Gin Verso 2 harness #minireview part 1: After nearly a year of flying a hammock pod, it was time for a change and the opportunity to add to my currently small selection of kit for the coming season. My criteria? Light, easy to use, reversible, comfortable enough to fly decent XC distance, hike and fly-able, suitable for small volbiv trips, seatboard, Internal reserve container. After much deliberation I got hold of the @gingliders Gin #Verso2, it did not disappoint. From the second I wiggled into the harness right after takeoff I realised how much I had missed the ease of a good open seatboard harness. It felt so good to be back in the air, but what a change from the hammock compared to this. Straight away you notice its a rather deep harness, i’m 187cm (6’1) tall flying the large size harness and I felt engulfed by it which was a surprise, but actually a pleasant one that I quickly realised is part of what makes the harness so comfortable. It tunes out all that minuscule “muttering” from the wing that, in vaguely turbulent air you can feel in a seatboardless setup. However it is not a numb harness by any means, keeping you well informed about the wing above you with smooth but pronounced and identifiable feedback into both the seatplate and back plate.
