He and Nanakuma had done nearly everything together. They were more than comfortable sharing their private thoughts with one another, from observations and opinions to comments and even dreams. They had a connection to one another that was unlike any other—

—That is, until Rokurou developed the Suimon.

Clearing his throat, the scarlet-eyed male continued, “I’m not sure if he remembers them, but we did share many secrets when we were still close.” Such as his frequent dreams of the man with eyes the color of liquid gold. Rokurou didn’t have a doubt in his mind that the dream was meant to set him on his proper path—he knew those amber eyes well now.

Yes, the reasoning he’d spoken aloud for choosing to serve the younger Sanada brother had been due to the poor state of his hair and clothing, and though those things had been a part of it, they weren’t the entirety of it. No… it had been those topaz orbs that he’d seen so many times before. Those beautiful and intriguing eyes that even to this day could still leave Rokurou breathless…
