Monika giggles often, even when being defensive, or nervous. She shares that quirk with Mewtwo's late sister Aitwo. Hence why he finds Monika's giggles comforting and warm somehow, because it subconsciously reminds him of the one childhood friend he had.

Okay, here is my first try for a comic arc? Basically to try out how drawing comics would work on my tablet and Ibis Paint X. Read this like a manga

Leading up to Mewtwo's first Christmas, when he has never partaken in human traditions before. This is from when Monika and Mewtwo haven't been together for very long yet (so basically at the beginning of their relationship). Monika basically...has no home she can return to, for a reason I will reveal soon enough.

It feels weirdly cathartic to now be able to draw what my 12 year old self never could but always wanted to.

Pet name: Miodzio (only Monika calls him that)

Origin: Kantonian Mewtwo created under orders from Giovanni of Team Rocket (He's Mewtwo from the first movie)

Birthday: 6th February 1998

Rough Storyline:

Is virtually unchanged from the first movie and the prequel with Aitwo

Is genetically related to Aitwo to the point of them being siblings (due to an experimentation by Dr. Fuji to infuse Aitwo's genes with Mew genes in later clones)

Difference in the story happens after the first movie and results in a changed storyline for "Mewtwo Returns"

During travels to find a new home for himself and his clones, he encounters Monika, a young human girl who is a fugitive of Team Rocket

Monika has known about Mewtwo beforehand due to her connections to Team Rocket, and was inspired by him to live on

Mewtwo finds himself in love with Monika eventually and the two begin a romantic relationship

This eventually falls apart for a few years during Monika's later teenage years, as the two lacked experience in serious relationships

Mewtwo spent a few years by himself in self-discovery, making new friends in the process

Later reunites with Monika during her travels in Kalos, rekindling their romance

Eventually starts a family

Headcanons about Mewtwo

Okay, I kinda felt like writing out some headcanons I got of Mewtwo. My Mewtwo (that I call Miodzio), is based on the one in the first Pokemon movie and "Mewtwo Returns". Except that in my version of events, Mewtwo found and got to know Monika slightly before the events of his second movie.

Anyway, here we go!

Contrary to how many fanfictions portray him, Mewtwo has no genetic connection to Giovanni whatsoever. Instead, he truly is the brother of Aitwo, sharing enough genes with her to make them siblings. Dr. Fuji, in his quest to give his cloned daughter Aitwo enough life energy and vitality to survive the cloning process (and not die after 4 years, as the radio drama implied), wanted to use Mew's genes, as it is said to be immortal. In order to upgrade a future clone Aitwo, he used Mewtwo to test if Mew and Aitwo's genes can be combined, resulting in a new Aitwo clone that would be strong enough to emerge and live outside the tank. The reason why Aitwo was able to contact Mewtwo psychically is because of this genetic link.

Contrary to popular belief, Mewtwo doesn't have much in common with your average housecat.

Mewtwo isn't at all comfortable being completely idle, as this causes his existential dread to pop up, and he has a strong need to find meaning in his existence. So I imagine that he is a seeker of knowledge and a bit of an inventor (especially since he was able to build an entire castle and an automatic cloning machine from scratch). I imagine that when settling down to a place of his choosing, he would have a large library of knowledge and a lab in his "man cave". Like, a library/laboratory hybrid.

Mewtwo is only really attracted to human women; a Pokemon mate would not do it for him, as he is far too human himself and too removed from the everyday Pokemon. Plus, I'd argue that his experience of warmth and comfort from his human sister Aitwo has subconsciously shaped this attraction.

Monika, with her habit of giggling whenever she is nervous, embarrassed or happy feels familiar to him, as this is one trait she shares with his sister.

Mewtwo is the self-sustaining type. He would build his own hydroponics garden if it's necessary to not rely on outside help.

Shaped by the experiences at Mount Quena and the healing waters, he would pursue a career as a Healer, maybe even invent new medicine to help sick and wounded Pokemon. (or, he could even go so far as to revolutionize medicine and help humans too. I imagine that he would be this mysterious figure who published amazing medical articles under a pseudonym, but nobody in the medical field has ever personally seen this mysterious man to their face! I bet Mewtwo would get a kick out of staying mysterious like this! XD Plus, I imagine he would be someone who definitely could find a cure for cancer!!)

Mewtwo suffers from depression.

Mewtwo at first wasn't very good when it comes to opening up to others. And when it comes to love and romantic relationships, there was a real war in his mind - is staying with a lover worth the potential loss of freedom? This was the question he needed to find a solution for.

Mewtwo is totally such an Aquarius (or at least in my mind, he shares so many traits and fits so many descriptions of this zodiac sign!)

Finally completed the picture I wanted to post for Mewtwo's birthday, but life got in the way, so I couldn't finish it in time for his birthday on the 6th. Oh well, better now than never, I hope you enjoy!

Just some sketches for a "Song comic" I never finished the coloring for.

The lyrics are from Arrient - Fall Into Me (Mendum Remix), which is a song I associate with Mewtwo, and especially his feelings of confusion when it comes to love and relationships. He doesn't know what to do with love at first. He wants to be free, but he is also in love with Monika, so what should he choose?

Basically, the two had a lot of maturing to do over the years they spent both together and apart.

Mewtwo stands trembling, as he asks to be caught by Monika. He loves her and he knows she won't ever harm him, but still... the thought of being a "caught" Pokemon rattles him.

He abhors the slavery of pokeballs - yet he asks to be caught. A much meaner human would use this opportunity to imprison him. But not Monika. Not her.

Though..what if...? And then she says "i can't do it. I don't want to take away your freedom like that!" And this is all he needed to hear. The tremble stops and he exhales. All doubt has vanished. He comes closer to her, and takes her hand that holds the Ball - Pointing the button of it right against his chest. The ball opens and he gets sucked in, immediately caught without any resistance. Monika blinks in shock at what just happened. She throws the ball, summoning Mewtwo out, and the ball returns to her hand. "Why did you do that?" "To really be yours. I love you, and i know you won't take my freedom away. Your refusal to this idea has shown as much."

"Of course not. I could never hurt you in this way!"

"So all is well."

"I will keep you outside the ball!"

"I knew you would"

I think at some point, Mewtwo would be inclined to make a choice. Love is all about compromise and giving in to vulnerability. This would be especially hard for Mewtwo to do, as humans have created and then abused him. But with someone he loves and trusts, maybe he can open up to them and give himself over to them.

And so Mewtwo becomes Monika's Pokemon, though not restricted at all. Sure, he now can call a Moon Ball his own, but he never is inside of it, just like Ash's Pikachu isn't in his Pokeball either. It's just a symbol, to say "I choose to be with you."

Plus, I think Pokemon that are already caught by a trainer cannot be caught by other Pokeballs/other trainers, so Mewtwo would be protected from further kidnapping in a way.

My copic-like markers have run dry, I gotta get a new one for Mewtwo's skin tone.
