if we're like, showing graphs and stuff, this is the type that i think a lot of people on tumblr are thinking of when they think about the economy.

Only one third of people with family incomes below $50k spent less than their income each month. I would guess that a lot of people on tumblr who get aggro about this topic (and the vast majority of people on r/povertyfinance, who discuss this sort of thing a lot) fall into this earning category.

Real wage increases only matter if you got a raise (one third of workers got a raise last year, which means that 2/3rds didn't - included in the economic wellbeing report linked above). Whether or not rent is outpacing wages only matters if you're not going to be rent burdened (more than a third of renter households are cost burdened in every state and 12 million rental households spend more than half their income on rent). Employment rates lose a lot of meaning when you're working multiple jobs to make ends meet (the percentage of multiply employed workers was falling in the US from 1996 to the 2010s, when it plateaued, then it started rising slightly then collapsed in 2020 and has been rising steeply since then and it's too soon to tell if it's going to go back to the plateau or keep going up).

Four in ten adults in the US is carrying some level of medical debt (even people who are insured) and 60% of people with medical debt have cut back on food, clothes or household items; about 50% of people with medical debt have used up all their savings.

Tumblr is the broke people website and yeah, people who are working two jobs to afford $900 for one room and utilities in a three bedroom apartment are not going to feel great about the economy even if real wages are raising and inflation-adjusted rents are actually pretty stable. "The Rent is too Damn High" has been a meme for 14 years so, like, yeah. Even if it's pretty stable when adjusted for inflation it is stable and HIGH.

It's hard to feel good about the economy when you're spending the last few days of the pay period hoping nothing unexpected hits your account, and it's VERY frustrating to be told that the economy's doing well when you've had to start selling blood to buy groceries.

Sure, unemployment is low, that's neat. It's good that inflation has stabilized (it genuinely has; prices are not likely to fall back to pre-inflation rates and eventually you'll likely be paid enough to reach equilibrium, but a lot of people aren't there yet).

But, like, it costs eight thousand dollars a year out of pocket to keep my spouse alive. I'd guess that we've paid off about a third of the 40-ish thousands of dollars he's racked up since his heart attack. His medical debt is why I don't have a retirement plan beyond "I guess I'll die?" So talking about how good the economy is kind of feels like being chained in the bottom of a pit that is slowly filling with water while people on the surface talk about the fact that the rain is tapering off. Neat! That's good! But I can't really see it from where I'm standing.

Inflation really is getting better. My state just enacted a $20 minimum wage for fast food workers. The Biden administration has worked hard to reduce many kinds of healthcare costs. A lot of people have had significant portions of their student debt cancelled.

But a lot of people are still having trouble affording groceries and it doesn't seem helpful to say "your perception of the economy is decoupled from the reality of the economy" on the "can I get a few dollars for food today?" website.

2- favorite npc?

Okay aside from the main cast (Loop, Mirabelle, Isabeau, Bonnie and Odile) I’d have to say my favorite npc would have to be Euphrasie!

I adore her design and I just grown to really appreciate her/ writing her in general when applying the theory/ hc I had that she’s from the island like Loop, Siffrin and the King are. I’ve talked about that theory in depth in the official ISAT discord server, as well as here on tumblr. You can find a huge summary of that theory/ hc I initially came up with compiled by my good friend @felikatze who wrote a master post analysis on it here. My personal ramblings and theories about her can be found here and here.

From what little we get to see of her I just think she’s neat! A very fun and sweet character! I personally enjoy both writing her and drawing fanart for her. I’m a sucker for the characters who adores are kind and lighthearted/silly but still willing to do what it takes to protect the people they care about! Euphrasie is cool and it makes me sad when people say she isn’t really a character bc that’s wrong imo! Idk man even if we aren’t given a lot in the game itself, I think Euphrasie is in a similar category with characters like Petronille (Bonnie’s sister) or Claude ( Mirabelle’s roommate) we can clearly see glimpses of what they’re like based on how others describe them and flavor text/ interacting with objects in game etc. Like in canon Euphrasie has: 1) helped guide Mirabelle and many other people in the house of change 2) was one of the few people who knows about wish craft/ did her own research on it to help stop the king and 3) literally gave her own powers/ blessing of being immune to the King’s time freeze to Mirabelle so that she could escape being frozen at the cost of her own safety. Hell even when the world seemed to be ending and Siffrin shoved her away when he went super fucking huge kaiju star mode, she seemed to be fairly lax on the whole situation. Holy shit. Nerves of steel. What a gal. I love her vibes.

I know most people think nothing of her because she doesn’t get to talk or do much, but I find her role fascinating in the context of the game especially knowing that in the loops Euphrasie is aware that the world is breaking apart or that she’s forced to repeat/ say things like a broken record against her wishes. TLDR- I like euphrasie a lot and I like when people in aus or fanfic and fanart expand on her other npcs characters in depth in general. It’s very cool and awesome >:)!!

These interventions, which are daily occurrences, have intensified a climate of mistrust and paranoia in British universities, but what is most striking to me is that they resemble maximally punitive pedagogical interventions: claiming to speak against dogma, and in favor of complexity and independence of thought, a class of teachers aims to intimidate, belittle, humiliate, and silence a class of students, instead of—as might have otherwise been expected of them—doing their job and actually teaching.

There's gonna be some issues with both OSHA and ADA compliance there I think, legally they can do it within reason but it can open the door to all kinds of lawsuits if they do.

Thanks to the internet and those blessed meme things, many employees live by the meme-philosophy: Boss makes a dollar, I make a dime, that's why I poop on company time. However, under the law, employers are legally allowed to restrict bathroom breaks, at least, within reason.

Generally, reasonable restrictions will not prohibit employees from using the restroom when the need arises. However, in production, or client facing industries, employers may require an employee to wait for a co-worker to relieve their position before taking a bathroom break. Additionally, if an employee has a medical condition that necessitates frequent bathroom breaks, employers may need to be flexible as frequent bathroom breaks is an easily achievable reasonable accommodation in nearly all situations.

Giving Bathroom Restrictions the Business

While there is no federal law that specifies the number or length of bathroom breaks an employer must provide, restricting bathroom use unreasonably can lead to lawsuits and even all-out labor disputes with picketers and media. OSHA does provide rules that require employers to provide employee restrooms, and allow employees access to those restrooms.

Generally, unreasonable restrictions on bathroom usage will be viewed as a violation of an employee's rights because it subjects employees to detrimental effects to their health, including urinary tract and bladder infections, kidney stones, and other ailments. Furthermore, depending on a company's policy, restrictions on the length of bathroom usage may also have a discriminatory impact on women, or aging individuals, who sometimes need a little extra time in the restroom.

What's Reasonable?

What is considered reasonable will vary from job to job, and likely depend on state law as well. If an employee's bathroom usage interferes with their ability to do their job, or with the production line, or client services, then the law may not protect that employee.

Alternatively, if an employee needs to use the restroom, an employer should not have a policy that denies that employee the ability to do so. Even where an employee has an essential job, such as on a production line, an employer may be required to provide prompt and temporary relief of duties for the employee.

Does an Employer Have to Pay for Bathroom Breaks?

Generally, under the Fair Labor Standards Act, short breaks between 5 to 20 minutes are considered mutually beneficial for employer and employee, and as such, should be paid. However, if the breaks extend beyond 20 minutes, an employer can refuse to pay for that time.

Some Molly and Milo facts are under the cut!

Molly likes shopping, she does it over mail order catalogues and then it gets delivered to her house eventually. She mostly orders pajamas but also any other stuff that's sleep related.

If someone were to take Mr. T. Bear away from Molly, no matter wether she's asleep or awake, she'd notice immediately.

Molly was the one who suggested that they should hold hands to not lose each other, since she always holds onto Mr. T. Bear to not lose him.

The place where Molly's intro would be located is a page on the website that's titled "Unused Bits" where unused content for the show is being showcased for the sake of archiving it. The page would have a bit of a different look to it than the other displays on the website and the fact that none of it is canon would be highlighted. Molly wouldn't be the only unused character on the page, but I'm only going to be creating content for her.

Molly's character is kind of just a fun-fact kind of thing thats isn't connected to the main story at all. I think that her and the other hypothetical unused characters on the page would basically be red herrings for theorists.

Molly does have some text transcript concepts, but no audio is available for any of them.

Upon listening to one of the audios on the website I've realized that Howdy said that "Molly" is his aunt's name. Given the fact that there are plenty of random family members he has, they needed a name that somewhat ryhmes with the rest so from now on it's canon that Molly Moon's first name was reused to be the name of one of Howdy's family members.

Milo is a performer at heart, but at this point he very much lacks the motivation to do anything with it.

At least, that's what he thinks... you see, Milo is the kinda person who becomes the center of attention very often without realizing it.

With the way he acts it isn't a surprise, but he's really not doing it on purpose.

Yeah, interesting question. I think as AO3 expands, more other groups are finding it useful, but it's definitely AFAB central. I wouldn't expect it to be the primary hangout for trans women, but maybe I'm wrong?

Dystopische Nederlanders

Ok, euhm, hoe ga ik dit uitleggen.

Ik heb inmiddels nogal wat ervaring met zo'n beetje heel christelijk Nederland. En er zitten écht rare types tussen.

Ik wil er hier even twee noemen in aantocht naar de Amerikaanse verkiezingen, op basis van een Tumblr post die ik zojuist gerebloged heb.

De eerste is Gezin in Gevaar.

Ze zullen het je zelf niet snel melden, maar deze website en Youtube account, die het bestaan van een kleurrijk boekje over homohuwelijken zien als het einde der tijden, zijn bedacht door de organisatie Civitas Christiana. De Nederlandse tak van TFP. TFP zijn een organisatie die ons terug willen sleuren naar een tijd nog vóór het concilium van Trent uit de 16e eeuw! Gezin in Gevaar zijn het daar volledig mee eens, al zullen dat zelf niet toegeven. Hoe ik dat weet? Omdat Hugo Bos de secretaris is van CC én de baas van GiG!

Iedere keer als je een nieuwsfragment ziet over de week van de Lentekriebels, over 'bezorgde ouders' of over 'fouten bij de Rutgers stichting', weet dan dat journalisten in de propaganda van Gezin in Gevaar zijn getrapt. De organisatie heeft gelijk, soms gaat Rutgers te ver in haar seksuele voorlichting, maar het feit dat een hyperconservatieve christelijke organisatie de conversatie kan leiden omtrent dit onderwerp, Hugo wordt vaak geïnterviewed in reportages over dit onderwerp, maakt dat we deze organisatie dringend in de gaten moeten blijven houden, en we ze beter niet meer kunnen uitnodigen om de conversatie te leiden over dit onderwerp!

De tweede organisatie bestaat niet meer, maar dat maakt ze niet minder dystopisch. Waar nu de macht in Nederland in handen is van de VVD, was dat rond 1900 anders. Terwijl Aletta Jacobs, Jacobus Schoondermark, Jan Rutgers en Frederik van Eeden bezig waren met de eerste emancipatiebeweging, moesten zij vechten tegen de extreem-conservatieve ARP, oftewel "Anti-Revolutionaire Partij". (Zij waren wel niet de machtigste partij though. Dat waren de liberalen en/of de katholieken. Maar de ARP zaten wel echt ALTIJD mee in de regering!)

Nou denk je misschien dat dit een hele pacifistische partij is die gewoon rust willen, maar nee. Revolutie verwijst hier naar een specifiek revolutie; namelijk de Franse Revolutie! De ARP waren anti-democratie en anti-scheiding van kerk en staat. We leren allemaal op school dat het algemeen vrouwenkiesrecht geruild moest worden tegenover vrijheid van onderwijs. En wie stonden er aan de andere kant van die ruil? Juist ja, de ARP! ZIJ zijn de reden dat de Nederlandse overheid tot op de dag van vandaag betaalt voor evolutie- en klimaat-ontkenners in het Nederlandse onderwijs!!!!!!!!! En dat zoiets OOK NOG in de GRONDWET staat vastgelegd!?!?!?!?!!?

Weet je waarom Nederland zo moeilijk Indonesië af kon staan? VANWEGE DE ARP die op dat moment de macht hadden en twee "politionele acties" uitvoerden omdat zij Indonesië zagen als "hen door God gegeven". (Al speelden hier decennia aan kleinering van het Indonesische volk in de Nederlandstalige wetenschappelijke literatuur wel een rol in, maar soit.) Als laatste waren de ARP ook verantwoordelijk voor Hendrik Colijn, de man bekend als de meest incompetente minister-president uit de vaderlandse geschiedenis. (Google ff op “Gaat u maar rustig slapen”, een van de oudste Nederlandse memes.)

En wat veel mensen niet weten is dat deze dystopische organisatie is opgericht door Abraham Kuyper. Kuyper is zo'n beetje de belangrijkste man in de ontwikkeling van het Nederlands protestantisme na 1800. In die tijd had je twee type hervormers; progressieven en conservatieven. Kuyper was grotendeels deel van de laatste categorie. Hij vond de mainstream kerk, de Nederlands Hervormde Kerk, te progressief, en richtte de Nederduitse Gereformeerde Kerk op, die zes jaar later al weer over ging in de "Gereformeerde Kerken in Nederland". Lange tijd DE conservatieve tegenhanger van de NHK. Kuyper heeft er voor gezorgd dat een groot deel van Nederland éxtra conservatief geworden is! Vooral in de Biblebelt!

Dus even voor de duidelijkheid. Christenen die ons EEUWEN TERUG de tijd in willen sleuren, dan wel naar de 16e, dan wel naar de 18e eeuw, bestaan nog steeds of hebben in een recent verleden bestaan (De ARP is in 1974 opgegaan in het nog steeds bestaande CDA, net als de katholieke partijen. Het CDA is wel aanzienlijk progressiever dan de ARP ooit was though.)

Absurd conservatisme is niet iets uit een ver verleden. Vandaag de dag kunnen mens nog steeds het halve land achter zich krijgen met uitspraken als "alles was beter voor de emancipatiebewegingen van 1960" of "Alles was beter in de Gouden Eeuw, daar moeten we weer naar terug."

DIT. IS. NIET. NORMAAL. zoals Innuendo Studios het zo mooi zegt in zijn nieuwste video. CC die de Week van de Lentekriebels in zijn volledigheid willen afschaffen is niet normaal, ARP die willen dat de staat betaalt voor christelijk onderwijs en vooral voor wetenschap-ontkenning is niet normaal. Incels die vinden dat we terug moeten naar gender rollen van vóór 1960, zijn niet normaal.

Dit soort dingen ZIJN niet normaal en MOETEN ook NOOIT normaal WORDEN. Maar dat lukt alleen als WIJ een streep trekken. Anders doen zij het namelijk voor ons. CC heeft de streep gezet. Ieder jaar proberen zij tijdens de Week van de Lentekriebels het NORMAAL te maken dat OUDERS als ENIGEN hun kinderen sexuele voorlichting mogen geven. EN NIEMAND ANDERS!!!!!!!!!!!

We weten allemaal hoe slecht en problematisch thuisonderwijs is, al helemaal voor zoiets gevoeligs als sexuele voorlichting. Maar ieder PowNews of Telegraaf spotje over de Rutgers Stichting maakt CC's mening meer normaal, en die van ons minder. LAAT. DIT. NIET. GEBEUREN.

Stem! Praat! Verkondig! Want als wij het niet doen, dan doen zij het wel! Het is ze al eens gelukt in 1900, maar weet je wie het toen ook gelukt is? De feministen! ZIJ kregen algemeen kiesrecht al in 1919 na algemeen mannenkiesrecht in 1917 én algemeen onderwijs voor kinderen! (Beter bekend als de leerplicht. Anders had je nu nog steeds in de fabriek gewerkt!) Ook was het onder druk van de feministen dat het kinderwetje van Van Houten werd ingevoerd en het kiesrecht al in 1887 werd verbreed. (De feministen waren in die tijd voornamelijk een one issue partij voor algemeen kiesrecht, andere feministische zaken stonden op de tweede plaats. Zoals bijvoorbeeld kinderbescherming en -rechten, ook begonnen door de feministen.) In andere landen duurde algemeen kiesrecht veel langer! Omdat NEDERLAND een sterke traditie van feministen heeft die niet over zich heen laten praten! Die netwerkten en vechten voor hun idealen. (Van Houten kwam ook niet met het idee voor zijn wetje. Dat idee kwam van de feministen maar konden ze alleen via hem in de Kamer krijgen.)

Dus verkondig! Want er zijn voldoende Nederlanders, zo zie je nu, die graag over je heen praten met hoe ZIJ de wereld graag zouden zien! En dat doen ze dan ook nog eens in eufemismen! Sta. Dat. Niet. Toe. En noem het middeleeuwse, christelijke beestje bij de naam!

Maak HUN mening niet NORMAAL. Zelfs als de Telegraaf en PowNews dit wel doen.

『KoroLife』 : (I wish for) A Colorful Life

in hindsight I probably should've started with this introduction but ah well

Hello! I go by Aki Shourikawa, also known as TheAwesomeAki-kun from DeviantArt. Ever since dA "died" in 2019, I felt like I lost a place where creativity and the fun aspects of making art was celebrated and utilized. With the character-limiting, trend-chasing, confusing censorshipping, popularity-prioritizing algorithms and systems most social media sites use, I lost an outlet for expressing my scattered thoughts and experiences throughout my art journey.

Even though talking to the void for not having a following was normal to me even from my dA days, it felt especially lonely the past few years trying to move everything and start anew to cold, uncaring websites who valued clicks more than integrity or ingenuity. So much so that I just felt like I shouldn't even try doing anything apart from quietly feeling inadequate and too incompetent for anyone else outside my own head.

Outside of being a creator, I can hardly find artists I'd like to follow as a viewer in these sites now compared to before; when all the recommended recommendations tend to be the hundred-thousand-eyeball-popular artists that usually ➀cater to a younger demographic for profit, or just ➁follow along with whatever is currently trending and mirror what other artists already made. Not that there's anything bad about understanding your market and making profit off of it! It's just... art, to me, has always been an escape from ridiculous societal standings, hierarchies, or denomination prejudices present in day-to-day lifeーEveryone is capable of drawing or making art, and that's something I've always liked about it. But even if bad apples with bad takes are probably just a minority to an otherwise wholesome majority of artists out there... the idea of transforming the creation of art into a pure competitive market, or even some kind of 'content' generator somehow leaves a bad taste in my mouth, personally.

I want to see more of artists who create their own art as a showcase of how they perceive the world in their unique sense and style, just because! But those types (especially ones without a following) seem to keep getting shadowbanned, stunted, and pushed away by unquenchable zombie algorithms that push and normalize this trend.

There's a lot of laughably bad things to say about DeviantArt's online reputation, but I found that a lot of like-minded lurkers were easier to find back then + genuinely interact with beyond one-word compliments and befriend over a common interest (art!) regardless of following size, skill level, or what have you...compared to how it is these days where it's a ridiculous..."looking for art moots, but I will be picky❤"-kinda world. It was probably because it was focused as an art website and not just a really broad scope of 'social media' site where everything non-art also goes down the hatch...that was the case for old dA, at least.

Now, enter Tumblr!ーa site that I've been extremely familiar with even before I started uploading my stuff online, even though I haven't used it myself mostly because of DRAMAtical Murder memes ngl- and while I understand it still contains most of the flaws I've listed of other social media websites... it's meant to be a blogging site! With multiple blogs for multiple different things! That'll work great for me!... with my category-varied 2.4k submissions on old dA...I think!!

So instead of moping around for halcyon days as I did the past 4 years or so now, through Tumblr's platform... I wanted to get back to being productive again and document an aspect of my life that I wish to be filled with different colors and flavors. Through this nonsensical ramblingy, longass tangent about not liking other social media sites in comparison to old dAーalreadyーI'm doing it now!!

I want to learn all sorts of things when it comes to drawing, so I want to share all the failed experiments, confusing experiences, and silly things that generally makes me a little happy when I'm drawing. Even though I'll probably still be talking to the void...I think even the void will appreciate having more than 280 characters to use without sounding like an incoherent, shattered fortune cookie prophecy.

And if somehow, somewhere, someone finds and reads through them.... I hope they can give some form of motivation, inspiration, entertainment, or a cautionary tale for your own artistic endeavors, maybe? like, underestimating your deadlines and procrastinating at the last day, then panic upon the realization that you should've started like a wholeass year ago to finish the task at hand, then proceed with praying to a god (of your choice) and cramming until the very last minute til you nearly break your hands! Me and my 7-, 11-, 14-, 19- and 23-year-old selves do not recommend this at all! Tune in next week for more wild experiences that will summon forth bombasticeth side-eyes!!-

Would love to hear your review of Artfol once you've settled in a bit! (Probably wouldn't hurt for me to have a more presentable art archive somewhere either, so I'm curious about the alternatives)

of course!! after using artfol for about a week, i do like it! it's still very new, so i wasn't expecting too much off rip from it but it definitely has some good potential if it gets successful!

putting this under a read more because, as per usual, this got long.

to start: the good stuff! good, robust organization thus far for artists. all the art you post gets automatically put in its own separate tab on your profile called gallery in chronological order and any other art and text posts that you share as well as your own art and text posts get put into another tab called feed. the feed is in chronological order from newest to oldest and it's suuuuper nice being able to have an easy place that contains all your original work people can go to without the hassle of punching in specific tags in a search bar (or inputting them into the website url) and hoping for the best. the feed can then be further organized between posts and art, art submitted to challenges, art submitted to submissions and reshares of other peoples stuff.

you can also make collections for your own gallery, so you can have all your fan art in one collection, ocs in another, etc. this isn't just for personal organization either; your separate collections are displayed under the about section on your profile or, if you've got them, links section! i honestly like this a lot. most of my experience of running an art blog comes from tumblr and getting separate pages set up on your blog, while not horribly difficult, does require a bit of knowledge regarding html and manually inputting website urls where you want the links to go. having all of this steam lined is much better. all of this is relatively easy to figure out as long as you're open to just clicking buttons on the website to see what they do, as far as i could find there's no official tutorial available. you can only have a limited number of these without a premium subscription but i haven't a clue as to what that limit even is.

you can also effectively pin certain art pieces that you're proud of to the top of your gallery by putting them in a featured selection. no idea how to do this yet but i do think this in of itself is neat.

customization is light but they cover the basics well. they've got a nice bio and announcement/secondary heading type feature under your username that you can customize, as well as a nice big space for an icon and a big ol' banner you can put your art in. other than that, you can choose a 'theme color' as artfol calls it but it just determines the color of the bar under your banner as far as i can tell on the website version. they also have a separate area for links that automatically turn into the websites icon you're linking back to.

custom warning tags!!! these fully blur the image and you can put as many words to warn others about the content of the art as you want to clarify what someone's getting into if they click show. at first i was worried i could only put one custom warning on an image but nope, it lets you write multiple warnings on the censored image if the NSFW and Gore filters aren't cutting it for the art.

speaking of which; artfol allows NSFW! in places where online spaces have been getting progressively sanitized because big corporations and google ad sense are the ones who can pay the bills of hosting thousands of images and videos on servers, it's nice to see that.

the challenges! other artists can issue challenges to others to either draw their characters in certain outfits, as certain creatures, drawing a piece of art in your style, etc. think some of the various art memes floating around on twitter, except this time they have their own dedicated category! i haven't done any challenges yet but this seems like a great way to socialize with other artists on artfol, as well as stretch your own art skills.

AI art is explicitly banned.

there is an algorithm however it prioritizes art made recently, so artists of all skill level and mediums get a shot at being seen on the front page which is nice! as far as i can tell, your home feed (which is very similar to tumblr's) is in chronological order and doesn't put in any suggested or recommended posts in the middle of the posts of the people you've chosen to follow. the like and share options are easily accessible and when you share someone else's art, it notifies them by telling them that you've pinged them which is... odd to me, but the website doesn't seem to auto credit them any other way in reshares (in contrast, tumblr keeps the OP's username and icon at the top of their own original post when it gets reblogged). i'm also something of a tumblr hermit so this could be a common reshare (reblog?) format else where for all i know and i'm just griping about nothing.

there is a premium subscription you can sign up for as i mentioned earlier. you get stuff like no ads (which you also get if you've got an adblocker on your browser), more collections can be made, you can upload cover art (icons, i think?) for your collections and the art you post, you can have custom profile theme colors (i guess they let you use the color wheel or a hex code instead of the pre seleced colors they already have?) you get more layouts for your featured art on your profile and you don't have to wait 60 days to change your username. oh, and you can make groups that people can join based around one particular thing, however i haven't touched any groups yet because none of them are all that appealing to me.

honestly, a lot of the premium subscription perks are very inconsequential to the core functionality of artfol which is a huuuuge bonus to the devs in my eyes. they easily could have paywalled commission pages or collections all together and them just giving you some extra customization perks instead shows me that the devs are actually focused on making an artist friendly website and app.

over all, artfol is relatively easy to navigate and upload your art to! the base features are solid however the website does have some downsides.

the bad:

the most egregious thing is that I haven't been able to and currently can't access the content guidelines or privacy policy pages. when I first signed up, artfol gave me a link to what the website claimed was the content guidelines however it just linked me to the news page and that really didn't sit well with me.

because the artfol website is so new, I am going to give them a chance and interpret this in the best faith possible and assume that it seems like this is just an issue of certain pages crashing, seeing as I used to be able to access the News page on artfol and now it's just gone like the other pages. on top of that, it seems like every link except for their twitter, android and apple download links, instagram and discord links at the bottom of the artfol website page is broken in the same way. out of all pages eating themselves the content guidelines and privacy policy ones feel like the worse ones to lose. I haven't been able to access the guidelines from the jump and it's been really frustrating. I just got done sending an e-mail to their contact e-mail, so hopefully something good comes from that. in the mean time i've also downloaded the app to try to see if i can find the guidelines and privacy policy on there. I've noticed people complaining about crashing pages in the mobile app reviews so hopefully this is just a case of a website page accidentally eating itself and it's just very unfortunate coincidence that it happens to be some very important pages affected by the crashes.

other than that, the other downsides are that the website takes like a minute and a half to load, clicking on a censored image to view it on your home feed takes you to the individual post and has you un-censor it there rather than directly from your home feed and some features are currently only available to mobile accounts such as commissions tabs, however i'm sure that will eventually be made available to the website version as well in due time. also, while uploading art, not including the custom censor tag or NSFW or gore filters, you can only put 5 tags on your art. these are all only minor annoyances and i'm sure they'll eventually be fixed in upcoming patches.

over all: asides from some concerning hiccups with missing pages, artfol seems very promising for a relatively new, bare bones website! the developers have very much taken a mobile app first, website later approach which at least to me isn't the end of the world, seeing how the website is already doing okay all things considered. the community seems nice and i'm planning on trying out some challenges soon to get more experience using it!
