Got to experiance the Pen's Marriage mod quest and HOLY WHAT THEY DID AN AMAZING JOB. It has inspired so much brainrot in me now that I can have my true pairing together again. The two together simultaneously make each other feral and calmer. So I'm dumping the shitposts I wrote here.

Pen forgoing his usual tracksuit for more revealing clothing cause he's cover in certain kinds of bruises. 

(Pull out a stool, places it in front of Pen, stands on it.) "Now listen here ya little-" 

"You're lucky I love you so much, and that others hold me back, or else I'd be the one in prison." 

Finding Ruber passing out at stupid times from exhaustion turns from funny to sad real fast. Worse so when Pen learns why it keeps happening. 

"I can't even torture you in normal ways. I could threaten suffocation and you'd just go 'mh, yes please'."

"It is an actual miracle that no one has seriously tried to separate us. Maybe we mellow each other out enough that it's not worth it." 

"I wonder if it's possible to teach Rosy how to cook cause I'm scared of what you'll do to my precious kitchen if you use it." 

(Pen and Rosy getting envious of each other.) "Ladies, I love you both dearly."

Punishes Pen by slipping in really hot chilli pepper into his food. Not Duvos Pepper levels, but it does the job when he's done something seriously bad. 

"Something may have slipped out during a talk with Pablo. So sorry if the town acts weirder than usual soon." 

"For the last time, stop reading that damn book my Ma gave ya! I thought you didn't want kids anyway?!" 

"You can big-talk all you want, you've still never beaten me at whack-a-mole." 

"Sorry, being pretty is exhausting." (Collapses into Pen's arms.) 

"There are days where I wonder, 'what if?'. And then see your ass and immediately dismiss the idea." Pen: Do you mean me or my- (muffled squeak) "I mean your glorious globes." (Slapped his ass.) 

Ruber laying his head on Pen's chest. "You can say your heart is unbeating all you want. I can hear it calling for me." 

"If you make one more 'rabbit in heat' joke I'm sending you back to prison." 

"My Crystal, I promise I'm no longer interested in Justice. If it helps, I would have kicked your ass to the curb long ago if it were the case. You can also talk to Pablo too, that man will never stop interfering with my love life." 

"Snow Leopard, Pablo and Vivi agreed to help me make a new custom wardrobe for yer. It's your turn to be the dress up doll."

My builder would like to say "hello."

After they first married Fang and then Logan it was time to download the Pen Marriage and Free Pen mods (Nexus) for my next playthrough.

For this one, the builder married Pen during Winter Y1, popped out two kids by Summer, and then focused on building a house fit for Pen's ego:

It was quite an undertaking. Overall, the workshop took three in-game years to complete.

Once 1.4 is out I'll gear up for a new game, but I've got to say that the Pen Marriage mod, with the voice acting and fun dialogue, added more to it than expected. Pen sort of became the fun husband. Also, to have him around after he should've been gone inserted some odd comedy into the adventure. As it was my first time using mods in MTAS, a lot of random, and not-so-random silliness occurred. I do have pics.

My plan is to share some photos of my builder's misadventures along with more photos of the house as well.

Old thoughts about the old blog, circa 2012

The single biggest problem with the invasion is that now ponies know that Changelings exist, and that's where I drew my initial inspiration when I started: the blog was originally supposed to chronicle a downward spiral for Ponyville—fraught with soldiers, paranoia, the occasional angry mob, and a move toward intense nationalism, because the abrupt realization that lovesucking shapeshifters exist would do awful things to society as a whole. Suddenly the ponies have An Enemy who could be anywhere and be anyone, and they only know bare bones basics about that enemy. Rumors would be flying, children would be teased or assaulted based on their appearance, and dissent would be silenced as "unponylike." I was eventually going to head toward book burnings and a sanctioned assault on the library by the local military regime acting "in the name" of Celestia but without her sanction. And soon enough "the old Ponyville" is gone.

That eventually evaporated when I started interacting with other blogs, and when Season 3 got underway and Ponyville was still Ponyville. You can't have a pony from a happy version of Ponyville show up in a version of Ponyville that is slowly creeping toward what might eventually become fascism.

Learning how to make my own mods for Baldur's Gate 3 was a mistake for two reasons:

1) Posting that shit publicly (i.e. on Nexus Mods) is stressful as fuck & I hate doing Customer Service even when I'm actually getting paid

2) From now on, every goddamn game I play on my PC, I am probably going to mod. Stardew Valley? That's actually the first game I ever downloaded mods for I think. I haven't used or made any Balatro mods yet but I've considered it.

Most notably, for the past few days I've been taking a break from BG3 Modding Hell to finally play My Time At Sandrock, and guess what?

That's my builder, Gloria.

MTAS modding is very limited compared to BG3 or SDV, but guess what: I edited the textures on the clothes Gloria is wearing. I even edited the bronze daggers she primarily fights with.

I really wish I had the knowledge to be able to get mesh edits into the game (I've been able to extract the meshes to edit in Blender, but have no idea how to get them back in the game; I suspect I might have to download Unity to get anywhere with that). It's not as simple as putting the file in the right path like with BG3.

Also here's a screenshot I took yesterday before I figured out how to get Special K (program that MTAP/MTAS modders have used for retextures) working aka before I started editing the textures (also before I decided to adjuat her hair color to be slightly darker/more saturated). Just for reference I guess:

I haven't done anything crazy yet, mostly just fucking with the colors, but there's a necklace that is part of that shirt she's wearing which normally has a sorta compass pendant thing? And I edited it to have a lil morning glory flower icon thing (because that's like. Her thing. Her name is Gloria. Her workshop is Morning Glory Works.)
