**CHARACTER BIOGRAPHY:**

born in america - mobius was born to a muggle family and during the earlier years of his life, everything seemed to be normal, happy and well. he’d always been a curious child, interested in anything and everything, which his parents nurtured. however, when it became apparent that he had magic, that was something that freaked them out a little bit. he did then find himself in england when his parents moved over for work - which happened to be just in time for a letter from hogwarts to turn up on their doorstep. this wasn’t something that they were particularly happy about but mobius was going whether they liked it or not.

in general, he was a somewhat reserved and quiet kid while growing up, his curiosity to learn and know more taking presidence over exploring who he was as a person. of course, that all comes with growing up and getting older, all part of the experience. and during his 5th year, while studying for exams, he found himself developing quite the soft spot for a fellow slytherin student who soon became his boyfriend. relationships might be just a normal thing, not such a huge revelation but for mobius, it was a big thing for him to acknowledge and accept a part of himself that he’d perhaps been hiding from. and when wanting to share his news with his parents - things didn’t go down well. long story short: ties with them were severed and he chose to stay true to himself rather than try to make them happy. this relationship, however, came to a messy end in their 6th year when he learned that loki had pledged his loyalty to the death eaters, which felt like such a betrayal to him.

after this and after hogwarts, as well as being part of the order, mobius buried himself in work/obsessing over it. anything to keep the mind busy.

Not at all. I don't have many published works to begin with.

I only recently got back into writing fic, and i'm fairly new to the Lokius fandom (plus I hadn't published anything in 6 years). I actually have many, many, WIPs for this ship because I started writing Lokius way back in like, January (my notes app is nothing but half started lokius fics and ideas hfjgkhdg)

I was also very active in the Legends of Tomorrow and Gotham fandoms back in the day (Ray/Leonard and Oswald/Ed own my entire fucking LIFE), so all those stats make sense.

The fact that the porny tags are my top tags is... not surprising at all LMFAO but I'm also Not Good at tagging tbh (I need to get better at that)

If Mobius thinks Loki is just an unhinged analyst, knows nothing about him, none of the Minutemen or Hunters he passed think twice about him, then Loki can totally have a mini breakdown in custody and then lie out his teeth about being part of the TVA who was idk glitched during the branching chaos, and Mobius being Mobius would be immediately understanding and cut to partner shenanigans 2.0 as Loki tries to fix the pending doom from inside the TVA AND trigger Mobius' memories, maybe investigate for a footage reel of his variant self and Mobius in the totally classified archives he definitely has clearance for now, and basically what I am saying is, someone please write this I just think it would be Neat 🥺

Episode 5 thoughts 💭 in no particular order (almost a week late lmao)

I really love the opening shot of the TVA starting upside down then slowly panning in a circle to finally be right side up. Love that for the cinematographer and love that for us.

Throg my beloved I really wanted the Loki’s fighting to somehow free you and mew-mew from your prison. Ah at least there’s fanfic for that.

Sylvie was a mood this episode. I didn’t expect her to self prune, but as she knew she wasn’t killing herself I can see where she was coming from. Loki’s survive and she saw that as her best chance to not only survive but to find Loki and discover who is behind the TVA

Also the that shot where she self pruned was amazing. Chef’s 💋

Speaking of Sylvie the team up with Mobius was unexpectedly organic. I expected there to be a bit more tension than we got, but Mobius’s dad-mode was on and kind of great.

I want to read all the fic about that car ride tho. Mobius had to have brought up his theory about what caused the Nexus event on Lamentis. And Sylvie probably asked him wtf he was on. Loki and her being in love with each other? Are you high Mobius? Or just jealous?

Also I absolutely got Sylvie ships Lokius vibes the whole dang time. And now I need to read the fic where Sylvie gives Mobius a very awkward but threatening shovel talk.

Sylvie about Loki:

I gotta admit Marvel has got me curious about Renslayer and I wonder how close MCU and comic canon are going to be.

I kind of think she’s been a little mind wiped, but she could also be a Renslayer variant and Kang is with his “Sacred Timeline” version of her.

One thing is for certain I am absolutely certain she’s going to make it out of the season alive and that she’s set up to become a great antagonist in her own right. And I’m excited for it.

Annual note to say that my boy Casey still doesn’t know what a fish is. ☹️

I know that technically he’s an alligator but he’s still Croki in my heart.

Also it would be hilarious if he was actually a Thor variant but he hid as Croki to be able to hang out with as many versions of his sibling as he could. I think it would be a very Thor thing to do tbh.

Someone already wrote Croki as Thor fic, go read it.

Classic Loki was a treat tbh. Richards E Grant was cast perfectly and I really want to see more of his Loki. And I don’t think he’s dead.

The way he missed Thor and his home on Asgard. I bet he used to recreate Asgard all the time when he was hiding out in self imposed exile. 😭😭😭😭

The way that Kid Loki and Classic Loki seem to be the closest to each other. Both obviously miss their brother and while Kid Loki is King I feel like it’s because he doesn’t truly want the throne, which makes him the best person to have it. If you know what I mean.

Those two probably were expecting to be betrayed by Boastful, but were sill unimpressed to be proven right.

As for Boastful Loki — I wish we had gotten to see more from him. Like yeah we got more of him than President Loki, but I would have loved to see two episodes with Boastful traveling with our Loki and the group. I want to be able to fall in love with his take on being a Loki and then I want the surprise but not of all the Loki’s betraying each other. It would have added to the dramatic tension of the story and further highlighted our Loki’s disappointment in that character trait in himself.

I am also super disappointed that Mobius wasn’t in that scene. Him watching Loki watch his variants betray each other would have sure been something.

Also Sylvie’s reaction of complete Wtf would have been a goldmine.

That Sylvie & Loki scene sure was a thing, but I’m choosing and have almost convinced myself to see it platonically. The way that both Sylvie and Loki called themselves part of the same person the whole episode gives me hope.

I also want to the the dumpster fire that is President Loki again. We barely got to see him and I already know he’s more chaotic than our Loki ever was.

Lokius hug. They did the thing?!?!

Ah we were well fed by that hug. But I still want more and I may be clowning but I really think we’ll see Loki and Mobius interact again before the end of the next episode. 🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡

This is getting long but I got to call out my bestie Loki. I’m pretty sure he didn’t fully stay with Sylvie out of loyalty but because he doesn’t fully trust her. Also his curiosity must be killing him tbh. I think what Loki wants is three-fold:

He wants to know who or what is behind the TVA

He wants to support Sylvie but also make sure that she’s not going to screw over Mobius and the other TVA variants. Loki’s got an emotional stake in this and while I think he genuinely likes Sylvie and can appreciate how awesome she is. He hasn’t forgotten that she’s a Loki variant and as we saw this episode Loki’s stab each other in the back to get what they want.

He mentioned in episode 3 about a power vacuum if someone took down the time keepers and I bet he wants to see the shape of everything before he fully decides what to do about that potential vacuum

What I’m saying I guess is, I think things have the potential to get very messy in the finale.

The apartment is cold.

When you return home, having not even caught a glimpse of Mobius at all at work, you expect him to be waiting for you at the front door.

Usually, when you guys fight, he’s the first to make up. You’re far too prideful to be the one to try to mend things, and he is… Mobius. He’s Mobius, with his bitter morning coffees and gentle smile, with his messy hair and crinkled work shirts. He’s your Mobius.

But he isn’t anywhere in sight when you arrive. Instead of his kind eyes and bright smile, you’re met with silence. Unnerving, deafening silence.

You furrow your brows.

Sure, you two weren’t on the best of terms, but he would tell you if he was staying late at the office, right? He always does. That’s the one thing you two pride yourself on - communication.

And sure, maybe some harsh words were exchanged between you two this morning, but it was nothing that hadn’t already been said. And it was nothing a long, tiring day at work couldn’t wash away.

Yet, he isn’t anywhere in sight.

As if in response to his absence, the apartment you share feels all too big for just one person. Alone, in this large penthouse, you suddenly feel out of place. As if something crucial is missing. And you know just what it is.

What feel like hours pass, and you busy yourself with running around the house - Rearranging your furniture, dusting the random knick-knacks lying around, placing things in the kitchen back where they belong. You even find the time to do a full exercise video.

More feeling like hours passing. He still isn’t here.

You sigh, reaching for your TemPad. Maybe he sent you a message and you just happened to miss it. At the sight of the red bubble around your messaging app, your heart soars - But it comes crashing down again once you see that it’s only a co-worker.

Dammit. This isn’t like him. This isn’t like your Mobius. You’ve had fights before, and this morning’s wasn’t even the worst. Or was it? You don’t know, you really don’t. Everything feels like it’s too much. It’s just… Too much.

A sudden knock on the front door startles you out of your flurried thoughts, and you jump. Who could that be at this hour? You certainly weren’t expecting anyone. Unless…

Before you can help yourself, a smile breaks out on your face. It’s Mobius. Of course it is. He probably just forgot his keys again, like the forgetful person he is. How silly, he’d teased you about being careless just last week, and now he’s locked outside. You’d get a kick out of seeing him-

“Y/N.”

Oh.

Ravonna Renslayer stands at your door, her face stern and void of emotion. Ravonna Renslayer. At your house.

“May I come in?” Her face slips into one of artificial cheeriness, and you usher her in with shaky hands. How you wish Mobius was with you. He’d know how to charm her, how to ease the tension that’s steadily filling the room. He’d rub your hand and whisper comforting words to you. He’d be by your side.

You lead her to the living room, glad that you’d tidied the place earlier. “Please, have a seat.”

Seated across from you, Ravonna Renslayer is calm. She’s tall and serious and in control. She’s the quintessential poster child of the TVA, in all its unwavering loyalty and goodness.

“Um, is everything alright? I don’t mean to be rude,” you fiddle with the books on the coffee table, a desperate attempt to appear unaffected by her unannounced arrival, “But I wasn’t expecting you to visit so suddenly.”

“Unfortunately, things are far from alright,” she says, setting down the tea you offered her moments ago. You note how she barely touched it, feeling only slightly miffed by that. The least she can do is appreciate the tea you made. It’s difficult to make a good cup, given Mobius’s bad taste in tea brands.

Renslayer continues, “You’re aware of the mission Mobius most recently went on, correct?”

“The one at Roxxcart? The one where Loki got away?”

You’re aware. Mobius had come home, raging and frustrated that Loki, whom he’d put his utmost trust into, had betrayed him so easily.

You spent the night with him, in his arms, comforting him. It took a long time for the two of you to fall asleep that night, the weight of Loki’s disappearance and the mission’s “failure” hanging over you.

“Exactly. There was a… complication. And Mobius… He was part of that complication.”

“I’m sorry, I don’t quite understand,” you say slowly, shaking your head. What does this have to do with you? What “complication” is she speaking of? How was Mobius a part of that?

Why is she using past tense?

“You see,” she shifts in her seat, leaning forward. You blink, unsettled. “When it comes down to things, and I have to choose between the safety TVA and… certain individuals, you understand why I have to choose the TVA, right?”

What? You don’t quite understand, but nevertheless, you put on a shaky smile and nod.

“So you must understand why I had to… eliminate the complication.”

Your heart stops at that. “The complication? The same one… The same one Mobius was a part of…?”

Renslayer doesn’t respond, but the silence only confirms your worst fears.

You finally understand. You understand everything. Why you never saw Mobius for the rest of the day, why he never came home, why there were no messages, why his last seen on his TemPad location was off. Why he was gone.

“You didn’t,” you clap a hand over your mouth, the blood rushing to your head as you blink rapidly. No, no. This can’t be happening. There’s no possible way…

“I pruned him,” Renslayer confirms, holding her head high.

You let out a choked sob, collapsing onto the sofa as heavy sobs wrack through your body. No. He can’t… He can’t be gone… He promised you, before he took on this stupid, stupid mission, that he would be safe. That he’d stay alive. For you.

“I understand the pain you’re going through-”

“Please, just, stop,” you cut her off, unable to stand the sound of her voice any longer. "I'm sorry."

You never liked Renslayer much, always finding her too bossy and too overbearing, but now, you hate her. You despise her with every inch of your being, with every fiber in your body. You hate her. You hate her for what she did, for tearing the love of your life away from you.

You can’t even look at her, pushing past her to wrench open the door. “Please, I... I have to ask you to leave,” you say bitterly. “I need some privacy.”

She nods, resolutely, no emotion on her face, and gets up to leave.

The moment she steps out your door, the moment your door is shut, you break.

How? How could this happen? How could you let this happen?

You bury your head in your hands, the hopelessness of it all becoming too much. He swore to you, swore that he would always be there for you, that he’d always be there to stand up for you and protect you.

Where is he now, when you need him the most?

You aren’t sure how long you stay like this, curled up on the floor, back pressed against the cool surface of your doorframe, your tears staining your work clothes, and your throat dry from the frustrated screaming. You aren’t sure how long you sit there, thinking, trying to imagine a future without Mobius, a future where you don’t have the one thing you want in this miserable in-between existence. And you can’t. Try as you might, you just can’t picture it - wherever you will be, whenever you will be, you know you will miss him.

So you know what you have to do.

The buzz of your baton almost startles you. As you gaze down at the sparkling orange light emitting from its tip, you brace yourself, shutting your eyes and thinking of all that is good in this world, all that has been and has yet to be, and you think of Mobius.

What is life without him? What joy can there be in the monotonous, dull routine of case after case, imperfection after imperfection? How can you see in the darkness of it all if your only light has been extinguished?

You think of his kind eyes that twinkle and shine when he laughs, his tired smile when he stumbles into bed after a long day at work, the feeling of his lips pressed against your forehead when you’ve had a particularly bad day. You think of him.

And you press the baton to your chest, and feel yourself disintegrate.

“Where will you go? When all this is over.”

They were standing side by side, overlooking the chaos of the TVA as it burnt in flames. Quite literally, as Loki was a man of his words. The statues of the three time lords stood cracked and crumbling, their heads broken off and shattered at their own feet. Agents were shouting, enraged and vengeful, taking whatever part they could get their hands on in smashing the TVA to the ground. Pride swelled in Loki’s chest, looking on from the high balcony of the library. In all the different iterations of his self-proclaimed purpose, this was by far the most glorious.

A beat passed, half a second long. Then, “With you.”
