yk there's something i've been thinking abt after seeing spoilers for the rest of the chapters from portrait of a girl arc, and i think ban and shinobu (specially her) might develop something similar to what matoba has with natsume but with tanuma

#natsume yuujinchou spoilers #just in case #specially early on matoba bc he was so menacing #like the first reocurring antagonist was him #but also i feel like his relationship with natsume shifted quite a bit already #natsume is still suspicious and uncomfortable around him but during portrait of a girl they were even holding a conversation #without natsume feeling afraid or wanting to strangle him lol #i do think midorikawa would do that kind of parallel #and it makes sense shinobu would be interested in tanuma after learning abt his ability regarding exorcism tools #but the story is from natsume's pov so idk if sensei would go for that?#to have a new “antagonist” be more interested in a side character yk #she's just been paralleling the matoba sibs so much i cant help but think that #also tanuma's “ability” being more touched upon during chapters/arcs where a collector of exorcisms tools is introduced/involved? c'mon #also shinobu being rejected within the family bc of a lack of power beside whatever tanuma and natsume have going on #makes sense to me and i also just want it to happen too lol
