People cancelling on me last minute makes me so fucking stressed for some reason.
The reason is autism.

I know that I will eventually finish of draft of this thesis, but right now it feels vaguely like staring at one of those optical illusions where you cannot identify a start or an end.

Qifrey as a character is so deeply rooted in anger and desperation and obsession and yet he's so incredibly patient and kind with his students. He guides them, he lets them heal, he gives them the words he desperately wanted as a child. He doesn't use his pain as an excuse to take it out on his students. He's not perfect, he absolutely gets blinded by his desperation at times, but his priority will always be to protect the futures of those he cares for (even as his own falls apart). He doesn't want anyone acting as recklessly as he does but he won't ever stop being reckless for their sakes. His gentleness and kindness are not things he started out with, but things he learned and fought to grasp and keep and pass on to the ones he loves. Qifreyyyy

Pain is hard to deal with. It’s not wrong or bad or selfish to feel angry or depressed or to grieve.
You’re not a bad person for having a lower tolerance for things that annoy and irritate you when your pain is flaring.
You’re not a bad person for having little to no libido when your pain is flaring.
You’re not a bad person for expressing you are in pain and discomfort, even if you’ve done it “too much” according to the mean voice in your head.
Be patient with yourself and give yourself the space to safely experience the mental toll chronic pain takes on you.

Really I think nothing shouts "my first Presidential election as a politically active person was 2016" more than the fact that when I feel hope and excitement for the future (possible President Harris) for more than five minutes I immediately get a crushing, all-consuming anxiety of "feeling this positive emotion now is going to make it so much worse when the worst thing possible happens" to the extent that I'll probably need my break-glass-in-case-of-emergency anxiety medication.
