We all know the semi-canonical ‘all the Robins know to hide/duck inside of Batman’s cape, even as adults’ thing.

We also know that Danny ‘is LITERALLY a ghost’ Fenton sucks at remembering his own intangibility while ALSO forgetting to look ahead of him.

All I’m saying is, Danny Fenton (or Phantom, if you’d really like) would absolutely SLAM into Batman on accident while running on roof tops and Bruce ‘Brooding Instinct’ Wayne doesn’t even think twice about letting the kid hide and scanning around for danger before there’s a record scratch of ‘wait who tf is this?’ kicks in.

Daily excerpt from today's writing, chapter 49 of A Stain that Won't Dissolve:

‘Um, it’s not...’ Alex hedged, because he couldn’t think of how to phrase it. ‘I’m just- I’ve been... I’ve had more cleaning jobs and I-’ ‘What about if we went to once every two weeks instead!’ Robin said, like she was doing the best job ever at problem-solving Alex’s life. Sebastian made it back to Alex’s side, and stood close to him. ‘Mom,’ he said, ‘you really deserve to have a good cleaner here, but Alex was treated pretty badly by Demetrius.’ Robin’s expression seemed to pause for a few seconds, and then her smile was rueful, and she sighed, taking off the thick gloves she was wearing and placing one of her hands on her hips. ‘If you came during the day, I could make sure he was out doing his surveying and science, but with the hours-’ ‘He shouldn’t have to leave his own home, ma’am,’ Alex said quickly. ‘It’s not- I’m not asking for that. It’s just me. You know. I’m not- It’s just me.’ ‘Alex,’ Sebastian said, staring at him. ‘It is though,’ Alex said quickly. ‘Just- I’m not good with... Just with everything. He’s fine. He just has high standards for you.’ ‘Alex,’ Sebastian said firmly. ‘He literally told you that your grandparents wouldn’t be proud of you if they knew what you were doing.’

Adana muttering under the cut

Adana Taveth is going to be a half elf bard of the lore college unless i lose to the overwhelming lesbian urge to wield a fancy sword, fancily.

But well-adjusted children rarely grow up to become bards :)

The oldest child of a moderately well-to-do human family, Adana was the result of Mommy's last rebellion before her arranged marriage to an entirely decent but very boring man, which she fully intended to be as hurtful and humiliating as possible for everyone involved. Adana grew up as something like Faerun's equivalent of a beauty pageant child, because her mother loved to remind everyone just how OUTRAGEOUS she was in her wild youth, and parading her obviously bastard half elf child about was the most scandalous entertainment she could drum up while still maintaining a veneer of 'respectability.'

Because of this, Adana is very well-educated and accomplished from a lifetime spent trying to be worthy. Even the worst attention was worse than being ignored, which was what her mother did for the rest of her siblings.

Her mother's husband was as eminently decent to her as he was to his terrible wife, and Adana has always desperately wished she was his bastard instead, but they have (in her opinion, understandably) never been close. She's been used as a tool to hurt him too often.

Anyways! True to bard form, Adana is flamboyantly, fabulously bisexual, and had a fairly outrageous youth of her own because her mother rewarded her outrageous behavior. She is bisexual, but she hates playing it up the way she does. She still does it because it's still useful to her for getting tips and preferential treatment if nothing else and if the shoes don't fit... well, at least she's used to the pinch. She's already broken them in.

She is, however, incredibly closeted about being bigender/genderfluid. Adran is just a prince charming fantasy she made up, don't be silly. It's not like she can go back in time and have spent her childhood as a boy. And to be the strapping young man she occasionally would like to be, that would have to have been the case. If she fools around with a cap and disguise every once in a while, well. That's just playing a game. Actors play roles for different genders all the time.

Anyways! All of this has made her an incredibly spiky, embittered ball of resentment and she is going to hide it until the day she dies or finally snaps. Because as far as she's seen, things like talent and decency are a product of choices, not circumstances, and she is damn well going to choose to be different.

Practice makes perfect. Always has, always will.

Granted, Princess Amy had several fairy godmothers who gave her various gifts, but Crustacea gave her the gift of being Ordinary, which was definitely the most significant!

Katriona:

An adaptation of Sleeping Beauty, Katriona wasn't originally going to be one of the princess' fairy godparents (she was simply a guest there for the naming day, and probably only 16ish at the time, but I am having a difficult time figuring out her age other than she was a young woman), but when the evil fairy showed up gave her cursed gift, she rushed up and babbled her own gift, and was given custody of the princess to protect her. She and her aunt do her best to raise the princess with the hope that "ordinariness" will protect her from the evil fairy's plans.

I often associate Robin with various flora as he often gardens, and one of the herbs he is always carrying on him is Rosemary! I think its slightly minty, sage-like, peppery, balsamic, woody aftertaste is pretty fitting for him! That's quite a mouthful of a description though, sadly rosemary is hard to compare to anything else. Mmm.... another flavor I could see would be freshly bloomed honeysuckle nectar, notes of citrus and honey (duh).
