I see a lot of discussion about the best way to farm weapon catalysts or weapon kills required for Triumphs like Warden. The answer is the first part of Malfeasance exotic quest version of The Corrupted. Its great for everything except rocket launcher kills.

Sure Shattered Throne Thallway is still around but its a pain to get to, and a lot of the other locations got Vaulted or are open to other people. The requirements to get to strike are: defeat the Servitor boss in Gambit then do the 25 Taken boss/miniboss kills. The Taken kills are easily done with Blind Well or public events.

For the first part of the strike, just run past the enemies in front, and go right when jumping over the gap as there are less enemies. You just need to kill this boss in the screenshot below.

When he dies he may or may not spawn adds, if the adds spawn then just retreat up the hill a little bit on the right side and kills the adds on the pictured side of the bridge.

The farming location is up the stairs to the right, where shadow thralls will endlessly run at you. You’re going to want to run Warlock or bring an exotic that can heal. Grenade/rocket launchers not recommended due to how close the shadow thralls get. Put on a reload speed mod, and enjoy how often special ammo drops.

You don’t want to go much further than this on the steps, the Shadow Thralls will run to you. Definitely do not go up the steps and fight the ogres. Feel free to retreat all the way down the steps to swap weapons. It seems there can’t be more than 3-5 thralls grouped at once. 

Anyway I finished a several steps for the Warden seal, as well as 3 different catalysts (including Sweet Business multikills) in just a few hours.

Someone in midlevel decided to complain about a top tier, again. Why do people care this time because it’s a Charger. Now Charger is the one wep that people really don’t like it when you complain about it, but why is that?

Well one of the reasons are the fact that charger is a popular weapon, people like playing it and people hold Charger players in high regard. If you ask me, it’s gone to their heads, and everyone lets it go to their heads and kinda enables it. So for some reason Chargers become this sacred cow of a weapon. When it’s not viable people will argue with you that it actually is, and when it’s dominant people will cry skill issue if you say anything.

And turns out the Charger players have made enough of a fuss that it hit the big news online, and now everyone knows about it. And I mean EVERYONE, Bc so many people dogpiled on the guy who complained about one specific top tier

Is the OP being dumb about Eliter: Yes. He and his whole team are really bad at adapting to Splatoon 3 meta and is still running passive control LDE bombspam strats w Splatling comps. Also playing a top tier like shot and splash and complaining about another top tier isn’t in the best taste

Does a high skill floor justify a weapon being too strong: No

Is Eliter actually super dominant: yes it is

Does it make weapons unplayable: Splatling kinda but that’s about it lol

Is it actually Bc of map design making Eliter counterplay harder: yeah, but that’s also the case w machine alongside it getting Booyah. Neither Eliter or machine got buffed as main weps, but machine isn’t the topic Bc people don’t care if you call machine overpowered and in need of a nerf

Is Eliter ACTUALLY unbeatable: of course not, and it’s still garbage on rainmaker

And why Eliter specifically: because Vac is bad and the things that make (splat) Charger good on these maps also benefit liter, and Charger doesn’t like fighting liter which has more reach than it

So what kinds of things beat out Eliter?

As you could probably expect. Eliter has no direct counters. Never has had em even when it was awful. All of its countermeasures are subtle in nature

Eliter, like shooters and splatlings, require line of sight to function; it can’t shoot you unless it has direct visibility of you, staying behind walls means it can’t actually hit you, so get a good idea where it is and isn’t safe to be. The maps in general have much better sight lines than in 2, so this is harder than before, but you don’t wanna sit around too long in its face Bc no matter how mobile it is the more chances it gets the more likely it is to land the shot. Ninja squid is often used in good part to liter existing, since it reduces visibility by a good amount especially at range. Walls such as big bubbler and splash wall can help, but crab tanks top is still exposed so be careful with that one.

Eliter still tends to lack agency and cannot do much on its own, it’s reliant on its team to do things involving the objective and struggles to be proactive, which is important in Splatoon. Taking out its teammates takes out a lot of the teams ability to do things; liter is really good at what it does tho but what it does well is area denial and being a jump point more than anything else

Liter cannot multikill well and does not handle being ganged up on; inbetween every shot it has to charge a good while. One of you may get splatted but it can’t take on all of you. You can also ambush it when it doesn’t have a charge up, such as when it just shot. It’s mobility isn’t good enough to get away very easily either. Even tho it often runs Respawn punisher the other main adaptation that isn’t ninja squid mobility builds has been the return of Quick Respawn stacking on most weapons that used to use it but stopped. Splat 3 is a more aggro meta overall than 2, so it’s easier to push through in situations where peeking would have just made you monkeys in a barrel.

If all else fails just do something to displace the thing, Missiles, Booyah, bomb, you name it. something to get it off the perch so your team can move up without its presence shutting you down.

Ofc there’s more and the stuff I said I could elaborate more on if I need to but that’s generally some of the basic stuff that makes Eliter a lot less daunting to deal with even if it is really that strong. I don’t think the main wep needs a nerf, but the counterplay rn for it is overall weaker. In time when they inevitably make better maps than what we have now, Eliter will cease to be as dominant and be more manageable to deal with. But for now, do what you can. Eliter or not at least the games more fun than whatever 2 was at the end of its life lol. I’m just glad Dualies are worth using again.

im getting salty over the mercy changes again lel

I just...love how people absolutely hate support mains. Especially Symmetra and Mercy because they ‘take no skill’ (aka they don’t have to aim so obviously that means you have no skill if you play them). Like, yes, Mercy was (and honestly still is) the most picked healer in most matches. Why? Because she’s the only one that does serious healing. Lucio, Anna, and Zenn could all be fantastic healers if Blizzard would give them the chance to be. The problem is, Blizzard listens to all of the DPS mains who bitch and whine about the support heroes constantly until they get nerfed (they do this to tanks too. Look at DVA and Roadhog, but I’m fired up about Mercy right now so.).

Like, personally, I’m a Tracer main, but I’ve been maining Mercy in competitive because nobody else will play her. Which, really wasn’t that bad? I actually started to really enjoy playing her, her ultimate was game changing, and she had a much more major effect on the game than she does now.

But, bitchy whiny DPS mains (I’m sure other people were too, but DPS tends to make up the largest pool of players and I’ve really only heard DPS mains telling me I’m just a no-skill player because I hate the Mercy changes) kept complaining about her rezzing their multikills (which...is the point. That’s the fucking point of the rez.) and Blizzard decided she was too OP. 

There were probably better ways to solve this issue than giving Mercy a complete rework (which, honestly? Should have just been made into a new character. The Valkyrie ultimate would have been a really cool ultimate for a new support hero that Overwatch could actually use.), it’s a little late for me to give out any suggestions, but drastically changing her so abruptly? It’s a really shitty thing to do, because it forces you to relearn an entire character. This Mercy change didn’t just give her a different ability or alter her ult a little, it literally made her a new character.

I have several issues with this. First of all, rather than assessing the situation as a whole and wondering “why does everyone pick Mercy as their healer?” and answering with “obviously she’s too OP, we need to change something” rather than “maybe our other support heroes aren’t as good as they should be” is a big problem. The other healing support heroes don’t put out the healing that Mercy does at a time. I’ve been outhealed by a Lucio on a few occasions, but it was only because I was getting killed over and over again because my team wouldn’t protect me. Secondly, Blizzard claimed that they’re changing Mercy because she was leaving the field and neglecting to heal in order to get big rezes so, obviously, they want to fix her healing by...increasing the damage and rate of fire on her gun? Yeah...sure. Okay. That definitely makes her heal ??? 

It’s really frustrating as someone who came to love this character, but honestly just...can’t play her anymore. She’s not fun. She’s a chore. You only play her because your team needs a healer, not because she’s enjoyable to play anymore. People are constantly screaming at you to rez them, people get pissed off when you use your ultimate and die immediately, people get pissed when you try to utilize the DPS function of Valkyrie (because, let’s be honest, that’s the only fun part about playing her anymore) rather than the “chain healing” (that doesn’t work very well, everyone’s usually way to spread out for it to do anything), you die whenever you try to rez because everyone pushes out really far and you get killed getting them back up and people yell at you for that, etc. etc. It’s just stressful and annoying and I’m straight up not going to play her anymore. Next comp season I’m going for Tracer or D.Va and I really don’t care if we need a healer. I’m not dealing with it. If Blizzard wants people to play supports then make them fun instead of a fucking chore.

It’s like 1 AM and I’m a little too tired to coherently write anymore, but there’s some of my rage at the shitstorm that is Mercy right now.

For once, it actually sits still long enough for Cutter to do its thing, though it watches near enough the entire time. Despite the fact that its wing blades don't have too much feeling in them, it still struggles a little to sit still, wanting to flit them happily.

VS doesn't entirely understand the significance of the flowers yet. It doesn't really need to, to be fair. They're from Cutter, so it likes having them anyway.

This-- this isn't the first time Solariel has had this done to him, but it is an infrequent enough occurrence that it hurts. A lot. In the Council's halls, he had done his best to save his dignity by remaining quiet, accepting his punishment head on, like any angel should.

The cries he allowed to escape clearly stirred some concern; that is exactly why he should have kept quiet.

Sol's intent was to make it back to his personal quarters to tend to his wings, still stained with blood because he was stupid enough to flinch as Asher's axe came down upon him. The procedure is painful for an angel regardless, but normally, it is not meant to be messy. Now he looks and feels even worse off, and it's entirely his own fault.

He does not make it to his quarters. Solariel ends up leaning against the wall with his wings pressed tight against him, and a few moments later he slides down to the floor, quivering.

"Who did this to you?"

The voice comes from behind -- Joryu. He wasn't present to watch it happen, is he really stupid enough to be asking that? What else would have happened to him?

Solariel tries to snap back with all the frustration he feels right now, but the words don't pack nearly the punch he intends, "isn't it obvious? I just-- I need to deal with this alone. That is what I deserve. Now leave me be."
