Just a lil guy that got fished up by a big guy. <3 The lyrics make me think of them looking each others' eyes for the first time and becoming bonded as brothers. <3

Owl City - The Bird and The Worm ~ Quintessential Sails+Catfish song! References to fishing, the ocean, and just overall a cheery cute bop? Yeah! <3 There's a few lines that make me think of Sails/Black Rose, too (about twirling around under the stars and making each other blush). I can see this whole song as an animatic with the three of them in my head. :>

MIKA - Big Girl (You Are Beautiful) ~ SILLY, but it makes me think of Sails hyping up his man as a hottie because he thinks he's too shy to meet people (romantically). Maybe because Sails finally won Black Rose's affection and is drunk on love, so he wants his homie to find someone, too. But Catfish, whether he's aroace, unsure, or just not interested at the time, is like "bro, cut that out oAo" (but in a more Catfish way xD) and Sails is like "Oh, my bad. Lemme know if you change your mind. :D"

Dan Crow - Walk Outside ~ This song is corny as shit. I first heard it in a movie I watched all the time as a wee kiddo called "Milo and Otis." It makes me think of an au where Sails, Catfish, and Rosie get turned into animals (or ferals or whatever you want to call it) and are poofed to a scenic farm setting. They live out the rest of their lives in bliss and nothing bad ever happens EVER and it's wholesome af.

I remember once upon a time when I thought about a fic I never ended up writing

It's about Milo and Sweetheart and Aggro and how Aggro is actually a criminal werecat who stole secret documents from the department and got caught. As a punishment, the department did some magical fuckery on him, and now he's constantly caught in his werecat form and very smol. After months in captivity, he escaped and Milo found him on the streets and adopted him without knowing he'd be harboring a criminal. Aggro is now working on getting back all the magic the department took from him/messed up so he can shift back and steal more documents or maybe live a normal life who knows

Modern au headcannons for upcoming stories

These head cannons are for my modern au that is set in the early 90's and extends through to present day. Ocs will come later for right now Isa and Dolores are only smol

Pepa owns a small business where she makes custom jewelry with crystals she tumbles herself. She also makes photo frames and nerdy home decor to sell.

Julieta runs a catering business out of the home. She has plenty of room and is excellent at time management. Her clients always leave astonishingly large tips for her because the quality of her work is so high.

Agustin is a carpenter, he works from 6am to 8 pm on weekdays and has weekends off unless there is an important deadline. He usually brings home the biggest weekly pay unless it's the holidays, then Pepa brings in big bucks for her commissions.

Felix works with his brothers at their pool and outdoor refurbishment company, depending on the day he could install a pool, mow lawns, pressure wash sidewalks, etc. He goes in at 7am after dropping the kids at school and is often home either by or before 6 the next evening. Rare occasions have him working later especially if complications arise with a pool

Isa and Dolores are extremely crafty and responsible. There's always some type of craft or project in progress between them. In their spare time they like to do all sorts of things as far as sports or creativity goes.

Luisa is often roped into the eldest two's shenanigans and she loves it because sometimes she feels left out because she's two years younger than them.

Mirabel and Camilo love to run and play while Pepa and Julieta keep watch. When they're playing their favorite game to play is pretend, Camilo has such a big imagination and Mirabel feeds off of him. They can come up with some wild stories

Dolores and mariano are high school sweethearts

Casita keeps magically growing and each kid has a subdued gift (ex Pepa only controls the weather of the room she's in or has a small cloud above her head only, Isabela can only make flowers bloom or form flowers in her hands)

Bruno is a truck driver and is seldom home, he comes home only for holidays or if he's in the area.

The house is on a half acre property and is completely fenced in.

All kids have bicycles and roller skates. The five of them like to take the evening and go around the block. The eldest can go by themselves to most places in town. Luisa is usually accompanied but can go on her own if she pleases, Mir and Milo must be accompanied if they leave the property.

There is a large backyard swing set and play house for the children to play on.

The eldest girls have flip phones. Though they hardly ever use them unless it's an emergency. They all love playing games on the family Nintendo (GameCube, then Wii after Christmas 2003)

To prevent arguments each family member has their own Gamecube and Wii remote to use.

@arrowfleur, thank you for the ask about Balancing Act! I'm thrilled to have the chance to talk about it. This is a wonderful question, and I went through a lot of different pairings in my head before settling on who swaps powers with whom. Since I know you've read the first two chapters, I know you can infer the swaps, but just in case anyone hasn't yet read the story and wants to avoid spoilers, I'll put my answer under the cut.

I knew right from the first word that I wanted David and Angel to swap powers, so that David would have the chance to move about the world as an unempowered human and Angel a shifter alpha. I felt like this pairing made sense and offered a lot of opportunity for drama and tension. My first inclination was to have all the mates swap with mates, but honestly, that almost seemed boring. If we did that, then the David/Angel dynamic mirrored the Asher/Babe dynamic. Moreover, so did the Darling/Sam and Milo/Sweetheart dynamic, with the non-wolves "becoming" wolves and the wolves beings some sort of other specialty. Besides that, I felt like pairing the mates together was going to be really limiting. One common thread in a lot of my fics is that I like to write interactions between the pack members we often don't get to see, to explore their relationships, so it made sense that Balancing Act would follow suit. So the possibilities were wide open!

So, from there, I got to thinking, which pairings made sense for the story? I knew Babe needed to be magical, but not a wolf, so that led to their swapping with either Sam or Sweetheart. I imagine that they are all great friends, but I realized I also wanted Sweetheart to stay magical, though struggle with having their immense power taken away from them, meaning Babe had to swap with Sam.

Likewise, I wanted Milo to have the chance to experience another wolf's body (since he has a history of struggling with his smol but mighty wolf), but David was already paired up with Angel, leaving Asher or Darling. BUT I wanted Darling to swap to a nonshifter, but I couldn't pair them with Sam (since he was paired with Babe)... It was like a logic puzzle! I was going crazy, arrowfleur!

A gamechanger for the pairings occurred when I figured out a way to open up the swap to non-Shaw Pack people, that's when things really got interesting! Originally, when I thought I could pair Sweetheart with a telepath who wasn't very skilled in other types of magic, I had imagined they would swap powers with a perp they had just arrested, but that ended up being too complicated, and I'm so glad for that, because changing the swap to Cutie let me depict Sweetheart's and Cutie's friendship, work Geordi and his bakery into the fic, and streamlined the plot to keep things manageable. That decision also provided an opportunity for Darling to experience a completely different type of magic, and frankly, Huxley was the first one I thought of there because I think it makes total sense they'd see each other at the DAMN student gym and have a blast digging holes together. I very much like the contrast for Darling because they had once felt they needed to socialize the likes of Quinn. But now that they've healed and grown, they get to have someone like Huxley in their life. Plus, earth-elemental Darling was super-duper fun to write, so it made sense for the plot to take that shape.

Overall, I think the pairings provided me with the opportunities to explore the characters in a way that felt fun, engaging, unexpected, and hopefully, authentic. We shall see as the story progresses! Thanks again for the ask!

okay, always liked the idea of WIP Wednesday but hated the format of it, so imma do my own thing. It probably won't be a weekly thing but every once in a while I might update something here or there and wish to share it.

Now onto the good stuff. I could post fic wips but I post snippets all the time so that doesn't count very much. However, I do have a silly little world that I've been cooking up, and it would be encouraging if I could talk about it a little bit here and there :D SO here's what I have for y'all this time:

Daimons (Daemons, Demons) are one of my favourite creations (keywords: one of) and I'm so excited to talk about them. Here's a smol rundown.

Daimons were originally created by Terra to “bridge the gap” between The Hellish and the Humans. There are four main pillars: Dike which is justice, Eros which is love, Mnemosyne which is memory, and Thanatos which is death. There are three subgroups, one that is an extension of Mnemosyne. These are: Hypnos, power over one’s sleep, and the extension to Mnemosyne; Eris, which is to represent strife/rage, which are often demonic bodyguards; and Hygeia which is a representation of health.

And, as a lil treat, a little bit about a Daimon's appearance: All Daimons that coalesce in Panchaia will have a mark by their left temple. This mark is thought to be the mark of Terra herself, as a parting gift. Daimons can have wings, tails, horns, and scales depending on what pilar they represent, but it is also personalized. No one daimon looks similar.

I'd also be open to questions about these sillies because I am itching for excuses to talk about them, but that is up to yall if you're interested enough.
