Astrology observations - Part 4 (use whole signs)
🌟 Moon in 4th is one of my favourite placements. These people usually have a good career, like an emotionally fulfilling one. They won't stay in a job that doesn't make them happy. Their mom can help them choose a career or give them interview tips.
🏮Mars in 2nd house people are so lucky when it comes to earning money, it's like, they get a new money making opportunity just when they're on their last penny. They're also not afraid to get their hands dirty and are willing to do almost anything, very hard working people. They're also the ones managing all the money in their family.
🌟 Mercury in 8th house people are the ones with a "sexy brain" like the WAY their mind works, are so good at analysing arguments and coming up with the best possible solution. Good debating skills. These people have great manifestation skills, I have a list of 100 + incidents, it's honestly a little scary. Can also develop clairvoyant abilities if they work on it.
🏮I haven't met a single non religious, Sun in 9th house person in my life. Even if they're not that religious in their younger years, they will be when they get older. Always willing to help others even when they themselves are suffering, my mom has this, and.....it pisses me off so bad. The "put your own oxygen mask on first" advice is for you all. Stop helping people, be selfish, it's not your duty to make everyone else's life better. My mom doesn't listen, but maybe you all will.
🌟 Venus in 11th house is a placement that's really good from a business perspective. They're great at negotiations so that's helpful. They won't like doing a regular 9 to 5 job as it will suppress their freedom and creativity. They will open their own business pretty early on in life, in like late 20's or early 30's. Great architects and interior designers. I remember when I made the architecture and astrology post, a lot of people had this.
🏮I haven't seen anyone talk about this, but moon in 6th house people can be really good leaders, they're very helpful and kind and their ability to understand emotions makes them extremely likable. They have more of a people oriented leadership style. They focus on building strong relationship with their group members or employees. Also, why are you all always sick 😭? Prone to anxiety and stress and this leads to body pain and digestive issues. Please put your health first.
🌟 It's really funny how ALL my friends, every single one, has Venus in 1st. I would say that rather than us being pretty, we're just very likable. Even if they're introvert or shy, they have a communication style that makes other people want to talk to them. It's just an aura thing, tbh. Also, they're huge people pleasers and will do their best not to offend anyone, like even if a person is being annoying, they won't say anything. (Mars in 1st can change this)
🏮 Jupiter in 2nd house is not good for marriage but great for career and friendships. I know people with this who are still in contact with their pre school friends. Their friends will help them in their career as well. They're intelligent but they think they're not, and this makes them lose a lot of opportunities. Need to have a little bit of courage to succeed in life.
🌟 Sun in 12th house people probably had a painful childhood (more so than others), if mercury is with sun in 12th, then they write poems to express this pain. They're good writers, and can be lyricists, authors, script/play writers, etc. these people are physically weak. Might also not know who they are, as in, not aware of their own personality traits.
🏮Saturn in 12th house people lack confidence when they're young, but become more confident as they get older and learn to get out of their comfort zone. These people have better luck outside of their homeland. This is a good placement if you want to become a psychologist as it gives you the ability to properly analyse those with mental disorders. They also look aloof most of the time. This is another placement that is good in terms of writing skills, many famous authors have this (those who write sad stuff)

TRUST ME — kaveh .
with al-haitham as acting grand sage, he was naturally out of the house more. that leaves time for some rather unorthodox activities between you and your boyfriend.
notes : f reader, mirrors , squirting , praise , creampie.
wc : >1k
“better hurry, princess,” kaveh smirked, the smoothness of his voice a perfect compliment to the lewd echoing of skin slapping against skin in the room. “he’ll be home soon… and you know how painfully punctual that man typically is,”
you weren’t too sure about how your boyfriend had managed to convince you to let him take you on his roommates’ bed, though the blonde had always been one to have a way with words. so much so that now, you were on your knees, tangled in al-haitham’s grey, silk sheets whilst kaveh rammed into you from behind. one large hand held both of your wrists behind your back, using the hold as leverage to bury himself deeper and deeper into your warm cunt.
he watched intently as your ass jiggled with each bounce, his ego inflating a tad more each time you squeezed his fat cock. the position that he had you in also allowed for kaveh to have almost complete control over you and your body. occasionally, he would bend down and whisper tender praises into the shell of your ear, reminding you how delightful your pussy felt wrapped around him, and how well you were for taking all of him.
"that's it," he rambled, "gooood fucking girl. . . best pussy ever, you hear me? so fucking perfect. . ."
each syllable of praise made your cunt flutter around his thick cock, especially when kaveh's balls collided with your puffy clit. "are you gonna cum for me, princess?" he cooed, "wanna cum all over haitham's sheets? make a pretty mess f'me, darling?"
"please. . ." you begged, "wanna cum on y'r cock... please, please, please,"
kaveh grew cocky at your repetition, using every ounce of his strength to lift your body so that your back was flat against his chest. he shifted his arms to hold you in place, continuing to fuck you as he did so. one of his arms snaked its way up from your stomach and to your face, gripping your chin and forcing you to take a look in the full-length mirror that rested opposite the bed.
"sweet thing," he hushed your pleasured cries, "such a mess already, aren't ya? y' wanna cum so bad, don't you, pup? keep watching, wanna show you how pretty you look f'me,"
his hand then trailed its way back down, teasing your pebbled nipple with a light tug before settling on your oversensitive clit. kaveh's digits massaged loose circles around the puffy nub, his lips finding solace against the sweet spot on your neck. "beg for it, princess," he mumbled against your skin.
you merely whimpered, words having fled your pretty little head a short while ago.
"already that far gone? 's okay, i've got you. just let go for me, alright, sweetheart?"
kaveh's lithe fingers sped up, though his thrusts grew sloppier. you muttered short semblances of phrases, with him finding your incoherence completely adorable. a couple of taps to your clit had you squirming, yet your eyes remain on the mirror — ever the obedient soul. the man managed to decipher from your babbles that you were about to cum, and with you in such a state of mind you would undoubtedly fall hard.
"go on, cum f'me, princess," he cooed. you saw white lights as you squirmed in kaveh's hold. your cunt clamped down around him, gushing all over his roommates sheets. he continued to fuck you through your high, shooting thick ivory ropes into you shortly after.
kaveh held you as you calmed down, knowing how much you valued being close to him afterwards. he wiped away any tears that had fallen, rambling soft praises into your hair as he kissed the crown of your head.
"love you," you spoke, reaching for kaveh's hand to hold.
"i love you too, my darling," he smiled back at you, "feeling okay?"
you nodded. not many people got to see this side of the architect, with his cocky exterior now deteriorated and leaving behind the most genuine, gentle man that you'd ever met. he held onto your hand as he stood up, admiring the mess left behind. not only was his cum dribbling out of you and beginning to pool on the sheets, but due to the grey material, you could see the exact spot where you'd squirted all over the place.
part of him wanted to leave it for al-haitham to find, though the small yet rational part of his brain decided to spare you the embarrassment of such confrontation. he went to go and grab a washcloth, though before he could even exit the room, he heard the front door begin to unlock. oh, he was really in for it now.

Stupid White Car | Neighbor!Robert "Bob" Floyd
Summary: Pretty trees and cozy fire pit nights are all you expected when Robert mentioned wanting to landscape his backyard. And then the architect in the slutty white Benz shows up.
Word Count: 810
Warnings: none except sorry if your name is Alyssa 😬
A Note From Mo: The world's biggest shoutout to my favourite Bradshaw Baddie @roosterforme for coming up with this delicious idea and beta-ing this sake-written, jealousy-fueled oneshot for the neighbor!Bob anthology. Hope this satisfies everyone's appetite until Part III graces your screens.
The project was supposed to be done a week ago. No more white Mercedes in his driveway, no more lemonade on the back patio, no more mulch deliveries outside business hours. No more her.
When Robert announced he was finally landscaping his boring grass lawn while on leave, you had encouraged him. Dreams of sitting out there with him by a fire pit under some string lights danced before your eyes. But now you’re wishing he had kept his patchy lawn that turned into a mud pit at the slightest chance of rain.
Then she showed up.
You were working in your home office, deep into a spreadsheet, when you heard a female voice in the yard next door. Face pressed into the window, turning just so, a tiny postage stamp of his yard visible from your vantage point. Your sweet boyfriend walking around his desolate lawn, pointing out problems, while the most stunning woman followed him, smiling and nodding and jotting down notes.
It should be illegal for him to look so good in faded jeans with grass stains. Or for her to pull off work boots so well.
You missed your three o’clock meeting observing them from your hideout, having moved to the laundry room where you could see his yard better. Watched them sit at the little finicky table he needed to replace and go over pages in her catalog, pointing out the design features he liked and what she recommended.
You didn’t know words like drip irrigation and concept plan could sound so…intimate.
Now it’s been weeks, and that annoying little car is always in his driveway. When she’s not “supervising” the subcontractor, she’s delivering supplies or needing to go over the plans one last time. The 15th has come and gone, and yet she’s still here. And you’re not sure whether it’s your imagination or not that her blouses suddenly have one less button done.
It’s a beautiful spring day outside, and you wish you were out there instead of holed up trying to make sense of this budget. The window is open to allow a soft breeze, tickling the skin not covered by your thin tshirt. An hour ago you shot Robert a text asking if he wanted to have dinner out tonight, try out that new bistro with the cute patio and enjoy the sunshine and some tiramisu.
Maybe add in an evening walk along the beach? Ending with a night cap and him wrapped in your overstuffed comforter, enjoying his last night of leave blissfully unaware of the rest of the world.
Checking your quiet phone again, you settle down to your computer. And then you hear a perfect twinkle of a laugh.
You abandon your computer and race down to the laundry, face pressed against the glass as emerald green jealousy licks along your skin.
No wonder you haven’t heard from Robert, his full attention is on his landscape architect as she has him choose between gravels for the stepping stones they’re finally installing. He’s brought out lemonade. Innocent blue eyes trained on her and laughing good-naturedly as she makes a joke about mortar. A joke a little too sultry for your taste.
You didn’t even hear her car pull in. When you talked to him last night he acted like all decisions had been made, one more full day of work and his backyard would be summer ready. It’s not a surprise she has weaseled herself into another visit.
Their hands accidentally brush as they flip between sample pages. Your entire being is rigid, the world in front of you an ominous red. How dare she touch what’s yours!
Before reasoning can interfere, you’re slipping on sandals and racing to the back fence. Pupils wild, heart racing, the green-eyed monster hot on your heels.
The latch on his fence, newly installed, nearly pulverized in your jealousy-fueled mission. The gate swings open and there they sit, too close for your liking, her manicured fingers gliding along his forearm as she explains costs.
Robert stands from his chair, shock and surprise written all over his face. He’s never seen this look in your eyes, this possession written all over your features. The woman raises her eyebrows to you, mildly shocked, mildly irritated you’ve interrupted her meeting with her favorite client.
“Alyssa, this is my, uh, neighbor next door…” he trails off awkwardly, realizing he’s never had to introduce you since that fateful night in your kitchen.
You see her smirk. Her revealing blouse. Her eyes that pity you. And from the corner of your eye, you see that stupid white Mercedes.
Rounding the rickety table, Robert’s eyes are filled with nothing but affection. A gentle reminder that she’s had his time, but you have his heart.
Your shoulders relax, returning her smug smile as you complete his sentence. “Neighbor…and girlfriend.”

On Moonrise Towers, the Thorm Family, and the Shadow Curse
Once another compilation so that I don't need to go constantly digging for things. A general timeline of events:
Reithwin town founded by the Thorm family
Moonrise Towers constructed
Melodia Thorm dies
Isobel Thorm dies
Ketheric turns to Shar
Gauntlet of Shar constructed/rebuilt; Reithwin turns to Sharran worship
Nightsong is captured by Ketheric and Balthazar
Flaming Fist sends Art Cullagh to investigate Ketheric
Harpers, Druids, and Flaming Fist team up to fight Ketheric
Mason who built Moonrise Towers + the Gauntlet of Shar makes a deal with Raphael; Yurgir kills all the Sharrans in the Gauntlet/Grymforge save one
Ketheric is killed, Shadow Curse released
Survivors of the battle flee
Ketheric resurrects, turns to Myrkul
Gortash and the Dark Urge bring Ketheric in on the Absolute plan
Ketheric resurrects Isobel (maybe before ^ but probably after)
Isobel flees to the Last Light Inn
Now, expanding on the details, sources, and adding some firmer dates? that's all going below the cut.
Construction of Moonrise Towers
The first, and as far as I know only reference to Moonrise Towers outside of BG3 is in the Code of the Harpers, where it is described as the base of the Crescent Coat, officer of the High Heralds (a group spinning out of the Harpers, referenced by Halsin in game), in 1368.
So, we know when it must be established by - but how much earlier can we go? Pretty far given that the Thorms are elven/half-elven.
Our best boundary is that we know Balduran visited Moonrise Towers before becoming an Illithid. His initial departure from Baldur's Gate and shipwreck happened around 1050 DR, at 300 years before BG1/2, so he has to come to Moonrise Towers sometime after that. FR Wiki states this is ~1150 or later, but I don't know where they're getting that from? I think that's a reasonable timeframe, though.
We know the same architect built Moonrise as the Gauntlet of Shar (from talking to him in the House of Hope), but there's no record of what race he was (only meeting him as a skeleton), and if an elf could easily still be working a few centuries after the construction.
Ketheric is a half-elf for sure, though, but he is an old one. How old exactly is hard to say. 3rd edition gave "old" at 93, with a maximum age of 130-190, while 5e just says "often exceeding 180 years". If we take that he looks the way he did in ~1370 as his death, that places his birth at a minimum of ~1170, but probably later, and the construction of Moonrise Towers ~1200 at the earliest, which is maybe a bit long for Balduran but not unreasonably so.
The other thing of note is that Moonrise Towers has a 'sister' in the Sunrise Spire, a Lathanderian Monastery destroyed in 1177 during a territorial war. Combined with the (undated) fall of Rosymorn Monastery, there is perhaps something interesting about the regional shift from Lathander to Selune, and the construction happening after the destruction further supports a date around ~1200.
Personally, I'd want to push things earlier rather than later - it wouldn't be difficult to say that Ketheric is more elven than human, pushing his age a bit further out, so somewhere between 1180-1200 fits the sweet spot. But really, all we have for sure is "before 1368"
Melodia and the Thorm Family
Melodia Thorm is a human worshipper of Selune, who married Ketheric Thorm and converted him to her worship. They had a daughter, Isobel, who was young when Melodia died (or, at least, Melodia still called her their little girl).
Ketheric is a half-elf; every other member of the Thorm family is an elf - Malus, Gerringothe, and Thisobald all have the longer ears (although the hood makes this less clear on Thisobald).
Malus refers to (presumably) Ketheric as his nephew, making him the only certain branch of the family tree. Gerringothe, we have no idea where she fits in, although as a full elf, we can assume no one is Ketheric's siblings, only parents/aunts/uncles/cousins/more distant relatives.
Thisobald...is complicated. He calls Ketheric father, however, the phrasing is ambiguous (capitalized in a religious sense) in addition to the lack of reference to him in accounts of Melodia/Isobel, and the fact he appears to be fully elven. The two possibilities is that Thisobald and Isobel are half-siblings, with Thisobald's other parent being a full elf, and this being the source of disconnect between him and Ketheric, or that Father is not literal and he is related to Ketheric another way.
We know that Malus Thorm was alive in 986, where he recorded battle casualties from a Dark Justiciar/Selunite/Druid conflict. Given that only the Dark Justiciars are named, it seems likely he was a Sharran at that time. If we take the date as legitimate and not referring to the 1370s conflict, then at least Malus worshipped Shar before Reithwin turned to Selunite worship.
Gauntlet of Shar
Around 800 years before Ketheric Thorm's turn, Grymforge was a city of Shar worshippers. He attempted to revitalize it - creating or rebuilding the Gauntlet of Shar in the process.
And, yes, these two are connected - you can see the entrance to the Gauntlet from one of the points in the lava and through the hall where Nere is trapped. There is a further section not accessible seen from where the Mimic fight is, mainly what appear to be another set of docks.
While we're told the Mason constructed the Gauntlet, given that Shadowheart has heard legends of it, the more likely option seems to be it was rebuilt, since it's quite a large place to construct in only a handful of years. Especially if Malus was a Sharran in 986, it would explain the presence of Shar worshippers before Ketheric's turn.
So, we have the initial Dark Justiciar trials around 600 DR, followed by a decline (with the Gauntlet perhaps lasting past the fall of the city, hidden under Reithwin) enough to establish a myth that can then be built on in the 1370s.
Death of Isobel
How Isobel died is an unresolved plot point, revolving around cut content, so it's hard to call anything "canonical" but the two potential paths are as follows:
In the earliest version, she was killed by Halsin, during a meeting between her (and other Reithwin locals) and the druids, before Shar's influence (and the song of the Nightsong, potentially) drove them mad, and Halsin stabbed Isobel with Sorrow, leaving it cursed). This sparked the conflict between Ketheric and the Druid-Harper alliance.
In a later version, Balthazar killed her, framing Aylin for the deed, which led to Ketheric capturing her and trapping her in the Gauntlet of Shar. Isobel was tethered to Ketheric, and needed to be separated before he was killed
Either way, Isobel has no memory of her death upon being resurrected a century later. It happened probably ~1370, triggering the conflict. While it may have happened earlier (with Ketheric keeping his Shar worship hidden) probably not earlier than 1368.
Conflict with the Harpers
Alright, so this is where we get back into figuring out hard dates. Generally, this happened a century ago - so ~1392, but any time something is that round I always assume it's off.
Again, we know things are business as usual around 1368 because of the Heralds; this means that while Ketheric may have turned to Shar, it wasn't public. However, we do have some dates related to the conflict.
The Harpers try and fail to surrender in a letter by Khelben Arunsun - he's expelled from the Harpers in 1371, founding a splinter group, and dies in 1374. That makes 1369-1370 the most likely timing.
However, the records from Moonhaven and from the Emerald Grove push it to being a later date. Uktar 1371 is the date that the Apothecary and Apprentice arrive from Thay, the start of the Apprentice's journal, which ends with the Dark Justiciars killing him. Toth's logbook is the Apothecary's account, and has a raid in late Uktar and in Nightal; this may be the same year, but more likely later. We know there was at least one failed raid on Moonhaven before it fell completely.
Uktar 1371 we also get the Logbook from the Emerald Grove - they're dealing with far more minor problems and presumably aren't yet at war with the Dark Justiciars, which further supports the idea that the raids on Moonhaven happen in 1372 or 1373.
To account for Khelben's presence, we could assume the failed surrender is from an initial conflict in 1369-1370, that ended with the Harpers retreating, but more likely, the threat Ketheric Thorm posed was enough that the Harpers and Moonstars (Khelben's splinter group) were in alliance - after all, it wasn't a clean split and there was still a great deal of overlap, and he's still the Blackstaff.
The details of the conflict are largely uncertain. We know the Dark Justiciars destroyed Moonhaven, and presumably some other villages, and that the shadow curse claimed the region around Moonrise Towers and Reithwin.
However, we do know how it ended. The Mason made a deal with Raphael to destroy the Dark Justiciar army, which brought Yurgir to the Gauntlet, where he killed all but one (hiding as a swarm of rats). While we only see Yurgir's impact in Grymforge and the Gauntlet, presumably Raphael helped with defeating the entire army.
How Ketheric died and came to be buried in the mausoleum is unclear, but in the final moments of the battle, he cursed the lands around Moonrise Towers with the Shadow Curse, killing many of the Harpers and Druid, and lasting for well over a century, until he came to be resurrected in the name of Myrkul.
My Proposed Timeline
You've read the evidence above. This is therefore a mix of canon, reasonably makes sense in canon, and completely made up headcanon
1492 - Balthazar resurrects Isobel; she flees to the Last Light Inn
???? - Balthazar resurrects Ketheric, he becomes Myrkul's chosen
1373 - Yurgir kills Dark Justiciar Army; Ketheric dies and the Shadow Curse falls
1372 - Dark Justiciars spread out and attack local villages, destroying Moonhaven. The Emerald Grove, Harpers, Moonstars, and Flaming Fist ally together
1370 - The Nightsong is captured, used as the final test for the new Dark Justiciar army Ketheric builds
1369 - Isobel killed by [Halsin/Balthazar/???]. Ketheric completes turn to Shar, forces Reithwin to convert, has the mason begin reconstructing Grymforge
1350 - Melodia dies. Ketheric's faith begins to waver.
1340 - Isobel born
1325 - Melodia and Ketheric marry
1300 - Melodia born.
1200s - Moonrise Towers constructed; Reithwin slowly builds up prominence as a trade stop amon
1170s - Ketheric Thorm born.
1150s-1250s - young Halsin grows up in the lands around Reithwin, where he befriends Thaniel.
980s - Dark Justiciar/Druid/Harper conflict, Malus Thorm attending. Sharrans in the region go further into hiding; Reithwin is known as a Selunite enclave.
600s - Grymforge is a thriving Sharran city. Dark Justiciar trials are held within the Gauntlet of Shar.

I adore your Archivists and the lore you make for them and their personalities and relationships between each other and Collector! You don't paint them as Good but misunderstood or cartoonishly evil.
They are god-like entities and their morality system and values are way to different for mortals to easily relate and understand. And good luck for them to not grow up with an issue or two and then proceed to raise a young collector with no problems =3
Also a question if you don't mind👉👈(sorry if you already answered it, my memory is bad TT) So all five of them are collectors(and they are the only ones of their kind), the siblings have a different name for their group why? And our Collector's name is the same as species or will he have something his own later like others when he is older?
The empty, uncaring void filled with extinction and destruction is not a place where kids grow happily without any lasting issues and from a mortal point of view - a weird perception of good but they are trying
I don't think anyone has asked about this one yet! Their names are related to their identity and that connects to their history; they don't really use individual ones, but rather what describes who they are.
I've put the reasoning and my stab at the lore under the cut since I thought it might be a bit long and not everyone into it (and I just figured out how to add the read more cut so im gonna use it)
They are not the only ones in existence; they are just in this part of the galaxy we see. In the beginning, when the universe wasn't as expanded, the Children of the Stars were closer to each other, exploring the young galaxy together and living among other living creatures - mortals.
After the extinction event that left the children alone on the barren world, they decided not to let it ever happen again. They began collecting life from the surroundings and spread it to uninhabited systems, later establishing the first archive to help with it. Thats when they started call each others collectors, and after creating archive those collectors connected to it that cared for and used it were archivists. It didn't go fantastic, they were young figuring things out on the way, the lessons they learned got contained in the Guidebook everyone took. At this point, they also realized that everything they were doing was not enough. The galaxy was too vast, with too many worlds facing their ends too far apart. They separated making own archives, now too far away to ever really meet and find each other.
On how it realates to names. Collie is a kid, they are a collector so The Collector, they live around the archive but it's not their responsibility at this point -it's The Archivists. As Collector grows up and becomes an Archivist they can take a specific set of tasks and be associated with them taking on a title. However, this also means that titles can change.
The first sibling in the story, after establishing their archive, was just named The Archivist. When another collector grew up to help, they divided roles, with Curator handling organization inside the archive and Naturalist handling "ground work". Later, the tasks of the Naturalists were divided, now becoming Anatomist and dealing with the living environment and Architects handling the unliving aspects . Following Archivist became The Wayfarer, responsible for keeping track of every collected place and noting any changes they undergo. They scout out planets that are to be added to the archive.
I'm not certain what Collie would want to do in the future. I think they might be inclined towards tasks related to being around mortals as they are pretty social, so they could probably take on some responsibilities from Anatomist and Wayfarer. But, I can't say for sure what title they might take
And here's a fun little aspect: the universe didn't stop expanding. The places their archive reaches keep getting further away and more advanced systems, so planets that are more than basic fauna and flora are more prone to collapsing. At some point, probably when Collie is an Archivist, the archive might have to split, and the names will shift again
#I implied some history in the dream comic but its not very really clear:p#In reblogs is my reasoning#sorry for that#the owl house#owl house#toh fanart#toh archivists#the archivists#toh collectors#toh the archivists#toh collector#the collector#ask

Abe Hirschfeld, who made a fortune building parking garages, turned a parking garage at 330 East 61st Street into an exclusive fitness club in the 1980s.
In 1979, Vignelli Associates designed a logo, brochure, stationery, and membership materials for what their own brochure deemed “a country club in the heart of the city”
“A unique sporting club offering tennis, squash and racquetball”
“No sport and racquet facility like exists anywhere.”
By 1984, the club was the place to be seen with many celebrity sightings [for example, Cher, Diana Ross, Liza Minelli, Arnold Schwarzenegger, David Bowie, Mick Jagger, Ashford and Simpson, Brooke Shields]
Quotes from a 1984 NY Times article about the health club’s social scene:
''The Vertical Club is today's Studio 54''
“People join other health clubs to get in shape before they join here''
“Pure Fellini''
“It is better socially than a singles bar because it's not so obvious”'
Here is what the VC brochure promised:
“Court time at your convenience is always assured, because Vertical Club membership is strictly limited. … The congeniality and prestige of the club us maintained by our Admissions Committee, which interviews and approves all applicants.”

The Gorkhon’s wormless today. The Tower’s geometrical shadows no more hang above the square; lie dogtorn pieces of sketchpaper down riverbed, sleep-sleeping at last. Like architects do sleep in twyre fields, hugging two scarred halves of a coin, mo[u]rning a stillborn child. Near the water’s edge they stand abreast, wearing meditations on their sleeve. It’s pleasant to think how easily they’d read each other, if turning heads, just enough to meet their eyes. They stare at that helpless void only clothed by clouds; not a sound but birds’ cries calling to distance. And on the other side, bared like a promising body, the ground on which to lay a new town, ideas upon ideas coupling to birth houses and monuments. Victor sees it already: a dome, mathematics made perfection, to cradle the centre of a future utopia; a second coming past the plague.
Excerpt from Bodyparts, a Pathologic experimental fic. Featuring more widower sadness and homoeroticism.

leaving home is never easy. but sooner or later, you must leave behind what you knew.
when monstera and monger were younger, they were separated from their parent. luckily, they wandered into a scavenger tribe kind enough to take them both in, despite their oddities. but one cannot live in a world not made for them without consequences. monstera and monger leave. for better pastures? for the hope of finding their parent? it doesn't really matter, does it? they left because they couldn't stay.
anyway worldbuilding under the cut
this scav tribe is in outer expanse, or an area/region close by but still outside pebbles and moon's walls. its in a wetlands biome, a grand tree draped with vines and architecture. bigger than a toll, but not quite the city metropolis became. the tree blooms with fruit, not enough to feed all the scavengers, but enough to help bolster their ranks. the outer edges of the tree act like any other toll, but unless youre trusted by scavengers (chieftain passage unlocked) you wont be let near the grand tree.
the large space within the tree and under its roots help the scavengers grow their community, outposts just at the edges of its roots guard the growing populous and brighter scavengers focus in on building food stores, learning how to heal, and advancing their meagre technology without much fear. architects build out from the tree, poles and platforms spiraling upwards and out, with a few braver scavengers experimenting with canopy bridges to other trees. still, life in the rain world is brutal, and the unforgiving rains are much more fickle in their timing outside of iterator territories.
scavengers are family, no matter what. even if a scavenger kills another scavenger, it must have been an accident, or perhaps there was a reason. this type of mentality, where it is no man for themself, where you help family survive, even if you despise them, helps scavengers as a species thrive in rain world. however, this comes at a cost: their trust in other species. it doesn't matter if it was an accident, if youre not a scav, one step out of line can and will mean death, for you threaten the family. yet, trusted non-scavengers will often be helped, a squad keeps them safe, and tolls will be free. this way of life extends to monstera and mongers time in the grand tree scavenger community, where they were raised kindly and taught everything the scavengers knew, treated like any other scavenger child,, but the moment either of them were seen as a threat? exile, at best. at worst, well, that deep in scavenger territory, itd be hard to escape.
scavengers are jumpy and paranoid,, but not malicious. it helps that monger was familiar with and to scavengers, even before meeting pearl travelling parent. monstera, on the other hand, is both new and holds a mutation of a terrifying creature. if mo didn't grow up and into moss mutation while with the scavengers, then mo would have had a harder time getting the scavs to trust moss. as it is, all mo can do is act in a way that wont scare scavs,, but what an exhausting life to lead, acting unnaturally just to be trusted by those around you. labelled weird, or even dangerous, for just being alive. anyway the scavs do hold some fondness for both monstera and monger, so the two slugcats leave home with gifts. a mask and two pearls for monger, and the finest spear for monstera. not that thats saying much, its still just a spear
[looks at my outline for finding myself homeward bound] like, none of this shows up in the story btw. theres some scavenger interaction, but the main story happens after m&m left the grand tree community,, ,
#gamble the queue#art#my art#digital art#artists on tumblr#rain world#drawing#sketch#doodle#monstera and monger#finding myself homeward bound#slugcat#slugcat oc#rw monstera#rw monger#dont. look to close at the background. it was like 3am when i coloured this dont @ me#anyway i just wanted to worldbuild about scavs a little and show a little bit about why monstera and monger left#like. why theyre travelling and why monger in particular is good with scavs. but its also a bit about monstera and mongers life

Drama rec masterlist | Drama rant thread (beware of spoilers)
This drama started out so good - the perfect rom-com with childhood friends meeting again later in life, now at a time when they can finally start acting on the feelings they've had for each other in secret; young adults trying their best to come to terms with how their dreams might not be what they first wanted them to.
It's cute and funny, and while it does stay that way throughout, it eventually felt like they started repeating themselves.
Which also leads me to the main frustration I have with this drama - miscommunication. This entire drama is built around people just absolutely refusing to sit down and have a rational conversation with each other. I'm not saying people aren't allowed to have some things they don't want to discuss, or be worried about how people will react - that's all fine and normal, miscommunications are a part of life that way. They are supposed to be adult people in their 30s, but act like teenagers.
Every single conflict in this drama stems from nobody talking to each other. They misunderstand something, fight about it and eventually resolve it - then learn absolutely nothing and go on to do it again. And again. It's to the point where I couldn't even enjoy the actors doing a good job, because their lines just made me so annoyed.
I want to like this drama so much, because it is doing a lot of things right - it does have that typical rom-com feel to it that I really like. But I got so frustrated watching these characters have no growth at all.
And the second couple is just so weird to me. I can't say too much without spoiling, but while I see what they were going for, it just ended up being kind of creepy. Had the roles been reversed, with her being the single parent, it would not have been a romance story at all. At least if you ask me.
I know I'm complaining a lot, but that's only because I'm so disappointed. This could have been so good! But it just falls so flat.
If you do enjoy rom-coms you can give this a chance, if you don't mind the low stakes and miscommunication drama - I can see some people like this drama for what it is.

"Jade and Blossoms: A Father's Love for Y/N"
Pairings: Dad Zhongli x Child Reader
In the picturesque land of Liyue, amidst the towering mountains and vibrant markets, there lived a wise and revered man named Zhongli. Known for his unwavering determination and profound knowledge, Zhongli was highly regarded by the people of Liyue. But there was one person who held an even more special place in his heart – his beloved daughter, Y/N.
Y/N was a spirited and curious little girl, just two years old, with eyes as bright as the morning sun and a smile that could light up even the darkest corners of the world. She had inherited her father's love for history and the beauty of the earth. Wherever she went, Y/N would pick up pebbles, admire flowers, and listen intently to the whispers of the wind.
"Look, Papa! Look what I found!" Y/N exclaimed, her tiny hand holding up a smooth, round pebble she had discovered on their morning walk.
Zhongli knelt down, a gentle smile gracing his face. "Ah, my precious Y/N, you have an eye for beauty. That pebble is a treasure from the earth itself. Keep it close to your heart, just like I keep you close to mine."
Y/N nodded, her eyes shining with adoration. "I love you, Papa."
"And I love you, my dear Y/N, more than words can express," Zhongli replied, his voice filled with warmth and affection.
Every day, Zhongli would set aside time to spend with his daughter. He would take her on long walks through the serene gardens, pointing out the different types of flowers and plants, and teaching her their names. Y/N would eagerly absorb every piece of information, her tiny hand clutching onto her father's finger, cherishing these precious moments.
"Look, Papa! These flowers are so pretty," Y/N exclaimed, her tiny fingers gently touching the soft petals of a blooming rose.
Zhongli smiled, his eyes twinkling with pride. "Yes, my dear. This is a rose, a symbol of love and beauty. Just like you, Y/N. You are my most beautiful flower."
In the evenings, as the golden sunset bathed Liyue Harbor in a warm glow, Zhongli would sit with Y/N in his study, surrounded by ancient tomes and artifacts. He would regale her with tales of forgotten civilizations and mythical creatures, weaving enchanting stories that captured her imagination. Y/N would sit in awe, her eyes wide with wonder, as her father's words painted vivid pictures in her mind.
"Papa, tell me another story," Y/N pleaded, snuggling closer to Zhongli.
Chuckling softly, Zhongli obliged. "Once upon a time, in a land far away, there was a magnificent dragon who guarded a treasure beyond measure. The dragon's scales shimmered like precious gems, and its wings could create mighty gusts of wind..."
Y/N listened intently, her imagination taking flight as she pictured the majestic dragon soaring through the skies.
Zhongli's affection for Y/N knew no bounds. He showered her with love and attention, tending to her every need and fulfilling her innocent wishes. From chasing butterflies in the garden to building sandcastles by the Liyue coastline, Zhongli cherished each and every moment with his precious daughter.
"Papa, can we build a sandcastle like the ones we saw at the beach?" Y/N asked, her eyes sparkling with excitement.
Zhongli nodded, a playful glint in his eyes. "Of course, my little sand architect. Let's create a castle fit for royalty!"
And so, with buckets and shovels in hand, they spent the afternoon sculpting towers and digging mo
ats, laughing and sharing stories along the way.
One day, while strolling through the bustling streets of Liyue, Zhongli spotted a delicate jade pendant in a merchant's stall. Its intricate carvings depicted a blooming lotus, a symbol of purity and enlightenment. He knew in an instant that it was meant for Y/N.
"Y/N, close your eyes," Zhongli said, his voice filled with anticipation.
Y/N obediently shut her eyes, giggling with excitement.
"Now, open them," Zhongli said, presenting the pendant to his daughter.
When Y/N saw the precious gift her father held, her eyes lit up like stars in the night sky. Gently, Zhongli fastened the pendant around her neck, symbolizing his eternal love and protection.
"It's beautiful, Papa! I'll treasure it forever," Y/N whispered, her voice filled with awe.
As the years went by, Y/N grew older, but her bond with her father remained unbreakable. Zhongli continued to guide her, teaching her the wisdom of the earth and nurturing her spirit. And Y/N, in turn, blossomed into a young woman filled with grace and a deep appreciation for the world around her.
Though the years brought change, Zhongli's love for Y/N only grew stronger. He cherished every memory they shared, from her first steps in the garden to her triumphant achievements as she grew older. In his heart, Zhongli knew that Y/N was his greatest treasure, a gift that made his life complete.
And so, the tale of Zhongli and Y/N continues, their love enduring through the ages. As Liyue thrives under the watchful gaze of the Geo Archon, the bond between father and daughter remains unbreakable, a testament to the power of family and the enduring strength of love.

The Modern Lovers - Boston Center for the Arts, Boston, Massachusetts, February 23, 1974
The end of the Original Modern Lovers? This might've been the band's final official gig — thanks to Jesse J for passing along a recently surfaced tape. Jesse calls the recording's quality "atrocious," and he's not wrong (though it's as much the fault of the venue's cavernous acoustics as it is the tape's). Whatever, atrocious quality audience recordings are what Doom & Gloom is all about, am I right? So adjust your ears and take a trip back to a bitter New England winter just about 50 years ago.
Historic/interesting stuff! The set sees the Modern Lovers attempting to bring together their older, more VU-inspired material with the quieter, more innocent songs that Jonathan Richman was writing. There are tunes that will certainly be familiar — "Roadrunner," "Government Center," "Pablo Picasso," etc. And then there are several strong songs that — as far as I know — don't appear anywhere else in the Modern Lovers' discography (officially or unofficially). And hey, it all works pretty well; in some alternate universe, the band might've been able to reconcile their two sides and finally record a proper debut LP. It was not to be, alas — soon, Jerry Harrison would head back to Harvard to get his master's degree in architecture. And today, he is renowned as one of the world's greatest architects ... right???
Of course, we have to note the truly bonkers lineup — a heretofore unknown alignment with the Velevet (sic) Underground and George Thorogood galaxies. Though if the description below is correct (though the source says the date was Valentine's Day), Moe Tucker didn't even get to play because of George. That's truly b-b-b-b-bad. But, as Jesse pointed out, Jonathan and Moe did make it into the studio a few days later to record their charming rendition of the VU's "I'm Sticking With You." Was Moe's band really called the Bloody Virgins?! Hmmm, further investigation is warranted.
An eyewitness account? Although the Modern Lovers broke up in 1973, they reformed in '74 (maybe late '73) with a different drummer but that didn't last long because the drummer hated Jonathan. They did at least one concert: Valentine's Day 1974. I was there early with Jonathan so I got to see all the sound checks for all three bands. Unfortunately, the idiot promoters let the mediocre opening band, George Thoroughlynogood and the Delaware Destroyers, play for one hour and 45 minutes. They should have had 25 minutes max. Thus, the Modern Lovers could only play one hour. And the second band couldn't play at all, which is very unfortunate, as it was Mo Tucker's excellent (and totally unknown) all-girl band the Bloody Virgins (but me and Jonathan got to watch their excellent 25-minute sound check). Seven or either years ago, an internet music forum was discussing Mo, and I talked about seeing that band. A noted music critic (and friend of Mo) was pissed off and said that Mo never had any such band and that I was a liar. Luckily, I still had the concert ad and uploaded a photo of it to the forum.
Ernie Brooks: At one of the last gigs we did, when we played “Roadrunner,” we still didn’t have a record out, but that was always a catchy song, and we actually got some applause—and then Jonathan said, “People like that song too much; I don’t think we should do it anymore….” I think it was just part of Jonathan’s natural inclination that when things seemed to be going well—to go against it. He was very contrary. He was very difficult. I mean, anybody who is on to something new has some element of being a contrarian, because they’re rejecting the status quo. They’re doing something in the way they’ve figured out how to do it—and they don’t want to hear something different, even if it could make things better. When Jonathan said, “I won’t play 'Roadrunner' anymore,” it was pretty much the classic case—you can’t really get any more contrarian than that.
