RANT #1: SHIP COMMENTS

I HATE HATE HATE how toxic sides of fandoms would pick on popular straight ships by commenting father-daughter on every other straight ship contents and had the balls to say "I'm allowed to have an opinion!🤪" like can you keep it to yourself and find contents that suits you?

Also.. father-daughter??? Seriously??? Do they even know what father-daughter relationship is like??? Or do they not have a father to know what father-daughter relationship actually is???

The straight ship apparently had

✅ Jaw dropping symbolisms

✅ Subtle flirty lines (seriously? what father daughter would flirt with each other)

✅ Treats each other like an equal and have no need for parental affection

✅ Has official crumbs from the creators

And they would be like, OMG FATHER DAUGHTER!

Don't get me started with the "siblings dynamic" they always gaslight themselves to believe in because apparently that certain straight ship gets in the way of the most sexualized/fetishized ml𝐦 ship that has no actual mlm shippers and was just created because some fans are so h0rny they want to get off by making two of the most random male characters f𝐯ck with each other and the most "obvious evidence" they could present is that the male characters are beside each other in the official art or "they give g𝐚y vibes" / one is dominant and the other is a "f𝐞mboy" self insert character.

...or maybe they're insecure about some female characters? ISTG they will always find a way to hate the most gorgeous/kind/gentle/well-written female characters especially when they're involved in a popular straight ship on which one of the characters (most of the time male) is also involved in a rival g𝐚y ship.

And when there's an actual healthy g𝐚y ship they'd act as if it doesn't exist, probably because the characters don't make them h0rny asf.

Like come on, just say you hate straight ships instead of finding the most ridiculous "evidences" to debunk them and shoehorn your headcanon to other people, ignoring the actual pieces of information presented to you because you're butt hurt from the truth and you use shipping g𝐚y characters to cope with a certain real life straight relationship trauma.

"Bakudeku is toxic because Katsuki bullied Izuku in the past!" There's nothing more hateful and toxic than apologizing for your very shitty past actions: catching him in the rain, despite absolutely HATING the rain, ignoring his own health for him, having his last words before he DIES be about Izuku, FIGHT to get to see izuku in the hospital when he's ALSO in a shitty state, thinking about Izuku 99% of the time—like always. It’s always “head empty, only river scene/Izuku,” sobbing because Izuku lost his quirk, which means he can’t be a hero. Wanting to "spend their entire lives competing together", keeping his hero ranks low on purpose just so that when Izuku becomes a hero again, they can compete for the number one spot. Dedicating EIGHT years of his life to earn well and probably live in a pretty crappy state because of that just so he makes SURE he gets the right tech and support course items to create the perfect suit for Izuku. Even if Izuku gave up on his dream, Katsuki didn't. Isn't that absolutely hateful and toxic!!!!!! Bakudeku is only toxic in season ONE AND TWO!!!!! Katsuki HAD character development wheather you like him or not!!!!

the izuocha vs bakudeku shipwar not dying off being getting STRONGER after the manga ended is SOOOO funny. I really enjoy watching it go down. I’ll scroll by a reel of one bashing the other and it’s just so entertaining. The manga ended and no one won and they’re both throwing rocks harder at each other.

and I think one of the things that makes it so absurdly funny to me is that, I’ve never seen a fandom-wide HUGE ship war, like THE ship war of the fandom, THE brawl for who gets the protagonist, be between a straight and gay ship. Talk about diversity in mainstream media, amirite? Like OF COURSE it’s bnha the fandom known for its gay shipping, but, bnha is still a shounen anime!! It has a LOT of dudebros! The bnha fandom has a lot of queers and a lot of dudebros, and you thought bnha was done? No, this is THE final battle, and they’re going head to head duking it all out.

..the bakusquad and the dekusquad thing were the most fun fandom things that'd ever happened. And they were also the only interesting characters--

Shoto is an honorary Bakusquad member idc (he and Bakugou are besties txt it)

Bakugou and Deku work better as friends/brothers. They aren't the friends/enemies to lovers trope, there are waay too many people to ship them with for yall to be so hungry for those two specifically. They're dynamic works better if it's platonic.

Mina being black coded and Sero being Hispanic is the best thing this fandoms ever thought up.

The Bakugou and Denki ship is grossly oversexualized on A03 but when its written right its geniunely cute

Bakugou x Uraraka is cute as hell (argue with the wall. People got way too upset when he did what he was suppose to when he fought her?? Acting like she didn't hold her own)

On the other hand. Uraraka and Deku are boring but cute

I can accept izuocha if it's gay and fucked up. I can accept izuocha if izuku is terrified of ochako because she's the first person to love him as an equal since katsuki and he used to believe that katsuki was going to kill him one day. if ochako drives herself insane with the fact that she trusts izuku completely but he obviously doesn't trust her the same. if both of them see each other as perfect, flawless, the ideal of heroism, almost holy. if each of them keeps secrets from the other because they know the other sees them as something precious and they think that if the illusion is shattered then their friendship will be lost and they'll have nothing without each other. if izuku used to be in love with katsuki and ochako reminds him of him so damn much and if ochako sometimes looks at izuku and gets queer gender envy. then they can make out

ok evidence for bakudeku (and/or togachako) to become canon:

- so mha starts out really normie/cishetero because we are shown good (heroes) and bad (villains) presented as a binary. this is a popular-held belief in society (i'm writing from the perspective of someone from america).

- but the story is now changing into bad (villians) isn't necessarily all bad and irredeemable. bad is just seen as bad because of trauma (especially childhood trauma).

- and we may end up seeing more "reform rather than prison" ideas pop up later too

- in other words, this manga/anime is liberal-leaning. queerness and progressive politics usually go hand in hand.

Hori is constantly presenting us with "shades of grey" vs. "black and white" thinking. Queerness is a shade of grey. How can it not be included at this point?
