finishing up our list of membergroups are our three premium groups. as mentioned in our first two membergroup posts, premium groups are to be seen as something fun, mostly for the purposes of aesthetic, and as a cute bonus. please do not feel limited by the existence of these groups — if you don’t want to purchase a premium membergroup, you can still make a character whose personality fits the description of these groups and simply put them in another group. however, you can earn a free premium membergroup by completing our second task. now, with all of that out of the way, you can view the description of these groups under the cut.

lavender — the pessimist, the enigma, the isolato

opening the curtains but not letting anyone in, alone in their car on a dark strip of highway, a scratched vinyl record, faded street signs, the pain of an almost, keeping their feelings to themselves, solitude, the beauty of a twilight sky, the pain of ‘almost’, being mysterious on purpose, getting their hopes up and watching them fall, being the best at keeping secrets, film cameras, fairy lights, lo-fi hip hop, staring up at the moon and wondering if she’s looking back at them, taking their time learning to trust someone, unsweet tea.

orchid — the muse, the bellwether, the dreamer

the kind of beauty that inspires artists, loving to travel, setting trends, sociable, can talk their way into or out of any situation, gossiping, large hoop earrings, flashy rolex watches, rose gold or sterling silver, swinging from the chandelier, the horizon lined with skyscrapers, fresh flowers, spontaneous trips, not a hair out of place, high-end cologne, the newest makeup palette, new york fashion week, compensating for something, never feeling entirely happy, never being entirely themselves, passionate kisses, fluttering eyelashes.

snapdragon — the netizen, the caustic, the technophile

frequently using the internet, energy drinks, sarcastic remarks, social media influence, technologically savvy, buying the latest gaming console, junk food, niche memes that no one else really understands, hair dyed in unnatural colors, on the hunt for rare squishmallows, neon lights and led light strips, talking a little bit too loud, stoners and gamers unite, the cool older siblings from disney channel movies, smarter than people give them credit for being, the ‘chill’ friend or the adhd friend, no in-between.

since love alarm is a social media application that allows you to rate others on a scale of one to five stars, we have decided to keep the social media theme with our membergroups! each group below will have a distinct color alongside a description to explain more about what kind of people they are 🤩

below, you will see our seven membergroups and our three premium membergroups!

feel free to choose membergroups however you want —whether it be because of the description, the color, the name, or the ✨aesthetic✨ of it all! 

youtubes definitely have a customer service voice - wanting to appear as friendly as possible to people they don't know. that's not to say a youtube is an unfriendly person, as usually they are very friendly people. they are the types of people that will try to take on every task given to them. at first they can be very successful at the tasks they are given, even dedicating all nighters to them. but because they are constantly trying to take on new tasks, they often burn out where they no longer feel inspired by what they were doing before. this makes them prone to the anxiety of letting others down. perhaps the root of a youtube's issue is they often put the needs of others in front of their own needs. 

the first thing to know about an instagram is they are often not what they seem. instagrams are almost obsessed with appearing a certain way. they are often perfectionists, never satisfied with just getting by or being average. for an instagram, taking photos  to post on their social media pages could be a full time job. but their calculated and perfectionist ideals to keep their personas is not just limited to social media. they also want to be perceived as the smartest, and could be caught in lies about their sat scores or college acceptances. they are often perceived as fake, superficial and calculated individuals that are willing to do anything to get ahead.

you can always count on a snapchat to be the life of the party. they are the first to volunteer for something, and never had a problem being front and center. in fact, they thrive off being the center of attention.  snapchats can be found constantly overflowing with energy; insisting that you take 100 selfies to document a lunch you had with them, and always able to avoid awkward silences.  however, their constant energy can be very in-your-face, and draining for someone who is more reserved.  they often blur the line between only catching up with friends, and becoming clingy or overbearing.

a linkedin is a hard-working individual, willing to go to great lengths to achieve their dreams and aspirations. they are the people who have always had a meticulous plan, even from a young age. they are very sure, and confident in their abilities to succeed. these people often come off as robotic to some, because they base more of their decisions on logic than emotion. they are consistent individuals who avoid acting on impulse. they would rather make a pros and cons list before any major choice in their life. they enjoy spending hours on their resume, down to picking out the perfect sans serif font. though hard working planners, when events unfold that are not according to plan, a linkedin is easily frazzled. 

if you said the word gullible was written on the ceiling, facebooks might just believe you and look. they have a tendency to believe almost everything they hear and everything they read online. they are quick to pass along this new information and gossip as fact. one might often find facebooks checking in on their high school sweetheart's social media pages, making sure they haven't gotten married yet, even though facebooks swear they've moved on ages ago. facebooks are very emotional people, which can be both a good or bad thing. they are very empathetic of others, and are eager to try and support others. but when a facebook is down, they will vent to their friends for hours and they might even overshare their personal woes with people they don't know very well, eager to gain other people's sympathy or pity.

a twitter will likely notice you long before you notice them. they are often found at the edge of a crowd, watching and observing rather than demanding the attention of others. they are thoughtful, introspective individuals who tend to keep to themselves. others might describe a twitter as someone secretive and mysterious - who doesn't always open up all the way. it could take a very long time to properly befriend a twitter. a twitter may also display a different facade online where they wish they could be different than who they are in their daily life.

tumblrs are naturally very warm and imaginative people, they are constantly coming up with new ideas or dreams to inspire them and others. they often start their new projects with vigor, but they quickly become disorganized and lose their footing. as their muse fizzles, rather than dealing with the root of the problem, they are onto the next project. they find it easier to start over than fix what they broke. tumblrs are known to boast and embellish about the smallest of accomplishments to distract from a greater issue of their inconsistencies ('it's a new shade of blue!').

PREMIUM MEMBERGROUP

a vine swears they are a new person every day. they are always reinventing themselves with new hair styles, new hobbies and new fashion. they could be described as trend chasers, always seemingly going for what's popular, but many vines would deny this. they are impulsively living in a state of flux, making all their life choices without too much thought into what consequences their choices might have. many vines are thought to be creative, but airheaded with attention spans that only last six seconds.

PREMIUM MEMBERGROUP

a msn could write poetry about a stranger's ocean eyes on the subway. they are constantly falling in love with people, places and ideas. they fall down the rabbit hole of what things could be like, rather than the reality of how things really are. they often wear their hearts on their sleeves , and are the types of people who cry easily when other people are emotional.  however, along with feeling everything intensely, they also have a tendency to be labelled as overdramatic. this could be because they act as if the world is ending when someone doesn't call when they said they would, or because the grocery store was out of oreos.

PREMIUM MEMBERGROUP

when someone first meets a myspace, they might think they are a know-it-all with a snobby and sarcastic disposition. a myspace is selective with those they call their closest friends. because of their guarded, more apprehensive nature, it can be hard to break into their inner circle. but once you have befriended a myspace, you have a ride-or-die friend. they will be the first person to lend you money when rent is due, and the first person to buy you ice cream after a breakup. but beware, loyalty means everything to  them - and if you betray them, they will have no issues cutting you out of their top friends.

H U M A N S • The majority of the human population of Paris remains unaware of the supernatural around them. For nearly a decade, they’ve been primarily preoccupied with the Great War and then the aftershock that followed. Mortal Paris is all too happy to slough off their wartime threads and lose themselves in a haze of absinthe and glamour. Some humans, however, are keenly aware of what goes bump in the night and have formed hunting clans, including the fabled Round Table, a network that stretches across the globe.

M E L U S I N E • Over the decades, they have been called silkie, mermaids, sirens, and merrows. The Melusine are an aquatic people, typically populating rivers and shallow seas across the globe. Though bound to the water by a deep dependency on its power, a Melusine can fold into human skin at will, and walk amongst the people of Paris Above, and Paris Below. Constantly threatened by humanity's wars and the loss of habitat through pollution or encroachment, the Melusine of Paris have turned to piracy and raiding. For hundreds of years, they have pillaged shipping and merchant vessels, and stirred up conflicts to drive the humans back from their precious waters.

L O U P G A R O U • The Moon is a cruel mistress -- beautiful and annihilating. Lycanthropy is a progressive disease with no known cure and no deterrent. Passed on through the saliva of infected individuals, Loup Garou become more monstrous the longer they bear the illness. This is no romantic picture of beautiful wolves roaming in packs and howling at full moons. Loup Garou slowly turn from rational beings into hunted beasts. Not only do hunters seek them out and kill them, but as the disease advances, some set out to hunt and kill their own brethren.

V A M P I R E S • The Eaters of the Dead. Both immortal and deeply fragile creatures, the vampiric population of Paris has long learned to preserve their positions of relative power and wealth as the world turns madly on. A vampire is born through the bite of a sire, the intended fledgling binding themselves to a memento, and a long sleep. Perhaps the most integrated with the human population based upon parasitic necessity (or perhaps morbid curiosity), the recent Great War came as an unfortunate shock that threatened their precarious position embedded within Parisian society. With the end of the Great War and the beginning of Années folles, the Vampiric society of Paris has breathed a sigh of relief -- things will continue as they were, uninterrupted, and they will hold the peace.

W I X • The Wix are a vastly disperse species, commonly referred to by many names -- “witch” being one, “sorcerer” another, and both are seen as rather rude  terms within their community. Historically secretive and traditionally wary of human interaction, the Wix rely on networks of powerful families. However, those born to humans or otherwise outside the covetous bloodlines form hedgewitch communities, where magical knowledge is shared and taught freely. The Wix form the Wixen Council of Paris Below, responsible for the government of the secret city. More than a millennium ago, the inaugural Council bound the Horror beneath Paris Below and built the city with magic long lost, long forgotten.

No Jerks!

Dickish behavior will never be tolerated. Treat others the way you wanna be treated, ya know? Be willing to communicate clearly and openly with your writing partners. Always be respectful of boundaries and personal limits. Do not plagiarize! Cite your sources! Shoutout your inspirations!

Activity

You must post regularly with each of your characters for them to be considered “active” on the site. Inactive characters are at risk of losing their claims. Any account sorted into the Inactive membergroup may be deleted at anytime. New accounts with no activity 7 days after registration may be deleted. If you wish to save your writing permanently, please do so for yourself off-site. A character is considered active if they have at least 1 new in-character communication (call, text, note/letter, social media message) or thread post within the last 14 days. Please post an away message if you know you’ll be gone or unable to post for an extended period of time. If you are interested in a claim of a character you believe to be inactive, please reach out to staff for how to proceed. Activity “check-ins” will be held at the staff’s discretion. Threads will be sent to the archives after 30 days without a new post. Revive them by posting in the moderation thread. Active members may “retire” characters they no longer want to actively write with to save their profiles.

Aesthetics

Please use good-quality graphics (nothing pixelated, no broken or flashing gifs). If you need help, reach out in the #graphics channel in the server. We’ve provided a number of different templates and codes as well as a style guide for all members to use. Members are welcome to write and use their own codes as long as they do not break the site’s theme. Ask for permission before using someone else’s codes, and never take codes off of this site to use elsewhere.

In Conclusion

The staff team reserves the right to adjust or change these rules at any time for any reason. Thank you for taking the time to read through the rules! Regent is an original Regency-esque fantasy RPG, in an alternant version of our own world. We are inspired by various works of fiction, video games, books, movies, folklore, and history itself. Regent has a rating of 3/3/3, with no word-count, and low activity requirements (checks every 2-3 months). 

We have a mostly open-lore, where members are encouraged share their inspirations and ideas about the world. Regent considers itself character and plot driven, with various Site Subplots, In-Character Announcements through Staff run Media accounts, Fate posts - where we will use NPCs to throw a wrench into your thread, upon request, when threads need a little change, and Site Wide Plots that all characters are encouraged to participate in to promote interaction between Membergroups!
