words to use that don’t demonize personality disorders!
It seems that it’s becoming more and more common for people to label others and others’ behavior as “narcissistic”, “psychopathic”, “sociopathic”, etc., especially on platforms like TikTok, where lingo spreads quickly. People associate negative qualities with these real disorders and use them to criticize or insult other neurotypicals. These words are used as a way to instantly show that someone is a “bad” or “evil” person. In reality, having a personality disorder does not make you a bad person at all! It is damaging to these communities to continue spreading this dangerous rhetoric. People with these conditions are already more likely to experience abuse and ostracization along with the mental health issues they may go through.
So, this is my list of words or phrases that people often mean instead of naming a condition. You can use these instead of referring to a personality disorder like the ones above and more. Feel free to add your own words! (Note: I do not have any of these conditions. Please correct me if I say something incorrect or offensive!)
This is a pretty long post, so I’ve put everything below the cut.
Crazy/Insane: These words aren’t truly connected to any specific disorder, but are still used to hurt people with personality disorders. They are very ingrained into our vocabulary and can be hard to remove. I’m currently working on it myself!
What you mean: wild, ridiculous, unlikely, wack, strange, odd, absurd, silly, preposterous, ludicrous
Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD): People often use phrases like “I’m/that’s so OCD” to indicate someone/thing that is clean or organized, sometimes to an extreme.
What you mean: organized, clean/cleanliness, neat, hates mess, hates germs, healthy, coordinated, sanitized, tidy, orderly
Antisocial Personality Disorder (ASPD): People usually are referring to this disorder when they say words like “sociopath(ic)”, “psychopath(ic)”, “psycho”, and “psychotic”. This is used to indicate general “badness” and can be used to describe someone who has committed violent actions.
What you mean: violent, oppressive, unfriendly, mean, rude, unsympathetic, unkind, cold, unlikeable, bully, brutal, ruthless, murderous, cruel, barbaric, savage, harsh, threatening
Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD): I’ve seen this one all over recently. People use “narcissist” to instantly paint someone as a “bad” person. They usually use this term when the person is manipulative and/or egotistical.
What you mean: manipulative, egotistical, self-obsessed, uncaring, callous, calculating, devious, has ulterior motives, controlling, selfish, vain, shallow, self-centered, conceited, full of themself
Schizoid Personality Disorder: This one is hard to characterize, as “schizophrenic” is used to describe many types of behaviors. It is generally used to refer to someone they think is “crazy”.
What you mean: unpredictable, irrational, illogical, eccentric, senseless, raving, raging, distraught, wild, frenzied
The R Slur: This harmful term is falling out of favor as the autistic community continues to advocate against people using it. People who still use it are usually aware that it is not a good word to use. However, I thought I’d include it anyway.
What you mean: autistic (if the person in question is genuinely on the spectrum, autistic is a perfectly fine label to use), disabled (same note), off-putting, abnormal, atypical, unusual, not going along with societal norms, bad decision, disagreeable, irregular, peculiar, out of the ordinary, bizarre, uncommon, unexpected
Bipolar Disorder: People usually use “bipolar” as a way to describe someone who has mood swings or is acting irrationally. They may also say things like “maniac” or “maniacal” to mean the same thing or to indicate violence.
What you mean: irrational, illogical, moody, acting strange, unreasonable, silly, senseless, foolish, absurd, impractical, volatile, inconsistent, erratic, unreliable, temperamental, fiery, emotional, impulsive
Many of these terms are used as synonyms but have slightly different connotations for people who misunderstand these conditions. Sometimes people refer to others as “borderline” (borderline personality disorder [BPD]) to mean the same thing as “psychopath” or “bipolar”. Meanings can fluctuate and mean many different adjectives. Please use words and phrases like I have listed instead of continuing to stigmatize and demonize these real human beings who are completely deserving of love, respect, and dignity. Add your own words that you like to use (my favorite are wild and ridiculous) in the notes!

If Bill really was all over someone, then I mean it's his business and A's. If they have that kinda relationship and she wants to put up with it's on her to stay and keep popping out babies. Maybe it's always been that way and now she's not wanting that, he still does, and she's struggling with what to do. Maybe that explains all her silence. Who knows. I don't like A one bit after all she's done. And tbh she gives off a weird narcissstic vibe, even in these baby shower Mother Blessings stuff. But if Bill stays and she stays, even though EW gross, all we can hope for is she stays quiet and out of his fandom.
The rumours of them having an open relationship are not new ... We really dont know what really goes on behind close doors.
Someone saw something and shared it with us. Thats it. She never said what was the status of his main relationship.
I just hope both are discreet enough to not leave any trace of whatever it's goin on over there.

Chapter 2: Realizations again...
Dear peaches,
Today has been a pretty good productive day. This morning I did my devotion which are reading and studying God’s Word and eventually applying it in life. That is my daily bread. I love reading God’s word because there is so much wisdom in it. And this is God talking to me and his will for me is in his word.
I also joined my friend on twitch named Kenny. But I think he’s like “I have to do this” like a duty or something or I don’t know maybe I felt like he’s embarrassed that he has a few views. I don’t even care about that. I just wanted to be there for him and that’s it. And be a friend. Because I love being a friend to someone. You know just being there for them makes me happy. I love to see people happy.
I also did some Stardew Valley earlier and I’m already in my 2nd or 3rd year there. I attended a Jellyfish festival there and it was awesome and I love it. I also gave gifts to the villagers there. I just realized though, that game taught me lessons in life as well. Like knowing a person (know their dislikes and likes) because to be honest, no man is an island. You need others too. And not just “need them” but more on “give and take” be there for others and in turn they will also be there for you. More on “intentionally loving” them.
So mom and I had a fight earlier cause she’s getting on my nerves. She doesn’t listen. I tend to listen to her more recently, but it’s so frustrating when she doesn’t listen to me when I wanted to “express my thoughts and what I feel”. In their minds “we are the parents and children should shut up like they’re supposed to be” to be honest though, their parenting sucks. Why? because they have this thinking that “parents are always right” and they manipulate us siblings to make us do whatever they want. It’s just so frustrating and sad to have parents like that to be honest. I feel like I wanted to be heard but no, they won’t listen. I feel so tired, sad and frustrated. There is no give and take. Though I am guilty sometimes, I know for myself that I am being entitled. I wanted to communicate, but how am I gonna communicate if there is just “one-way communication”. Also sometimes, I am also guilty that I don’t practice “Grace” inside our home. I think I should keep practicing it too. Life is too short to hate people. After all, all of us make mistakes and aren’t perfect. Also, show the “Grace” that God has given and showed to me.
Also, today I talked to my Indian friend named Homant. I talked to him about my story with the Korean guy that became my boyfriend last April. I told him my story and he told his story too. I was really hurt though from that past relationship BUT man did it taught me a lot of lesson and I ended up being thankful from that past relationship. I was serious. But the guy wasn’t even serious to me at all. It pretty sucks. I realized that I was immature too at that time not just him. I had a rough heart break. But I got over with it slowly everyday. :) “Players only love you when they’re playing” the tile of the song is Dreams by Fleet woods. That is so true. But anyway, life goes on, so I have to move on as well. Not regret about it because I don’t want my future decisions affect from what I decided from the past and let others choose for me (Because you’ve lost your trust in your decision making skills and you let others decide for your life choices something like that). So, I will learn from it, move on, and not regret about it.
I am currently listening to Coldplay songs hahaha cause I just feel like I need sad songs to process my emotions. Cause its normal, I’ve been hurt. But that doesn’t mean I should dwell on it, rather I will process it.
That’s it for now. :) bye peaches! See you tomorrow.

I'm at a point in my life where I don't care about people who judge me. I'm going to do whatever makes me happy. I'm too busy manifesting and enjoying. those who judge don't have the best interest for the other person. They are just narcissists people that we can't even try to defend ourselves from because, they know we are right and they just want us to go crazy trying to prove it. those people are self serving, manipulative, evil assholes with no soul. What they think of us is a reflection of themselves. Cut them off you dont need to prove yourself to no one. Loki episode 4: Mobius calls Loki a narcissist and Loki repeats it as if he agrees.
Loki stans on tumblr: angry and railing against Mobius (and the writers) for inaccurately calling Loki a narcissist and even getting Loki to seemingly agree with him.
Me, a Tony Stark stan: *nods* "yeah, man, I feel ya. Welcome to our world. Pull up a chair. We've got t-shirts that say, 'our fav is not a narcissist and fuck you for thinking he is.' We're willing to share."
Seriously, those two scenes were almost direct parallels. Both of my favorite MCU characters have now been called "narcissists" by agents/analysts who are supposedly "excellent at reading people." And both Tony and Loki repeat it as if they agree. But both Black Widow and Mobius are idiots. Or the people at Marvel Studios just have zero idea of what a narcissist actually is. I wasn't even bothered by Mobius calling Loki a narcissist (other than to scoff and roll my eyes) because I've been down this road before. Just because someone says it, doesn't make it true. And anyway, people throw the word "narcissist" around far too easily in real life too, so it makes sense that fictional characters would be equally bad at using the term correctly.

[Using "narcissist" as an insult is not as the same as calling people retards. ...] The problem here is random people playing armchair psychologist even though they don't have the knowledge. Someone can have narcissstic traits and they still might not have the disorder.

ENDGAME ASK!!! SPOILERS!!!!!! how did you feel about steve ending up in the past with peggy, apparently leaving bucky to winter soldier and hydra to fester in shield for seventy years? that's the part i'm struggling most with, how utterly ooc that is for him, yet it's what we (apparently) got. if you have any wisdom to share on alternate interpretations or something, i'd be happy to hear them, i don't want to be as sad over this movie as i am.
HEY I’M SORRY I DIDN’T ANSWER THIS EARLIER I’M SLOWLY CRAWLING OUT FROM UNDER A SELF-IMPOSED ENDGAME SPOILERS BAN.
So basically: Yeah that does seem OOC. Like, so OOC that when The Roommate initially suggested that interpretation, post our first viewing, I did the internal version of a spit take while screaming YOU THINK HE DID WHAT????? I might have actually laughed in her face, which would be hella rude of me.
I have since learned that apparently my immediate train of thought was not as universal as I first believed. So.
Here was what I thought happened re: That Ending.
As soon as Steve didn’t appear on the Quantum Tunnel platform, I thought Uh Oh, something went wrong.
and then! mere moments later!
“did something go wrong or did something go right” sam asks.
“well after I put the stones back, I thought… maybe i’ll try some of that life tony was telling me to get.”
you know what that statement tells us nothing about? whether anything went wrong.
to me, the very fact that he didn’t turn up on the pad of the quantum tunnel suggests that something sure as shit didn’t go right. And that tracks. when has anything ever gone right for Steve, like, ever?
And if something did go wrong, you know who he’s absolutely not going to say a word of this to? Samuel Thomas Wilson, who is about to have the best day of his damn life, who is about to be presented with the Shield, and told he is the chosen successor of Captain America. You think Steve Rogers is going to shit on Sam’s moment by describing in gruesome detail how everything went tits up after he went through the Quantum Tunnel?
You know what absolutely IS in character? Steve Rogers making light of his own troubles so as not to impose on someone else.
haaaaaaaaaaaaa (kill me)
anyway.
Near as I can tell, Steve is either A) coming back from a multiverse branch or B) has somehow been lying low in his own timeline.
if A) The Multiverse Scenario, then why on god’s green earth WOULDN’T he take all his future knowledge, present it directly to Peggy Carter and say “this is what happened in my timeline and it would dishonest not to share that with you, the person whomst i trust most in all the world. So. what should we do?”
at which point alternaPeggy becomes the benevolent behind-the-scenes dictator we all deserve, alternaBucky gets rescued before he can ever be brainwashed, and alternaSteve gets defrosted and spends 80 years having weird, deeply narcissstic pants feelings about his own ass (so basically @cesperanza ‘s The Fifties, but with twice as much steve.)
Is this wish fulfillment? Sure. You know what else is wish fulfillment? A magic serum that fixes all your chronic illnesses. and it’s HARMLESS wish fulfillment! Wish fulfillment that might even make that timeline marginally better than his native one! Isn’t that the american dream? to move to a new place and maybe make it marginally better?
None of Steve’s Wacky Multiverse Adventures would erase the accomplishments of his own peggy carter! Who lived a full life without Steve! nothing can change that! And it won’t hurt his own bucky barnes either! Who is still snug in his own corner of the multiverse, waiting for Steve to finish getting some hands-on therapy by (one assumes) punching Arnim Zola over and over and over again.
BUT! maybe I’m wrong.
Maybe it is supposed to be B) The One Timeline Scenario, and he’s been in this timeline all along, just lying low (THAT MEANS NO SEEING PEGGY, STEVEN) ignoring Hydra in SHIELD, and Bucky being tortured, and bombs dropping and assassinations and so on and on and on. If that’s true, if something happened to prevent him coming back through the quantum tunnel and he got stuck in his own past, he had to lie low in order to get back to this bucky, which means that Steve has spent the last eighty years in enforced quiet, hands literally tied, because doing anything would risk catapulting himself into an alternate timeline where he would never get to see his Bucky ever again ever.
haaaaaaaaaAAAAAAHHHHH KILL ME
@gracelesso i believe quite likes option b and so does The Roommate, but it makes me SO SAD i can BARELY FUNCTION so i live in denial and Choose Option A.
AND OH HEY IN CASE YOU’RE WONDERING WHERE THE CREATORS™ COME DOWN ON THIS PARTICULAR ISSUE?
The Russos believe in Option A, while Markus and McFeely apparently subscribe to Option B, which i’m pretty sure means we can all feel justified believing whatever best pleases us.

This. If Loki is bad and she is Loki too, why wasnt she too kicked into crotch, didnt go thru "therapy" with Mobius or Ravonna, didnt have her crimes listed, wasnt forced to say she is a narcissst, etc? Double standards much? @ripfic
Sylvie is something of a female power fantasy similar to how Tony is a male power fantasy.
Unlike Natasha or Gamora who have also have been through traumatic upbringings that have harden them into badass action ladies Sylvie is "survivor" not someone trained to be weapon against her will. No see she ran away and escaped her captors and got to be a cool fighter and smart person on her own and never had to learn for someone else. Also unlike them she never has to feel guilt for actions because she only did what she had to. Sylvie trauma is used to validate everything she's done.
Compare her also to someone like Captain Marvel or even Wonder Woman from DC. Women who have been granted extraordinary power but use it to help others for altruistic reason. Sylvie's reasons are ultimately selfish but they get be framed as good because the people she fights are bad actually. So even if she doesn't care anyone but herself she still gets be the hero because her selfishness is really good for everyone in the long run.
Sylvie gets to be better than the already popular male character and just by nature of being a she makes her more special than him. Being a woman makes her better but also she's the only one which is just so unique and cool. Also unlike Loki she's inherently good and probably only ever got taken by the TVA because she was too well adjusted and good.
Sylvie never gets beat up or has to face consequences or question her own actions. Oh, but if she does feel bad for her actions the audience should really feel bad for her because she only did a bad thing because she had it so rough and that's why she did the bad thing that's not really bad actually.
🐍anon
Ah that scene with Mobius when she's telling him they hunted her like a dog always baffles me. She's acting all uppity and like she has the moral ground over what Mobius and the TVA have done to her and others, then when Mobius rightfully comes back at her with "by the way,you did some annihilating too" her answer is "I did what I had to do".
What a hypocrite.
I think Carol is a good example (and not only because I love her... well maybe a little). She was taken from Earth, sent to Hala, had her body violated by an injection of Kree blood into her system without her knowledge, she had to carry an implant that suppressed her powers and had Yon-Rogg lie to her for years. She had a right to be mad but she didn't take it on everyone around her, she went straight to the people who had hurt her and gave them hell (and sent that idiot of Yon-Rogg back to Hala. Have I said I love that she doesn't fight him? Because oh I love that scene).
She doesn't meet with the Skrulls and claims she had it harder than them, she doesn't need to position herself above anybody, not even when Fury betrays her and calls Shield she holds it against him... she accepts he made a mistake then fully cooperates with him.
The fact that Sylvie never faces any punishment by the TVA once she's captured is what baffles me the most. While Loki is being kicked and punched and humiliated for the only crime of escaping the TVA, the woman who had spent years killing their precious minutemen is just... chilling in a room? On her own? And when B-15 goes to her she has the guts to act all smug: "oh what's your name, I don't remember, it's a number" (and to make matters worse 2 minutes later she's all "we're the same" 😂😂🤦).
I've seen women badly written in fiction before but damn....

Yes Yes Yes! I can’t stand how society ignores male victims of sexuall assault/rape in films/books/shows/plays/etc. How many comedies we saw wher men are assaulted for laughs?! Or even if its “bad thing” they just shrug it of on go on - nothing happen cause - hur dur - I’m a manly man. I remember watching TV show “Grimm” - it was great show, funny, adventorous, with cool characters. But then: an actres got pregnant. They ended a season whit her character drinking a potion that changed her in main hero girlfriend and f*cking him (to take away his “magic”). OK - she was “perfect evil” in that story: selfish, shallow, narcissstic and crule. But, the next season: she’s pregnant with his child, she needs saving so she comes to him and... he helps her, he accepts rape-child. Fast forword: they end up as loving family! He falls in love with her - his rapist, and they end up together... And noone in the crew noticed how sick this plotline is!
Sexual Assault in Harry Potter
I’ve seen plenty of debate about whether Umbridge was raped by centaurs and whether Ariana Dumbledore was raped by her attackers. But I don’t think it’s appropriate to speculate whether certain sexual assaults occurred without acknowledging that there already are two sexual assaults that have occurred in canon. I think the reason these sexual assaults are overlooked is because the victims are male.
Lord Voldemort was conceived because his mother, Merope Gaunt, used a love potion (a magical date rape drug) to get Tom Riddle, Sr. to want to be with her. If you don’t think this was rape, think about what you would call a man drugging a woman to sleep with her and getting her pregnant. Yet we’re supposed to sympathize with Merope and look down on Tom for abandoning his wife and child even though his wife raped him. We’re also supposed to think that Voldemort would have turned out fine if he was raised by his rapist mother. I don’t think so.
The other canon instance of sexual assault is when James Potter forcibly exposes Snape’s underwear and possibly removes his underwear, exposing his genitals. Think about how you would react if a boy exposed a girl’s underwear and then her genitals. I don’t think you would call it a prank or tell her to get over it. I don’t think you would blame her for lashing out and saying something she didn’t mean either.
Sexual assault isn’t any less serious when the victim is male. If you’re hesitant to call sexual assault of a male sexual assault, think about what you would call the assault if it happened to a woman.
P.S.: I don’t think Ariana’s attackers raped her. I think they tried to burn her like the witch she was. I’m also very hesitant to believe that Umbridge was raped by centaurs.
