Badass Ladies

I was tagged by @fangirlingtodeath513 to do this, so here I go!

The rules are to list 10 of your favorite female characters from 10 different fandoms, and then tag 10 different people.

1. Charlie Bradbury (Supernatural) - YAASSSSS!!!! She is the greatest human being on the planet and I loooooove her so much!!!! Bonus points for being a lesbian!!!

2. Sarah Lance (DC Legends of Tomorrow)- She is the captain of a time ship, she is strong, kick-ass, powerful, gorgeous, and bisexual! Hell yes!

3. Alex Danvers (Supergirl)- Okay, don’t get me wrong, I love Kara, and I love Cat Grant. Like crazy insane love them both. But there is something about Alex that really resonates with me. Her coming out story was similar to mine, and I faced some of the same challenges she did. Plus, she is fearless, strong, always ready for battle, and loves her family fiercely.

4. Nomi Marks (Sense8)- It was a super close call between Amanita and Nomi because I love them both so much and if I could have more than one character from a fandom they both would have made my top ten list of characters. But Nomi’s story really caught me. My family is very similar to her’s, and they treated me similarly to the way Nomi’s family treated her. She is gay, trans, kick-ass, smart, beautiful, and loving. (PS, Amanita is also so amazing and supportive!!!)

5. Cosima Niehaus (Orphan Black)- She is by far my favorite clone. She is soooo smart, she she cares sooooo much, she would do anything for her sisters, and, of course, she is another lesbian!!!!

6. Mindy Lahiri (The Mindy Project)- Mindy is outspoken, she will talk about anything, and she has pushed the boundaries of “acceptable topics” women are allowed to talk about for years now. She is so confident and sure of herself, doesn’t take any shit from anyone, and the feminist icon we all need.

7. Leslie Knope (Parks and Rec)- Leslie Knope is my hero. She is always fighting to help people, she is absolutely hilarious, and her relationship with Ben is my favorite straight relationship of all time. Yes. So much yes.

8. Amy Pond (Doctor Who)- Okay, Maybe I just have a thing for redheads… But I really loved Amy Pond. She stayed committed to Rory when she had the entirety of time and space open to her. She never sacrificed who she was, her family, or her interests to go explore the universe and she always stayed true to herself. TBH- It was a close call between Amy and Madame Vastra or Jenny…

9. Hermione Granger (Harry Potter)- Hermione showed me it was okay to be the smartest person in the room. She taught me it was okay to not be the prettiest girl, that girls can be strong and powerful and smart and amazing and fight for justice. Also, there were a ton of other women that could have gone here instead- Ginny, Molly, Tonks, and Fleur.

10. Arizona Robbins (Grey’s Anatomy)- Okay, TBH, I stopped watching Grey’s seasons ago. But Arizona was always one of my favorites (along with Lexie. RIP.) She overcame losing a leg and almost losing her fiance and baby. She followed her passions, and plus, she is a pediatrician! Literally, women that fix sick babies are 110x hotter. She is so happy and cheerful, and she totally stuck up for Callie to Callie’s parents and changed her dad’s mind.

idk if it actually means something but when dean tries that "vegetable water", cas immediately enters the frame and it somehow felt like it was a symbolism of dean trying something new, something "healthy"? idk it just made more sense in my head 😂

That is certainly a valid interpretation, and one that a lot of people have made. I’m not going to bother going into a ton of detail because, well, other better meta writers than me have already analyzed the hell out of the cucumber water moment. 

For me, its just another in a long list of things that Dean said he didn’t like (usually because he viewed them as being less manly - like chick flicks, Taylor Swift, Dr. Sexy, and cake) but then turned around and enjoyed. I’m just happy to see him allowing himself these pleasures because, let’s face it, those things can be awesome! The sad thing is that it seems like what holds him back the most is insecurity about how he will be viewed by Sam while Sam doesn’t care one flipping bit that Dean likes this stuff. He often acts a bit surprised at first when Dean expresses interest in these things, but would certainly be less judgy if he hadn’t just listened to Dean condemn these things moments before. Poor guy’s got whiplash!

I’m with you, though, that I would love for Cas to be one of those new things that he “experiences differently, and maybe even for the first time.”

first of all, i think i speak for all of us when i say this: you are awesome, this project is awesome and I’m so, so proud of the spn family. the female cast are the best kind of role models there are and makes me want to be so much more! that being said, i really want a tshirt, but can’t afford one. i’m from a small town in india (so yeah the main reason i can’t afford it is bc of the difference in currency?) and I’ve never felt more out of place, i never quite fit in. i have great friends, a great family, but the environment here is not one that reverbs with gender equality, y'know? but as i got older, I’ve realized it’s okay to live a life others don’t understand. and this family played a huge part in that, and i guess the tshirt just kind of cements in the fact i’m wayward af. and i wouldn’t have it any other way. tumblr url: motherofcas email: nolongerlonelypahi@gmail.com

Vernon: if you had to replace a title track with another song from that same album, which song would you replace? what would the new title track be?

It took me so long to answer this because I couldn’t decide, but then I remembered (once again) that Highlight isn’t a title track nfojwnsdq. So yes, even though Boom Boom is mY JAM, Highlight is probably my fave of the album and so I’d switch them (actually, boom boom isn’t even my second or third fave of the album. fast pace and lean on me??????? which goes to show how magical that album is because boom boom is one of my top title tracks…)
