Sorry, I'm a little emotional right now and am about to be effusive and thankful for a bit...

Since we're getting closer to 2024, I've been reflecting. I think I've probably written about 200,000+ words in the past year alone.

It's more than I've had the creative energy to produce in a long time, and that includes the two and a half years in grad school. (Though to be fair, one of those years was 2020 lol.)

But I genuinely don't think I would have written half as much if not for the wonderful support and feedback I've gotten on Tumblr and Ao3.

To all the amazing people I've been able to "meet" and interact with on here (shoutouts below), your kindness and encouragements have helped me — whether you knew it or not — through stress and grief and moments of apathy, and times where I didn't feel passionate about my craft.

I've also had my original book set aside for a while because I literally didn't have the mental strength to be creative. Jumping into Tumblr has revived that passion for me.

I think it's also made me a better writer (practice makes progress, after all). And for sure, it's made me richer in friends. 💕💕

1) i’ve had my tumblr account for exactly two days, and although i’ve wanted to have one for a while osas was the straw that broke my willpower so i could follow you for details and gorgeous fanart

okay so starting w the foundations even if the au isn't based in britain, he has a thick english accent (never erasing hiroki's Londoner voice) but the reason's for it can get more and more ridiculous.

one of his favourite celebrities is english, so he's picked up the accent to be more like them. growing up his mom used to only put on english cartoons so he came into school the first day saying shit like "good morning fellas" and got Bullied so bad.

really close friends with lucy gray!!! (even tho most of the hc's come from the lucy gray/treemina fic im not gonna base the relationships on it or else i'll Rant abt coralbalism) i see their personalities as very similar, specifically their love for performing and such

they were roommates in the olive garden fic and im probably bringing that back for the band au, i think they're so good as best friends 😭

The truth is that Nancy Wheeler is eighteen years old and has dreams too big for this town, for her bones. Her father is distant and her mother is everything she doesn’t want to be and she has two younger siblings she’s supposed to be looking after but doesn’t even know what their favorite colors are, much less how they’re doing. The day after Lucy’s surprise party, Jesse wakes up alone in bed with a hangover and the scent of your perfume clinging to your pillows. It’s been a while since he’s been this drunk, long before his marriage ended.

It’s when he sees the lipstick marks on his hollow of his throat and down his chest that he realises he took you to bed last night. His memories are hazy, he remembers the taste of strawberry daiquiri on his lips from the cocktails you’d been drinking, the noise you made as you straddled his lap, that pretty dress of yours creeping higher up your thighs.

It’s as he stands in his kitchen, searching for the painkillers he knows he has stored somewhere that he has another memory, one of a rose tattoo situated in the space between your breasts.

“So fucking pretty.” He’d murmured against your skin as his lips traced over the ink.

He doesn’t remember anything else after that, he has no idea how far it went. What he does know was that you were absent when he woke up and that can’t be a good sign. He reaches for his phone and finds a slew of messages, not one of them is from you. He rubs his palms over his weary features.

He can’t believe he’s fucked this up.

It’s a couple of hours later that he turns up at the ballistics lab, a cup of coffee in each hand. You have a Glock in your hands and a frown on your face, Jesse doesn’t interpret that to be a good sign. You don’t even register his presence, not until he sets the takeout cup on the surface of the desk and pushes it towards you with his fingertips.

You smile as you take the earbuds out of your ears, setting them down alongside the Glock.

“So…” He says, wrapping his hands around his own takeout cup as he leans on the counter. “I don’t remember much about last night. Did we...”

He trails off, his mouth going dry because this isn’t how he envisioned his first time with you. It’s something he’s thought about a lot over the past couple of weeks because you’ve been on a few dates, and he thinks the two of you have a real connection.

“We did not.” You inform him, the left side of your mouth tipping up into a smile. “We were very drunk, things got heated, you slowed it down before anything too risqué took place. You said you wanted to savour it.”

His cheeks colour just a little because that memory, it comes back to him, and he knows he’d had his face pressed up against the lace of your panties at the time. He remembers how much he’d wanted to taste you, to feel your fingers in his hair as you moaned his name, but he also remembers how his fingers fumbled when he tried to unzip your dress and he knew he wasn’t at this best. You deserved his full attention, not some half assed fumble.

“I do want that.” He finds himself telling you. “When it happens, I want my entire focus to be on you, no distractions.”

There’s an intensity in his gaze, one that makes you bite your lower lip because you know how good it feels to be the centre of his world, to feel the stubble on his cheeks graze over your skin as his desire presses against you.

“I want that too Jesse.” You tell him. “You have no idea how much.”

- ghostwriter is the relationship i love them more than i love my life it's just like the cute little moments between them like when lucie was nervous before her parabatai ceremony with cordelia and he was holding her and comforting her i melted

- i honestly think james and matthews relationship was dealt with really well we know nobody is ever gonna top jem and will but i think they were written really well and them in edom together was so emotional to me

- tell me why i was so heartbroken when christopher died but i only cried when grace sent that fire message and wrote that it was created by kit 🥺lol i'll tell you why it's because we got zero real reaction about it

i wanted anna's pov as her baby brother died in her arms

i wanted cecily and gabriel seeing their sons body taken into idris and realizing what happened

where was sophie and gideon who also lost a child comforting them?!?!?

honestly i think that since christopher did die there was a lot of potential there

-i hated the love triangle and felt awful for matthew the entire time cause like didn't we all know jordelia was endgame i meannnn

literally love jordelia tho and i we'll never not think of james saying "sod that" and shooting the door open like sir 🫣also them traveling is something that is so personal to me i am in love with the idea of james and cordelia going all around the world and then taking their kids with them 😍

-after this book i feel like grace is a lost kitten and i want literally nothing more than to adopt her also did anyone else catch at the end when they said that grace doesn't talk much idk but i would like to give her a home

-the thomastair content 🤩🤩🤩 i love them so much i love that they're moving in together i love alastair with his baby brother i love eugenia saying she's gonna renounce her family if they don't accept thomas when he came out. every scene with them was a masterpiece

also alastair's personality like my boy is sassy and sarcastic and i would die for him

-i think the anna and ari's storylines progressed really well and they've come so far since we've first met them 🥺

-anyways my #1 ship matthew x sobriety came true and i could not be more thrilled

the moral of my rant here was that i really loved it and i think it's just cause im so in love with each of the characters but i loved almost every second of this book and didn't want it to end my only complaint would be how christopher's death and other potentially emotional topics (will and tessa crying when they found out the kids were stuck in london) were kind of just glossed over but overall i was in love with them all and i don't think i can accurately describe my feelings so that was my jumbled mess of thoughts

Hi! I’m here for the redacted boy pairing, I saw it on your blog and honestly wasn’t going to submit, until I read the questions and thought that they were super fun, unique, and interesting! The song I’m fixated on at the moment is This is what Autumn Feels Like by JVKE. The lyric I always look towards too whenever I play it is “Love is like riding a bike, scary but then it’s alright. I got the hang of it, right?” Because I feel like it’s a pretty good analogy! And I definitely relate to always wondering whether or not you’re doing something correctly 😅. My Enneagram Type is 6 apparently (I took the test just now) and I’m an ENFJ if that helps. I don’t think I’ve ever gone out of my way to listen to a ‘gargantuan YouTube essay’ but I do enjoy hearing people ramble about their interests if that’s similar! My childhood imaginary friend was Lucy from Narnia, I used to imagine that we would go horseback riding and I would run away to Narnia with her and never come back. To fall asleep I usually stay up watching shows (current obsession is criminal minds) or doing things like that and then passing out, though if I can’t sleep I usually just count until my brain shuts off. I would love the name Adrianna. I just think it’s really pretty and it has a lot of nickname options! Which is one of the few things I dislike about my current name, there are like 2 things you can call me to shorten it and one of them reminds me too much of my dad for me to feel comfortable with people using it. I think my favorite audio is either the decorating for the solstice one with David (I’m feral for the way he explains it all and then goes out of his way to tell Angel that he doesn’t want them to feel left out and that they’re the most important part of his life!!) or the one where Vincent tells Lovely about the monarchal summit (oh the foreshadowing) and about his first time there (I think it’s called Cuddling with your Vampire bf but I could be wrong). The Redacted boys I don’t get the hype for but don’t necessarily hate are Ollie (sorry dude, I’m sure you’re sweet and all but it’s just not my cup of tea) and Vega (I do actually dislike him! Everyone talks about this one video of him in the imperium but I’m too scared to watch the whole imperium and no one has given me a clear answer on what video it is that he’s not a ass). I’ve read the Lunar Chronicles (highly recommend) so many times that I practically know them by heart. I have a soft spot for twisted Fairy Tales and LET ME TELL YOU THEY DO IT SO WELL! This may be an odd answer but I’d want Damien as my best friend. I feel like we have a lot in common and I love me a sarcastic but incredibly driven kinda guy, that’s how a lot of my friends are. I don’t have a go-to topic when I tired, but everyone can tell because I start giggling like crazy, as if everything is funny 🥲. My gas station drink is the Cumberland farms slushies, I would mix the blue and red to make purple. Hmmm, this is hard because I feel like ENFJs could really work so beautifully with a lot of people- at least, Redacted people. In the end, I decided to pair the Protagonist, the natural leader, with our favorite leader, David Shaw.

After all, ENFJs, Arieses, and Sixes can be summed up as confident, principled idealists, the kind of friend who takes charge and takes care of their own. You’d be a wonderfully extroverted contrast to David, the perfect mate of the pack Alpha. I also like David for you because Sixes tend to be motivated by a desire for stability and security in their lives, and… well, c’mon. He runs a security company. I need not say more.

In addition to the pun, there’s so many cute, little things that’d be charming about your life together.
