Select stuff from my early years, AKA my EDM years, AKA my "sucks shit at composing and also mixing but I'm having oodles of fun" years. Proof of my work, and my existence.
These files have improper, outdated metadata -- most prominently my former alias -- and are in multiple formats and bitrates. It was a fast and loose time, and I no longer have almost any of the original projects with which to rectify any errors.
Thanks to torcado.itch.io for Scritch Editor, which was used to upload these.
is it gauche to post a youtube playlist? yeah probably.
anyway, listen to this top 51 list of songs in no particular order. see me, feel me, know me. wonder to yourself "do they really like mein herz brennt by rammstein that much?" while scrolling through this before stopping about 4 songs in when you finally decide to take a listen.
I've also been playing around with arranging music. It's not original, just a little recreation of a song someone else made, but I'm happy enough with it.
"Stand Up" - Official Music Video - Performed by Cynthia Erivo - HARRIET...
It might be the “it’s past midnight” but SHIT is this maybe my new favorite song. Her voice is INSANE (and I will figure out how to include that in this essay). Very rarely do I hear a voice that lets me just sit and listen, without needing extra input to focus.
Who does the cover of Enter Sandman you prefer to the original?
i'll start with the fact that i don't really like Metallica. i had a classmate in uni who was a fan and tried to get me to like them and i just couldn't. tbh, this is my experience with most bands with male vocals.
all that aside, my fave cover is from Halocene ft Lauren Babic and Violet Orlandi. i love everything that all 3 of them do together. i recommend their versions of Chop Suey and Welcome to the Black Parade too.
also i just recently discovered that The Warning (love them) did a cover and it's beautiful.
does anyone have like an anti aesthetic. like something you look at and can recognize as a complete fashion/interior design/artistic movement and understand it but it makes you shudder seeing it. i am not talking like “its morally bad” “its poorly structured” like just sheerly devoid of joy for you actually invites a repulse response.
I always pictured Athena watching the events of The Odyssey as they happened to keep tabs on what her ex is doing but it's much funnier to know that she left him on read for 10 years and then came back to a text thread so insane that she immediately had to go fight her dad.
