorway as you both interacted, “Listen, I hated that she left as much as everyone else,” Nat whispered, “But have you seen her this happy since Sam?”
“I haven’t, but I’m glad she is.” He smiled as he pushed off the frame, and grabbed a taco off the counter, an act that went unnoticed by both you and Tony.
-When you saw Thor, you ran up to him, and engulfed him in a hug, the smell of beer and Doritos filling your nose as you buried your head into his shoulder, “I’ve missed you.”
“And I have missed you too Lady [Y/N].” He whispered as you pulled back slightly, “Now, where are the tacos, Rabbit promised me Taco Bell.”
-Tony and you were in charge of building the base, and designing the time travel suits, your fingers moving against the holographic screen as you designed the test, which you were completely unaware that Clint would be conducting. When you saw him go to the base, you weakly smiled and put in a time period you knew he would want. Natasha looked over your shoulder and whispered, “What are you doing?”
“He said he didn’t want us to feed him false hope, so I’m going to show him some real hope.”
-When he returned he tossed you the baseball mitt, “It worked, your crazy idea actually worked.”
“I mean I don’t think Tony and I can take all the credit, we’ve had plenty of help from everyone else here, we just made the stuff that makes the plan work.” You answered, looking to Tony, as Bruce stated, “Now we just have to figure out where to go.”
-When you made a list of the stones, and where they could be, Steve looked to Thor originally to give a brief history of each, however after realizing he was asleep, he looked to you, “Care to enlighten us?”
“Of course, now like Tony said, all of us have almost met death because of these stones, each of them extremely powerful, and precious. The first one that we can easily pinpoint to a specific time period, where it will be easy to go undetected by our past selves is the reality stone. Back in 2013, Dr. Jane Foster got exposed to the reality stone, and ended up seeking treatment in Asgard, meaning our best bet of finding it is to send Sleeping Beauty over there to Asgard. The second one that will be slightly more tricky to obtain is the Space stone, and I only say this because while we know the exact time and location of the stone, you all were there, along with a certain god of mischief, who also has the Mind Stone as well. This is hidden within his scepter, meaning we have to find a way to get it away from him. We are going to have to be extremely careful to not be seen when getting either object, and under no circumstances can we create a branch in the timeline. As for the power stone, I believe it was stolen from the planet Morag by a human named Peter Quill, back in 2014. Meaning this one should be easier to obtain, cause all we have to do is steal it first. As for the time stone, there are two known locations for it, and seeing how none of us can break into Kamar-Taj, we are going to have to go to the Sanctuary. Now the hardest stone of all is the Soul stone, located on Volmir, and guarded by a creation of death. No one is quite sure how it works honestly, all we know for sure is Thanos took Nebula’s sister there, and only Thanos came back.”
“Well you certainly thought of everything, didn’t you? Rhodey replied as you looked at him, “Well seeing how this is something Tony and I have been trying to figure out for a while, it kinda came naturally.”
-After your lecture on the stones Steve stated, “So [Y/N] is going to go get the time stone.”
“Why her?” Rocket snapped as he looked to the small raccoon
“Because she is a wizard, and knows more about the stones than any of us do.” Thor snapped, proving that he had woken up at some point during your monologue, “Plus, she will get to see her…”
“Don’t.” You whispered, “Just… don’t.”
-While you were all planning on how to move forward with your plan, Natasha looked at you, and Tony while you were reading over some files you had found in regards to Loki’s scepter, “So your dad is a doctor right?”
“Neurosurgeon actually, but yes you can call him a doctor if you desire, why?” “Well, do you think that there is a way we could go to the current time, and have him give you the stone?” “Nat, if I asked that, he would look at me like I was on cocaine. However, if I am right, I believe the Sorceress Supreme should have it in New York, around the time of Loki’s initial attack.”
“Meaning in one day we possibly had 3 stones all in the same city, and had no idea.”
“Exactly, meaning this mission possibly just got a whole lot easier.” you smiled as you put the folder you had in your hand down, “Also I call Banner.”
“For what?”
“Coming to get the stone with me.” you chuckled as Tony and Steve looked at you slightly hurt, as you continued, “I mean, I miss the quality time we used to spend together, and I figured someone else might want to spend some time with our settled down, genius, playboy, billionaire, philanthropist.”
“I doubt it sweetheart.” Tony chuckled as Clint groaned, “If you weren’t both basically married to other people I would tell you to get a room.”
“Tony is the one who got married.” You replied as Thor added, “Yet you and the metal falcon were in denial of your unspoken marriage.”
-Without saying a word you slowly rose and left the room, as everyone looked after you confused.
“I don’t understand, was it something I said?” Thor questioned as Steve took a deep breath and replied, “Sam told her he was glad they never got married.”
-The next day you all made the appropriate teams, and decided who was going to get what. You and Bruce were clearly assigned to the time stone. Tony, Scott and Steve were assigned to retrieve the mind and space stone. Rocket, and Thor were going to Asgard to retrieve the reality stone, Nebula and Rhodey were going to retrieve the power stone, and Natasha and Clint were going to get the soul stone. You were going over the teams one more time, before you instructed, “If everyone is okay with this, go suit up. We will meet in the lab in one hour, to get this show on the road.
-While you were suiting up you heard a light knock on the door of Sam’s bedroom, you turned around and looked to see Natasha standing there, her body covered in her normal clothes, a black tank top, and jeans covered her frame, while her red and blonde hair was braided behind her head as she leaned against the frame. She looked at you with the suit unzipped as she chuckled, “Well, you always said you wanted to wear a black widow suit.”
“I have no idea how you wore something this skin tight, all the time.” She rolled her eyes at you as you zipped the top up.
“You get used to it, I promise.” She walked in and sat on the bed, as you looked it over in the mirror, “However if you want, thankfully after today, you will hopefully never have to wear an outfit like this again.”
“Well of course, seeing how I didn’t even wear something like this when we fought in Berlin.” you chuckled, as she leaned back on the bed, “Do you think this will work?”
“What do you mean?”
“Like, do you think this will get them back?”
“It has to Nat.” You replied as she smiled, “You know, I have missed that.”
“Missed what?”
“Your whimsical optimism, I have only met one other person who can match it, and he is far more annoying when he spreads it than you are.”
“Well I wouldn’t say Clint is extremely optimistic, but annoying I can understand.” You chuckled as she smiled.
“I’ve really missed this, like coffee dates clearly weren’t enough.” She sighed, “Like you have always been the rock of the group, even when you removed yourself from our home, you still found a way to make us not murder each other.”
“I mean we came close to it in Berlin.”
“You know what I mean.” She chuckled, as she sighed, “I just hope this isn’t all for nothing.”
“Keep talking like that, and I will throw a peanut butter sandwich at your head.”
-When you got to the platform, you were standing between Bruce and Tony, all eyes fixated on Steve, who stood across from you as he spoke, “Five years ago, we lost. All of us. We lost friends... We lost family... We lost a part of ourselves. Today, we have a chance to take it all back. You know your teams, you know your missions. Get the stones, get them back. One round trip each. No mistakes. No do-overs. Most of us are going somewhere we know. But it doesn't mean we should know what to expect. Be careful. Look out for each other. This is the fight of our lives. And we're gonna win.” His eyes linked with yours as he concluded, “Whatever it takes. Good luck.”
-When you all arrived in New York, you looked at Steve and Tony, the city around you familiar, yet clearly in distress as the alien army tore it to bits at the command of its mighty leader, Loki. As Steve spoke however you looked to Tony, “Be safe.”
“Same kid,” he whispered as you heard the crushing of a car and looked to see a younger, more wild Hulk jumping up and down on the metal, as Bruce let out a soft groan, “I can’t believe what I am seeing.”
“Believe it Big Guy.” You whispered as you extended a hand, “Here give me your shirt, and for the love of everything smash something.”
“I find it grotesque, but whatever it takes right?” He stated as he took off the tank top and started into the street towards the sanctuary, fake roars erupting into the air as Scott looked to you, “Wait, can’t you just open a gateway and…”
-You were already walking through the gateway as he said it, leaving him there to look at the others in disbelief, “Why didn’t she just open one for all of us?”
“Because, she didn’t want to.” Tony snapped back as they started uptown.
-By the time Bruce arrived downtown, you were sitting on the stairs of the entry, your eyes transfixed on the small orb of purplish blue light you had created, he stopped to look at the sadness on your face, and as he slowly approached he stated, “You opened a gateway, didn’t you?”
“Figured you wanted a second to get out some pent up aggression.” You smiled, before rising, and throwing his shirt to him
-He never asked why you looked sad, he didn’t have to.
-you opened a gateway and stepped right onto the roof, Bruce going first as you followed. By the time however that you closed the gateway you heard a voice that still haunted your memories, “I would be careful going that way. We just had the floors waxed.”
-She stood there in her robes, her eyes fixed on Bruce as you spoke, “Fuck, I knew we were always forgetting to do something, I told Wong that I always felt like something was missing on cleaning day.”
“[Y/N] Bardot, you aren’t supposed to be here?” She spoke as you lifted a small smile, however before you could reply Bruce spoke up, “I’m looking for Doctor Strange.”
“I’m afraid you are about five years too early.” The supreme spoke, yet your eyes were fixated on the Eye of Agamotto, which hung around her neck, “Dr. Stephen Strange is currently preforming surgery about twenty blocks away, while his daughter is supposed to be in Washington DC, discussing life after war with a new client of the VA center that she and her boyfriend work at, why are you…”
“We need the contents of the Eye of Agamotto.” You cut her off, as you produced a ball of energy, her eyes widened as you continued, “And to answer your question, [Y/N] Bardot is in DC, but [Y/N] Strange is right here, trying to fix Thanos’s actions.”
“Well then Miss Strange, you should know better than anyone that I can not give you, or your jolly green giant friend the Time Stone, since I am assuming you have already taken your oath.”
“We weren’t asking, and don’t call me Jolly Green Giant.” Bruce stated as he advanced toward the Sorcerer Supreme
“You don’t want to do this.” She chuckled as Bruce sighed, “You are right, but I need that stone, and we really don’t have the time to debate this…”
-He was cut off by her palm meeting his chest, a smile gracing your face as you remembered the day she did that to your father, and you. An Astral Projected form of human Bruce hovered behind the fallen physical body, as you hummed, “Ahhh I see that you have seen her favorite party trick.”
“It is not, that is when I make tequila pour into a man’s mouth using a gateway I’ve opened from across the room. However, I nominate we start this conversation over, don’t you agree Dr. Banner?”
“What did you…”
“Don’t worry, it is just an astral projection, we can easily put you back into your body.” You replied as he looked at you bewildered, “And you aren’t doing that why?”
“Because she knows I will do it again if necessary?” She smiled, as you looked towards him, “I wasn’t lying when I stated it was her favorite part trick.”
“Listen I don’t know who you are, but I am telling you…”
“I am sorry, but I can not help you Bruce, now I suggest…”
“We are begging you, please.” Bruce pleaded as you chuckled at the astral projection
“I am sorry Bruce, but I can not help you.” She snapped as Bruce looked at you defeated, however his look didn’t stop her from speaking, “If I were to give up the time stone to help your reality, then I am dooming my own.”
“With all due respect Ma’am, I would like to see the evidence to back that up.” Bruce demanded as you whispered, “Oh boy.”
“Well I am sure Miss Strange already explained this, but I will explain it to you again.” She snapped, her arm swinging in between her and Bruce as a thin orange line manifested where her arm swung. Your tongue held as she began to speak, “The Infinity Stones were designed to create what you mortals experience as the proper flow of time, if you remove one of the stones, and the flow of proper time splits into what we call a branch. Now while this branch may positively affect your reality, but this branch that gets created, the reality within that, is not very positive at all. In this branch, without the chief weapons against the darkness, or world will be overrun, and millions will…”
“Well seeing how half the population suffered because my father gave the time stone away, I think your millions will be okay.” You finally snapped, her eyes locked on to you as she whispered, “What did you just say?”
“Yeah, you are terrified to give us the stone, in fear for your world, and yet my father…” you took a deep, shaken breath, not knowing when you snapped how emotional you were going to get, “And yet my father gave Thanos the Time Stone willingly, to protect my best friend, who got stuck in space for 23 days, before coming back to an earth where we lost, because of Stephen Strange.”
“Oh no, it wasn’t to protect your friend, trust me.” Her eyes were wide with shock as you looked at her with a raised eyebrow, “If your father gave it away, it was for a greater purpose. I am sure you haven’t heard this yet, but you and your father are supposed to be the best of us, your power is one that can only be matched by the Scarlet Witch, and your father’s wit and heart is what makes him superior. Meaning if your father gave that stone to Thanos…”
“He saw something that we can’t.” You whispered as she opened the Eye of Agamotto, and sent Bruce back into his body laying on the roof still. She slowly handed the glowing emerald to you, your hand clasping around it as you whispered, “Thank you.”
“I’m counting on you Strange, we all are.”
-With that you opened a gateway, and looked to Bruce, “I figured I would let you take the shortcut this time.”
-Your hand clung to the time stone as you looked to Bruce, your mind racing as you waited for Scott, Steve and Tony, however Bruce snapped you from your thoughts, “What’s going through that brain of yours?”
“Why did he give it away?” You whispered, “What did he see?”
-Before Bruce could answer the trio returned to the meeting spot, your eyes meeting Tony’s as you whispered, “You’re doing the look.”
“What look?”
“The look you gave me and Morgan the day you didn’t finish making her the laser teddy bear that you had promised to finish that day.” You whispered
“I lost the Tesseract, meaning we have to go find it in the 1970’s.”
“We? I’m going…”
“No, you are going back with Scott and Bruce, while Steve and I go.”
“No way, I am not letting you…”
“Take the time stone, and the Scepter, and go home, I promise, we’ll be back.” Tony said before kissing your forehead, and going over to Steve, “The date is 04/07/1970, in Jersey.”
-When they left, you looked to Bruce and Scott, “You heard the man.”
-When you returned to the compound, you sat at the base, and refused to move until Tony and Steve got back, Rhodey was already there with the power stone. Your butt was set on the floor, legs folded criss cross as your head leaned on your hand, your eyes fixed on the base, as your other hand clung to time stone.
“I need the stone.” Bruce softly stated as you sat there in silence, your hand tightening around the stone was the only response he got.
“Let her be, she’ll give it to us, once he is safe back here.” Rhodey replied, clapping a hand on his arm, before guiding him back.
-When Thor and Rocket returned with the reality stone, Thor sank beside you, your head leaning over to his shoulder in silence as he whispered, “I spoke to mother.”
“Mmmmm.” You hummed, as he put a hand on your leg, “She seemed pleased to see me, and knew immediately I wasn’t from her timeline.”
“Your mother was wise beyond her years.”
“She also stated that I was not a total disappointment, just a failure, and no different than anyone else.”
“I spoke to the Sorcerer Supreme,” you answered, “She said that if my father gave up the stone, it was for a greater purpose.”
“Meaning…”
“My father knows something we don’t.” You whispered, as both Steve and Tony returned, your legs causing you to rise and race into Tony’s arms, as you tightened your grip around him.
“Told you I would be back.” He chuckled as you exhaled, “I know.”
-When Clint returned alone you were still with Tony, your head turning to him as you immediately whispered, “Clint… where’s Nat?”
He was silent as Steve looked at a teary eyed Clint, your voice shaking as he repeated your question, “Clint….where is she?”
-All he could do was shake his head, as he fell to his knees, the tears already pooling in your own eyes as Bruce punched the ground.
-You were the first to go to the lake, leaving the others at the platform. Tony wasn’t far behind. As you sat at the edge, discarded your shoes and dangled your feet into the cold water he spoke, “We did it.”
“But at what cost?” You replied as he sank onto the bench behind you
“Natasha won’t have wanted you to…”
“My father didn’t give up the stone because you were my best friend.” You whispered, your soft voice cutting him off as you looked over the lake, “You mentioned once, that he looked into the future, and saw 14 million different outcomes, but only one where we won.”
“He said we were the endgame.” Tony replied, “That’s all he said.”
“I wish…” You started, “I wish I knew what he saw.”
“There’s a reason he didn’t tell us.” Tony replied, as the others all approached, “Maybe he knew it wasn’t going to be the answer you or I wanted.”
“Or maybe he thought we would screw it up.” You chuckled as Steve sat next to you, his arm going around you as you leaned over, his lips meeting your temple as you closed your eyes, Clint wasn’t even able to look at you as Tony whispered, “Does anyone know if she had family?”
“Yeah, us.” Steve replied as you took a breath, Thor looked to Tony bewildered, “So what now?”
“What does that mean?” Tony defensively asked as Thor replied, “What are you doing asking a question like that? We can bring her back, when we return the Soul stone, we will…”
“We can’t get her back.” Clint answered, “What we did can’t be undone.”
“Bullshit, we are the Avengers. Now let’s get our shit together and figure out…”
“Thor.” You replied, your eyes turning from the lake to meet his, “She isn’t coming back.”
“I’m sorry,” he chuckled, “and I mean no disrespect by this but you all are mortals, and we are currently discussing space magic. Now the word seems very definitive, don’t you think?”
“And I am the keeper of the New York Sanctuary, and can produce blue orbs from my hands, meaning I understand a small fraction of space magic, and the infinity stones. And I am telling you,” as you paused a tear slowly rolled down your cheek, “There is no getting her back.”
“You are wrong, we can…”
“Thor, now listen I know this whole space thing is a bit above my pay grade and honestly I am glad it is, because you two look stressed all the time because of space bullshit, but I was there. I hate to admit it, she was my best friend, but what happened there can't be undone, and that’s just the way it is.” Clint’s voice was shaky as he looked to you, your own tears softly slipping as he sighed, “But I know one thing, she wouldn’t want us sitting here crying over her sacrifice, she would want us to undo the fucking snap, and bring everyone back.”
-After he was done speaking Bruce grabbed a bench and screamed in Anguish as he threw it over your head and into the bluish green water, the splash rippling to you and Steve as he groaned, “She isn’t coming back, so we have to make this whole shit show worth it. We just have to.”
“We will.” Steve spoke, as he looked back towards Bruce
“We should get back to the lab then, and start assembling the iron gauntlet.” You joked as Tony groaned, “Can we call it anything but that, like I know it is part of an Iron Man prototype, but really.”
“We’ll name it once we get them back.” Clint huffed, annoyed at the whole situation. When you went to say something to him though on the return to the lab, he ignored you.
“Just, give him some time, Kid.” Tony whispered as he slung an arm around you
-Once in the lab you, Bruce and Tony immediately started connecting the stones to the glove in a similar way to how Thanos had them in his own golden gauntlet. Once they were all in however, you were all staring at your work. Your gaze was interrupted however by Rocket screaming, “Boo!”
-As you all jumped and turned to look at the furry being he replied with a chuckle, and walked away, leaving you to mutter under your breath, “bătaie de cap.” (nuisance)
“You’re doing it again.” Tony chuckled, as you muttered an apology
-After extracting your assembled glove, Rocket was looking it over carefully, As you and Tony stood over him, Bruce was sitting at the table as Rocket spoke, “Alright so now that the glove is ready, we can ask the real question. Whose the guy that’s gonna snap their fingers to undo this nightmare?”
“I’ll do it.” Thor volunteered as Tony turned his head to him, “Excuse me?”
“Man of Iron this is fine.” Thor boomed over Tony’s protests as he looked to you, hoping you supported him, “Thor, just…. Wait a minute. We haven’t even begun to fathom the requirements of the ideal candidate. We can’t rush into this, we have one shot.”
“Oh well I’m sorry, I thought since we were all just sitting around that you had figured that out already using your mystic arts.”
“No Thor, you’re the one sitting around, eating a pop tart, I’m over here trying to assemble a fucking magical stone wheilding glove, that will undo Thanos’s genocide.” You snapped back, as Steve stood between you both, his hands on Thor’s shoulders pushing him away from you, as Tony grabbed your arm, “Settle down Tigger, it’s not worth fighting him.”
“Listen, I know you want to do this, so do I, but we need to discuss this, I know just looking at it isn’t going to bring them back, but it isn’t going to bring them back either if we screw this up.” Steve spoke as Thor looked at the glove again.
“Well since I am the strongest Avenger, this responsibility falls on me.” Thor answered as you rolled your eyes, “Don’t even give me that eye roll, please…. Just let me do this, let me do something worthy.”
“Thor, I get it buddy I really do, but that thing is channeling enough cosmic energy to light up the entire continent, and trust me, you are in no condition to take on that much energy.” Tony stated as Thor clung to Steve.
“And what do you think is coursing through my veins right now?”
“Cheese Whiz.” Rhodey answered
“Coke.” Rocket responded
“Doritos dust.” Clint replied
“Melted Raspberry Thorbert.” You answered
-Thor chuckled at the replies and then looked to Tony, “The answer is lighting.”
“Yeah.” Tony replied as he continued, “Lighting is coursing through my veins meaning…”
“Lighting isn’t the answer.” Bruce replied, “It’s gonna have to be me, don’t you remember what those stones did to Thanos, they almost killed him. None of you would be able to survive using them.”
“How do we know you will, Bruce?” Steve asked as Bruce walked over to the glove and looked at it, “We don’t. But the radiation coming off that thing is mostly gamma, which is funny.”
“Why?” You asked
“Cause it almost feels like I was made to do this.” Bruce sighed as you looked at Tony, knowing he was right.
“We don’t trade lives, Bruce.” Steve started as Bruce picked up the glove
“He’s right though, out of all of us, the Big Guy has the best chance of survival.” You answered as you sighed, “You sure you’re ready for this though?”
“Let’s do it.”
“Tony, tell me you have another glove, just in case we need first aid.” Steve asked as you looked at Bruce sympathetically.
“Of course, now remember we are bringing back everyone Thanos snapped away five years ago, we are just bringing them back to the present day. Under no circumstances can you change anything that happened in the last five years.” Tony instructed as he took a stand beside you
“Got it.” Bruce replied as everyone gathered around him, preparing for anything. As they did, you created a protective force field around Bruce, and looked to Tony, “We might want to activate Barnes Doors as well.”
“What is that?” Steve asked as you chuckled, “It was so if Bucky moved in, and Hydra somehow fucked with him, we could withhold him here until we figured out how to cure it, that way he wouldn’t hurt anyone.”
“Wow you really thought of everything for this place.” Scott replied as you smiled, “Actually, it was Tony’s idea.”
“Friday, activate Barnes Doors.” Tony stated as your voice sounded, “Yes boss.”
“I’ll never get used to that.” You smiled as the once lit room became dark, the only thing lighting the circle was the blueish glow of your force field
“Everyone comes home.” Bruce said to himself as he placed the glove onto his hand, the Stark technology expanding to incase his large fist, however once it was on, his body danced with small strings of the rainbow electric, as his knees buckled under him. A loud series of groans leaving his lips as he tried to raise his hand to snap.
“Take it off, take it off!” Thor called as Steve interjected, “Wait, Bruce, are you alright?”
“Banner, talk to us!” Tony called out to him as he groaned in agony, “I’m okay, I’m okay.”
-While you watched him lift his arm, you quickly noticed Nebula was missing from the room, a fact that you didn’t observe earlier. However your thought was cut short by the sound of metal rubbing against each other. At the event of the snap, Bruce fainted, the glove slipping from his hand as you, Tony and Steve rushed to him, his right arm burned severely from the energy that was surging through his body as a result of putting the glove on.
“Did it work?” Bruce painfully groaned out as Tony sprayed a cooling agent onto his arm
“We aren’t sure yet, but you did amazing.” You replied as Tony described Barnes Doors.
-You were so focused on comforting Bruce that you hadn’t noticed that Scott had walked away to the window to look at the birds, and that Clint’s phone was vibrating against the glass desk. It wasn’t until you heard a teary eyed Clint say, “Honey.” That you looked at Tony, and whispered, “It worked.”
-Instead of being excited though the next thing you heard was Bruce, “Incoming.”
-Following his gaze you saw the bullets coming, and quickly threw up another force field around the room, the only one not contained was Scott, who was blasted back into the blue wall as the room crumbled around you.
“What the hell was that!” Rocket yelled, as you looked to Steve, “Where’s Nebula?”
-With that question, Steve thought the same thing you did, and all you could do was whispered, “dracului” (Fuck)
“English!” Tony yelled
-The force field however couldn’t stop you all from falling into various locations however as the building crumbled under you, as you fell into the darkness you opened a gateway, and landed in the grassy field beside the smoking compound. Looking up you saw the ship hovering above you, and saw it slowly lowering to the rubble as you exhaled.
“Tony.” You called into your com, “Tony, you better be alive.”
-Your only response was him coughing, a sigh of relief leaving you as you slowly stood up.
“Where are you?” You asked as he whispered, “With America’s Ass in what used to be the lab.”
“I’m on my way.” You replied, opening another gateway and walking through to find Tony kicking Steve, “Come on Cap, time to wake up.”
“Do you really need to kick him?” You questioned as he sighed in response, “No, but I don’t feel like gently shaking him awake.”
With a gasp Steve came to, as Tony exclaimed, “Atta boy Rogers, here.” Handing over the shield he added, “Lose this again, and I am giving it back to Morgan.”
“What happened?” Steve asked as you joined the two, as Tony answered, “You mess with time, it tends to mess back.”
“You’ll see when you get out there, before I came back into here, there was a familiar looking aircraft right outside the compound. My assumption is that Thanos somehow is here to take back the stones, and had a little help from Nebula.”
“No, she would never help her father, she…”
“Now she does, but I don’t think our Nebula is the one who came back with us earlier.”
-As Steve rose you looked towards Tony, “Has anyone seen Thor, or the others?”
“I’m over here Lady [Y/N].” Thor called, your eyes turning towards a newly formed ledge, where Thor stood, overlooking the debris. As you and the boys went to join him, you saw the purple titan sitting among the rubble, his helmet and sword planted into the ground as he waited. His eyes glued to you as you took your place besides Thor, “What’s he been doing?”
“Exactly this.”
“Where are the stones?” Steve asked from behind you, as Tony stood besides you.
“Somewhere under all of this I am sure, however one thing is for sure, he definitely doesn’t have them.” Tony replied
“Then we keep it that way.” Steve added as you slowly started having your the mystic arts dance across your fingertips, as Thanos smirked.
“Cause that’s not creepy.” You responded as Thor matter of factly stated, “You know this is a trap, right.”
“100 percent.” You whispered
“Absolutely.” Steve replied
“Yeah, but see I don’t much care.” Tony added as Thor replied, “Good. Just as long as we are all in agreement.”
-As he spoke you noticed the thunder clouds started to circle, as Thor extended his arms. Armor appeared on his body, as Stormbreaker and Mjolnir crashed into his open palms. Once he was armed he stated, “Let’s kill him properly this time.”
-As the four of you approached Thanos he smiled wide, and stated, “You could not live with your own failure. Where did that bring you? Right back to me. I thought by eliminating half of all life that the other half would thrive, but you have shown me the error of my ways, that it’s impossible for them to thrive as long as there are those who remember what once was. That there will always be those who are unable to accept what could be, those who will resist.”
“Yup, we are all kinds of stubborn.” Tony interrupted as Thanos looked to the ground, “You know, I am thankful because now I know what I must do.”
-As he rose he continued, “I will shred this universe apart, all the way down to its last atom, and then with the stones you so kindly collected for me create a new, better universe, which will be thriving with life that knows not of what it lost, but only what it has been given. A grateful universe.”
-As he monologued, the four of you slowly spread out before Thanos, all gearing for battle, your hands now fully engulfed with the purplish blue glow of your magic.
“You mean a universe born out of blood shed.” Steve corrected as Thanos smiled, “They will never know it. Because you will not be alive to tell them.”
-With that statement the four of you charged the titan, Thor attacking with his lighting, while Steve threw the shield, Tony shot lasers at him, while you tried to both bind his limbs, and attack him with energy balls. Sometimes you were able to land a shot, but he was doing a swell job of fending for himself against the four of you.
-At one point Thor looked to you and called, “This might hurt a bit.”
“What?” You screamed as a lighting bolt hit you, and a more appropriate battle outfit manifested, similar to the one Wanda wore, where your clothes once sat, “Thor, you couldn’t have done this before we were fighting him.”
“Where’s the fun in that?” He asked as you threw a shield up to stop Thanos’s sword from hitting him.
“Thor, Buddy, now that you hit her, you think you can hit me?” Tony asked as he opened his energy booster, as Thor mustered all of his might and shot lighting right at Tony, who immediately used it to shoot his laser beams at Thanos. While he did this you once again attempted to lasso the purple beast but he easily deflected both attacks. Attempting to charge forward Thanos powered through the lasers and grabbed Tony just as Thor hit Mjolnir using Stormbreaker. Thanos lifted Tony as a shield and tossed him aside as all his armor flowed from the excess energy. Your feet quickly carried you to him as Steve and Thor distracted Thanos, “Tony, wake up old man.”
-Turning however you saw Thanos with Stormbreaker, trying to plunge it into his chest as you looked to an unconscious Tony, “Friday, wake him up.”
“Yes Miss Strange.” She sounded in his helmet as you took off toward the Titan, who sensed you coming, and without breaking his focus on Thor, he flung you into the rubble like a rag doll, your back hitting the cement hard as you groaned softly.
-You opened your eyes however just in time to see Steve throw Mjolnir, before summoning him back like a boomerang. Your breath shaky as you whispered, “Oh Tony is gonna be pissed when he hears this one.”
-While Steve fought Thanos with both the shield and Mjolnir, you sent several orbs whirling towards the pair, aiming for his unarmored face as you looked to see if Tony had come to yet. As you did however Thanos swung at both you and Steve, attempting to make both of you lose your footing.
-With one hard swing he knocked both you and Steve at least 50 yards, both of you landing 5 feet apart from one another as you groaned mockingly, “I could do this all day.”
“Yeah, not my finest catchphrase.” He sighed as you struggled to sit up.
-Both of you slightly panted as you rose back to your feet, the shield shattered as you looked to Thanos, who stood in the middle of the fallen, and spoke loudly, “In all my years of conquest, violence, slaughter, it was never a personal attack, but I will tell you now, what I am about to do to your stubborn, annoying, Puny planet, I’m going to enjoy it… very, very, very much.”
-As he spoke a large blue beam came down from the hovering ship, as the army of Thanos showed themselves finally onto the battlefield. As they did Steve and you had finally managed to get up onto your feet, your eyes fixated on Thanos, and immediately you allowed your hands to explode with blue energy, a smile on his face as you both slowly advanced towards Thanos, “What’s the plan Steve?”
“Don’t die.” He whispered, however before you could respond you heard static come through the com.
You looked at Steve confused until you heard the voice that had haunted your dreams for the last nine years, “Cap, it’s Sam. Can you hear me?”
-Before you could respond though you heard him say, “On your left.”
Turning you saw the first of hundreds of gateways opening, as you watched it expand you couldn’t help but sigh in relief, as T’Challa, Shuri and Okoyo walked out into the rubble. However you couldn’t help but smile as you watched a man with EXO-7 wings soared out of the gateway, and over your head. As he circled the field, all the other ones slowly expanded, your eyes drifting to each one until they landed on the slender frame of a man dressed as though he were a monk, his red cape expanded behind him as his hands reflected an orangish gold symbol. Around him strangers filed out, ready for the battle that was about to take place, but with a gasp, you saw Peter swing from the same gateway, and as his mask disappeared you couldn’t help the tears from falling.
“We did it.” You whispered, “We really did it.”
“Is that everyone?” Your father asked Wong as he looked at you, the tears slowly rolling down your face as Steve whispered, “Go.”
“What? You wanted more?” Wong replied as you took off towards the two, your father beaming at Wong’s typical response before he opened his arms to you, the force of your body hitting him knocking him back slightly as you clung to him.
“Well I never thought this would happen.” He softly chuckled as you whispered, “Never do that again.”
“I didn’t plan on it.” He sighed as he wrapped you in an embrace, your whisper only loud enough for him to hear, “I know you used the eye to see the outcome of this and that’s why you surrendered the stone, so I must ask…”
“There is only one way we win.” He replied, but before you could question how, you were cut off by Wong, “Don’t tell me living with Stark all this time made you soft?”
“In your dreams.” You replied with a smile as you detached from your father, and faced towards Thanos again, however you were scanning the field for Tony, who was finally coming to his senses again, just in time to see Pepper land before him.
“By the way, that spider kid is pretty smart.” Your father whispered as you beamed, “And to think, you probably told him he was annoying.”
“What can I say, I am only good with adults.”
-“Avengers!” Steve screamed as you once again allowed your hands to be overtaken by blue energy, your father’s and Wong’s eyes staring as you demonstrated something neither of them could do, “Assemble!”
-With a shout all of you took off towards the alien army, whom were also quickly advancing towards you, before either side could collide though with the other, you were sending orbs of energy towards them, each orb knocking the target back into the stampede to be trampled by their own comrades. During the charge you had lost Wong and your father, as you were quick to get to the front of the line with Thor, Steve, and Bruce. Above you Tony and Pepper were blasting their lasers, as Sam circled overhead, every so often he would scan the massive crowd for you, and just when he thought you were lost in the sea of aliens, he would see your purplish blue orbs whizzing through the battlefield.
-At one point you tried manifesting your energy to your throat, and screamed as loud as you could. It worked, a wave of purplish blue spread over a 50 foot radius, and knocked down anything in its path, which was thankfully mostly Thanos’s children.
“Remind me never to piss you off!” Bucky screamed through the com, having unfortunately been knocked over by your attack
“No promises.” You replied
-After your scream Strange looked to Wong, after watching the wave knock out the enemies, “Can you do that?”
“Not a chance.” Wong replied, “Hence why she should have gotten this title, not me.”
“She will never take it, she is stubborn.”
“Just like someone else I know.” Wong teased, before sending a whip out to slice an oncoming enemy in half.
-“Cap, what do you want me to do with these stones?” Clint called into the com as you threw an orb towards an alien who was chasing him.
“Get as far away as…”
“No, we need them here!” You replied, “If we don’t return them the past will be forever altered, meaning to avoid a category five TVA event, we need to return them.”
“A what?” Tony asked as you replied, “I’ll explain it to you later!”
“How are we going to pull that off though, Thanos destroyed the quantum base.” Bruce stated
“Yeah, but that wasn’t our only time machine.” Scott rebuttaled as he pressed the alarm button to the broken down can he had arrived in days prior.
“Does anyone see an ugly brown van?” Steve asked, as Sam answered, “Yeah, but it is parked in the worst location.”
“Scott, how quickly can you get that thing working?” Tony asked
“Maybe 10 minutes.” He answered as Steve instructed, “Get the stones to Scott, everyone else…”
“Guard them with everything you have, cause they are all coming for them.” You cut him off, before shooting a laser of energy from your hands.
“You are starting to look like Wanda, you know that?” Clint asked through the com as you smiled, “There is only one Wanda though… and sadly, I’m not it.”
-“Hey you said 1 out of 14 million we win, right? Tell me this is it.” Tony demanded as your father looked at him, his face straight as he replied, “If I tell you how it is supposed to happen, it won’t.”
Tony sighed, “Well you better be right. Also, I hope for your daughter’s sake you are right because the only reason I even agreed to do this time heist, was because she left me to do it. She believed she could bring you back, and even after finding out you traded the time stone for a different reason than you gave Thanos she still believed in you. So don’t let her down.”
“I won’t.” Strange replied as Tony blasted off, knowing that the only way this could work is by his daughter’s heart shattering.
-As they played hot potato with the Glove, you stayed close to it, blasting anyone who was an enemy, in an effort to protect it.
-When Wanda landed in front of Thanos, you couldn’t help but smile with pride as she levitated before him with two giant piles of rubble
-When Peter activated instant kill you spoke loudly into the com, “Clear out around Peter, and Peter…. Duck.”
You landed right next to him, and screamed as loud as you could, all of Thanos’s troops falling out as your energy hit them. Your hand extending to Peter as you helped him up, “Hey.”
“Hey.” He whispered back as you engulfed him in a hug, the glove between you both as you whispered, “I have so much to fill you in on. Like they made a new Star Wars movie, and it’s awful, and ohhh we have a little sister, well actually Tony had a kid, but we told her you were her geeky older brother.”
“It’s really been five years.” Peter whispered as you replied, “Yeah, but hey, we got you back, and that’s all that matters.”
-Before he could reply though Clint barked, “I hate to break up the reunion, but they are coming still.”
“Go, I’ll hold them off.” You instructed, letting go of Peter, as you turned to face the charging army. However before you could attack, Thanos’s ships began randomly spraying bullets across the field hitting both the Avengers and their own troops.
-One blasted close enough to launch you into the air, however you opened a gateway and fell through that, before safely rolling onto the rubble, which just happened to be located at Sam’s feet
“Hey girl, are you a flash bang? Cause you are stunning.” Sam joked before reaching his hand out to help you up.
“And to think I never thought I would hear those jokes again.” You groaned as you looked at him for the first time in 5 years.
“So after this…” however you were cut off by one of Thanos’s children tackling him, as you sent a blue orb towards them to knock him away from Sam. However you quickly turned to see one coming at you, and as you fended for yourself, once again Sam and you were separated.
-Rocket came to help you take care of the two that attacked you after you defeated the first one, “Thanks,” you whispered as Rocket laughed, “Don’t mention it, think you can get me the Sergeant’s arm though?”
“Not a chance.” You replied before taking off toward where you thought the van was, completely unaware that somehow the glove had gotten into the hands of Carol, who was taking the glove away from the van, and closer to where your father was.
-When they blasted Carol out of the sky, and Tony, Thor, and Steve were taking on Thanos alone you had made it to the Van, “Hey, how can I help?”
“Do you know where the glove is?”
“No, it’s not here.” You asked as you went through the com, “Hey Peter where is the glove?”
“The blonde lady with the short hair took it.” He answered as you sighed, “Carol has it.”
-You started towards where you thought you saw her blast off too, but before you even made it 20 feet away, one of Thanos’s soldiers knocked you to the ground, as you struggled to get out from under him.
-After several moments of struggling you finally were able to blast his off of yourself and slowly started to sit up, a groan left your lips as you whispered, “I need to get a new job.”
-As you stood Thanos's army started to slowly fade away to dust. You looked around the field, which was mostly empty now, since all the action was taking place on the other side. Sam’s eyes on you, as though he knew something was wrong. However it was the voice of Friday that pulled you to reality, “Miss Strange, Mrs. Potts needs you right away, it’s Mr. Stark.”
-You took off running, everyone clearing a path for you as your feet carried you towards the gathering crowd, unaware that Pepper was kneeling right there in the center whispering that he could let go. Tony’s mind flooded with all the moments he cherished, all of them included Pepper, Happy, Morgan, Peter, You, and even a few in there featured Cap. As his eyes fluttered shut, and Pepper’s name slipped off his lips you were almost there, you could see him fade, and when his head lolled to the side you stopped, your heart shattering as you started to fall, a scream erupting from your throat as Sam reached forward to grab you. Your vision covered by tears as Sam eased you to the smokey ground, your nails digging into his forearm as your head curled into your lap, sobs shaking your body to the core as he held you, his own eyes fixed on Pepper, who had turned with her own tear covered face to watch Tony’s best friend enter a world without him.
-Everyone was shaken to the core by your sobs, and your screams, Peter immediately wanted to go to you, yet Pepper reached her hand out to stop him, “She has exactly who she needs right now.”
-Sam pulled you as close as he could, and softly whispered into your ear, “It’s gonna be okay babe I promise.”
-Finally Sam whispered, “Can I carry you to the quinjet?” Your voice was gone, your throat raw from sobbing as he slowly collected you, taking your silence as a yes. Once in his arms you immediately wrapped your arms around his neck, and pulled yourself as close as you could to him, tears still trickling down your face as you buried your head into his shoulder.
-When Sam entered the quinjet, and slowly set you down, you were met by the force of Wanda, her perfume invaded your nose as she pulled you into a rib crushing embrace. Her eyes met Sam’s as he gave a slight nod, and watched her lift a hand behind your head. A small web of red danced from her fingertips as your body slowly gave way under you, your mind now in a deep state of sleep.
-On the ride back Sam looked towards your father, “You knew, didn’t you?”
“I did, that was why I gave Thanos the stone. I saw only one way would work, and it had to be this way.”
“Didn’t you think….”
“I have been, I was stuck in the same void as you, and I thought about it every day.” Stephen hissed, looking towards the seat you were laying across, your head was on Wanda’s lap as her fingers ran through your hair, “You really don’t think I knew how close they were, or how much she loved him. They were broken, and found stability, and trust in one another. The bond they shared was closer than even the bond she shared with you, because he did everything to prove he would never leave her side, and vise versa. When I saw the solution, I also saw this, and I know my daughter is strong, and will overcome this, because she is a Strange.”
“No, it’s because she is more like him than she will ever admit.” Sam muttered, as his eyes met Strange’s, “Besides, Tony was more of a support system for her than you ever were, meaning that this loss for her is more than just her losing her best friend..”
“I know, it’s like she lost a father because I was a shitty father, and I wasn’t there, and I did so much wrong in my limited time with her that I should be ashamed of myself. You sound like a broken record of every person who has an option of my relationship with my daughter. But at least I am doing right to try to fix the relationship, tell me Mr. Wilson…. What are you doing?”

Scott Lang x Reader Chapter 13
This chapter follows directly on from chapter 12 I REALLY need to make a master list I know. Ended up way longer than I expected but I hope you enjoy! :)) and let me know if you want to be added to my tag list <3
Warnings: smut, age gap, swearing as fucking always
‘Oh fuck,’ his eyelids fluttered as he rode into you. You wanted to take his shirt off and take all of him in but the pleasure was keeping you lay down. Scott felt your walls tightening as you struggled to decide where to look and what to do with your hands. He seemed to sense the indecision because in a surprisingly wholesome twist, Scott’s hand found its way in your hair before caressing your cheek. All you could hear was both of your heavier breaths matching each other’s rhythms. You’d known before (and of course said before) that you loved Scott but having him look at you with such compassion in bed made you know for certain.
You both let the pause continue but Scott’s impatience was obvious, despite him trying to hide it for your sake. ‘You’re wearing too many clothes,’ you finally said before smirking up at him. The atmosphere took an instant shift as the two of you fought with the fabric and felt it rip off of his chest. And oh fucking hell was the sight of Scott shirtless a treat. You knew he worked out, Tony had a gym everyone used for training, but you never knew he had actual ab muscles. Scott chuckled as he watched you stare at them in awe. Fuck fuck fuck. You couldn’t believe what was happening.
Scott’s finger below your chin guided your gaze back to his green eyes. There was no hesitation after that. As the two of you kissed with lust filled ferocity, you postured up and pushed down on Scott’s shoulders so you could sit in his lap. You tried to continue devouring each other’s taste but the sound that slipped from you as you sank down onto him was pornographic and distracting as hell. You rode him slowly because after such a long wait why not tease him? He could have made this happen ages ago. Selfish of him really.
‘Jesu-fuck Y/N,’ the poor man struggled to keep his head facing you and not back looking at the ceiling. ‘You feel amazing,’ you couldn’t help but beam at his praise. After spending so many nights touching yourself to the fantasy of riding him, having it happen in real life was overwhelming. His large hands gripped your waist while you continued your torment of slowly filling yourself up and down. You didn’t want this to just become another memory in the past that would never happen again. Scott’s firm hands digging into your waist brought you away from the nagging thoughts. ‘Fuck you’re so tight.’ He felt so good it was driving you insane. As he hit your g-spot dangerously slowly you let out a whine.
‘You..can go,’ he already sounded wrecked which made you smug as anything. ‘Faster than that Y/N.’ His eyes were closed but you were determined to keep yours open to look at his face. The obvious pleasure he was feeling. You decided to oblige him and speed up, never once did his cock grazing your g spot not send wonderful shivers down your spine. Your face felt hot- your whole body was on fire.
It was your turn to throw your head back. No one had made you feel as high as Scott, not even close. The man was fucking addictive.
All you could focus on was the full feeling you had in your stomach, Scott’s wrecked voice and his firm grip on your waist. Part of you wished they were around your neck. Maybe next time. ‘Scotttttt….’ you moaned. He fucking adored hearing you moan and hearing you say his name was going to send him over the edge. You wanted to see it. With desperate, yet shaky hands, you thought about crawling his back but it felt forced for a moment. Once again he sensed your minor uncertainty and handled it for you. ‘Come here,’ his voice was husky but breathless as he pulled you into a kiss while you rode him faster and faster.
Your walls were tightening and your toes began to curl on the bedsheets but you felt a sudden impulse to move so you pulled him on top of you. It broke the kiss but it meant on Scott’s next thrust you felt him even deeper and a prolonged moan left your open mouth as you came. Your eyes closed and your body jerked and writhed underneath Scott’s panting chest. He didn’t move for a moment, completely lost in witnessing you enjoy every second of your orgasm. It hit you in waves that felt endless for a moment before your entire body stopped its uncontrollable writhing that pushed Scott over the edge.
He came inside you and, for a moment, almost lost balance. You were so in shock from the huge mass of pleasure you’d just felt that your chest was rising and falling heavier than it did after a run. That orgasm had hit you like a brick. You struggled to sit up as you felt Scott, to your surprise, move down your body. How did he have any energy left? You were exhausted.
One more feeble attempt to sit up was not needed because Mr Scott Lang had decided to surprise you by inserting his fingers in your pussy and smugly licking your clit. Without the much needed warning. ‘Ah- too sensitive!’ You squealed, backing away from Scott on the bed to escape. He was definitely amused. ‘You okay over there?’ Wow. After the sounds he had made?! He was going to make you out to be overwhelmed? However his confident side made you wet and you were not one to complain after sex so:
‘I’m great.’ You smiled coyly and closed your legs as if you weren’t leaking his cum all over the bed and just there to talk. Scott smiled and made his way back over to you like a panther on some sort of sick hunt. ‘You’re trouble.’ He responded, almost judging but still humorous. When you didn’t respond you saw his face change to show some insecurity about his actions. ‘Are you already regrett-‘
‘I regret not getting you to slam me against a wall to be honest.’ You hugged your knees, your breath had returned to normal and you were grinning at Scott like a cat that had gotten its own way. Finally.
‘Well shit,’ he paused with his hand on his forehead and a raise of his eyebrows. ‘That can be arranged.’
Yes but not now, you thought, too tired for that. Must sleep. Must lie down.
The bed, despite being wet, was so inviting and Scott following your lead and wrapping his arms around your waist even more so. You felt safe next to him. At peace. You heard Scott’s breathing normalise but neither one of you spoke. There was no awkwardness like you’d feared and apart from the horrible intrusive thought ‘Am I better or worse than his ex wife’ you felt calm and… happy. Really happy. Tentatively, Scott’s hands found themselves stroking your hair. He ran his fingers through it gently and you smiled and closed your eyes. The smell of sex had filled the room but your arousal was somehow being overpowered by the calm. And there was one question you were curious about.
‘How long for you?’
You expected a brief silence or atleast a ‘Huh’ due to your vagueness but Scott just knew exactly what you’d meant.
‘Atleast a year,’ you quietly turned to face him so he knew he had your full attention. ‘But I really knew when you came to comfort me, on my anniversary.’ You couldn’t help but raise your eyebrows and scoff. ‘You mean when I came to annoy you on the roof?’ Scott’s smirk grew into a full grin at you. ‘And why is that so surprising?’ To be quite honest you’d felt like an intrude that night and not much help to him at all but it was nice to know he felt differently. He looked so pretty lay opposite you, your hands found their way into his hair ruffling it even more. ‘I don’t know.’ You lied.
‘What about you?’ It was his turn to play with your hair again. Oh that was easy. Too easy. ‘First day I met you,’ it was growing harder to look Scott in the eye as you admitted it. ‘I kept thinking about y- I only ever asked you dumb questions as an excuse to talk to you until- well until we were friends.’ He was listening intently which you were not used to men doing. “Were?” Scott questioned knowingly, he waited for your response and you could practically see his ego growing by the second. Of course ‘were’.
‘Well would you call this friendship?’ You laughed, gesturing to the two of you in bed slightly sweaty from moments earlier. After a second too long for your liking passed your eyes widened at the sight of Scott’s hoodie on the floor. You’d forgot he’d brought it with him and it looked comfy as anything. ‘Hold on I’ve always wanted to do this,’ you grinned excitedly like a little kid and Scott watched you in amusement. Struggling for a moment, you pulled the black hoodie over your head (because your hair wasn’t messy enough already) and gestured proudly to your new (stolen) outfit. It smelt like him which just made you giddier.
‘You’ve never slept with a guy and stolen his hoodie before?’ Scott raised his eyebrows clearly not believing you or understanding the appeal. ‘They’ve been out the fucking door too fast.’ You shrugged trying not to let that harsh fact sink in. Oh well. You were feeling good now at least. Scott frowned but once again you couldn’t help but not wait for his reply- just in case it hurt you in some way and brought your high down. ‘Kinda hungry not gonna lie.’ You hadn’t even eaten yet but that wasn’t what you were really thinking about as you stood over Scott as he sat on the bed.
Slyly, he ran his calloused hands under his hoodie and up your torso making you gasp. He couldn’t help but grin at the strong reactions you had to his mild touches. Deciding to really tease you, Scott’s hand traveled down to your pussy so he could finger you but being overstimulated you whined and grabbed his wrist. The man just thought you sounded pretty. ‘Fuck- you’re dripping sweetheart.’ You grinned once again at his words and clenched your thighs together. ‘Who’s fault is that?’

The Football Player (Part One)
Based on this request: “Bucky is a football player and you are a fan of the team but you're also really shy. Secretly Bucky also developed a crush on you. He sees you getting mocked by some idiots and he gets in between to stand up for you. Later then he asks you for a walk and he kisses you.”
masterlist / part two
According to every ounce of common sense still left in your body, you should be paying attention. You’re in school, might as well actually learn something, right? You have a test next period, and if you were smart or wanted to pass at all, you should be focusing right now, tracking every single word that your professor is saying. The only problem is that you’re not doing this whatsoever. No, your gaze is instead directed out the window, where a certain football team is just beginning practice.
It’s not like you were intentionally trying to get distracted. You had come to the classroom right on time, pencils lined up and notebook out, ready to start the day. Your gaze just happened to accidentally shift to the window instead, and when you saw number seventeen in red and gold, well, how could you focus on math at a time like this? You’d seen James Barnes around the school many times, but he never ceases to amaze you.
Honestly, even talking about him tends to light a fire behind your cheeks. You’ve seen this movie dozens of times before: shy, studious girl falls for the football player, hijinks ensue. However, this isn’t a Hollywood blockbuster. Bucky is a star member of the team, and you’re just a fan of your school’s football games. Whenever you do icebreakers in class and you’re forced to describe yourself in one word, you always reach for ‘bookish’ or ‘smiling’. Certainly never ‘superbly athletic’ or ‘on Bucky’s radar in any way’. Those aren’t even one word.
However, you never quite seem to let yourself be brought back to reality. Time and time again, you don the red and gold colors of your school- Mid-Capital University, or MCU, ready to go cheer on the team and your favorite player especially so. In fact, there’s a game tonight, you’ll be going with your friend. No matter how many times you laugh at yourself, though, you can’t shake your crush. You doubt it’ll be going away anytime soon.
The night is young, the shouts loud. You cheer with your friend and the rest of the school as the football team runs out onto the field. Their manager, a Mr. Stark, watches from the sidelines, yelling directions or complaining about how much the equipment is going to cost. The team jogs over to their captain, Steve Rogers, to huddle up and discuss final strategy. Steve is a senior, and you’ve heard rumors that he’s chosen Sam Wilson to take his place as captain next year. He’s Bucky’s best friend, so you’ve heard, although they pretend to fight often enough that you’d think they were rivals.
Bucky is here as well now, eyes glinting from underneath his helmet. He’d had long hair for the longest time, but when he’d cut it over the summer there had been more than a few desolate sighs from the cheerleaders. You had to smile at that- at least you weren’t head-over-heels enough to give up your crush based on his hair. You weren’t that bad yet.
As you watch, the team takes their position. They’ll be playing their rivals tonight, the Hydras. Steve heads to the back, Bucky and Sam on either side of him. Further along the team, you can begin to recognize other players- Scott Lang, a kid who’s scrawny off the field but seems to grow twice in size the second he puts on his gear, Peter Parker, the freshman who managed to make it on the team within his first few days, and Natasha Romanoff, the one girl on the team who’s got a death stare promising she’ll tear any objectors to shreds.
The whistle blows, and the teams are off. You watch with bated breath as Bucky darts left, right, catches the ball from Steve and takes off down the field. Apprehension grows across the student body until at last- touchdown, your school! You rise with the others, cheering in unison. Maybe you’re just being silly, but you could swear Bucky looked at you with a smile just as he started off back towards the line.
The rest of the football game is a breeze. Your school wins easily, and Bucky definitely did his part to secure the victory. The next day, everyone is still buzzing over the catches and near misses with their friends, not wanting to miss a single moment. You suppose it’s still on your mind, which is why you’re frozen in your tracks when your new lab partner sits down beside you in biology.
It’s Bucky. Of course it is Bucky. Of course, the one time you have to have a new lab partner in class, your teacher manages to have the terrible luck to place you with the one person who reduces you to a blushing mess every time he steps within ten feet of you. Bucky slings his backpack down beside his chair, offering you an easy smile like a flyer, free of charge.
“I’m Bucky.” He says, and you remember yourself. “I know. I saw the game, you were really good. I’m Y/N, uh, by the way.” Bucky’s smile grows even wider when you mention the game, if that’s possible. “You saw the game? That’s so nice of you.” You feel like you can’t form a coherent thought. “Yeah, I went with my friends. Your team won.” You want to slap yourself in the head- of course he won, he was there. You’re stating the obvious.
But Bucky doesn’t laugh at you, or act like you’ve said anything strange. He just nods, shoulders slumping slightly as he thinks about last night’s game. “It was hard. I guess every time you go against your rival school the pressure’s just ten times worse. It took a lot to just run out on the field.”
He stiffens slightly after he says this, like he wasn’t intending on sharing that secret just yet. However, you’re just grateful that you’re not the only one saying whatever pops into your head. “I can’t blame you. If it’s worth anything, though, I thought you were great.” Bucky’s beaming smile is back, brighter than ever. “It’s worth a lot from you.”
Maybe this sudden seating arrangement won’t be that bad after all.
Your friend catches up to you the second you leave the biology room behind. She looks back and forth between you and Bucky’s retreating form, something in between astonishment and a teasing grin lingering on her face. “Tell me I didn’t just make that up. Tell me you’re actually the lab partner of the one and only Bucky Barnes, the guy you’ve been crushing on for, like, forever.”
You shove her slightly, although you can’t help but smile. “It’s true. I don’t know how, but it’s true. Guess the bio teacher really liked me that period.” Your friend loops an arm around your shoulders. “It’s not just him who really likes you. Did you see the way he was looking at you? All through class, he kept stealing glances. I think Bucky Barnes has a crush on you.”
You stop in your tracks. “That’s impossible. He would never.” Your friend crows in victory. “But he did! You don’t stare at somebody like that unless you’re hopelessly in love with them. It’s the same way you stare at him.” Indignation rises in you like a spring. “I don’t stare at him. I just observe, casually.” Your friend snorts. “Well, you casually observe him a lot. Honestly, I just see this as a success. If you can get the star football player to fall in love with you, then I think I can win the lottery or something.”
Even after your laughter rises and dies away, you can’t help but think about what your friend said. Surely it’s impossible- Bucky would never so much as talk to you outside of class, let alone have a crush on you. But your friend wasn’t exactly lying. You had seen Bucky out of the corner of your eye, the way a smile lingered on his lips when he glanced over at you. That wasn’t just nothing, right? Honestly, this whole lab partners deal might be more pressing than you ever thought possible.
The only way to move on is to go through the next day, and the next. After that, however, you have biology again, and that means finding your place next to Bucky Barnes and pretending like your heart rate isn’t skyrocketing the second he smiles up at you, saying he’s glad to see you again. Your friend keeps stealing glances your way, eyes wide and thumbs raised in an expression of impressed awe.
As it turns out, your friend isn’t the only one to see something between you and Bucky. You make your way out of the bio room, unable to hide a smile, although your happy outlook disappears the second somebody blocks your path across campus. This somebody just happens to be Mandy Fleming, bottle blonde junior who thinks she owns the school, and her entourage of preening followers.
Mandy folds her arms over her chest, considering you. Her lip purses. Evidently she finds something lacking. “You know, I don’t think we’ve had a proper conversation in a while. We need to make a few things clear.” You force a smile, trying to step around her. “Can we do it later? I have places to be.” Mandy curls her lip. “I don’t wait. This can’t wait. See, you’ve developed the unfortunate habit of spending too much time around Bucky Barnes.”
You raise an eyebrow. “We’re lab partners. What, you want me to ignore him?” Mandy’s eyes narrow. “That would be preferable. Next class, you’re going to go up to the professor and tell him you want to switch partners. Make something up about wanting to be closer to the board or something, I’m sure he’ll believe it.” You can barely listen to her. “And why would I do that?” Mandy takes a step closer. “Bucky is mine, not yours. I’m going to need you to back off.”
You stare at her. “You want me to switch lab partners all because a boy you’re not even dating is sitting next to me?” Mandy’s head rears back. You’ve obviously struck a nerve. “Listen here, honey. This isn’t an issue about me, it’s an issue about you. What, did you really think Bucky would ever even give you the time of day? You’re a nobody, a nothing, somebody not even worth a fraction of his time. Honestly, I’m doing him a favor by getting rid of you. He doesn’t want to see you, not for a second.”
With every word, you can feel your confidence plummeting. Mandy notices this, a smirk burning even deeper into her lips. Sometimes, you swear she can smell fear just like an animal. “You’re worried because you know I’m right. You’re pathetic, really, and Bucky Barnes wants nothing to do with you.” Just as you feel like you want to go back to your dorm room and never see the light of day again, a voice rings out from behind you. It’s a voice you recognize instantly, and one that Mandy does too, as she shrinks back the second she hears it.
“You couldn’t be more wrong.” Bucky steps forward, taking a place next to you. Mandy forces a smile. “I, uh, don’t know what you’re talking about. Y/N and I are just having a little chat about homework. We had homework, right, a textbook reading and-” Bucky cuts her off coolly. “I heard every word. If you think I’d want to choose you over her, you’re wrong. She’s a hundred times the girl you’ll ever be.”
Mandy stammers, fishing around for words but coming up with nothing. It’s almost cathartic to watch. “Now, if you’ll excuse us, Y/N and I have somewhere to be. And if I hear you trying to talk to her like that again, believe me when I say that this won’t be the worst I’ll say to you.” Bucky offers you a hand like a proper gentleman, and you take it, letting him steer you away from Mandy and her followers, who are still gaping at your backs.
The second you’re out of earshot, Bucky turns to you, apologies and regret written all over his face. “I’m so sorry about that. It’s all my fault- she’s been trying to flirt with me all semester, and I finally gave up and rejected her, and now she’s taking it out on you. I wish none of this ever happened.” You manage to force a smile. “Trust me, it’s fine.”
Bucky looks at you, concern still lingering in his eyes. “Are you sure? I can talk to them again if you think they’ll bother you.” You laugh at that. “Don’t worry about me. I’m perfectly alright.” Bucky smiles at that. “Well, if you are perfectly alright, I was wondering if you were busy this Saturday. I saw this new park that opened, and it looked really interesting, but if you’re busy or something we can totally do something else, or nothing at all, whatever you-”
You cut him off, unable to hide a smile at his rambling. “I think that sounds excellent. I’ll see you there?” Bucky’s face lights up. “I’ll see you there.” He gathers his courage one last time, then leans forward to kiss you. He flashes you one last perfect smile before disappearing around the corner, leaving you with a smile and the memory of his lips on yours. When you look up, you see scores of jealous girls staring at you, but for once, the attention doesn’t bother you. Why should it? You have Bucky at last, and he doesn’t want anyone but you.

“OH, PLEASE. I SLEEP LIKE A BABY EVER SINCE I JOINED THE DARK SIDE. YOU SHOULD TRY IT. being rid of all responsibility and stuff feels… well, wonderful.” tony nudged him with his shoulder back, shaking his head a little bit. he had never paid lang the time of the day - perhaps because of his association with hank and because of the fact his father had never gotten along with him either, but.. well, he had to admit that lang was…. well, not as bad, as people went, ever since he had been brought back. “okay, your kid likes him. that’s great. ever thought she didn’t see him at his worst like hope did? not on her side or anything - don’t even know her - but.. let’s just say i know what it’s like to be on the receiving end of that. it sticks with you. doesn’t leave you alone - even thirty years later. trust me. i’d know.” because what howard stark had done to him was still with him and always would be. in a way? he understood probably better than most people. he really did. “oh, you fucked up too? DAMN, MAN. know what that’s like. rest of the booze is on me for the rest of the night, then.” tony pondered what to do next, before sighing. looked like the idiot had grown on him, so much that he actually wanted to help. “come with me, lang. come on. put those down and follow me.” he didn’t want to see if he did or not, moving towards a room that he kept in the back of his office at stark industries. one that he only had access to. when he turned on the lights? it was very easy to see what it was - A MURDER BOARD. “good thing about everyone in town thinking you’re nothing more than a drunk? i’ve been putting the pieces of everything that’s been happening here together and.. voila.” he stepped backwards, just so the other could see. it had… well… everything. right? “to answer your question… yes, she is,” he pointed to a picture on the board. “the name’s amanda young. tough one. bad past. not a single non-criminal bone in her body. and if you’re thinking of approaching her? i wouldn’t. looks like she could rip you in two and do her nails at the same time. works at the bar owned by the odinson brothers, where.. she and van dyne were seen all night during the night richards was murdered. perfect alibi. alongside…. this guy,” he pointed to yet another picture, arms crossed over his chest. “name’s hugh drysdale. ransom. again - criminal. known for killing people for hire. a hitman, if you will. was in jail for over ten years for murdering his grandfather.. is out now.. helped the ladies with their murdering, alongside.. well, a fourth individual i’ve not been able to identify just yet. hence the little question mark. but alas… our little four misfits took the guy to the woods where no one would hear him scream, had their way with him all night long and… chopped him into tiny little pieces once they were done. bad guy or not? you can see how that sucks. anyways, if you tell anyone i know this.. you’re a dead man. and not just dead at the hands of your ex and her new girlfriend and their sidekicks, but.. dead at my hands. got it? i’m showing you this so you don’t play hero and get yourself killed.” he shrugged a little bit. “look, man. i don’t know anything specific, but.. you said it yourself. he’s number one in her shit list. look me in the eye and tell me that you think that after seeing all this… she wouldn’t get rid of him just like that?”
@xtinyslip
“the dark side? it sounds great... very dark... uh stuff but i’m good where i am thanks.” scott did smile slightly at that though because he didn’t really like to think that tony had gone that far. that he was officially on the dark side. there was no excusing how screw up. no. but people came back from this kind of stuff, right? for the sake of his friend -- he hoped so. “why does everything have to come down to taking sides?” it was frustrating because he hadn’t fallen out with hank and now... he’d gone and fallen out with hope over the fact he didn’t want to be against either of them. what the hell even was this? it was making his head hurt. “this isn’t about either of them and the history they have. i’ll do my best to respect whatever they have going on but this is it about my kid. i told her her whole life how we don’t give up on family. i pick a side? that’s what i’m doing.” that’s how he saw it. this was complicated enough but with how cassie loved hank? he couldn’t just banish him out of his life. what kind of message was that sending her? he couldn’t do it. “yeah, i fucked up.” big time. “guess i should fuck up more often then?” lame attempt at a joke he didn’t even find funny because this sucked. it worse than sucked. it was breaking his heart to think that hope didn’t think he wanted to be with her, that he didn’t want to be by her side because he did. of course, he did. “uh... this is...” what was even the word? “... terrifying but i admit impressive.” he didn’t want to look at it but a part of him couldn’t look away, taking note of all the details. “tony... man, i’ve not always liked you but you were always a genius.” it was true and considering how important tony was to him now, he felt he could admit it. “hope’s with a --” he just nodded a moment. it was always going to be a blow to know she’d been dating someone whilst he was... gone but a woman? how had that never come up in conversation before? “approach her? i even thought of doing that? hope would get to me before that woman could...” oh, he saw the anger, he saw expressions from her that he had never seen in her before. scott brought his hands over his mouth as tony explained what had happened, nodding his head to show he was listening as he kept his eyes on the board. “tony... even if i wanted to... play hero and do something. what could i do? hope might be... slightly unhinged right now but i don’t want her to be in prison. anything i do? it could lead to that.” it was his roundabout way of telling tony that he was good. that he wasn’t going to do anything. “i’m not taking sides. i’m not taking sides. i’m not taking sides.” he mumbled to himself, rubbing his hand down his face. “but i can’t. i can’t let that happen.” @lcvenderhcze

Resurrect Me (N.R.)
Warnings: swearing; death; Hell/the Underworld; cliff jumping lol
Word Count≈ 3.1k (yikes lol my bad)
Hecate一 the goddess of magic, witchcraft, the night, the moon, ghosts, and necromancy. Known to be an intricate mosaic of good and evil, destruction and beauty. Capable of granting wishes, summoning the dead, resurrections, teleportation, warping realities on unfathomable scales, mind control, energy manipulation, and any sorcery or magic known to the Gods. Second only to Zeus himself.
I am the human embodiment of Hecate. I am not Hecate; she merely resides in the depths of my soul and provides me guidance. We do not communicate through words; she speaks through dreams and gut feelings, and sometimes even through signs in the outside world. I have not mastered the powers she’s granted me, nor have I reached my full potential. In addition to the Goddess’ powers, I hold the basic Olympian powers, such as superhuman speed and stamina. I have no recollection of how I merged with Hecate or the life I lived before this point, and she has provided me with no answers, but I do not question her motives.
Agent Phil Coulson came across me in my temple in Turkey. Apparently, he had discovered strange energy readings coming from the temple. When he arrived, I used the power of energy manipulation to blow the concrete off of me, and that is the first thing I remember一 emerging from underneath Hecate’s temple.
I joined the Avengers during the Battle of New York. Agent Coulson had recommended me to Fury when he was piecing together the Avengers Initiative. In the three years between my awakening and the invasion, I practiced my sorcery mercilessly and studied Hecate deep in the Greek countryside. I’ve stuck with the Avengers throughout the years, fighting every battle alongside them. Through the ups and downs, I’ve fallen head over heels for Natasha Romanoff. One would assume that with so much power, I’d be confident and have any mortal begging at my feet. That couldn’t be any more inaccurate, however. As I’ve said, I am not Hecate; I am simply the human embodiment of the goddess. And as a human, I turn into a blushing, stuttering mess whenever the levelheaded assassin is near. Consequently, there have been many years of pining, but I’ve yet to muster up the courage to ask the woman on a date.
In our most recent war, we’ve gone up against a mad titan一 Thanos. We lost terribly. Half of all living things inhabiting the universe were snapped away. I can’t help but ponder whether things would’ve gone differently if I had better mastered my powers. I potentially hold all the capabilities of the goddess of magic; aside from Zeus, I hold more power than any being to ever exist. I’ve practiced my sorcery every day for the past five years on the off chance that we ever get a rematch一 a chance to bring everyone back. I’ve improved significantly, but Hecate has been oddly quiet for the past few years. It’s driving me crazy. I know she’s still there, but she hardly provides an ounce of guidance.
And so, that is where I find myself now一 practicing sorcery in the room specifically designed to isolate me when I use dark magic. Everyone who has access to the training section of the compound knows that they should never enter this room. It is far too dangerous for regular mortals. As I warp the room’s reality, a dark mist envelops me. When it clears, the room has changed into a 50s ballroom. I look down to see an elegant maroon ball gown covering my body, and I scan the empty area. I hear a pair of heels clicking toward me, and I spin around, already panicking. In order for someone to be here with me, they would have to be an inhabitant of the location’s true reality. My eyes land upon the woman I’ve grown to love, dressed up for the event. She is wearing an extravagant light blue ball gown, and her hair is carefully done up.
“Natasha? What are you doing here?”
“Why I came to dance with you, of course.” She steps closer and drapes her arms around my neck, swaying to the nonexistent music. Stay calm. Don’t panic. There’s no way I’m making her do this. I’m not even doing anything! Of course I’m the one making her do this, who else would it be?! Breathe in. Breathe out. My powers don’t control me. I control them. Just breathe. I can do this. I know how to do this.
As I focus on the magic coursing through my veins, a black mist envelops us, and the room returns to its original form一 a basic training room with black padded walls. I immediately take a large step back from Natasha.
“What the fuck is wrong with you, Natasha?! You know you can’t come in here! I could’ve seriously hurt you!”
“I...I’m sorry. I thought you’d just be moving shit with your mind. I didn’t realize you could do...that, whatever that was.”
“That was reality manipulation. I didn’t know you were here and I don’t have full control of it, so you got caught up in it. Are you okay? Do you remember it?”
“Yeah, I remember it clear as day. I was still me and I was still in control, it was just...different, I guess.”
“Well, I literally warped your reality, so even if you felt in control, you might not have been.”
“You stopped it, though. I remember when that seemed impossible. You’re getting better.”
“Thanks, I guess.” I awkwardly scratch the back of my neck. “What did you come in here for in the first place?”
“This is gonna sound crazy, but Scott Lang is here. We might have a way to bring everybody back.”
“Wait, what? Holy shit. It’s happening. Okay, come on then!” I eagerly walk past her, grabbing her hand as I pass her, and we leave my training room. I realize that I’m still holding her hand as we make it to the meeting room, and I immediately drop it, clearing my throat. If I wasn’t so familiar with the sensation, then I would swear that my ears and cheeks are on fire.
<//>
We all step onto the platform in matching white and red time-travel suits. “We’re really doing this?”
“Hell yeah, we’re doing this,” Clint answers.
“Alright, then. We bring everybody back,” I say with determination. “Whatever it takes,” Steve adds.
“See you in a minute,” Natasha adds with a smirk. Before I can appreciate how beautiful she looks with the glimmer of hope in her eyes, we’re flying through a flurry of colors. Nebula, Natasha, Rhodey, Clint, and I land on Morag. We all say our respective goodbyes before Nat, Clint, and I get on a jet to head to Vormir.
<//>
“A soul for a soul.”
“What? That’s insane. Look, no offense, Mr. Bloody Tampon, but why should we just trust what you’re saying? Because you know their fathers’ names?”
“I didn’t.” I looked into Natasha’s eyes as she spoke and I instantly wish that I could replace the dull sadness with the bright hope that had filled them before.
“He doesn’t know my father’s name. If he’s some mystical being, then why can’t he tell me that?” I turned to face him as I asked the question.
“I’m afraid you are a mystery. I am meant to know everything about any being who seeks the stone, but I know nothing of your identity.”
“Hm. Seems like a load of bullshit to me,” I deadpanned.
“We need to do this. We need to bring everyone back. I’ve spent the past five years trying to reverse the snap, and now I finally know how to fix it. Let me do it.” As Natasha spoke, she grabbed both of my hands in hers.
“And I’ve spent every day for the past five years training to do this. I wasn’t just practicing sorcery and talking to dead people for fun, Nat. All I wanted was to do better一 to fix this. If anyone is jumping off that cliff, it’s gonna be me.”
“No. Absolutely not. Neither of you is dying for that stone. I’ve done horrible things these past few years. I’ve killed...so many people. It should be me,” Clint says, and Natasha and I turn to face him, but one of her hands remains in mine.
“No way in hell, Clint. And not you either, Nat. Both of you guys have families. You’re not sacrificing yourselves. I won’t let you. And you can’t stop me even if you try.” Nat gives me a questioning look as I mention her family and I speak in her head ‘I know about them, Nat. And they need you. She needs her big sister.’
“What are you saying?” I can hear the anxiety lacing Nat’s words, and it causes a pit to form in my stomach.
“I think you know what I’m saying, Natty.”
“Then you don’t leave me much of a choice.” She shoots a Widow’s Bite toward me, but I stop it using energy manipulation without even having to lift a finger.
“You can’t beat me, Nat. Please, don’t fight me on this.”
“I call bullshit.” Out of the corner of my eye, I see Clint running toward the edge while we’re distracted, and I teleport in front of him, throwing him backward. I use mind control to force him to stay down. I sense Natasha running toward the edge behind me, and I teleport in front of her. I use energy manipulation to keep her in place, and I grab onto her biceps.
“I’m really sorry, Nat. I hate that I’m doing this to you, but I can’t let you throw yourself off a cliff for some stupid stone. Your life is worth so much more than that. You’re an amazing person, and your ledger was cleared of its red so long ago. Don’t let anyone tell you any different.”
“This is sounding an awful lot like a goodbye.”
“You can be sarcastic all you want, but I’m not walking out of this one, Natty.”
“Don’t do this. The team needs you.”
“No, they don’t, Nat, and we both know it. They need you.”
“And what if I need you?!”
“Well if that’s the case, you’ll figure it out, just like you always do. Don’t let something like this hold you back. Goodbye, Natasha Romanoff.” I kiss her cheek before turning around. I start walking towards the edge, but it quickly turns into a sprinting pace as I hear Nat screaming for me to stop. Just before I reach the edge, I lift the mind control from Clint and I release Nat, just in case it doesn’t automatically lift when I die. I push myself off the cliff, turning mid-jump so I’m not facing the ground. As I’m falling through the air, I see Clint holding Nat in his arms as her screams fill my ears. I hit the ground and everything goes black.
<//>
“Hello, y/n. It’s good to see you again.” I sat up and一 what the hell is that smell? “Ah, yes. That would be burning flesh. Welcome to Hell, darling.”
“Uh...what? Who are you?”
“Yes, I suppose I should explain, hm? I am Hecate, Goddess of一”
“Yeah, I know what you’re the goddess of. How did I get here?”
“I thought you were smarter than this. You died, obviously.”
“And went to Hell? Damn.”
“Oh, relax. Hell isn’t what the mortals think it is. This is the Underworld. All of the dead reside here. The bad people get punished, the good people don’t. Simple as that. We don’t have a lot of time, so I need to explain. I am cursed; I cannot leave the Underworld. However, my human embodiment can, and that is where you come into play. You hold all my power, and I can see you’ve been practicing, but you’ve never lived up to your full potential.”
“Hey! Rude!”
“Don’t interrupt. I didn’t allow you to live up to your full potential, not until we met, anyway.”
“And I had to die in order for that to happen?”
“Yes. I’m giving you all of my power, but I can still stop you if I ever need to. I know you don’t want to risk hurting the people you love, especially the redhead, but you need to trust yourself. Trust your powers. Have a little faith. You are a goddess, remember. Don’t let people forget it. That purple thumb is nothing compared to you, even with his colorful rocks. Your family needs you now. You must help them.”
“That’s it? Why do they need help? How will I know what to do?”
“I will always be there to help you, Y/N. You can handle this. This is nothing. You are part of me, just as I am part of you. You are my daughter, after all. I should know your capabilities better than anyone.”
“Wait, daughter?!”
“Oh, did I forget to mention that part? Oh well, it doesn’t matter right now, anyway. You need to go.”
“Go where?”
“Home, darling.”
The earth above us cracks open and I can hear faint sounds of fighting on the surface. I look at Hecate as she nods. Before I even realize I’m doing it, black mist surrounds my body and lifts me through the crack. I step out of the mist onto the ground and a staff appears in my right hand. I tap it once on the ground and my white suit is replaced by an all-black leather outfit that’s definitely made for a goddess. I smirk and make eye contact with the titan across the battlefield. His sickly creatures race toward me as they notice the new threat on the field. I summon an army of ghouls from the cracks in the earth. As the aliens and the undead clash, I teleport in front of Thanos.
“And who might you be, dear?” He acts confident, but I can sense his fear.
“I am Y/N, daughter of Hecate.” He tilts his head in a questioning manner. “Oh, did someone not study mythology? Hm, then let’s be blunt, shall we? I’m a goddess, ass-chin.” I throw my staff at his throat, but he catches it. He moves to swing his large sword at me, but I capture his arm in black mist. When he tries to move the other arm, I restrain that one, as well. “Well, that surely can’t be all you’ve got, hm? Pity, I thought it’d be more exciting than that.” If I were to look in a mirror at that moment, I would’ve noticed my ghostly pale skin, black eyes, and the raw power spreading through my veins like a black road-map.
“It’s not over yet, my dear child.” Before I can question the meaning of his words, an alien tosses him the gauntlet. It slides on his exposed hand, but I hold it open with dark magic. I look around and notice that the army of the undead is nowhere to be seen. My teammates are pinned down, even with the help of those who were snapped. There is a feeling in my gut and a voice in my head that tells me what I must do. I pull the gauntlet off his hand with black mist and slide my hand inside. I feel the power surging into my body. “What are you doing? That power will kill you!” Thanos sounds truly desperate.
“That’s cute. Truly, it is, but you can’t kill someone who’s already dead.” I close my hand and snap my fingers. His army fades to dust and he slumps to the ground before floating away with them. I drop the gauntlet to the ground and look around. Natasha runs toward me and throws her arms around my neck in a firm hug.
“Wha一what happened to you? How are you here? I thought you died!”
I wrap my arms around her waist and rest my chin on her shoulder before saying, “I did die. I am dead.”
She pulls away and looks at me from head to toe. “Well that explains why you’re so damn pale, but now I have so many more questions.”
“I am Hecate’s daughter, so I am technically a goddess, like her. I’m not sure if I was technically resurrected or not, but I can probably一”
She cut me off with a gentle yet passionate kiss. She pulls away and searches my eyes. “I’ve wanted to do that for a very long time,” she admits.
“Me too,” I breathe out.
“Yeah, I picked up on that. You’re not very discrete.” I laughed and a smirk spread across her face. “As sexy as this whole ‘powerful goddess’ thing is, am I going to get the old you back? You know, the one who blushes whenever I look at her? The one who’s, like, alive?”
I smile at her and glance down at her lips as a thick black mist appears behind me. I step backward into it as her face morphs into a look of confusion. She disappears from sight as a wall of black fills my vision, and a surge of power spreads throughout my body. I fall to my knees and the black cloud disappears. Natasha rushes over and kneels in front of me. “Are you okay? What the hell was that?”
“I’m not entirely sure, but I think I’m alive again.” I lift my head and meet her eyes.
“Your skin isn’t crazy pale anymore, and your eyes are their normal color again.”
“Sweet.”
“Cool.”
We both crack up and I lean my forehead against hers as our laughter fades.
Tony interrupts our moment of peace. “This is all good and dandy, but does someone wanna explain what the hell just happened?”
I raise my head and look at my teammates一 my family. “I kicked the purple thumb’s ass. That’s what happened.” I can feel a warm presence in my heart, and I know that my mother is with me.
“Yes, yes, I noticed. I also noticed a bunch of demons. Care to explain that one?”
“They weren’t demons...they were just...the souls...of dead people. I can summon the dead. You knew that.”
“Uh, I definitely didn’t know that.” I laugh and shake my head at the eccentric man.
I stand up, pulling Natasha with me, and bring her into another embrace. “I’m really glad you’re okay, Natty,” I whisper in her ear before pressing a delicate kiss to her temple.
A/N: I literally had this completely finished and edited over a month ago and I hadn’t posted it yet soooooo... idk here it is

falling for the captain | part 15.
Summary: Captain Y/N L/N. Leader of the Avengers on Earth-563, not really a family or team strictly just coworkers. A lot of responsibility for someone only nineteen. What happens when the Captain finds herself on “Earth Earth” in the compound of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes. Stuck on Earth for the time being, Y/N sees what these Avengers are about. And Captain America finds himself falling for this leader, even though her age is throwing him… that and the fact no one knows if she’ll head back to Earth-563 the minute she can.
Warnings: AGE GAP (clear from the summary, it’s a young reader but legal),
Pairing: Steve Rogers x reader
Word Count: 2.3k
Previous Part | (Series Masterlist)
You met Steve outside the building. He had just finished leading another counseling session. Some of the regular visitors you recognized waved to you as they left. You gave him a quick peck on the cheek and hopped onto the back of the motorcycle that you still weren’t a hundred percent in love with.
The compound still looked the same when you guys pulled up. That was nice, at least one thing was still the same. You entered just as Nat was throwing a dry sandwich back onto her plate.
“I’d offer to make you dinner but that would be more depressing,” Steve joked.
“He’s not lying,” you added, hoping to gain a smile from her.
Nat smiled a little. “You guys here for free laundry?”
“And to see a friend.”
“Clearly, your friend is fine, you two.”
“You know, we saw a pod of whales coming over the bridge,” Steve said.
“In the Hudson?”
“Fewer ships, cleaner water—”
“If you’re about to tell me to look on the bright side, I’ll throw the sandwich at you.”
You two laughed before taking seats at the table. Steve apologized, force of habit from being a counselor. It wasn’t hard to see the toll this was taking on Nat. Some of you quit the Avengers life to try and move on. Try and fix yourselves. But some of you stuck through and it wasn’t easy. You wanted her to get a new life, find peace but at the same time this was Natasha. Rest wasn’t in her vocabulary. You two watched Nat tilt her head. You mimicked and then looked behind to see if there was something she was looking at behind you.
“When did that happen?”
“What?”
Nat pointed to you. “That’s an engagement ring, isn’t it?”
“Oh yeah. Two days ago,” you said looking at the ring.
“Wasn’t supposed to,” Steve muttered.
“Are you still bitter that I ruined your surprise?”
“Damn near five years together, should’ve seen this coming,” Nat chuckled. A notification popped up on the hologram and she swiped it without really paying attention.
“Hi! Hello? Is anyone home?” a voice called out over the intercom. “This is Scott Lang. We met a few years ago at the airport!”
The three of you turned towards the hologram screen. You had never met Scott Lang but it was a name you had heard. Ant-man. Someone who you guys had on the list of Avengers that got snapped. But here he was on the screen, standing on the front door. Natasha quickly pressed the button to let Scott in. You guys watched him pace back and forth in attempts to collect his thoughts.
“Have you three ever studied quantum physics?” Scott asked.
“Only enough to make conversation,” Nat said.
“That’ll do. Right, five years ago, before… Thanos, I was in a place called the quantum realm. It’s like its own microscopic universe. Hope she was my… she was supposed to pull me out but then Thanos and I got stuck there.”
“I’m sorry,” Nat said. “That must have been a long five years.”
“But that’s the thing. It wasn’t five years, for me it was five hours… this sounds crazy.”
“No, no,” you reassured him. “I’m from a different universe where our time is faster than this one.”
“Good then you’re following me. Time works differently in the quantum realm, we don’t know how to navigate right now but what if we did? I haven’t been able to stop thinking about that. What if there was a way we could enter the quantum realm at a certain point and time and exit at another? Like before Thanos.”
You, Steve, and Nat looked at each other.
“You’re suggesting a time machine?” Steve asked.
“Um, yeah. A time machine.” Scott scratched the back of his head. “Never mind. It’s crazy.”
“Scott, I get emails from a raccoon. Nothing’s crazy anymore,” Nat said.
“So who do we talk to about this?”
Just then your phone rang. You answered it to hear Tony screaming in your ear about posting a photo of the engagement ring but not telling anybody.
“Tony, do you have room for four more at lunch… we’ll be there tomorrow.”
You showed Scott to your previous floor. He took Bucky’s room. Steve had gone back to get the pets and clothes for the both of you. Scott asked if he could change. He didn’t have to but he was very aware of the connection between you and Bucky, it felt almost disrespectful to just put on his clothes. You nodded and left Scott to unwind and wash up.
Steve came back. Goose stepped in as if she had never left the compound, Spark was more apprehensive. He slowly stepped into the house, the poor baby wasn’t very comfortable in new spaces. But once Natasha entered the common room, Spark walked up and sniffed her hands, the scent of peanut butter still lingering. You and Steve looked at each other. You might have just lost your dog to Nat but right now it seemed like she needed it. Spark went to Nat’s floor, giving you and Steve approximately thirty seconds of pets before going with the redhead.
You two went into your old room. You had packed up most of your stuff from Steve’s room, but your room was left virtually untouched. You both flopped on the bed. Steve rolled over and looked at the mural he did years ago on the other wall. He chuckled.
“What? What’s funny?”
“The day I finished that mural was the day we fought and I kissed you… and realized I was head over heels in love with you.”
“And ran.”
“… and ran.”
“Baltimore Harbor. My lucky boardwalk.” You looked at the mural.
“Hmm?”
“Gave me my powers on 563 that brought me to you guys. Forced you to hang out with me and paint it. Got me a ring.”
Steve laughed as you shoved your hand in his face. He grabbed your hand and laced his fingers with yours.
“Will you paint me another one? Another mural?”
“You liked it that much?”
“For a supposed hobby, you really are an artist Steve.”
The two of you got ready to sleep. You left the door open in case Spark was going to come to your floor. Goose had shown him how to press elevator buttons in your apartment building, especially since Spark could actually reach the buttons easier than the cat.
~~
You had no clue what made Tony and Pepper leave the heart of New York to live in the woods. The car slowly rolled to a stop in front of Tony’s fancy cabin. Morgan was out of the house and in your arms at the speed of light. She had on a blue Iron-Man helmet and little Iron Man light-up glove that she pointed at you. You held up your hands in surrender.
“Come to my birthday or be disintegrated.”
“Alright Morgana, I’ll be there for your birthday.”
“Is that a promise?” She lifted the helmet off her head so you could see her face.
“Cross my heart.”
You picked her up and walked to where Tony was standing on the porch. Steve wouldn’t admit it but since your blunder of a baby comment he had been watching every interaction between you and children in a different light. Steve was from the 40s. He was still old-fashioned, still traditional. Still dreamed of the normal life with a wife and kids and dog. He wasn’t really sure if it was something you wanted, not with the same intensity as him.
Tony looked at the serious faces of you four.
“I’m guessing this isn’t a friendly luncheon, is it Short-stack?”
“Sorry, Tony.”
~~
“You guys are talking about messing with the Planck scale, triggering Deutsch Proposition. You do this… you’re not coming home,” Tony said.
“But I did.”
“No, Scott. You accidentally survived. That’s different. Billion-to-one cosmic fluke.”
“So is a portal from a parallel universe” you pressed. Tony tight-lipped.
“I’ve got a good thing going here. If there’s no logical way for me to safely execute said time heist, I’m not doing it.” Tony started to walk inside. “Congrats on the engagement Steve, Short-stack. Table’s still set for seven if you want to stay.”
You guys stayed on the porch.
“What are we going to do now? We need him, we can’t stop.”
“We’ll need a bigger brain,” Steve said.
~~
Bruce never video called so meeting him as a big green Hulk was different. Especially when this green giant could say more than just ‘Hulk Smash’. You weren’t hungry watching Bruce eat the enormous amount of eggs in the bowl in front of him. You were positive none of the other patrons were needed for this diner to stay in business.
“I know, it’s crazy. I’m wearing shirts now!” Bruce said.
“Yeah… How? Why?” Scott asked.
“Stopped trying to shut the big guy out. Best decision ever, spent eighteen months in the gamma lab… is that a ring? Congrats you two!”
Some kids came up to Bruce asking for a picture. You guys watched Bruce interact with them. It was clear The Hulk had become a celebrity. Bruce was officially living his best life and you weren’t sure if he would want to take a risk. After all, Tony didn’t. But after hearing you guys talk some more, he shocked you and agreed. The Hulk might be a celebrity but Bruce Banner was still an Avenger. Still family.
~~
Testing time travel was something you never thought you’d be doing. You sat in a chair next to Bruce as he started up the machine. You used to love hanging out with Tony and Bruce in the lab— and Shuri when you were in Wakanda— even if you understood absolutely nothing, it was fascinating. You watched as each test run brought back Scott but not normal adult Scott. He was old, and then a baby, and then a teenager, and then old again.
“Bruce! Bring him back,” you said.
“I’m trying.”
Twice more as a baby and finally adult Scott was in front of you. Visibly shaken at ageing so much in such a short amount of time. You rolled your eyes and walked outside while Bruce was celebrating what he considered “a minor victory”. This was going to be a lot harder than you thought, which considering you already thought it was impossible was a feat. You looked out at the compound. If this worked, if you brought everyone back would you come back?
Would you and Steve move back in? If it worked, naturally you would go back to the Avengers lifestyle without a doubt. Spark would probably continue to enjoy the compound if you stayed. The screeching of tires shook you from your thoughts as a car abruptly stopped in front of you. Tony rolled down the window.
“Short-stack with a sad face? Let me guess, he turned into a baby.”
“Among other things.”
“EPR Paradox,” Tony said as he stepped out of the car. “Instead of pushing Lang through time, you could push time through him. Tricky, dangerous. Someone could’ve warned you against it.”
“Okay, Tony you did. We get it. So you just want us to give up?”
Tony just looked at you.
“What?”
“Parallel universe, Short-stack. You were right, portal to that’s damn near impossible. Yet I’m looking at you in front of me. So time travel, not so impossible. Not so impossible to navigate either. Here, fully functioning time-space GPS. Should fix the problem.”
“Tony…”
“Wait. So we get the stones, okay. But I have priorities. I have to keep what I have at all costs. We don’t change right now, we just bring them back. And maybe not die trying.”
You nodded in understanding. Morgan and Pepper were his world now. That was something you respected and Tony was right. You wanted everyone back but you wouldn’t ruin his now. Tony walked to the trunk of his car and pulled out Steve’s shield.
“Tell your boyfriend not to lose it again. Had to wrestle Morgan for it, she’s been using it as a sled.”
Tony had a frown on his face as he watched you reach for the shield. Your hands were still trembling. The last time he saw that was when he was first saved from space. When you guys first tried to find Thanos before Thor killed him. When the raccoon revealed how much you thought it was your fault you couldn’t stop Thanos. How you could withstand the radiation of the stones, weren’t affected like the others but couldn’t reach the gauntlet in time. Couldn’t stop the snap. And ever since then your hands shook. You couldn’t pick up anything that activated your powers without shaking.
Tony wasn’t happy about that. He thought you and Steve had moved on the best. You had pets, a new house, you just finished school. You two had taken the most normal lifestyle but the PTSD with you was obvious.
It was obvious as he watched your hands tremor as you hesitantly reached towards the shield. And more obvious when Steve had come outside and his hand was immediately on your back as he reached for the shield so you wouldn’t have to touch it. That’s when Tony saw the bracelets, on Steve’s wrists instead of yours. You pulled away from him and headed inside, visibly upset.
“Her hands still…”
“Believe it or not, that’s the best (Y/N)’s ever been,” Steve answered his question. “She’s normally shaking a lot harder.”
“She knows it’s not her fault right? We all failed.”
“You try telling doll that, Tony. Anytime I bring it up it just starts a fight.”
“Maybe Short-stack should sit this one out then. We’ll let the rest of the team cover it… we are getting the whole team back?”
“Uh, we’re working on it.”

Hey! Could you do headcanons for the avengers (I dont care who) with a reader who is really quiet and shy/smart at first but the once you get to know them they are a complete dumbass? Like 3 am random conversations, random energy bursts, blurting out stupid stuff, just crazy and funny in general.
apologies for the late response! i haven’t written for marvel in so long, i was trying to remember how i used to :) i hope you enjoy these and sorry if these aren’t characters you were hoping for
Bruce Banner
When he first met you, he was attracted to your closed-off quiet personality, always wanting to get to know you so he could dissect you bit-by-bit.
Taking that into consideration, he preferred to have you by his side, you were a nice change of pace from the green monster within him, and the annoying sound of Tony’s blabbering.
If in any case you were to bump into him, you would only mumble a quiet hello, wave, and be off on your way.
But when he sees the side of you that he thinks no one else has, he’s even more attracted to your person.
In the midst of a “avengers night” where tony would gather everyone for a big sleepover, he, and everyone else in the room finally got to experience you for the very first time.
“Haha suck it losers, shy guy totally just kicked your asses!”
At your sudden burst, they turned quiet, blinking from one another, gaping like a fish out of water before your smile dropped and they decided to yell at each other.
“WHAT WAS THAT???”
Peter Parker
Jokes are his love language, really no shame when he says his favorite cheesy lines. I mean, have you seen his corny shirts?
He’s wanted to befriend you for a while, whenever he bumps into you at the compound he’s pouring out his heart on how cool he thinks your hero suit is, or how cool you are in general.
He always thought you hated him. This is only because you’ve only ever responded to Sam or Bucky, sometimes even Happy. But never him.
So when you two are sent on a mission, the cliche motel who only provided one bed, he’s stiff as a board and contemplating whether or not he should just make a hammock from his webs.
“Peter, are you still awake?” He’d mumble a quiet yes even though he was sleeping before you shook him. He doesn’t even register or connect the voice to you, to be honest, he thinks he’s hallucinating. “Did you know that dragonflies have shovel shaped penises?”
His eyes would be blown wide before he sits up quickly, turning his head at you before looking around the room. “They- they have what?” He heard you yeah but, he wants to hear your voice again.
“Dragonflies have shovel shaped penises.”
Scott Lang
Another connoisseur of jokes, no i do not know how to spell connoisseur, thank you autocorrect.
Anyways, Scott was used to the semi-closed off work partner, he worked with hope after all. And even though he respected the boundaries you had, he really wanted to be your friend.
Definitely the type of guy to cling to your shoulder, he’d turn tiny and sit on your shoulder, or if you had a tiny pocket on your shirt, he’d nestle himself in there.
He’d find you slumped against the couch at the compound, blowing air out of your mouth every ten seconds, a clear sign that you were bored.
He’d summon a bunch of ants to the table, and make them steal a worm so he can pretend he’s on a mechanical bull.
“Scott, that’s so cool! Do you think you can get a stag beetle? Or is that too much for the ants?”
Doesn’t respond which makes you worry but, he jumps for joy when he sees you laugh at the ants carrying an overturned beetle.
Shuri
I know she isn’t technically an avenger but she’s one of my favs!!
So you two would probably meet after the funeral, she would see you sitting alone, possibly near the dock, and try to befriend you.
Doesn’t take offense when you don’t respond verbally, a funeral just happened after all, it’s normal.
If you two were to ever cross paths again, it could be at the California branch of the technology lab, and she’d be surprised to see you there, nearly jamming the screen full of mathematical and scientific equations that even made her head hurt.
Would attempt to befriend you even more and if she ever passed that line, she would bring you to Wakanda to see technological advancements there.
In shock when you look down at the city in awe, jumping up and down like a kid in a candy store, though it does boost her ego when you start to question all the advancements she played a major role in.
