Billy would like to say it is in fact not his fault. It’s really not. Who hits someone with magic they obviously don’t know how to use? Well okay maybe he had done that before, but it’s not like he ever did it around other people where they could get hit! 

But someone was an idiot and now he’s here, as his normal ten-year old self kicking his legs while sitting in the Watchtower as the others argued. Apparently the League thinks he’s been de-aged, which is good as his secret isn’t out. 

The uh, issue is that something about the spell might have um, partially manifested the gods- or as he called them the Mediterranean Magic Men, if only because of how annoyed it made Zeus. Now everyone can see the chat that’s usually only visible to him and apparently it’s concerning. 

He doesn’t see how it’s an issue, Zeus has been silenced for the next hour and Hercules has been dying of laughter for the last three. Oh, wait, it might be from Mercury’s constant attempted flirting with Flash. …Or the fact they’re trying to convince him to commit a crime and he’s honestly down for doing so seeing as he’s a homeless ten year old who is down for getting clairvoyance and super speed for the next thirty minutes in exchange…

Sis, this is the letter I sent to one of the elders in my tribe:

Greetings and respect, my brother.  I understand that this will not be a popular opinion here, which is why I chose not to share it on FB.  If you haven't listened to Anna Mae Aquash's daughter Denise speak about her family's experience, please do.  If you haven't listened to the women who were formerly associated with AIM speak about the men's behavior, please do.

Denise Pictou Maloney has this to say: "34 years of listening to people tell lies and point fingers...about taboo issues like violence against women and violence within our communities.  That seems to be something that people are not willing to point fingers at family members and community members.  I think my mother's case sends a very loud message to our communities and those people that have that mindset that under no circumstances does the protection of The Brotherhood ever out-trump the murder of a human being, and in this case, one of their own and a woman.  That send a very loud message, I think, to Indian Country for people to understand that...Those involved in my mother's murder chose to protect The Brotherhood...they were trying to protect the movement, and yet, in our eyes, the message that they send to us is that our mother's life had no value when it was compared to the protection of The Brotherhood...Leonard warned us to be careful not to become pawns in the FBI's conspiracy to bring down AIM and to keep him incarcerated...we asked him specifically if he had any opportunity to help us...and we received another letter back stating that he would not participate in incarcerating another Indian man."

Here's what I get from this: Anna Mae Aquash was an activist and a mother.  She wanted to fight for Indigenous rights.  Instead, she was scapegoated, raped, and executed.  This was covered up.  50 years later, there's still no straight answer.  An African American friend of mine has observed that the goal of Civil Rights, in the minds of many black men, is to remove the white man as ruler and to replace him with the black man.  Women are still subjugated.

It seems these AIM men couldn't care less about the rape and execution of a sister, a fellow human being.

I am Indigenous.  But I am a woman first.  Before anything.  I know the same could happen to me.  I feel like I'm putting myself in the way of trouble by writing out my opinion, and by all means, I'm not telling anyone how to feel.  I'm only expressing how I'm feeling.

The ultimate betrayal to me as an indigenous woman is watching indigenous activists, friends, family, people I look up to, praising Leonard Peltier when he assisted in the murder of an indigenous woman. All those native men who go "women are sacred" every two seconds and then turn around demanding the release of Leonard tells me that they don't actually care about our safety. Fuck most of AIM, fuck Leonard, make him tell the truth about Anna Mae Aquash so she can have justice.

Watching Eddie Begins with Buddie-colored glasses on is already crazy enough, but I just caught something that I never really thought about before. Athena tells Bobby that the news crews showing up before she leaves for another call might turn the call into a nationwide story. And then Buck absolutely LOSES it when 30 feet of wet earth falls on top of Eddie. So yeah, maybe Bobby pulls Buck away to stop him from futilely digging for Eddie with his hands, but maybe he also does it because he doesn’t want his kid’s grief and fear and love for Eddie being broadcast across the country. Especially not when Bobby thinks that Eddie’s probably already dead. And not only does Bobby pull Buck away from the well, he pulls back right into his lap. This is the closest we get to Bobby cradling Buck in his arms until the lightning strike, and it’s because he doesn’t want Buck to be in pain, and he most certainly does NOT want the tragedy of Eddie’s death to be made even worse by Buck’s pain over it being broadcast to the entire country.
